To use this, if there's something you wish to find instantly in my FAQ, in the above table, on the left is the name of a section or sub-section. To the right is a weird code, like GOK5.1. Basically, if you wish to go to the section where I tell you about Goku under The Playable Characters Of The Story, on your Keyboard, hold Ctrl and then hit F and a window will open. Type in GOK5.1 and hit Find Next. It'll bring you to that section instantly. The code to reach the Table Of Contents is just that: Table Of Contents. I hope this makes browsing my FAQs easier for you. Enjoy! =-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-= = I. Introduction . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . [ INTR1 ] = =-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-= Hello and welcome to another one of Kain Stryder's Walkthroughs. This time, I'm handling Rise Of The Kasai for IGN. I'll be covering everything this game has to offer, so don't fret anything. I've never touched Mark Of The Kri, so I don't really know much about the game's history, but after playing through Rise Of The Kasai, I have a good grasp on the story. Anyway, before I continue, let me just say the following: I wrote this for the public to access for free and to get help in a game, not for some petty thief to rip and steal my work to make a extra buck. So please, use my walkthrough as a source and handbook and don't edit it in any way, shape or form to add or claim as your own. Anyway, with that said, let's get onto the walkthrough and I hope you have a blast with Rise Of The Kasai! Update: This Walkthrough is now available at GameFAQs, Neoseeker and any other sites I've allowed via E-Mail to host this file. If I did not give you permission to host this FAQ on your site, then you're hosting it illegally and if you're reading this on a site with any variatin of "cheat" in its name, please notify me so I may take the necessary action. Thanks. =-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-= = II. Current Updates . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . [ CURUP2 ]= =-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-= 9/7/08 - Added a Warning to the start of The Walkthrough about the Arena Challenges, courtesy of Kyussisgod. Other than that, no other changes or updates made. 5/24/07 - Revised this Walkthrough with information related to obtaining each Tuku in the game, since I don't have a real solid Walkthrough in the first place. This'll help you in the game, however, I only did this as it's not as straight forward in finding these as the basic game is. I hope this helps you. Enjoy! 5/23/07 - Just writing in to let any readers know if they E-Mail me any questions or comments, that my address still works. My willpower to write walkthroughs over the last few years died, mostly to college and real life, but I may just start this up again. Feel free to write in, thanks. 5/5/05 - I've completed this walkthrough with everything listed. I also marked it as the Final version, meaning I won't update it anymore unless I get reader submitted information or I myself find mistakes, errors, etc. With that said, enjoy the walkthrough, as I hope it helps you. Enjoy Rise Of The Kasai! Note: I apologize for there not really being a bunch of content in this guide, as there's really nothing to cover in the game...pretty much everything I have here is all you need to know about and all there really is to write. =-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-= = III. FAQ (Frequently Asked Questions.) . . . . . . . . . . . . [ FAQ3 ] = =-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-= Q. Is there a reason why you don't have a walkthrough for the main Stages? A. Yes. Basically, each Stage is so straight forward, there's really honestly NO way to write a clear walkthrough for the game. Even with all the so called "Challenges", the game allows you to do as you wish, as I ignored nearly every guideline and suggestion and just bum rushed every enemy, rarely attempting stealth. If you need a walkthrough for any of the Stages...perhaps you shouldn't be playing this game. Q. For the Challenges in each Stage, how do I know when I've completed them? Also, why don't you have a walkthrough for these as well? A. If you've meet the requirements, "*checkmark* Challenge" will pop up on your screen clear as day and will appear checked under Challenges in the Menu. As for the walkthrough on them...honestly, the game tells you exactly what needs to be done and performing what it asks isn't that hard. If you can't complete a Challenge with 1 character, it may mean you need to be the other character for that level to do it. It's not as if the game DOESN'T tell you what the Challenges are, so don't fret, it tells you all in game, which is very helpful. Q. What about the Tukus? Can you please list them? A. Alright...now in the walkthrough is an actual Walkthrough section, letting you know where each Tuku is. However, there is still no real walkthrough, as the game points you where you need to go, along with on screen objectives that are pointless for me to explain to you. Q. How do I unlock costumes, arenas, etc? A. Costumes as far as I know, are ONLY unlocked if you have a Save File from Mark Of The Kri on your Memory Card. I personally didn't have this, as I've never played Mark Of The Kri. As for Arenas, if you find find all the Tukus, you'll unlock new weapons to use. For the Areans, you need to complete all the Challenges in each Stage and for Cheats, you need to enter button combinations at the start up screen. Q. When I enter a Stage and check the Challenges, I can't do a few...why? A. It's because you're not playing the right character. It just means in order to complete that challenge, you must go through the Stage again as the other character to meet those Challenges. Q. If I enjoyed Mark Of Kri, will I enjoy Rise Of The Kasai? A. I can't answer that honestly. I never played Mark Of Kri, however I did hear from numerous people that if you did, you certainly will. Q. I'm stuck in a level, what can I do? I've looked around and around, there's nothing to do. Help! A. Alright, quite simple. Usually, there's ladders above you or something you can target. I believe hitting them or targeting them will open a new way for you. Most of the questions I've had pertains to one level, where you need to hit a ladder to continue on. =-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-= = IV. How To Play . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . [ HOTOP4 ]= =-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-= --------------------------------------------------------------------------- - A. Controls And Menus . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . [ COAM4.1 ] - --------------------------------------------------------------------------- Alrighty, here's a rundown on the basic controls of the game. D-Pad - Does nothing. Select Button - Brings up the map of the area. Start Button - Brings up the Menu ingame. Left Analog Stick - Walk, run, climb, etc. Right Analog Stick - Point or sweep to assign Attack Icons. X Button - Attack the enemy who has a X over his head. Also used to finish an enemy off when they're laying on the ground, as well as exit the Scouting Mode. Square Button - Attack the enemy who has a Square over his head. Circle Button - Attack the enemy who has a Circle over his head. Triangle Button - Go back and forth between you and Kuzo or the Spirits when you're in Scouting Mode. Also used to open doors, pull switches and access Shrines, as well as exit Scouting Mode. R1 Button - Guard, Shatter Arrows or Disarm Enemy. You can only disarm them when you're unarmed. R2 Button - Hold it down to bring up your Weapon Menu and use the Left Analog Stick to choose your Weapon. When you just tap it, you'll put away your current weapon and if you hit it again, you'll bring the weapon back out. L1 Button - When you tap this, you'll center your behind your character, helping greatly when you've got enemies behind you. When you hold it, you'll go into first view and pressing the Left Analog Stick lets you swing the camera, etc. L2 Button - When you see stray beams of light, aim your camera at them and hit this to have Kuzo or the Spirits go up into Scouting Mode. L3 Button - Does nothing. R3 Button - Break the lock-on you have on your enemies. That does it for the controls of the game, now onto the various Menus and such. After you load the game up and get past the initial menu, you'll be brought to a tree with wind chyme type objects all around it. These act as the various menus, so here's a rundown on each: Levels - Let's you play the main story of the game. At the bottom of each Level Selection, there's the number of Challenges and Tukus in each level and how many you've collected of each so far. Last Saved Game - Lets you load data from your Memory Card so you can start off where you last started. Note that the game allows you to save up to 3 different save files. Visit Arenas - For completing all the Challenges of each level, you'll unlock a new Arena to play around in, allowing you to try new Challenges. Inside you have two options of play: Time Attack - You have a time limit to defeat a certain amount of enemies. Body Count - You have a limited amount of time to defeat as many enemies as you can. Extras - Lets you view Cheats, Movies and Outfits from the game. However you need to enter button combinations and/or have a Mark Of Kri Save File on your Memory Card to have these. Delete Game - Allows you to delete Saved Data off your Memory Card. Load Game - Lets you choose which Save Data off your Memory Card you wish to load, where as Last Saved Game loads the one you last saved. The Pause Menu - During the main game, when you hit the Start Button, this Menu pops up with the following options: Resume Play - Click this to exit this menu and return to the game. Restart Section - When you do this option, you'll restart the subsection of the level you're in. Options - Under this section is the following: Camera Control - Choose the following camera options: Cinematic - The camera will move about the fight for maximum impact. Camera Shake - This turns on or off the camera shake that occurs when an enemy strike your character. Invert Vertical - This inverts the vertical camera. The default is set to "Off". Sound - Lets you choose between Mono or Stereo. Gameplay - Under this section is the following: Vibration - Turn on and off the Vibration function. The default setting is "On". Always Show Health - Choose "On" to always have your character's Health Meter displayed during play. The default setting is "Off". Show Hint Messages - This turns on or off the hints that appear during play. The default setting is "Off". Friendly Damage - This turns on or off friendly damage that your character may accidently incur or dole out against your ally. The default setting in "Off". Controller - This option displays the controller layout. Moves List - Based on how many enemies you're currently locked onto, the move list will constantly change, so refer to this for your current combos you can perform. When in here, view the Combo Tree to get a complete understanding of the combos, again depending how many enemies you're currently locked onto. Level Challenge - Each level has Challenges for you to complete. When you complete a Challenge, you'll see a flash on your screen, notifying you about it. Completing all the Challenges will unlock a new Arena for you. Recall Hints - Using this feature allows you to view previously mentioned game tips. Use the Square Button to backtrack through the hints and the Circle Button to move forward through the hints. Even if you have the messages turned off, if you reached the area where you'd normally get a hint, they'll still be here. Exit Level - Choose this to exit the level completely and return to the Main Menu. Well, there you go. Not a whole lot to the controls/menus in this game, but there you go. --------------------------------------------------------------------------- - B. Moving Around/Battle System . . . . . . . . . . . . . . [ MOABS4.2 ] - --------------------------------------------------------------------------- Ok, let's start off with the basics. Before we get into the straight fighting, let's examine the Spirit Guides. Spirit Guides - For Baumusu and Rau, they have Kuzo, the "main character" of the game, who must go back into time and revist events that led up to Rau's Death. For Griz and Tati, they have the Spirits Of The Dead. To use them, you must have a ray of light insight, which isn't hard to notice. When you see beams of light, sort of like smoke going into the sky, aim your camera at it and hit the L2 Button to enter Scouting Mode. Scouting Mode - When in this mode, swing the camera around to look around, which lets you see what type of enemies are around up ahead. To go back to your character, hit the Triangle Button and to call back Kuzo or the Spirits Of The Dead, hit the L2 Button again. Ok, with that out of the way, lets now move onto the Battle System. Focus Beam - Swing the Right Analog Stick around to get the Focus Beam to appear and when enemies are in range and they're hit with it, buttons will appear over their head. This means to hit that enemy, you must hit the button assigned to them. Even if you're attacking 1 enemy, you can hit another button and immediately go after another, opening up some very devastating combos and attacks. Attack Icons - The icons that can appear over the heads of enemies when they're hit with the Focus Beam are X, Square and Circle Buttons. Moving In Combat - When you use the Focus Beam, the first enemy you locked onto, your character will run after. Once he's dead, you'll go to the next enemy and so forth. Health Meter - When you take damage or you go to change Weapons, a small half circle will appear around your character's feet. The colors mean: Green: Healthy. Yellow: Moderately damaged. Red: Dangerously hurt. To see the the Health Meter of the enemy, you first need to hit them once. Basic Attacks - When you've locked onto a single enemy, hit the X Button to start hitting them. However, when you've locked onto multiple enemies, you need to hit the corresponding buttons to go after the enemies you want to go after. This can also help to perform great combos. Now, to defend attacks, hold the R1 Button and to defend arrows, you must time yourself pressing the R1 Button right as the arrow hits you to shatter it. Disarming The Enemy - When you're unarmed and fighting an enemy, if you hit the R1 Button right when the enemy attacks you and you'll disarm them and then use their weapon to instantly kill them. However, if you use this ability too much, it becomes harder and harder to execute later on and less effective. Attack Combos - When you have the Focus Beam locked onto enemies, use the X, Square and Circle Buttons to perform combos. Check the Menu via the Start Button and under Move List, you'll see the attacks you can perform with your character. Now, if you're locked onto more than 1 enemy, say, X and Square are taken up, you can only use the Circle Button in your combination attacks. If all 3 are taken up...well, you're pretty left out on combinations until 1 of them isn't on a enemy. To perform the combo, you need to time the button combinations carefully, hitting the next button in the combo by the time the last attack is about to end. Instant Kill Combos - When you unleash a combo attack, if it hits nearby enemies, it'll instantly kill them and scare off the ones it didn't hit. However, the more you use this, the better the enemies get at defending these attacks. Stealth Attacks - To enter Stealth Mode, you must first be unarmed. Once you are, you can Stealth Kill any enemy that hasn't seen you yet. Run up behind a enemy or two and Focus Beam them and creep up to them. When the X and/or Square Button stops flashing, you can hit the X Button to start the Stealth Kill, and when it's about done, hit the Square Button to kill the next enemy. Just be careful not to get TOO close or you'll bump into a enemy and alert them. Wall Stealth - When you're unarmed, head up to a wall to lean on it and shimmy along. When a enemy is around the corner, swing the Focus Beam around to target him and when the icon above their head isn't flashing, you can hit the X Button to perform the Stealth Kill. Roof Stealth - When on a roof with a enemy below you on a ledge, get close to the ledge and your camera will fix itself to look below you. Use the Focus Beam to target the enemy and when the icon stops flashing, hit the X Button to perform the Stealth Kill. Ok, that's all on Stealth. However, with Tati, if you remain on the wall and stand still, you'll turn invisible and enemies won't notice you at all, helping with your Stealth Killing. Also, if you disturb a flock of birds or hit a monkey to run at enemies, they'll look at the birds or monkey, aiding you in your Stealth Kill further. Keep this in mind. --------------------------------------------------------------------------- - C. Tips & Tricks . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . [ TITRI4.3 ] - --------------------------------------------------------------------------- - Despite what the game offers you, advice wise, ignore it. I found doing my own thing was generally much better and I managed quite easily the whole game, NEVER listening to the game at all. - Your partner in each level basically doesn't assist you as much as you think. Never wait up for them, just go about doing your own thing. Though, sometimes you'll meet up with them and you'll want to help them in their fights, even though they fight VERY well and don't take much damage. Other than that, don't truly expect to be with your partner at all, as the game likes to have your partner run away from you whenever it can. - Save your game whenever you come across a Shrine. I can't urge this enough, as you could end up dead just around the corner, so you always want to be prepared. - When running into a fight with unalerted enemies, look for a shining light on the enemies, as these are the Horn Blowers. Kill them from afar with a Ranged Weapon so they don't call in more fodder for you to deal with. This'll make your life much, much easier. - During a level, when you reach the end of a area, there'll be a swirling orange fire. You'll know when the end is, when your partner is standing nearby and doing nothing. However if the fire isn't orange, but instead blue, then you haven't killed every enemy yet around the area, so go back and do so. Otherwise, enter this, as it's the end of part of the level. - For each Stage, it truly doesn't matter who you pick to play as, it's more of a matter of who you'd like to play. Baumusu and Rau are the brutes, strong but slow and Griz and Tati are the weak but fast fighters, so it really just depends what you like better. Of course, some Challenges may or may not be able to be completed depending on who you play in each Stage, so you'll have to replay the Stage as the other character to complete them. - To access the Map of each area, press the Select Button and you can see the Map. Also, to see what your partner is doing, when looking at the Map, press the X Button to switch to your partner and the Triangle Button to return back to you. =-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-= = [ V. The Characters Of The Story ] . . . . . . . . . . . . . [ TCOTS5 ] = =-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-= WARNING: There are possibly SOME spoilers below on the characters...if you don't wish to see this, skip it now, otherwise, consider yourself warned. --------------------------------------------------------------------------- - A. Rau . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . [ RA5.1 ]- --------------------------------------------------------------------------- One of the last Rakus, a clan formed that swears to exterminate the Kasai and bring peace to their world. Rau, the adoptive son of Baumusu, is trained in the ways of the Rakus. One of the tall and silent types, he rarely talks, but makes up for this with his brute force and vitality. He originally was found by Baumusu and Griz, protecting his sister, Tati, from the Kasai. Shown as having great courage and strength, this is why he was trained as a Raku, as it was found this fit him quite well. You'll control him frequently through the game, as you uncover how he died. --------------------------------------------------------------------------- - B. Tati . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . [ TAT5.2 ]- --------------------------------------------------------------------------- The sister of Rau and the adoptive daughter of Griz, Tati is one of the marked, as it's called. She has a tatoo of a symbol on her body, which is a seal the Kasai want dearly and that is why they are tracking her. Rau has always kept her safe and once Baumusu and Griz found them both and took them in, they started their crusade against the Kasai to bring peace back to their world. A fast talker and fighter, she seems to be confused about herself and is at a constant struggle with her demons and is constantly fighting the dark power within her. Something is definitely wrong with her and it's more greatly portrayed as the story goes on. --------------------------------------------------------------------------- - C. Baumusu . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . [ BAUM5.3 ]- --------------------------------------------------------------------------- The adoptive father of Rau, Baumusu plays out a lot like Rau does, pretty much the same way and everything. You don't play as him often, so don't really get use to him the times you do. He's more talkative than Rau is, with a good head on his shoulders and a solid, strong fighter. He and Griz also are fighting the Kasai, however not at the same time Rau and Tati are... --------------------------------------------------------------------------- - D. Griz . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . [ GRI5.4 ]- --------------------------------------------------------------------------- The partner of Baumusu and the adoptive father of Tati, Griz is also one of the last Rakus who protects The Oracle and fights the Kasai to bring piece back to the land. A fast talker and fighter as well, he plays a lot like Tati. However, he, like Baumasu, you don't play for him as long, so don't get use to him. --------------------------------------------------------------------------- - E. Kuzo . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . [ KUZ5.5 ]- --------------------------------------------------------------------------- A bird spirit guide and the "main character" of the game, he goes back in the past to relive parts of Rau's Adventurers to learn how he was killed. Other than that, not much else is really known about him. --------------------------------------------------------------------------- - F. The Oracle . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . [ THOR5.6 ] - --------------------------------------------------------------------------- A sacred tree to the Rakus, she acts like a guide to them in their crusade against the Kasai. Like Kuzo, not much is known about her, as not much information is given. Some insight is given near the end of the game, but that's about it and you'll have to wait and see. --------------------------------------------------------------------------- - E. Armored Enemies . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . [ ARME5.7 ]- --------------------------------------------------------------------------- Heavily armored Kasai members. They can't be hurt with Ranged Weapons at all when wearing armor and it takes much more attacks against them to kill them, as their armor really does protect them quite well. --------------------------------------------------------------------------- - F. Archers . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . [ ARCH5.8 ]- --------------------------------------------------------------------------- Weak Kasai members that use bow and arrows to fight with. Very pesty and annoying to kill, these things can easily take you down in a dog fight, as they can stop you mid combo, further frustrating you. (Sometimes Archers are also armored, so you MUST be careful when you come across them, as you may not be able to reach them right away.) --------------------------------------------------------------------------- - G. Horn Blowers . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . [ HOBL5.9 ] - --------------------------------------------------------------------------- Weak Kasai members that man a horn that when they see your character, they'll blow a horn to call in Enforcers. --------------------------------------------------------------------------- - H. Enforcers . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . [ ENFO5.10 ] - --------------------------------------------------------------------------- Your typical normal grunt, these Kasai appear when alerted by Horn Blowers and usually come on hordes, so take them out fast, as it won't take much to drop them. --------------------------------------------------------------------------- - I. Leader Of The Kasai . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . [ LOTKA5.11 ]- --------------------------------------------------------------------------- I won't disclose his name, since it's kind of a spoiler, but he's your main enemy you're after in this game. Wanting power for himself, he's after various people who have these tatoos of powerful ancient magic on their skin. Tati is one of them, so they are after her and Rau. You won't meet him often, but when you do, you'll see how badass he is, heh heh. =-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-= = [ VI. The Walkthrough ] . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . [ THEWA6 ]= =-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-= WARNING: There's apparently a possible glitch in the game. From Kyussisgod: There's a very bad glitch in Rise Of The Kasai. Test it for yourself. If you die after you've completed a level or Arena Challenges, whatever it unlocks stays locked. That is, if you save the game after you complete the level having already died once or more. Example - If you complete Vaitaku's Challenges and the text across screen reads "New Arena Unlocked" and then you die afterwards, Arena 6 remains locked. Same goes for Arenas/Costumes/Movies. --------------------------------------------------------------------------- - A. The Beginning . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . [ THEBE6.1 ] - --------------------------------------------------------------------------- Enjoy the nice, long narrated opening story. :) Note: Because the game is so basic, in the sense that every level is so straight forward, I can't really give a description on where to go. The game basically guides you, especially with the Challenges, as they're listed in your Menu, in full detail, explaining what to do. Not to mention you also have a detailed Map showing you. For the most part, I WILL list where the Tukus are, as these aren't exactly in plain sight. --------------------------------------------------------------------------- - B. Ending . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . [ ENDI6.13 ]- --------------------------------------------------------------------------- Basically, there's 2 Endings. One's good, one's bad. If you don't pick the choice correctly, watch the cutscene then attempt again. It gets annoying I know, but keep at it. Check the Boss Guide for more information on the Boss, though. Once you win, sit back and enjoy the Ending. Congratulations on beating Rise Of The Kasai. Now, if you haven't, go try Mark Of Kri, as apparently, that's even better than this game I've heard. =-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-= = [ VI. Boss Guide ] . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . [ BOSGU6 ] = =-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-= --------------------------------------------------------------------------- - A. Tentacles . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . [ TENT6.1 ]- --------------------------------------------------------------------------- Strategy - The tentacles are pretty easy to take out, it's just there's so many of them...anyway, basically use your strongest attacks and combos on these things and when they get weak, they'll go into a protective state where you can't harm them. Now, the only thing you need to watch out for here is the tentacles grapping you or your partner and then throwing you around for some really high damage. Other than that, just kill fast and grab any Health Icons you may need and they'll fall. --------------------------------------------------------------------------- - B. Dragon/Twin Dragons . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . [ DRATWI6.2 ]- --------------------------------------------------------------------------- Strategy - Depending on who you're playing as, Rau or Tati, you're either fighting the Dragon or Kasai. For Rau, you must use your Bow to fight the Dragon. The only time you can attack it is when it's standing still and floating in the air. Shoot at the yellow circle on his chest and when you see it scream in pain, you know you hit it. If by the time you see the thing on its chest to red and you haven't hit it, RUN off the top platform, as it's going to do a Fire Breath attack that'll kill you. Just keep repeating shooting at it and it'll die. Be careful of the stray Kasai Tati doesn't get and be prepared to fight and kill it. As for Tati, just run and kill Kasai while making sure Rau is free to attack the Dragon and not being attacked. Strategy - When you fight two Dragons, basically the same strategy as before, only you'll most likely die a few times getting a feel for this fight, so expect it. If you're Rau, you need to really pay attention to the Kasai running around. However, you should try and ignore them if there's only 1 or 2 on you and just focus on shooting arrows at whatever Dragon is open to shoot at. When you hit the Dragon, it'll create a shockwave on the tower, making all the Kasai drop. When this happens, you can just instant kill them while they're laying there, so that helps. If you need Health Icons, there's stuff down there to get. As for Tati, you really got your work cut out for you. Kill fast, combo a LOT and just be alert and help Rau at all times. --------------------------------------------------------------------------- - C. Spider Kasai . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . [ SPIKA6.3 ]- --------------------------------------------------------------------------- Strategy - (Note: At the cutscene before this, Tati is given a choice. The game switches back and forth on the choices and you need to time your selection right, otherwise the game chooses for you. If you get the bad option, you restart the cutscene again after a brief Boss Battle and reselecting the Stage. Otherwise, you start.) As this begins, the boss is a spider like creature who has Kasai fighters as part of his legs. What you need to do is kill the Kasai fighters running around and also aim and knock out the ones on his legs. Once all the Kasai on his legs are dead, he'll fall down. When this happens, aim at the big red crystal above you and when it disappears, shoot the weird object as many times as you can. Repeat this until the boss dies. =-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-= = [ VII. Weapon/Item List ] . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . Use the Left Analog Stick to highlight a Weapon and release the R2 Button to select and use that weapon. To Instant Kill a enemy, aim at their head and if you hit it, they'll die. Make a note that Ranged Weapons need ammo and you need to pick up the appropreate Icons for them, otherwise you can't use them. --------------------------------------------------------------------------- - B. Items . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . [ ITE7.2 ] - --------------------------------------------------------------------------- Health Icons - These are red colored Icons, which regenerate either 25, 50 or 100% Health. Rune Of Power - Collecting these gives you another Health Bar as well as fully recovers your current Health. Only 4 total can be collected per sub Stage, so be sure to always grab them to up your Health. Save Altar - Small Altars that let you Save your game. VERY useful, always use them. Tukus - Weird Tiki looking Icons that when all are collected, new secrets are unlocked in the game. Story Altar - When examined in some Stages, you get a brief insight into Rise Of The Kasai's Story further than what the normal story gives. =-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-= = VIII.
