You play as either X, Zero, or Axl and you can pick your navigators also (Alia, Layer, and Pallette). If you meet a certain condition, you get to play as one of the navigators too. o---------------------o COPYRIGHT INFORMATION o---------------------o I do not own Megaman or any of the characters at all. They all belong to Capcom of America, Japan, Europe and other regions. However, this FAQ is the sole copyright of yours truly and cannot be used without proper permission and credit. o---------------------o STORY o---------------------o From the manual: The year is 21XX.. Endless turmoil between Humans and Reploids continues to wreak havoc on Earth, and Humankind has placed its hopes of survival on an exodus to space. A full-fledged evacuation to the satellite moon has begun, thanks to the completion of "Jakob" a giant rail elevator. A large contingent of "new generation" Reploids has already been sent to the moon to construct a base. However these "new generation" Reploids, capable of transforming into anyone else with the right DNA, pose a secret threat, as they have copied some very dangerous DNA - the DNA of Sigma, thought to have been previously destroyed. Reploid revolts are springing up all over. X, along with Zero and Axl, heads to space on a mission to investigate - and squelch, if possible - this extremely hazardous situation. o---------------------o MEET THE CAST o---------------------o Descriptions from the Manual ****************** *HEROES * ****************** +X+ Former leader of the 17th Unit. A car falls off and X investigates. A reploid group looking like Sigma appear then one of them changes to normal form and introduces himself as Lumine. He and the other reploids changed to Sigma to protect themselves from damage using the same DNA technology as Axl. A warning occurs and Alia says she is picking up readings from the Jakob facility and dispatches all hunters near Point Galapagos **end cutscene +++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++ Noah's Park +++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++ X and Axl start things off. Alia tells X to pick up samples. Run right and kill the Bombees, Bustards, and Land Torpedoes. You'll encounter a Crabboss-Y. (A boss already?) --------------- Mid Boss Fight: Crabboss-Y HP: 32 Attacks: Claw Crush, Body Blow, and Vulcan Shoot the blue cores on its legs while avoiding the Vulcan shots and when they are destroyed, the Crabboss-Y will lean to its site and give you a chance to damage it. If you have Axl still intact, you can have him jump and hold fire to hover and pelt the boss with Axl Bullets in a continous stream till it retreats --------------- Your partner teleports in and X says he has a sample of the Crabboss-Y and leaves Axl by himself to fight. There is a cliff with Crab-Ks below if you fall down. Use your hover to get across. The Batonbon Ss are no threat here. Just hover across while lined up with the Metals. There are Crab-Ks, Bombees, and Bustards to take out as you pass a waterfall you'll need to return to when you re-enter as Zero. Watch out for Land Torpedoes popping out the waterfalls. There are two more Bustards followed by one that has been Mame-Qed and has homing missiles. Enter the door and ward off a swarm of Batonbon Ss until you get your metals and can exit out. Zero comes in and badgers Axl. You may notice a strange rock above but you'll have to re-enter with X after he gets his Head Parts I to break it. Jump down the waterfall to fight Crabboss-Y again. --------------- Mid Boss Fight: Crabboss-Y HP: 32 Attacks: Claw Strike and Body Blow It attacks from behind the waterfall this time so attack its face. Crab-K's come in and try to interfere so watch out. As you attack the boss, watch for its claw and Alia will pop in and tell you to use the double team attack which beats the Crabboss-Y into submission and another retreat. --------------- Both Mavericks talk as you head right. Axl obtained another sample and Zero tells him to head back. Zero is alone now. Run right and use guard break on the Mettaurs and kill them. A Queen Bombee appears from behind but is harmless for now. You can guard break the Moledigs and take them out in few slashes. Take out the Spikeys on your way to a closed bunker. Double jump to the one above and kill Queen Bombee before you enter. Wipe out the Bombee swarm and get the prizes and continue. X rejoins you. Run right and take out the block for some metals and kill the Floatgunners. You can guard break the Protectorals or wait for rhem to turn. Drop down the line of metals and kill the Floatgunners, Spikeys, and the lone Bustard and hit the switch, and climb up the closing walls quickly before they crush you. Run right and double jump up the above platform, squash the enemies and hit the switch. Get the Metal and the life up. Enter the door and your partner comes in and Alia explains tells them to use the double team attack for the best strategy --------------- Boss Fight: Crabboss-Y HP: 64 Attacks: Claw Crush and Body Blow This guy can bounce back attacks now. Guard Crush it to stun it then use the double team at its head when it is in position. This takes out half its HP. Get the red n blue gems to boost up your meter and repeat the process to win the fight. --------------- +++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++ Primrose +++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++ Kill the Batonbon Ss and Bustards and enter the teleporter. Just hit one red switch to flip the screen 180 degrees and enter the teleporter. If you have Axl on your team. Be sure to kill one of the Rolleroids with a copy shot for its DNA to use later on since they are impervious to spikes. Hit the red switch and kill the Rolleroids and Batonbon Ss then hit the red switch at the end or air dash to the teleporter. Hit the switch above to make the blocks crush the Bustards and hit it again to get the Metals. Hit it once more to proceed. Hit another red switch to encounter the Bustard and get the Metal then hit it again to proceed to the teleporter. Hit the red switch to kill everyone but be sure to hit it again because the spikes coming out the blocks are Prickle Guard proof. Hit the red switch at the end to enter the teleporter. Take out all enemies to get to the lower right. Get all Metals first and hit the green switch. Climb up and hit the other green switch and hit it again and get the metals. Hit it once more for a metal and the teleporter above. Wait for Spikey to fall down then air dash to the green button and crush the Spikey and the Tortshell then wall jump to the red switch and enter the teleporter in the upper right. Hit the red switch and fall all the way down. and land on a green switch, before you fall, hold right and get the Metals then fall and keep hitting switches till you are running to the left and getting a line of Metals and ending with a teleporter at the end. In this room, There is a block above you which you need Zero's double jump and X's Charged Crystal Wall which you lack so skip it. It contains a Rare Metal when you go back for it. Go up the stairs and hug the right walls to avoid the Spikeys. You'll enter a trap room with blocks that rise and fall. There is a spike that comes out of the middle of them so stay inbetween the blocks. I recommend staying in the middle and there is one point where it looks like you're smashed but hold right and you'll live for now. After the blocks are through moving, they explode and you can proceed but pick up the treasure left behind. There is a quicker way to get the Head parts so instead of doing a bunch of crazy stuff, here is wat you do. Hit the green switch twice and the Protectoral should be on the lower right between the spikes. Kill it and use you Prickle Barrier to get in the hole and get the Head Parts I. Exit out and use Axl's Rolleroid Copy to make it to safe haven and enter the teleporter in the upper left. Hit the red switch to flip the screen and hit the one in the lower area when it is safe. There is a block with a red switch on top of it. hit the switch and fall down and get the metals and hit the red switch at the end and enter the teleporter. Get all the goods below including a rare Metal. Then enter the final teleporter in the stage. Make your way to the gate in the lower right and get ready to fight Gravity Antonion --------------- Boss Fight: Gravity Antonion HP: 64 Attacks: Body Blow, Cube Drop, Juuhazan, and Cube Falls Shoot him or slash him till he is invincible then wait for him to stop flashing and continue attacking. Careful when getting close to him. He will do his Juuhazaan and say "You're weak" (you'll eat those words, buster). His Squeeze Bomb nullifies all attacks save Shadow Runner, Rasensetsu, and Black Arrow. Which you lack. Watch out for his goo too. It traps you. There is a huge move in the room too which he tries to smash you with. If he lifts it up, be sure to be far away as possible then dash at him when he tosses it. He also shifts the gravity in similar fashion as the red and green switches you used earlier. When his life hits a 1/3, he'll do his DM which is Cube Falls. It is a series of falling cubes that does major damage. Use your Doubleteam when he is almost finished to take out 16 of his HP which he should have less or equal to when you hit him with it. --------------- ******************************************************************************* Interlude ******************************************************************************* X complains about this whole war and Alia tries to console him. Axl seems to love the "fight for justice" and Alia scolds him but X defends him. +++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++ Metal Valley +++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++ A Yellow Brontes is on the loose and has gone berserk. No time to sit there and look at it. It is after you so MOVE IT! MOVE IT! MOVE IT! With Zero use your double jump to get the rare metal on top of the dinosaur bones. Don't bother fighting the enemies unless necessary. For the most part, you can air dash over them. At the end, try to use the switch to hit the Brontes 3 times. In between hits, keep an eye on the laser it shoots. When you see it ready to fire at you, get down and stand next to Brontes and you're safe until it tries to punch you. Climb back up but if it readies its laser, head back next to it and try again. After the third hit, it retreats. Now you chase it back. Pelt it with bullets to make it drop red Metals worth 50 Metals a piece. Use Axl to move along the girders and get the Rare Metal. Come back to this stage after you beat Earthrock Trilobyte and use the charged Crystal Wall in the first empty ditch left by the Brontes. Brave through Megabayoalls and Guard Generators as you chase the Brontes to the warehouse. Before you enter, use the Charged Crystal Wall inside the wrecked shovel to get a purple Metal worth 500 Metals. Enter the warehouse and you're in a trap room with Crystal Walls trying to smash you. Survive it and you get treasure left behind. Go left and hit the switch on the upper right then air dash your way to the left switch for best results and hit it. Keep going back and forth till you hit Brontes six times. Enter the left door and face Earthrock Trilobyte. --------------- Boss Fight: Earthrock Trilobyte HP: 64 Attacks: Body Blow, Crystal Wall, Bound Blaster, Wave Wall Use Zero's Juuhazan for best results. The swing may be slow but it does heavy damage on him. Use the Doubleteam for 16HP damage free. When his life hits 1/3, his DM is the Wave Wall where he sends a wave of Crystal Walls your way in similar fashion to the ones in the trap room. Afterwards, use two of Axl's Spiral Magnums to finish him off. --------------- ******************************************************************************* Interlude ******************************************************************************* Layer congradulates Zero on a well done job. Pallette reminds Zero who they are and what this? Does Layer have a crush on Zero? She even blushes too. ^_^ ^_^ +++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++ Dynasty +++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++ Gigavolt Man-O-War is on a rampage in this whole level. Ain't much to say here but chase his ass down and keep shooting at him in your Sirius vehicle. It is not easy as it looks because you have a certain amount of time to shoot him down and you have its attacks to avoid throughout the chase. Press triangle to accelerate. This uses up weapon energy but don't worry, there are weapon energy capsules throughout the stage. Watch out for signs and cross traffic they are a pain in the ass. It's good to tag out after each time you are hit. If you take to long to defeat Gigavolt Man-O-war, there will be flashing red lights and continue to let him live and you die regardless of energy. Successfully shoot him down, and it is time to fight him. --------------- Boss Fight: Gigavolt Man-O-war HP: 64 Attacks: Body Blow, Plasma Gun, Volt Whip, Kilovolt, Megavolt, Thunder Dancer Zero beats the crap out of him. Thanks to the Rekkyodan, your sword stays orange for the rest of the game and therefore you don't have to do anything special to do the move. Just slash Gigavolt Man-O-war with any attack of Zero's and the fight will be over quickly. The only move you can't stop is his Thunder Dancer. To avoid damage, watch where you see blue sparks then move out those spots ecause that is where lightning will strike. One double team or two strikes later, he is gone. --------------- ******************************************************************************* Interlude ******************************************************************************* The ladies try to figure out the cause of new generaion reploids going Maverick despite immunity to the Sigma virus. Axl says he is a prototype so he's immune too. Palette suggests analyzing him to Axl's dismay. +++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++ Central White +++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++ It's c-c-c-c-cold. You are on another Ride chaser. This time it is the Barius. The weapons are different here. Each Hunter has their own weapon of choice. X charges his weapon, Zero has wide shots and Axl has rrapid fire. Dash button speeds you up and jump button brakes. Shoot everything that moves which is mainly the Kelpies, Mame-Qs and Mine Qs. If a Kelpie comes from behind, move to the side and brake and watch him fly by and crash or get into firing range. There are crevasses that equal instant death. Keep an eye for ramps. The first three ramps are as follows. left, left, and a double on the right. After, a short ride on broken ice, you come across two more ramps on the right. After the second ramp, pull left or you'll take a dive in the bottomless pit. Ignore the next ramp after that on the left, it's a death trap. --------------- Mid Boss Fight: Ravemanta HP: 64 Attacks: Shot, Mine-Q dispatch, Kelpie dispatch Avoid the Mine-Qs and Kelpies and when it gets down, you can get up close and start capping on it viciously or if you have X, you can take your time and use charge shots and avoid its shots easier. Defeat it and it will fly away dispatching Kelpies and droping Metals before it blows up --------------- Now you got more Kelpies and Mine-Qs to shoot. Shou-Qs come in pairs with an electrical barrier that slows you and does damage. Shoot one to break the barrier and kill them both. There are more ramps and crevasses here. There are also some terrain that's tough to stay on but you get lots of metals if you do. On the first ramp, pull right to avoid crashing and dying. You'll be in a secret area with good treasure and its a shortcut to the Ravemanta. --------------- Boss Fight: Ravemanta (Round 2) HP: 96 Attacks: Body Blow, Shot, Kelpie Dispatch, Mine-Q Dispatch This is just like the last fight except its pattern is changed and it has added a kamikaze (does hurt itself) attack to its arsenal. it does one charge at a time but here is the pattern of charges, left, left, right, left, right, repeat pattern. It also has 96 HP so the fight is longer. --------------- At the end of the ride, you'll leap off your Barius as it crashes into the wall and clear a path to the boss but don't be in a hurry to fight yet. There are two items you need to get above. Climb the wall with Zero and do a mega jump near the top and double jump to reach the foundation above. You'll need the Shinig Ray from Optic Sunflower to melt the ice so come back later, it leads to the Head Parts H. If you got Axl, hover to the left and get the rare Metal. Now jump back down and enter the gate. Just great, you fall into the snow. --------------- Boss Fight: Avalanche Yeti HP: 64 Attacks: Body Blow, Ice Gatling, Hyouryuushou, Drift Diamond, Snow Eisen Shock him out his attacks with powers from Gigavolt Man-o-War. It's hard to nail him with Zero's Raikousen unless he is coming down from an Hyouryuushou. THe Thunder Dancer and Plasma Gun are just fine. His DM is the Snow Eisen but it won't do nothing to you because he'll be dead when you shock him with the Thunder Dancer once more before the Snow Eisen becomes a threat. --------------- ******************************************************************************* Interlude ******************************************************************************* Alia has completed her analysis of the Maverick data so far. The copy chips is what makes the new generation reploids immune to the Sigma Virus because it changes their DNA. She also compared Axl's data to those of the new generation reploids and found out some interesting info. OH NO! Sigma??! The data is the chips closely resemble that of Sigma but there is no clue on the meaning. +++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++ Inferno +++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++ This stage starts off by scrolling upwards and your goal is to make it to the bottom but you can't just drop off or you'll die. You'll take damage if caught at the top. The Floatgunners are the only enemies here. Some blocks explode while others contain metals. At the end of the line, jump off the platform with metals below in the nick of time. Go right and leap over the Guardroid and kll him from behind and enter the door. You're now in a trap room where sixteen Mine-Qs pop out of the furnace and your prize depends on how many you kill. Proceed right afterwards and jump over the pipes. Use a Charge Crystal Wall in the upper right for a purple metal worth 500 metals. Drop down and head left. Notice that hole covered by spikes? You'll need to come back to that point later on. That leads to a rare metal which becomes Zero's T-Breaker. You'll need to do some careful wall jumping on your way down because there are spikes everywhere including on the floor at the beginning of the spike ridden area. Once you make it to where there are two Guardroid HIGs blowing ice at you use Axl's rapid fire from a safe spot or kill them quick. Slide down the left to avoid the Megabyoall and slide down the left wall and aim for the spinner of the Megabyoall and hop over the spikes and drop down the right and kill the Bindholder. At this point, you don't have Zero's T-Breaker yet so you can't break the ground below yet. For now, watch for the spikes below and aim for the wall on the left and carefully hop up the wall. There is a Foots parts H waiting for you here. Jump down the shaft and grab the left wall once you out of that spikey area and slide down. USe your Buster parts X to blast the Guardroid HIG through the wall. Stun the Megabyoall and make your way to the spikes and double jump over them or hop the wall on the left and air dash over them carefully. Guide through the Megabyoalls and use a copy shot on the Flyroid and take its DNA. From here you can either climb all the way up to that hole from earlier on, die then return from the start, or revisit the stage. Whatever the case, head back to where the flyroid was and enter the door on the left. This time you have 20 Mine-Qs coming out the furnace. After you collect your prizes, go left and climb up the falling platforms. On the last platform, air dash along the line of metals and kill the Guardroids and get the rare Metal behind them. Now leap all the way to the lower left and the screen scrolls up again. There are more exploding blocks along with more Floatgunners and Guardroid LIGs in the way. The platforms are longer too. Watch for lasers and use blocks for cover. At the end, the floor falls and you fight the boss. --------------- Boss Fight: Burn Rooster HP: 64 Attacks: Body Blow, Crest Shot, Enkoujin, Melt Creeper, Flame Burner. Flame Tornado. Ice attacks are your friend. They do massive damage to him. After one hit, he does the Melt Creeper which you can avoid by wall hoping then air dashing. After another shot, he'll retreat to the background and perform the Volcano Rise that make the floor rise and fall. Keep hitting him with ice attacks as they prevent most of his moves. His DM is the Flame Tornado which prevent you from wall hopping but no worries. He falls in one double team or one Hyouryuushou. --------------- Burn Rooster might be dead but you're not finished. You have to escape the volcano by jumping up the platforms and getting metals while avoiding the rising lava. Grab the 3000-Metal piece to complete the stage. ******************************************************************************* Interlude ******************************************************************************* X suspects Sigma's involvement as Vile showed up. X mentions a reploid copying Sigma and says all he can do is collect data. +++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++ Booster Forest +++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++ Head right and guard break the Army-style Mettaurs then kill them. There is a Golem ride armor that you can safely attack from a distance. Kill the Floatgunner and board the Cyclops. Go back and get the Metals and double back and go on a rampage. Only a few enemies can damage the armor. Not even spikes are a threat to you when you are in the Cyclops. There is a point where you get out your ride and leave it on the elevator then lift it and get back in the armor and there are Guardoid HIGs that blow fire. Get out and use a copy shot on the Spheroid because you'll need its DNA later on. The golem ride armor go down with a one-two punch. Continue on the rampage till you reach a spiky conveyor belt that is deadly to step on minus armor. Stand on the conveyor belt and drop the ride off and use the above path to catch up with it and get in. Jump right quick and enter the door. Do the old one-two punch to all robots. Once you exit the room, jump out and kill the mine-Qs and get back in and drop it off at another elevator and lift it. Jump to the left and float left and jump out in midflight and air dash over the spikes and get the Foot Parts I and have the completed Icarus armor. Now do that whole elevator process bit but kill the Mine-Qs first and step on the floors that sink underneath the armor and air dash to the top right and punch the blocks for a 500-Metal piece. Drop down on a high platform and leave the armor and turn into a Rolleroid and roll left. (Megaman's slide coulda did this). Get the Rare Metal and other Metals and turn back to Axl and reboard the armor and take the above path. Get out the armor and catch up to it but before you do, use the charge armor punch combo to kill the Bind holder when it is close. Leave the armor at a safe spot. Now get the metals in the upper right the go beneath it and hit the switch below to lower the elevator. Now go back to the armor and board the elevator, get out and hit the switch and reboard the armor and hit the left blocks and use the Charged Crystal Wall in the corner for a Rare metal. Reboard and hover to the right and enter the door. Defeat all Golems to proceed. Take out the Mine-Q and stay on the left block till the right one is even then from the right block, jump off to the conveyor belt and then while on it, leave the armor behind and wait for it to get on the elevator and then make it up the vertical shaft, and kill the enemies in the way and wait for your armor to reach you then jump on and hop left. And fall down the shaft and the floor breaks and you get a free ride through many metals including a rare one. Now go right and get out and destroy the bomb block on top and the top left block from after that and get in the armor and make a break for the boss room. --------------- Boss Fight: Bamboo Pandamonium HP: 64 Attacks: Body Blow, Green Spinner, Bamboo Spear, Blast Launcher, Yourentotsu, Bear Hug, Youdantotsu Although he can knock you out the armor, he still messed if you get to him with your armor intact because he takes massive damage with it. But if you lost your armor, no problem. Fire powers hurt him bad. The boss, the boss, the boss is on fire. There's no need for water make that mothersucker burn. BURN, MOTHERSUCKER, BURN! His DM is the Youdantotsu which does major damage as it is a punch flurry. Hang in there and burn him to the ground. --------------- ******************************************************************************* Interlude ******************************************************************************* Layer congradulates X and she seems worried about Zero. X says Sigma used him to try to destroy the world and upset about it. +++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++ Troia Base +++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++ This is a guide to get all S-ranks in Troia Base Posted by Knight9910 on the MMX8 GameFAQs message board with some editing by us Have the full Icarus armor (all "I" pieces, the suit should glow red) so you have the Giga Crush. The Giga Crush can end most challenge instantly and will charge on its own if you wait in the halls. Also, don't die. This drops your rank instantly. It's easy to die in the halls because of all the spikes and pits so be careful. 1. In this mission you're on a big block in the middle of the ocean. Falling in the water = instant death here so be careful. Anyway, enemies will fly in from around you to attack and you have to destroy as many as possible in the time limit. You need 90 points for an S 2. In this one you're falling through the air and a Flight-Q will fly up and down in a UFO. You have to kill it. You can slash it or just use my method of the Giga Crush to end this instantly. 3. You're on a bunch of moving platforms. An Ghost-Q will randomly teleport around, leaving small energy balls that hurt you if you touch them. Don't fall or you're dead. My advice is, once again, Giga Crush. 4. You're standing on the rotating gears. Jumping-Qs jump up and down between the gears. This can be challenging if you try to fight them normally as the gears rotate up and down and going off either side is instant death. You know what I'm going to say here, don't you? Giga Crush when they're both on the screen. 4.5 (by us). Before the door to test 5. Use an air dash to reach the upper left corner and use a Squeeze Bomb in that area to break the wall and get the Buster Parts H. 5. You're on a big elevator with a giant Scale-Q who floats around and shoots energy bullets. As you hit him he shrinks. My advice is to switch to Zero. If he has the Rekkyoudan move you can just stand there and slash the enemy until he shrinks and dies without taking a single hit from his energy bullets. 5.5. In here is where the halls get tricky. For the next hall you have to cling to the walls to your right. You'll need impeccable timing with the dash button to make it across. 6. You're on a giant conveyor belt. A spiked wall is behind you, moving in and before you is a Scorpy-Q in a weird contraption, shooting at you. You can do this any number of ways. The spikes won't go all the way but you do have a time limit here and that conveyor belt is pushing you into a pit. My advice is either shoot the enemy with X's Icarus Buster or use the Giga Crush. 6.5. Another tough hallway. You have to scale a wall over a pit. Be careful making the jumps. Also, there's a rare metal here. Slide down the platform and dash in under the door. The metal is on a hidden platform down there. 7. In here you're on another elevator and now a Guardrpid VR with a sword (and on S-Rank another with a rifle) jump around trying to kill you. Kill them however you feel like. They're really easy. Note: You may end up fighting Vile here. It only happened to me once and I'm not sure if there's a time limit on it or not since it's been a while since it happened to me. 7. 5. There's a LOT of spikes here. If you have Axl you'll get a lot of use out of him here. If not jump, then dash over the first spike bunch. Cling to the big wall there then jump and dash over the next spike bunch. CAREFULLY jump and dash through the two sets of spikes and cling to the wall. Fall down and dash over and cling to the next wall down. It is important you cling to the bottom wall. DO NOT try to dash to the door; you won't make it! Instead cling to the bottom wall then jump and dash to the door, picking up the red metal on the way. 8. This is another hard one. Especially since the Giga Crush doesn't work here. You're on a moving train with a Dragon-Q flying above you. First it uses cannons that shoot down at you. Destroy those and the head begins shooting fire. Destroy all the body segments, followed by the head. On S-Rank the small enemy inside will now begin shooting giant blasts of energy at you. Destroy the cannons on him and he'll shoot small energy bullets that blossom into those giant blasts. Strike him a few more times to kill him. This part is hard and you're biggest fear will be staying alive. But if you can stay standing you'll have no problem. You have 30 seconds for an S ranking. You need to play this level twice to get both Rare Metal prizes in the. First one requires an S in 5-7 tests and the other requires all 8 S rankings. Move forward to the boss --------------- Boss Fight: Optic Sunflower HP: 64 Attacks: Body Blow, Ray Sphere, Raygun, Shining Ray, Earth Crush This dude is a fag. He reminds us of Hyena from King of Fighters: Maximum Impact. Keep an eye on where he pops up. That determines where to dodge his attacks. The blocks provide cover from his Raygun. Green Spinners knock him out of his attacks. His DM is the earth crush, keep moving to avoid being hit. Hit him with 2 more attacks given by Bambo Pandamonium or use a double team to win. --------------- ******************************************************************************* Interlude ******************************************************************************* Only one to go. Is it the last one or just the beginning? It's been a while since Lumine's capture. Elevator seems normal but Layer is worried. Axl lifts everyone's spirits up. +++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++ Pitch Black +++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++ It is dark as death up in here. Leap and dash over the beams and kill the Mettaur GMs and Siren-Qs as you go. At the end, jump up and kill the Batonbon Ss and slide between fan blades. As you travel down the elevator use the blocks for cover against the lasers. The metals guide you here. Go left into the opening and fend off the Fla-Qs and get the prizes left behind. Time for some Metal Gear Solid stuff to go down. Avoid the searchlights and fend off the Floatgunner. Be sure to copy the Guardroid LIG at the end for it's DNA. Shoot the Siren-Q and hop over the pit and enter the hidden area behind the wall on the left. Turn into a Guardroid and press Triangle to salute the guard who is napping and he'll salute back and run in the room and fall back asleep. Turn back to Axl and use the Plasma Gun on the generator. Use X's Charged Crystal Wall in front of the generator for a rare metal. Then exit out, leap over the pit and get all the Metals above including the rare Metal at the end. Double back and fall down and head right and kill all in your path till you reach a platform that can be reached by Zero's double jump over X's Foot Parts I and hop all the way to the top right for a Rare Metal out of sight. Drop back down and enter a trap room full of Guardroids who will die at the hands of Axl's Raygun easily. You could win a 500-Metal piece. Get out and stop the Megabyoall and drop down the elevator shaft with blocks for cover and go right at the bottom. Watch the spikes below and the enemies here, Use Zero's double Jump or X's Foot Parts I to get the 500-Metal piece safely, Get the goods on the ride and sacrifice some life climbing up to get the Body Parts H. Now it's better to fall down and sacrifice some life and pull right at the opening. Stun the Gabyoalls and kill the Guardroids and get ready to rumble. --------------- Boss Fight: Dark Mantis HP: 64 Attacks: Body Blow, Shadow Runner, Black Arrow, Blood Scythe, Death Energy Axl's Raygun does a good job and so does the Shining Ray when charged. His DM is the death energy which compose of two big swipes on each side. Double team him when he falls down. --------------- ******************************************************************************* Interlude ******************************************************************************* X is now postive that Sigma is the culprit. Alia says things are bound to be different this time. All Mavericks seem to be Sigma copies. Sigma appears in the monitor and taunts the Hunters. Off to the elevator. +++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++ Jakob +++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++ Ain't much to say here but kill kill kill everything in sight since you are on the elevator the whole stage and the enemies are Shou-Qs, Bombees, a Binholder and various Guardroids. At the top awaits Vile himself. --------------- Boss Fight: Vile HP: 64 Attacks: Body Blow, Flight Shot (Alpha, Beta, Gamma, or Lambda), Fire Stream, Hexa-Involute You have fought Vile three times before and as usual, ice attacks just take him to school but this time you can't wall jump as he has 64 HP this time. His DM is the Hexa-Involute. It is a Hexagon shaped pattern of voltage that circles the room. The volts are safe to pass through when they thin out temporarily. A couple more ice attacks and Vile retreats again for now. --------------- ******************************************************************************* Interlude ******************************************************************************* Zero and Layer have their little chat and Zero asks Layer for her hand in marriage. OK I'm just kidding. He really asks her to be his navigator to help take down Sigma. +++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++ Gateway +++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++ Honestly now. Do I even have to tell you about this level? Seriously. Well if you never played a Mega Man game before then I'll spill the beans. This is the part where you fight all the original bosses again. Each boss is represent by the color on the capsule and a recap of weaknesses. Beat one and get the items in the room before facing the next boss. Amber: Earthrock Trilobyte (Gravity Antonion) Black: Dark Mantis (Optic Sunflower) Gold: Optic Sunflower (Bamboo Pandamonium) Green: Bamboo Pandamonium (Burn Rooster) Lavender: Gravity Antonion (Dark Mantis) Light Blue: Gigavolt Man-o-War (Earthrock Trilobyte) Orange: Burn Rooster (Avalance Yeti) White: Avalanche Yeti (Gigavolt Man-o-war) Beat them all then you get a message to evacuate. Go back the way you entered the room as the floor fall behind you and enter the gate to face Sigma. --------------- Boss Fight: Sigma HP: 96 Attacks: Body Blow, Straight Divide, Arc Divide, Reflect Magnum, Doom Buster, Blazing Line. Dark Mantis powers take care of him. He has a charge move called the Doom Buster that is unavoidable if he uses it so you got to knock him out of his charge with a guard breaking move or take massive damage regardless of where you are. His straight Divide is avoided by wall jumping. Near the end, Sigma will use his Blazing Line to set the floor ablaze for the rest of the fight. No prob. Dash to the other side and sacrifice some life if needed and double team him and ABC ya Sigma. WHAT! It was a fake! --------------- ******************************************************************************* Interlude ******************************************************************************* Multiple Maverick signals on the moon surface. Ther heroes sense Sigma and the other was a copy. Let's go team. Let's get Sigma. +++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++ Sigma's Palace +++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++ To the moon we go. The signal is jammed, so no contact with headquarters. Does not bother us at all. There are various Guardroids, Turncannons which blow out fire and plenty of spikes. I know what you're thinking, if you're on the moon then why aren't the jumps high as the screen and why don't you float down. I can't answer that. Anyways, enter the gate at the end for the final fight with Vile. --------------- Boss Fight: Vile + Devil Bear Armor HP: 48 Attacks: Body Blow, Flight Shot (Alpha, Beta, or Gamma), Fire Stream, Devil Rush, Devil Stomp Him again? **yawn** This time he is in the Devil Bear ride armor. Use a guard breaker move to knock him out of it. Then proceed to put him on ice. As long as he is out the armor in which he is invincible. When he gets back in, knock him back out and finish him off. Watch as he blows up and dies. --------------- Head right and use the Raygun to blast the Guardroid Alphas and Tortshells to bits from a distance. If one of the Guardroid Alphas throws homing balls, cease fire and commence attack. When one of the Guardroids has a shield, Axl's Blast Launcher can take care of that. Always be sure to slide down the walls because there may be spikes below especially when you get to the second shielded Guardroid Alpha. Destroy it and the other Guardroid Alpha (with homing balls) with the Blast Launcher while hoping back up the wall to avoid a prickly death. Hold right as you slide down the wall to the right because an air dash will land you in the pit beyond this point. Make it to the right and do a low air dash to get in the opening safely. The vertical shaft full of spikes is not hard to negotiate. Just be careful of where you leap. It's only four jumps. On the left, hover to the piece in the center then hop over the spikes and hover to the ledge and wall hop onto it. Now hover over the pit and use the Blast Launcher then Raygun to finish the two Guardroid Alphas and enter the gate. Keep moving and you'll face Sigma possibly for the last time in the X series ever as rumored. --------------- Boss Fight: Sigma HP: 96 Attacks: Body Blow, Eclipse Ray (Alpha, Beta, or Gamma), Phantom Divide, Rage Divide (Hard Mode only), Arch Divide, Doom Buster, Blazing Line, Mirage Claw Damn, Sigma looks real jacked up. He has a barrage of attacks. The Eclipse Rays can all be avoided by wall jumping. The Raygun is the best weapon to use on him. After a series a rings, he'll vanish and do his Phantom Divide which can be avoiding by dashing away. Blast him as he misses. He'll do that more often as his health goes down. He'll do his DM (Mirage Claw) earlier in the fight and its unavoidable. Use a Tag Assist to break it the moment Sigma appears. Now he fights dirty, he'll use Blazing Line on one wall and don't get on the wall behind Sigma till he does his Eclipse Rings or he'll do his Arch Divide. Once he is throwing rings, aim your Raygun down at him. If he is charging up his Doom Buster (while he is doing other moves), use Blast Launcher to knock him out of the charge. Soon he will fall for the last time. --------------- +Cutscene+ Lumine arrives and reveaks that he was behind the whole thing. --------------- Boss Fight: Lumine HP: 96 Attacks: Body Blow, DMs of the original eight bosses depending on the color he is glowing. If you remembered the color of the beams each boss has then you know what DMs are coming up. Here's a recap: Amber: Earthrock Trilobyte [Wave Wall] (Gravity Antonion) Black: Dark Mantis [Death Energy] (Optic Sunflower) Gold: Optic Sunflower [Earth Crush] (Bamboo Pandamonium) Green: Bamboo Pandamonium [Youdantotsu] (Burn Rooster) Lavender: Gravity Antonion [Cube Falls] (Dark Mantis) Light Blue: Gigavolt Man-o-War [Thunder Dancer] (Earthrock Trilobyte) Orange: Burn Rooster [Flame Tornado] (Avalance Yeti) White: Avalanche Yeti [Snow Eisen] (Gigavolt Man-o-war) If you remebered how to avoid these attacks then you're okay. --------------- +Cutsecene+ Lumine a Maverick? Lumine says the copy chip consists of DNA from hundreds of Reploids even Sigma. That might mean Axl will go bad but Lumine says he is not capable. Lumine questions X's heart but Zero and Axl keeps his head on his shoulders. Time for the final battle come on --------------- Final Boss Fight: Lumine HP: 96 Attacks: Body Blow, Refrain, Legato, Bel Canto, Grave, Unison, Oratorio, Paradise Lost. He has no weakness so that means, take any weapon and kick ass. The first part of the fight is easy. He'll dive at you first. To avoid his Bel Canto, start close to him and move away carefully and jump when out of room because you can fall to your death. After a bit of damage, he'll add the Legato to his arsenal which is 8 sets of twin lasers. Stay in the middle and jump to avoid a set of lasers and try to junmp at least not to high or too low so you can fall and avoid the next set and repeat 3 more times. When he uses Grave, move to the safe spots and memorize where they fell because they'll rise in the order of the spots they fell. Unison is hard to dodge but hang in there and keep pummeling him. His DM is the Paradise Lost and it darkens the screen. You have 30 seconds to beat him or it's game over regardless of retires left. You need to guard break him three times and then doubleteam him to finish him off. Beat him with Axl for the special ending. You win! --------------- o---------------------o VILE FIGHTS o---------------------o As you beat bosses, Vile will make three impromptu appearances in the trap rooms of normal stages except Dynasty and Central White. He is weak to ice attacks but the first fight you lack ice powers. So avoid his shots and use power attacks to take him down. Use the strategies from above to deal with Vile once you got the ice powers. He has 32 HP in these fights. o---------------------o GRADE RANKINGS o---------------------o Each stage gives you a ranking after you have beaten it. There are 6 grades possible depending on how many points you got for the stage. Points are determined by amount of time taken to complete the stage, number of enemies defeated and number of combo hits in a stage. Combo hits are the number of hits in succession without a pause or getting hit. You get a bonus 50 points for finishing the stage untouched.
