Redout is a science fiction anti-gravity game set in 2560 where you complete in the SRRL (Solar Redout Racing League) by piloting one of a selection of crafts on several tracks. Redout. Reach impossible speeds in exhilarating futuristic races across an extensive single-player campaign and competitive multiplayer.
Below is a collection of hints and tips that will help you to progress in the game. These include how to hit the wall without crashing and how to turn your ship around a corner quickly.
The controls to maneuver your ship are not easy to learn in Redout 2, there are plenty of moving parts, and you will need to know how to navigate them and also use things like shields and missiles. In addition to reaching extremely high speeds, you will also be able to tilt, strafe, and boost your ships at any time. Don't worry if you are a new player as there are plenty of assists on offer that enable you to automate things, so they are easier.
Keep in mind that Redout 2 is difficult to learn and has been specifically designed to challenge you. Remember that you can use Google, YouTube, and any gaming forums that are online as a source to get help on the game. Take advantage of these resources that are filled with dedicated players who are more than willing to help you.
When you hit a wall in Redout 2 you can minimize the damage the crash will cause by doing the following trick. What you need to do is once you have determined that hitting the wall is inevitable you need to try and straighten your ship against the wall as best you can. This will mean lowing your speed, so you don't crash into it, instead allow your ship to ease into the wall so that it bounces back from the contact. When you are back on the track just correct your course and hit the boost.
One thing most new players struggle with in Redout 2 is turning their ship. Your natural instinct is to go full into a turn as fast as you can, but this is not the way to do it. In order to successfully navigate a turn as fast as possible you need to manage your turn-to-strafe ratio. Strafing is when you move sideways in relation to the trajectory of the vehicle. This basically means you need to point the nose of your ship in one direction while turning the full ship the other. When this maneuver is done correctly while lowering your speed will enable you to perform a drift-like motion which keeps you in a turn without losing control.
It is essential that you are constantly updating and upgrading your ship in all the different categories - weapon, hull, shield, and missile, so that it is in the best shape possible. The meter beside each category shows you your upgraded status, your goal is to try and get them all topped out. The only way you will be able to accomplish this is by continually going back and leveling them up.
