Sniper Elite 5 stars US operative Karl Fairburne, as he embarks on a one-man mission to disrupt a secret project named Operation Kraken in Nazi occupied France that threatens to end the war before the Allies can even invade Europe.
As part of a covert US Rangers operation to weaken the Atlantikwall fortifications along the coast of Brittany, Karl makes contact with the French Resistance. It's Karl's mission to take out the high-ranking Nazi officers and end Operation Kraken once and for all.
Based upon real world locations from France in 1944, the new game maps in Sniper Elte 5 are the largest and most immersive in the franchise's history with the new traversal system offering you an even greater sandbox of options when it comes to taking out your targets. There are also enhanced cooperative gameplay options that enable you to invite a friend to help you on your mission.

- Play Sharpshooter Difficulty
It is recommended that you begin playing Sniper Elite 5 on the Sharpshooter difficulty setting, so you get a feel of what the game has to offer. If you play any setting below this the game will be too easy and likewise anything above may be too challenging if you are not familiar with the mechanics of the game.
- Save Often
Keep in mind that when you play Sniper Elite 5 on the lower difficulty settings you are given the option to save your progress whenever you like. Make sure you take advantage of this feature by getting into the habit of saving often so that you are able to quickly go back and do things differently if something goes wrong.
- Practice your Shots
Resist the temptation to get more accurate sniper shots by turning off gravity and wind and instead practice your shots with these settings on. Doing this will not only add to the immersion, it will also give you a sense of accomplishment when you land the perfect shot.

- Explore the Environment
There are no fixed paths to follow to complete missions in Elite Sniper 5, it is therefore recommended that you take your time and explore the maps carefully. Find a spot on high ground and use your binoculars to study the surrounding environment. Doing this will enable you to learn enemy paths, so you can plan your next attack.
- Use your Binoculars
Resist the temptation of diving straight into the action when you begin Sniper Elite 5. It is more beneficial before you engage in combat with the enemies that you check out the map and scout the area with your binoculars, so you are able to see what you have to deal with and plan out your moves.
Using the binoculars will not only allow you to tag enemies, they can also be used to learn enemy patterns and patrols.
- Hide Bodies
Make sure you hide the bodies of the enemies you kill whenever possible, so they cannot be found by enemy soldiers out on patrol. It is crucial that you avoid the enemy raising the alarm as this will result in troops flooding into the area looking for you which will make your progress a lot more difficult.
