(14,3KB) I need to find a better lay-out for the walkthrough. Hopefully I'll have it fixed in the next version of the guide. ============================================================================== Introduction [OS.02.01] ============================================================================== "In Odin Sphere, players enact the story of their world's end. A great kingdom named Valentine was brought apart by natural disaster and internal strife. As war broke out, the once-great nation became a wasteland. As a demon lord named Odin schemes to conquer it, a far-off sorceror plans to use ancient magic that will bring an apocalypse. As the nations struggle for control, the world steadily slips unknowingly toward its demise, ancient prophecies are ready to be fulfilled -- unless a young princess named Gwendolyn can stop the bloody feud between nations and fight for unity." ============================================================================== Walkthrough Valkyrie [OS.03.01] ============================================================================== For each chapter, I'll make a map. Please check either www.grawl.nl for these. I might refer to them. As you start the game, you will have to set up a few things - difficulty and the language of the voices dialogue. A small girl and a cat will appear on screen. Pick up the book on the floor (Valkyrie) and press 'X' to start the story. ------------------------------------------------------------------------------ Prelude [OS.03.02] ------------------------------------------------------------------------------ -- Prelude Act 1: Storming Battlefields You will see an army strike down, two big monsters fighting and more troops arriving. It's war. Gwendolyn finds Griselda, who's nearly dead. You will get her spear though. Gwendolyn swears she'll soon join her sister. A suicidal character, how lovely. After some talking, Griselda will die and it's time to let the opposing army pay for their actions. A dwarf will state they lost the battle, and the Shadow Knight shows up. Gwendolyn says she'll fight him, but will lose. He doesn't kill her though, he just runs away. So will Gwendolyn. -- Prelude Act 2: Storming Battlefields It's time for a tutorial. Joy! Move with the analog stick or the D-pad and attack using '[]'. Press '[]' 4 times to perform a combo. You can jump into the air using 'X'. While in the air, and pressing 'X' another time, will make you glide. When you press down and '[]' while gliding, you will do a dive attack. Hold '[]' to guard. An enemy will attack. Kill the poor guy and he game will make you lose all your Power. When this happens, you'll be stunned for a couple of seconds. You will lose Power when attacking. Keep on eye on this one. Another guy shows up. Hit him and you'll note two pink dots floating around. These are called Phozons. Use 'R1' to absorb them. Kill the enemies that come, until the game tells you to perform a special attack. Press '^' and then select 'Cyclone' to do so. If you can't, just collect more Phozons. A note will drop on the floor ('What are Phozons?'). Press down to pick it up and read it. You can re-read it at any time by pressing 'Start'. Also pick up the note 'Psyphers'. Grab the Mulberry. You can use this to heal yourself in battle. Press '()' and then 'X' to eat the Mulberry. After that, grab the note 'the Essence of Food'. Bored yet? We'll keep going either way, I was just asking out of interest. Grab the Mulberry Seed. To plant it, press '()' and then 'X'. Defeat the enemies. You will note the plant absorbs the Phozons in order to grow. It's time to end this stage. Defeat the enemy to do so. After each stage you will get a chest. Attack it four times to open it. Inside is some money, the notes 'Treasure' and 'Psyphers Part 2'. To exit the stage, stand near the 'Exit' sign and press up and 'X'. -- Prelude Act 3: Demon Lord's Throne Note the big guy? That's King Odin. Gwendolyn will tell the King her sister (and thus the daughter of the King) died. You can keep the spear. Which is nice, isn't it? King Odin will launch another assault and go fight himself. Gwendolyn is sad the King doesn't say more about Griselda, but the King says there's no time for that. ------------------------------------------------------------------------------ Chapter 1 [OS.03.03] ------------------------------------------------------------------------------ -- Chapter 1, Act 1: Demon Lord's Throne Talk with everyone as you go to the right side of the room (it doesn't loop). Note the beautiful music. At the end you'll find a vendor. /----------------------\ I suggest buying 2 or 3 Hot Cross Buns. In order | Mulberry Seed - 5G | to pay, select a coain and press up. You can see what | Hot Cross Bun - 5G | you are giving and will get back in the upper right | Speed Belt - 5G | corner of the screen. | Draw Ring - 5G | | Saturn Bandle - 10G | Exit the map when you are ready. You can now browse | Star Pendant - 10G | around the world map. Just select 'Raging \----------------------/ Battlegrounds' and continue. -- Chapter 1, Act 2: Demon Lord's Castle The troops will move out. You will stay behind, and a bird shows up. It'll try to play with your mind, and succeeds. The bird represents your innermost thoughts. Seems your motives to fight, is to become loved. Sounds fair enough. -- Chapter 1, Act 3: Frontlines of the Cauldron War Attack the enemies that appear and exit. Nothing hard here. Reward: Note 'Seeds & Cultivation', Mulberry, Mulberry Seed You will have to deal with flying enemies here. Either glide and attack them, or hold up and press '[]' to attack them. Reward: Money, Map, Mulberry Seed, Napalm This map will have lots of soldiers. First find the butterfly and drain it using 'R1'. Then use your Cyclone attack to get rid of the soldiers. Reward: Note 'Spotting Butterflies', 'Hot Cross Bun', 'Toxin' /--------------------\ I suggest going to the right first, so you can battle | Mulberry Seed - 5G | the mini-boss and gain some experience. The game gives | Hot Cross Bun - 5G | you a Napalm, but I don't suggest using it. The attacks | Power Stone - 15G | of the mini-boss are easy to predict. He may jump up, | Lucky Stone - 15G | and attack you from above, just try to hit you, or rush | Spirit Stone - 15G | towards you. If you do a combo of 4 attacks, then walk \--------------------/ away you can see what he'll do and act accordingly. Reward: Money, Rosemile, Hot Cross Bun Return to the Shop-map and this time head left. You will have to defeat a horde of flying enemies. No big deal. Hit them all, so they get down to the ground and finish them off. Reward: Money, Mulberry Seed First head left, since this is a side-path. Reward: Rosemile, Lucky Mix, Mulberry Seed Head back to the right, and this time go down. You will have to battle some enemies, even though you just cleared the map. When you get there, it's time for another mini-boss fight. Use the same tactic as before to easily win this one. Reward: Money, Rosemile, Mulberry Seed, Toxin Head left for a hard map. Hard, but fun. You will have to deal with quite a few soldiers and fearies. Take them down, and the Ancient Crystal is yours. Equip it. When you fall in battle, it'll revive you. Reward: Ancient Crystal Head back to the boss-map and go right for a shop. /---------------------\ | Mulberry Seed - 5G | | Hot Cross Bun - 5G | | Speed Belt - 5G | | Draw Ring - 5G | | Saturn Bangle - 10G | | Star Pendant - 10G | | Shield Ring - 10G | \---------------------/ Take a right for the last 'normal' map. Reward: Money, Note 'the Art of War', Regeneration, Painkiller -- Chapter 1, Act 4: Vanir Forward Headquarters It seems you are doing well. A soldier reports they are getting beaten up. Afterwards you show up, and threaten to end it. Seems like you will first have to kill a tiny dragon though. -- Chapter 1, Act 5: Raging Dragon, Belial It's not really hard though, if you didn't use the Napalms and Toxins. Use them first to lower its health. The dragon will throw things at you, and try to eat you. Run away from it, so you loop all the way around and get behind its back. From there, attack. If it turns around, run the other way, until you are behind it again. If you keep doing this, you will kill him easily. If you want to get some extra money, don't use items at all. You can sell the Napalms, or save them for alchemy later. -- Chapter 1, Act 6: The Cauldron King Odin will appear. He'll find the Cauldron, but it doesn't seem to be working as it should. You will get near the Cauldron, and find a woman. She is responsible for taking out the Cauldron. ------------------------------------------------------------------------------ Chapter 2 [OS.03.04] ------------------------------------------------------------------------------ Coming soon. ============================================================================== FAQ [OS.04.01] ============================================================================== Q: Bla bla bla?
