1)Introduction
--------------
Enhance is a new feature in rebirth which is using the Enhance Points 
or EP that every character earns every battle to upgrade the weapons and 
armors stats. Each character will get a number of EP + the bonus EP which is 
based on 
how many hits done in that battle and the difficulty of monsters and the 
dungeon.Below is a list of the number of basic EP each character will get 
after every battle won. These numbers are taken from namco official guide.

*For Tytree he has to get the bonus EP for his armor in order to enhance.

Every weapon and armor can only hold 200 max EP.

2)Enhancing
-----------
Enhancing can be done at weapon/armor shops or at the status menu.
When the weapon/armor is enhanced after a number of times, it will get an 
hidden ability and the awakening rate stat will appear.

There are five stats that can be enhanced.

For weapon
----------
Slash,Thrust/Blow,Magic,FG,awakening rate(comes out when enhanced a 
certain number of times)

For Armor
---------
Slash,Thrust/Blow,Magic,HP,awakening rate(comes out when enhanced a 
certain number of times)

Slash- Slash damage or defence against slash
Thrust/Blow- Thrust/Blow damage or defense
Magic- Magic damage or defence
FG- FG recovery rate
HP- HP recovery rate
Awakening rate- Rate of hidden ability of the weapon/armor occuring

Earlier equipments can only be enhanced 3 times per stats but the later and 
rare equipments will allow u to enhance 4-5 times on each stat.

Below is the list of the hidden abilities that can be obtained from 
armors/weapons.Note that the irregular awakening can only be obtained by 
inheriting equipments. The other abilities are randomly assigned to the 
equipments when they are bought.

*Some awakening can only be gotten when playing at a certain difficulty. 
Example playing at 
Hard will get awaken abilities Revive and those abilities above revive.
*The order of the awaken are according to the way they are arranged in the 
 battle book.
*Awaken number is the total number of times all the equipments(whether those 
equipments have been sold or thrown away) have awakened.

3)Inheriting
--------------
Inheriting is combining 2 weapons or 2 armors with at least +1 stat together. 
It can only be done at the weapon/armor shops.

Example: weapon 1 ->inherit onto weapon 2(Not yet enhanced) = stronger weapon2

Half weapon 1's EP will be transferred to weapon 2.
Normally inheriting will cause an increase in stats on the final 
equipment based on how the weapon has been enhanced.
If the weapon 1's slash points have been enhanced more than the others, weapon
2 slash points will be increased.
If all the stats have been increased equally, then the stats up on weapon 2 
will be randomly chosen.

On certain weapons, inheriting a weapon/armor with certain stats being higher 
than the others will cause special inherit effects. Stats up will not appear. 
Instead, 1 of the following effects below will appear.

Special Inherit Effects (From namco's guide)
-----------------------------------------------------------------------------
1)Enhance once getting awakening

This occurs when weapon 1's slash stats are higher than the other stats. 
Weapon 2 only need to enhance once for its awaken ability to appear regardless
of the ability's enhance requirement.
(This ability is necessary to create 100 % awaken equipments)

2)Required Ep to enhance lowered

This occurs when weapon 1's thrust/blow stats are higher than the other stats. 
Weapon 2's required EP to get to next enhance is reduced.

3)Enhance level +1

This occurs when weapon 1's magic attack stats are higher than the other stats.
Weapon 2's stats 
can be enhanced to original max enhance level+1. Example: The most a weapon 
can be enhanced is to level 5 but with this level 6 can be obtained.

4)More EP bring over

This occurs when weapon 1's HP/FG recover stats are higher than the other 
stats. More than half of weapon 1's EP will be transferred to weapon 2.

5)Awakening inherited

This occurs when weapon 1's awakening rate is higher than the other stats. 
Weapon 1's awaken ability will be transferred
to weapon 2 resulting weapon 2 having the same awaken anility as weapon 
1.Weapon 2 will also 
have the same awaken rate as weapon 1 plus 1 more % is added to the awaken 
rate. (This ability is necessary to create 100 % awaken equipments)

*Sometimes during inheriting, an irregular may happen.
This can be (In order of the most common to the least common)
            1) Equipment change shape
            2) Equipment gets an irregular awakening
            3) Equipment gets multi-element attributes.

The rate of irregular occuring depends on the total inherit number. The higher 
the inherit number, the higher chance irregular will happen.

For Iregular shape change, any weapons inherited onto the better weapons in 
Sunny Town will give you musical instruments.
Any weapons/armors inherited onto the best weapons/armors (Folty weapons and 
armors) selling 
in Balka (after last stage appears in the sky) will give you the ultimate 
weapons/armors.

For rare awakening, the type of awaken ability depends on the battle number 
recorded in the battle book.

Remainder of "Battle number / 4" (Battle number divided by 4) 
decides what awakening you get.

WARNING!!!*

There is a known bug in Tales Of Rebirth that battle numbers will stop at 
10000. You can still fight normally but the battle number will not increase. 
So if you are aiming for X32 Damage or any other ability not in remainder 0,
make sure your battle number is not close to 10000.

4)How to get 100% weapons and armor awaken ability
---------------------------------------------------------
In Tales of Rebirth, there are 2 ways to get equipment awakening rate to 100%.
1)Buy awaken stones (green in colour) at the aution in Kyogen. 
  (Depending on your luck, this can be very very time consuming...........)
2)Use the special inherit method

Now I am going to describe how the special inherit method works. 
(Special thanks to Gahleon and Aiyon for telling on the message board.)
Note : When I mention reset, I mean press L1+L2+R1+R2+Select+Start at the 
same time

******************************************************************************
Before I start, when I mention "File A" it means I am refering to your 
current save file.
******************************************************************************

Getting a weapon/armor that has "Enhance Once getting awakening" factor 
(This equip is critical to getting the awaken factor that you want and 
 inheriting the awakening)

1)Train a weapon/armor until it has at least a +1 on one of the stats and has 
  150 EP left. (we call this Equip A)
2)Buy 1 weapon/armor(Equip B)
3)Save (File A)
4)Buy 1 weapon/armor(Equip C)
5)Save on another file(File B)
6)Inherit "Equip A" onto "Equip C"
7)Enhance "Equip C" any stats to +3
8)Inherit "Equip C" onto "Equip B"
9)If "Enhance Once getting awakening" message appears, reset and 
  load back "File B" then go to 
  step 10.If slash stat up message appears,reset and load "File A" and 
  start from step 4. 
10)Train "Equip C" to at least 150 EP. Save on "File A"

From now on I will call the "Enhance Once getting awakening" weapon/armor 
"Equip C".
******************************************************************************

*For getting normal awakening to 100%
1)Get a weapon/armor that has "Enhance Once getting awakening" factor by 
  following the steps above. ("Equip C")
2)Buy a weapon/armor. (Let's call this weapon/armor "Equip D")
3)Save on a separate file. (Let's call this "File B")
4)Inherit "Equip C" onto "Equip D"
5)Enhance any stats and see if the awaken that appears is the one you want.
6)If it is the one you wanted,reset and load "File B" and go to next step 7.
  If it is not, reset and load "File A" and go back to step 2.
7)Inherit "Equip C" onto "Equip D"
8)Enhance slash stats to +2 or above.
9)Inherit "Equip D" onto a new weapon/armor.
10)If the "Enhance Once getting awakening" factor comes out, reset and load 
 "File B" and go to next step 11.
 If slash stats up message comes out, reset and load "File A" and go to step 1
11)Save onto "File A".
   Now enhance "Equip D" stats equally among the four stats until the awaken 
   rate comes out.
   Then enhance the awaken rate until it is the maximum and the highest among 
   the five stats.
   Example if you are going to make "Shockwave" for your weapon, make sure the 
   stats are enhanced as followed
   for lv3-5 weapons: +2,+2,+2,+2,+5 (where +5 is the awaken rate and 
   shockwave needs total of +8 to appear).Then save onto "File A".
12)Find another "Equip C".
13)Now Inherit "Equip D" onto new "Equip C".The special inherit effect 
  "Awakening Inherited" will appear.
14)Now enhance the stats again until awaken rate is the highest and the 
   maximum enhance reached for the equip.
15)Save onto "File A".
16)Find another "Equip C" and inherit onto it. 
17)Now enhance the stats again until awaken rate is the highest and the 
   maximum enhance reached for the equip.
18)Repeat steps 15 to steps 17 until the awaken is 100%

******************************************************************************
*For getting Irregular awakening to 100%

Getting Irregular awakening to 100% is simpler in the sense that you will know
which Irregular awakening you get without resetting so many times.

///////////////////////
Conditions for getting Irregular awakening to 100%:
-Recommended to start on your second walkthrough as the weapons/armors will 
 not bring over from first game to next game
-Inherit number should be 700 and above.The more the better. (I started at  
 around 1500+ inherit number)
 Just as long as you feel that the irregular rate is not so low.
-Battle number should give the remainder that decides your irregular 
 awakening. If you are getting X32 damage, battle number divided by 4 
 should give you remainder 2.
-Weapon/armor enhance level must be able to enhance to LEAST +4.
-The earliest you can start making them is at Anikamal Town in the desert 
 where they start selling enhance to +4 weapon/armor.

Steps on starting to make:
1)Get a weapon/armor with +1 and above.
2)Get a weapon/armor that has "Enhance Once getting awakening" factor 
3)Inherit the weapon/armor in step 1 to the weapon/armor in step 2.
  If Irregular awakening happens, save the file.
  If not, reset and try to inherit again.
4)Enhance the irregular awakening weapon/armor on every stats equally until
  awaken rate comes out.Then enhance awaken rate to 
  the highest and to the maximum enhanceable
  (Example X32 damage :+3,+3,+3,+2,+4 or +3,+3,+3,+2,+5
  here awaken rate is the highest and is enhanced to the maximum level).
5)get another weapon/armor that has "Enhance Once getting awakening" factor 
6)Inherit the weapon/armor in step 4 onto the weapon/armor in step 5. The 
  special inherit effect "Awakening Inherited" will appear.
7)Enhance the inherited weapon/armor on every stats equally until awaken rate 
  comes out.Then 
  enhance awaken rate to the highest and to the maximum enhanceable
  (Example X32 damage :+3,+3,+3,+2,+4 
  or +3,+3,+3,+2,+5 where awaken rate is the highest and is enhanced to the 
  maximum level).
8)get another weapon/armor that has "Enhance Once getting awakening" factor 
9)Inherit the weapon/armor in step 7 onto the weapon/armor in step 8. The 
  special inherit effect "Awakening Inherited" will appear.
10)Repeat steps 7 to 9 for 100% awakening.Every time the awakening is passed 
   on, the inherited % will increase by 1%.

5)The cooking bug
------------------
What this bug does is that you can use the secret factor ability of the 
recipe without wasting any ingredients and not making the secret factor to 
appear on the recipe itself.

*Note: This bug is better done in 2nd walkthrough and above.
      Explaination will be provided below.

To activate the bug, first the recipe must have 3 stars and above. Then 
the player has bought the recipe inherit and usable items inherit from the 
grade shop after completing the game. After starting a new game with the
inherits that are bought from the grade shop, go through the game until
you are at the world map.Then fight 1 battle. Save the game. Now use the
recipe. Since the recipe is 3 stars and above, secret factor is 100%
coming out. Now, *DONT SAVE THE GAME*. Just soft reset the game (press
all the buttons together). Load your game and go fight a battle.
You will find out that you have the secret factor activated in battle.
After the battle, notice that the secret factor explanation has
not come out and the ingredients have not being used. Now if you use the
recipe another time, the secret factor will comes out AGAIN. :)
Just reset after you have made the secret factor come out.
Rinse and repeat how many times you want. XD
(Note: This can be done anywhere in the world map. Not neccessarily
in first town)

This is useful as there is a secret factor that lets you earn
30EP after battle. Combined with the X2 grade earn in grade shop,
that's a whopping 60EP per battle!!!

As to why is recommended to use the bug in 2nd walkthrough
is that secret factor is 100% sure to come out. For 1st walkthrough
the secret factor may comes out just as you are raising the recipe
to 3 stars.
