# 1. Introduction #

Hello to those of you who are familiar with the game and yet wanted to know the
script for it. As you may know, PaRappa the Rapper 2 is a sequel to the first
PaRappa the Rapper game and, like said game and Um Jammer Lammy, is the
brainchild of Japanese game developer NanaOn-Sha. This time, it was created in
2001, two years after Um Jammer Lammy, and five years after the first PaRappa
game and had the same unique graphics style design in the same universe as both
predecessors; but this game, however, has a more 3D fluid appeal fit for the
Sony PlayStation 2. Even better is that many characters from PaRappa 1 and UJL
are back in PaRappa 2, and the game even boasts a number of new gameplay
elements.

The game was released in Japan on August 30, 2001, and had moderate success as
both predecessors. Then in late 2001, NanaOn-Sha and Sony Computer
Entertainment wanted to release the game to U.S. shores to make it appeal to
American audiences, but there was a bit of a problem on the game's U.S.
release. As the Entertainment Software Rating Board was almost in its eighth
year of creation by the Entertainment Software Association, the game needed
approval for the "Everyone" rating in order to be released commercially to both
kids and adults in the States. However, while the game not only depicted
religious content but also had alcohol references in Japan, SCEA would STILL
not allow games with such content that would be too intense for an "Everyone"
rating to merit commercial release. (Japan's Computer Entertainment Rating
Organization STILL wasn't developed until almost 10 months later at the time of
the game's release there.) This time, the sources for such content were Stages
1, 3, and 6. Stage 1 had a song that mentioned burgers tasting "better than
wine," and according to the ESRB, the wine in the lyric is an "Alcohol
Reference". In the songs for both Stages 3 and 6, one of the teachers, Guru
Ant, proclaimed himself to be "the lord", where "everybody knows [his] name."
But here is a problem according to the ESRB: when you are a human, proclaiming
yourself to be "the lord" was considered blasphemy (which the Taliban would not
have liked ever since the September 11, 2001, attacks in the USA almost two
weeks after the game's release in Japan), and it is a reference to religion
that could be provocative, hence one of the "Suggestive Themes". And I suppose
that proclaiming oneself as "lord" can make a mockery of Jesus himself! :P
But I kind of believe, like Masaya Matsuura of NanaOn-Sha himself, that
proclaiming oneself as "lord" is a form of hero-worship that his team was
trying to defend. This is kind of like "Ozzy [Osbourne] Is God!" or the "Dear
Policeman, I Am God" message on the Death Tarot Card in the sniper attacks in
2002, or like the song "Gaston" from Disney's "Beauty and the Beast", or a
friend boasting, "I am great, and no one is better than me," to make everyone
praise and fall in love with him. But still, all of such content would have
been considered "Mild Lyrics", which would have been qualifiable for a "Teen"
rating, or at least an "Everyone 10+" rating (the latter of which hadn't been
established by the ESRB for almost another three years).

Where Um Jammer Lammy had been heavily hit by U.S. censorship, PaRappa 2 was
moderately slapped in the face. To remedy the three problematic stages, Sony
Computer Entertainment America and NanaOn-Sha rewrote the lyrics on all of
their rap songs so that: A. for Stage 1, they no longer make a reference to
wine, B. for Stages 3 and 6, they now have Guru Ant proclaim himself to be "the
man", as in "You da man! You da man!" and C. they had to fit the Stage 1
lyrics in the first part of Stage 6, because "Warm the buns" didn't fit in
right. (It's kind of weird that they kept the Stage 3 lyric, "My mind is like
a demon," yet "demon" is a reference to the devil, yet why they kept "demon" in
PaRappa 2, but not "the devil" in Um Jammer Lammy, is beyond me. Also, they
still kept the song reference for the original Stage 1, "Taste better than
water," in Stage 7, but not "Taste better than wine" in Stage 1 itself! Weird!
:P Yet even weirder is the fact that they left in the lyric "My buns are very
toasty" in Stage 1, which could be a "suggestive theme", and some scenes that
implied homosexuality during Stage 2 and Stage 7! I guess they should have
put in "Mild Lyrics", but whatever! X_X ) Anyway, after all that reworking,
the game developers and producers had the voice actors reprise their roles as
Parappa (John Simpson III, a.k.a. Dred Foxx), Beard Burger Master (Ethan
Eubanks), and Guru Ant (Dean Bowman); then the game made a final test run
before it was finally released to U.S. shores on January 22, 2002. Later on,
the game was sent to Europe to undergo classification by the Entertainment and
Leisure Software Publishers Association (the Pan European Game Information
hadn't been established for another year); surprisingly, like Um Jammer Lammy,
the game was given the okay to be released as a PAL version on April 5, 2002,
with all the game's contents left intact and uncensored from Japan's version.
However, unlike its two predecessors, which received moderate praise, the game
was met with moderate criticism and failed to garner similar sales as PaRappa 1
or UJL; Metacritic gave the game a 67 out of 100 based on 26 critic reviews,
and GameRankings gave it about 68% based on 44 reviews.

Yet it is with my gratitude to the ordeals and legacy of the game that I now
write this script, which covers both versions of the game: the U.S. version,
and the Japan/PAL version. I will explain the differences in the songs in both
versions of the game, so without further ado, we move on to the...

# 2. Cast of Characters #

Parappa the Rapper: A.K.A. Parappa Rappa. Remember the adorable little puppy
protagonist you all grew up to love in the first PaRappa game and in Um Jammer
Lammy? Well, he's back again, and this time, he's still trying to impress his
love interest, Sunny Funny. He used to love noodles, but suddenly grows tired
of eating just noodles though he still loves them. Though Sunny cooks the
noodles, he feels depressed, and now tries to show her that he is not a baby
anymore while trying to handle off the noodle crisis that is becoming
widespread around Parappa Town, always with his trademark, familiar
catchphrase: "I gotta believe!" Like in the game's two predecessors, Parappa
is voiced by John Simpson III, a.k.a. Dred Foxx.

Sunny Funny: Yes, the flower girlfriend and Parappa's love interest is back.
She still has the cheery disposition yet is sometimes gullible, and her
favorite pastime is gardening and cooking some pasta, especially noodles. But
when she sees Parappa getting tired of eating just noodles, she calls him a
baby and wishes that he would just grow up, and now he's trying to act mature
if they want to see each other again. Unlike in PaRappa 1 and Um Jammer Lammy,
Sunny's voice role is now played by a new voice actress: Lea Alomar.

PJ Berri: The lazy, gluttonous bear from both predecessors is back. He is
still Parappa's best friend who loves food, doesn't know the meaning of the
word "rock 'n roll", and has a hidden agenda as "PJ the DJ", assisting Parappa
on his adventure to try and solve the noodle crisis. PJ can be very
uncomfortable when he gets a kiss from Parappa! :P Anyway, just like in
PaRappa 1 and UJL, PJ is voiced by Armstead Christian.

Katy Kat: Best friend of Parappa and Sunny. Katy is very decisive and a
natural-born leader to her friends. She is also a smart dresser who loves to
pass her time shopping, enjoys disco, and will try to get things organized.
She has recently joined MILKCAN as a bassist with her two friends, Lammy and
Ma-san, and could be involved in Parappa's mess when they try to get along well
in the "noodle incident" (no pun intended)! Unlike in PaRappa 1 and UJL, but
just like Sunny's voice role, Katy's is now played by a new voice actress:
Shannon White.

Lammy: Yes, the main protagonist of Um Jammer Lammy is back! As you may recall
in said game, Lammy is the one who got caught up in a lot of mess while trying
hard to arrive at her concert on time: helping put out fires, taking care of
baby rabbits, helping a pilot with a multiple-personality disorder fly a plane,
helping a crazed tree-chopping beaver make a guitar out of a tree, and even
either giving up the ghost only to win it back in hell (Japan/PAL version) or
getting catapulted backwards in time onto a tropical island and finding a way
to return to the present (U.S. version), all by battling it out with a
supernatural diva. Lammy is also the guitarist of MILKCAN and somehow gets
involved in Parappa's mess along with Katy and Ma-san when they try to get
along well in the "noodle incident" as well. Even hotter is that instead of
her stutter, she gets a bit of a Hispanic accent! Like in her main game, Lammy
is voiced by (who else?) the "Grey's Anatomy" star Sara Ramirez! And she's
still as sexy as ever! Hotsa, hotsa! :D ^_^

Ma-san: Yes, the tiny drummer with a dynamite fuse on her head is back from
UJL! Like in the game, little is known about her life other than the fact that
her father runs a pharmacy shop, and she is somehow shy yet talks in the same
old high-pitched, mumbled gibberish worthy of Mumbles from "Dick Tracy". She
also has a very short temper, so if you try to tick her off, her fuse will
light up, and she will go into Shin-Ma-san mode and let her drumsticks do the
talking. Along with Lammy and Katy, Ma-san somehow gets involved in Parappa's
mess when they try to get along well in the "noodle incident" as well. She is
voiced by Ryu Watabe in high-speed dubbing mode which sounds like a gibberish
chipmunk, just like in UJL! :P

Papa Parappa: Remember Parappa's father in the first PaRappa the Rapper game?
He is back, and he's still a gentle guy who gets all worrisome if something bad
happens to his valued possessions and antiques. His son once wrecked his car
in the first game, but with help from Rastafarian frog Prince Fleaswallow,
Parappa was able to replace the car and make it as good as it once was. Now
Papa Parappa hears the news of the noodle incident, and is trying hard to solve
it as soon and as fast as possible. Like PJ in the first PaRappa game, Papa
Parappa is voiced by Christian.

General Potter: Father of Sunny Funny. Remember him near the end of the first
PaRappa game? Well, he's back again, and he's still the leader of the military
who trains new recruits for the army and works out with Papa Parappa in an
effort to solve the noodle crisis that is becoming widespread all over Parappa
Town. Potter is voiced by John James.

Beard Burger Master: Owner, founder, and president of the Beard Burger
Restaurant. His lifelong dream was to make burgers and make a name for himself
by founding a food chain and selling burgers to his customers. When he died of
natural causes, his job was handed over to one of his apprentices, preferably
his son. Nowadays, things are not going so well, because of the noodle
incident that is plaguing the restaurant, and his son might be the cause of it
all. Though Beard Burger Master is sometimes referred to as "Master Beard", I
would like to call him just "Beard", as you will see in the storyline. His
voice accent kind of sounds like that of Arnold Schwarzenegger, the Governator!
:P Anyway, Beard is voiced by Ethan Eubanks. (P.S. Now I may sound crazy, but
it should be noted that in the McDonald's restaurant's custom-made demo version
of the game as a promo, instead of being shaped like Beard's head, the Beard
Burger restaurant is designed as a classic Mickey D's complete with the golden
twin arches. I guess the Mickey D's of 2001's Japan pre-August 30 had
something like Parappa to be proud of as its "Fast Food Nation" (named from a
book created on the same year as Japan's PaRappa 2 game!) and part of a Happy
Meal for kids... that is, as long as they stay away from wine! LOL XD)

Beard Burger Manager: Son of Beard Burger Master. Little is known about his
life, except that he was chosen as the successor to his father, who was on his
deathbed. The manager believes that he was doing his work on making the
burgers when all of a sudden they are turned into noodles. However, there
seems to be something odd about his behavior, and you'll find out later in the
game. Though he is the manager, I like to refer to him as "??????", as you
will see why later. He is voiced by Andrew Alonzo.

Chop Chop Master Onion: Yes, the onion-headed sensei from PaRappa 1 and UJL is
back! As you may recall, his Fruites Dojo had been devastated, yet remains in
his mind, complete with a casino. He even helped Parappa in his first game and
gave Lammy some advice: "Dojo, casino, it's all in the mind" (and even had the
power to predict her entire future in UJL!). Now that his dojo has been fixed,
he makes his own TV show about romantic karate and tries to teach his pupils,
especially his Tamanegis (onion pupils), about fighting for love. (It kind of
reminds me of the Janglish song "Let's Fighting Love" from the South Park
episode "Good Times with Weapons". :P) Not only that, but Chop Chop also
hosts a minigame in which Parappa has to break the plates the Tamanegis are
holding, and in good timing, to score points. Like Ma-san, Chop Chop is voiced
by Watabe.

Guru Ant: An ant whose power and philosophy help people who have been shrunk
down to size where the legs are long. He feels mellow when he is small, but he
can get incredibly timid when he gets bigger than his normal size. Lately he
gets tired of people changing the world with crimes, violence, wars, famine
and whatnot, and he makes a philosophy about human rights. He even boasts to
be a favorite, which has something to do with religious issues about blasphemy,
as you will see why later. Oh, and did I mentions that his face is kind of a
parody of blackface? (O_O) Anyway, Guru Ant is voiced by Dean Bowman.

Instructor Moosesha: Moosesha (pronounced Moo-say-sha) is a badass moose who
wears a tutu and military pants. Though you may not know it, she is the
younger sister of Instructor Mooselini from PaRappa 1 (you know, the one who
taught Parappa to drive, forgetting to close the car door in the process! LOL).
Moosesha tries to help Parappa get through the military obstacle course, but
don't take her lightly, or she will whoop you real silly! She is voiced by not
one, but two (!) voice actresses: Kimberly Queen and Aaminah Hassell.

Hairdresser Octopus: An upside-down octopus head who seems to have a bad case
of schizophrenia, a bindi on his head, and a high-pitched Latino accent. He
cuts and styles people's hair at his salon. Nowadays, since the "noodle
incident" crisis, he seems to be hypnotized into making noodle afros that could
soon swallow up the people. His appearance is red when he is under the
influence of the hypnotizing noodle music, yet becomes blue when under normal
circumstances. He is voiced by Freedom Bremner.

Colonel Noodle: A dictator and ruler of the Noodle Syndicate who seemingly
turns the world's food into noodles. It is seemingly unsure what his
intentions are, though my guess is that he wants the noodles all to himself.
It is unknown what his identity is, though some claim that he seems to bear a
striking semblance to Beard Burger Master's son somehow. Though the voice and
subtitles call him "Colonel Noodles", I prefer to call him by just "Noodle".
Anyway, Noodle is also voiced by Alonzo, though he may have the same voice as
the Beard Burger Manager.

MC King Kong Mushi: Yes, the flea master of ceremonies from PaRappa 1 is back.
Always the entertainer at Club Fun, he is idolized by all the youths at Parappa
Town and hosts wild parties to keep the whole crowd going (he is sometimes
labeled as "Gangsta DJ", if you ask me :P). King Kong Mushi has a different
voice actor, and it is the same guy who voiced Guru Ant, Dean Bowman.

Other Characters:

Boxy Boy: Remember PJ's walking blue boombox from PaRappa 1? Well, he's back
again. But this time, in this game, he shows up in the middle of the opening
cutscene of almost every stage to offer a practice run on one of the lyrics.
If Parappa can get three successful runs in a row, the stage will then
progress, though the player can also skip the practice by pressing the Start
button. Like Hairdresser Octopus, Boxy Boy is voiced by Bremner.

Captain Fussenpepper: Yes, the pilot with the multiple-personality disorder
from Um Jammer Lammy is back! He still seems to go into strict sargent mode
and back again whenever something lands on and bonks his head, though it
happened quite a lot in UJL. However, he is only on the Options Menu screen,
so it's kind of optional to see him again. Like Chop Chop and Ma-san,
Fussenpepper is voiced by Watabe.

Joe Chin: Yes, the boastful, pompous dog from Parappa 1 and UJL is back, but he
doesn't do much other than being an attention pimp a few times in scenes and
not much else. Like Chop Chop, Ma-san and Fussenpepper, Joe is voiced by
Watabe.

# 3. Script #

Now before I get started on the script to PaRappa the Rapper 2 and its
dialogue, I would like to point out the terminology that will be used in this
guide:

EXT: External, Outside. Example: EXT. Parappa Town.
INT: Internal, Inside. Example: INT. Movie Theater.
V.O.: Voice Over. Example: Parappa (V.O.).
O.C.: Off Camera. Example: Sunny (O.C.).
[(sic)]: Mistake made in the subtitle while the person speaks. Example:
Potter: Any which way, we've got to [the subtitle error says "we gotta"] think
of something.

In the Song Lyrics:

[(US)/(JAP/PAL)]: One song word/phrase in the U.S. version which is different
from the other song word/phrase in Japan's and PAL's versions, which will be
used occasionally in Stages 1, 3, and 6. Example: "We cook the best! [You
better get in line./Taste better than wine.]" means that in the U.S. version
it's "We cook the best! You better get in line." while in the Japan/PAL
version it's "We cook the best! Taste better than wine." More on that later.

I will also write each song to act as if I were playing it in Good Mode only
(and also only playing the Red Difficulty Level 1 in this game), plus, instead
of using the main character as "PaRappa" like in the PaRappa 1 and UJL scripts,
I will refer to use him as "Parappa" to comply to the game's spelling. Plus,
the game will have a lot of bad grammar/punctuation, so I will correct every
error I will encounter. And I may try to correct any mistakes in the script as
best as I can, okay? Get it? Got it? Good. Let's start with...

*3.1. Pre-Game Intro*

Sony Computer Entertainment America Presents

NanaOn-Sha (TM)

EXT. STREETS -- NIGHT

It is a terrifying night in the streets, as the crowds are running away from
the one-eyed green noodle monster, which stomps on a truck that was driving in
the streets and spits out noodles. Scene pulls out to reveal...

INT. MOVIE THEATER

An audience is sitting inside watching the scene. Among them are the yellow-
shirted punk and the green-shirted one. As they watch the scene when a fighter
jet flies around the monster, scene cuts to reveal, from right to left: Ma-san,
Lammy and Katy Kat of MILKCAN; Sunny Funny; Parappa Rappa; and PJ Berri looking
in shock and awe at seeing the scene.

EXT. STREETS -- NIGHT

The one-eyed green noodle monster is still spitting out noodles to attack the
town, then stops and sees fighter planes passing him by, then looks around at
the camera.

INT. MOVIE THEATER

Suddenly something rips out from the movie screen, and Parappa looks frightened
at the sight of the emerging noodle monster, who then spits out noodles at the
frightened audience; everyone runs away screaming and the scene fades into
Parappa running along with the entire audience in the blackness. The noodles
are shot out of the blackness, and he looks around to see them gaining up on
the audience. They attempt to make an escape for the exit on the colored
doors, and he runs out of the blue one and closes it behind the noodles and
locks the door. Just when he feels safe, he feels the ground shake under him,
and tries to keep the door closed as fast as he can. There are the pounding of
footsteps as the camera comes up closer to the doors in the noodle monster's
point of view. Scene cuts to Parappa still trying hard to keep the blue door
shut in fear, as the monster makes a leap for the door and pounds on it hard;
then it cuts to his eye opening and him gasping in shock before cutting into...

INT. PARAPPA'S ROOM

Parappa wakes up with a gasp of shock and puts his hands up close to his
pounding heart to keep himself from getting a heart attack. He looks around at
the entire room with noodle cups around it to make sure that the noodle monster
scene was only a dream, and the scene fades to the boxes of noodle cups all
over the place, even near a picture of Sunny and an alarm clock.

Parappa (V.O.): It all started a while back.

Camera moves onto the coupons next to the noodles and the picture as the
narration continues.

Parappa (V.O.): I got this coupon at a burger shop.

Scene then fades to more cups of noodles.

Parappa (V.O.): And I won a 100 years' supply of noodle products.

Camera moves to the pictures that had fallen onto the floor near the desk
before fading to black.

INT. PARAPPA'S HOUSE

There is a close-up of a fork and plate of noodles popping up on the table as
the narration continues.

Parappa (V.O.): Since then, for breakfast, lunch and dinner, I'm eating
noodles.

Camera moves up close to Parappa's father, Papa Parappa, holding a noodle bowl
on the table before dropping it, which has a fish, a hot dog and a donut with
noodles inside before a cloud moves in.

Parappa (V.O.): At first I liked it. But now... I don't even want to look at
it.

Scene fades to black.

EXT. SUNNY'S HOUSE -- DAY

There is a close-up of a door and its knock before the narration continues with
Sunny opening the door with a smile.

Parappa (V.O.): The only thing that gets me going, is the lovely Sunny Funny
and her sweet smile.

She walks back in the house.

Parappa (V.O.): I'll do ANYTHING for her.

Scene fades into...

INT. SUNNY'S HOUSE

There is a close-up of a window before the camera pulls to a picture and then
to Sunny holding a tray of food before coming to a smiling PJ on the table and
serving... more bowls of noodles with sandwiches, chicken, salad and other food
on the table. Parappa is shocked to find more noodles landing on the table
before a bowl of spaghetti and meatballs with marinara sauce is placed next to
him, shocking him more.

Parappa (looking around in disbelief): I know, I gotta, I gotta, NO! I can't
believe!!

PJ and Sunny look at him in disappointment, with a carton of milk next to her.

Sunny: Parappa, I didn't know you were such a baby.

Her words "Such a baby" echo along as the camera moves up closer to her mouth
that still echoes the words, and Parappa is surrounded in stunned blackness
before the scene fades to black and cuts back to Sunny sitting in silence with
her hand on her face near the food on the kitchen table before the camera pulls
away to the picture on the wall before the narration begins again.

Parappa (V.O.): But little did I know, this was the beginning of a long
adventure.

Camera moves toward the window to a view of the outside scenery, with Parappa
and PJ running out of the house into the trees before the scene fades to black.

There is a colorful portal of light that swirls around. Parappa tosses out a
"P" onto the white screen, then zooms out and tosses an "A" onto the screen
again before he moves in close up as the song "Parappa Appearance" is playing.

Parappa: Say "Alright!"

The crowd--Papa Parappa, Boxy Boy, General Potter, Ma-san, PJ, Lammy, Sunny and
Katy--zoom in together.

All: Alright!

They zoom out and Parappa tosses the "RAPPA" onto the screen before zooming in
again.

Parappa: Say "Oh yeah!"

All (zooming in): Oh yeah!

They zoom out again and he tosses the word "THE" onto the screen before zooming
up close to a portal of light again.

Parappa: Whatcha gonna do?

All (zooming in): Whatcha gonna do?

All zoom out again, and this time he tosses the word "RAPPER" onto the screen
before everyone zooms in to join him.

All: I gotta believe!!

Parappa: I gotta believe!!

He finally joins in the crowd of friends as the title screen appears.

*3.2. Stage 1: Beard Burgers, A Parappa Town Tradition!*
********************************************************

~ i. Intro ~

EXT. PARAPPA TOWN -- DAY

There is an aerial view of the town and a far-off view of Parappa and PJ
walking on the sidewalk, and the camera starts moving closer to them.

Parappa (sighs): Ha, I think Sunny hates me now.

PJ (getting cheery): Of course she does. You didn't eat her cooking.

Parappa (looks at him): Yeah, thanks for rubbing it in.

PJ: Oh, um, well, maybe she doesn't hate you that much.

Parappa: Think so??

Scene cuts to him looking depressed.

PJ (O.C.): Yeah, noodles, right?

Scene cuts back to them walking on the street as PJ continues.

PJ: I sure can go for some noodles right now... Yum yum.

There is a Tamanegi walking past them as Parappa gets mad at PJ's comment.

Parappa (waving): No noodles for me. No way!

PJ: OK. Then let's get something else.

Parappa (smiling): Alright!!

They look at some burger restaurant.

PJ: Burgers rule!!

Scene cuts to them near the movie theater with the two punks from the pre-game
intro.

Parappa: Beard Burgers, A Parappa Town Tradition!

They walk up to the burger restaurant that is labeled "Beard Burger" and the
doors open and close as the two enter together.

INT. BEARD BURGER RESTAURANT

Parappa immediately gets up to the counter near some customers seated at
tables.

Parappa: You know what I want. I'll have a traditional Beard Burger.

PJ (shoves him next to the counter): Me too, and I want 10 of 'em.

Camera cuts to... a tray of ten noodles on buns with lettuce and tomatoes put
on the counter by a young Beard Burger Manager. Parappa and PJ are in shock.

Parappa (raising his fist): NOODLES AGAIN!!?? What happened to the traditional
burgers!?

He jumps up in anger, and the scene cuts to the two of them and the manager
next to some poster of an old master that bears some resemblance to the manager
somehow.

??????: We're terribly sorry. For some reason, all our burgers turned into
noodles. It's really not that bad, though. You should try it.

Parappa (angry): That's not the point. I want a hamburger!

PJ nods, and the manager puts his elbow on the counter in disappointment.

??????: I see, well... Sorry, but we don't have any right now.

Camera moves to three other managers, a snail, a turtle, and a golem, near some
grinding machine.

Manager #1 (snail): If only our President were alive.

Manager #2 (turtle): Yeah, we can't have no baby running the store.

The words "Baby running the store" echo along as the camera moves up closer to
the second manager's mouth that still echoes the words, and the scene fades
to...

INT. SUNNY'S HOUSE: LIVING ROOM

There is a close-up of Sunny Funny still repeating "You were such a baby" as
the camera pulls away as she finishes with the word "baby" in a dream sequence.

Parappa (covers his mouth): BABY!?!?

He raises his arms in shock and the scene cuts to Sunny with Joe Chin,
Parappa's rival.

Sunny: OK, I'm having a date with a REAL man.

Scene cuts to Parappa again as she speaks.

Sunny (O.C.): You babies can stay home and play with your toys.

Camera pulls up to reveal three baby rabbits from "Um Jammer Lammy" crawling up
to him, and another baby is tossed into his hand.

Baby: Let's play! Pawappa!!

The babies are pounding upon him lying on the ground and keep asking him to
play with them, and then he emerges, dressed up in a bunny hood before the
scene cuts back to...

INT. BEARD BURGER RESTAURANT

Parappa is still in anxiety next to PJ, when suddenly the poster sparkles, and
the old man, revealed to be "Beard Burger Master", tosses the burger in anger
and floats up from the poster that says "100% BEEF. Beard Burger."

Beard (landing on the floor): Haa, when are you guys going to grow up?? Still
a bunch of babies.

He floats up close to Parappa and PJ as he continues.

Beard: I put my whole life into opening this store, and look what happens the
moment my son takes charge.

While he speaks, he floats up to the manager and reveals him to be Beard's son,
which surprises Parappa and PJ and the manager themselves. Beard then stands
up next to the counter.

Beard: Here, let me show you how to make a real Parappa Town Traditional
Burger.

He then floats over Parappa and PJ as he speaks.

Beard: Watch, listen, learn and play EXACTLY as I do.

He looks at Parappa and floats away.

Parappa: Really??

He soon gets an idea as a light bulb flashes and he moves quickly in close-up.

Parappa: Yeah, I know, I gotta believe!!!

He jumps in excitement as the circles swirl around him and raises his arms up
in joy, and the rap song "Toasty Buns" begins.

~ ii. Song: Toasty Buns ~

There is a close-up of a twirling fan before the camera pulls over to the salad
maker dancing along with the grill and the drink machine, and moves over to the
customers and other utensils as Beard Burger Master begins the rap.

Beard (O.C.): That's right,
              I'm in the house,
              Here it comes!

Camera pulls over to Beard floating toward the dancing machines as he begins...

LESSON 1

Beard: Extra, extra, read all about it!
The best burgers in town from all around.

The machines jump away to reveal Parappa dancing next to the floating Beard as
he continues.

Beard: People from around the world, come and get it,
the line goes around like a merry go-round.

He turns on the salad shooter and the salad maker, and Parappa does the same,
along with heating the grill, the toaster and the patty maker tossing the
burger onto the grill.

       Beard: Cut! (Uh-uh-huh, yes.)
Parappa: Cut! (Beard: Ya gotta, ya gotta...)
       Beard: Heat! (Huh, mmm, very...)
Parappa: Heat! (Beard: Very nicely! And...)
       Beard: Toast! (Uh-huh, mmm.)
Parappa: Toast! (Beard: You gotta, you gotta, you gotta, you gotta...)
Beard: Cook! (You know! Ha ha!)
Parappa: Cook! (Beard: You're good now! C'mon, and...)

The scenario repeats with the salad shooter and salad maker, the grill, the
toaster, and the patty maker.

       Beard: Cut! (Mmm...)
Parappa: Cut! (Beard: Very nice. Ya gotta...)
       Beard: Heat!
Parappa: Heat! (Beard: Ta, ta, ta, ta...)
       Beard: Toast! (Ha ha, yes!)
Parappa: Toast! (Beard: Very nice! And now...)
       Beard: Cook!
     Parappa: Cook! (Beard: Yes, right!)

Beard starts dancing with the machines and Parappa again.

LESSON 2

Beard: Burgers to fries, a shake or a friend,
if you're hungry simply line up at the end.
              Come on, people, gather 'round,
we got everything you want from all around.

Beard goes to the salad shooter and the salad maker, and Parappa repeats along
with the whole scenario.

       Beard: Cut the lettuce.
Parappa: Cut the lettuce. (Beard: You got to...)
       Beard: Heat the grill. (Mmmph!)
Parappa: Heat the grill. (Beard: Yeah, don't stop.)
Beard: Toast the buns. (My buns are very toasty.)
Parappa: Toast the buns. (Beard: Uh-huh, mmm, yeah...)
       Beard: Cook the patties.
Parappa: Cook the patties. (Beard: Serve, serve, serve...)

This time Beard floats to the drink maker, and Parappa follows, along with the
grill.

Beard: Serve the drinks. (Serve 'em!)
Parappa: Serve the drinks. (Beard: C'mon, hurry up! And...)
       Beard: Melt the cheese. (OW!)
Parappa: Melt the cheese. (Beard: Mmph! Heh heh heh...)

Beard and Parappa are now at the frying machine.

Beard: French the fries. (French them.)
     Parappa: French the fries.

[NOTE: For some odd reason, in the U.S. game version, Beard says "French them"
before Parappa raps "French the fries," but in the soundtrack version Beard
says "French them" *after* Parappa's "French the fries." Beats me. :P]

This time Beard holds the broom, and Parappa has a broom too.

       Beard: Sweep the floor.
     Parappa: Sweep the floors.

Machines dance some more before they pull away to reveal Beard and Parappa
again.

LESSON 3

Beard: The ketchup, the mustard, the salt and the pepper,
pour it on right 'cause we got no extra. [the lyric says "extras"
              but the voice says "extra"]
Yo, watch the grill, control the flame, guys,
follow the rules, stay productive and wise.

Parappa now has a spatula along with Beard.

       Beard: And cook those burgers.
Parappa: Cook those burgers. (Beard: Mmm...)
       Beard: Turn the patty over.
Parappa: Turn the patty over. (Beard: C'mon and...)

They move on to the frying machine...

Beard: Watch them fries. (I'm not kidding.)
     Parappa: Watch them fries.

...and then to the dancing machines.

       Beard: Better execute sooner.
Parappa: Better execute sooner. (Beard: Awwwwwwwwwwwwww!)

They move to the grill again, this time with ketchup and mustard bottles in
their hands.

       Beard: Bring on the ketchup.
     Parappa: Bring on the ketchup.
       Beard: Don't forget the cheese.
     Parappa: Don't forget the cheese.
       Beard: Bring on the mustard.
     Parappa: Bring on the mustard.
       Beard: Handle it with ease.
     Parappa: Handle it with ease.

LESSON 4

Beard: Burgers, burgers is all we have in mind,
we cook the best! [You better get in line./Taste better than
              wine.]
Now put it on a tray! Is it for here or to go?
Any which way, it tastes good, you know.

Beard goes for one more round with the patty machine and Parappa on the grill.

Beard: Cook those burgers, turn the patty over.
Parappa: Cook those burgers, turn the patty over. (Beard: Mmm, yeah, come
              on and...)

They are now between the salad shooter, the salad maker and the grill...

Beard: Cut the lettuce, don't forget the cheese.
Parappa: Cut the lettuce, don't forget the cheese. (Beard: Ha! Mmm,
              then...)

...then to the toaster and the frying machine...

Beard: Toast the buns, french the fries.
Parappa: Toast the buns, french the fries. (Beard: Yeah, c'mon, yeah!)

...and finally, with the ketchup bottles and the brooms.

Beard: Bring on the ketchup, sweep the floors.
Parappa: Bring on the ketchup, sweep the floors.

The crowd cheers on Beard and Parappa as the rap ends.

Beard: Yeah, yeah, now that's what I'm talking about. Now go serve those
burgers right now.

While he speaks, he points to Parappa, who is holding the burgers near the
customers and PJ.

Parappa: Alright! I'm off to a good start!

He makes a smile on his face as the scene ends.

*3.3. Stage 2: Strictly for Adults*
***********************************

~ i. Intro ~

EXT. BEARD BURGER RESTAURANT -- DAY

A Joe Chin truck is passing by the restaurant as the scene cuts to Parappa, PJ,
Beard Burger Master's son and the other Beard Burger managers among the crowd,
in the news camera's point of view. While the son gives Parappa and PJ ice
cream cones, a news reporter is giving a flash.

Reporter: This is where the phenomenon known as "Noodlization" is taking place.
All the food being served in this town is turning into noodles.

As Parappa and PJ start to eat the ice cream near the movie theater with the
marquee "Jet Baby: The Movie" as the cameraman is recording next to Joe Chin,
noodles emerge from the ice cream cones, and both of the heroes are freaked
out.

Parappa: Woh!

PJ: Hey! I can't eat this!

The two punks run out of the theater while Parappa is speaking.

Parappa: We have to stop this noodling thing.

PJ: Maybe your Dad can help us. He's an inventor, right?

Parappa: Yeah. I think he used to study noodles too.

He hands the noodle cone to PJ.

PJ: Well, let's go then!

Scene cuts to the news camera's point of view as the two barge through the
reporter.

INT. PARAPPA'S HOUSE: LIVING ROOM

There is a close-up of the TV screen showing Parappa and PJ passing through the
reporter as Beard's son walks away with a sinister look in his eyes.

Reporter: This was Rodney Greenblat, reporting live from Beard Burgers [sic] in
Parappa Town.

As Beard's son and the managers wave goodbye along with Reporter Greenblat, a
scene of "Rodney World News" is shown on the TV screen as the camera pulls away
from the TV to reveal chairs and a table, with a TV antenna and a flower vase
on top of the TV. A certain man stands watching this fiasco on TV.

?????? (O.C.): It looks like the Noodle Syndicate is finally taking action.

As his voice speaks, the camera pulls up to reveal... Sunny Funny's father,
General Potter, smoking a pipe and looking worried.

Potter: Our lives will be in danger if we don't do something quick.

He turns around to Papa Parappa working on a device.

Papa Parappa: Ya huh. Especially sweets, your favorite.

Potter: Any which way, we've got to [the subtitle error says "we gotta"] think
of something.

Papa Parappa (completing the device): Not to worry. Look at this!

Scene cuts to the finished device in a ray of light for a few seconds before
cutting back to the living room.

Papa Parappa: This will de-noodlize everything!

Potter (looks at the device): Oh! The former straight A student saves the day!
So what is it?

Papa Parappa: Well, push that green button on the TV remote control.

They walk to the table together.

Potter: The TV?

Papa Parappa: Yeah, it's the same one.

Potter (angry): Why'd you do that?

Papa Parappa: I thought it'd be convenient.

Potter grabs the remote control and gets a facepalm.

Papa Parappa: Just push that green button, will ya?

Potter straightens up.

Potter (O.C.): OK. Here goes!

He presses the light green button but nothing happens.

Papa Parappa (O.C.): No, not that one! The greener button!

Potter (O.C., realizing): Oh, this.

He presses the dark green button, and at once a blue machine gets all smoky
before a dome opens up to reveal a meowing cat. Potter gets all puzzled about
this.

Papa Parappa: That's the cat wash! Green but square button!

Potter looks around for the other square green button and gets annoyed.

Potter: This?? It better be it!

Papa Parappa: Yeah, that's it.

Scene cuts to the device on the table in Potter's point of view.

Potter (O.C.): Here goes!

As he presses the button with a beep, the de-noodlizer device shoots out a
laser in their way, and suddenly they get shrunk down to size as the remote is
knocked off of Potter's hands. They have now become like ants.

Potter: Now what in the world happened here?

Papa Parappa: Oh, almost!!

Scene cuts to the giant carpet with Papa Parappa far away from Potter.

Potter: Almost what!?

Papa Parappa (showing him the noodle cup): The noodles are almost perfect!

Potter bows down his head in disappointment.

Potter: That doesn't mean anything! What happened to us!?

Both fathers soon realize that they are tinier than the computer chair and desk
and a shelf.

Papa Parappa: Ooops... I cut a few corners, but I didn't think we'd shrink!

While he speaks, Potter runs up to him looking all angry.

Potter: This is NO JOKE!

Papa Parappa: Don't worry. We just have to push the green button again. [the
subtitle says "that" but the voice says "the"]

Scene cuts to the chair and desk again with the de-noodlizer on it.

Potter (O.C.): So where's the remote control??

Papa Parappa (in shock along with Potter): AI yai yai yai yai...

Scene cuts to the door opening, and Parappa and PJ walk in clueless to find the
room empty.

Parappa: Where's Dad??

They look around.

PJ: Well, let's wait for him.

Scene cuts to Parappa from ground level as he makes a step that looks like it
makes the living room shake, and he runs around in slow motion, shaking the
ground again, and Papa Parappa and Potter are glad to see him.

Papa Parappa and Potter: Hey, Parappa!! Push that dark green but square
button!!

Parappa grabs the remote control from the chair but doesn't have a clue what to
do. He walks to the chairs near the TV, and the two fathers are suddenly
shocked that he can't seem to hear them, and they try to chase him. Meanwhile,
PJ notices the TV still on as Parappa walks up to him.

PJ (looks at Parappa): Hey, this is a good show. It makes you feel like you
lost 40 lbs. in a week.

While he speaks, the channel shows silhouettes of ninjas and the word
"Romantic" on the TV screen, and Parappa looks at it.

PJ: All muscles too!

Parappa: Hmmmmm... maybe.

PJ (acting muscle-bound): Let's try it!

Parappa: OK!

He tosses the remote onto the chair, and walks up to it in ground-shaking slow
motion again. Scene cuts to the TV screen showing silhouettes of girls with
the title "Romantic Karate" on it.

???????? (V.O.): Welcome to another episode of Romantic Karate.

Camera pulls away to reveal Parappa and PJ watching the show together, with a
silhouette of a familiar onion-headed man making karate moves and pointing a
scolding finger at the camera.

???????? (V.O.): Stare eye to eye, as we poke each other's eyeballs out. Put
the kiddies to bed, because this is strictly for adults.

As they watch, the words "For adults" echo in Parappa's head, and colors swirl
around Parappa along with a teddy bear and a ball of yarn as he closes his eyes
and the scene fades into a dream sequence of Parappa in the same living room,
with PJ, Sunny, Katy Kat, Lammy and Ma-san watching TV together along with Joe
Chin, who stands next to Sunny. Scene cuts to the TV that shows an episode
labeled "Danger Tick", and then to a scene of the tick walking around and
playing dead on the screen, and everyone laughs except Parappa, who looks at
them all funny before they stop laughing. Scene cuts to the TV screen of the
same tick again that tries to get up but falls down, and everyone except
Parappa laughs again.

Joe: This is great fun!

Sunny: Yeah, definitely not for kids.

They smile at each other, and Parappa feels all left out like a coward but
tries to laugh.

Parappa: Ha ha... I get it.

Scene fades back to normal sequence with Parappa feeling left out while PJ is
watching, then he is surprised to see a familiar face in the Fruites Dojo on
the TV screen wearing a red sports jacket and calming the camera.

???????? (V.O.): Young children, relax. It's OK.

He is revealed onscreen to be... "Chop Chop Master Onion", the onion-headed
sensei from "Parappa 1" and "Um Jammer Lammy".

Chop Chop (V.O.): If you learn the brand new Romantic Karate, invented by me...

The scene is revealed to be...

INT. ROMANTIC KARATE GAME SHOW

There is a Tamanegi Woman wearing headphones and dancing around as Chop Chop
continues.

Chop Chop (V.O.): You will soon enter the world of adults.

Scene cuts to him dancing to the beat from ground level and smiling.

Chop Chop (V.O.): Here, there are no rules.

Scene cuts to Parappa and PJ watching TV in the living room, the former in awe,
as Chop Chop's voice continues.

Chop Chop (V.O.): Just punch and kick at will.

Chop Chop makes moves and takes a bow next to the woman, before bowing up and
smiling.

Chop Chop (V.O.): Let's try.

INT. PARAPPA'S HOUSE: LIVING ROOM

As Parappa and PJ still watch, the former suddenly gets an idea as a light bulb
flashes and he moves quickly in close-up.

Parappa: Yeah, I know, I gotta believe!!!

He jumps in excitement as the circles swirl around him and raises his arms up
in joy, and the rap song "Romantic Love" begins.

~ ii. Song: Romantic Love ~

Parappa and PJ are getting hypnotized and fold their armsin the living room as
Chop Chop Master Onion starts the rap.

               Chop Chop (O.C.): Yes...
It is time to get romantic.
                                 (Ha ha...)

There is a picture of Parappa's mom on the wall between the door and the TV.
The two heroes mimic Chop Chop's "HiyyyyyyatatatatttCHHHHHAAAAHHH!!!" as he
starts dancing to...

LESSON 1

Chop Chop: Time to get romantic, yes indeed, that's for
                                 sure.
Da kick punch style remains very secure.

They dance along with him.

Chop Chop (O.C.): Never pending, always the first, to make a
                                 move.
This, time, we get, down nice and smooth.
                                 (Ha ha, ha ha...)

They stop with a smooth arm flow, and the scene alternates between the TV
screen of Chop Chop and a Tamanegi woman; and Parappa and PJ together as they
mimic each other's activity.

                      Chop Chop: Love kick.
                        Parappa: Love kick.
                      Chop Chop: Love punch.
                        Parappa: Love punch.
                      Chop Chop: Love duck.
                        Parappa: Love duck.
                      Chop Chop: Love turn.
Parappa: Love turn. (Chop Chop: Ha ha, ha!)
                      Chop Chop: Love chop.
                        Parappa: Love chop.
                      Chop Chop: Love twist.
                        Parappa: Love twist.
                      Chop Chop: Love pose.
                        Parappa: Love pose.
                      Chop Chop: Love hug.
                        Parappa: Love hug.
                      Chop Chop: Smooth kick.
                        Parappa: Smooth kick.
                      Chop Chop: Nice punch.
                        Parappa: Nice punch.
                      Chop Chop: Sweet chop.
                        Parappa: Sweet chop.
                      Chop Chop: Love fight.
                        Parappa: Love fight.

They all dance between the living room and the TV screen together.

LESSON 2

Chop Chop: Because I'm smooth, with a groove so new,
I wish everybody had the same point of view.
Meet me at the corner, pick you up at 7.
Wear your best dress and I'll take you to
                                 heaven.
                                 (Yes, yes, hai!)

Parappa and PJ start to mimic the activities of Chop Chop and the woman in a
wacky hetero-/homosexual twist. [O_O]

                      Chop Chop: Hold hands.
                        Parappa: Hold hands.
                      Chop Chop: Face to face.
                        Parappa: Face to face.
                      Chop Chop: Get romantic.
                        Parappa: Get romantic.
Chop Chop: Let's get it on.
                        Parappa: Let's get it on.
                      Chop Chop: Love style.
                        Parappa: Love style.
                      Chop Chop: You and me.
                        Parappa: You and me.
                      Chop Chop: Together forever.
                        Parappa: Together forever.
                      Chop Chop: Never to part.
                        Parappa: Never to part.
Chop Chop: Look up in the sky.
Parappa: Look up in the sky.
                      Chop Chop: See the stars?
                        Parappa: See the stars?
Chop Chop (embracing the woman): I hold you tight.
Parappa (embracing PJ): I hold you tight.
                      Chop Chop: Lovers we are.
                        Parappa: Lovers we are.

LESSON 3

Chop Chop: I'm da sensei, you are my students,
But before that, you and I are friends.

While Parappa and PJ dance, scene cuts to ground level as Parappa's foot stomps
the ground, making it shake and scaring Papa Parappa and General Potter away.

Chop Chop (O.C.): We lean on each other, any way we can,
We all need love, no matter woman or a man.
                                 (Ha ha...)

Scene cuts to the TV screen of Chop Chop and the woman again as he closes his
eyes and moves his eyebrows before the camera alternates between them, Parappa
and PJ once more as they start mimicking each other's activities.

                      Chop Chop: Smooth like butter.
                        Parappa: Smooth like butter.
                      Chop Chop: Caress your lover.
                        Parappa: Caress your lover.
                      Chop Chop: Enjoy the moment.
                        Parappa: Enjoy the moment.
                      Chop Chop: Won't last forever.
                        Parappa: Won't last forever.

This time the camera moves farther from the TV and in a circle around the duo
while they dance.

                      Chop Chop: Love punching.
                        Parappa: Love punching.
                      Chop Chop: Soft chopping.
                        Parappa: Soft chopping.
                      Chop Chop: Sweet kicking.
                        Parappa: Sweet kicking.
Chop Chop: It's all about the mind.
Parappa: It's all about the mind.

Scene alternates between the TV and the living room once more.

                      Chop Chop: Tamanegi flava.
                        Parappa: Tamanegi flava.
Chop Chop: Wish I was a playa.
Parappa: Wish I was a playa.
Chop Chop: I'm a tax payer.
                        Parappa: I'm a tax payer.
Chop Chop: Need a good lawyer.
                        Parappa: Need a good lawyer.

LESSON 4

Chop Chop raises his arms in dancing to the beat once more before the scene
cuts to the living room again.

Chop Chop: And so it goes, yes, this is the final
                                 chapter,
                                 I hope that
                                 all your questions were answered,
                                 'Cause I'm majestic, now romantic,
I know love, love is the key to save our own
planet. [The lyric says "love will be" but the
                                 voice says "love, love is".]

Scene cuts back to the TV screen once more, with an aerial view of Chop Chop
and the woman dancing.

Chop Chop: Monday, Tuesday, Wednesday, or Thursday,
24/7, each and every single day.
This is how we do, the last lesson,
                                 L O V E, your brand new prescription.
                                 (Ha ha...)

Scene cuts to the ground level, as Papa Parappa and Potter are waving their
hands trying to figure out what to do, before it once more alternates between
the TV and the living room with Chop Chop, the woman, Parappa and PJ mimicking
each other's moves.

Chop Chop: Kick, kick, punch, jump, pose.
Parappa: Kick, kick, punch, jump, pose.

Chop Chop and the woman next hold out bouquets of roses.

Chop Chop: Smooth chop, love, with rose. [lyric error
an "a" between "with" and "rose"]
Parappa: Smooth chop, love, with rose.

PJ suddenly holds out the plate of the roast while Parappa raps and holds out
the rose bouquet.

Chop Chop: Duck, twist, twist, turn, punch.
Parappa: Duck, twist, twist, turn, punch.

In a wacky twist, Chop Chop embraces and kisses the woman, and Parappa does the
same with PJ, albeit in a homosexual way. [O_O X_X]

Chop Chop: Hug, kiss, love then chop.
Parappa: Hug, kiss, love then chop.

PJ gets freaked out at getting kissed by a rapping Parappa and faints before
the scene alternates once more to the final moves.

Chop Chop: Ta, ma, negi sensei.
                        Parappa: Ta, ma, negi sensei.
Chop Chop: Here, he, comes, so make way!
Parappa: Here, he, comes, so make way!

The rap finishes with Parappa, PJ and the woman mimicking Chop Chop's
"HiyyyyyyatatatatttCHHHHHAAAAHHH!!!", and the audience claps as Chop Chop bows
down on the TV screen.

Chop Chop: Very smooth! Very very romantic! I love you.

He waves his hand to the camera.

Chop Chop: See you next time.

Scene cuts to the living room with Parappa waving at him next to PJ.

Parappa: Much love to you too, Sensei!

PJ is still panting in shock next to a smiling Parappa as the scene ends.

*3.4. Stage 3: HEY! Grab That Remote Control!!*
************************************************

~ i. Intro ~

INT. PARAPPA'S HOUSE: LIVING ROOM

The episode of "Romantic Karate" has just ended with the words "See You Next
Week" on the TV screen, and the camera moves to Parappa and PJ dancing around
near the table and couches before walking toward them.

PJ: Phew! I'm beat!

Parappa (sits on the couch): Me too. Hey, where is everybody?

PJ sits on the other couch.

PJ: Maybe they went to get something to eat.

Scene cuts to them near the couches with the remote control when the voices of
both fathers call out.

Papa Parappa and Potter (O.C.): Hey, Parappa!!

Camera moves down to the tiny Papa Parappa and General Potter, who waves his
arms as they continue.

Papa Parappa: Push that button on that remote control!

Scene cuts to PJ reaching for the remote control on Parappa's couch and
grabbing it.

Papa Parappa (O.C.): That's it, that's it..... easy now, easy......

Potter and Papa Parappa return to the scene where they were shrunk, and the
scene cuts to Parappa and PJ again.

PJ (with the remote control): I hope something good is on.

He presses the square green button, and at once the de-noodlizer shoots out a
ray that has both fathers return to normal size, but then...

Parappa (takes the remote control from PJ): I don't wanna watch this.

Papa Parappa and Potter (while Parappa speaks): Good job!

But Parappa can't seem to hear them and presses the button again, and the de-
noodlizer shrinks both fathers down to size again behind Parappa and PJ. The
Joe Chin show comes on, and PJ looks behind the chair before he reaches for the
remote again.

PJ: NO! I wanna watch this!

He presses the button again, and while the device returns both fathers to
normal size again...

Parappa (grabs the remote): Oh, come on, we gotta watch this!

Papa Parappa and Potter (while Parappa speaks again): Good job!

The device immediately shrinks both fathers again on Parappa's button press,
but PJ looks behind again, gets off the couch and looks around at the area
behind him.

PJ: Hmm, [subtitle error says "um"] are there any ghosts in this house?

Parappa gets off his couch and joins him.

Parappa: Not that I know of.

While they look around, Parappa accidentally presses the square green button,
and they see a ray shooting from the device at them and scream while the remote
is knocked off of Parappa's hands before they are shrunk down to size and fall
down towards the floor near Papa Parappa and Potter in the same size. They get
up off the floor to see both fathers waiting for them.

Parappa: A, hi there.

Papa Parappa (angry): We've been calling you all this time!

Parappa realizes this as both fathers approach.

Parappa: How were we supposed to know that the remote controls were the same!?

They all suddenly hear a knock at the door and turn around to see the door
open, and in walk Katy Kat, Lammy, and Ma-san of MILKCAN before they shut the
door.

Katy (looking around): Is Parappa home? Something funny is going around town.

Scene cuts to ground level as Ma-san looks around near them, and they walk in
ground-shaking slow motion, up close to the tiny foursome, who run away from
them in fright.

Papa Parappa and Potter: Whoa!

Parappa: Whoa! Hey! Aaah!

They scream as they are being chased by the giant Ma-san. Scene cuts back to
MILKCAN looking around at the couches.

Lammy: Hmm... Nobody's home.

Scene cuts back to the tiny foursome under one of the couches.

All Four: HEY! Grab that remote control!!

Scene cuts back to MILKCAN.

Katy (grabs the remote control on the couch): Oh well, let's wait.

As she presses the button, the device shoots the ray, and now both Lammy and
Katy see the ray coming at them and scream as they are hit, and the remote is
once again knocked off of Kety's hands before they are shrunk down to size
again. They shake themselves off and now see the tiny foursome farther from
them in surprise.

Lammy and Katy: What in the world are you guys doing down here??

Parappa, PJ, Papa Parappa and Potter approach them, very glad to see them, and
Parappa shrugs his shoulders. Scene cuts to a hand knocking on the front door
before cutting back, and the shrunken six turn around in fright as the door
opens, and in walks...

Package Delivery Guy: Hello, package delivery!

Ma-san grabs the remote on her couch and presses the button, and the device's
ray shrinks the package delivery guy down to size.

Package Delivery Guy (looks around): Hm, aaa, I need your signature right here.

While he speaks, he walks to avoid a falling pizza box behind him, which is
dropped by an approaching pizza delivery guy who knocks at the door.

Pizza Delivery Guy: Pizza delivery!

While he calls out, she presses the remote control button, and the device
shrinks him down too; he is then followed by another knock at the door.

Cleaner Girl: Cleaning service!

Ma-san presses the remote button again and shrinks her down too before she is
followed by...

Visitor from Space: Visitor from space.

Ma-san presses the remote button again and shrinks the alien down before in
follows...

Bunny Woman: Just walking by.

Ma-san presses the remote button again, getting impatient, and shrinks her down
too, followed by a few more people, who are all shrunk down one by one upon
arrival.

Man: Hello!

Teenager Boy: Anybody home?

Shrimp: Ebi-san.

Japanese Girl: Konnichiwa!

Rapper Girl: What's up?

While they are all shrunk down, scene cuts to Parappa and his shrunk friends
once again.

Parappa: Come on, Dad, hurry, I wanna grow big again!

They suddenly turn around at something watching them as the scene cuts to an
aerial view of the shrunken party, then to a view of an ant on the window.

???????: Small and worthless... that's what you guys are...

Scene cuts to the ant, revealed onscreen to be "Guru Ant", as he continues.

Guru Ant: You keep shouting you wanna grow big, you wanna grow big.

Scene cuts back to an aerial view of the party once more before cutting to Guru
Ant as he continues.

Guru Ant: Do you really understand the meaning of big??

He jumps off the window onto the carpet, and Parappa can't seem to believe his
eyes as Guru Ant flutters down onto the floor to the awe of everyone.

Katy: Who's that?

Parappa (whispers): Don't know, but he'll probably help us get big.

Scene cuts to Guru Ant standing in front of them with his eyes closed before he
speaks again.

Guru Ant: You see, you are very small. Your very existence is tiny...

The word "tiny" echoes in Parappa's head, and colors swirl around Parappa along
with a teddy bear and a ball of yarn as he closes his eyes and the scene fades
into...

EXT. PARAPPA TOWN: VALLEY -- DAY

There is a bridge on the stream in a dream sequence as the camera moves to
Sunny standing alone on the bridge.

Sunny (looks around): Ha...... Where's Parappa??? I hope he likes this new
shirt that I got him... It might be a little [bit] too big for him but...

As she speaks, the camera moves down to a shrunk Parappa calling out for her.

Parappa (jumps near her): Sunny!! Hey, Sunny!!

Scene cuts to Sunny from ground view.

Sunny: I can't believe he didn't show up!

As she walks, her foot shakes the ground around him, and she tosses the shirt
onto the bridge, landing on top of him.

Parappa (from under the shirt): Su, Sunny.

He crawls out of the shirt and smiles.

Parappa: I like this shirt... It's perfect!!

Scene fades back to...

INT. PARAPPA'S HOUSE: LIVING ROOM

Parappa feels left out by his thought with an entire shrunken party of friends
and families behind him, with the scene now in normal sequence. He looks
around as Guru Ant continues his philosophy.

Guru Ant: ...but to become big, you can't just follow the rules. You must
create your own groove.

Camera cuts to the shrunken gang and back as he continues.

Guru Ant: Groove on, because that's the only way to grow.

As he finishes, he emanates the magic from his hands, and Parappa soon gets an
idea as a light bulb flashes and he moves quickly in close-up.

Parappa: Yeah, I know. I gotta believe!!!

He jumps in excitement as the circles swirl around him and raises his arms up
in joy, and the rap song "BIG" begins.

~ ii. Song: BIG ~

There is a scene of Ma-san sitting on the couch with the remote control in hand
as she scratches her head. As she moves her eyebrows, they make a disc-
scratching sound as the rap starts. Camera moves down to the shrunken gang in
close-up, and then in aerial view as Guru Ant starts his rap.

       Guru Ant: Yeah...
                 You wanna be big? ...
                 You wanna grow big...

LESSON 1

Guru Ant: Revolutions all the time,
people changing the world with crime,
with violence, and anger, hunger, whatever.

He and Parappa sway their arms to the beat as he continues.

Guru Ant: I find that ridiculous, if not meticulous.
I do my best to guard my own premises.

What's your name, what's your name, fool?
Parappa: What's my name, what's my name, fool?
Guru Ant: What's that sound? Who dat be, huh?
Parappa: What's that sound? Who dat be, huh?

While Guru Ant starts the next lyric, scene cuts to the visitor from space
before cutting to Parappa.

Guru Ant: Where you come from, where you come from?
Parappa: Where I come from, where I come from?
Guru Ant: You think you're big? You think you're big, kid??
Parappa: I think I'm big? I think I'm big, kid??

Scene cuts to a view of the gang before cutting back while the duo rap.

Guru Ant (O.C.): Is your desire, to grow back again?
Parappa: Is my desire, to grow back again?
Guru Ant: You came to the right place, I'll make you big.
Parappa: I came to the right place, you'll make me big.

As they rap, scene goes to a split-screen between the top and the bottom, the
latter showing Ma-san pressing the square green button on the remote,
manipulated by Guru Ant's magic as he shouts...

       Guru Ant: Now!

At his "Now!" in normal screen, the device shoots a ray that has Parappa and
Guru Ant find themselves growing up in shock...

LESSON 2

...and they continue growing bigger behind Ma-san at the couch while Guru Ant
raps in fright.

Guru Ant: What's this, what's this, what's this?
                 A trick with a twist.
Somebody do something, call somebody and make it quick.

As he continues, he and Parappa grow to giant size, opening the roof of
Parappa's house, growing up taller and taller through the clouds.

Guru Ant: I'm sorry, I lied, just wanted,
to guide everybody through this and go with the ride.

They have now grown taller than the entire planet through the galaxy with both
of them on top of it, complete with alien spaceships as the rap continues.

Guru Ant: Pull the lever or whatever, right now, right now.
Parappa: Pull the lever or whatever, right now, right now.
Guru Ant: Better make it quick, hey, hey, look down.
Parappa: Better make it quick, hey, hey, look down.
Guru Ant: Get me out of this and now push the button.
Parappa: Get you out of this and now push the button.
Guru Ant: Come on, come on, I'm big all of a sudden.
Parappa: Come on, come on, you're big all of a sudden.

While they rap, camera moves down through the clouds as Parappa moves his legs
to his rap, with Captain Fussenpepper's plane flying through their literally
(!) tall legs, back to Parappa's living room with Ma-san behind them.

Guru Ant (O.C.): What's going on, what's going on, I'm really scared.
Parappa (O.C.): What's going on, what's going on, you're really scared.

As they move their legs to their rap, camera moves back up from Parappa's
house, following the path of their literally tall legs through the clouds with
the plane and back to the galaxy.

Guru Ant: SOS, SOS, please handle me with care.
Parappa: SOS, SOS, please handle you with care.

As they rap, scene goes again to a split-screen between the top and the bottom,
the latter showing Ma-san pressing the square green button on the remote,
manipulated by Guru Ant's magic again as he shouts...

       Guru Ant: Now!

At his "Now!" the device's ray hits their literally tall legs in normal screen,
and both Parappa and Guru Ant are now starting to shrink down, away from the
galaxy, through the clouds...

LESSON 3

...and down through Parappa's house as the roof closes below them as Guru Ant
begins calming down as he raps.

Guru Ant: Kick it, stick it, lift it, pick it.
You'll never see me scared. I'm straight up legit.

They have now gone back down to their tiny-sized selves in the same size as
the shrunken gang as Guru Ant continues.

Guru Ant: Always in control, I patrol my hood.
Taking care of business, stopping crime for good.

                 I wasn't scared, you must've been dreaming.
Parappa: You weren't scared, I must've been dreaming.

Scene cuts to PJ sleeping on one of the bolts while the duo rap, and Guru Ant
is now on top of the nail as he continues.

Guru Ant: Better believe it, my mind is like a demon.
Parappa: Better believe it, your mind is like a demon.
Guru Ant: I am the [man/lord], everybody knows my name.
Parappa: You are the [man/lord], everybody knows your name.

The pizza delivery guy is near Parappa while he follows the raps of Guru Ant,
who jumps off the nail and holds up a giant gold coin, and Parappa holds up the
silver coin as he follows.

Guru Ant: I got it all, cash, money and fame.
Parappa: You got it all, cash, money and fame.

Both toss out the coins as the rap continues.

Guru Ant: Now back to business, you want to grow big, right?
Parappa: Now back to business, I want to grow big, right?
Guru Ant: Let's not waste no time, here we go, aight? [the lyric says
"alright", but the voice says "aight"]
Parappa: Let's not waste no time, here we go, aight?

As they rap, scene goes again to a split-screen between the top and the bottom,
the latter showing Ma-san pressing the square green button on the remote,
manipulated by Guru Ant's magic again as he shouts...

       Guru Ant: Now!

At his "Now!" the device's ray hits the duo in normal screen again...

LESSON 4

...and they now grow up to gigantic size in shock behind Ma-san.

Guru Ant: Ho ho, yeah, you see?
I am the only micro masta that guarantees and sees...

As he continues, they open up the roof of Parappa's house again, with their
legs growing up taller through the clouds...

Guru Ant: The final plot coming, no denying, so beware.
But let me tell you, son,
                 I'm scared.

...and up taller than the entire planet through the galaxy with both of them on
top of the planet again.

Guru Ant: It'll never happen again, I promise, I promise.
Parappa: It'll never happen again, you promise, you promise.
Guru Ant: I'll do anything, a hug? A kiss??
Parappa: You'll do anything, a hug? A kiss??

While they rap at the "I'll do anything" part, scene goes once more to a split-
screen between the top and the bottom, with the latter showing Ma-san putting
her elbow on her chair arm, looking bored and holding the remote in her hand.

Guru Ant: I don't know what to do, it's all because of you.
Parappa: You don't know what to do, it's all because of me.

While Guru Ant raps at the "I don't know what to do" part, she starts yawning
and stretching her arms, and the two red arrows point at her head before she
lets down her arms and the arrows fade as Parappa follows.

Guru Ant: I enjoy my size, my charm too.
Parappa: You enjoy your size, your charm too.

Scene returns to normal screen again as they do their final part.

Guru Ant: Put me back, son, come on, I gotta go.
Parappa: Put you back, son, come on, you gotta go.

Scene goes to split-screen once again with Ma-san getting bored and manipulated
once again before she holds up the remote.

Guru Ant: Or I'm gonna miss my favorite TV show.
Parappa: Or you're gonna miss your favorite TV show.

This time, Guru Ant's magic manipulates her remote control button press as he
shouts...

       Guru Ant: Now!

This time, the scene returns to normal screen once again on his "Now!" and the
device's ray hits their literally tall legs before they shrink down and back
through the roof, into Parappa's house, and this time, they are normal-sized
again behind Ma-san. There is a round of applause that sounds out as the rap
finishes.

Guru Ant: Hey, you're pretty mature than I thought. Good going.

Parappa: Ha, thanks. But you're still bigger than your normal size.

As he speaks, the rest of the gang, including Papa Parappa, General Potter,
Lammy, and Katy, have become normal-sized again, and Guru Ant gasps in shock at
his being a bit bigger than his "normal" size.

Guru Ant: You're right! Make me small again!!

Scene pulls away to reveal a normal-sized PJ sitting next to Ma-san on couches
behind the gang before it ends.

*3.5. Stage 4: We'll Turn You Into... a Real Man*
*************************************************

~ i. Intro ~

EXT. NOODLE SYNDICATE HEADQUARTERS -- NIGHT

Dark clouds gather in the nighttime around tall buildings with a pagoda hanging
between them, and a voice sounds from inside before the scene fades into...

INT. NOODLE SYNDICATE HEADQUARTERS

Voice (O.C.): Let me introduce to you, with honor and much respect, our don,
our boss, and our master...

While the voice speaks, camera moves toward a black screen, before moving up to
the top of it with a decorative noodle shield with one eye open at "our don";
scene cuts to a close-up of a flaming torch at "our boss", and then to some
Noodle Syndicate members in noodle afros surrounding a noodlizing machine at
"and our master" before the scene cuts to a view of a group of the Noodle
Syndicate members seated at table near a screen and then to a Noodle Syndicate
member continuing to announce their leader.

Noodle Syndicate Member: ...and the founder of the noodlizer, Colonel
Noodles!!!! [sic] Yeah, give him a hand, c'mon, bring him out, yeah.

As he speaks, the screen turns on, and the members cheer along with him; there
is a foot stepping out in the darkness, and the scene cuts to the members near
the stage screen cheering as the voice of the leader, Colonel Noodle, begins to
speak from a silhouette of himself.

Noodle (O.C.): Thanks to all of you, our first operation, Operation Burgers
Into Noodles, has turned out to be a great success.

As his voice speaks, the screen shows, in a slideshow, the shadowy figure
leaving the Beard Burger Restaurant, followed by a Noodle Syndicate member
holding a noodle gun, then to a grate on the floor, and to the Beard Burger
managers covered in noodles. Scene then cuts to the Noodle Syndicate Member
near a slideshow projector as the voice continues.

Noodle (O.C.): We must take advantage of this outcome, and keep expanding our
operation.

As he speaks, scene cuts to the members at the table before cutting to the
silhouette of Noodle on the screen again.

Noodle (O.C.): Shrimp noodles, chewy thick soup pasta, oriental ramen type
noodles, we must expose this artistic, precious food that mankind has invented.

Scene cuts to the close-up of Noodle's mouth while he speaks before cutting to
the syndicate members near the noodlizer machines, with one of them holding
noodle guns at the left, then cutting to the silhouette on the screen again.

Noodle (O.C.): Now is the time!!

Scene cuts to the syndicate members standing up off their chairs at the table
before cutting to a far-off view of the silhouette as the voice finishes.

Noodle (O.C.): Stand up for what you believe in! Um... In noodles, that is.
Let noodles take over the world!!!!

The syndicate members clap and cheer on their leader, and the scene cuts to
the silhouette waving on the screen once more, which shows General Potter
leading his army recruits on the road, then the syndicate members holding the
noodlizer machines, then to a photographer snapping a picture in a flash of
light, and then to Potter leading the recruits. The photographer takes another
snapshot, this time to a back view of the recruits following Potter. Another
snapshot, and this time it shows the syndicate members outside near the
buildings with the machines in hand; still another snapshot later, and the same
members stand in a group in darkness in spotlights, followed by the same
picture in aerial view, before the scene finally fades into...

EXT. BOOT CAMP -- DAY

There is a row of army recruits standing in a row holding banjos in their hands
as General Potter's voice speaks.

Potter (O.C.): As you may have noticed, some fool is trying to turn every food
in our town into noodles.

As his voice speaks, Parappa and PJ are among the recruits looking bored by
Potter's lecture scene cuts to Potter himself, holding a microphone and looking
worried.

Potter: Noodles!! Now, we must terminate this action and protect the precious,
artistic foods that mankind has produced.

As he speaks, both Parappa and PJ lean and look around before they get jumpy at
his stepping out in front of the recruits.

Potter: Such as, sweet cherry pie, spongy moist cake with frosting,
destructively sweet chocolate brownies, strawberry jam donuts, roasted
marshmallows with caramel, ice cold smoothies, can't forget those colorful
jelly beans, and custard cream pie.

While he speaks again, Parappa and PJ look at each other and snicker before
they get their focus back on Potter again. They then begin to grin again
before they are stopped by his moves, and the scene cuts to an aerial view of
the duo and the recruits again and moving toward the sky before cutting back to
Potter and the recruits again. PJ looks around at him and gives off a smile at
the thought of sweets being mentioned before the scene cuts back to Potter once
more.

Potter: And so, we have assembled this special force to act against and stop
this criminal movement.

Scene cuts to a view of three fighter jets flying above the army recruits from
ground view before cutting back to Parappa and PJ among the recruits again.

Potter (O.C.): The future lies in your hands!

As he finishes, Parappa makes a salute, followed by PJ, and the scene cuts to
Potter raising his arm and making a fist.

Potter: Now, begin the mission!!

He spreads out his arm in a signal, and all of the recruits, except Parappa and
PJ, run out in a march, leaving a dust cloud behind them before the scene cuts
back to the trio. Potter makes a facepalm and bows his head in a sigh of
anxiety.

Potter: If only Papa Parappa can finish that de-noodlizer...

Parappa and PJ start to walk away, but Potter's hands pull them up off the
ground.

Potter (smiles): No, you guys go that way.

Parappa looks around with PJ, and the scene cuts to a view of a training camp
with a sign on top that says...

Parappa (O.C., reading): "Special Armed Forces Training Camp. We'll turn you
into a REAL MAN!"

As the colors swirl around Parappa along with a teddy bear and a ball of yarn,
he closes his eyes and daydreams.

Parappa (V.O.): A real man...

Scene fades into...

EXT. LAUNCH CENTER -- DAY

There is a view of Parappa dressed up as an astronaut as he walks across the
bridge, with a far-off view of Sunny at the bottom, on the building in a dream
sequence.

Sunny: Good luck, Parappa!

Scene cuts to...

INT. ROCKET

A voice sounds from the radio in a rocket's control panel.

Radio (V.O.): Please start the main engines.

Parappa (O.C.): Main engines, main engines...

Scene cuts to Parappa's hand at the control panel buttons, and then to Parappa
looking worried and wondering what to do.

Parappa (O.C.): How about this one?

He presses the green button, and the scene cuts to...

EXT. LAUNCH CENTER -- DAY

The main engines start as the bridges part from the rocket, which bears the
image and shape of Parappa himself from aerial view before cutting back in
ground view as the rocket is bound to lauch in a cloud of smoke. Within a few
seconds, the Parappa rocket is about to lift off... but suddenly explodes into
bits in a self-destructing manner, and the rocket's top flies out of nowhere
before cutting back to Parappa, with glass helmet broken and looking damaged,
but otherwise fine.

Parappa (shocked): Oops. Should've studied.

Scene fades back to...

EXT. BOOT CAMP -- DAY

Scene is now in normal sequence as Parappa and PJ are feeling left out and sad
at the thought while they are still held out by Potter, who takes them away.
There is a scene of a green army boot on the ground, and the camera moves up
to... a young moose wearing an army suit and a pink tutu and socks to go with
it. The moose, "Instructor Moosesha", as she is called onscreen, begins to
speak.

Moosesha (with a bark): Now listen carefully. My name is Moosesha. My family
has traditionally been instructing. My Grandpa, my Grandma, Mom and Dad were
all mean instructors...

Scene cuts to Potter holding a smiling Parappa and PJ before putting them down
onto the ground as she continues.

Moosesha: ...but that doesn't mean I want you to do exactly as I say.

Scene cuts to a view of her, with Parappa far from her as she speaks.

Moosesha: I want you to come up with your own groove.

Scene cuts to the trio again.

Moosesha (O.C.): We're gonna keep going until you do.

Parappa walks to her, and Moosesha motions with her hand.

Moosesha: Come on now.

Scene cuts to the trio, with Potter making a salute, PJ looking worried, and
Parappa soon getting an idea as a light bulb flashes and he moves quickly in
close-up.

Parappa: Yeah. I know, I gotta believe!!!

He jumps in excitement as the circles swirl around him and raises his arms up
in joy, and the rap song "Sista Moosesha" begins.

~ ii. Song: Sista Moosesha ~

There's an aerial view of the Special Armed Forces Training Camp as the camera
moves on before Instructor Moosesha begins the rap.

Moosesha (O.C.): Attention! Attention!
                 Come on, everybody, let's go!

Camera moves to a view of an army coaches giving instructions to their pupils,
with Moosesha in between the former, and Parappa and PJ in front of the latter
as the camera moves around them.

       Moosesha: Hop to it!
One two. Let's go, come on.

LESSON 1

Moosesha: Fancy cars, gold chains, don't mean a thing.
Word to your brain, fame is my game.
Fly the terrains, smooth with no crane.
I come from the streets, no such thing as pain.

Scene cuts to Moosesha and Parappa at a jump rope with the rope jumping
machines.

       Moosesha: Do the jump.
        Parappa: Do the jump.
       Moosesha: Do the flip.
        Parappa: Do the flip.
       Moosesha: Double Dutch.
        Parappa: Double Dutch.
       Moosesha: Don't lose the grip.
        Parappa: Don't lose the grip.

       Moosesha: To the right.
        Parappa: To the right.
       Moosesha: To the left.
        Parappa: To the left.
       Moosesha: Side to side.
        Parappa: Side to side.
       Moosesha: I'm the ref.
        Parappa: I'm the ref.
       Moosesha: Jump the ropes now.
        Parappa: Jump the ropes now.
       Moosesha: Get up high now.
        Parappa: Get up high now.
       Moosesha: To the limit now.
        Parappa: To the limit now.
       Moosesha: Right now.
        Parappa: Right now.

LESSON 2

Scene now cuts to a skating race track with the duo on rollerskates.

Moosesha: Like my sista, my sista said, it's not as easy as you say.
                 Remember that phrase again?
When I say boom boom boom, you say bam bam bam.
No pause in between, come on, let's jam.

                 Kick, kick, kick, kick.
        Parappa: Kick, kick, kick, kick.

They now move to the grinding on the rails.

       Moosesha: Slide, slide, slide.
        Parappa: Slide, slide, slide.
Moosesha: Do it slick, do it, do it slick.
Parappa: Do it slick, do it, do it slick.
       Moosesha: And ride, ride.
        Parappa: And ride, ride.

They now get back on the skating track again.

Moosesha: Lean it to the left.
Parappa: Lean it to the left.
Moosesha: Lean it to the right.
Parappa: Lean it to the right.

They are now skating down a slope, and on the rails.

       Moosesha: Crouch down for speed.
        Parappa: Crouch down for speed.
       Moosesha: Just obey your needs.
        Parappa: Just obey your needs.

They are now riding on bikes and going through bumps and up the slope as
Moosesha continues with...

LESSON 3

Moosesha: Double Dutch, Inline skate or rock climbing.
Don't forget the rhythm, groove and keep rhyming.

They now go up ramps and fly as she continues.

Moosesha: ('Cause) gain is accomplished only through pain,
                 always keep it going
                 and get, wild like Jane!

A referee is on one of the ramps as she continues.

Moosehsa: Up the ramps we go! all the way.
Parappa: Up the ramps we go! all the way.
Moosesha: Come on now, we ain't got all day.
Parappa: Come on now, we ain't got all day.

They continue flying and twisting their front wheels as the rap continues.

Moosesha: On the rails, or just on the trails.
Parappa: On the rails, or just on the trails.
Moosesha: Crave for speed, and let your body go.
Parappa: Crave for speed, and let your body go.
Moosesha: [The] need for speed will keep your body tight.
Parappa: [The] need for speed will keep your body tight.
Moosesha: Remember, never go down without a fight.
Parappa: Remember, never go down without a fight.

They are now mountain-climbing as Moosesha continues with...

LESSON 4

       Moosesha: 1, 2, 1, 2, it's just me and you.
We're gonna give it the best, and the rest is on you.
Enjoy the music and keep up the flow.
The end is near, come on, let's put up a show.

Climb the rock, step by step.
Parappa: Climb the rock, step by step.
Moosesha: Right, left, right, right, left.
Parappa: Right, left, right, right, left.

They are nearing the top of the mountain as she continues.

Moosesha: Phew! I'm tired, let's take a break.
Parappa: Phew! You're tired, please take a break.
Moosesha: Come on, please, for old times' sake?
Parappa: Come on, please, for old times' sake?
Moosesha: I gotta do this, every single day.
Parappa: You gotta do this, every single day.
Moosesha: Tell you the truth, my hair's turning gray.
Parappa: Tell you the truth, your hair's turning gray.

LESSON 5

They are now at the summit of the mountain, with Parappa feeling exhausted from
all the climbing, and PJ has accompanied him as well.

Moosesha: You may be old, bold, and with teeth of gold.
It really really don't matter to me.
If you've come this far, I know you got it down.
Come on, let's do a recap, yes, from the ground [Lyric error
adds "simple" between "a" and "recap"].

There is a lady relaxing with Joe Chin at a spa bath in the summit, before PJ
loses his footing and falls off the summit as the rap is about to conclude.

Moosesha: Where's the ropes? Where did I put it?
Parappa: Where's the ropes? Where did you put it?
Moosesha: I thought you had it, I gave it to you.
Parappa: I thought you had it, I gave it to you.
Moosesha: Oh well, then, why don't you get your skates?
Parappa: Oh well, then, why don't I get my skates?
Moosesha: Where's mine? Can you please wait?
Parappa: Where's yours? Can I please wait?

Both hold out cameras as the rap is onto the final part.

Moosesha: You wanna just forget it? And just take a picture?
Parappa: You wanna just forget it? And just take a picture?
Moosesha: I carry a camera, for all my adventures.
Parappa: You carry a camera, for all your adventures.

The rap has ended, and Moosesha is grateful as there is a clap from the
audience as she holds out her camera.

Moosesha: That was good! Can you please take a picture?

Parappa: Sure!

He takes it, and she makes her pose next to the spa as he makes a snapshot of
her, and the scene ends.

*3.6. Stage 5: You Don't Want Her to Go Through This, Do You??*
***************************************************************

~ i. Intro ~

INT. SPECIAL ARMED FORCES TRAINING CAMP: GYMNASIUM

General Potter is standing in front of Parappa and PJ as the yellow-shirted
punk is lifting a giant barbell and a strongman is doing pushups. They seem to
be on some basketball court.

Potter: Good job, men. But never forget, training and real combat are two
different things. Always keep up your training!

Parappa and PJ (looking bored and saluting): Yes, sir!!

Potter turns around and walks away, and the duo feel exhausted.

Parappa: I hate being stiff.

PJ: Yeah. My brain's stiff now.

He feels dizzy and moves up to the yellow-shirted punk lifting weights, while
still in a dizzying spell and bumps onto the weight lifting table, causing the
punk to drop the barbell, which flies onto the green-shirted punk running on a
treadmill. The barbell knocks the punk and sends him flying onto the barbell
crate and knocking it down, which makes the lamps shake. The punk is then
flown onto the weight-lifting machines, knocking them down and creating a
domino effect, at one time knocking off a trainer in the process. Scene cuts
to Parappa and PJ behind the machines knocked off in a domino effect, before
cutting to an aerial view of another trainer riding on one of the exercise
bikes behind them below a speaker, which blares out with Potter's voice while
the same domino effect knocks the trainer off the falling bikes.

Potter (V.O.): Parappa and PJ, Parappa and PJ, the new members of the squad,
listen up.

The duo turn around to the speaker behind them as Potter's voice continues.

Potter (V.O.): The time has come for the real thing!

Scene cuts to...

INT. SPECIAL FORCES TRAINING CAMP: CONTROL PANEL

Potter continues speaking at the microphone behind a TV screen that shows
static.

Potter: Civilians are held hostage at a hair salon. Get out there immediately
and rescue them!!

Scene cuts to...

INT. SPECIAL FORCES TRAINING CAMP: GYMNASIUM

As Parappa and PJ nod, more weight machines are knocked off in the same domino
effect, knocking off the lockers. Parappa and PJ look in fright and run off
with the trainers, avoiding the falling machines and lockers that soon cause an
earthquake, and bricks and lockers fall off the ceiling, leaving a path of
destruction in a dust cloud. The duo avoid the falling objects in front of
them by jumping over them along with the panicked trainers, and make their way
out of the collapsing gymnasium as it fades away in the dust cloud of
destruction.

EXT. PARAPPA TOWN -- DAY

Parappa and PJ run through the streets safe from the chaos back at the training
camp, and stop in front of the people in noodle afros near a hair salon.

Parappa: Alright!! Check that out! Everyone's head's turning into noodles!

The afros grow bigger and start swallowing up their intended victims.

PJ (O.C.): Wow!! That's a cool afro!!

The afros soon grow up to gigantic size as PJ continues.

PJ: But that afro's growing bigger.

The afros reach a sign that says "Cafe Rodney" with a robot waitress on top of
it; it sees the growing afros approaching and swallowing it up along with the
sign, and flying bats appear in the distance. One of the bats knocks off PJ as
he and Parappa are attacked.

Parappa (to PJ): Come on, we better hurry!!

They avoid the people under the monstrous afros that continue to grow bigger as
they arrive at...

INT. HAIR SALON

Parappa and PJ have arrived at the salon using the main entrance doors, and
they are shocked to hear the sound of scissors. Scene cuts to some figure in a
salon dress as the camera moves upward, and an instrumental version of "Toasty
Buns" is played in the background.

??????? (V.O.): WHOOO! Yeah! You lookin' FINE!

Camera soon reveals a red octopus figure, who is given the name "Hairdresser
Octopus" onscreen as he continues.

Hairdresser Octopus: This is the original Octopus' Styles!!

Scene immediately cuts to the MILKCAN members in afros among the seated
customers.

Katy: Parappa!

Lammy: HELP!!

Katy: He's known to do great haircuts but he's gone bananas ever since that
tape deck started rolling! He'll only do afros!!

Ma-san (holding drumsticks and talking in gibberish): #!#!#!#!

Lammy: Please, Parappa, do something!!

Scene cuts to Parappa and PJ in wonder as she complains.

PJ: Mmm... but that afro looks good on you.

[NOTE: For some weird reason, PJ's "Mmm..." in the subtitle comes out as
"Mmmooo" with three "o's" instead of ellipses. Beats me. :P]

Lammy (stunned): Don't say that!

Katy: Look, Sunny's gonna be here real soon. You don't want her to go through
this, do you??

Parappa presses his hands to his heart, and the colors swirl around him along
with a teddy bear, moon, stars and a ball of yarn as he closes his eyes and the
scene fades into...

EXT. SUNNY'S HOUSE -- DAY

Parappa parks his car in front of Sunny's house in a dream sequence, whose
sound seems out of sync, and he runs off with a bouquet of flowers in his hand
towards the keyhole-shaped door. He knocks on the door, and finds Sunny in a
dark, fluffier petal hair than she was when her hair was normal. He gets
shocked at this and faints as she speaks.

Sunny: Hey! How do you like my new hairstyle? I had it done at the hair
salon!

Parappa is still shocked as the scene fades back into...

INT. HAIR SALON

Scene is now in normal sequence as Parappa feels anxious, but then gets
surprised that he still has a mission.

Parappa: Wha, wha, what was I supposed to do?

Hairdresser Octopus jumps onto the table in the middle of the seated customers
in a circle.

Hairdresser Octopus: Mira! Let's see who can create the better hairstyle.
BUT, it better not sound like me. Create your own style! If you win, I'll
redo everybody's hair.

Parappa is surprised at this.

Parappa: But, [but, but,] but I've never cut nobody's hair before!

Katy: Come on, Parappa, you can do it! Because we're MILKCAN!!!

As she speaks, she holds out a gold guitar and tosses it into the air, and at
once, it seems to fly into outer space and orbits around the earth before
coming back down. In a familiar "Um Jammer Lammy" homage, the camera cuts to a
bell that rings out, and as Lammy's hand grabs the guitar, her battle cry music
sounds, and she jumps up in a smile and shouts out her familiar catchphrase...

Lammy: Leave it to Lammy!!

As her catchphrase sounds out, a light bulb flashes and he moves quickly in
close-up as his catchphrase joins hers.

Parappa: Yeah. I know, I gotta believe!!!

He jumps in excitement as the circles swirl around him and raises his arms up
in joy, and the rap song "Hair Scare" begins.

~ ii. Song: Hair Scare ~

There is a line of seated customers grooving to the beat, with Ma-san doing the
drumming with her drumsticks and the invisible drums, followed by Katy playing
her bass guitar, and Hairdresser Octopus holding both scissors and starting the
rap with a "WOOOOOO!!!"

Hairdresser Octopus: Introducing, the new flava!

LESSON 1

Hairdresser Octopus: Cutting hair can be fabulous.

Scene cuts to Lammy playing her guitar and back again while he raps, with
Parappa looking afraid but starting to calm down as he holds both pairs of
scissors.

Hairdresser Octopus: So don't just stand there!
Come inside, have a seat and relax,
I promise you, everything will be alright.
OK, baby, let's go. We're gonna do like this.

As they start cutting one customer's hair and rapping, there is a warning which
says "(Kids, don't try this at home!)" and appears in the bottom part of the
subtitle throughout the whole lesson as the rap begins. [Of course, this only
happens in the U.S. version. O_O]

       Hairdresser Octopus: Snip snip.
                   Parappa: Snip snip.
       Hairdresser Octopus: Trim trim.
                   Parappa: Trim trim.
       Hairdresser Octopus: Cut cut.
                   Parappa: Cut cut.
       Hairdresser Octopus: Shave shave.
                   Parappa: Shave shave.
       Hairdresser Octopus: Snip trim cut.
                   Parappa: Snip trim cut.
       Hairdresser Octopus: Shave cut snip.
                   Parappa: Shave cut snip.
       Hairdresser Octopus: Trim shave dye.
                   Parappa: Trim shave dye.
       Hairdresser Octopus: Cut snip trim.
                   Parappa: Cut snip trim.

LESSON 2

The music starts to change as the rap continues.

Hairdresser Octopus: Simple, simple just like that,
I do braids and afros, crew cuts and more.

As he raps, Parappa is on the moving stool and spins around before he jumps
down.

Hairdresser Octopus: Always energetic, smooth with a kick.
Listen to the music and keep up the mix!

They move on to the next customer and start doing the hair again, with Parappa
now on a floating platform.

Hairdresser Octopus: Snip snip snip, snip snip.
Parappa: Snip snip snip, snip snip.
Hairdresser Octopus: Cut cut cut, cut cut.
Parappa: Cut cut cut, cut cut. (Hairdresser Octopus: Ohhh!)
Hairdresser Octopus: Trim trim trim, trim trim.
Parappa: Trim trim trim, trim trim.
       Hairdresser Octopus: Shave shave shave.
Parappa: Shave shave shave. (Hairdresser Octopus: Check it
                            out!)

Scene cuts to Katy playing the bass guitar again before cutting to an aerial
view as the rap continues.

Hairdresser Octopus: Cut the cut, snip the snip.
Parappa: Cut the cut, snip the snip. (Hairdresser Octopus:
                            WOO-HOO!)
Hairdresser Octopus: Trim the trim, shave the shave.
Parappa: Trim the trim, shave the shave.

Scene cuts back to normal view.

Hairdresser Octopus: Trim the cut, shave the snip.
Parappa: Trim the cut, shave the snip. (Hairdresser Octopus:
                            Work that out!)
Hairdresser Octopus: Cut the snip, shave the trim.
Parappa: Cut the snip, shave the trim.

LESSON 3

The duo dance along as the rap continues.

Hairdresser Octopus: You see now, I don't have time to lose.
My customers keep coming in and out.

Lammy is shown playing the guitar while he raps, followed by Katy playing the
bass guitar, and finally by Ma-san playing her drumsticks next to the red-
haired customer.

Hairdresser Octopus (O.C.): Many demands for people alike.
I know what cutting hair's all about.

Parappa and Hairdresser Octopus move on to the next customer again.

Hairdresser Octopus: Trim trim cut, cut trim trim.
Parappa: Trim trim cut, cut trim trim.
Hairdresser Octopus: Perm perm cut, cut perm perm.
Parappa: Perm perm cut, cut perm perm.
Hairdresser Octopus: Cut cut perm, perm cut cut.
Parappa: Cut cut perm, perm cut cut.
Hairdresser Octopus: Snip snip dye, dye snip snip.
Parappa: Snip snip dye, dye snip snip.
Hairdresser Octopus: Dye dye snip, snip cut cut.
Parappa: Dye dye snip, snip cut cut.
Hairdresser Octopus: Trim trim dye, dye snip snip.
Parappa: Trim trim dye, dye snip snip.

Scene cuts to an aerial view of the spider lampstand before moving down to the
duo and the customers as Hairdresser Octopus begins with...

LESSON 4

Hairdresser Octopus: Give it my best shot, to keep myself red hot.
'Cause I'm the one to bring out the original
Flava, flava, for my people, people.

While he raps, a trap door opens up under the floor between them, and Lammy
emerges as she is raised up, strapped to one of the reclining chairs and
looking frightened without her guitar again before the scene cuts to a view of
Parappa next to her near some music machine.

Hairdresser Octopus (O.C.): Come on, kids, last shot for the final.

They soon start to take care of her as the rap begins its final course.

Hairdresser Octopus: With the shampoo, I give it to you all. [the lyric
says "I'll", but the voice says "I"]
Parappa: With the shampoo, I give it to you all.
Hairdresser Octopus: Rinse ya good, I made you look tall.
Parappa: Rinse ya good, I made you look tall.

Lammy is still frightened as her hair returns to normal while the rap
continues with the rapping duo holding hair-dryers.

Hairdresser Octopus: Dry your hair, blow up and down.
Parappa: Dry your hair, blow up and down.

They soon begin to dance to the moves as they continue.

Hairdresser Octopus: Come on, son, it's time to get down.
Parappa: Come on, son, it's time to get down.

All the customers with normal hair are lined up as the rap draws to a close.

Hairdresser Octopus: Keep the line, keep the line moving.
Parappa: Keep the line, keep the line moving.
Hairdresser Octopus: ['Cause] I'm non-stop, my body's just groovin'.
                   Parappa: I'm non-stop, my body's just groovin'.
Hairdresser Octopus: Cut your hair, flat back and up front.
Parappa: Cut your hair, flat back and up front.
Hairdresser Octopus: Give you a perm now, and we're done.
Parappa: Give you a perm now, and we're done.

As the rap ends, Katy stretches out her hands and Lammy becomes scared as they
stand up and their hair becomes normal again, and the music machine gets all
smoked up and breaks apart near them, frightening them both as Ma-san runs near
them. Hairdresser Octopus' appearance soon changes from his red, weird-eyed
self, back to his blue, normal appearance, and now speaks in a normal voice.

Hairdresser Octopus: Hey, who did all of this? That's pretty good.

Parappa: You did. You told me too.

As he finishes speaking, all the customers break out in applause at him with
their hair now back to normal, and he moves about with a smile on his face as
the scene ends.

*3.7. Stage 6: Papa Parappa's Pastime Is Perfected*
***************************************************

[NOTE: Yes, I'm sticking to the name Papa Parappa in the Stage 6 title, despite
the fact that the title calls him "Parappa Papa" for some odd reason. Don't
ask me why, I have no idea. :P]

~ i. Intro ~

INT. HAIR SALON

There is a puff of smoke that emanates near the spider lampstand, and it comes
from the music machine which is now all busted up from Parappa's rapping and
plays nothing but static. Parappa, PJ, Lammy, Katy and Ma-san approach the
busted machine and look around.

Parappa: This machine must be the problem.

Katy: Let's have Parappa's Dad check it out.

Scene fades to black.

INT. PARAPPA'S HOUSE: LIVING ROOM

A voice is heard from the darkness.

Papa Parappa (O.C.): Hmmm...

A lid is opened from inside the machine as Papa Parappa examines it.

Papa Parappa: So this is what's turning everything into noodles...

The gang is now at Parappa's house, with General Potter accompanying them.
Scene cuts to the machine as Papa Parappa grabs some antiques, among them some
video game cartridge that says "FOOD COURT", a remote control, and a rubber
duck.

PJ (O.C.): Woh, this is rare!

Scene cuts to the living room as Papa Parappa tosses some antiques out of the
machine.

Papa Parappa (surprised): Woh! Oh MY!!

Scene cuts to the Food Court videogame cartridge that he holds in his hands,
with its picture showing an ice cream cone and a cup of noodles shooting at
each other between some guy at a ping pong table, then to PJ and Papa Parappa
along with the gang.

PJ: This game is really rare.

Katy (gets angry): Hey, this is no time to be talking about games!

Scene cuts to the cartridge again near the machine.

Papa Parappa (O.C.): This game seems to be the nerve of the noodlizer.

Scene cuts to the gang in shock.

All Except Papa Parappa: Whaaa??

Papa Parappa: If we can overcome this software, maybe we can find a solution.

PJ: But this game never hit the market.

Parappa: Wh, why is that?

Papa Parappa: That's because...

As he says this, he grabs some sort of device and opens it, revealing a red
button, and as he presses it, the shelf opens up in front of the gang,
revealing a secret passage, and the scene cuts to the inside of the passage.

Parappa (surprised): Wow! I didn't know there was a room like this in my
house!

Scene cuts to...

INT. PARAPPA'S HOUSE: PASSAGE

Papa Parappa takes his son's hand and leads the way in the passage.

Papa Parappa: There was a strange rumor going on...

PJ follows them along with Lammy, Ma-san and Katy, who motions her hand, and
Potter follows. Scene cuts to them now sliding down a chute as Papa Parappa
continues.

Papa Parappa: That everyone who couldn't clear this game...

The scene cuts to the spiral chute itself that they are sliding on before
cutting back to him as he continues.

Papa Parappa: Could only... eat noodles. In other words, their bodies accepted
nothing but noodles.

As he slides away, Parappa follows him, much to his dismay of hearing his
father's words.

Parappa: Oh no, not that, please!!

He feels a little nauseated and at one time lies back down head first before
returning as he slides downward, and the scene cuts to...

INT. PARAPPA'S HOUSE: BASEMENT

Papa Parappa lands out of the chute onto the floor of the basement, along with
Parappa and the rest of his gang, in a dust cloud. They soon wonder where they
are, and Papa Parappa is like "Hmm..." as he gives a bit of a smile. Scene
cuts to the boxes and antiques, including the failed de-noodlizer, and Ma-san
is under the table in a dazed shape as she gets up.

Papa Parappa (O.C.): I can't concentrate in a very big room...

Scene cuts to Papa Parappa walking towards the boxes as he continues.

Papa Parappa: ...where did I put... ah...

He scours one of the boxes for something and soon...

Papa Parappa (jumps in joy): Found it!

Parappa and Katy approach to find out what it was.

Katy: What, what, what?

Scene cuts to the gang looking around behind the trio.

Papa Parappa (holds up the picture frame he has found): A picture of me and my
wife on our honeymoon. She used to be really nice...

Parappa and his Papa look in awe and close their eyes in their reminisce about
her, while the scene cuts to PJ discovering some green box between other boxes.

PJ: NO WAY!!!

He jumps in surprise, and the scene cuts to the wondering trio behind him.

PJ: Pet Stone!! From back in the days!!

He opens the box and grabs the pet stone in it.

PJ: This is rare stuff! Can you sell this to me?

Papa Parappa (turns around to the trio): Oh, I gotta [sic] whole bunch of those
in the box back there.

He looks for other stuff in other boxes behind Katy and PJ, and suddenly smiles
as he discovers something while they look around. He grabs some sort of
virtual game console which looks like a camera and blows the dust off of it,
which gets in the way of Parappa's gang, making them cough out the dust in
their lungs; and Parappa tries to breathe and get the dust out of his eyes as
he tries looking at the virtual console, still coughing until they finally
stop.

Papa Parappa: Oh, all we got [script error says "have"] to do now is plug this
into this machine.

Parappa (smiles): Yup.

Papa Parappa (looking strict): But, aa, this is too dangerous for kids.

He winds the crank on the console as he continues while Parappa and Potter look
a little confused.

Papa Parappa (O.C.): I'm not gonna let my baby son do this.

As Parappa closes his eyes, the colors swirl around him along with a teddy
bear, moon, stars and a ball of yarn, and the scene cuts to Papa Parappa
smiling in a dream sequence, and Parappa smiles and holds his father's hand as
the scene fades into another scene, this time of Parappa and the five teachers:
Chop Chop Master Onion and Instructor Moosesha to the right of him; Beard
Burger Master behind him, and Guru Ant (still bigger than his normal size) and
a normal-self Hairdresser Octopus to the left of him as he smiles.

Parappa (V.O.): All this time, I've had many many great teachers help me out.

As Guru Ant waves, Parappa suddenly feels gloomy and bows his head and starts
getting brave.

Parappa (V.O.): But for me to become a real man, it's time I do this myself.

As he thinks, he walks away from them with a smile as he looks ahead before the
daydream scene fades to white, and then cuts back to the basement in normal
sequence as he lifts up his hand to the virtual console.

Parappa: No, Dad, I'll do it.

Papa Parappa (looking at his son with a warning): Once this game starts, no one
can help you. Are you aware of that??

As he speaks, Katy and PJ have become strict as if Parappa were crazy, and as
Papa Parappa finishes, both father and son are behind the gang as Parappa
reaches out for the console and takes it; as he does, the light bulb once again
flashes and he moves quickly in close-up, this time with the virtual console
that he has in front of his face.

Parappa: Yeah, I know. I gotta believe!

He jumps in excitement as the circles swirl around him and raises up his arms
in joy, and soon the console becomes a bit too heavy for his head as he falls
to the floor in a trance and drifts off to sleep, and the rap song "Food Court"
begins.

~ ii. Song: Food Court ~

Scene is now an 8-bit, Commodore 64 version of the screen as its version of
Parappa and Beard Burger Master walk down to its tennis court and float around
like automatic paddles from Pong, as the NES techno game music starts, and a
voice begins to sound.

Food Court Game (V.O.): Hey, everybody! Watch out for those flying noodles,
'cause if you don't do well here,
all you get to eat are noodles!
                        Here we go!

As the voice finishes, food sets are given: ice cream cones and cakes to
Parappa on the player's side, and noodles to Beard on the opponent's side, and
Beard begins the rap in a clear voice with...

LESSON 1

An NES music version of "Toasty Buns" plays in the background as Beard raps.

Beard: Extra, extra, read all about it,
I'm back for more, because my store is a bore,
I travel shore to shore, door to door,
Looking around for the perfect store.

Beard begins to toss the noodles at Parappa.

Beard: Cut the lettuce, (THROW) [toast/warm] the buns.
Parappa: Cut the lettuce, (THROW) [toast/warm] the buns.

As Parappa raps, he grabs the cakes and cones in a counterattack and tosses
them at Beard while avoiding the noodles, and scores a hit at him as Parappa
cheers and Beard is hit. The score is Parappa: 1, Opponent: 0. Beard makes
another noodle toss while he starts the rap again.

Beard: French the fries, (THROW) cook the burgers.
Parappa: French the fries, (THROW) cook the burgers.

As Parappa raps, he counterattacks with cakes and cones again and scores
another hit at Beard. The score is now Parappa: 2, Opponent: 0; once again,
Beard makes another attack as before.

Beard: Serve the patties, (THROW) heat the grill.

                      Romantic, Dramatic, but never panic,
original sensei write rhymes in the attic.

Chop Chop and Parappa toss up more rounds of the noodles, cakes and cones in
the food fight, which is repeated three times as the rap continues.

Chop Chop: Hug, kiss, love and chop, (HAI!) hold hands and kick.
Parappa: Hug, kiss, love and chop, (HAI!) hold hands and kick.

Parappa: Da Masta, Da Masta, is original, (HAI!) kick punch style
                      is unforgettable.

It's Hit #3 at Chop Chop, with the score now Parappa: 6, Opponent: 0. And as
Chop Chop leaves, a C64 version of Guru Ant comes down and starts the rap
with...

LESSON 3

The NES music version of "BIG" plays in the background as Guru Ant raps.

Guru Ant: Revolutions all the time,
people changing the world with crime,
with violence, anger, hunger or whatever [Lyric error
                      adds an "and" before "anger"],
I never get scared, you all know the deal,
patrol my hood, keeping things for real! [Lyric error

Guru Ant and Parappa toss up more rounds of the the noodles, cakes and cones in
the food fight, which is repeated three times as the rap continues.

Parappa: You are the [man/lord], we all know your name? (NOW) You
got it all, cash, money and fame.

my TV show. [the lyric says "come on", but the voice says
                      "come"]
Parappa: Put you back, son, come, you gotta go, (NOW) you're gonna
                      miss your TV show.

Moosesha: Double dutch, inline skate or rock climbing,
don't forget the rhythm, groove and keep rhyming.
One in a million, I know that's me,
can you dig it? [Hmm,] come on, let's see?

Moosesha and Parappa toss up more rounds of the noodles, cakes and cones in the
food fight, which is repeated three times as the rap continues.

Moosesha: Kick, kick, kick, kick. (DO IT!) Slide, slide, slide,

flava, flava, for my people, people,
come on, kid, here comes the final. [the lyric says

Parappa: With the shampoo, you'll give it to me all, (YEAH!) rinse
me good, you made me look tall. [NOTE: Shouldn't
Parappa's part of the final lyric be, "With the shampoo,
you'll give it to us all"? :P]

As Parappa offers the final hit at Hairdresser Octopus, with the final score
now Parappa: 15, Opponent: 0, the giant word "CLEAR" appears on the screen, and
the game scene shrinks back to the virtual console that is still on Parappa,
who wakes up in the basement as the entire gang cheers at his success, and he
jumps in joy along with them as there is a cheering applause. Papa Parappa
smiles next to General Potter.

Papa Parappa: That a boy, Parappa! That's my boy!!

Parappa: Thank you, Dad. I'm proud of you too.

Both father and son give off smiles at each other as Ma-san walks along in
front of them and the scene ends.

*3.8. Stage 7: Noodles Are the Flow, Noodles Are the Groove!*
*************************************************************

~ i. Intro ~

INT. PARAPPA'S HOUSE: BASEMENT

Papa Parappa is very proud of his son's success, with the entire gang among
him, and he takes the virtual game console from Parappa.

Papa Parappa: Good job, son.

Parappa: Thanks, now what do we do with this?

Papa Parappa: Now we use sweets to confront noodles. Then stick this ROM into
this unfinished de-noodlizer.

As he says this, he takes out the Food Court game cartridge from the console
and puts it into the de-noodlizer device in front of Ma-san with a click.

Papa Parappa: Now it's complete.

Scene cuts to the now-finished device with the cartridge in it in a ray of
light for a few seconds before cutting back to the siren that sounds out an
alert in the basement.

Alarm (V.O.): Warning. Warning. We are under attack. Level 2 warning!

As the voice sounds out, scene cuts to Parappa and the gang becoming alarmed in
fright.

Alarm (V.O.): The Noodle Syndicate is attacking our town. Repeat. Warning.
Warning.

General Potter looks up at the siren alarm, and a cell phone rings out before
he takes it and presses the button. [Note that the whole scene is going out of
sync with the voices.]

Potter (calling on the cell phone): Yes. What?? A Noodle Syndicate tank?? On
the streets??

While he is speaking, another cell phone, pink with stars, rings out, and Katy
takes it from her pocket and calls on it.

Katy: Hello. What?? The Noodle Syndicate took over the music store??? The
guitar strings turned into noodles??

As she speaks in fright, still another cell phone's ring is heard. This time,
Ma-san takes it from her pocket and begins to speak in an unintelligible, high-
pitched gibberish.

Ma-san: !!!!!!!!

She understands that the Noodle Syndicate must have attacked her hometown too,
and soon another ring is heard, this time from an old antique phone, and PJ
takes it.

PJ: Huh? Noodles into noodles?? At the Chinese Restaurant?

Potter starts becoming aroused with fear and anger, and then raises up his fist
in bravery.

Potter: It's showtime, men.

Papa Parappa (stepping in): Hey, why don't you use my past inventions??

Scene cuts to...

INT. ???????

There is a close-up of a steering wheel with Parappa's hand on the lever and a
sound of a car starting up, and the scene cuts to Parappa and PJ on a red car
with some artillery loaded up on it next to some fighter jet as they begin to
start, and the scene cuts to...

EXT. UNDERGROUND BUNKER -- DAY

A drawbridge opens up beneath the bunker and comes down onto the ground. Scene
cuts to a close-up of Lammy's feet on the pedal of a motorcycle with the
de-noodlizer on it, and Lammy leads the way out of the bunker, followed by
Parappa and PJ on the artillery car, and then by the fighter jet equipped with
the de-noodlizer that lifts off as they drive out into the grassy valley
through the mountains in a cloud of dust before the scene cuts to black.

EXT. PARAPPA TOWN -- DUSK

Scene cuts to the Noodle Syndicate in tanks riding in darkness on the streets.
One tank aims its weapon patrolled by a Noodle Syndicate member and fires a
noodle missle from its cannon near the Tofu Tub sign. Scene cuts to an aerial
view of the town as the missle lands at the Fresh Bake Shop, making it explode
into noodles in a noodle mushroom cloud and covering it in noodles. Another
noodle missle is fired again, followed by more noodle missles from other tanks,
before the scene cuts to the syndicate members firing noodle guns with a few
shots. Another syndicate member uses the noodlizer to fire shots, and Chop
Chop Master Onion evacuates the dojo along with a Tamanegi and the Tamanegi
woman before the red artillery car and the motorcycle arrive, as Lammy leads
Parappa and PJ through the streets in vehicles; Instructor Moosesha evacuates
with other coaches and referees through the dust cloud as well. Scene cuts to
the fighter jet coming in from the sky to the rescue and flying off before
cutting to its control panel, with Potter's finger pressing a button, and a
screen comes up in front of him. Scene cuts to Lammy on the motorcycle, with
Katy at the steering wheel.

Potter (V.O.): Red troopers, to the right, green troopers, cover up.

As Potter's voice speaks, scene cuts to Parappa and PJ in the artillery car
before cutting to Potter at the jet's control panel.

Potter (giving the signal): FIRE!!

The artillery car fires the de-noodlizer's shot, and Lammy and Katy's
motorcycle follows. Scene cuts to the syndicate members firing noodle guns
shot after shot before one of them sees the fighter jet and fires a shot at it.
Scene cuts to Papa Parappa seated at the steering wheel next to Potter, trying
to control the jet, before cutting to an aerial view of the tanks patrolling
the streets below it as it flies off, and another building is hit by a noodle
missle and turned into noodles. Scene cuts to a far-off view of the Beard
Burger Restaurant, with its managers evacuating the building led by Lammy's
motorcycle, as the restaurant is hit by another noodle missle and implodes into
a noodle mushroom cloud. Scene cuts back to the artillery car near the
bookstore, with PJ in shock at the restaurant being hit before Parappa fires
the de-noodlizer shot at the noodles in its place, restoring the restaurant to
normal before the noodle tank fires immediately and implodes the restaurant
back to noodle form again. The jet fires the de-noodlizer shot at what once
was Cafe Rodney, restoring it before imploding it back with the noodle guns
from the smiling syndicate members. Scene cuts to Papa Parappa and Potter in
the jet as he calls on the radio.

Potter: Hmm... It's not working. OK, men, switch to Sweets Attack!

Parappa (calling on the radio near the movie theater): Ten-four, sir.
Switching to Sweets Attack!

The artillery car switches from the de-noodlizer into a cannon that fires a
cake shot, followed by the jet's cake shot, and the motorcycle does the same.
Scene cuts to PJ tossing cake shots next to Parappa's artillery car, and then
to the flying cakes above the noodle tank before cutting to the jet again, with
Ma-san behind the duo.

Potter: Yes, yes! Do it!

The cakes land on tank after tank upon each impact as his voice continues.

Potter (V.O.): May sweets take over the world!

As he speaks, the syndicate members evacuate from the cake shots fired at their
army while the camera moves up closer to the Tamanegi woman speaking in fear
with Hairdresser Octopus.

Tamanegi Woman: I don't think this is helping us at all!!!!

She watches the scene with him behind Joe Chin and Chop Chop, before cutting to
the jet again.

Potter: Sweets rule!!!!

The tank sounds out the retreat and the other tanks follow, before the scene
fades to white and back into...

EXT. PARAPPA TOWN -- DAY

Light returns to the town damaged by noodles, and the tanks are empty before
the artillery car and motorcycle stop at the Fruit Lovers store, and Parappa
and PJ walk out before the scene moves to a close-up of the tank.

PJ (popping up): Hey, these guys are dummies!

Scene moves to an aerial view of Parappa and his gang in shock.

All: WHAAT!?

PJ shakes the Noodle Syndicate dummy, and Parappa walks up to the tank's noodle
artillery, unknowingly trips on a wire, and falls face-down to the ground
before Papa Parappa runs up to him.

Parappa (gets up and points): Hey, check it out! What are those wires sticking
out??

Scene cuts to a close-up of the tank's wire...

PJ (O.C.): It goes that way!

...before cutting back to the trio.

Parappa: Let's follow it!

Scene cuts to an aerial view of where the wire leads as he continues.

Parappa (O.C.): It goes into that building!

The jet is parked next to the artillery car in far-off view next to Lammy and
Katy, who are standing next to the Noodle Syndicate Headquarters buildings
before the camera makes a speedy close-up into...

INT. NOODLE SYNDICATE HEADQUARTERS

Parappa and the gang run inside as they follow the wires through the hallway,
with Papa Parappa following them from behind. They soon enter the meeting hall
and run up the flights of stairs through the floors of the building, and it
seems to go on forever a la "Final Fantasy VII" before the scene cuts to an
aerial view of the stairs and finally into the top floor hallway, before they
finally stop to kneel down and examine the wires a bit, and Parappa looks at
the gang before they look inside.

INT. NOODLE SYNDICATE HEADQUARTERS: COMPUTER ROOM

There is a far-off view of someone seated at the room.

??????: Yahoo! It just doesn't get any sweeter than this!

Scene cuts to the gang.

Parappa (points out): That must be the boss!!

The lad seated at the table, "Colonel Noodle" himself, as his name reveals
onscreen, peeks out from behind the chair with a frightened look and his red
glasses on.

Noodle: Hey! What are you lookin'?

Papa Parappa (steps in angry and points at him): Now wait a minute! You're the
burger shop's son! [sic]

Parappa becomes shocked beyond recognition upon hearing this, and there is a
snapshot and a flash of light as Noodle's picture is taken with a smile. His
robe turns into a red shirt with brown overalls. Another shapshot later, and
he is revealed, without his glasses, to be... the Beard Burger Manager himself
from Stage 1, standing next to the Beard Burger restaurant and looking stunned,
in close-up as he opens his blue eyes. Another snapshot later, and the entire
gang is surprised.

Parappa (approaching in shock): What do you think you're doing?

Noodle: Shut up! I hate burgers and I'll tell you why. I was destined to
become a burger shop owner from the day I was born.

As he speaks, the scene fades into a flashback showing the outside of Beard
Burger Restaurant, with a close-up of Beard Burger Master and his wife smiling
at their young son Noodle, who smiles before it turns into a frown.

Noodle (V.O.): My Dad was so into burger research that all I got to eat was
burgers, burgers, burgers.

Scene fades into inside the restaurant, as the family is seated at table with
burgers in front of the frowning Noodle, whose narration continues.

Noodle: Burgers for a snack, burgers for breakfast, burgers for lunch and
burgers for dinner.

As he yells in anger, burgers are piled up, and he raises his fists in anger
before a burger falls on his head; and the scene cuts back to the computer room
as he continues his narration before the scene cuts to close-ups of burgers in
a flashback again.

Noodle: Even at my own birthday party, hamburger, cheeseburger, hamburger,
cheeseburger, bacon burger...

There are now lots of burgers on each side of a table, with a giant burger cake
with candles surrounded by more burgers in the middle, and young Noodle becomes
shocked at the sight of it all and feels deserted and begins to cry.

Noodle (V.O.): All my friends hated me for that.

Scene cuts to Noodle's mother who smiles as him before cutting back to the
computer room as his narration continues.

Noodle: Even, even my Mother. She ate so many burgers that...

As he speaks, he becomes saddened, and Parappa and his gang become sad too.

Parappa: Did she pass away??

Noodle: No, she turned into one.

Scene cuts to the flashback again, with young Noodle in shock as he sees his
frightened mother become too fat and undergo the burger transformation, and yet
she still smiles as the scene fades back to the computer room once more.

Noodle: But, see, I always liked noodles more than burgers. Actually, I love
noodles. That's why I'm going to have noodles take over the world!

Scene cuts to a close-up of the angry Noodle as he continues.

Noodle: Noodles are the flow, noodles are the groove, and I'm gonna make
everybody understand that!

He raises his left hand on the word "flow" and his right hand on the word
"groove", and jumps on the word "everybody", before the scene cuts to Parappa
and his gang confronting Noodle...

Noodle (O.C.): So let there be noodles!

...before cutting back to him looking like a fanatic as he continues.

Noodle: I represent for noodles, baby!

He then jumps out of the chair, as a battle cry is about to start.

Noodle: You know that. I know I'm right. I know I'm right.

While he mutters something else, this time, a dark version of Parappa's
catchphrase music swells in a battle cry as the same light bulb once again
flashes and Noodle copies Parappa's activity as he moves up in close-up and
utters out Parappa's catchphrase in a battle cry...

Noodle: Oh, I know, I gotta believe!!!!

He jumps in excitement as the circles swirl around him and raises his arms up
in a smile of joy, and this time, the rap battle feud, "Noodles Can't Be Beat",
begins.

~ ii. Song: Noodles Can't Be Beat ~

Colonel Noodle walks up from the supercomputer on the step and grooves along to
the beat in hip-hop fashion as he walks down the steps and begins the rap feud.

Noodle: Yeah, yeah, we're gonna bring it down like this, y'all! [Parappa: Oh
         yeah, ha-ha! Yup-yup.]

Scene moves to an aerial view of Parappa in confrontation with him as he
continues.

Noodle: I'm gonna let my man Parappa know that [Parappa: Word!]
         noodles rule the world.

Parappa's gang is counting on him as Noodle continues.

Noodle: Yeah, yeah, that lil' slippery thing
tastes so good all the time.
Yeah, yeah, that's right. [Parappa: Aaaiiight?]
It goes a little something like this.
Stay with me now, here we go.
[Parappa: Yeah, like this, like this.]

Noodle starts off the rap feud with...

LESSON 1

Noodle: In parenthesis, let me stress the fact clearly.
No matter what the deal, I crave for this dearly.

Scene cuts to Parappa's gang pondering at their fate as Noodle's rap continues.

Noodle: The so-called noodles that you find in spaghetti (Parappa: Uh-huh.)
are sweeter than idols, do damage like machetes. (Parappa: Uh-huh.)
Without a doubt, I got da flow, comin' at ya live,
bring the place alive, every single day I jive. (Parappa: Uh-huh.)
With the thought comes my direct actions.
Ask my followers, they'll say it's an addiction.

Both bring in tables with bowls of food, with Noodle's noodles and Parappa's
fruits, as they begin their rap-and-counter-rap feud by eating with forks.

Noodle: Slurp it, suck it, I know you all like it.
Parappa: Slurp it, suck it, I know we all like it.
Noodle: Smell it, taste it, pasta in a market.
Parappa: Smell it, taste it, fruit in a basket.

Noodle switches to different costumes as he continues, and Parappa does the
same as he counters, each in order: Military Dragon Suit, Neapolitan garb,
Monk's robe and Reggae suit for Noodle...

Noodle: Chinese, Italian, Thai or Jamaican...

...and Mexican garment with sombrero, striped Egyptian priest's robe, a British
royal guard's suit, and Korean robe for Parappa...

Parappa: Mexican, Egyptian, English, Korean...

...then to Noodle in a hula skirt and coconut top...

 Noodle: Anything goes, even Hawaiian.

...and finally to Parappa in an Eskimo suit.

Parappa: Anything goes, even Alaskan.

They are now back to normal clothing as the rap feud continues to...

LESSON 2

Noodle: Long and chewy, occasionally gooey. (Parappa: Uh-huh, uh-huh, uh-huh.)
The best things in life taste good with chop suey. (Parappa: Chop
         suey!)
8 minutes to boil and 2 minutes to eat. (Parappa: Uh-huh.)
Admit it, kid, you know noodles can't be beat. (Parappa: Hoo!)

All of a sudden bricks come crashing down from the wall behind Parappa and
Noodle, who are confused and look around to find out the cause. Just then a
door opens up behind them, and they turn around to see... a table labeled "PJ
DJ" on it, and soon PJ Berri emerges from behind the table a few minutes late,
brings out a record, and makes a disc-jockeying noise at the turntable in front
of them and the entire gang. Just then, the lights go out on everyone, who is
all like "What?" "What happened?" "What's going on?" "What happened?" "Hey, who
did this?" "What, what??" "Wait, wait wait wait!" etc. before the scene cuts
back to brightness, with PJ disc-jockeying as the rap/counter-rap feud
continues, with Parappa and Noodle both holding plates of noodles.

Noodle: Roll it on your spoon. Create your own boom.
Parappa: Roll it on my spoon. Create my own boom.
Noodle: I betcha didn't know. Noodles' the rules.
Parappa: I betcha didn't know. There are no rules.

They are now at a large table and set out plates of food as the rap feud
continues.

Noodle: Sushi, burgers, they all taste good.
Parappa: Pizza, burritos, they all taste good.
Noodle: As long as they got noodles, the king of all foods.
Parappa: As long as they love food, then any thing's cool.

The feud continues with...

LESSON 3

Noodle: Hip hop music with an old school twist. (Parappa: Hip hop, hip hop.)
I keep the place intact and do a rap like this. (Parappa: Like this.)

Parappa mouths Noodle's words "like this".

Noodle: You can use a spoon, fork, knife or even chopsticks.
Come on, kid, get down with the mix. (Parappa: Uhhh.)

Both go near the computer as the rap feud continues.

 Noodle: N, double O, D, L, E, S.
Parappa: C, double O, K, I, E, S.

As they rap, the spelled out word "NOODLES" appears letter by letter above
Noodle's head before it falls to the floor in a plop, and another spelled out
word, this time "COOKIES", appears in a similar way above Parappa's head before
it cracks, crumbles and falls to the same floor.

Noodle: Great tasting pasta, blow to your chest.
Parappa: Great tasting sweets, blow to my chest.

Both are now at the large table again, this time in front of the approaching
gang as Noodle and Parappa each set out plates of food again.

Noodle: Ramen, udon, soba, you name it.
Parappa: Brownies, a pie, a shake, you name it.
Noodle: Any type of noodles you like, yes, I got it.
Parappa: Any type of sweets you like, yes, I got it.

Both Noodle and Parappa are back in their places again before Parappa becomes
exhausted and makes a stopping motion with both hands before Noodle gives up as
the rap feud is starting to come to a close with...

LESSON 4

Parappa approaches Noodle, who backs off down the steps as he continues the rap
feud.

Noodle: Whatever your thoughts may be, I'm bound to be (Parappa: May be.)
the king of all foods with my noodles as the key, (Parappa: As the
         key.)
full of pride, and glory way up above,
['cause] here I come, y'all, [all] full of noodles and love.

Both make out poses on the words "noodles and love", and hold out plates of
noodles once again as the rap feud begins its final part.

Noodle: Noodles are the best, no doubt, can't deny, taste better than water,
         but don't ask me why.
Parappa: Noodles are the best, no doubt, can't deny, taste better than water,
         but don't ask me why.

As Noodle finishes on "don't ask me why," he looks up, and water suddenly pours
out on top of him at his mention of "water", washing his plate off of him along
with his glasses and his noodle afro hat, and he makes a sad dance while
Parappa follows.

Noodle: But then again, many things can be tasty, corn bread, potatoes, rice
         and even pastries.

As Noodle raps, he generates thought balloons of other foods besides noodles,
and Parappa does the same as he follows.

Parappa: But then again, many things can be tasty, corn bread, potatoes, rice
         and even pastries.
Noodle: Then why do I love noodles so dearly? It makes no sense. I must've
         sounded real eerie.
Parappa: Then why do you love noodles so dearly? It makes no sense. You
         must've sounded real eerie.

Noodle starts making a smile again as the rap feud makes its way to its closing
part.

Noodle: Thanks, brother, for lettin' me understand that a man must understand
         to keep his options open.
Parappa: You're welcome, brother, for lettin' you understand that a man must
understand to keep his options open.

As both of them finish, PJ finishes disc-jockeying in front of them as there is
an applause from the gang.

Parappa: See? Noodles aren't the only food around, you know!

Noodle: Yeah, you're right! I'm up for some noodle sushi!

As Noodle stretches out his arms in a pose, Parappa bows down to one side and
nods as the rap feud finally comes to a close.

~ i. Intro ~

EXT. FOREST -- DAY

It is a beautiful day in the forest as Parappa and the gang are having a picnic
along with Sunny Funny, Colonel Noodle and the Noodle Syndicate members while
Joe Chin tries balancing a giant hamburger while a Tamanegi pupil chases him in
the background. General Potter, Sunny's dad, still has a part of the
de-noodlizer, which is now made into a phonograph that starts playing a record
on it. As it does, the song "Come a Long Way" starts playing in the
background, and he shares a father-daughter relationship with Sunny as she
smiles while Joe and the Tamanegi pupil are still trying to find a way to get
the giant burger onto the picnic blanket, and a voice begins to sing before the
scene fades to...

INT. SUNNY'S HOUSE

There is a scene of Parappa leaving Sunny on the table in distress over the
noodle incident in a memory sequence, with PJ following him, and Sunny leaves
the table before the scene fades to black.

Singer (V.O.): It was cold that night
When you came into my troublesome life.

EXT. PARAPPA TOWN -- DAY

There is an aerial view of the town and a far-off view of Parappa and PJ
walking on the sidewalk, this time with Sunny following them.

Singer (V.O.): And it seemed as though
everything's gonna be alright, for the moment.

Scene fades to Parappa and PJ walking to the Beard Burger Restaurant together,
and Sunny tries calling them to no avail before she stops and sighs and then
walks away before the scene returns to aerial view again and then into...

EXT. SUNNY'S HOUSE: LIVING ROOM

Sunny follows the dance moves of Chop Chop Master Onion and the Tamanegi woman
while watching "Romantic Karate".

Singer (V.O.): Since then here and there,
My life's become like a roller coaster ride.

She stops, turns around, looks at the window, and sees Parappa and Guru Ant
getting grown up to gigantic size, with their legs grown literally taller. She
runs to the window in surprise and looks up at the sky for any sign of Parappa
while the voice sings. Scene cuts to a sky and then fades into...

INT. SPECIAL ARMED FORCES TRAINING CAMP

Potter uses the binoculars and sees the whole scene along with his daughter
Sunny, who looks on in awe before he looks at her and speaks something to her
as he hands her the binoculars.

Singer (V.O.): Up and down, 'round and 'round,
Bad times and good times were on hand.

She looks through the binoculars with a weird look in her eyes and sees
something before the scene fades into...

EXT. SPECIAL ARMED FORCES TRAINING CAMP -- DAY

There is an aerial view of Parappa riding a bike up the ramp with Instructor
Moosesha cheering him on as the voice continues.

Singer (V.O.): We tried to live up to our feelings.

Scene fades into...

EXT. NOODLE SYNDICATE HEADQUARTERS -- DAY

There is an aerial view of the headquarters before the camera moves down to
ground view as Parappa and Noodle walk together holding hands as bygones before
waving to a smiling Sunny at the town devastated by noodles while the citizens
and army recruits are making repairs as the song continues.

Singer (V.O.): But then soon, we overcame them all,
one by one, side by side we gave each other,
Love that's real, an everlasting one,
               real love.

She runs up to the duo holding a magazine and becomes surprised at the two of
them waving at her, with Parappa's gang coming behind them as the scene fades
back to...

EXT. FOREST -- DAY

Sunny smiles at all the memories she shared on her adventures with Parappa as
she looks behind him with her father, while Joe Chin is trounced by the giant
burger with the Tamanegi pupil on top of it while the song continues.

Singer (V.O.): We've come a, come a long way.

Scene fades to Noodle talking with Parappa's gang and the syndicate members
while they picnic together. While they speak, Parappa looks at her as she
gives him a replica of the red hat he has worn, and gives it to Noodle, who
looks in surprise at the gift and smiles.

Singer (V.O.): After dark, you were sweet.
So emotional, holding me in your warm arms.

Noodle raises his arms in joy, and Parappa describes the gift to him before one
of the syndicate members come up to Noodle and hands him a card to send to
Parappa.

Singer (V.O.): But the very next day, you were gone.

Parappa puts his hands to his heart in joy, and Noodle hands the card to him in
exchange for the hat as the song continues.

Singer (V.O.): Didn't care how I felt, I couldn't act the way I wanted.

Parappa opens up the card with an invitation inside that says, below the words
"Colonel Noodle": "Dear Parappa, Please come and play at our concert. Yours
Truly, Colonel Noodle." The camera moves up to Sunny and her father, who smile
along with Papa Parappa, Katy Kat, PJ, Lammy, and Ma-san.

Parappa (O.C.): Cool! Colonel Noodles [sic] got us a stage to perform!! How
cool!

While he speaks, Noodle tries on the hat behind the syndicate members, as one
of them helps him before the scene fades to black.

INT. NOODLE SYNDICATE HEADQUARTERS

Joe Chin and the Tamanegi pupil walk down the hallway along with the teenage
boy while the army recruits are speaking with the syndicate member before the
scene fades to...

INT. NOODLE SYNDICATE HEADQUARTERS: PRIVATE ROOM

Parappa's gang looks at him in gladness as he prepares himself before he speaks
to Sunny.

Parappa: Hey, Sunny, I've tried so many things to try and grow up, but I don't
think I really did. So for today's show, I'm just going to do what I always
do.

Sunny (smiles): Don't be silly, Parappa. You're man enough already. If you
keep trying and never give up, you're already a grown-up.

Parappa (puts his hand to his face): Yeah, I gotta believe!!

The gang makes a smile at him before the scene fades to black.

INT. BACKSTAGE ROOM

As the song continues, Parappa's gang and the three teachers form a circle
while MC King Kong Mushi shows the moves to Parappa before the platform below
him elevates...

Singer (V.O.): You and me together.

...and the scene fades to...

INT. NOODLE SYNDICATE CONCERT STAGE

There is an aerial view of the entire audience cheering as the song continues.

Singer (V.O.): Even though we have fights, we still are one.

Scene cuts to King Kong Mushi bowing to the crowds as his name is revealed
onscreen while the voice continues singing. As he extends his hands out to the
right, Parappa emerges from below the stage in the elevator as he extends his
hands out in gratitude and bows, and the scene cuts to the Noodle Syndicate
members cheering out, along with Papa Parappa, the Tamanegi woman and pupil,
General Potter and Sunny, the army recruits and Joe Chin as the song fades out.

Singer (V.O.): Love that's real, a lasting one,
               real love.
               We've come a, come a long way.

Scene cuts to an aerial view of Parappa and King Kong Mushi bowing to the
cheering audience, and as the scene fades to black, the final stage rap song,
"Always Love!" begins.

~ ii. Song: Always Love! ~

Parappa, accompanied by Lammy, Katy, and Ma-san of MILKCAN and PJ, stands on
stage with MC King Kong Mushi, who holds up the microphone as the rap song
begins.

King Kong Mushi: Yeah, yeah, yeah, this is it! Back once again,
[Parappa: Oh yeah! Ha ha! Woo-hoo!]
                         the final party!!
Is everybody ready to do this?
Come on, let me hear you... [Parappa: Alright!]

LESSON 1

        King Kong Mushi: ...say HO,
               Everyone: HO!
King Kong Mushi: say HO HO,
               Everyone: HO HO!
King Kong Mushi: say HO HO HO,
               Everyone: HO HO HO!
        King Kong Mushi: now scream!

Everyone cheers along with him as King Kong Mushi begins his rap.

King Kong Mushi: It's party time, come on, everybody, you can do it,
                         shake your body.
Parappa: It's party time, come on, everybody, you can do it,
                         shake your body.
King Kong Mushi: Come on out on the floor, and rock it till you want
                         some more!
Parappa: Come on out on the floor, and rock it till you want
                         some more!
King Kong Mushi: Wave your hands from left to right, feel the rhythm,
                         enjoy the ride.
Parappa: Wave your hands from left to right, feel the rhythm,
                         enjoy the ride.

LESSON 2

King Kong Mushi: Yeah yeah, I know the people are rockin', (Parappa:
                         They're rockin'.)
the night is young and we go non-stoppin'. (Parappa:
                         Non-stoppin'.)

Parappa spins around to the groove while King Kong Mushi raps.

King Kong Mushi: People up front, people way back, (Parappa: Come on,
                         come on!)
come on, y'all, let's rock this shack!

Katy joins King Kong Mushi in the rap while Lammy joins Parappa in guitar
grooves.

King Kong Mushi: 1, 2, 3, 4 and 5, come on, everybody, look alive.
                Parappa: 1, 2, 3, 4 and 5, come on, everybody, look alive.
King Kong Mushi: 6, 7, 8, 9 and 10, everybody dance, hard till the end.
Parappa: 6, 7, 8, 9 and 10, everybody dance, hard till the end.

LESSON 3

Colonel Noodle, Hairdresser Octopus and Instructor Moosesha emerge from the
noodles apart from one of the hair customers as the rap continues.

King Kong Mushi (O.C.): MCs, DJs, dancers and artists, (Parappa: Yeah yeah,
                         yeah, uh-huh.)
we're all in the same big boat, let's shout. (Parappa:
                         Same boat, y'all.)

The trio of teachers now join King Kong Mushi's side while Guru Ant, Chop Chop
Master Onion and Beard Burger join Parappa's.

King Kong Mushi: 'Cause I'm the MC, and you're the crowd,
you better enjoy it, right about now.

He's back again, the young pup on the block, taking
                         every problem one by one.
Parappa: He's back again, the young pup on the block, taking
                         every problem one by one.
King Kong Mushi: Doesn't cut corners, he never gives up! That's why
                         he's always the number one!
Parappa: Doesn't cut corners, he never gives up! That's why
                         he's always the number one!

While they rap, camera moves in a circle to face the audience with Sunny giving
a smile before moving back again, before the rap continues to...

LESSON 4

King Kong Mushi: A hero lives in your neighborhood,
you all should be proud 'cause he's a tough little
                         kid.
                         (Parappa: Yeah yeah, non-stop.)
Always believin', never retreating, (Parappa: Hold
                         hands.)
Parappa's the name [and] he'll give you a fix.

To all the brothers, and the sisters.
Parappa: To all the brothers, and the sisters.
King Kong Mushi: All the mothers, and the fathers.
Parappa: All the mothers, and the fathers.
King Kong Mushi: We all have problems, no doubt for sure, but tonight,
                         let's forget and unite!
Parappa: We all have problems, no doubt for sure, but tonight,
                         let's forget and unite!

Scene cuts to the audience waving at Parappa and the others on stage while the
rap continues.

King Kong Mushi: People in the front, people in the back, side to side,
                         let's all get down!
Parappa: People in the front, people in the back, side to side,
                         let's all get down!

LESSON 5

King Kong Mushi: I see a party in front of me, that's what I like,
everybody just happy and doing what they like.
(Parappa: I'm your man, I'm your man.)

While they rap, the stage is elevated on the platforms designed like a cake and
a burger behind the teachers.

King Kong Mushi: The night's still young, so grab your partner,
here we go, [y'all,] all night long.

Scene pulls to a far-off view of the elevated platform before King Kong Mushi
starts his final part.

King Kong Mushi: If you gotta problem, whatcha gonna do??
Parappa: If you gotta problem, whatcha gonna do??
King Kong Mushi: Give it up? or believe in yourself?
Parappa: Give it up? or believe in yourself?
King Kong Mushi: If you gotta problem, whatcha gonna do??
Parappa: If you gotta problem, whatcha gonna do??
King Kong Mushi: Like Parappa, you gotta believe!!
Parappa: Like Parappa, you gotta believe!!

Both spin around to the groove while they rap before King Kong Mushi finishes
it off with...

        King Kong Mushi: Say Ho!
Parappa (with everyone): Ho!
King Kong Mushi: Say Ho Ho!
Parappa (with everyone): Ho Ho!
King Kong Mushi: Say Ho Ho Ho!
Parappa (with everyone): Ho Ho Ho!
        King Kong Mushi: Now scream.
Parappa (with everyone): *scream*

This time, the role is reversed and switches once again from King Kong Mushi to
Parappa, who is now the call to the audience's response.

                Parappa: Say Alright!
               Everyone: Alright!
                Parappa: Say Oh yeah!
               Everyone: Oh yeah!
                Parappa: Whatcha gonna do??
               Everyone: Whatcha gonna do??
                Parappa: I gotta believe!!
               Everyone: I gotta believe!!
                Parappa: Say Alright!
               Everyone: Alright!
                Parappa: Say Oh yeah!
               Everyone: Oh yeah!
                Parappa: Whatcha gonna do??
               Everyone: Whatcha gonna do??
                Parappa: I gotta believe!!
               Everyone: I gotta believe!!

The audience cheers for Parappa and the gang as the rap comes to an end, and
the camera moves around the entire audience as the gang takes a bow to them
before the scene cuts once again to King Kong Mushi, who makes a hearty laugh.

King Kong Mushi: [Yeah,] Parappa, was that a party or what!?

Parappa (raising his arms): It surely was, I hope you all had a great time too!

The camera slowly pulls away from Parappa and the gang to a far-off view of the
audience cheering out in applause before the scene slowly fades to black.

*3.10. Ending and Credits*
**************************

EXT. PARAPPA TOWN -- DAY

There is an aerial view of Parappa Town, with cars driving on the streets as
Parappa's voice narrates.

Parappa (V.O.): And so, that's the end of this funny adventure. Peace is back
in Parappa Town, Beard Burger's loving the new noodles, taste and all, they're
having a good time.

While his voice narrates, scene fades to a far-off view of Beard Burger
Restaurant near the movie theater that is still showing "Jet Baby", with the
two punks walking with Ma-san and PJ before the scene fades to an aerial view
of the streets with the Fruit Lovers and Cafe Rodney signs next to the Chic
chicken restaurant where Lammy and Katy are exiting and following Joe Chin.

Parappa (V.O.): My friends are watching movies, you know, listening to music,
back to doing what they usually do.

Scene fades into...

EXT. SPECIAL ARMED FORCES TRAINING CAMP -- DAY

General Potter and Papa Parappa walk out of the training camp, talking with
Instructor Moosesha, who is in front of an army pupils running up to the camp
as Parappa's voice continues narrating.

Parappa (V.O.): But as for Dad, he is still coming up with those impractical
gadgets, and using up all of the family's money.

Papa Parappa seems to be holding an ice-cream cone-shaped invention as the
scene fades to black.

Parappa (V.O.): But as for me, I'm on my way to Sunny's for dinner.

EXT. SUNNY'S HOUSE -- DAY

Scene fades to a view of Sunny's lemon-shaped house while Parappa's voice is
speaking before fading into...

INT. SUNNY'S HOUSE

There is a close-up of food and drinks on the table as Parappa's voice is still
narrating.

Parappa (V.O.): Wow, I can eat anything now. Anything...

Scene fades into Sunny's dining room with a curtain that opens up to reveal a
kitchen, with Parappa exiting and carrying a tray of some sort of food.

Parappa (V.O.): ...but cheese.

Scene fades to the kitchen, with Parappa placing the tray of cheese pizza into
an oven, with a kettle on its stove next to the pantry.

Parappa (V.O.): I won another lifetime supply of cheese.

As the voice finishes narrating, he closes the oven and starts it before he
leaves, and the scene fades to a close-up of the oven as the pizza spins around
as the camera comes closer before the scene fades into the inside of the oven,
which heats the pizza as the ending credits appear. The cheese starts to melt
while the credits continue, all the while starting to form words, which soon
spell out "PARAPPA THE RAPPER 2" and turn into a trademark logo as the credits
end.

# 4. Miscellany #

*********************************************
*4.1. Unlockable Songs from the Record Store*
*********************************************

In case you didn't know, there are four difficulty levels depending on
Parappa's hat color, which tells you what level you're currently playing, and
the crown color on each teacher's icon, which tells you what level you are
currently playing the game at:

Difficulty Level 1: Red
Difficulty Level 2: Blue
Difficulty Level 3: Pink
Difficulty Level 4: Yellow

To advance to the next difficulty level, you must complete all eight stages of
the game in the current level (the lyrics will slightly change depending on
which level's stage you are playing the game at). Once you have completed the
Yellow Difficulty Level 4 on all stages and Modes (Cool Mode and Vs. CPU Mode),
not only will you change Parappa's hat color to whatever you like using the
right analogue stick (but not the difficulty level), but you will also unlock
the Record Store that plays all the stage songs on Cool Mode and also plays
two new songs: "Come a Long Way" (from the Stage 8 Intro), and "Say 'I Gotta
Believe!'" (unlockable when you beat all four difficulty levels on Vs. CPU
Mode). Here are the songs that I will show to you.

I. COME A LONG WAY (FULL VERSION)

This is the full version of the "Come a Long Way" that is played in the Stage 8
Intro of the game when Sunny remembers seeing Parappa throughout his whole
adventure, and when Colonel Noodle invites him to his concert. Sung by the
voice-over for Sunny Funny herself, Lea Alomar, with the background vocalist
who did "Love You Rap" from Parappa 1, John Simpson III (Dred Foxx, I think).

It was cold that night
When you came into my troublesome life.
And it seemed as though
everything's gonna be alright, for the moment.

Since then here and there,
My life's become like a roller coaster ride.
Up and down, 'round and 'round,
Bad times and good times were on hand.
We tried to live up to our feelings.

But then soon, we overcame them all,
one by one, side by side we gave each other,
Love that's real, an everlasting one,
real love.
We've come a, come a long way.

After dark, you were sweet.
So emotional, holding me in your warm arms.
But the very next day, you were gone.
Didn't care how I felt, I couldn't act the way I wanted.

(Yeah, yeah yeah.
Caress you in my arms.
But we're always fighting, y'all.
Yeah, yeah.
Constant struggle,
Meaningless fights,
Irritation.)

But then soon, we overcame them all,
one by one, side by side we gave each other,
Love that's real, an everlasting one,
real love.
We've come a, come a long way.

You and me together.
Even though we have fights, we still are one.
Love that's real, a lasting one,
real love.
We've come a, come a long way.

(Yeah, yeah, side to side.
Yeah.)
You know we have been together. (We've been together, y'all.)
(Side we gave each other.) (Yeah, yeah.)
We have come a long way. (Long way.)
(Long way, girl.
Yeah, yeah.)
Everlasting love.

(Like birds of a feather, we flock together,
Let's rock together, wants to stop, yes, forever.
Just only really buiding this fate, teens forever; (?)
Seasons change, you know you can't change the weather.
One by one, side by side we stand,
Forever in your arms, together in hands.
Life's like a rollercoaster ride: the second you're high,
Yeah, you really try, you get down with your pride.)

It was cold that night
When you came into my troublesome life.
Everything's alright,
Now that we have each other,
Together and forever.

II. SAY "I GOTTA BELIEVE!"

This is the song that is unlocked when you beat Vs. CPU Mode on all four
difficulty levels, especially Yellow Difficulty Level 4. Performed by U.S. rap
artists De La Soul featuring Japan's R&B singer Double (stage name for Takako
Hirasawa).

(Double in background)
[Pos] Let me hear you say "Alright!"
[All] ALRIGHT! (Alright)
[Dove] Let me hear you say "Oh yeah!"
[All] OH YEAH!
[Pos] Now let me hear you say "Whatcha gonna do??"
[All] WHATCHA GONNA DO??
[Dove] I need to hear you say you gotta believe!
[All] I GOTTA BELIEVE! (Gotta believe)

(Verse 1)
[Pos]
It was all a dream but fulfilled before,
You need to come on back, Jack!
Look who walked in the door.
It's PaRappa the Rapper, and my name is Pos.
I'm known to MC, for free or a cause.
If you be at the malls under God's church, (?)
Drop to your knees and pray for PaRappa the Rapper
To save the day,
And make you scream "Hooray!"
Just clappin' on time, 'cause it's time to play!

[Double]
I know you're slick and smooth,
Good with an attitude.
On the right track,
Later on the fact, think about
Never looking back.
You know,
My worth was satisfied,
What I haven't known, deep inside of me,
And all I need is my security.

Break 1: Pos
When you need a foremission, he's got your back.
Sure to have a cool time, man, that's a fact.
Yo, he's a good friend, never ever a foe,
So come on and let's go!

(Verse 2)
[Dove]
We oughta concentrate on Vitamin D, with the title
Hookin' it up, speed quick, like noodles in cups.
It ain't nothin' for the one man
Buttin' to move somethin',
Runnin' Parappa through laps,
Huddlin' raps,
And just when you thought your game was bad,
Well, we got you cookin' out rhymes,
All in your thing ghetto.
Proceed and click
The next level for fun, player.
Play ya game,
Player number one! (One...)

[Double]
True love
That speaks the truth,
You know it'll help me through.
In the cold night,
In the morning, all night,
Or even in a fight.
You know
You should come home to me.
We could have fun
Until the early morning light.

(Verse 3)
[Pos]
It'll serve up a dish like Sunny Chan.
You know I'm the man,
Here to have fun.
Wanna have a taste?
Here, have some.
Servin' up O's by the oodles.
Oh, I forgot.
PaRappa the Rapper, he don't like noodles.
We like eating snapadash red,
Freestyle from the top of the head.
Yo, Parappa's got skill.
(Why don't you give it a try?) See what you can build,
Pacing life through, that's pills.
Watch your heels, you might slip and fall,
And if you do, you know who to call: (Who?)
It's PaRappa the Rapper and De La, y'all!

Bridge: Double
You and me
Can walk together
And on the road
Forever.
And so I touch
The treasures of life
Every day.
Love and hate,
A face to face it through.
In fact, I got
Your back every day.
Uh huh.
Uh huh, uh huh. (Oh yeah, yay!)

(Verse 4)
[Dove]
Watch you turn on your 36 inches,
You in the boob tube, trapped deep
'Til the game watch you sleep.
Overdosed on, moved, taught by the sensei.
Your timing's all off, tiger.
You in the little leagues, striking at a De La joint,
Bunk a sessions for the plugs and pea data.
Come train your camp, y'all.
Mooselini, graffiti, tag and plug dose
Dose, dose.
Game over, I'm ghost, ghost, ghost.

Break 2: Pos
When you need a foremission, he's got your back.
Sure to have a cool time, man, that's a fact.
Yo, he's a good friend, never ever a foe.
Come on, everybody, sing along, let's go...

(Double in background)
[Pos] All my peoples say "Alright!"
[All] ALRIGHT!
[Dove] Yeah, that was good.
Now let me hear you say "Oh yeah!"
[All] OH YEAH! (Oh yeah)
[Pos] Now let me hear you say "Whatcha gonna do??"
[All] WHATCHA GONNA DO??
[Dove] Come on, y'all,
Let me hear you say "I gotta believe!!"
[All] I GOTTA BELIEVE!! (Gotta believe)
[Double] Oh yeah.
         Oh yeah.
         Oh yeah.
         Oh yeah-i-yay.

************************************************
*4.2. Cool Mode and Game Over Scripts (PENDING)*
************************************************

Of course, not every game is flawless in performance, as there is something
that's very different from any video game: not only has "PaRappa the Rapper 2"
got a Performance Meter of the four modes of Cool, Good, Bad, and Awful like
the PaRappa series, but there is a brief scene that tells you how good or bad
you performed, depending on the rise or drop halfway in between each mode, and
you need to get your Performance Meter to stay at Good Mode. If you mess up
two times, your mode will drop to Bad; and all the while in many stages noodles
may start to approach, and the stage teacher will say "Getting worse," and have
the song go back two lines, which may get altered to make them easier to play,
while the music may turn a bit degrading and sloppy. If you mess up again
twice, the mode will drop to Awful, and this is where the scene turns uglier
and the music will get sloppier, and the lines get pushed back and changed
again, making you feel more like a super-beginner (to quote Chop Chop Master
Onion from Parappa 1). That's why you need to rap well in order to get the
Performance Meter up to Good Mode again (the teacher will say "Getting better!"
once the meter rises back up one mode). If the meter dips below Awful, or if
you have finished the song on Bad or Awful Mode, then the game is over, and you
have to start over again.

On the other hand, if you somehow manage to get the Performance Meter to Cool
Mode, something wonderful will happen: the teachers will leave you to do your
own freestyling, and cool scenery will occur, and it will end either if you
mess up or if you play on through to the very end. Unfortunately, there are
too few stages that have the Game Over Scripts with the Bad and Awful Modes
intact on YouTube, so I may have to present only the Cool Mode Scripts in all
eight stages (and some of the Game Over ones) until I can find a way to get
the Game Over ones as well. If anyone knows all the Game Over Scripts, please
contact me by e-mail, okay?

Please be warned, as there are many spoilers ahead!

~ i. Stage 1 ~

In this first stage, Parappa has to make burgers, fries, and drinks and serve
them to customers while being taught how by Beard Burger Master. However,
rather than explain detail by detail about the results that happen in either
Bad or Awful Mode, I will use a chart on this stage and all the rest of the
stages throughout to explain the events that happen should the Performance
Meter rise or decline to either mode or halfway in between.

If you manage to get the Performance Meter to Cool Mode, then Beard will stop
rapping about cooking and serving burgers, making puns, and other stuff as a
break music will sound.

Beard: I have nothing more to teach you. Let me rest in peace.

Then he will fly up to the heavens as Parappa waves him goodbye and gets to do
some freestyling of his own, zipping along between each machine as he tries to
make the food to serve customers, either until he messes up twice and the scene
returns to Good Mode again, or until the song finishes, at which point Beard
will materialize and return to wave to the cheering crowds.

Beard: Yeah, yeah, yeah! You da man! You da man! You da man! Terrifica!!!

Parappa (holding the burgers near the customers and PJ): That was a party, and
I feel fine!

He juggles the burgers while he speaks and gives out a smile as the scene ends.

~ ii. Stage 2 ~

In this stage, Parappa, accompanied by PJ, has to follow the moves of Chop Chop
Master Onion in his own TV show called "Romantic Karate" while presumably
waiting for Papa Parappa and General Potter to come back (unaware that both
fathers have been shrunk down to size in the first place! :S).

If you manage to get the Performance Meter to Cool Mode, then Chop Chop will
stop rapping and dancing with the Tamanegi woman as a break music will sound.

Chop Chop: Ichi, ni, san. Now it's your turn, show me freestyle! ["Ichi, ni,
san" is Japanese for "one, two, three," which the subtitle puts in as numerals]

While Chop Chop speaks, Parappa and PJ are suddenly sent to an episode of
"Romantic Karate", and the former is left by himself to do the freestyling with
the latter, sometimes hugging PJ in between, either until he messes up twice
and the scene returns to Good Mode again, at which point they will return to
the living room of Parappa's house in disappointment:

Chop Chop (O.C.): How did you do?? Not good??

Scene will return to the TV screen with Chop Chop continuing.

Chop Chop (moves his eyebrows): Let's continue.

...or until the song finishes with a "HiyyyyyyatatatatttCHHHHHAAAAHHH!!!" from
Chop Chop, all the while the duo will mimic his call, and he will reappear in
front of the screen near the duo as the applause breaks out.

Chop Chop (waves): Congratulations, hallelujah, banzai tree! You are the best.
See you again on Romantic Karate!

Parappa: So this is romantic...

He and PJ will strike a bowing pose and smile between the waving woman and Chop
Chop and the scene will end.

~ iii. Stage 3 ~

In this stage, Parappa has to do the right groove with Guru Ant in order to
become big again along with his entire gang of friends and families. However,
unlike the previous stages (and the remaining stages afterward), this stage
consists of two (count 'em, TWO!) parts: the Ground Level part and the Sky
Level part. So I will be doing both Performance Meter event charts, one for
each part, starting with...

PART 1: Ground Level

During Lessons 1 and 3, Parappa and the gang are like tiny bugs as he attempts
to make grooves successfully in order to become big. Yet things may not be
what they seem when Guru Ant manipulates Ma-san into pressing the button on the
remote control...

--------------------------------------------------------------------

If you manage to get the Performance Meter to Cool Mode, a break music will
sound out as Guru Ant stops rapping and closes his eyes in his mellow state and
the camera spins around him.

Guru Ant (amazed): I can't take it no more, I need to get out of here, you're
on your own!

Then Parappa will suddenly grow big like magic, knocking him out of the picture
and getting literally tall as he goes into the Sky Level and gets to do some
freestyling of his own across the galaxy, sometimes while the camera goes
around the earth in upside-down mode before turning right-side up again, either
until he messes up twice and the scene returns to Good Mode again, or until the
song finishes, as I will explain later, right after I finish...

PART 2: Sky Level

In Lessons 2 and 4, Parappa and Guru Ant are hit by the unfinished de-noodlizer
and grow up to gigantic size, with their legs literally taller than Parappa's
house, until they reach the galaxy with both of them on top of the planet, and
Parappa has to follow the raps of Guru Ant just right in order to make them
both small again.

If you manage to get the Performance Meter to Cool Mode, a break music will
sound out as Guru Ant stops rapping and closes his eyes in his mellow state and
the camera spins around him, just like in the Ground Level.

Guru Ant (amazed): I can't take it no more, I need to get out of here, you're
on your own!

This time, he will fly away, and Parappa will wave him goodbye before he gets
to do some freestyling of his own, with the camera doing the same movements
across the galaxy like in Ground Level, either until he messes up twice and the
scene returns to Good Mode again, or until the song finishes, at which point
the scene will cut to Ma-san in his living room on the chair, with the remote
control pointed at the screen as she is manipulated by Guru Ant's magic from
offscreen.

Guru Ant (O.C.): Now!

On his "Now!", the device's ray hits Parappa's literally tall legs before he
shrinks down and back through the roof, into his house, and this time, he is
normal-sized again, with Guru Ant about the same size as Parappa behind her,
and the applause breaks out as Parappa's gang becomes normal-sized again, with
Guru Ant smiling at him and jumping in joy along with them.

Guru Ant: My oh my. You've grown to be a fine young man.

Parappa: You too, teacher. You've grown too!

Guru Ant becomes surprised and looks at the new area around him before the
scene ends.

~ iv. Stage 4 ~

In the Special Armed Forces Training Camp, Parappa has to follow the groovy rap
of Instructor Moosesha while going through the obstacle courses of jumping
rope, inline roller-skating, bike-riding up ramps and mountain-climbing before
making a recap "from the ground."

If you have finished the song on Bad or Awful Mode or the meter dips below
Awful, the noodles will completely wreck the training camp, and the degrading
music comes to a stop as Moosesha gets angry as she raises her hand in a "talk
to the hand" manner.

Moosesha: You're the worst. Come back next year, why don't you??

Parappa: What?!

He raises his hand in disappointment.

If, on the other hand, you have managed to get the Performance Meter to Cool
Mode, then she will stop the rap with a break music.

Moosesha: Hey, hey, you sure know how to train! I have nothing to teach you no
more!

She will then get tossed in a wind-blown parachute and fly off after she says
this.

Moosesha: AHH!! AHH!! AHH!!

As soon as she is up in the sky, Parappa gets to do some freestyling of his own
all the while hovering over the mountain and doing some obstacle course
activities there, either until he messes up and the scene returns to Good Mode
again, or until the song finishes, at which point Moosesha will be sitting at
the summit with Parappa to congratulate him.

Moosesha: You're the best I've ever seen! Let's take a picture!

Parappa: I'd be glad to! I feel fine!

This time, both make poses as a snapshot of them with Joe Chin and the spa lady
is made in a flash of light, and the scene ends.

~ v. Stage 5 ~

In the hair salon stage, Parappa has to follow the raps of the mind-controlled
Hairdresser Octopus while competing with him for the better hairstyle in order
to fix the noodle afros of everyone, including Lammy, Katy and Ma-san, under
the hypnotizing noodle music.

If you have finished the song on Bad or Awful Mode or the meter dips below
Awful, Hairdresser Octopus will get so angry that he will wave his hand in
disappointment.

Hairdresser Octopus: Hey, take that stupid hat off. What does it look like in
there?

Parappa (bows in disappointment): Aaa, I'm not sure myself.

If, on the other hand, you have managed to get the Performance Meter to Cool
Mode, then Hairdresser Octopus will stop rapping with a break music and become
astonished.

Hairdresser Octopus: CARAMBA! I hate it when there's a lot of hair on the
floor! Here, I'll go clean up!

While he speaks and leaves, a trap door opens up under the floor between him
and Parappa, and Lammy emerges as she is raised up, strapped to one of the
reclining chairs and smiling seemingly without her guitar again, and the circle
table lowers while the platform under Parappa is lifted up, leaving him to
groom her hair behind the standing hair customers as they dance around to the
beat, sometimes while she raises her hand, either until he messes up twice and
the scene returns to Good Mode again, or until the song finishes with Katy
stretching out her hands and Lammy becoming scared as they stand up and their
hair becomes normal again, and the music machine gets all smoked up and breaks
apart near them, frightening them both as Ma-san runs near them. Hairdresser
Octopus' appearance will soon change from his red, weird-eyed self, back to his
blue, normal appearance, and speak in a voice of astonishment.

Hairdresser Octopus: Woh, did you fix everyone's hair? I'm going to hire you
right now.

Parappa: Well, I'm not old enough.

He will jump in joy at the applause of the crowds, and the scene will end.

~ vi. Stage 6 ~

Parappa gets into a Food Court videogame (whose image is of a Commodore 64
game) and must beat the previous teachers he has met by tossing sweets at them
while rapping right and avoiding the noodles thrown at him (and avoiding the
terrible fate of those who can't clear the game and eat noodles for all
eternity... or at least until they die! X_X ).

If you have finished the song on Bad or Awful Mode or the meter dips below
Awful, then the Opponent's score will beat out Parappa's score as Parappa is
hit before the screen will fade away to black and the Game Boy music plays out
its final beats in a gloomy manner as the game screen reads "GAME OVER", and
computer words will appear below as the video game's voice speaks.

Food Court Game (V.O.): AS PROMISED,
ALL YOU CAN EAT FROM NOW ON ARE NOODLES ONLY.
AND IF YOU THINK THAT'S A BAD DEAL,
WHY DON'T YOU TRY IT AGAIN?

The game screen will shrink back to the console on Parappa, with Papa Parappa
standing next to him in disappointment behind PJ.

Parappa: Come on! Give it to me, teacher!

He bows down his head in shame.

If, on the other hand, you have managed to get the Performance Meter to Cool
Mode, then the game's graphics will upgrade into a complete PS2 version as the
video game's voice speaks.

Food Court Game (V.O.): The newest game with cutting edge technology, straight
to you. Check it out.

The game screen will show a full tennis court complete with the beautiful
sunset sky and the music will update itself like an SNES version. All five
teachers -- Beard Burger Master, Chop Chop Master Onion, Guru Ant, Instructor
Moosesha and Hairdresser Octopus (as the P2 Sensei All-Stars) -- will appear
standing and cheering for Parappa as he gets to do some freestyling of his own
while tossing out sweets at them like a snowball fight, either until he messes
up twice and the screen returns to a C64-like Good Mode again, or until the
song finishes, at which point the word "CLEAR" will appear on the screen in 3D,
and the game will shrink back to the virtual console that is still on Parappa,
who will jump in joy as the entire gang cheers and jumps along with him at his
success; the SNES fanfare music will sound out before there is a cheering
applause, and Papa Parappa smiles next to General Potter, too proud to even
speak.

Papa Parappa (puts his hands to his chest): Oh my... Parappa!!!

He will begin to cry and weep in tears of happiness, and his son Parappa will
look at him to see what's the matter.

Parappa: Dad? You OK??

Both father and son will extend out their hands to each other, and the scene
will end.

~ vii. Stage 7 ~

In the heart of the Noodle Syndicate Headquarters, Colonel Noodle (who turns
out to be Beard Burger Master's son all along) tries convincing Parappa and the
gang that noodles are the best and rule over all foods, while Parappa must
convince him otherwise, in a rap battle feud since... well, Biggie vs. Tupac,
or Jay-Z vs. Nas... whatever. XD

If you manage to get the Performance Meter to Cool Mode, then Noodle will get
overpowered by Parappa's astonishing performance and stop the rap, but not the
feud, with a break music.

Noodle: Alright, it's time for me to go brush my teeth.

He will turn and walk away while he speaks as Parappa will groove around.

Noodle: You better keep it up!

Then Parappa will get to do some freestyling of his own near the computer
monitors, chair, and desk (while his gang cheers him on), sometimes spelling
out "COOKIES", holding out a plate of noodles and drinking from a cup, and
giving out thought balloons of other foods, even when the DJ table breaks out
of the wall (to the awe of the gang), PJ Berri appears to disc-jockey at the
table, and the computer room blacks out for a few seconds before the
freestyling returns to normal; either until he messes up twice and the scene
returns to Good Mode again, or until the song finishes, after which PJ
will finish disc-jockeying in front of Parappa and Noodle (who has just
returned from brushing his teeth) as there is an applause from the gang.

Parappa (jumping in joy): Alright!! Now you can eat all the other great foods
in life!

Noodle (in exaltation): Oh yeah, thanks, man. I'm real hungry now! Let's see,
I can have... umm... ice cream, pasta, eh... sushi, burritos, bagels, steak,
lobster, burger... yeah! I can even have burgers!

While Noodle is still deciding on which foods to eat, the camera moves around
him and pulls to an aerial view of him, Parappa, and the gang before cutting
back to him, still muttering over what to do and mumbling on and on before he
stops while Parappa cheers, and the scene will finally end.

~ viii. Stage 8 ~

In this final stage, which is dubbed as the "Final Party", Parappa has to act
like a grown-up in order to rap like one and follow the rap of MC King Kong
Mushi, and make Sunny Funny and the rest of his gang proud.

If you manage to get the Performance Meter to Cool Mode, then King Kong Mushi
will stop the rap with a break music and make out a high squeal of glee.

King Kong Mushi: Hey now, look at Parappa and how he's become a MAN.

While he speaks, the stage platforms will rise, and Parappa will suddenly get
tied to a yellow balloon on the back of his shirt and float off the stage.

King Kong Mushi (O.C.): Enjoy the show.

Then Parappa will get to do some freestyling of his own and wow the entire
audience below him while floating around in circles, and the neon lights will
sometimes shine on him, either until he messes up twice and the scene returns
to Good Mode again, or until the song finishes, at which point the camera will
cut to the entire audience in cheers of applause before cutting to King Kong
Mushi, who becomes very proud of Parappa as he floats back down.

King Kong Mushi: Wow! Now this was surely a night to remember.

Parappa: It sure was! I'll never forget tonight! Right, everybody??

As he speaks, the camera will slowly pull away from him and the gang to a far-
off view of the audience cheering out in applause before the scene slowly fades
to black. But just when you thought the game was over, surprise! The scene
returns, this time, to a diagonal split-screen mode, with Parappa looking at
the audience, as if they are demanding an encore. This time, an instrumental
version of "Always Love!" plays again, and the audience claps along to the beat
of the rap song with an extended "Say Alright!" session of his own that lasts
for about a minute, with the teachers -- Beard Burger Master, Chop Chop Master
Onion, Guru Ant, Instructor Moosesha, Hairdresser Octopus, Colonel Noodle, and
King Kong Mushi -- giving out a call-and-response motive with the audience.
When the song finally ends, Noodle will jump in joy, before the camera moves up
to Parappa, Lammy, Katy, King King Mushi, Ma-san and PJ, and the rest of the
teachers extending out their thanks to the audience; moving along in a circle
in an aerial view before going to a far-off view as the audience cheers once
again. After that, the scene will finally fade to black for the last time.

# 5. Game Differences #

**********************************************************
*5.1. Differences Between the U.S. and Japan/PAL Versions*
**********************************************************

Now that you have played PaRappa the Rapper 2, I have to ask you one thing: Did
you ever play the game in the U.S. in 2002 when you were little and yet not
realize that it is the censored version of the original one? :P Well, for
those of you who have read the script, I will now explain in detail why the
U.S. version of the game is a bit different from the Japan or PAL versions.
Remember, like I said, where Um Jammer Lammy had been heavily hit by U.S.
censorship, PaRappa 2 was moderately slapped in the face by the same censorship
of the ESRB. So here's my terminology to help you out:

U.S.: Applies to the U.S. version.
Orig.: Original, applies to both the Japan and PAL versions.
(G.A./P.): Lyrics that start off with with Guru Ant first and then Parappa,
with the pronoun switch, which will be used only in Stages 3 and 6. Example:
"Better believe it, (my/your) mind is like a demon." means that Guru Ant will
rap, "Better believe it, my mind is like a demon." before Parappa follows with
"Better believe it, your mind is like a demon."

So let's start off with...

I. STAGE 1: TOASTY BUNS

So far there is nothing new or different, apart from the mild suggestive lyrics
and mild sexual humor (e.g., "You got to... heat the grill. Mmmph! Yeah,
don't stop. Toast the buns. My buns are very toasty," "Serve the drinks.
Serve 'em! C'mon, hurry up! And melt the cheese. OW! Mmph! Heh heh heh...
French the fries. French them," "C'mon and watch them fries. I'm not
kidding."). However, check out the first part of Lesson 4, and there is a
slight difference in both versions of the rap song after the lyric that starts
off with: "Burgers, burgers is all we have in mind..."

U.S.: ...we cook the best! You better get in line.
Orig.: ...we cook the best! Taste better than wine.

The reason for this difference is that the U.S. didn't want children to know
what wine tastes like or let a game like PaRappa 2 try to promote wine or
alcohol to minors (those under 18), since "wine" is an "Alcohol Reference" that
was too intense for an "Everyone" rating. So instead, SCEA and NanaOn-Sha had
to rewrite the lyric for another word that rhymes with "mind" and with "wine"
too, and then had Ethan Eubanks reprise his rapping role as Beard Burger
Master. However, take a look at Beard's mouth movement in Lesson 4 that gives
it away: although the altered lyric and the voice overdub say, "You better get
in line," Beard's mouth clearly says, "Taste better than wine," from the
original lyric, which makes you understand why his mouth is so out of sync with
the new words in the U.S. version. O_O But whatever, moving right along...

II. STAGE 3: BIG

Here's another song that may look like nothing different... well, apart from
the fact that the lyric "Better believe it, (my/your) mind is like a demon" is
left intact in the song, even though "demon" refers to the devil. And here I
thought the "devil" references were removed from the song "Taste of Teriyaki"
(either Lammy's or Parappa's versions) in "Um Jammer Lammy", yet why they kept
the word "demon" in PaRappa 2 is beyond me. However, there is one slight
lyrical difference in both versions of the song, and it's right after "(my/
your) mind is like a demon":

U.S.: (I am/You are) the man, everybody knows (my/your) name.
Orig.: (I am/You are) the lord, everybody knows (my/your) name.

Another reason for the difference is that, like I mentioned above in the
Introduction, the ESRB and the U.S. thought that Guru Ant was blasphemous,
since he called himself "lord", which is a reference to provocative religion as
a "Suggestive Theme", and tried to have him removed from the game; but Masaya
Matsuura of NanaOn-Sha tried to defend the Guru Ant character by saying that
Guru Ant's proclamation of himself as "lord" is a sort of hero-worship that
would make everyone get his attention and have them know and love him, sort of
like "Ozzy Is God" for Ozzy Osbourne, I believe. Anyway, to defend the Guru
Ant character while keeping the "Everyone" rating at the same time, SCEA and
NanaOn-Sha had to make a slight change to the lyric by removing the blasphemy
from the hero-worship and rewriting said hero-worship by having him proclaim
himself to be "the man", as in "You da man! You da man!" :D Afterwards, they
had Dean Bowman and John Simpson III reprise their roles in the toned-down rap
song. And yet, here's another thing about Guru Ant and Parappa that gives it
away if you look closely: their mouths! That means that although the alternate
lyric and Guru Ant's and Parappa's overdubs say "man", their lips say "lord"
from the original lyric, another reason why their mouths are so out of sync
with the new lyric in the U.S. version. Anyways, moving right along...

III. STAGE 5: HAIR SCARE

Nothing much, except you should pay attention to Lesson 1 of the song. If you
already have the U.S. version of the game, notice that while Hairdresser
Octopus and Parappa start the rap with "Snip snip, trim trim, etc.", if you
have the subtitles on, there is a warning located at the bottom part of the
subtitle box, which accompanies the lyrics, and it says, "(Kids, don't try this
at home!)" Of course, that is excluded in the Japan/PAL version of the game.
The reason for the difference is that the U.S. and the ESRB didn't want
children to play a game that would make them do something dangerous while
making haircuts in real life, because children are too young to make haircuts,
and making wrong moves in haircuts would cause damage to people, just like the
original song in Paul Chuck's stage of Um Jammer Lammy would make children do
something destructive in cutting down trees for fun and damaging Mother Nature.
So instead, SCEA and NanaOn-Sha had to add the "don't try this at home" warning
to the bottom part of the subtitle box to accompany the Lesson 1 lyrics that
start with "Snip snip" and make it last throughout the whole lesson. For me, I
believe it's there for a good laugh and distraction while trying to make it
through with careful button presses. :D Moving right along...

IV. STAGE 6: FOOD COURT

Now we get to the final part of the stage difference in both versions of the
game, and that would be "Food Court". Now you thought that playing through the
Food Court videogame would be a bit hard, but at least the song would be
normal, right? Well, you'd be thinking wrong. When Parappa and Beard Burger
Master are about to face on each other, this is where the lyrical difference
between both versions occurs, and it's right on the very first part of the
button sequence of Lesson 1:

U.S.: Cut the lettuce, (THROW) toast the buns.
Orig.: Cut the lettuce, (THROW) warm the buns.

Reason for the difference? Well, in the original Japan version, Stage 1 had
Beard rapping "Toast the buns" a few times, yet in this stage he rapped "Warm
the buns" along with Parappa. The U.S. and ESRB believed that "Warm the buns"
wouldn't fit in with the Stage 1 song "Toasty Buns", because no one would think
of what warming the buns would look like and it would be too sexual. So
instead, SCEA and NanaOn-Sha had to rewrite the lyric to make the Stage 6 rap
sound the same as in Stage 1. Well, at least they left in "Serve the patties"
in this rap. But anyway, once again, Ethan Eubanks and John Simpson III were
summoned to reprise their roles in the alternate first part of the rap. But
unlike Stages 1 and 3, this time, you can't tell their mouth movements
differently because of the blocky Commodore 64 graphics in the Food Court game.
What a pity. :( However, that's not all to the rap, because there is one more
lyrical difference left to locate, and that would be Lesson 3, when Parappa has
to face Guru Ant. Take a look at the second part of the button sequence
between "Pull the lever or whatever, etc." and "Put (me/you) back, son...":

 U.S.: (I am/You are) the man, (you/we) all know (my/your) name? (NOW) (I/You)
got it all, cash, money and fame.
Orig.: (I am/You are) the lord, (you/we) all know (my/your) name? (NOW) (I/You)
got it all, cash, money and fame.

The reason for the difference is pretty much the same as Stage 3: proclaiming
oneself as "lord" was considered blasphemous for the U.S. and too intense for
the "Everyone" rating. Once again the lyric was changed. And once again, not
only did Eubanks and Simpson reprise their role, but Dean Bowman was summoned
once again to reprise his role as Guru Ant for the altered lyric. I suppose
that all of these were good enough to try and make it safe for children, huh?
:)

***********************************************************
*5.2. Differences Between the Game and Soundtrack Versions*
***********************************************************

You thought that I was finished with the differences between the U.S. version
and the Japan/PAL version, right? Wrong. Well, I suppose I can give you an
explanation of the differences between the game version and the soundtrack
version. First off is the Stage 1 rap song "Toasty Buns". Besides the fact
that it has the original lyric of "Taste better than wine" like the Japan/PAL
version of the game, there seems to be a slight difference in the "French the
fries" bit. In the game version, Beard Burger Master says, "French them"
before Parappa raps "French the fries", with a bit of a silence before the
lyric "Sweep the floor." In the soundtrack version, however, Beard says,
"French them" *after* Parappa raps "French the fries" before moving on to
"Sweep the floor." Now hearing Beard say "French them" before Parappa follows
with "French the fries" is okay in the game, but hearing Beard say "French
them" after Parappa's rap? It doesn't make any sense to me. :P

The second one is the Stage 6 rap song "Food Court". Now I don't know if there
is a difference in the first part of Lesson 1 in the game version, but I'm
pretty sure that it was Beard's first line of "Cut the lettuce, (THROW) warm
the buns", instead of "Cut the lettuce, (THROW) toast the buns" like in the
U.S. game version... unless I'm pretty much mistaken. If anyone has played the
Japan or PAL versions of the game, please contact me by e-mail to make sure,
okay?

The final part of all is the Stage 8 rap song, "Always Love!" Now this song in
the soundtrack version may sound the same as in the game version. However, the
only thing different about the rap song itself is its time and length. While
the game version of the song lasts until 3:56 (about nearly four minutes), the
soundtrack version of the song lasts until 5:02 (yes, about five minutes)! Now
I know what you're thinking: "Wait a minute! I thought the song was over in
four minutes in the game like in the soundtrack!" Well, let me tell you
something, kid, you're thinking wrong. Between the game and soundtrack
versions, there is an extension of the song that lasts for one minute and six
seconds (1:06). Don't believe me? Let's take a look at the comparisons of the
game and soundtrack versions in time lengths, at the 3:50 mark, after the lyric
"Like Parappa, you gotta believe!!" In the game version, during Lesson 5, at
the 2:57 mark, the "Say HO!"/"Say Alright!" session is sounded only once,
having the song end in about a minute. In the soundtrack version, at the 2:57
mark, the same "Say HO!"/"Say Alright!" session sounds out only once, and you
thought the song would end. But then at the 3:50 mark, the soundtrack will act
as if Parappa had finished the rap at Cool Mode, because the song will play
again, and the extended "Say Alright!" session will sound out again, but in an
automatic way instead of a manual way like in the game, as Parappa will shout
out:

 Parappa: Say Alright!
Everyone: Alright!
 Parappa: Say Oh yeah!
Everyone: Oh yeah!
 Parappa: Whatcha gonna do??
Everyone: Whatcha gonna do??
 Parappa: I gotta believe!!
Everyone: I gotta believe!! (x4)

Then the song will end again, as Parappa and the gang will thank the cheering
audience before it will finally fade out and end at 5:02.

And there you have it. That wraps up my explanation for the differences
between the U.S. and the Japan/PAL versions of the game, and for the
differences between the game and soundtrack versions of the rap songs from
PaRappa 2. If you are still curious and want to play both versions of the game
along with the game soundtrack, then let me tell you that all of these versions
are pretty much rare, and can be hard to come by, so if you happen to find both
versions on either Amazon or eBay (or in some rare classic video game store)
along with the soundtrack, I suggest you buy them all and play them just for a
little experimentation. Believe me, you'll be surprised to find that
experimenting both versions and the soundtrack with song differences can be
quite fun to come by! ^_^
