Introduction to the game
Robot wars is a TV show in the UK, the rules to the show is that people
build and pay money to watch their robots be destroyed in an arena by
either other robots, obstacles in the arena or by thereselfs being
stupid. Anywho, this walkthrough is based on areas in the game on how
to avoid stuff and do's and don'ts.

Words of Notice

Controls
There are different controls in different areas in the game, well in fact
there is two and they consist of gameplay and the menu so how about both.

Menu controls
Direction buttons-up/down/left/right= Highlight menu icon
X button= Access menu button
Triangle= Back/Previous

Gameplay controls
This is the standard controls not either tank steering or Left analog stick
which change the way your robot is moving etc. A tip is to go with standard
and not with anything else and to use either left analog and right analog
or directional buttons if you are not comfortable with one of them to move.

Analog and directions= Moveing
Select= Select
Start= Pause/Start
X button= Primary weapon
Square= Secondary weapon
Triangle= Change camera
L2-R2= Camera movement
L1-R1= Primary and Secondary weapons

Modes of play
There are numerous ways to play the game from a season in professional to
just pratice or have fun in training ground so here is an A-Z on the modes.

Professional mode- A season which involves stratgery in order to win. You must
have an robot to enter tournaments across the globe. There are three
tournaments in each country and there are about nine countries but to unlock
other contries and tournaments you must win money, to do that you have to
win games and championships. But there are different tournaments for different
robots such as weight and weapons. So you have to modify your bot until it
meets the restrictions. The country you start your season is in England.
But beware as big world tournaments don't just have a winning prize but an
entry fee aswell. For all championships between each game you have 20 minutes
to fix your robot that means that you could need only five seconds or 19 mins
but you can only claim prize if you have a good fixed bot and win the final.

Freeplay mode- This is just a quick match between the computer or your mates.
In one of the arenas you have unlocked. You have a choice on house robots on
or off, if confused on this check house robot section further down the page.
Then pick your bots and start the battle. There is no money involved in
this mode.

Vengeance battle- Like freeplay but this is an one on one. Unlike Freeplay
where you could choose how many players and opponents there were.

Training ground- In here you can pratice different aspects of the game
like moving, attacking and defending so here is the list of different
training modes.

Slamom- Move yourself through an obstacle course as quickly as possible.

Robot battle- Damage another bot as quickly as possible but he won't just
stand still and take your blows.

Ultimate challenge- Go head to head with a house bot and try to survive his
blows. House bot info is further down in the walkthrough.

Game types
In professional and freeplay there are different types of games so to put
you in the know here they are.

One-on-one= a simple battle where you cause as much damage as possible to
the other contender.

Annihilator= Just like one-on-one but there is up to six robots in the ring
with every man to himself.

Capture the flag= There is a flag hidden on the arena and robots battle it
out to grab. When every second passing you get points. But other robots want
it and will steal it by attacking you largely and grabbibg it. The person
with the highest points at the end of the time limit wins.

Collateral damage- Just like annihilator but instead of just killing each
other you have to damage people for points and the person with the highest
wins.

Mad bomber- This is hard to explain but I will try. At the start of the match
someone is randomly 'it'. A bomb is attached to their body which can be
passed on by bashing into another bot. Whoever has the bomb at the end of the
time limit is knocked out and the round starts again until there is a winner.

Arenas
These are the areas you move your bot around and are used in many modes such
as freeplay, pro etc. There are many arenas to play at and if you are going to
be a robot king then you need to know your surroundings.

UK ARENA-A square easy shaped arena, has house robots in the corners. There
only a few warnings to keep clear such as the pit, flipper, chainsaw and flames.

North Sea Oilrig- Another easy arena, there are house robots dotted around
the place with a huge drill in the centre. There are holes in the fence around
the area where you could fall down into your doom. There are also gas barrels
around.

Tokyo Rooftops- Easy if you have practice. A small arena which is about the
half of UK Arena. House robots are in nearly everycorner. There is a big
danger of being shocked by a electrical genarator and falling down the
glass window in the centre that can't take much weight and the sides of the
rooftop.

New York Steelworks- A small arena like Tokyo with the only danger is a big
lava pool and a few pits but thats it. The house robots are in little alcoves.

Siberia Miltary base- A big arena full of many dangers such as mines hidden
under snow and a big pit that makes up about a quarter of the level. It is
activated by an switch on some revoving steps. Another danger is the house
robots that roam around the site.

German Dockyard- The only level where you meet water and probaly the biggest
arena in the game. It has a funny shaped perimeter with house robots every-
where. You can climb on a boat which is infested with Robots but apart from
that the only real danger is some gas canisters etc.

Sao Paulo Scrapyard- Finally, this is complicated for me but here goes. There
are gas canisters and items around the level for sure and has a crusher
machine but with my research thats it.

House robots
These are the big daddys and are normally move around the arenas in pro mode
and/or freeplay mode. They attack when you are dead or get to close to them.
There idea of carnage is just clear fun and here is who they are.

Tips on building
I can't offer you any advice as I'm not mechanically minded but I can point you
in the right direction. There are sevaral components that are required(scroll
below) to build a robot and the better the components the better the robot. They
are the body, power source, drive, Locomotion, weapons, armour and Extras.
The extras are just to make your robot stand out for decorate. The components
will affect your statistics(scroll down) which if too high or low can't enter
certain tournaments. They are weight, cost, strength, speed, pushpower, agility
and attackpower. To improve these and items for your bot it will cost money so
spend it wisely.

Components
Body- What sort of shape do you want your bot to take and hold all the other
components?
Power- The centre of life for the bot which starts a chain of power to all
the other components. You have a choice of Engines and batteries.
Drive- Takes power and moves the locomotion. You have a different choice of
electrical and gear rations depending on what sort of power you chose,
engine or battery.
Locomotion- In simple terms this is the wheel where you can chose everything
from circular wheels to tank tracks.
Weapons- Do I really need to explain this fun component. Choose carefully
you're weapons as some are better than others.
Armour- Every robot needs protection to cover it's components. You could
choose weak wood or hard titanium but each armour has advantages and
disadvantages to different attacks.
Extras- Just used to make your bot stand out from the crowd.

Statistics
Weight: The weight of your robot is classed into categories and whatever this
is will ban you from different tournaments in pro mode. The categories are...
Lightweight: up to 55kg
Mediumweight:56-62kg
Heavyweight: 63-75kg
Super Heavyweight: 76kg
Cost: The cost of all your components put together.
Strength: Your bot has to be tough and this is affected mainly by armour and
minor by the others.
Speed: Your robot can be fast and slow, this can be told by the weight or
the quality of your Drive, power and locomotion.
Pushing Power: This is how well your bot does aginst a force. It is decided on
your locomotion or drive.
Agilty: How fast can your robot turn etc. Good agilty is required by
locomotion and drive.
Attack power: This is how much damage it can cause and is useful with good
weaponry.

Buying Robots
This is a useful way of gaining robots if you have alot of money. When you
are in the robot shop you can take a choice on the type of robot you want
from the class of weight from Light to Superheavy. The lighter is
the cheaper but not as reliable as others. They are useful though as
they are needed in Small tournaments in pro mode. In super and
Heavy there are some robots from the tv show which are seriously expensive.
There is another way of claiming them without working up a mood with money.
Such as the good old cheats(see below).

That is about I can offer you on this section so moving on.

Cheats
That's right, every game has them and this is no exception.
1. When you are asked to give yourself a profile at the start of the game, call
yourself JPEARCE after the commentater of the UK show and my name and this will
give you all the tropies, arenas and 999 million pounds.
2. The rest are all about winning tournaments to unlock real robots on the
show and secret arenas.

Legal Stuff
1. This can only be posted on www.gamefaqs.com (THATS IT)
2. This should not be changed in any way shape or form unless you email me and ask.
3. More info is on Words of Notice on the top of the page.

FAQ (Frequently asked questions)
What is tank steering?
Tank steering in a simple way is that your left analog stick controls the
left side to go backwards and forwards and the right stick controls the right.
Push the sticks in opposite ways to move in different directions.

What is Left analog stick control mode?
Just using the left analog stick unlike standard where you use both.

The End
Ladies and gentlemen, boys and girls it is that time again. For me to close
the curtains, shut the door or end the show. I hope this has helped you in
someway. Cheers. Goodbye, bon voyage, Auf Weidersen or See ya later.
Can you crack my puzzle? I don't think so.You can find the answer to my
secret message in Gran turismo concept at the top of this FAQ.
