In Persona 5 Royal there are various Confidants that you can interact with to progress your relationship and to also gain a boost to Persona Fusion. Some of these Confidants will also give you some useful abilities that will enable you to save up on time, and it is these Confidants you should focus on. Listed below are three Confidants that will save you time.

Temperance Confidant
This Confidant will do various chores for you, negating the need for you to waste time doing them.

Fortune Confidant
This Confidant lets you rank up in other Confidants without losing time.

Death Confidant
This Confident allows for SP recovery items to be bought. This will make your traversal through a Palace and Mementos a lot easier.

If you find that you are just aimlessly hanging out with the Confidant and not progressing you can boost relations by giving them an appropriate Gift. Gifts can only be given in non-rank-up encounters and some can only be given once you have a Romantic Relationship with that Confidant. Gifts can only be brought once in a single playthrough and if you are playing Persona 5 Royal on PlayStation 5 male Confidants will not accept them.

In Persona 5 Royal you can find up to three Will Seeds in each of the dungeons and each time you discover one you will restore your team's SP, this is particularly useful early in the game when SP is in short supply. As there are three Will Seeds in each dungeon this means you will be able to fully restore your team's SP three times without leaving.

You can either use the Will Seeds to progress through the entire dungeon and find the treasure in just one day or alternately use them to grind XP. If you are not concerned about time and just want to get stronger, you can find a Will Seed, but not activate it. Then continue grinding away at enemies until you are running low on SP and then return to the Will Seed and activate it, so you are ready to go again.

It is essential that you ensure that you have one Persona whose Arcana matches the Confidant you wish to hang out with. It is important that you do this because it will make the Confidant rank up faster and prevent you wasting days hanging around them without furthering your progress.

Make sure you do the crosswords whenever they become available. Crosswords are a new feature in Persona 5 Royal which can be found periodically on certain days on the leftmost table in Cafe Leblanc. The difficulty of the crosswords varies considerably but if you can figure out the answers you will be rewarded with the Knowledge stat being boosted by 1 point. Also, doing the crosswords will not pass the day.
