^(If you have seen "True Naruto Style", you know what this means...)
Okay, I would like to welcome you all to my first FAQ/Guide ever!
one thing you need to know before we begin. This FAQ assumes that you
are playing the US Ver. of Naruto: Narutimate Hero; otherwise known
as Naruto: Ultimate Ninja. If you are usig the import version, I will
be discussing all the changes that I know. If anyone has a list of
the original names of all the Jutsus, I would gladly appriciate it.
Anyone who contributes to the FAQ will get the proper credits.
Now, without further ado, let's begin class.

Chapter 2) Game Info - Everything you need to know, and more.

A- Changes from Narutimate Hero
These are all the changes that I know of:
- Opening Video is just the US Anime's 2nd Opening Sequence
- US Dub Voices, expected; there is no JPN voice option like in some of
the DBZ fighters.
- No password option in Naruto's House
- Kyuubi Naruto & Cursed Seal Sauske are treated as 2 completely
different characters. You CAN NOT transform into them like you could
in Narutimate Hero
- Naruto and Sasuke's Lv. 2 & 3 Secret Techniques lose their final phase
due to Kyuubi and CS being treated as seperate characters
- Basic name changes: Sabaku no Garra > Garra; Kyuubi Naruto > Nine Taled

Down: Charge Chakra
C- Advanced Techniques (Things you should know)
Dash: Tap the X Button twice. First few frames will deflect any
Kunai or Shuriken.
Kawarimi no Jutsu (Substitution Jutsu): Tap the L2 or R2 Button just
before your enemy's attack connects to turn into a log and appear
behind your enemy. Grabs can be avoided in this way with perfect
timing. If you want to be a high level player, you MUST know how to
do this.
Additional Hits: These are the hits done when you hit your opponent
into the air and time slows down. To avoid these hits when this
happens, hit O while holding the analog stick or D-Pad towards
your enemy. This can repeated as many times as possible. Every time
someone dodges one of these hits in this way, the speed increases
making it harder to dodge.
Special Ability: Some characters have a special ability that actiates
whenever you perform a certain level Ougi. Each ability will be
described in their character's description.
Support Characters: Each character has a support character. When you
approach your support character, he or she will drop a item for you
to use. You can hit your opponent's support character and make them
disappear. The item can be a Ninja Tool, a modifier, an instant-use
item, or a health boost. Each Ninja Tool will be described later.
Foreground/Background Shift: Tap Up + X to jump to the background.
Tap Down + X to jump to the foreground. Use this technique when you
want to chase your enemy or to reach your Support Character or want
to hit your opponent's Support Character.
Stage Shift: Sometimes you will see this, "Up + X", on the screen.
When this appears below your character's name, if you press it you
and your opponent will change areas. Each area has one area used for
Stage Shift. These pairs will be explained in the Locations section.
Counts: The time in this game is not in actual seconds, it is in
"counts." Each count is approximately 3 seconds long.
Secret Scrolls: Each area has 1 Secret Scroll. To obtain it, you must
do something specific in each area. Collect all the Secret Scrolls
to complete an S-Rank Mission. Each area's requirements will be
explained in the Locations section
Ninja Tools: These are all the Ninja Tools and their uses:
The Weight of Gut: Slows down enemy upon contact.
Support Item: Calls your Support Character to perform an attack on
the enemy.
Special Ninja Tool: Special throwing weapon.
Scroll of Instant Body: Appear directly behing your enemy.

Shoes of Jonin: Speed Up
Food Pills: Attack Power Increase
Scroll of Hidden Cloud: Turns weilder invisible. You can still see an
outline of the character.
Kakashi Doll: Whenever your enemy tries to hit you while this is
active, you will automatically use Kawarimi no Jutsu (Substitution
Jutsu) for a set period of time..

Chapter 3) Main Menu - Choose your poison...

Scenario Mode- Play through the story with your favorite character as
the hero. This is the mode where you unlock most of the characters.
Once you unlock a new character, you clear their story to unlock them
for all modes.
Mission Mode- Clear missions to earn more Ryo and advance up the
ranks to unlock the other two Capsule Machines in the shop. It's best
to unlock all characters in Scenario mode before attempting to finish
Mission Mode. You will unlock 2 characters in Mission Mode.
Practice Mode- Practice all your moves and Jutsu on a helpless dummy
in the form of any character you have unlocked so far. Use this mode
to find all the Secret Scrolls and Complete 2 S-Rank Missions.
Free Battle Mode: This is the mode where you fight against the CPU or
another human player.
You will complete 2 S-Rank missions using this mode.
Naruto's House: This is the Options Menu. Here you can change basic
options and view items obtained in the shop and your S-Rank Mission
Completion Scrolls. A Full list of all items will be in the Naruto's
House section.
Shop: This is where you buy items from one of three capsule machines.
You start the game with only one open Capsule Machine. The three
Capsule Machines will be explained in more detail in the Shop
section.
Is it just me, or does Naruto carry the weight of the entire game on
his shoulders? I mean, look at him suffering having to carry all
those scrolls...

have listed their basic moves, their Jutsus, their Ougis (Secret
Techniques) and the commands for every move/combo/Jutsu/Ougi. I also
add any important character information thet must be known when
playing as that character.
Note- All Moves assume that you are facing RIGHT. If facing Left,

control sand. Sharingan DOES NOT copy Ougis, only their basic moves,
Jutsu, and START-UP ANIMATIONS for Ougis. Not the actual Ougi itself.

Chapter 5) Locations - Location is everything

This is a brief description of each stage, how to obtain it's Secret
Scroll, and which stage each one swaps to from a Stage Swap.
Village Hidden In The Leaves - The hidden village that possesses the
ultimate Ninja army!!:
Ichiraku Ramen

Description: Battle in front and on top of the Ichiraku Ramen Shop.
Basic stage, no hazards.
Secret Scroll: Turn all the lanturns in the foreground red,
but DON'T BREAK THEM.
Stage Shift: Hokage's Mountainside Images

Description: Battle in front of the mountain. No special hazards, but
you can fall off of this area.
Secret Scroll: Jump on the tree on the left over and over until you
get the Scroll.
Stage Shift: Ichiraku Ramen

Description: Sunset battle in front of the Memorial Stone.
No hazards.
Secret Scroll: Hit the enemy's Support Character 5 times. Once each
time they appear.
Stage Shift: Survival Exercise Ground

Description: Battle where Team 7 had their training mission from
Kakashi. Water in Foreground.
Secret Scroll: Destroy the Dummies on the right until you get the
Scroll. Around 10 Dummies

Description: Sunset battle on watchtower. Battle starts in enclosed
area, Snake breathes fire. You can fall from here.
Secret Scroll: Jump from the Frog to the Snake and jump back.

Stage Shift: Chunin Exam: Exams Stadium
Chunin Exam: Exams Stadium

Description: Outside the stadium where the 3rd exam is held. A man
sometimes appears in the foreground and tries to put players to
sleep. Keep away from him.
Secret Scroll: Go into the tunnel from the left and exit on the right
three times to get the Scroll.

No. 44 Exercise Ground: The Forest of Death

Description: The stage of the 2nd Chunin Exam. Orochimaru's Snake
strikes from the Background.
Secret Scroll: Attack the Silver Fish in the stream until
you get the Secret Scroll.

Here, you are greted by Sarutobi, the Third Hokage. This is the mode
where you complete missions to advance up the ninja ranks and earn
more money. You advance up the ranks by completing missions and
earning EXP. You start off as a Ninja Academy Student, but as you
clear more missions, you can advance up the ranks. Eventually, if
you complete many missions, you can even become the next
Hokage of the Leaf Village.

I know I'm missing 1 S-Rank Mission, I just need the
information for it. The actual mission's name, the Client,
the message, everything. I just don't have the time right
now to do a marathon of playing matches just so I can
get the last S-Rank Mission.
The only things that I know about it are the name
and the condition:
"The Passionate Battle of Men" - Battle with all character
combinations until the count is 99 battles for each possible
combination. Mirror matches don't count.
Until I can get the full data, that's all I can say about it.
Except for "Good Luck."
Here's a tip for the 2 Free Battle Missions first.
1) Get a Rapid Fire Controller, a pen, and rubber bands
2) Position the Pen over the X Button and hold w/ rubber bands
3) Set CPU difficulty to Hard
4) Set counts to 10, Item Appearance to Low, Support to Off,
Ougis to Off, and full Handicap to P2.
5) Start the fights and check back occasionally to see
the progress if the matches.
6) Once one combination has reached 10 or 99 battles, change
the characters. (Depending on which mission you're doing...)
7) Repeat for days on end until you have completed the Mission.

Chapter 8) Practice Mode - Vent your anger on a dummy

As I just said, you can just use this mode to beat on a helpless
dummy, but this is where you can complete 2 S-Rank Missions. If you
practice the techniques of every character in the game, you can
complete "Secret Technique Information." If you find all the Secret
Scrolls, you can complete "Aquisition of the Secret Scroll."
When you enter Practice Mode, the first screen you see is the
Character Select. Choose your character and who you want to beat up.
After that, if you press Square at the screen where it shows the 2
fighters, you will be taken to the Practice Settings screen. Here,
you can toggle the following options:
Command Display: On/Off
Item Appearence: High/Normal/Low
Support Character: Appear/Not Appear
Ougis: Enabled/Disabled
CPU AI Pattern: Off/Guard/Attack
Once all the settings are made, press X to go to the Stage Select.
In Practice Mode, you and your enemy will have infinite healthand
chakra, you and the dummy do take damage and pay chakra for
techniques, but it regenerates. If you pause and go to the Command
Chart, you will notice the words Pass or Fail next to technique
names. this is used for the S-Rank Mission "Secret Technique
Information." If you change all of the "Fail" to "Pass" for each
character, you will have completed the mission.
This is also the easiest mode in which to aquire all the Secret
Scrolls. To find out where they are for each stage, consult the
Locations chapter of this FAQ.

Chapter 9) Free Battle Mode - Not all things in life are free...

There are two choices here:
Vs. CPU - Player 1 Vs. the CPU
Two Player Vs. - Player 1 Vs. Player 2
Whichever choice you make, the next screen is the Character Select
Screen. If you Press O, your character will be chosen randomly. If
you press Square, you will be taken to the "Make Out Paradise
Chart." This is used to complete 2 S-Rank Missions. "Make Out
Paradise" and "The Passionate Battle of Men." These missions will be
explained in the Mission Mode chapter of the FAQ.
Once both characters are chosen, if you press Square, you will be
taken to the Battle Settings Screen. You can change the following
options here:
Battle Time: Between 10 - 99 Counts or Infinite Time
Item Appearence: High/Normal/Low
Support Character: Appear/Not Appear
Ougis: Enabled/Disabled
Handicap: 1P ****@@@@ 2P (Default is 4 stars for each player)
Select reverts all options back to their defalt settings.
Once all choices are made, you will be taken to the Stage Select.
Press O for random Stage Select or choose a stage on your own. Once
the stage is chosen, the battle begins.

This is the place where you can change options or view items
obtained. When you enter this menu, there are two choices. "Adjust
Settings" and "View Items"
Adjust Settings:
Control Settings - Reconfigure button settings.
Screen Settings - Adjust screen position.
Sound Settings - Adjust volume (Main, BGM, SFX) and
sound output(Stereo or Mono) settings.
Difficulty Settings - Adjust the difficulty level for Scenario
and Free Battle. (Easy, Normal, Hard)

Listen to the audio collections: Total - 387 (23 Music | 364 Voices)

Obtain scrolls by completing S-Rank Missions and by filling up the
"Make Out Paradise Chart." Most scrolls are obtained by fighting 10
matches with a character pairing. For example, Naruto Vs. Neji 10
times will get you one scroll. Keep in mind that you have to enter
the "Make-Out Paradise Chart" to aquire your new scrolls.
Note - Whenever you see (X Vs. Y), fight 10 battles with that
character combination to get that scroll.

The Forbidden Third Chidori
Short story about Kyuubi Naruto and CS Sasuke's Ougis. Originally,
each phase of those 2 Ougis were the final phjases of Naruto and
Sasuke's Lv. 2 and Lv. 3 Ougis. They were removed because normally,
when thay are performed, the character changes into their 2nd form.
Normally, they could not use Ougis because thay didn't have one. So
in the Localization process, Bandai Namco Games decided to make them
two seperate characters for the Domestic release. Naruto can't become
Kyuubi Naruto in the middle of a fight anymore like he should be able
to. Nor can Sasuke hav the Curse Mark spread over his body during a
fight like it normally would. Well, enough of that.

You are welcomed by Ebisu and Konohamaru. There are 3 Capsule
Machines to choose from. A "for Beginners" machine,
a "for Collectors" machine, and a "for Maniacs" machine.

Beginners Machine:
- Unlocked at start of game
- 614 Items to collect
- Price ranges from 100 Ryo to 1000 Ryo in 100 Ryo increments.
Collectors Machine:
- Unlocked upon reaching Chunnin Rank in Mission Mode
- 762 items to collect
- Price is 200 - 2000 Ryo in 200 Ryo increments
Maniacs Machine:
- Unlocked upon reaching ANBU rank in Mission Mode
- 865 Items to collect
- Price is 300 - 3000 Ryo in 300 Ryo increments

These missions will eat up a lot of time, but not as much time as the

Q) How do I get Additional Hits to clear "X" Mission?
A) I really need to put strategies in...
Anyways, To actually start an "Additional Hit" sequence, hit your
opponent into the air with their ^ + O, O move, or throw them away
from you. Some character's ^ + O, O just isn't enough, so follow
them with an X-Dash and hit them upwards, the sequence should
start. There's not really much else I can say about this topic.
