His presence in Soul Calibur III lies in Nightmare... who possessed his body back in Soul Calibur II (and even further into the game's history). According to Soul Calibur II, Siegfried regained consciousness from the cursed grip of the Soul Edge, but would turn into Nightmare whenever he fell asleep... and eventually he became Nightmare completely once again. By killing Inferno (the spirit of the Soul Edge i've heard), Siegfried frees himself completely from the grip of Soul Edge. Soul Calibur III picks right up where Soul Calibur II leaves off... Siegfried removes the azure armor he wore as Nightmare and takes up the Soul Calibur and makes an attempt to destroy the cursed sword, by piercing it through its evil eye. ((That's where the opening movie starts)) As a last effort, the Soul Edge tries to absorb the Soul Calibur before it loses all of its power... and fails only to an extent. Siegfried realizes that the Soul Edge can't be destroyed (or whatever the case is) and quests for a way to get rid of it completely. Unbeknownst to him, when he pierced the cursed sword, Soul Edge transfered its soul or something into the azure armor... but since it didn't have the sword (Siegfried does), the azure armor just layed there on the floor... until Zasalamel used high powered magic and souls to ressurect Nighmare. Siegfried's goal in Soul Calibur III is to, if you haven't picked it up already, destroy the Soul Edge for good so that it never covers the world in darkness ever again... as well as take control of him or anyone else. -------------------------------------------------- A) Character Profile -------------------------------------------------- NOTE: This section, as well as the move list, was taken from the game... so I gotta give credit to the makers of this game. Full Name: Siegfried Schtauffen Age: 23 (wow, a young age for someone with his life) Height: 5'6" Weight: 132 lbs Blood Type: A Weapon: Zweihander Weapon Name: Requiem Discipline: Original Style Family: Mother/Margaret Father/Frederick (Murdered by Siegfried) Collecting powerful souls and the fragments of Soul Edge, Nightmare was approaching the revival of the cursed sword. He returned to Ostrheinsburg Castle, a place that had seen the blood of many spilled, and there found a man wielding a thin sword in his left hand. The man sought Soul Edge, but after a fierce battle, Nightmare defeated him. (Raphael is the man Nightmare fought in the paragraph above) Nightmare closed in to finish him off, but at that moment, a brief flicker of Siegfried's will returned, and he struggled against the cursed sword. One voice sought atonement and a desire to restore pride. Another laughed, saying that all men shall despair at the darkness of death. As this conflict raged within Nightmare's mind, the wounded man drew upon his last strength and unleashed a desperate final blow. The blow cleanly pierced the center of Soul Edge. Nightmare let out an inhuman howl and writhed in pain, two consciousnesses clashing within him. And finally, with a will of iron, Siegfried reclaimed control of his own body. At that moment, the area was covered in light, and Soul Calibur suddenly appeared. Reflexively, Siegfried took the holy sword and stabbed it into the eye of Soul Edge. The power of the cursed sword was sealed, but the spirit sword went silent as well. 'This isn't enough... I swear to seal away Soul Edge for all time and atone for my sins!' Smashing into pieces his detestable armor, Siegfried set out on a journey. However, his blood-stained fate would not release him so easily. The feeling of a grotesque right arm periodically welled up in his memories. The whispers of the cursed sword echoed in his ears. And each time he was forced to fight those who sought revenge of Nightmare, his mind was wracked by guilt... -------------------------------------------------- B) Weapons -------------------------------------------------- This section is simple, it's just a list of his weapons, what they do, and how to unlock them. Please e-mail me anything I'm missing... like if it takes so many battles or it takes a certain mission's completion to get or something like that.
