Begin on Easy Mode
If you are new to Farming Simulator it is recommended that you start on Easy mode as this will allow you to make money fast and also gives you the opportunity to try a lot of different vehicles and tools, to find the ones best suited for each job and also to find your own favorites. Make sure you use the equipment you get for free before you sell it. You will find however that some equipment is actually worth keeping, but you won't know that until you have tried them all.
Earn More Money Logging
Trees are free-for-all all over the map and Logging in Farming Simulator 17 will enable you to earn more money. Logs are worth more the longer and bigger (diameter) they are and their price does not change unlike Wood-Chips which you can make more money from if you know how to manipulate the market fluctuations. Don't bother with the Heizomat Heating Plant, it is not worth the effort.
Use Fertilizer to Increase your Yeild
Fertilizer can be found by your Goldcrest Valley home in fertilizer stillages, and it can be used to fill manure spreaders and sprayers. You can increase your yields by 90% by fertilizing your fields. You will only be able to fertilize once per growing stage. It is important to remember that manure makes fertilizer, and you can not buy manure in Farming Simulator 17, it is obtained from your animals so make sure you keep them topped up with straw.
How to get Free Water
Water from the pump on your farm (or any pump on the map) costs you money. You can obtain free water and avoid paying this cost by backing the water tank trailer into the river and loading it while submerged. The safest spot to set this up is the sandy 'beaches' next to natural water formations. Although filling your water tank trailer in bodies of water is completely free, it must be warned that getting it there can be risky.
When to Buy Better Tractor Attachments
If your tractor has less than 80% of the required power you should not buy a new tractor attachment as it will not be able to travel with maximal speed. This is something you want to avoid as it will result in your new device costing much more work hours and extra exploitation costs.
