This guide will help show some of basics settings on grip tuning! It is based to help the difficulty in tuning so, I thought I would write a FAQ! There is a lot of stuff to be added, FAQ is still under construction. This is version 1.9... Thank You! ================================================================================ [2] Grip Setup: ================================================================================ Here is your basic Setup! This works with all kinds of cars! Like FR & MR alike! Some examples! ASL - Garaiya Honda - S2000 Honda - NSX-R Type R (Any) Mazda - RX-7 (Any) Nissan - 180 SX (Any) Renault - Clio V6 Toyota - Trueno/Sprinter/Levin (Any) Toyota - Supra (Any) Special - Sileighty Special - Onevia Lets get started off by using the ASL Garaiya! Its the easiest! Tune with a Level 5 NA Engine and leave the Turbo out of it for now. @_* Tip!: Use Record Challenge Mode to build up that unique Setup! It has every part. @_* Code!: R1+R2+L1+L2 + Down, Left, Up, Right ---------- FR/MR Tune: ---------- 1) Gear Ratio Final - Default 2) Initial Torque LSD Type - N/A Front - N/A Rear - N/A 3) LSD Ratio LSD Type - N/A Front - N/A Rear - N/A 4) ROM - Default ____________________ 5a) Suspension | | Spring Rate | | Front - +5 | Suspension #2: | Rear - -5 | | Damper | Damper | Front - 0 | Front - +5 | Rear - 0 | Rear - -5 | Stabalizer - 0 | Stabalizer - -5 | Rear - 0 | Rear - +5 | Ride Height | | Front - -30mm | | Rear - -30mm |____________________| 6) Alignment Toe Front - +10mm Rear - +10mm Camber Front - -2'30' Rear - -2'30' 7) Others Brake Effect Front - 10 Rear - 10 Hand Brake Work - 100% Wing Angle - 10 Steering Angle - 5 Torque Balancer - N/A Traction Control - 10 ABS - 8 --------------- FR/MR Part List: --------------- Tip!: Watch SP! Too much will make Tuning harder! First try 250-500 SP range. Note: The Blank stuff go customize! @_* 1) Engine Tune S-Engine Parts A - S-Engine Parts B - S-Engine Parts C - 2) Turbo Tune Turbo Kit - Intercooler - Turbine - Air Cleaner - 3) Power Tune S-Muffler - Cooling Module - Lvl 5 ROM - Lvl 5 4) Power Train Transmission - Lvl 5 Clutch - Lvl 5 LSD - N/A (Short Courses = N/A) Suspension - Lvl 5 Brake - Lvl 5 5) Body Tune Reinforce - N/A Weight Down - Lvl 5 6) Tire Front Tire - Racing Lvl 5 Rear Tire - Racing Lvl 5 7) Wheel Front Wheel - Rear Wheel - 8) Dress Up Tune Rally Kit - Carbon Bonnet - Normal Carbon Trunklid - Normal Mudflap - Canard - Yes Eye-Line Kit - Full Aero - Yes GT Wing - Yes Light - Winker Tune - ================================================================================ [3] General Tips: ================================================================================ - Spring Rate - Dampers - Stabalizers - Toe - Camber - Brakes - Spoiler - Steering Angle - TCS - ABS - ROM - LSD - SP (Engine/Turbo) <<<<<<<<<<<<<<<<<<<<<<<<<<<<<<!UNDER CONSTRUCTION!>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>> - Dampers: Effects Steering Angle and makes car more aggresive for accerlarating in high speed cornering. - Stabalizers: De-Stabalizes the brakes Front, Rear and both. - Toe: Improves conrnering, but will also cause the car not to drive in a straight line. - Camber: Angles the tires so that more traction can be met during cornering. It also will cancel a lot of chassis sway with soft setups. - Brakes: Shifts the cars weight. Can you brake after a turn? lol - Spoiler: Higher value equals more grip to the rear tires. Improves the cars cornering ability and will reduce accerlation. Lowering the spoilers angle can improve Time Attack times by several seconds. - Steering Angle: A higer value will increase steering which is Wide, a lower value or negative value will reduce steering which is Narrow. When tuning a FR for example, pay attention to what type of front tire you are using. The higher grip will add more steering, especially to FR's, Trueno for example. - TCS: Improves Braking, Turning, and Cornering, will - effect acceleration. - ABS: A low value will increase Brake power, but lowers the ABS traction. So you end up skidding when using the brakes. A high value will reduce traction loss. - ROM: I listen to the pitch on the gears to find the ROM's setting, on the ROM Settings screen. You can tune it to match a specific gear on the car. - SP: If you decided to upgrade say, the NSX-R. You will find you loose a lot of handling. So low SP is better for grip. XD - LSD: I use them for Medium and Long Courses, Short Courses don't need LSD's. 1 Way - Loose Steering 1.5 Way - In the Middle of the 1 Way and 2 2 Way - Tight Steering The following settings will vary per vehicle! ================================================================================ [4] FAQ: ================================================================================ Question: How do I get all of the parts? Do I have to play the whole game first? Answer: No! You can use any of these setups! Record Challenge Mode has all of the cars and parts free, minus Onevia and Sileighty, which cannot be unlocked. _____________ Question: Where do I find the Onevia and Sileighty? Answer: The Used Car Shop! The Used Car Shop generates a new batch of cars for purchase every couple of days. There are about a total of 10-15, the New Car Shop won't ever have to purhcase. _____________ Question: What does the Onevia look like? Answer: A little bit like a Nissan 240 SX. _____________ Question: What does N/A mean? Answer: Not Applied! But not, Not Applicable. ;) _____________ Question: Anything else I should know? Answer: I'm not sure, but STAY TUNED! Get it? STAY TUNED. _____________ Question: Does Traction Control effect Cornering? Answer: It's usally the Damper, not the TCS. ================================================================================ [5] Closing Comments & Legal Info: ================================================================================ - Contact: [email protected] This FAQ or parts of it may not be changed, distributed, published or used otherwise than for personal used without the permission of the author. - Sony, Playstation 2, Crave Entertainment, Genki Ltd.
