This is a FAQ about the Case Files in Shin Megami Tensei : Devil Summoner 2 :
Raidou Kuzunoha VS. King Abaddon. Case Files are pretty much like side quests
in the game and have various rewards for completing them. Some need to be
completed to progress in the story but not many. Use ALT+F to search for
whatever Case File you are looking for.

Case File NPCs [NPC001]

NPC Stands for None Playable Character, like the people you talk to in the
game. To get Case Files to show up at Narumi Detective Agency you need to
first talk to certain npcs and demons. Sometimes demons you are trying to
recruit will ask you to help their friend with something, always tell them to
go to the Narumi Detective Agency and that is how you get case files from
demons.

I unlocked this by talking to the Suspicious maid in Tsukudo-Cho near the
Ushigome-Gaeri Bridge in Chapter 1.
In Game Information :
I've been doing cutting-edge experiments with a form of teleportation. If
you can help me, I'll make it worth your while. Meet me at the Dragon Cave
in Dark Tsukudi-Cho, and I'll give you all the details there.
How To Complete :
Accept the Case File and travel to the Nameless Shrine in Shinoda, ring the
bell to call the Herald, pick the Ritual of Entry, and then pick Dark
Tsukudo-Cho. Go stright to the Dragon Cave (the blue glowing thing coming
out of the ground infront of you). Dr. Victor talks about some basic game
information then ask you to help him out, pick to help him out and he will
give you a Tesseract Box. That is case closed and you can now use any
Dragon Cave to travel to the Gouma-Den.

I unlocked this the first time I visited the Shin-Sekai Soda Joint and
talked to the owner.
In Game Information :
I'm investigating the phantom vehicle (a ghost car?) that's been sighted
recently. It appears from the rear. drives around for a couple minutes,
then takes off. It was sighted in Kurisu-Zaka, but I've heard it went down
Dark Tsukudo-Cho. Please investigate and then destroy it.
How To Complete :
Accept the Case File, travel to the Nameless Shrine in Shinoda, talk to the
Herald and go to Dark-Tsukudo-Cho. Around the north area of the map
Oboroguruma comes out, he is the ghost car. He is weak to force damage and
the fight has a three minute timer so be fast. I used a Angel with Mazan on
auto and an Inugami with Dai on auto, it shouldn't be too hard. After the
battle he calls you the new speed demon, case closed.

I got this when I visited the Nameless Shrine in Shinoda and talked to the
Herald at the beginning of Chapter 3.
In Game Information :
My men tell me someone's watching them from the crack in the lattice door.
Can you check out the lattice door at the side of our exhibit in
Fukagawa-Cho? If there's anyone who can fit in such a narrow space, I'd
definitely want them in my troupe.
How To Complete :
Accept the Case File, travel to Fukagawa-Cho and head to the area called
Show Room in town, there will be a lattice fence along the wall, find the
place where it says "check" press X and be prepared for a fight. Turns out
to be a pissed of Makami, your going to fight quite a few of these here,
they are weak to Force damage, so if you have a area Force use it and own
them. After the fight some questions and it is case closed.

I unlocked this by talking to Osamu inside the Gambling Palor in Mannen-Cho,
I unlocked it at the beginning of Chapter 4 but I know you can get it
sooner if you want.
In Game Information :
There's a row house nearby that makes anyone who stays there sick. I wrote
it off as a creepy rumor, but the current tenant says he feels ill... Can
you see if there really is a curse? If you'll take the case, come to the
Mannen-Cho gambling parlor and I'll tell you the details there.
How To Complete :
Accept the Case File, for this you are going to need a Frost demon with the
skill "Cool Down" and a Volt demon with the skill "Inspect". Head to
Mannen-Cho and go back to Osumu in the Gambling Palor, talk to him again to
find out some information on the case. Now go to te bottom middle of the
main map to the house across from the well. Inside you will find the
Umbrella Maker, a small cut scene will happen. Leave the house and go around
the back, find the "check", while standing infront of the "check" with a
Volt demon summoned use it's "Inspect" skill. After you use inspect there
will be a item on the ground, go to pick it up. Now summon your Frost demon
and go back to the front of the house next to the chicken, use cool down on
him and he will turn into a Basilisk. He is weak to Lighting and it isn't
too hard to dodge his major attacks. After the battle you get to choose from
two crystals, pick whichever. Some people say the heavy one has Beetles
needed for [CF0204] and [CF0403], but I have only gotten money from it so
far.

training exercises. They say it's caused by the "Biting Man". As a medic, my
first priority is to relieve the men's pain. Can you bring me some medicine
called Ox Bezoar? I think it should do the trick.

Obtain 1 Ox Bezoar, you can get these from killing demons, buying them at
the store in Tsukudo-Cho, finding them around the map, or from crystals.

it can be found on the ground near the north east area of the map.

I got this when I visited the Nameless Shrine in Shinoda and talked to the
Herald at the beginning of Chapter 3.
In Game Information :
There's a rumor going around that a strange creature is in the drains in
Kanda. They think it's an albino alligator, or a huge rat... But not me.
Help me find the Large Tarrasque I mean, the strange creature. Meet me at
the manhole in front of the Ushigome-Gaeri Bridge in Tsukudo-Cho.
How To Complete :
Accept the Case File, go to Tsukuso-Cho near the bridge and talk to the new
npc there, ask him about "it came from the sewer case". You will find out
the strange creature is a Large Tarraque Demon and some other information.
Now head to Tsukigata Residenitial Area, countinue north and talk to the
kids. Help the turtle out and the kids will ask for a bribe of 3 Jin Dan,
after, the kids will leave. Gouto will make the Large Tarraque turn back
into it's normal size and then it will give you 1 Flute of Rhone, it grants
the ability to ride it from blue spots on the world map (cross water) by
pressing X on a blue map spot. He will also give you a Tamatebako but drop
it when trying to hand it to you, then you will have a question, case
closed.

Betobeto doing it. It's not actually hurting anything, but I'm afraid that
something terrible might happen if I ignore it. Can you look into this?

Accept the Case File, head to Kasumidai, I got ambushed around the east area.
Betobeto turns out to be a Obariyon and he has some friends with him, these
guys are also weak to force damage and there are a lot of them. After the
fight you get thanked... and that is case closed.

I unlocked this at the beginning of Chapter 4 by talking to Tsunatsugu in
Kasmuidai, he is located in the south east corner standing infront of a car.
In Game Information :
I'm suffering from a curse that prevents me from working as a devil
summoner. My research indicates the curse was on and ancestor of mine,
and now it's been affecting me. I know what's causing it, but I can't do
anything about it in this condition. Please go to the North Training Hall
and defeat the demon.
How To Complete :
Accept the Case File, head to Fukagawa-Cho, follow the map around until you
get to the blue dot at the top. Call your Large Tarrasque and go to the
island, that is Training Hall North. You will speak with a Oni until he
summons a couple friends and then the battle will start. They are weak to
lighting, and there are quite a few of them but they are pretty weak if you
have lighting and some form of dia on auto. After the fight the Oni will
talk to you again, that is case closed.

keep going north past the Dragon Cave. At the 4 way intersection go east,
from here go to the north east area. There is a shiny thing in the bush
that doesn't go away after picking it up. Check it when it is a full moon
to get 1 Moonlight Herb.

south entrance go north a tiny bit then go west into the alley. Kuroi is
just standing there and ready for you to take a photo of him, go for it,

at the middle of the battle some Nekomatas and Okiku-Mushi will appear.
Nekomata is weak to Lighting and Okiu-Mushi is weak to fire. After those
some Gashadokuro will appear, they are weak to fire, pwn them and case
closed. Congrats on killing 100 demons in 1 battle!

How To Complete :
Accept the Case File, head to tento woods and go to the place you meet the
demons at with Nagi [CF0408]. You will automatically enter the Faerie Land
and have a conversation with Queen Titania, finish the conversation then
head south. You will see another Faeire Demon talk to him to learn he is
King Oberon, he will offer you a plan and a Fickle Dew to use. Agree to his
deal, before you use it on Queen Titania go to the south west area and look
for a "check" press X to take a picture for [CF0603] Case File. If you
forget to get the picture the first time that is okay, just go back to where
you entered and you can go back to Faeire Land again. Head back to the queen
and use the Fickle Dew, oh no he didn't... you got tricked, prepare for a
fight. The Male is weak to Lighting, and the Female is weak to Ice. I would
suggest putting some healing on auto. This fight can be quite hard if you
don't use block efficiently because they will try to put you to sleep and
if you get put to sleep Oberon will use a instant kill spell, so focus on
him first while being care full not to be put to sleep. After the battle
some words exchange and its case closed. If you have a problem with the
isntant death make a Kogitsune sword, it has Null Mortal (instant death).

In Game Information :
This concerns an insurgent near Tsukigata Willage. You must terminate this
former member of the Fukoshi. He knows too much. If we let him be, he'll
soon become a serious threat. The other Fukoshi are no match for him; only
you can handle this job. Consider it a matter of national secrurity.
How To Complete :
Accept the Case File, head to Tsukigata and then to Tento Woods south
entrance. Enter the Prison and go down the stairs, talk to the guy on the
ground to receive something. Get ready and move forward, after some dialog
you will find yourself in Fukorutsubo. Confusing dungeon, with all the
teleports back, find your way through it and at the end you will find a
Gold-Masked Fukoshi, seems like a fun fight. He seems weak to Electric, so
just spam that and melee, halfway through the fight he will call a Soldier
Bug Taromaru, just melee it. It will fall on it's back and be wimpy, make
sure to get off some combos when it is it's back. All of it's major damage
attacks you can see coming, so just block them. When it is preparing for
something just block and make your demons hide, that way you get minimal
damage. After the Taronaru is dead the Golden Guy will come back at half
health, be careful of his Burning Resolve spell, lucky it gives a "is
preparing something" warning. So block and hide demons if he is preparing,
and mass Electric pwn him when not! After the fight there is a question,
then case closed. Try using "Read Mind" on the gold guy after you beat him
for a little something.

let this happen, yes...? The Rider will be at the Catholic Church.
How To Complete :
Accept the Case File and head back to the Catholic Church in Harumi-Cho,
once at the church go towards the shrine in the middle. This will trigger
a fight with the Red Rider, the fight is timed with a 5 minute limit, I
didn't figure out what it was weak to the first time I beat it, I will find
out next time.

In Game Information :
There have been disturbing reports of you men who lose their will to work,
locking themselvesin their homes around the north area of the Capital. It's
true that we've suffered a long depression, but this is extraordinary. At
this rate, our nation's wealth will plummet. Please look into it.
How To Complete :
Accept the Case File, travel to Mannen-Cho, go north and then east, he is at
the top middle of the map, the lone guy standing there in Tan/Green cloths.
Talk to him, this will trigger Belphegor to start talking, and he wants to
fight. This battle is a 2 minute fight, he seems weak to wind and force.
Watch out for his Mamudoon...it hurts, so roll out of the way and hide
demons from it. His fire spell hurts also but it is easy to avoid, I found
Force worked the best. After the fight Belphegor leaves along with the man
then it is case closed.

In Game Information :
A powerful plague god is possessing the Capital. We carried out the Ritual
of Purification, but frankly, it's far beyond our power. The best we could
do was to seal it in the East Training Hall. Raidou Kuzunoha the 14th,
please act as a modern Housoushi and exorcise this evil!
How To Complete :
Accept the Case File, call your Great Kohryu and travel to Training Hall
East. This can only be acessed by using the Great Kohryu, if you have a hard
time finding Training Hall East remember that. Once inside go north in the
training hall, and accept the fight. I found this fight really easy, his
moves are really predictable, but if you can't block well your screwed. This
fight has a 5 minute timer and Yakubyou-Gami summons Zombies the whole
fight, but I suggest you hit his weak spot and focus on him. When he falls
over it is a prime time to throw a nice combo, watch out for his Judgement,
make sure you are blocking and have demons hidden if they can't null the
damage. Once it is over that is case closed.

backwards "L".

to anything it seems. At 3/4th HP he summons 1 more of himself, and at 1/2
he summons yet another, making a total of 3. Each one sends out little
grim reaper looking guys that can hurt quite a bit. A Pagan Nebiros Nulls
everything the Pale Rider can dish out so make one to make this fight
easier. By this time you should have gotten a Nebiros from fusion or
negotiation. Finish the fight and it is case closed.

In Game Information :
I have detected unearthly energy a the Radio Tower in Sakuradayama.
According to reports, this mysterious presence is mimicking the appearance
of Raidou Kuzunoha the 14th. I implore you to look into the matter
immediately.
How To Complete :
Accept the Case File, travel to Sakuradayama, go to the tower, you will find
a fake version of you, Mara appears. Watch out for Mad Rush, you can tell
when he is going to do it, he will summons demons with him during the fight.
This is a 5 minute timed fight, and the demons he summons are random, one of
them is immune to physical, so just have a demon use some magic on it. Mara
himself is weak to fire so spam that. After the fight some more talking and
you learn you need to go to the Nameless Shrine in Shinoda to borrow the
Amatsu Kanagi to send the fake Raidou back to his dimension. So head to the
Nameless Shrine, talk to the Herald and she will give you the Amatsu Kanagi.
She will also tell you the spell will have the most effect at Ushigome-Gaeri
Bridge in Dark Tsukuso-Cho. So head to the manhole in Dark Tsukuso-Cho, the
other Raidou will go home, case closed.

I can't seem to get case file [name] from [name], how do I obtain it?
Answer :
Try using a Pagan demon that can use the skill "Read Mind" on the person, if
that doesn't work try back when your further into the story, or you might
need to complete another Case File to unlock it. Also a few Case Files
require you to be a certain allignment to get them, but very few.
