Fan Status Levels ========================= You will accumulate Fans during every event and the more you earn, the faster you will reach higher Fan Status Levels and unlock faster cars. You gain Fans by landing Power-Ups, evading Power-Ups, various driving techniques, as well as being far enough ahead of the other drivers. You can also earn Fans by completing Fan Runs and Fan Demands during the events. In Fan Runs, you will have to drive through glowing gates. The faster you drive through them, the more Fans you earn. However, if you miss one gate or time runs out, the challenge will immediately end and you will have to restart the challenge on the next lap. Fan Demands don't appear until the third stage. Fan Demands give you a mini-challenge to complete in a certain amount of time. Finish the challenge to receive the number of Fans remaining on the counter Fan Status Level-Fans Needed ---------------------------- Level 1-0 Fans Level 2-700 Fans Level 3-3,350 Fans Level 4-6,300 Fans Level 5-9,800 Fans Level 6-14,300 Fans Level 7-18,400 Fans Level 8-22,880 Fans Level 9-27,500 Fans Level 10-32,800 Fans Level 11-37,850 Fans Level 12-43,450 Fans Level 13-53,900 Fans Level 14-60,600 Fans Level 15-67,700 Fans Level 16-75,100 Fans Level 17-82,800 Fans Level 18-90,850 Fans Level 19-99,250 Fans Level 20-116,900 Fans Level 21-125,750 Fans Level 22-136,750 Fans Level 23-147,150 Fans Level 24-158,200 Fans Level 25-170,300 Fans =============== BLUR2. Vehicles =============== Vehicles in Blur are divided amongst 4 classes: A, B, C, and D Class vehicles. Class A Vehicles are better than the others overall, while Class D vehicles are worse than the rest. To unlock each car, you must earn enough Fans to reach the specified Fan Status Level. Each car has 5 stats. The first is Acceleration, which measures how fast it gains speed from a stop. Speed measures how fast the car can go. Grip measures how well the car corners while going through turns. The higher this number, the less likely it is to drift on its own. The lower this number, the more likely it is to drift on its own. Difficulty measures how easy or hard it is to maintain control of the car. All of these stats max out at 5. The fifth stat is Health, which measures how many hits the car can take before it wrecks. Faster and smaller cars will usually have a lower Health rating, while bigger and slower vehicles will have a higher Health rating. Health ratings range from 5 to 7. Cars are also classified based on their stats or how they handle ==================== BLUR2A. Career ============= Career mode is split into 9 different groups and at the end of each group in a boss. To face the boss, you must first meet certain Demands that will change from boss to boss. Once all the boss' Demands have been met, you will unlock a new car and be able to face the boss in a One-on-One race. You will only be able to use the car that is similar to the car the boss(es) use. To progress through the Career, you need to earn enough Lights to unlock groups. In Race and other events, there are only 7 Lights that can be earned. In One-on-One events, 8 Lights can be earned. You can earn Lights in Race events by finishing in the Top 3 (5 Lights for 1st, 4 for 2nd, and 3 for 3rd), earning enough Fans, and successfully passing Fan Runs. In One-on-One events, all lights can be earned by defeating the boss. By defeating the boss', you will receive the boss' car with the boss' livery on it. You will also receive a Power-Up Mod that can be equipped to your cars. ======================= BLUR3A. Proving Grounds ======================= Boss: Shannon Unlocked from the beginning 50 Lights available Shannon's Demands ----------------- Land 80 Offensive Power-Ups Earn 7,000 Fans Finish 4 events in 4 different cars Pass 5 events Event 1: Barcelona Oval (Speedway) Event Type: Race Class D Cars 3 Laps Primary Goal: 3rd Fan Target: 900 Fans Fan Run: Pass 12 Gates Event 2: Amboy (Route 66) Event Type: Race Class D Cars 2 Laps Primary Goal: 3rd Fan Target: 1,200 Fans Fan Run: Pass 12 Gates Event 3: Brighton (Promenade Loop) Event Type: Destruction Class D Cars Primary Goal: 20 points Fan Target: 1,200 Fans Fan Run: Pass 12 Gates In Destruction events, the only Power-Up available is Bolt. There will be other cars driving around that you will need to destroy to add time to the clock and points to your score. All enemy cars in this event will be green. Green rivals only take one hit to destroy, but will fire a Bolt backwards after being hit. To win this event, you need a score of at least 80. Event 4: LA Docks (Pacific Reach) Event Type: Race Class D Cars 3 Laps Primary Goal: 3rd Fan Target: 1,300 Fans Fan Run: Pass 12 Gates Event 5: Amboy (Badlands Traverse) Event Type: Race Class D Cars 2 Laps Primary Goal: 3rd Fan Target: 1,300 Fans Fan Run: Pass 12 Gates Event 6: LA River (Concrete Basin) Event Type: Destruction Class D Cars Primary Goal: 20 points Fan Target: 1,200 Fans Fan Run: Pass 12 Gates In addition to the green enemies will be yellow enemies, as well. Yellow cars take two shots to destroy, but will leave a mine once they have been destroyed. You need 80 points to get the win Event 7: Brighton (Seafront Strip) Event Type: One-on-One Class D Car Restriction: Renault R230 F1 Team R26 2 Laps Primary Goal: Defeat Shannon There are 2 ways to win One-on-One events: Win the race outright or destroy the Boss' car. If you choose to destroy Shannon's car, hang back in 2nd and keep picking up ranged Power-Ups (Shunt, Bolt, Mine) and try not to stay directly behind her for too long. Power-Ups are scattered across the track, instead of being lined up like in the other events. Defeat Shannon to earn her car, as well as the Overbolt Mod, which allows you to fire 4 shots whenever you pick up a Bolt Power-up ===================== BLUR3B. City Slickers ===================== Boss: Khan Unlocked after earning 25 Lights 50 Lights available Khan's Demands -------------- Shield against 3 Power-ups Evade 3 Shock fields Collect 40 Stopwatches Pass Event 5 with 14 seconds left For the "Evade 3 Shock fields" demand, you must pass through all 3 fields that appear from a single use. You can use a Shield to pass through, but if you are caught in one of the three, it will not count towards the demand Event 1: LA Downtown (Harbor Freeway) Event Type: Checkpoint Class D Cars Primary Goal: 0.0 seconds Fan Target: 2,000 Fans Fan Run: Pass 12 Gates In Checkpoint events, there will be Checkpoints scattered around the track. They never move and essentially, this event is 3 Laps long. The only Power-Ups available are Stopwatches, which add 2 seconds to your time, and Nitro. To win these events, you need to have at least 20.0 seconds left on the clock Event 2: LA River (Concrete Basin) Event Type: Race Class D Cars 3 Laps Primary Goal: 3rd Fan Target: 1,600 Fans Fan Run: Pass 12 Gates Event 3: Tokyo Shutoko (Wangan-sen) Event Type: Race Class D Cars 2 Laps Primary Goal: 3rd Fan Target: 900 Fans Fan Run: Pass 12 Gates Event 4: SanFran Sausalito (Golden Gate Rush) Event Type: Race Class D Cars 2 Laps Primary Goal: 3rd Fan Target: 1,400 Fans Fan Run: Pass 12 Gates Event 5: LA Docks (Pacific Reach) Event Type: Checkpoint Class C Cars Primary Goal: 0.0 seconds Fan Target: 1,700 Fans Fan Run: Pass 12 Gates Choose a car that fits your driving style. As long as you don't hit too many walls or need to be reset on the track, you should be able to finish with more than 14 seconds remaining. For the most part, you can turn picking-up the Power-Ups into a useful racing line. Just go to the right at every split (except the first one), and pick-up as many Stopwatches as you can and use Nitro whenever you can, and you should be able to finish with more than 20 seconds left Event 6: Barcelona Oval (City Breach) Event Type: Race Class D Cars 2 Laps Primary Goal: 3rd Fan Target: 1,200 Fans Fan Run: Pass 12 Gates Event 7: Barcelona Gracia (Posseig de Gracia) Event Type: One-on-One Class D Car Restriction: Foose Stallion Ford Mustang Primary Goal: Beat Khan You will want to use the Overbolt Mod you won from Shannon. Whenever he doesn't have a Shield active, fire off all 4 rounds in quick succession. There are also a couple Shunts scattered around the course, but he will usually fend them off using Barge. In the turn after the first set of Power-Ups, there is a breakable fence along the inside of the turn, and if you go through it, you will be reset onto the track and have lost valuable seconds. Defeat Khan to earn the Titanium Shield Mod, which increases the strength of Shield Power-Ups ==================== BLUR3C. Fan Favorite ==================== Boss: Rhymer Unlocked by earning 50 Lights 50 Lights available Rhymer's Demands ---------------- Complete 5 Fan Demands Complete 2 Fan Runs Complete 4 Fan Targets Win Event 5 with one x5 Fan Combo Event 1: LA Downtown (Highrise Ring) Event Type: Race Class C Cars 3 Laps Primary Goal: 3rd Fan Target: 1,800 Fans Fan Run: Pass 12 Gates Event 2: LA Docks (Pacific Reach) Event Type: Destruction Class D Cars Primary Goal: 30 points Fan Target: 1,400 Fans Fan Run: Pass 12 Gates This is the first Destruction event that features Red enemies. Red enemies take 3 Bolts to destroy. When these enemies are destroyed, they will fire a Shunt backwards. To get the win, you will need 120 points Event 3: Brighton (Coastal Cruise) Event Type: Race Class C Cars 3 Laps Primary Goal: 3rd Fan Target: 1,600 Fans Fan Run: Pass 12 Gates Event 4: Amboy (Route 66) Event Type: Checkpoint Class B Cars Primary Goal: 0.0 seconds Fan Target: 1,900 Fans Fan Run: Pass 12 Gates This event is two laps long. You will need to have at least 20 seconds remaining on the clock to get the win. Event 5: Barcelona Gracia (Posseig de Gracia) Event Type: Race Class C Cars 3 Laps Primary Goal: 3rd Fan Target: 1,300 Fans Fan Run: Pass 12 Gates To be able to face Rhymer in his One-on-One, you will need to earn at least one x5 Fan Multiplier and go onto win. To raise your Fan Multiplier, you must perform scoring moves in quick succession. It is useful to have Overbolt equipped so you'll have en extra Bolt shot. Event 6: LA Docks (Cargo Run) Event Type: Checkpoint Class B Cars Primary Goal: 0.0 seconds Fan Target: 1,900 Fans Fan Run: Pass 12 Gates Event 7: LA River (Stormdrain Surge) Event Type: One-on-One Class C Car Restriction: Chevrolet Camaro SS Primary Goal: Beat Rhymer Having Overbolt equipped is recommended for the extra shot and because Bolt Power-ups appear more often than Shields do. Defeat Rhymer to earn the Fan Nitro Mod, which automatically awards you with a Nitro Power-up (As long as you have an empty Power-up slot) for every 500 Fans earned. ====================== BLUR3D. Crash and Burn ====================== Boss: Drayke Unlocked by earning 75 Lights 50 Lights available Drayke's Demands ---------------- Barge 1 car into the water Wreck 100 cars Barge 5 cars Got 6 Lights in Event 6 Event 1: LA Downtown (Harbor Freeway) Event Type: Destruction Class B Cars Primary Goal: 35 points Fan Target: 2,200 Fans Fan Run: Pass 12 Gates To get the win, you will need to score at least 140 points Event 2: Barcelona Gracia (Posseig de Gracia) Event Type: Destruction Class B Cars Primary Goal: 40 points Fan Target: 1,900 Fans Fan Run: Pass 12 Gates You will need at least 160 points to get the win Event 3: LA Docks (Cargo Run) Event Type: Race Class C Cars 2 Laps Primary Goal: 3rd Fan Target: 1,800 Fans Fan Run: Pass 12 Gates This is the only place where you are able to Barge cars into the water. There are a couple spots near the beginning and end of each lap where this can be accomplished Event 4: LA River (Stormdrain Surge) Event Type: Destruction Class D Cars Primary Goal: 35 points Fan Target: 2,000 Fans Fan Run: Pass 12 Gates You will need at least 140 points to get the win in this event Event 5: Barcelona Gracia (El Carmel Heights) Event Type: Race Class C Cars 3 Laps Primary Goal: 3rd Fan Target: 2,000 Fans Fan Run: Pass 12 Gates Event 6: Brighton (Coastal Cruise) Event Type: Destruction Class D Cars Primary Goal: 30 points Fan Target: 1,700 Fans Fan Run: Pass 12 Gates To win this event, you will need at least 120 points Event 7: SanFran Russian Hill (Russian Steppes) Event Type: One-on-One Class C Car Restriction: Hummer H2 (Off-Road) 3 Laps Primary Goal: Beat Drayke This One-on-One will take longer than the others you would have participated in up to this point, mainly because Drayke's vehicle has more Health than the cars the other bosses drive. Defeat Drayke to earn the Super Shunt Mod, which increases the power of your Shunt Power-ups =========================== BLUR3E. Ruthless Aggression =========================== Boss: Natalya Unlocked by earning 110 Lights 50 Lights available Natalya's Demands ----------------- Reverse Shunt 5 cars Hit multiple cars with 5 Barges Shock 10 cars Complete the Fan Run in Event 6 Event 1: LA Downtown (The Money Run) Event Type: Race Class B Cars 2 Laps Primary Goal: 3rd Fan Target: 1,600 Fans Fan Run: Pass 12 Gates Event 2: Hollywood Hills (Hollywood Rift) Event Type: Destruction Class A Cars Primary Goal: 40 points Fan Target: 2,000 Fans Fan Run: Pass 12 Gates You will need to score at least 160 points to win this event Event 3: Brighton (Promenade Loop) Event Type: Race Class B Cars 3 Laps Primary Goal: 3rd Fan Target: 1,500 Fans Fan Run: Pass 12 Gates Event 4: Hackney (Shoreditch Sweep) Event Type: Checkpoint Class C Cars Primary Goal: 0.0 seconds Fan Target: 1,800 Fans Fan Run: Pass 12 Gates Event 5: Tokyo Shutoko (Bayshore Route) Event Type: Destruction Class B Cars Primary Goal: 45 points Fan Target: 2,100 Fans Fan Run: Pass 12 Gates You will need at least 180 points to get the win Event 6: Amboy (Route 66) Event Type: Race Class B Cars 3 Laps Primary Goal: 3rd Fan Target: 2,600 Fans Fan Run: Pass 12 Gates Event 7: SanFran Sausalito (Bay Area Tour) Event Type: One-on-One Class B Car Restriction: BMW Concept 1 Series tii (Race) 2 Laps Primary Goal: Beat Natalya In this event, it may be a better idea to have Super Shunt equipped rather than Overbolt. The reason being is because Natalya will take off and is very defensive, often using Barge to destroy incoming Power-Ups, leaving only Shock and Shunt as the only ones that can track her. Defeat her to earn the Quadshock Mod, which gives you an extra Shock dome when equipped =================== BLUR3F. Midas Touch =================== Boss: Talon Unlocked by earning 140 Lights 50 Lights available Talon's Demands --------------- Drift a total of 1,500 meters Destroy 4 Power-ups Execute 4 clean, triple Nitros Earn 25 Lights Event 1: Hollywood Hills (Hollywood Rift) Event Type: Checkpoint Class C Cars Primary Goal: 0.0 seconds Fan Target: 1,000 Fans Fan Run: Pass 12 Gates For this event, you will want to use a car that fits your driving style, whether it is Grippy or Drifty. During this event, you will only find Stopwatches; no Nitros are present, which is why the Fan Target is so low Event 2: Hackney (Urban Belt) Event Type: Race Class B Cars 3 Laps Primary Goal: 3rd Fan Target: 2,200 Fans Fan Run: Pass 12 Gates Event 3: SanFran Russian Hill (Russian Steppes) Event Type: Checkpoint Class B Cars Primary Goal: 0.0 seconds Fan Target: 1,600 Fans Fan Run: Pass 12 Gates Event 4: LA Downtown (The Money Run) Event Type: Race Class B Cars 2 Laps Primary Goal: 3rd Fan Target: 1,400 Fans Fan Run: Pass 12 Gates Event 5: Barcelona Gracia (Catalan Climb) Event Type: Checkpoint Class C Cars Primary Goal: 0.0 seconds Fan Target: 2,100 Fans Fan Run: Pass 12 Gates This is probably the only place to get a clean, triple Nitro. There are a few straights that are long enough to get them, but it depends on which car you choose to use. You will want to use a car with a low Speed rating, like the Audi TTS Coupe, so that way you don't have to worry about taking too much speed into a turn Event 6: LA Downtown (Highrise Ring) Event Type: Race Class B Cars 3 Laps Primary Goal: 3rd Fan Target: 1,500 Fans Fan Run: Pass 12 Gates Event 7: NY Dumbo (Manhattan View) Event Type: One-on-One Class B Car Restriction: Chevrolet Corvette ZR1 2 Laps Primary Goal: Beat Talon Talon will usually try to outrace you rather than use Power-Ups against you. Every now and again, he will pick up a Nitro, but his timing isn't the best and will occasionally lose Health by running into a wall. Defeating him will allow you to use the Armor Plating Mod, which will reduce the damage sustained from heavy Power-Ups ===================== BLUR3G. Double Damage ===================== Boss: Ayumi and Harumi Unlocked by earning 185 Lights 50 Lights available Twins Demands ------------- Forward Mine 5 cars Nitro-ram 5 cars Get 10 Bonus hits in Destruction Wreck 1 car and finish first in Event 6 Event 1: Tokyo Shutoko (Wangan-sen) Event Type: Race Class A Cars 3 Laps Primary Goal: 3rd Fan Target: 1,700 Fans Fan Run: Pass 12 Gates Event 2: LA Downtown (Highrise Ring) Event Type: Destruction Class A Cars Primary Goal: 50 points Fan Target: 2,500 Fans Fan Run: Pass 12 Gates This event is the first time that you will see Blue enemies. Blue enemies take one shot to destroy and, when destroyed, emit a Barge attack. These are useful for getting the Bonus hits you need to face the Twins. To win this event, you will need at least 200 points Event 3: Hollywood Hills (Downtown Vista) Event Type: Checkpoint Class A Cars Primary Goal: 0.0 seconds Fan Target: 1,100 Fans Fan Run: Pass 12 Gates Just like one of the Checkpoints in the previous group, this event has no Nitro pick-ups Event 4: Barcelona Oval (City Breach) Event Type: Race Class A Cars 3 Laps Primary Goal: 3rd Fan Target: 2,400 Fans Fan Run: Pass 12 Gates Event 5: Barcelona Gracia (Catalan Climb) Event Type: Destruction Class A Cars Primary Goal: 50 points Fan Target: 2,400 Fans Fan Run: Pass 12 Gates You will need at least 200 points to win Event 6: NY Dumbo (Manhattan View) Event Type: Race Class A Cars Primary Goal: 3rd Fan Target: 2,100 Fans Fan Run: Pass 12 Gates Event 7: Mount Haruna (Descent) Event Type: One-on-One (-on-One) Class A Car Restriction: Nissan Skyline GT-R NISMO Z-tune 1 Lap Primary Goal: Beat Ayumi and Harumi If you are trying to defeat them by destroying both of them, you will want to equip either Super Shunt or Overbolt. Quadshock won't do you any good because there are no Shock Power-Ups. It is probably easier to outrace the two of them, rather than try to destroy their cars, especially because there are many Repair and Shield Power-Ups, and they like to pick them up. This course is the only Point A to Point B race. By defeating them, you will receive the Scatter Shot Mod, which will fire off all three Bolt Power-up rounds at once ==================== BLUR3H. Loose Cannon ==================== Boss: Carver Unlocked by earning 215 Lights 50 Lights available Carver's Demands ---------------- Shield through 3 Mines Fully Bolt 8 Cars Win any Race without wrecking or Repairing Win Event 6 in Harumi's car For the "Shield through 3 Mines" demand, the Mines must be laid by one of the opponents. Once you beat Carver, you will unlock the Nitro Rift Mod. Nitro Rift will clear the path ahead by firing a rift of energy forward every time you use a Nitro Power-Up. ================= BLUR3I. Show Down ================= In Show Down, the enemies you will race against will be all of the bosses from the previous groups Boss: Shannon Unlocked by earning 280 Lights 50 Lights available Demands ------- Stay above 120 MPH for an entire lap Land 15 reverse Bolt rounds Mine 20 cars Come first in all 6 events For the "Stay above 120 MPH for an entire lap" demand, the lap does not have to start at the line. The lap can start anywhere and, as long as you make it back to that point without dropping below 120 MPH, it will count and the demand will be checked off in the corner of the screen Event 1: LA Downtown (The Money Run) Event Type: Race Class A Cars 3 Laps Primary Goal: 3rd Fan Target: 2,000 Fans Event 2: SanFran Sausalito (Bay Area Tour) Event Type: Race Class A Cars 3 Laps Primary Goal: 3rd Fan Target: 1,600 Fans Fan Run: Pass 12 Gates This course is your best opportunity for completing a lap while staying above 120 MPH. Super Shunt or Quadshock are the preferred Mod choices for this race, mainly because her car is different statistically from yours, and hers has better Speed and Acceleration. By defeating her, you earn her car, but there is no Mod to earn. ================== BLUR4. Event Types ================== This is probably one of the few racing games where there aren't a very big variety of events to compete in. There are only 4 different event types that you compete in through the Career. In all events, except for One-on-Ones, the Primary Goal will earn you 3 Lights Race ---- Anything goes in Race events. All Power-Ups are available for pick-up and use against you opponents. Most Races will consist of 10-20 racers, including you, so the packs will be fairly big and chaotic. Rival racers will still try to hit you with everything they've got when attempting Fan Runs. Sometimes they'll hit you with a Bolt at the right time and you'll swerve away from a gate, ending the run. For the most part, cars within the same class are all able to keep up with each other, it is just a matter of how long it takes to get up to speed with the rest of the field. One-on-One ---------- One-on-Ones are, as the name implies, races where it is just you against the boss(es). There are 8 Lights on the line in these events, instead of seven, and all are earned by defeating the boss. In One-on-Ones you and the boss will both drive the same car and you have two ways of achieving victory. You can either outdrive them by finishing 1st or pepper them with Power-Ups until the wreck. Usually it is easier to hang close behind the boss and just keep using Ranged Power-Ups (Shunt, Bolt, and Shock) until they wreck. They will pick up Repairs given the opportunity. After defeating the boss, you will earn a Mod, and the boss' car with their paint scheme Destruction ----------- In Destruction events, you need to wreck enough rival drivers to earn points. The only Power-Up available in Destruction events is Bolt; however, you are unable to use Overbolt or Scatter Shot Mods during these events. There are 4 different types of rivals that you will encounter in Destruction events. Green rivals take 1 Bolt to destroy and fire a Bolt round backwards when hit. Yellow rivals take 2 Bolts to destroy and leave a Mine where the final Bolt hit. Red rivals take 3 Bolts to destroy and will fire a Shunt backwards when destroyed. Blue rivals take 1 Bolt to destroy as well, but release a Barge wave when destroyed. You earn points for destroying the rival cars, as well as landing Bonus Shots. Bonus Shots are where you destroy one rival and the resulting Power-up destroys another rival. Blur rivals are useful in this regard. You will also earn a few seconds for destroying the rival. Points and additional time increase as the rivals get stronger; Blue earns the most, green the least. In every event, except for one, you will need twice as many points as the Primary Goal to earn 4 Lights and four times as many points as the Primary Goal to earn 5 Lights. As you progress through the Career, the amount of points needed to hit the Primary Goal will increase Checkpoint ---------- Checkpoint events pit you against the clock. There are Checkpoint gates scattered around the track that will add time onto the clock for each one you pass through. It is impossible to miss any gates, as long as you don't run out of time. There are only 2 Power-Ups available in Checkpoint events. Stopwatches will add 2 seconds onto the clock for each one picked up. There are also Nitros that will be scattered around the courses. There are a couple of events in the later stages, which have no Nitro Power-Ups, only Stopwatches. You are also unable to use the Fan Nitro or Nitro Rift Mods during these events. The Primary Goal for these events will always be the same, as well as the times needed to win the 2 extra Lights. Finishing with more than 10 seconds will earn you 4 Lights, and finishing with more than 20 seconds will earn you 5 Lights ================ BLUR5. Power-Ups ================ Power-Ups are useful in earning Fans and helpful in deciding the outcome of a Race. Some Power-Ups can be upgraded using the Mods you earn by defeating the bosses, but you are only allowed to have one Mod equipped at a time. There are plenty of Power-Ups to choose from, some more versatile than others. Shunt ----- Shunts are the Red Power-Ups. Shunts will home in on a driver ahead of you and flip them in the air if it lands. Shunts can also be fired backwards, but they will only travel in a straight path. If you find yourself without a Shield, you still have a few options for destroying a Shunt. If you have a Barge, you can activate it when the Shunt gets close. Bolts can also destroy Shunts, but it will take 2 shots to do so. You can also drop a Mine in a Shunt's path to get rid of it. You can also lose them by turning hard enough at the right time, but it only really works in turns. Defeating Drayke in his One-on-One will earn you the Super Shunt Mod, which increases the amount of damage done to an opponent if it hits Barge ----- Barges are the Purple Power-Ups. Barges will create a small shockwave from your car, slowing down and forcing away anyone who gets caught in it. Barges are useful when stuck in the middle of a pack or when everyone gets bunched up entering or exiting a turn. There isn't much you can do to defend against them, except for activating a Shield, but the radius it covers is somewhat small that as long as you are about a car length away, it shouldn't affect you Mine ---- Mines are the Orange Power-Ups. When a Mine gets hit, the driver will spin out and then regain control of their car. Mines can either be dropped behind or shot forward. Shooting it forward is useful for hitting someone in a pack ahead, but it doesn't have a very long range, and dropping it behind is useful when stuck in a pack. Apart from using a Shield, Mines can be destroyed by using a Barge, or by firing 2 Bolt rounds at it. You can also fire a Shunt, but because it homes in on drivers ahead of you, it may change directions instead of hitting the Mine, so it isn't the best idea for getting rid of one Bolt ---- Bolts are the Pink Power-Ups. When a Bolt round hits, it will cause the driver to lose control of the car for a couple seconds before regaining control. Bolts are fast-moving rounds, but have no homing capabilities. Each Bolt pick-up comes with 3 Shots. You will earn Fans for landing each shot, and more Fans if all 3 shots hit the same rival. Bolts can destroy incoming Shunts or oncoming Mines, but both require 2 rounds to get rid of. By defeating Shannon in her One-on-One, you will earn the Overbolt Mod, which gives you an 4th shot whenever you pick-up a Bolt. Defeating Ayumi and Harumi will allow you to use the Scatter Shot Mod, which fires all 3 Bolt rounds at the same time Shock ----- Shock is the Blue Power-Up. Driving through a Shock dome will cause your car to slow down for a few seconds. Whenever a Shock is used, 3 Shock domes will appear ahead of the first place driver. Whenever someone passes through a Shock dome, it will disappear. If no one drives through one, it will disappear after a few seconds. There is usually enough space that you can snake though the domes, but if they appear in a turn, it becomes a little more challenging to avoid them. You can pass through the edges of the domes with no effect, but if you get closer to the center, you will be affected. You can use a Shield, but the Shield will only protect you from one dome. If you defeat Natalya in her One-on-One, you will earn the Quadshock Mod, which will create a 4th Shock dome whenever you activate one. Nitro ----- Nitros are the Green Power-Up. Like any other racing game, Nitro will give you a quick burst of speed. You can also use a Nitro as an Airbrake to help get through tighter turns. As you enter the turn, pull down on the left analog stick and activate the Nitro. Time will slow down for a few seconds and your car will be able to grip the track, allowing you to turn your car in the direction you want to go. You will then snap back to real time and your car will take off. Defeat Rhymer in his One-on-One to earn the Fan Nitro Mod. This Mod will grant you a Nitro Power-Up for every 500 Fans you accumulate during the Race. You need to have an empty Power-Up slot to receive the Nitro. Defeating Carver in his One-on-One will allow you to use the Nitro Rift Mod. Whenever you use a Nitro Power-Up with this Mod equipped, you create a wave of energy as you fly by your opponents, knocking any of them out of your path Repair ------ Repair is the Yellow Power-Up. Repair will fix your vehicle and add any Health that you may have lost. For some of the bulkier vehicles, it may not restore you to full Health if you are at critical damage. It is always a good idea to keep a Repair handy, just in case you find yourself low on Health. Your vehicle performs better when it is closer to full Health so it is a good idea to keep your Health as high as you can Shield ------ Shields are the White Power-Up. Shields will temporarily protect you from any attacks that rivals may launch against you. Shields are able to protect against any Power-up. Defeating Khan in his One-on-One will allow you to use the Titanium Shield Power-Up. Using Titanium Shield will increase the duration the Shield stays active and will allow you to deal damage to opponents by running into them or ramming them. ============== BLUR6. As long as someone passes through each dome, this task will be complete Avoid your own Shock in Carver's One-on-One: There are only 2 Shock Power-Ups available in Carver's One-on-One.
