How to Unlock Garages

If your vehicle becomes damaged it will stall and no longer be operational and will need to be repaired at a garage. To unlock garages in Spintires: MudRunner you either have to equip garage points (at an already unlocked garage), or find a truck with garage points and deliver them to the locked garage. To unlock the garage you need 4 points, these do not need to be delivered all at once. If however you are playing Casual mode you simply have to haul your vehicle back to a workshop in order to repair it.

How to Rescue your Vehicle

If after trying everything possible to free your vehicle from the mud you are unsuccessful you will be resigned to summoning a second vehicle to help you. The vehicle you summon will have to be of the same class or one with a more powerful engine, you also need to ensure that the vehicle you select has big wheels and no cargo. Once you have placed the rescue vehicle in a position where it will not be hindered by mud you need to activate Advanced mode and connect the winch to your buried vehicle in order to pull it out of the mud. If your vehicle is too submerged there is the possibility you will not be able to get it out of the mud.

How to Get Out of Mud

The biggest challenge in Spintires: MudRunner is not getting stuck in the mud which is tough to do when the roads in the game are encroached in it. It is inevitable that at some point in the game you are going to get stuck in the mud and when this happens you will need to know how to use your gearbox in order to free yourself. This means knowing the difference between 1st Gear, 1+ and Reverse. 1+ works similarly to 1st gear, but gives your vehicle some extra torque. You need to be careful in this gear though bedcause if you fall below the speed threshold you will stall your engine.

How to Safely Reach your Destination in Hardcore Mode

When you play Hardcore mode the path to your objective will not be displayed while you drive which basically means it is left up to you to find your own route to reach your destination. The best way in which to do this so you avoid the hazzards that will cause problems is to either head to high ground with a scouting vehicle or unlock watchpoints in order to see the layout of the land so you can better determine what the safest route is likely to be.

Watch Where You're Driving

It is crucial that you pay attention to what is ahead at all times when you are driving in Spintires: MudRunner as the terrain can suddenly change and if you have not adjusted accordingly and in time can become treacherous. As a general rule the darker the soil the more softer it is. Heavier vehicles will be able to traverse softer soil easier than lighter vehicles because they will be helped by their torgue and large wheels, there is also however the possibility they will get stuck deep which makes it a gamble. Lighter vehicles need to keep away from soft soil altogether if possible and stick to rocky and dry environments for which they are better suited.
