[Sec2] ------------------------------------------------------------------------------- Playable Characters: [S2P1] Unlike in Dynasty Warriors: Gundam 2, where the pilots make friends with each other, in DW: Gundam 3 the pilots make friends with the player. This means there is only one friendship board. After pilots are introduced through the story missions, you must go to the Terminal and read their "hello" message. This is extremely important, as you cannot earn accord with these pilots, even if you play beside them in missions, until you have read this message and they appear on the friendship board under the Records tab. Once the character appears on the friendship chart, you can start to build accord with them and increase their friendship level to receive various benefits based on the individual characters. (Also, unlike DW: Gundam 2, accord never decreases, even if you shoot the pilot down in missions.) For Playable Pilots, there are five ways to earn accord with them and raise their friendship level: 1) Fight alongside them in battle. For every battle you fight on the same side as a pilot you gain a small amount of accord. This amount is slightly higher if they are active (not shot down and awaiting respawn) when you complete the mission. 2) If a pilot calls for help because they are losing a fight with another ace, you will get accord if you can get there and finish off the enemy before the friendly pilot is shot down. 3) There are special battlefield objectives that will randomly activate in the course of missions. Some of these objectives involve assisting other pilots. Successful complete one of these to earn some accord. 4) You automatically earn accord with whatever pilot you have set as your partner with every mission you undertake together. While you lose the opportunity for bonus accord from #'s 2 & 3 since they will not spawn in the mission while set to partner, you are at least guaranteed a small amount of accord every mission. 5) Play as the character. You gain a small amount of accord for every mission you play as a character as well. Since most (but not all) characters can't be selected as a partner or as a playable character until they reach level 2 and 3 friendship respectively, you are limited to methods 1-3 initially. Most pilots have a story mission in which they are introduced. A good way to get mission time with them is to replay this mission. A lot of these intro missions also involve you having to "rescue" them, so this makes these missions ideal for building accord. Like DW: Gundam 2, there are friendship missions you can perform as well. DW: Gundam 3 even has friendship missions for each Gundam series. Special Note for Fa Yuiry: [S2P1a] Even though Fa is not actually playable, she is usable as a partner and does appear on the battlefield. She therefore gains friendship the same way as the playable characters, with the exception that you cannot, of course, gain friendship by playing as her. Level 5 friendship for Playable Characters: [S2P1b] Unlike levels 2-4, pilots will not enter the level 5 bracket as soon as their accord is high enough. Once accord is high enough for Level 5 with a specific character, then it will unlock a special mission under the Relationship category under the Missions Tab. This is always a high difficulty mission and is usually restricted to that particular pilot and their primary mobile suit. (Not always though, Haman's level 5 friendship mission is actually completed by Banagher Links in his Unicorn Gundam.) Remember, getting the pilot to level 4 does not unlock their Relationship Mission automatically, you still must earn additional accord to unlock it. ------------------------------------------------------------------------------- Non-Playable Characters [S2P2] For non-playable characters, their friendship levels will depend on your relationship with the playable ones. Some of the Non-playables want you to make friends with the characters from their respective series, others prefer you to make friends with the pilots from the story chapters they are associated with. Either way, making steady progress with your playable pilots will bring these friendships along eventually as a matter of course. Unlike the playables, who's advancement in friendship is reported at the end of missions, non-playables will send you a message at each level of advancement in the Terminal. They will not advance to the next level until you have read this message. There are two characters, Astonaige Medoz and Dianna Soriel, who have a special means of gaining friendship. 1) Astonaige: Raise the Tech level of the Mobile Suit Lab by developing and upgrading mobile suits. Friendship starts at Tech Level 2 and reaches Level 5 at Tech Level 10. 2) Dianna: Complete History missions to make friends with Dianna. Her Level 1 friendship message will appear in the Terminal after you complete any 2 History Missions. Level 5 friendship is achieved when all History Missions are complete. ------------------------------------------------------------------------------- Section 3: FAQ [Sec3] ------------------------------------------------------------------------------- Q: How do I unlock the various History Missions? A: The History Missions have various unlock conditions just to make them show up in the mission list. Some of them require certain chapters to be complete, others seem to require that all of the History Missions from one or more other series are complete, and some need Terminal events. All seem to require a certain level of friendship with the pilots involved in the mission to play it once it's been unlocked. (Usually L1 to 4, but in some cases L5 friendship is needed.) These requirements are hard to predict, and don't seem to follow any set logic. Q: Can you tell me how to unlock a specific set of History Missions then? A: No, not really. All I can really advise you to do is to complete all the Story Missions in all of the various chapters, to make Level 5 friends with everyone, and to clear the various History Missions ASAP after they unlock. This should get you through all of them eventually. Q: Do you have any tips on which Pilots/MS are best? A: No, so don't bother asking; you'll be ignored. If you want information on Pilot or MS stats and abilities, consult an appropriate guide that someone else has made. Q: Can you tell me how to unlock skills, movies, or BMG's? A: No. The only advice I'm going to give you is to complete all missions, and make level 5 friends out of everybody. Succeed in this, and the rest should come as a matter of course. If you're having trouble with completing the missions, consult a walkthrough. You'll notice I don't have a full blown walkthrough, and I can tell you I'm NOT going to, so don't bother bugging me about this, you'll be ignored. Q: What about The Black Tri-Stars, and Yazan's wingmen? You don't mention them in this guide, but they show up as pilots in missions. Why is that? A: They're not in this guide because you can't play as them, ypu cant use them as Operators or Partners, and you can't make friends with them. Q: Are they part of the Character Gallery then? A: Yes. I'm not 100% sure how to unlock them there, but I think it's through viewing certain Terminal messages sent by M'Quve & Yazan once they hit level 3 friendship and become playable. ------------------------------------------------------------------------------- Section 4: Contact & Guide Display Information [Sec4] ------------------------------------------------------------------------------- This guide was created for display on gamefaqs.com.
