Hi and welcome to my guide! As this is a sports title, writing a step-by-step 
walkthrough is impossible, however I have been able to show you where all of 
the teams are, give you general gameplay tips, explain the modes and options 
and answer your questions. I strongly recommend reading the instruction manual 
first though. If you have any ideas for extra tips or sections, please share 
them. I hope you find this guide helpful and feel free to check out some more

Q: How do I update the rosters?
A: This is very difficult to do. You could use the Trade Player function, but 
as it is unlikely that clubs really bought off each other some teams will 
become even more messed up as one becomes more modern. The only real solution - 
and one that I am sure EA is well too aware of - is to buy FIFA 2005 or the 
most recent FIFA re-iteration. Sorry.

This is a simple guide to the options screen, which can be accessed by 
selecting 'Options' from the Main Menu.

-Basic Settings-

Half Length - 2-10 minutes. Recommended=8.
Difficulty  - Amateur-World Class. Recommended Beginners=Semi Pro.
                                   Recommended=Professional.
Injuries    - On/Off. Recommended=On
Offsides    - On/Off. Recommended=On
Bookings    - On/Off. Recommended=On (Refs sometimes get this wrong though)
Wide Screen - On/Off. Recommended=Off on normal TV, On on a windscreen telly.

-Advanced Settings-

Power-up Speed      - Recommended=1/3 full.
Time/Score Display  - On/Off. Recommended=On
Camera              - Recommended=Action
Vibration           - On/Off. Recommended=On.
Home Auto Switching - Recommended=6/10 full
Away Auto Switching - Recommended=4/10 full

Choose your TV volume first, as these all work comparatively. These are 
Personal Preference only, so there'd be no point in doing a 'Recommended' bit.

Choose a league, then a team.

This is simple and is covered in the manual. This depends on the team you 
choose and your personal style of play, so you'll need to figure this one out  
by yourself.

Player Swaps
------------

Simple. You pick a league, team then player on the left side and select him. 
You choose different options on the right side and when you select him, the 
players swap. You can't transfer players, only swap them. This is as good as 
cheating because you could swap lower league players foe superstars, so Henry 
could be playing for Brighton.

Oooohhh the possibilities...

You should probably get rid of "Train", "Rain Down on Me" and "Wanna Rock". The 
best are "Jerk It Out", "Red Morning Light", "Burn Burn" and "Myxomatosis". 
Still, it's up to you.

Does exactly what is says on the tin. Pick two teams and play. I recommend 
sorting your team line-ups etc. in the Team Management option.

Game Modes
----------

-Career Mode-

Pick a domestic League, then a team from it. If you guide the team to glory by 
fulfilling enough objectives, you can play 5 seasons! If you do well, you will 
get entered into additional tournaments as well as the domestic leagues. Each 
week you can train your squad and individual players. I recommend training the 
poorer players, not only is it cheaper, but there's no point in training your 
superstars. You can also get access to the Transfer Market. Don't sell all of 
your 'crap' players, cause you need at least 18 squaddies and if a club is 
interested in someone else for big money, you can't sell them! Each season, you 
get a bigger transfer budget for each week, providing that you've done well!

-Practice Mode-

This is good fun. You get to use the training grounds and the training kits. 
You can also play against only a keeper.

Play a fixture manually in FIFA 2004 using a squad from 'Total Club Manager

2004' so I can't tell you what this does. If anyone knows, please e-mail me!

-EA SPORTS'TM' Bio-

The more EA Sports games you play for longer the more you unlock on each game. 
I don't know if this works 'cause mine is screwed. Apparently I have played for 
31354 days (wrong), am at Level 565 and have my next reward due at Level 4 
(does that make sense to you!?). See the manual for more info.

-Hall of Kits-

This is a collection of all the kits of teams you have beaten. Mine are all 
locked 'cause my Bio is screwed. See the manual for more info.

-User Profiles-

This is where you manage your profile, which is part of your Bio and is how you 
save options. See the manual for more info.

----------

I recommend watching all of these entertaining trailers for tips and info, and 
it is safe enough to skip the credits unless you or a friend/family member were 
involved in the game's creation.

General

There is no need for squad rotation. Once you find your best line up - keep it. 
There IS a morale bar, but it has little if any effect on your players.

Don't be afraid to buy someone who doesn't cost 40million... lots of cheap 
players are top class as well; Tim Howard, Jay Jay Okocha etc. See the 
'Outstanding Players FAQ' on GameFAQs for more like this.

It's a bad idea to rely on long balls; far better is the pass along the ground 
method.

David Beckham is not a great buy, as FIFA doesn't really reflect his long 
ball/free kick ability due to the hit-and-hope nature of these in the game.

Special Moves
-------------

-Shoulder Drop-

When you're coming up against a defender, you can double-tap the right analog 
stick in the direction you want to go and your player should drop his shoulder 
and knock the ball past the defender.

-The Drag and Go-

If you are cornered by a defender, hold R2 while standing still and then pull 
back on the right analog stick. Then press up and you should be able to knock 
the ball past the defender.

-Ronaldo Spin-

When dribbling the ball, hold down R2 and then rotate the right analog stick. 
Your player steps on the ball, shields it with his body and spins it around 
before rolling it into his path again. Difficult to do, but it should take you 
past most defenders.

You can play online by selecting 'Play Online' from the main menu. This allows 
you to play against real people anywhere who have a copy of FIFA Football 2004 
and have their PS2 linked up to a broadband connection. I myself do not have 
this, but from what I hear, the graphics aren't as good, the action is at times 
jerky, but I still think online FIFA would be brill anyway! If I ever get 
connected, watch out for me - my online handle is - as you know - 5HAD0W.
