The SEGA Genesis was released in the United States, while the SEGA Mega Drive
was released in Europe. They are different names for the same console! This
circumstance is the reason for the different names of the compilation this FAQ
is based on.
The name for this Ultimate Collection is Sonics Ultimate Genesis Collection in
the US and SEGA Mega Drive Ultimate Collection in Europe.
I played the European (PS3) Version of the game. My descriptions even work with
the Xbox360 version, since every version includes the same games and the same
amount of trophies/archievments.
You will only read "This" or "That Ultimate Collection" during the FAQ to avoid
misunderstandings.

How to use this FAQ
-------------------
This is a Trophy Guide and NO Walkthrough!
Make sure you played the games once by yourself before reading this FAQ. If you
have any problems to unlock a specific trophy, then this guide can help you.
All trophies for every game inside the compilation is added to this FAQ.

If you send me an e-mail with alternative strategies or other tips, please
insert your name that you want me to use in my FAQ to the mail.

There are 18 bronze, 13 silver and 4 gold trophies to unlock in this Ultimate
Collection. You need to unlock 34 trophies in total to get the last trophy with
the number 35 - the platinum trophy.

==========================
===UC-1.0) General Tips===

- You get an operational emulation software with this collection.
You can size each game to 16:9 or 4:3, activate a high quality render and you
can save state three different slots per game, at any time and wherever you
want.

- USE this SAVESTATES as OFTEN as you need it.

- Save before difficult scenes, jumps, areas or fights. This does not affect
your ability to unlock any trophy.

- Make sure to check any game for additional options to change. Set the game to
the easiest difficulty, give yourself the most available lifes and the largest
health-meters before starting a new game, which makes things much easier.

- If you have serious problems to solve a difficult part inside any game, do
not bother and search the internet for cheat codes or key combos that give you
some advantage abilities and not does give you any disadvantage to unlock a
trophy.

- Some of the games need a little bit practice before you can master them. It
is always good to know the controls and how the game mechanic works before you
heading for a trophy.

=============================
===UC-1.1) Bronze Trophies===
There are 18 bronze trophies to unlock in this Ultimate Collection. All of them
have variety tasks to accomplish.

====================================
===UC-1.1.1) Get Rich - Alex Kidd===
===Requirement: Collect 1,000 in currency
It sounds harder as it is. Set the game to easy mode and start a new game.
Alex Kidd has 4 life's and you do not lose any collected credits by dying.
Please note that you can punch almost every enemy in your way, which drop
moneybags that increase your currency.

=======================================
===UC-1.1.2) Don't Die - Alien Storm===
===Requirement: Reach Mission 3 without losing a life
This is a very time intense task. You may need more than one attempt to survive
the two first levels without losing a life.

General Tips for Alien Storm
----------------------------
- Go to the options menu and set the difficulty to easy and give yourself the
largest health-meter.
- Using save states is the key to solve this task!
- Save before and after every battle and make sure to use different save slots.
- Be patient and load a save state if you lose too much life in battle and try
again.
- Try to tackle your enemies from a far distance and never stand still.
- Take care not to be surrounded by enemies and never stand still.

At the end of each level, you need to solve a specific task. Here I give you
some tips on how to survive the parts.

- Level 1 Final
You enter a warehouse in which you switch to first person view. Concentrate on
the background of the screen. If you see an alien coming, be ready to shoot it
when it opens its mouth. I suggest you to save after each successfully dodged
alien attack. This way you can make sure that you do not lose any health or
life.

- Level 2 Final
You start a race on a highway against alien riders. Keep on the track and use
auto-fire. Three shoots kill one rider. If one of them decreases its distance
to you then change the track. Whatever you do, do not stop shooting unless you
have to change the track.

You should have saved a lot of health during the first and second level. Just
make sure to reach the end of level 2 as healthy as possible before starting
the race. Well done, you have unlocked the trophy!

===============================================
===UC-1.1.3) Enter the Beast - Altered Beast===
===Requirement: Collect 100,000 pts or higher by the end of the first level
Start a new game and beat every monster and soldier on your way. Crouch if you
want to hit one of these jumping dog-ish creatures and pick up the strange
flying glyphs they drop to morph into the different forms of the beast.
Soon you come across a priest, which fires flashes on the right side of the
screen. This is the end boss of the stage! Do not attack it and wait on the
left side of the screen until he disappears again. You can and you need to
avoid the boss battle three times or you cannot collect 100,000 points before
the level ends.

=========================================
===UC-1.1.4) Holy Water - Beyond Oasis===
===Requirement: Unlock the Water Spirit
Beyond Oasis is a solid action RPG with lots of fighting and it needs some time
until you unlock the Water Spirit. I found the Water Spirit after 20 minutes of
playing.
Just follow my simple and short walkthrough below.

General Fighting Tips
---------------------
- Tab the Action-Button for a Light Attack
- Hold the Action-Button down and release it for a Strong Attack
- Double tab the Action-Button for a Kick-Attack
- Double tab and hold a D-Pad button to run.
- While running, tab the Action-Button for a Strong Kick
- Tab the Jump-Button to jump, followed by the Action-Button for a Strong Kick
- Hold down the Jump-Button to crouch

Walkthrough until the Water Spirit
----------------------------------
The Village:
You start on a beach and you need to enter a village to the north. Inside the
village, go north again and defeat the big berserker. After he is defeated, all
the other enemies disappear.

The Travel to the City:
Now talk with the old man to regain health and leave his house and the village
heading west. Fight your way through two big areas until you see a city-wall on
the left side of the screen. Enter the city walls

The Castle:
Enter the city and move north over a bridge to enter the castle. Use the door
on the right side of the left wall to reach the balcony. Follow the way and
enter the door to reach the throne room. Inside the throne room, talk to the
princess to regain health and to the king to get the water shrine key. Leave
the castle and the city after getting the key and head east again.

To the East:
Make your way back to the village and leave it to the east. Now continue your
path through two other big areas until you reach a campfire with rats. Kill all
the rats and move south, followed by going west again until you find the water
shrine. Defeat its guardian and enter the shrine.

The Temple of the Water Spirit:
Go north until you find a room with many soldiers inside. There you find
another berserker, which you kill. He drops the key to the door. Take a sword
from one of the chests and enter the door. You will find yourself inside a
room, surrounded by blue and red blobs. Kill the red blob at the top left of
the room to get another key. Enter the room with the wave, which blocks your
way. Use the Jump-Button to master it and enter the next room.

Boss Battle:
You should have enough healing items now to survive this boss battle. If you
health decreases dramatically, then use one of the healing items inside your
inventory. Just destroy the monsters left scissor first. Take care if you see
it to jump into air. Try to run below it before it lands and hit its face with
Strong-Attacks. If you see it shooting water bubbles at you, try to attack its
face from left or right. After eating a lot health, the monster explodes and
you have won.

Unlocking the Water Spirit:
Get the key from the monster and open the door. You find a blue door in the
next room. Just push the Magic-Button near the door to open it. Inside there,
you find the water spirit, which finally unlocks the trophy.

This Walkthrough ends here. If you want to continue the journey, then go back
to the king and get your next assignment.

==================================================
===UC-1.1.5) Stealing Points - Bonanza Brothers===
===Requirement: Reach 40,000 points on the first level

=====================================
===UC-1.1.6) Easy as Pie - Columns===
===Requirement: Get 20,000 points only on Easy Mode
Do some practice until you know how the game works. It is a combination of
Tetris and Bejewed. Soon you will break through the 20,000, which unlocks the
trophy. Experienced players of this sort of game should have no problem to
reach the goal with the first try.

==========================================
===UC-1.1.7) Hardly a Hero - Comix Zone===
===Requirement: Complete first episode
You need to reach level 2 to unlock the trophy. Save your game before you enter
the next screen and reload it if you take too much damage or use the healing
bottle if your health is low. Now follow my guide:

Grab the healing bottle and the knife and leave the screen. Defeat each of the
two mutants in this screen three times and leave it to your right. Destroy the
burning barrel first and defeat another mutant. Take care not to fall into the
pit or you are dead. After the mutants death, jump into the pit. Use the switch
or break the door on the ground before you jump into it. Free the weasel in
this room and destroy the hatch. Take care of the flying mutant. One hit should
get it down. If you have problems to kill it, wait for the weasel to take it
down. In the screen to your left, you encounter another mutant, which keeps
spawning after each knock down. Defeat it and leave to the screen down below.
There you find a crate. Push it on the left wall, jump on it and use the switch
to open the pit in the ground. Fall down to the next room and take care of the
flying mutant. Destroy another hatch and enter the last screen. Now is the time
to use your healing bottle if you did not used it before. Break your way to the
right end of this last screen and jump over the gab. Try to kick the mutant
into the pit or over it. You should hit a flying mutant by accident. Stand on
the far right end of this screen to complete the level. Well done, the trophy
is yours!

========================================
===UC-1.1.8) Get Ahead - DeCap Attack===
===Requirement: Collect 5 Bonus Coins
You need to find 5 golden coins during the game. You find them inside breakable
statues. Try to find them and break all of them on your way. After 10 minutes
or more of playing, you should have 5 coins and the trophy in your bag.

===========================================
===UC-1.1.9) Communication is Key - Ecco===
===Requirement: Talk to another dolphin
The game is very challenging if you decide to play through to the end, because
of its high difficulty.
The trophy itself is an easy one. Start the first level and swim around until
you find a dolphin. Now use Ecco's sonar near it, to unlock the trophy.

==========================================================
===UC-1.1.10) Taste Like Tuna - Ecco: The Tides of Time===
===Requirement: Eat 200 fish
Use the first level of the game and charge into a bunch of small fish to eat
one of them. Search for multiple swarms swimming in the same height and charge
from left to right, leaving some space behind you for the swarm to respawn.
Repeat that until you hear the sound that tells you that you have unlocked the
trophy.

=================================
===UC-1.1.11) Suit up - E-SWAT===
===Requirement: Obtain the Combat Suit (Complete Mission 2)
Set the difficulty to normal mode, activate auto-fire in the controls menu and
start a new game. You need to complete two levels before you can unlock this
trophy. Follow my little walkthrough for Mission 1 and 2:

Mission 1:
----------
- You start at the left side of the map and you need to move to your right. You
encounter different enemies that attacking you on your way. Kill them all and
try not to be hit until you reach a dead end to your right. Use the two
platforms there to jump up and jump over a little gab to your left.

- There you encounter a dude, which is firing down all the time. If you hit the
shot, you will fall down.
Save your game here and try to jump over the gab he is shooting at. Maybe you
need to reload the game and to practice a little bit before you can land on the
other side without being hit.
Save your game again after you solved this jump!

- Now continue on your way until you land on a platform, which is moving down.
Save your game here!
Now you need to destroy a helicopter that is shooting at you.
Learn its movement and fire at it. You should have enough health to survive
this battle without moving too much.

Mission 2:
----------
- You stand on a platform, which is moving if you push a directional button.
Move it right and up until you reach the top of the map. Now move down again
and straight right until you find an arrow with the words UP inside.
Hold down the up-button and push the jump-button to land inside the cell.

- Move left and kill all enemies on your way until you see a destroyed wall in
which you will fall. Continue your way and take care from enemies from behind
until you find an arrow with the words GO inside. Jump over it and leave this
map to your right. If you fall into the gap, then you need to take all the way
up again.

- Save your game! Move forward by jumping and jump over the fence by holding
the down- and jump-button. Jump again to your right and save your game again!

- This two Robots are though. I needed three attempts before I won the battle.
I placed myself between them and crouched during the entire fight.
Now stay down, turn around to the robot that is crouching too and start
shooting until it jumps over you to the other side.
Turn around and keep shooting. If one of them jumps over you again, turn around
and keep shooting until he jumps back.
If you have an alternative strategy for this fight, please send me an e-mail.

By watching your dude morphing into a dude with battle-suite, you unlock the
trophy. I tried to continue to play through Mission 3 but always died because
of many enemies, placed all around me. This game isn't Sparta, but it's real
madness if you solve it.

=================================================
===UC-1.1.12) Don't Get Lost - Fatal Labyrinth===
===Requirement: Progress to the fifth level of the labyrinth
This is another very time intense task and there is no fixed way to describe
which way you need to go, because the labyrinth is build by a random-wall
generator each time you start a new game. Just follow these simple tips and you
should reach the 5th level, which unlocks the trophy, in less than 20 minutes:

General Tips for Fatal Labyrinth
--------------------------------
- Save state between each floor of the labyrinth
- Explore every corner of the labyrinth, collect all weapons and armor which
you find to increase your characters attack- and armor-rating
- Equip always the strongest weapon and armor and discard multiple items of the
same kind
- You start a new floor in the same room where the exit is, sometimes
- I suggest you to clean every floor of monsters and to power up your character
with weapons and rings before leaving to the next floor

========================================
===UC-1.1.13) Getting Chicks - Flicky===
===Requirement: Collect 80,000 points
This is the most well aged game of the entire compilation and it caused me some
trouble, but it is good to have a wife, which is a true arcade expert!

General Tips for Flicky
-----------------------
- You are a blue bird that needs to collect little chicks and bring them to the
exit, while you avoid to be hit by cats and other animals.
- Collect as much chicks as you can and wait until you have more than 5 chicks
following you before you bring them to the exit.
- The more chicks you bring to the exit, the more points you will get.
- SAVESTATE between each level! It hurts much if you lose short before you can
reach 80,000 points!
- Try to catch all chicks during the bonus stages to get extra points!

The trophy drops after you collected the desired amount of points! Well done!

=========================================
===UC-1.1.14) Twinkle Twinkle - Ristar===
===Requirement: Collect 5 Yellow Stars
This is another task, which requires some time. Just play through the game and
break yellow chests that may drop Yellow Stars, The same Yellow Stars that give
you health back. I played through five levels until I got my stars and the
trophy.

====================================================
===UC-1.1.15) Complete Chaos - Sonic the Hedgehog===
===Requirement: Obtain a Chaos Emerald
You can find the first Chaos Emerald inside the first bonus-level after the
first act. Make sure to have 50 or more rings before reaching the end of the
level or else the big golden ring does not appear.
Just save your game before you need to jump through the big golden ring at the
end of level 1. I you fail to spin through it, just load your game and start
another attempt.
Jump through the ring to reach the bonus-level.
Save your game again at the start of the bonus-level and make your way until
you find the emerald rotating inside a cage of obstacles. Be careful not to
fall into the GOAL, which let you leave the bonus level.
Save patient and hit the obstacles that block your way to the emerald and break
them. Now grab the emerald, an extra life and the trophy. Well done!

======================================================
===UC-1.1.16) Flicky to the Rescue - Sonic 3D Blast===
===Requirement: Rescue 20 Flickies
Reach the second ring lock on level 2 and you have rescued enough Flickies to
unlock this trophy.

======================================================
===UC-1.1.17) Three Times a Charm - Streets of Rage===
===Requirement: Complete 1st Level using all 3 characters
You need to solve the first stage with all three available characters. This is
a very time intense task, because you need to play it three times, if you play
alone.
Just complete the first stage with any character and reset the game. Choose the
next character and complete the stage again... and one more time with the last
character.

I played this classic game with my friend, because we loved to play every game
of the series in the past over and over again.

=============================
===UC-1.2) Silver Trophies===
There are 13 silver trophies to unlock in this collection with vary tasks to
accomplish.

==========================================
===UC-1.2.1) Garden Gnomes - Golden Axe===
===Requirement: Collect 20 magic power-ups
General Tips for Golden Axe
---------------------------
- Set the difficulty level to easy and give yourself the highest health-meter

- Do not stop moving, move down or up and surround your enemies if you get
stuck between them

- Charge them before they can charge you

- If an enemy charges you and starts his 3 Hit combo, move up or down to free
yourself before the third (100% health-stealing) hit.

- I suggest you to keep your magic power until you meet the boss of a level,
but feel free to use magic whenever you want, this does not reduce the amount
of magic power-ups you have picked up

Collecting Magic Power-Ups
--------------------------
- Magic power-ups drop from little dwarfs with a big bag on their back. Hit a
dwarf once and move over the bottle to pick it up. If the dwarf does not run
away, then hit him once more to get another bottle or health power-up.

- You go to rest between levels over night. Some dwarfs will show up while you
are sleeping. Hit them to get a power-up

- Maybe you need to start a second game and to continue collecting magic power-
ups if you play in beginner mode

After you have picked up the 20th magic power-up, the trophy will be unlocked.

========================================
===UC-1.2.2) Tower Up - Golden Axe II===
===Requirement: Complete Tower Level

General Tips for Golden Axe II
------------------------------
- There is no big difference between the general tips for Golden Axe I and II,
because the second part of the series did not evolved much from the first.

- The only difference is the use of magic. Hold down the magic button and
charge up the magic level you want to use

The Tower Level is the third level of the game. You should have enough health
and life's to complete it and to unlock the trophy.

====================================
===UC-1.2.3) TGIF - Kid Chameleon===
===Requirement: Collect Maniaxe
All you have to do is to reach level 4 and to follow my simple walkthrough
below. The other three levels should not be that difficult. Each level ends by
touching a big flag.

Level 4
-------
Make your way through to your right until you find a way leading down.
Jump down and follow the way to the left until you need to fall down again.
Now jump to your left and break the P blocks there. One of them includes the
form of the Maniaxe, which transforms you into a dude that looks like Jason
from Friday, 13. This unlocks the trophy! Well done!

===============================================
===UC-1.2.4) True Ninja Skills - Shinobi III===
===Requirement: Complete first level without using continues
This is not too difficult. Use your three save states to the maximum and load
one if you lose a life. After successfully save stating through out the game,
you should unlock the trophy without any life lost.

========================================================
===UC-1.2.5) Get to the Chopper - Super Thunder Blade===
===Requirement: Score over 1,500,000 points in the first level
Go to the Options Menu, set the game to easy mode and give yourself seven
life's. Go to the controls and set auto-fire on. Now start a new game and fly
in circles while holding down the Shoot-Button. Fly up to shoot at aircrafts
and fly down to shoot tanks. If you reach the destroyer with over 1,300,000
points, then you may unlock the trophy while destroying anti-aircraft-guns and
planes on it, which unlocks the trophy.

=================================================
===UC-1.2.6) Good Day Mate - Streets of Rage 3===
===Requirement: Unlock Roo the Kangaroo as a playable character
You find Roo the Kangaroo somewhere in the second stage, guarded by a
beastmaster. Kill the beastmaster and Roo runs away, which unlocks the trophy
and makes him available at the character select after using a continue.
If you kill Roo, then the beastmaster runs away and you need to start all over
again.

=========================================
===UC-1.2.7) Super Charged - VectorMan===
===Requirement: Collect 500 photons
VectorMan is a very unfair and difficult game. Prepare well and just keep
playing and collect as much photons as possible until you hear the sound that
tells you that you have unlocked the trophy. Try not to die and save your game
very often.
You will face flying things, which hurt you if you touch them. They like to
drop photons from time to time and respawn if you leave and come back to their
place. Use this for your advantage and save your game from time to time until
you get the trophy-unlocked message. Happy hunting!

=============================================
===UC-1.2.8) Can You Dig It? - VectorMan 2===
===Requirement: Reach Scene 11
VectorMan 2 is a much more unfair and very difficult game and if you want to
beat the 10 scenes to reach scene 11, then you can feel like a god when you
made it. I wished that I had more than 3 save slots for it, while fighting my
way through every scene. Make sure to have one savegame at the start of each
level, which you do not override. I was stuck in mission 6 and I wished I had
one.

I accepted the challenge first and played through to scene 7 until I found
another and much easier way to unlock this trophy inside Chaotic_Fusion's FAQ
for this compilation at GameFAQs.

Chaotic_Fusion wrote:
Start the game and pause it as you're falling from the sky. Enter this code:
Up, Right, A, B, A, Down, Left, A, Down. You'll now be on the stage select.
Just pick the 11th stage. That's it, the reward is yours.

All credits to him!

================================
===UC-1.2.9) Blast Processing===
===Requirement: Play all Genesis(tm) Titles
This trophy is no big deal. If you have played all the games in the collection,
then you unlock this trophy without much effort.

==================================
===UC-1.2.10) Master the System===
===Requirement: Unlock Everything
You need to unlock everything inside the Extra Menu. If you followed my FAQ,
then you should have unlocked some of the Unlockables already.
I made an extra section for all the Unlockables a bit below in this FAQ.
Just hit CTRL-F to popup a search window and type in:
C)	Extra/Unlockables
to get to this extra section.

========================
===UC-1.2.11) No Life===
===Requirement: Watch Every Video
Easy as cake! Just unlock all the Interviews in the Extra menu and watch them.
You do not need to watch them to the end. Just start each video, watch some
seconds and quit. Repeat that with all the Interviews to unlock this trophy.

Sure, you can watch them all to the end, but only if you want to waste 60
minutes of your life.

=========================
===UC-1.2.12) Critique===
===Requirement: View all Artwork
This is a bad joke! Open the museum of each game and watch every picture of
every box art and cartridge to unlock this trophy.

=================================
===UC-1.2.13) Only in the '80s===
===Requirement: Play all Arcade Titles
Just play all the Arcade Titles that you have unlocked in the Extra menu. You
do not need to play through them, so just start each game, play some seconds or
minutes and quit. Repeat that with all the Arcade Titles to unlock this trophy.

===========================
===UC-1.3) Gold Trophies===
There are 4 gold trophies to unlock in this collection and not very challenging
ones, too. They are just very time intense. Take your time and have fun!

===============================================
===UC-1.3.1) Saved by Magic - Golden Axe III===
===Requirement: Use magic 10 times
This is the third installment of the series and the best one if you ask me.
You should have enough practice through playing the first two parts.
Just play through the game and use magic short after you have picked up a magic
power-up until you used it 10 times, which unlocks the trophy.

===============================================
===UC-1.3.2) Yatta! - Dr. Robotnik's M.B.M. ===
===Requirement: Complete the game
Feel free to play through the entire game. In fact, you should practice for a
while anyway, or use this quick way I got for you:
Start the scenario mode, select "continue" and enter the following code:
Yellow Bean, Happy Bean, 2x Blue Bean. You find yourself in the last level of
the game. Now complete this round and unlock the trophy. Easy, huh?

==========================================
===UC-1.3.3) A Different Tail - Sonic 3===
===Requirement: Collect 100 rings with Tails anywhere on Angel Island Zone
Make sure you select Tails before starting the game. It is not very hard to
collect 100 rings during the level. Just save your game before difficult areas
and make sure not to get hit by anything, which causes you to lose all already
collected rings. Be patient and you should not have any problem to have 100
rings at the end of the level.

==============================================
===UC-1.3.4) Lots of Zeros - Sonic Spinball===
===Requirement: Get 10,000,000 points in the first level
You need a lot of time to reach the goal for this trophy.
I suggest you just to play and to save your game from time to time. If you lose
the lust to continue playing, save your game and continue another day.
Make sure not to reach the end boss of the level. If you defeat him, you may
get many points, but you could complete the level without reaching the goal.

=============================
===UC-1.4) Platinum Trophy===
There is 1 platinum trophy to unlock in this collection.

===========================
===UC-1.4.1) Platinarium===
===Requirement: Earn all other trophies for the Ultimate Collection.
Unlock all 34 Trophies to receive this trophy with the number 35!
Congratulations!
