Rare Pokemon

While some of them are actually available in the usual way, there is a sub-type of rare Pokemon in the game that you interact with who are standing in the world (not encountered in the usual way) as part of the different processes in the game. Some of these will be found as a consequence of normal play, while others you will need to complete specific actions to encounter.

The list below covers all of the rare interactive Pokemon in the game:

#510 Liepard --

This Pokemon will appear in the Hidden Grotto on Route 5 after it resets (see #572) following your capture of the Minccino.

#558 Crustle --

A Crustle blocks the exit in the Seaside Cave but following your encounter with Professor Colress, who gives you his special machine, you can use that to engage and capture it.

#572 Minccino – Encountered in the Hidden Grotto on Route 5 with Bianca --

In the process of showing you your first Hidden Grotto, Bianca will lead you to this Pokemon who has their Hidden Ability Skill Link.

#590 Foongus --

On Route 6 you will find what appear to be Treasure Balls laying on the ground but when you try to pick them up, they turn out to be Wild Foongus!

#593 Jellicent --

While normal Jellicent are quite common, if you Surf in Undella Bay on Mondays in Black 2, and on Thursdays in White 2, you can encounter a Jellicent that is in the open in the water, and that has its Hidden Move! In Black 2 it will be a Male, and in White 2 a Female.

#612 Haxorus --

Once you have seen all the Pokemon in the Unova Dex (minus the Legendary), you will receive a Special License which, when it is shown to the airport attendant in Mistralton City, allows you to go to the Nature Preserve, which is a place filled with wild Pokemon. In the center of the sanctuary is a rare and Shiny Haxorus for you to capture.

#628 Braviary --

Hidden on Route 4 in White 2 is a special area where birds appear on Mondays. If you go behind the house on that day, you will see a wild Braviary with its Hidden Ability.

#630 Mandibuzz --

Hidden on Route 4 in Black 2 is a special area where birds appear on Thursdays. If you go behind the house on that day, you will see a wild Mandibuzz with its Hidden Ability.

#637 Volcarona --

When you enter the Relic Castle via the PWT entrance you can reach the chamber with this rare Pokemon in it.
