This game is hosted on Gamespot��s own GameFAQs and is sponsored by GameFAQs. ------------------------------------------------ Game details [DBRB-2000] This new game created by Bandai-Namco Game is called Dragonball Raging Blast. Many say this game is the Dragonball Z Budokai Tenkaichi series and many say this is a new game, who is correct, what do you think? I personally think this new game is Dragonballz Budokai Tenkaichi-alike however, not the same. Because this game has a similar fighting system to the Dragonballz Budokai Tenkaichi series but the fighting system is not the same. The main thing which caught players�� eyes are not only because this is a game of the Dragonball series as Bandai Namco Games is using 60 FPS (frame rate) to develop this game which brings a new view on the Dragonball games. Because this game runs a lot smoother and more dynamic than the previous series and this 60 FPS is one of the selling points to this game. This game was released on the following dates Dragonball Raging Blast �V European Edition �V 13/11/2009 Dragonball Raging Blast �V American Edition �V 10/11/2009 Dragonball Raging Blast �V Australian Edition �V 19/11/2009 Dragonball Raging Blast �V Japanese Edition �V 12/11/2009 ------------------------------------------------ Ghost_Crisis �V Fighting System [DBRB-2001] This is what Ghost_Crisis [GameFAQ] talked about the fighting system: The fighting system is somewhat of a variation on Budokai Tenkaichi 3, with some welcome additions. As noted, the game has a cancel system that is unique to each character, so training is crucial to figuring out how to effectively utilize each fighter. During combat, a yellow streak of lightning will flash across the screen for a split second if you used a true cancel which guarantees you a follow up from your previous combo, whereas a red streak will show that you did not have the correct timing for the cancel. Some people have quick and easy cancels such as a Rush Attack X5 + Super Blast, and some have more complicated ones such as Rush Attack X2, Signature Attack, Rush X5, Ultimate. The combo system is a lot more complex than previous iterations of the game series, but not overwhelming. Also, note that in the previous games, you had a Blast Guage that was used for mainly buffers. In DB:RB, ALL special moves (Beams, buffers, useless Ginyu Dances) use Ki. ------------------------------------------------ Basic Control [DBRB-2002] These are basic controls, you can switch these later. The ones labelled * cannot be switched. D-Pad stands for direction pad, direction pad is the 4 buttons you have on the left side of your controller. You normally use it to play games such as Street Fighters. L3 is the joystick button on the left, this button is named 3rd left button. R3 is the joystick button on the right, this button is named 3rd right button. Heres something cool about the life indicator, when you have your ki to maximum (ultimate charged) the life indicator shows light sparks similar to lighting, its as if this is a dangerous fighter and is now ready to battle! http://img.photobucket.com/albums/v253/slith/ ultimate.jpg The clock is on the same spot as usual, it is in the middle of the screen but the timer disappears when the battle is going on, it will only show when there are 30 seconds remaining to the battle. I think this system is lovely. Money and the Loading Screen [DBRB-2022] Many people do not know why you have to collect capsule that turns into dust during loading screens because many do not know how to spend the money in this game. They��re money, the more the better! You can spend them in ultimate customize, when you��re in Customise Deck, press the special button (Triangle for Playstation 3) you��ll be directed to the shop screen to purchase items. ------------------------------------------------ Menu Description [DBRB-2003] This game has 9 Major modes and they��re: Dragon Battle Collection �V This mode lets you play through the original story of Dragon Ball, as well as some What-If stories. Super Battle Trial �V This mode lets you compete in ranked battles with various different rules Versus �V This competitive fighting mode lets you choose characters and stages for battle against your friend or computer offline. Online Battle �V This mode allows you to compete in battles online. World Tournament �V This world lets you compete in a tournament for up to 16 players offline. Ultimate Customize �V This mode lets you customize items and Super Attacks equipped on your characters. Dojo �V This mode lets you learn various battle controls, as well as practice to your heart��s content. Museum �V This mode lets you view the character Encyclopaedia, watch replay data, and listen to in-game music. Options �V This mode lets you change various in-game options. To unlock stars, first you have to complete a mission in any difficulty once then go back to the mission you have just completed, a new menu will appear called ��Mission. Each stage has 3 missions and each mission gives you a star. Other than this mission: ��Finish on Hard difficulty�� you do not need to complete the other missions under the hard difficulty. However, if you like to, no one can stop you. Now that you have a star, the first thing you want to know is ��How do I spend this star?�� First go back to the saga selection screen, then scroll left or right and you should see a ��saga�� says Star Shop, click in there and you��ll reach Star Shop to purchase the items. My suggest is, do a lot of combos and super attacks, however, if you are not good with combos then use super rising (Rise button and Descend button (flying buttons)) to escape from your opponent, charge your ki to max then tab DA twice (Dash key) and you should end up behind your opponent, press MA once to knock him around and use your ultimate attack. It requests you to deflect ki blasts while they do nothing but attacking you with super attacks or melee attacks. Therefore, I suggest skipping it. However, if you really want to do this there is a method. Stay away from your opponent but in a range where ki blasts lands, and charge your ki, the opponent will want to stop you from charging so they will attack you with 2 ki blasts maximum, deflect these blasts. To deflect a blast, there are three methods. Method one, stand still and defence as the ki blasts comes. Method two, move forward or back (do not press DA) and then spam the defence key, your character should now be deflecting blasts even if there are no blasts. Method three, use a DA to your opponent, the aura around you is too heavy for the ki blasts to handle, that��s why you wan deflect ki blasts with it. Prelude to the Perfect Form ---------------------------------------------------------- Battle underwater for a long time Exactly same as BATTLE ON GROUND FOR A LONG TIME, all you have to do is lure your opponent to under water and keep on doing MA > MO-down > KS for sweep attack, this attack does not do a lot of damage but very effective, so keep on doing it. You can use super and ultimate attacks however, that may ruin your stage as it may kill your opponent too quickly. So give it time and keep on doing sweep attacks underwater. This is what you need to do, Go on the wall (any side of the wall will do) and do super rising there (make sure you have enough ki) and when you��re doing super rising, quickly use super attack it should hit. The reason why I suggest to be on the wall is because it limits the spaces of where your opponent can be, so it gives you a higher chance to hit. The Battle of the Universe And that��s pretty much all you can do with Dragon Battle Collection Alright let��s move to the next mode, SUPER BATTLE TRIAL!!!!!!!!! ---------------------------------------------------------- Super Battle Trials [DBRB-2032] This mode allows you to play this game like all the other fighting games as they have included modes such as Survival mode, Arcade etc. This mode is the only mode where can Dragonball mode, and I can dare you, you��ll be playing this mode for quite sometime! Oh and you know what the best thing is? The best thing is that you can use your customised characters! This means you��ll be able to do 10000 damage on every super, and that also means the match will end quickly! To have a character that deals 10000 damage, go and play Dragon Battle Collection first, then you should unlock some Super and Ultimate decks where you can boost the attack power, equip everything you find, Small Medium and Large and you should have 63 Super attack level. This should give you 10000 damage per super attacks and 20000 per ultimate attacks. Note this does not work online because you cannot rely on super / ultimate attacks too much online. Here are some hints on what I equip for Super Battle Trial. This is my deck list, hopefully it benefits. *Reduce Charge Time *Ground Attack Up S *Ki Charge Speed Up *High-Tension Time Expand S *High-Tension Time Expand L *High-Tension Start *Defense Up S *Beautiful Roll *Super Attack Power Up S *Super Attack Power Up M *Super Attack Power Up L *Shot Exchange Advantage Character Chosen: Trunks (Fighting Teen) Super Saiyan Skill 1: Burning Attack (Use it only when enemy is far) Skill 2: Change The Future (Spam this) Skill 3: Another End Skill 4: Masenko (This is just the filler) Not all the modes are unlocked from the starts, everytime you complete one Super Battle Trial, one mode will be unlocked for you to enjoy. Arcade [DBRB-2321] Mode Description: Go through the stages and defeat all the enemies that appear. Your health is refilled after each battle. Arcade has 10 stages, and after these 10 stages you��ll get a dragonball mode for you to collect a dragonball. ---------------------------------------------------------- Survival [DBRB-2322] Mode Description: Choose a stage and see how many enemies you can defeat. Your health is refilled a little after each battle. In the survival mode you get unlimited time, limited health and 50 opponents to face. You get to choose your battle stadium (Wasteland, rocky island and so on). Therefore, everything should be at your favour. After every battle the system will regenerate some of you HP, so try and perfect them all! ---------------------------------------------------------- Time Attack [DBRB-2323] Mode Description: It��s you against five enemies, each with a little less health than usual. How quick can you defeat them? In this mode, you pick a fighter to face off 5 other fighters. Their HP is reduced to 2 health bars. You have 15 minutes to kill everyone. Kill them quickly, like you always do, that��s the best hint. ---------------------------------------------------------- Score Attack [DBRB-2324] Mode Description: Earn points for each successful action and skill. Try to get as many points as you can against an invincible enemy. May this be the hardest in Super Battle Trial because the highest score is quite hard to beat as it is 3000 scores. There is a scoreboard in the game, you have to do things in there to get high points. During Bonus time, your score is doubled. To activate bonus time you need to kill your opponent, so here is a little tip I found. Tip: Pick your opponent as chiaotzu or videl as they��re the weakest fighters in this game with the lowest health. Videl has weaker defence than Chiaotzu, plus Videl can��t paralyze you so I would go with Videl. You can kill her with two hits if your customise character does 10000+ damage per super attack, oh and just to make things easier, equip BEAUTIFUL ROLL on Videl, this way her ground time will not be too long. Another method to replace beautiful roll is pick the following area: Damaged Namek or Rocky Island, these two areas do NOT have a ground, so there is no rolling time. Then you��re off to the bonus time, I did not count how long the bonus time is but do remember use it wisely. ---------------------------------------------------------- KO Attack [DBRB-2325] Mode Description: You��ve got infinite health and ki. How many enemies can you take down before time expires? You are locked in your chosen stage with infinite health and ki for 300 seconds (5 minutes). You have to kill as many opponents as you can. I can��t really give you hints. If you want to make this quick, customise your character and give him all the SUPER and ULTIMATE attack boost, this will benefit a lot because you can do 10000+ damage per super attack. ---------------------------------------------------------- Destruction Attack [DBRB-2326] Mode Description: Defeat the enemies in the city and try to destroy as many buildings as you can! Equip this ��Dash Secret��. I got 4300 score just now when I was typing this FAQ thanks to this item. Fly around without Ki down, what more do you want? ---------------------------------------------------------- Team Battle [DBRB-2327] Mode Description: Form a team and work your way through the battle challenges. This mode gives you 10 battles and you have to defeat everyone but at the same time score a good score. Again if you can do 10000 damage per super attack these missions are not much of a challenge. ---------------------------------------------------------- Extreme Battle [DBRB-2328] Mode Description: A ranked battle against the strongest of warriors. This mode gives you 10 challenges and all of these characters ARE CUSTOMISED. So it is pretty much a battle against customised characters. Maximum damage in this mode is 15000 even for ultimate attacks. I cannot give any tips or hints other than�K use your best character to do this, Kid Buu and Vegito spam don��t work in this mode because their snap vanishing is too great. Therefore, bring a character that you can combo with. ---------------------------------------------------------- Punching Machine [DBRB-2329] Mode Description: Punch the Punching Machine and show your power. If Successful, you can hit it consecutively. This is a mini game. You have a bar, this bar is your strength bar. You press the Melee button to begin, and when you reach to a place where you want to stop. When you reach the yellow / green area, you��ll enter bonus time and the bonus time will continue if you can hit on the yellow / green bar again and again. When you reach about 1000 points and you miss, Videl will smack her face and break the machine, just how heavy is she? The tip to this game is to be focus and practice a lot. ---------------------------------------------------------- Dragon Ball Battle [DBRB-23210] Mode Description: Get a Dragon Ball when each opponent you defeat! In Extreme battle, 9th spot - Tien or 10th spot Yamcha. They're the weakest of them all and it is easy to defeat, so I suggest to keep playing on Extreme Battle vs them You can repeat the match again to obtain dragon balls. Remember spam the Change the Future skill if you use my setup as Trunks. It has the FASTEST recharge time and it is a fast skill. you'll have all 7 dragon balls within 1 hour. So this mode allows you to pick your character and your opponent, if you want to torture Videl, if you want to kill Goku, if you want Goku to be the super villain, fight your friends, it��s all in here. ---------------------------------------------------------- Single Battle [DBRB-2331] A One-on-one battle Not much to talk about, it is a 1 on 1 battle. ---------------------------------------------------------- Team Battle [DBRB-2332] A battle between teams of up to five people. The mode description described it all, you can have up to 5 people per team. This is a good mode to play because you always get messed up with transformation and switch out. ---------------------------------------------------------- Power Battle [DBRB-2333] A Special battle wehere you form balanced team based off the strength (power levels) of its members. There are 5 modes in here, 20, 40, 60, 80, 100. We know what your power levels are from Ultimate Customise so if you have some power level 38 then you can only pick 2 characters. I personally don��t like this mode, why lock the power levels when you can set them free? The power level doesn��t explain anything, it��s the user. I can beat a team of Broly, Goku and Vegeta using Guldo, Videl and Chiaotzu so it is all about the users. ---------------------------------------------------------- Options [DBRB-2334] You can customise the fighting style in here, for example time and CPU strength. For time we have 180, 300, 600, 900 seconds and unlimited time. For CPU Strength we have Very weak, weak, normal, strong, very strong. ---------------------------------------------------------- Online Battle [DBRB-2034] This mode allows you to compete in battles online. Yep it allows you to play online. There are 6 modes. Customise characters can be used in this mode, however, it can also be disabled. Make sure you read the rules before you begin the battle. ---------------------------------------------------------- Ranked Match [DBRB-2341] Wage a battle against another player. Your battle points and ranking will change depending on the result. This is the place where the famous Super Vegito, Kid Buu, Piccolo, Disconnections belong. Your ranks change in this battle. You get battle points if you win and you lose battle points if you lose. Here are the ranks. H, H+, H++, G, G+, G++, F, F+, F++, E, E+, E++, D, D+, D++, C, C+, C++, B, B+, B++, A, A+ and last but not least A++ The rank is supposed to show how good you��re but because there are so many disconnectionists and skill spammers, the ranking is not accurate. You can create a room and wait for another player to join, or you can do a quick or custom search for players from all around the world. ---------------------------------------------------------- Player Match [DBRB-2342] Wage a battle against another player. Your battle points and ranking will not be affected by the results. This is the place where you can your friends from another place can have fun online. Your battle record will still be recorded saying how many wins and how many losses but it does not affect your rank at all. You can go in this mode, quickly find a match to play or you can search a match using your custom queries or you can create a match make it private or available for everybody. When you have it private, you can also invite your friends to play with you using the Sony Playstation Network and Microsoft Xbox Live network. ---------------------------------------------------------- World Tournament [DBRB-2343] Hold a World Tournament with a group of players. Your battle points and ranking will not be affected by the results. You can hold a tournament, you can make this tournament private and saiyan only and so on. The requirement settings are exactly same as setting the tournament offline. You can invite your friends to join your tournament (even if you��re not the holder), you can also wait for players to join into your tournament. Tournaments can be hosted by a group of friends using online messengers systems or forum, message boards. Set up some tournaments and have fun! ---------------------------------------------------------- Friend Match [DBRB-2344] Wage a battle against a friend who is inviting you. Why is it always WAGE A BATTLE? I mean how much is it to wage a battle against your friend?! Anyway back to the subject. This world tournament takes place in the SMALLEST arena ingame, the world tournament stage. If you like this stage over Cell game stay here, I personally like it more because its small and less area for the opponent to avoid my attacks. Play 2 players AFTER you unlock everything, it is more fun that way! ---------------------------------------------------------- Cell Games [DBRB-2352] Fight in a tournament until a champion is crowned. Your health will be refilled a little between bouts. If you win the tournament using only one character, you will receive a prize. Same as before, other than if you lose health it will affect your next battle. ---------------------------------------------------------- Tournament Options [DBRB-2353] You can change the options from Max Participants of 4 to 16, also you can change the difficulty from easy to hard. Each character is different but the deck area is the same. In order to purchase more items, go into this mode and press the Item List button (Triangle for Sony Playstation 3). The item list mode in the earlier screen DOES NOT purchase you anything. You have to go into Customize Deck and press the Item List key to go further on purchasing. Alternatively you can enter this mode by going into character selection screen and when you��re choosing which custom character to choose (1, 2, 3) you press the button (square for Playstation 3). ---------------------------------------------------------- Customize Super Attacks [DBRB-2362] You can customise your characters�� super attacks in this mode. You enter this mode and you have 4 blocks of skills to change. Different characters have different skills and many skills are required to be unlocked using the tournament mode. There are many characters with no more than 4 skills, but that does not mean this mode is useless for them because you can still customise their activate skills slot in order to suit your needs. Sorry but you cannot customise ultimate attacks. Alternatively you can enter this mode by going to the character selection screen and as you see Custom 1, 2 or 3 you press a button (Triangle for Playstation 3) to customise the skills of your selected character. ---------------------------------------------------------- Item List [DBRB-2363] This list is the list to show what items you have and how many you have mastered (collected). Not very useful but if you��re planning on getting all the trophies then it is useful. ---------------------------------------------------------- Super Attack List [DBRB-2364] In this mode you can see how many skills you have missed for the character you have chosen. The list will show how many skills you have obtained and if you have every skill. As the mode description described, this mode is for you to practice your skills. There are 3 classes, Beginners, Basic and Advanced while there are 2 free training exercises. These dojo exercises teach you every single basic skills there are such as rush attacks, ki blasts, basic cancel attacks and so on, however I am assure you these are NOT everything. If you think by doing these will get you off playing hard all the way from beginning till the end then please think again. Dojo is similar to school. Primary school is beginner, you learn how to move, how to shoot ki blasts and how to punch. Secondary school is basic, you learn how to do skirmishes, transformations etc while Advanced is university where you learn the hardest thing of the game such as Pursuit Attacks, Feints etc. However, you can��t learn a few and expect to know everything because there are still many to go and that is exactly the reason why there are free training on single and team battles. Go through the dojo training and you��ll be able to play hard from the start till the end throughout the whole story mode. ---------------------------------------------------------- Museum [DBRB-2038] This mode lets you view the Character Encyclopaedia, watch replay data, and listen to in-game music. ---------------------------------------------------------- Character Encyclopaedia [DBRB-2381] In this mode you can view the details of each character including Super Saiyan 3 Vegeta and Super Saiyan 3 Broly and how the idea came along. You can see if there are any new voice actors etc. ---------------------------------------------------------- BGM Collection [DBRB-2382] In this mode you listen to music. When you��re listening to music you can choose the quotes appeared in the story mode. For example Vegeta vs Goku on the rocky island, Gohan gets mad at Frieza and so on! ---------------------------------------------------------- View Replay [DBRB-2383] After each versus play you get the chance to save the replay and you can view the saved replay in here. ---------------------------------------------------------- Options [DBRB-2039] You get to change what they allow you to change in the game, for example the screen, lighter or darker, subtitles on or off etc. Also we have sound, whether you want to listen to the BGM of the game, their talking voice also if you want to listen to the English voice acts or the Japanese version. ---------------------------------------------------------- Screen [DBRB-2391] As mentioned above, you can change the brightness of the game.
