I'm Louis-Simon, also known as Dark__Soul. This is my first FAQ and I speak French so it's possible that sometimes, a sentence might sound strange. If I made some spelling mistake, please send me an e-mail (see the bottom of the FAQ for my e-mail adress). This FAQ is about the characteristics of the keywords in the game .hack//G.U. Vol1. Some people could think that all the maps of the game were created randomly, but some characteristics of the maps, like the levels and the elements, are related to the three keywords used. *-- Characteristics (car04) -------------------------------------------------* -> Map Level Modifier <- All the keywords influence the level of the map you're creating. The first keyword decides the tens (01, 11, 21, 31 or 41), the second keyword add levels to the level of the first keyword (+1 to +9), and the last keyword can substract or add some levels (-3 to +3). -> Elements <- The keywords you choose will also determine which elements will be active on the map. As you probably know, the elements are grouped in pairs : - Fire/Water - Wind/Earth - Holy/Dark Only one element per pair can be display on the map. Also, the element of the first Keyword take priority over the elements of the second and the third keyword, and the element of the second Keyword take priority over the element of the third Keyword. -> Type of Map <- The first Keyword determines if the map is played on a field, in a cave or in a temple. -> Type of Mission on Field Map <- The second Keyword determines the mission of a field map. For some Keywords, you will have to find the three symbol frangment on the map to be able to go to the *beast temple*, for others, you'll have to kill the boss on the map. -> Item Level Modifier <- The third keyword determines the average level of the items that you will find in the chests, in the breakable objects or in the monster drops. The modifier (+0 to +2) is added to level of the map. ## Exemple ## Keywords : Setting, Bustling, Slacker -> Setting : Lv : 11 Element : Water Map : Field -> Bustling : Lv : +5 Element : Fire Mission : Kill the Boss -> Slacker : Lv : -3 Element : Earth Item Lv : +1 This the map will be played on a field where your mission is to kill the boss. The elements on the map are the water and the earth (Fire can't appear on the map since the water is linked to the first keyword and fire is only linked to the second keyword), the level of the map is 13 (11 + 5 - 3 = 13) and the average level of the items is 14 (13 + 1 = 14). *-- Execptions (exc05) ------------------------------------------------------* Here are the four combinations of keywords of the game that won't create normal maps. Instead, you'll wrap to a landscape used for the story of the game. - Hidden, Forbidden, Holy Ground - Sneering, Failing, Empire - Setting, Eterinty's, Night Moon - Hidden, Forbidden, Bulwark I didn't give the three keywords of the first map (Courageous, Engaging and Daydream) since you can't use them to create maps later in the game. *-- First keyword list (ke106)
