Ambush Enemies

The trenches in Verdun tend to get filled up with the dead bodies of soldiers killed in combat. Use them for an ambush by going prone inside a cluster of bodies and staying completely still and silent until an enemy approaches from another part of the trench totally unaware. Then when they are most vulnerable spring your ambush to easily kill them.

Use a Rifle with a Bayonet

If you are playing Verdun as an NCO or secondary rifleman make sure you always select a class that offers a bayonet with your rifle. Having a bayonet affixed to your rifle is lethal when you engage in close quarter combat in trenches and on the battlefield. Meleeing with a gun butt takes two strikes to kill the enemy while a bayonet is an instant kill, it also has a longer reach.

Dangerous Areas

If you hear the sound of a gunshot or see a dead body of an ally on the battlefield it indicates the area is dangerous, and you will need to advance with caution. Immediately go prone and scan your environment to determine where you could go that would be safer, ideally somewhere that offers cover. There is no point charging into the enemy, you will be quickly killed.

Reload Tactically

Regardless of the weapon you are using it is essential that you reload tactically, if you have a rifle it will probably have a stripper clip which reloads 5 bullets, if this is the case you need to make sure you only reload when you are missing an interval of 5 shots. If you are using the Landser MG (Maschinengewehr 08) you need to try and only use 99 bullets per round at the most as you will only be able to reload while deployed and vulnerable. If you are using the Lewis light machine gun you need to detach and hide behind cover to reload.
