Walkthrough and Guide

Take a look at our Walkthrough and Guide to get additional help in Hunt: Showdown. This includes tips on searching the environment and triggering sounds.

Always Bring a Melee Weapon

A vital tool you should always have with you in Hunt: Showdown is a melee weapon such as a knife or dusters as they are essential for eliminating the enemy quietly. Make sure you don't use a knife against immolators because when they are pierced they burst into flames. In order to kill this type of enemy during a melee encounter you need to use blunt weapons to bludgeon them to death, the dusters on offer are more effective than using the stock of a gun.

Take Advantage of NPCs

Hunt Showdown is a player versus player versus environment game which means the game is scattered with NPC enemies that also want to kill you. NPCs are triggered by sound or proximity and during the banishing phase when you are preparing to defend you should look for ways in which to use them to set traps and make life difficult for other hunters. An example of this is shooting an immolator to catch an enemy on fire.

Play Quickplay to Earn Money

Play Quickplay mode if you are low on money and don't want to use free hunters on Bounty Hunt mode. Quickplay is a solo only mode where up to 12 players compete in a fast-paced battle royale-inspired gameplay to discover and defend the Wellspring against other hunters. You are given a free hunter with no weapons, equipment, and consumables which you must then find scattered around the map.

Play with Free Hunters

If you are continually losing hunters you should consider using the free Hunters which are offered with each reshuffle and feature contraband weapons and gear which cannot be sold. Playing with free Hunters is a good way to save money to spend on the weapons, equipment, and hunters you want. If you barely have any money using free hunters is about your only option when it comes to Bounty Hunt mode.

Only Shoot when Necessary

Make sure you pull the trigger to shoot only when necessary as the sound of your shot will ring out over a huge distance and identify your team's location. If you are being stalked by enemies while traversing the swamp you should use melee attacks to cripple their legs to slow them down. Immolators in particular should be bludgeoned to death whenever possible as they will burst into flames if they are shot which is something you want to avoid happening.
