How are you? Fine? So am I! The walkthrough I've written this time does, as you can see, cover Indiana Jones & the Emperor's Tomb. Lately, I've been writing about a lot of Japanese games like Monster Kingdom and Castlevania, so I figured it was time to put together a nice little walkthrough for a game developed in Europe or USA. Maybe I'll continue this trend too, who knows? My final decision fell on LucasArts and The Collective's action-adventure game. Initially, I thought it would be fun to write about something similar to Max Payne, since I love those games, and Indiana Jones is pretty similar, but also pretty different at the same time. Unlike Mr. Payne, Jones is a real hero -- a real good guy who never doubts himself. Indie jumps, swims, shoots and hits people in the head with shovels! Lots of action here, yup. Also, this game is starting to age a little; it was released at the beginning of 2003, and now it's the middle of 2007. What am I thinking, writing about such an old game? Truth is, I am not thinking. Oh, comeon, what I really mean is that it doesn't matter how old the game is. And if you're reading this right now, it has to be because you're interested in this walkthrough. That alone is reason enough for me to write. Walkthroughs are meant to help people after all. On a sidenote, this isn't an old game at all -- just talk to the ones who are carrying out the NES completion project at GameFAQs and have them tell you. Anyway, to get this started, I'll just mention that this guide contains information about all the levels in the game, and where to find all the hidden artifacts that quite a bit of people are having a hard time finding. What the guide does not cover is every single hidden ammo package, every single weapon drop and so on. It covers everything out of importance, but not more. Press the Triangle button while this icon is visible to automatically select the correct equipment for the situation. For example, if Indie goes near a crocodile head, the whip icon will appear, since crocodile heads are used to grab onto with the whip. Simply pressing Triangle is much faster than using the directional pad to browse for the right equipment. - Kick 'em While They're Down: When fighting enemies, you'll often notice that after taking a good beating, some enemies fall down. To quickly do more damage to them before the brawl goes on, go close to them and press one of the attack buttons to kick the enemies while they're lying on the ground. - Ropes: When climbing ropes, you will often have to use the analog stick to swing the rope in order for Indie to reach a ledge at the other side of a gap. If you climb down to the very bottom of the rope, you will be able to swing in a much bigger radius than you're able to at the top of the rope. - Aiming: When fighting or shooting at enemies, always hold the R1 button to lock onto the enemies. In hand-to-hand combat, the R1 button also makes Indie guard himself from incoming punches. - Hug the Wall Like Your Best Friend: Indie has to walk on a lot of thin ledges throughout the game. This is dangerous if you walk like normal, as you can easily fall down. Go close to the wall above the ledge and press the Triangle button to hug the wall. Now, you won't fall down no matter how thin the ledge is. If someone doesn't shoot at you, of course. - Get Ammo: A lot of ammunition for the various weapons can be found behind building, around corners and so on. If an area looks suspicious, chances are that you will be able to find some ammo there. Enemies also drop ammo when defeated in battle. - Hand To Hand Combat: You'll be fighting enemies in good old-fashioned brawls where your fists will be the only means you have to attack with. Often because you're out of ammo, but sometimes also because hand to hand combat is very effective against guards and other enemies. There are two attack buttons; The X button is the primary attack button, while the Square button is used to pull off faster, secondary attacks. Mix up combinations between the two buttons to do combo-attacks. The most important thing is to actually hit, and not miss your enemy with your first punch, since the enemy will get lots of time to puch you while you are recovering from a miss. Because of this, I recommend starting all punches with a fast secondary attack, as those are less likely to miss your target than the primary punch. ============================================================================== Artifact Locations - [EmpArt] ============================================================================== - On some of the levels you can find secret items, described in the game as artifacts. This is a list that shows you where to find each of them. Bear in mind that not all levels have artifacts hidden in them - Idol of Ramba Vihara --------------------- Where: Gates of the Lost City How to Find: After climbing up the ledges at the beginning you will find a huge waterfall on your right side. Walk into the waterfall to arrive in a secret cave, where the Idol has been hidden. Mahavatu Mask ------------- Where: The Hunter's Camp How to Find: There is a crane in the area where two hunters are guarding a fireplace. Head over to the crane and break the box that is maintaining it's stance. Another box will now fall down revealing the mask. Port Negombo Relic ------------------ Where: Palace of Forgotten Kings How to Find: Just before the ending section of the level, you will find a room with a fireplace and a passage covered in vines. Cut the vines and go inside the passage. Do not climb upwards using the vines on the wall -- jump up on a ledge instead. From there, head left to find the relic. This is just below the part with the wall-darts and collapsing ground. Medallion of Libuse ------------------- Where: The Library How to Find: After getting the map, head back to the main room, then go over to the levers that are used to lower the lamp hanging in the ceiling. Left of the lamp, there is a passage. Jump in there to find the medallion. Stochov Fragment ---------------- Where: The Observatory How to Find: Just left of where the level starts there is a small ledge. Hop up on the ledge and wall-hug. Now walk along the wall until you see a small opening in the tower at the other side of a huge gap. Jump over the gap and grab the fragment. Now jump back to where you came from. Cistercian Mask --------------- Where: Vega's Tower How to Find: In the tower with the broken clock the floor is broken. Drop into the crack to find the Cistercian Mask. Piri Reis Manuscript -------------------- Where: Istanbul Breakout How to Find: Just left of the exit door there is a circle-formed roof. Drop down onto that roof and walk to the end of it to find the manuscript. Ottoman Seal ------------ Where: Secret of the Mosque Part II How to Find: At the very beginning, run straight forward and roll under a broken wall. The seal is at the other side. Delian Proclamation ------------------- Where: Sunken Palace How to Find: After blowing up the pillar using a demo charge, make your way to the top of the room. You will see a crate hanging in a rope. Use your whip to swing over to the rope, then cut it to break the crate. ============================================================================== Ceylon - [LucCey] ============================================================================== ------------------------------------------------------------------------------ Gates of the Lost City - [Cey001] ------------------------------------------------------------------------------ Artifact -------------------- Idol of Ramba Vihara Indiana is searching for treasure, and believes that right now, he's very close to what he's looking for. Once you get control over him, run up the small ledges just ahead, then jump up to the top of the higher ledge. Drop down to the waterfall. Inside the waterfall, or rather, if you walk into the waterfall, there is a secret area. Go in there to find the [Idol of Ramba Vihara] artifact. Pick it up, then go outside again. Run into the ruins on your right side, then jump while running to get to the other side of the gap that's waiting for you near the entrance. In the grassy area just ahead, there is a water outlet. You can fill Indie's can with water at outlests like this one, then use the water to restore health later, if it's needed. Right of the water outlet there are some platforms. Climb all the way to the top of those, then jump to the other side of a wide gap. In the room on the other side, there is a skeleton and a Machete. Pick up the machete, then drop down to the ground again. To safely drop off a ledge, hold the R1 Button while walking off it. Ok, now that you're at the bottom again, use the Machete to cut through a passage covered in vines. There is a gap ahead, and it's pretty wide, so you will have to equip your whip and cling it to the crocodile head which is hanging from the ceiling. You do this by holding the X button, then releasing it when you want to release the whip's grip. Remember this, as there are lots of gaps where you need to use this technique in the game. This is an Indiana Jones title after all. Now, cut through another vine-covered passage to complete the level. ------------------------------------------------------------------------------ The Hunter's Camp - [Cey002] ------------------------------------------------------------------------------ Artifact ------------- Mahavatu Mask Cut through some vines at the beginning of the level. Indiana now gets to see some hunters. He thinks he should watch out for them, as they might prove to be dangerous. Head right from the window Indiana is looking out of to meet one of the hunters. Defeat him by hitting him with your bare hands. The Square and Circle buttons and used for punching. You can do small combos by using both buttons.When the hunter has been killed, or at least knocked down, equip the machete and cut the nearby rope. Now you can drop down into the hole in the floor. Down here you will meet another of those nasty hunters. Try holding the R1 button while fighting him. This way, you will be able to strafe, and Indiana will try and block incoming punches. Always remember to hold R1 while fighting. There are some small boxes just ahead, and by breaking them, you can find ammunition for your revolver. I won't tell you to break every single box in the game in this walkthrough, so make it a standard rule -- when you see a small box, break it. You might get lucky and find stuff like ammunition in there. In the next area, you will find a Shovel in a small hole in the wall. Use the shovel, or your revolver, to kill two hunters who are waiting for you. If you choose to use the revolver, make sure you hold R1 to aim at the bad guys. Don't bother picking up the Liquor Bottle that one of the hunters drops. Run up some stairs near the hunter's camp, then cut through the vines covering a small passage up here. There is a water outlet in here, so fill your can if you need it. Now, back in the room where you killed two hunters, swing over a gap to get to the other side of the room without dropping down to the ground. Use the Triangle button to wall hug, so that you won't fall down when trying to pass the small ledge. Swing over another gap. There is a small crane here. Smash the box near the crane to make another box drop down to the ground. Inside the box that just dropped down, you will find the [Mahavatu Mask]! Now, make your way up to the crane again, run up the stairs, and continue running until the floor breaks. You can climb up from the gap, since the wall is covered in vines. Ok, swing to the other side of the gap now, then swing over another one. Make sure your timing is good when it comes to letting go of the crocodile head here, as you'll have to kick down a small blockade at the other side of the gap. Drop into the water in the next area, but don't bother diving, since there is nothing interesting at the bottom after all. Climb up onto the small ledge leading up from the water, fill your can at the outlet, then jump from the ledge near the outlet to reach the other side of the water, where a small platform is located. Climb to the very top, where a vine is hanging. Jump onto the vine and swing to the other side of the gap. Cut through the passage at the other side, then equip your revolver. Kill a hunter, and grab his Shotgun. Near the hunter you just killed there is a ledge. Jump from there down to a platform. From this platform, swing across a gap using your whip, then run into a corridor. The corridor collapses, and you fall into an area filled with water. Once again, there is nothing for you to find at the bottom, so swim around and climb up to the only reachable ledge. Make your way to the very top of the room, and activate a switching hanging on the wall. A door opens, and two armed hunters attack you. Kill them both using the shotgun you found earlier, then run through the corridor they came from. Kep running until you reach the end of the level. ------------------------------------------------------------------------------ The Path of the Ancients - [Cey003] ------------------------------------------------------------------------------ Swing over a gap, defeat a hunter, then run into a huge open area. In this area there are two hunters guarding the place. Beat both of them. In this huge open area, make sure you're down on the ground, then run until you find a small passage. Climb up to the top of the ladder in here to find a guard tower. Kill the hunter inside and activate the switch that's hanging on the wall. A secret passage will now be opened down in the huge open area. Inside the secret passage that opened there are some boxes, one of which contains a medkit. Make your way back outside, and this time, jump along all the platforms instead of heading into the guard tower. After a while you will reach a thing ledge that you can use to climb left. At the other side, a hunter is waiting. The game will now tell you how to grab weapons out of your enemies' hands. To do it, simply equip your whip and use the X button to hit the weapon out of his hands. Afterwards, kill him like you've killed all the other hunters this far. Examine the wall ontop of the stairs just ahead. Indie thinks that he could blow the wall up if he had some explosives. After getting the idea about explosives, some hunters open two doors behind Indie. Kill the hunters, then head into the door on your left side. You will find a Demo Charge in there. With the demo charge in your inventory, go back to the wall from earlier and blow it all up. Boom! Of course, stay away during the explosion, dummy. ------------------------------------------------------------------------------ Palace of Forgotten Kings - [Cey004] ------------------------------------------------------------------------------ Artifact ------------------ Port Negombo Relic Open the door in front of you using the switch. Or, the mechanised, wall, if you prefer calling it something like that. At the other side, there are four hunters. When you've killed them all, a door opens above you. Before heading up to the door, fill your can in the lower left corner of the area. Now that your can is filled with water, jump all the way to the door that opened. There's a few platforms you need to jump to, but getting there isn't very hard, really. Kill the hunter that is waiting for you inside, then drop down to the very bottom of the area. There are two ways you can take down here. One leading to a fireplace, and one leading to a room with some vines. There is no point in going to the fireplace, since there isn't anything else than a door leading back to the beginning of the level there. Head into the room with the vines first, but don't climb up the vines on the wall. Instead, jump up on the small platform in the room to find a secret door. Inside, there is an artifact named [Port Negombo Relic]. Great find, right? Now, drop down again and climb to the very top. There are two places where the floor will collapse up here, and there are darts being shot out of the walls as well. Use the L1 button while running to avoid the darts. Falling down when the floor collapses is not dangerous, but can be avoided by jumping. Swing over two gaps using your whip. The exit is waiting at the other side. ------------------------------------------------------------------------------ River of Fangs - [Cey005] ------------------------------------------------------------------------------ A little ahead of where you stair out, Indie will enter adventure mode. In adventure mode, you use the left analog stick to move around, and the L1 button to roll. Unlike the main game, adventure mode is based around squares. Tilting the analog in one direction quickly means moving exactly to the next square. There is no such thing as being able to stand between two squares. Make your way past the first set of spikes, by remembering their appearance pattern. The same goes for the next set of spikes just ahead of here. After passing the second set of spikes, indie goes back to normal game mode. There are three hunters and a water outlet in this room. Fill your can and kill the hunters like usual. Activate the switch on the wall and walk through the gate that opened. There are some tents out here. In the one on your right side, there is some revolver ammo, and a hunter guarding it. Deal with him, then kill the hunter near the tents on your left side before trying to pass the bridge. Start trying to pass the bridge, only to fall down into the river when the bridge collapses. Down here, you will meet a mad crocodile. Do not attempt to fight with it. Instead swim to the end of the river where you'll find a waterfall. Inside the waterfall there is a Dynamite Bundle. Near the waterfall there are some platforms. Jump onto them to get into some new ruins. Murder two hunters inside the ruins, then activate the two switches to open a hole in the floor. Your last task is dropping into this hole. ------------------------------------------------------------------------------ Temple of the River Goddess - [Cey006] ------------------------------------------------------------------------------ You'll start out under water. Swim forwards and take a breath in the air-filled area just above you. Keep on swimming until you find a room with a giant statue. Watch out for the crocodile in the water before climbing up to dry ground. Activate the switch in the middle of the area to lower a cage. Kill the two hunters in here before jumping onto the cage and into a passage just left of it. Inside there is a water outlet and some stairs. Run up the stairs to enter adventure mode again. Pass all the spikes, activate a switch at the other side to open the mouth of the giant statue from earlier. Go back to the giant statue, and run into its mouth. Crazy stuff! ------------------------------------------------------------------------------ Into the Secret Caverns - [Cey007] ------------------------------------------------------------------------------ What is it that makes these caverns so secret? I have no idea myself. Run to the top of some stairs, then head left. There is a skeleton lying on a plate just ahead. Step on the plate, then roll off really fast to avoid a falling block. Climb onto the block and let it take you to the top. Drop down into a room with a locked door. The floor breaks, and you fall into some water. Or, if you're quick, you can jump just before falling into the water, and then use your whip to swing to the other side. It really doesn't matter what you choose to do here, as you will end up at the same place no matter what. Watch out for crazy crocodiles and climb up from the water. Climb up to the top of a ladder, take down a hunter and climb up another ladder. Up here there are some planks. Walk on them to reach the other side where another ladder can be found. Climb to the top, kill two hunters, then climb up some vines. There is a vine hanging down from above up here. Jump onto it and swing over to the ruin entrance at the other side. Before you can swing over to the other side, you must climb upwards while hanging from the vine. Do this using the right analog stick on your controller. Fill your can with water in the next area, then continue running through the nearby corridor. Do NOT drop off the ledge at the end of the corridor -- instead, activate a switch there in order to lower a cage. Activate the switch once more to make the cage start moving upwards again. Make sure you're in the cage now, following it to the top. Kill the three hunters who are waiting up here, then activate a switch on the wall to open a gate. Well done, level complete. ------------------------------------------------------------------------------ The Silent Guardians - [Cey008] ------------------------------------------------------------------------------ On your right side you will see a Silent Guardian. These things will shoot at you if they hear you. If you look at the floor near the guardian, there is a path made of grass. Walk slowly, following the grass in order to avoid the Silent Guardian. It won't hear you this way. In the next room there are several guardians. Climb onto the ledge on your left side in this room, and climb as far as possible. The guardians will not hear you while climbing. Now, pick up one of the skulls from the floor. Throw it ahead so that the next guardian shoots at the skull when it hits the ground. The guardian won't be able to fire two shots without a break, so after the skull hits the ground, you can safely run to the other side of the room without being hit. There's a waterfall near some stairs here. Kill the hunter that is guardian the stairs, then run to the top. Kill another hunter, refill your can, then prepare for more sneaky action, since the next room is filled with Silent Guardians. There are many grassy spots in the room, and some skulls as well. Use the same technique as last time -- throw skull, run to a grassy spot. Repeat until you're at the other side of the room. Mission Complete. ------------------------------------------------------------------------------ The Idol of Kauru Watu - [Cey009] ------------------------------------------------------------------------------ Indiana Jones spots the artifact he has been looking for from the beginning ontop of an altar. However, because of a blockade at the altar and a huge crocodile swimming in the water, you won't be able to get it just yet. First, throw a skull into the water so that the crocodile swims away. Now, quickly swim onto the island-like platform where the altar is located. Here, wait until the crocodile swims to the right part of the room. When it does, hurry up and swim into the corridor in the left part, then climb up from the water there. The crocodile will follow after you, so make sure you're able to climb up from the water before it catches you. Now, jump over the gap close to where you got up from the water and activate the lever. This will close the gate leading into the corridor, trapping the crocodile. Now it can't get out of here. Ok, jump back over the gap, continue running up some stairs, and activate a switch. Some cages will get lowered in the room with the altar. First jump onto the lowest cage, climt to the top of it, then jump to the top of the higher cage. From there, jump onto a chain hanging from the ceiling. Now swing from the the chain and grab onto another chain just ahead of the first one. Finally, swing from the second chain into a small room. Activate the switch in there. Three new cages will now be lowered, and a new room will open. Getting up to thew new room and activating the switch there won't be a problem for you, since you've already done the same thing once. Now, repeat the process with yet another switch, room and cages. Now, the altar will get accessible, so go and grab the Heart of Kauru Watu. You'll drop down into the water afterwards, but this isn't a problem, since you've locked up the crocodile in another room. Swim back to the entrance for a cut-scene. ============================================================================== Prague - [LucPra] ============================================================================== ------------------------------------------------------------------------------ The Castle Gates - [Pra001] ------------------------------------------------------------------------------ Beat the guard at the beginning, then run down the path. Beat another guard, the jump upwards to the roof, close to where you beat the second guard. Defeat another guard up on the roof, then run up some stairs. You'll hear a german man speaking about some papers. Punch him until he faints, then jump onto the chain left of the balcony where the man was standing. Climb down to the bottom. Head towards the small truck and grab the med kit from the crate on it. Beat another guard, then examine the gate. It's locked, so you can't get into the castle. Sprint back to where you climbed down the chains a moment ago. There is a path leading downwards from there, so run down that path. Be careful now, since there is no bottom to land at if you fall down from the ledge down here. Carefully jump and hang onto the white pipe in the middle of the gap, then climb right. Let go of the pipe once you have ground under your legs again, then use your wip to swing over a gap, and onto a chain. Now that you're hanging in the chain, drop down to the ground below. Head left once you've landed to find a luger and some ammo. Now go right to find a door. ------------------------------------------------------------------------------ The Dungeon - [Pra002] ------------------------------------------------------------------------------ So this is what a dungeon looks like? Fine with me. Drop down to the bottom of the room, then run as far down as possible -- down all the stairs. Kill two germans at the very bottom, then head into the door on your left side. Keep on running, jumping and rolling to avoid the blades that the germans have set up as traps for you, until you find a switch. Activate the switch, then fill up your can with water from the nearby outlet. Now walk into the very first room again. There's more germans here now, but don't let them disturb you. Since you pressed the switch a moment ago, a new door has opened in the first room. To reach it, swing over the gap in the upper part of the room, then activate another switch inside to open a red door below you. Drop down and run into it. You'll find a room with a hook in the ceiling. You'll have to jump into the air, then use your whip to grab onto the hook, then swing over to the other side. Now, wall hug and walk left to find a switch. Activate it. A cage with some chains now appears where the hook was earlier. Climb to the top of the chains and jump into a new corridor. This one is guarded by three germans. Kill them all using your luger. Run to the end of the corridor to find a prison room filled with rats. Fill your can in here, then jump up to the ledge in the middle of the room. There are two levers up here. Pull one of them to lower a dark chain behind you (not on the side where a you'll see a locked gate), then jump onto that chain and swing onto another one. Your goal is to reach the highest ledge in the room, and pull the lever there. Do that to open the locked gate above the water outlet, then drop down again to the two levers from earlier. Pull one of them, then swing up to the locked gate. Exit the level. ------------------------------------------------------------------------------ The Courtyard - [Pra003] ------------------------------------------------------------------------------ The courtyard is filled with german guards. Try to avoid being spotted, by sneaking behind the guards. Make your way over to the truck. There is a MP40 waiting for you there, so make sure you pick it up. Also pick up the Demo Charge that the truck is carrying. Equipped with the MP4, take out all of the guards in the courtyard, then blow the well open using your Demo Charge. The well is located close to the huge stairs. Drop into the well now. Swim forwards until you find a lever that opens the exit. ------------------------------------------------------------------------------ The Great Hall - [Pra004] ------------------------------------------------------------------------------ Kill a guard, then run into the nearby corridor to find a room with two armors and a door. Open the door, There is a red table in here. Kill two guards, run up the stairs, and keep running until you see the icon that means you can use your whip to swing into the air. Do not use your whip you -- instead run down to the bottom of the stairs to fill your can with water. Now go back and swing up to a platform using your whip. Jump and swing over another gap using the lamp in the ceiling. Some germans appear below Indie, but they haven't spotted him just yet. Continue running until Indie says that 'he needs an edge'. Hug the wall on your right side and listen to the germans speaking about playing cards later on. Now, when you're at the other side, activate a lever there to make the lamp fall down and kill all of the germans. Now, from where you pulled the lever, use your whip and swing onto the chain that the lamp was hanging in before you broke it. Climb a littlw downwards once you're hanging in the chains, then swing right to reach a new ledge. Open the green door to find a room with some guards and a pool table. There is a Library Key on the table close to the pool, so grab it. Now go back to where you killed the germans by breaking the lamp. Use the key to open the door in there. ------------------------------------------------------------------------------ The Library - [Pra005] ------------------------------------------------------------------------------ Artifact ------------------- Medallion of Libuse You'll start out in a small hallway. Right ahead there is a huge room with some stairs. Run down to the bottom of the room and kill the guard. There is a secret door down here. It's pretty small, but not hard to spot. Open it to find a water outlet and a guard. Now, walk up the stairs again, and run straight forward from where the level started. Climb up, then swing over a gap using your whip. Kill the guard, activate the lever to lower a lamp. Climb up the ladder close to the lever you just activated. Take down another guard up here, but ignore the lever as it is only used to bring the lamp up again. Now that the lamp has been lowered, you can grab onto it with your whip and swing over the gap. At the other side there is a fake bookshelf, but one book is missing from it! You will have to find that book now. So, jump back over the gap and make your way up the second lever. You know, the highest one. Allright, from up here, stare towards the lamp. Directly left of the lamp there is a small passage. You can actually climb over the ledge here and get into this passage! Inside there is a ladder, so climb to the top. Activate the switch up here to make a painting go away, revealing the book you are searching for. After getting the book, head all the way up to the fake bookshelf again. Open sesame! Pick up the map inside this room. Now head back to the main library again. A passage has opened at the very bottom. Before walking through it though, head into the passage below the passage where you climbed up a ladder a little while ago. You know, left of the lamp, but on a lower level than the previous one. Inside you will find [Medallion of Libuse]. Now you're finally ready to leave using the passage at the bottom. ------------------------------------------------------------------------------ The Astrologer's Clock - [Pra006] ------------------------------------------------------------------------------ As you can see, there is a crown on a small pillar in the middle of this room. If you grab the crows, dangerous gas will start filling the room. But, you are Indiana Jones after all, so this is going to be alright no matter what! Grab the crown, then run towards the exit just in front of your current location like a madman. The door there will slowly start closing, but run fast, and you'll make it without a doubt! Now, in this room there are four doors with icons on them, two skeletons and a fireplace behind them. There's also a lever near the skeletons. Pull the lever to make a creature appear. It is waiting for something -- waiting for you to give it the crown! Oh, ok, let's do this! Give the creature the crown and wait for three new levers to come up from the floor. Examine the three levers. There are three icons on the clock; set the sun to II, set the moon to IV and set the bull into the circle ontop of the clock. The door with a bull on now opens. Go in there right away. ------------------------------------------------------------------------------ Armory - [Pra007] ------------------------------------------------------------------------------ Climb up to the top of two ladders. Indie spots a woman dressed like a ninja. Walk down to the roof, hug the wall, then climb up the ladder hanging on the guard tower. Drop down from the window on your left side, kill the guard. Walk into the little door, climb up another ladder and kill a guard up on a ledge above you. There is a zipline close to the window on your left side. Ignore it for now, and drop down from the window in front of you instead. Now, break the glass on the roof and drop down into the armory. There is a sword in a glass box here. Break the glass, take the sword. Kill the two guards that attack, then exit the room. Lots of guards with MP4s will start shooting at you. Be fast and climb up the nearby ladder. Escape using the zipline. Now you will be back at the rooftop where you saw that female. Climb down into the building you came from at the beginning and head through the door at the bottom. Mission complete, well done. You're now back in the room with the clock riddles and skeletons. ------------------------------------------------------------------------------ The Observatory - [Pra008] ------------------------------------------------------------------------------ Artifact ---------------- Stochov Fragment Give the creature near the skeletons the broken sword you found in the armory. A new set of levers will appear. This time, move the sun to XII, the moon to III and then put the scorpion inside the circle on the clock. The door with the scorpion will open, so go in there. Welcome to the observatory. Run into the nearby building, head left up the stairs, then go close to the door ahead. A german will come out of it, so kill him, then walk through the door on your left side. There is a balcony out here, with a guard on. Hit him so that he falls down, then jump onto the chains that are hanging in the air. Swing onto a platform on your right side, and make your way up to the roof using a nearby ledge. Ok, now that you are up on the roof, keep running forwards until two guards appear, talking about booty traps. Kill both guards. There is a ladder close to where the guards were standing. It should be right behind you, in fact. Climb up to the top to find a MP4. Now drop back down to where the two guards were killed, and from there, run left down some small stairs. At the bottom of the stairs, go out on the ledge on your right side and use your whip to swim over a gap. Go inside the door at the other side. Indie spots an item he thinks looks important. Ignore the important thing for now and head upstairs to find a telescope. On a table near the scope, there is a lever handle. Grab it, head downstairs again and use the handle at the thingie Indie thought looked important earlier. The machinery starts working. Upstairs again, touch the blue wall to find Vega's Manifesto. Some guards will break the door into the telecope room. Kill the guards and make your way back to the beginning of the level. Remember the first stairs you saw? At the bottom of these stairs, close to a fence, there is a small ledge. Jump up on it, wall hug, and walk behind the buildig -- still wall hugging. When facing the tower at the other side of the gap, stop hugging and jump to the other side. This might sound a little tricky, but it's all good, really. Well, in the tower you will find the [Stochov Fragment], which is another artifact. Jump back and exit the level inside the building you came from at the very beginning. ------------------------------------------------------------------------------ Vega's Tower - [Pra009] ------------------------------------------------------------------------------ Artifact --------------- Cistercian Mask Back in the room with the clock puzzle, give the creature your Vega Manifesto, then set the clock again: Sun goes to VI, Moon goes to XI and the human siblings icon goes inside the circle. Head inside the door with the soldiers on, since it just opened! Head outside, swing over the gap on your right and take out a german guard at the other side. Run up to the top of the stairs and kill the guard up here. Jump over the gap, then head behind the building, walking along the wall wihtout falling down, of course. Kill two guards, then head inside the building and up some stairs. Jump over a gap -- now you will be outside again. On your left side, use the whip to swing over yet another gap. Jump over another gap using two chains hanging from above. Afterwards jump onto another chain and climb to the top. Now you're inside a clock tower. There is a crack in the floor. Drop down to find another artifact: [Cistercian Mask]. Now go back up again to the clock tower. Go into the elvator, press the button. Activate the switch here to open a passage leading out of the tower. Climb up the ladder after opening the passage and then activate a lever up here. Indie will now use a plane-like thing to fly across the whole area. There is a corpse in this room, holding an orb. Grab the orb. Some gas will start coming into the room. Be quick and jump onto the nearby shelf, then jump up to the top. Swing over a gap, and break the window to escape the gas. By the way, the orb is named 'Soul Crystal'. Jump onto the chain on your right side, drop down onto the ledge below the chain. There is another chain down here, so use it to get inside the tower a little below your current location. Run down the stairs once inside, and exit the level. ------------------------------------------------------------------------------ The Labratory - [Pra010] ------------------------------------------------------------------------------ Time to solve the last clock riddle. First give the creature the Soul Crystal you got in Vega's Tower. Use the three levers that appear to solve the riddle: Sun and Moon goes to X, the weights icon goes to the circle. A door opens. There is a glass container in the middle of the next room, and suddenly, something breaks out of it! A mad monster! Waaaah! The monster is all mad, and throws crates at you. It also shoots fireballs. Run around, rolling with the L1 button to avoid these attacks. In the corners of the room there are some glasses filled with green acid. Pick them up and throw them at the monster. Repeat until the monster breaks some machinery. In the ruins of the machinery there is a metal pipe! Go pick it up! Use the metal pipe to beat the monster to death. Beat, beat and beat it some more until it dies. The monster drops a dragon shard, which is the item you have been looking for! Now try and exit the room for a cut-scene. Some familiar faces will appear. ============================================================================= Istanbul - [LucBul] ============================================================================= ------------------------------------------------------------------------------ Istanbul Breakout - [Bul001] ------------------------------------------------------------------------------ Artifact -------------------- Piri Reis Manuscript Kill the two guards that enter the room where Indie is trapped. Kill another guard outside, and take his turkish knife.This is a nice weapon. There's some stais on your left side. Run all the way to the bottom to find a corridor. Murder the guard that is patrolling down here, and grab a grenade from behind the nearby crates. Run a little forwards, then climb up on the roof. There's some small stairs up here, and on the left of the stairs there is passage. Walk through that passage to find a bunker-like corridor. Watch out for the TNT bottles in here, and kill the guards. On the table at the end of the corridor there is a medkit and a satchel. Head outside again, and go to where you climbed up onto the roof earlier. Swing over the gap using the whip. Run across an open area and shoot or throw grenades at the guard who attacks from the top of a ledge. Jump up on that ledge now. Use the turret up here to take out the guard that attacks from below. Run until you reach an open area. Lots of guards will attack, but the ninja from earlier (guess who it is) will help you. Afterwards, head into the nearby building and jump to the top of the construction bricks. There is a chain above you. Grab onto it and climb to the top. Up here, wall hug and head left. Jump down the the construction platforms and climb them to get to the top of a tower. Up here, you will see a crate. Push the crate down from here to activate a lift. Use the zipline up here to travel down to another construction platform. Kill the bad guys that followed you, then make your way up some platforms until you reach another roof. Up here you will find the level exit. Left of the exit there is a circle-formed roof. Drop down there to find the [Piri Reis Manuscript] and a water outlet. Now go back to the level exit and escape through it. ------------------------------------------------------------------------------ Secret of the Mosque Part I - [Bul002] ------------------------------------------------------------------------------ Indie starts out at the top of a circle-formed room. There is a white statue below him. On your left side there is a hallway. Swing over two gaps in there. Can you see that plank leading downwards? You need to slide downwards on that plank, then grab onto a lamp using your whip. Note that you need to jump to reach the lamp with your whip. If you miss, you will fall down and die -- be careful! Now, after the sliding part kill two nazi soldiers. Wall-hug along a thin ledge to meet two nazis and one arab. Take them all out -- the nazis first, as they are armed with lugers. Grab the MP4 from the nearby table and continue running ahead, down some stairs. Continue swinging over gaps. Do not drop into the water below you -- grab onto a lamp with your whip when you get to the end instead, then kill all the germans in the next room. Take the Demon Charge that is lying on a table and bring it back to the start of the corridor. Blow the cracked wall here open. ------------------------------------------------------------------------------ Secret of the Mosque Part II - [Bul003] ------------------------------------------------------------------------------ Artifact ------------ Ottoman Seal At the beginning, ruin straight forwards and roll under the broken wall. Inside you will find the [Ottoman Seal] artifact. Go back to the beginning, and kill two enemies left of the entrance. Go to the top of the construction platforms in this room, jump from platform to platform until you reach a corridor. Do not jump over the gap in here. Instead, jump up on the small ledge on your left side and grab onto an even smaller ledge above you. Climb up, then jump over the gap up here. Grab onto a lamp with your whip and swing into a very,very dark corridor. Scary stuff. Alright, run through the corridor. Drop down into the big room below you. Kill two nazis and fill your can at the fountain in the middle of the room, then activate the red lever to lower an elevator. Kill the passengers, take the elevator to the top. Go into the red crane control room and start fiddling with the control panel. Use the crane to grab onto the white statue head. Now two germans will climb down from a ladder inside the control room and try to kill you. Return the favour and climb up the ladder yourself. Now you will arrive on the roof of the control room. Climb up a ladder, run to the end of the path then jump and grab onto an object on the white head with your whip. Mission complete. ------------------------------------------------------------------------------ Sunken Palace - [Bul004] ------------------------------------------------------------------------------ Artifact ------------------- Delian Proclamation Climb up from the water in one of the corners. Grab the oxygen tank (this one lets you hold your breath for a longer period under water) then drop down into the water on the other side of the platform. A shark starts going mad, so be quick and swim left at the intersection. Do not swim right, as the shark will eat you if you do. Climb up from the water again. Kill a nazi and go into the white hut he was guarding. Grab the map on the table and the speargun from the shelf. Open a door and roll under the broken wall. Fill your can with water in here then go back outside. Drop into the water just below the white hut. The camera will start focusing on a crate with a demo charge in. Swim down and grab the charge, avoiding the monster divers close to it. Climb up to the white hut again now that you have the demo charge. Continue backtracking to where you started out in this level. Blow the cracked pillar up using your demo charge. The pillar now falls, so use it to get to the ledge in the top of the room. Now, up here you will see another ledge on your right side. It can be pretty tough to jump over there, but it is indeed possible. Well, do it! Now, there are some hooks in the ceiling. Use them to swing over to another platform. Jump over a gap. On your right side there is a box hanging in a rope. There is a hook near the box, so use it to jump onto the box itself. Then, use the machete to cut the rope the box is hanging it. Grab the [Delian Proclamation] artifact, then jump into the red hut thats nearby. Use the control panel in here to start moving another crane. Grab the white statue head that's lying in the water. Bring it up from the water then move it right to break a wall. Do not climb to the roof of the hut. Instead, exit the hut and climb onto the ledge on your right side. From there, go to the broken wall near the stone head, then run up some stairs in the room on the other side. Swing over a gap, jump over another one, and exit the level. ------------------------------------------------------------------------------ The Gates of Neptune - [Bul005] ------------------------------------------------------------------------------ Note: There is no point in rushing to the end of this level, as you will need to have four hidden coins before you can continue to the next level. You have been warned -- make sure to find the coins first, as described below. Hop into the water and climb up on the ledge in the middle of the room. Jump up on the white platform and swing over the gap using the fish head. There is a very tiny ledge up here. Go up there and wall hug over to the other side. From here jump and climb until you end up at some stairs left of your current location. At the top there are two turks. Kill them and take the Wine Coin from the ground. Drop down into the water and swim over to the green light. There are some stairs near the light, so swim up those. Now you will be at the top of some ruins. Jump over a gap, grab onto the blue fish head and swing over to the other side. Now go right and drop into the water again. Swim staright forward until you meet the wall. Climb up onto the ledge near the craced underwater wall. We're gonna have to find a demo charge to blow that crack up. Climb to the top of the platforms, then jump over a gap on your left side. There is a fireplace just ahead, and near the fire there are some demo charges. Grab one, kill the two arabs in the corridor and head back to the cracked underwater wall from earlier. Blow it up to find a Seahorse Coin. Go back to where you found the demo charge and grab a new one. Once you've got another demo charge from the fireplace, turn around and start climbing back from where you came. Go right and start climbing and jumping over gaps. You'll end up in the other side of the room -- directly oposite of the fireplace. Blow the cracked wall here open using the demo charge. The Trident Coin can be found inside. Now head back to the fireplace and grab another demo charge. There's still a coin left to find! Head into the corridor just right of the fireplace. You will arrive in another room with lots of water in. Do not drop into the water. Instead jump onto a rope hanging on your right side, just before you reach the water. Climb up on the ledge above. Run to the other side of the room, and kill the arab that attacks you. Ignore the grenades since it is easier to take out the enemies using you fists. Less risikable as well. Also, the enemies have grenades as well, so don't give them the chance to throw one at you. Continue running until you see a cave in the wall. Jump in there. Follow the cave path and jump into the water below the first gap. The Kraken Coin can be found at the bottom. Now swim to the surface again and jump over the gap. There is a locked gate and four pillars with icons on them at the other side. There's also two handles -- one on each side of the locked gate. Place your four coins in the appropiate pillars. There's one slot on each pillar. It should go like this: Seahorse Pillar = Seahorse Coin Fork Pillar = Trident Coin Human Pillar = Wine Coin Octopus Pillar = Kraken Coin After placing the coins, activate the valves near the pillars. The locked gate will open up, so run through there now. Mission complete! Yeah! ------------------------------------------------------------------------------ Fall of the Sea King - [Bul006] ------------------------------------------------------------------------------ In the middle of the room there is a big statue. Swim close to the statue to make two monster divers appear. Use your speargun (there is ammo at the bottom of the pool) to kill them by aiming manually using the L button. Once they have been killed, pick up two demo charges from the crate that the divers were guarding. Now blow up the statue's right foot, then head back to where you started the level. On your right side, in the water, there is a passage. Swim through there and keep swimming until you find a room with a valve. Activate the valve and kill the two guards that appear. Now head back to where you started again. Go up from the water so that you're standing at the exact same place as where you started the level. Follow the path on your right side, swinging over a gap. Now, on the other side of the gap you will actually be able to grab onto the statue's fork using your whip. Do that, and swing to the other side of the pool. Jump over another gap at the other side and blow the statue's other foot to bits, using your second demo charge. Boom shaka lacka! There is a water outlet close to the second foot, so make sure to fill your canteen. Drop down into the water again and climb onto the broken pillar that has appeared. Jump onto a ledge on your right side, and from there, climb to the top of the vines on the wall. Grab onto one of the lamps behind the statue's head to break the statue, along with the floor. Indie now swims through the broken floor. ------------------------------------------------------------------------------ Kraken's Lair - [Bul007] ------------------------------------------------------------------------------ There is a giant octopus in the water. First, climb up on the ledge on your left side to find a Super Speargun and some demo charges. Drop down into the water and start shooting at the octopus' eyes. Once the octopus retreats in pain, place a demo charge on one of the underwater pillars. There are four pillars in all, so you will have to go and get more charges afterwards. Once all the pillars have been taken down, the water goes away and your reward can be picked up from the middle of the room.
