The simple comical characters, and easy gameplay has me charmed right from the start! Preparing and Setting up for the EyeToy===[SETUP]============================== Holding the connector for the EyeToy USB Camera with the USB mark facing up, securely insert the connector into either of the USB ports on the front of the console. The LED power indicator (blue) on the front of the camera should light up blue to indicate that the EyeToy USB Camera is ready to use. Place the EyeToy USB Camera on top of, or immediately below your television and stand back between 1.5 metres and 2.0 metres. Rotate the manual focus ring to focus the camera lens. Try to ensure your body shape is clearly defined on the screen. Make sure that the background behind you is as motionless as possible, as background motion may hinder gameplay. Use the camera sensitivity screen in the Options Menu to balance any interference. The Basics of the EyeToy===[BASIC]============================================= To operate the menus of the EyeToy's games player motion is needed. Wave your hand over the option you want to use until the liquid fills the option's shape. If you ever want to exit a game or any other menu simply cover the camera with your hand. =====================================GAMES===================================== =================================SINGLE PLAYER================================= Air Guitar===[AIRGT]=========================================================== Say goodbye to standing in front of the mirror with a tennis racquet in your hands strumming along to rock anthems. Now you can stand in front of the TV, throw some windmills and strum along to some classic rock riffs. So don your denims, pump up the amp and flex your plectrum for all the ladies in the crowd, you rock! OK for this game you will require good timing and reflexes. There are four different icons you will see strolling down the screen to your guitar. The single hit/pick is a small version of the longer strum, resembling a fingernail in a way! The strum is the longer version of the above, requiring you to keep strumming for the duration of the note. The slide will require you to keep strumming while you follow the strum icon either up or down the guitar. The final icon is windmill. While still catching the icon at the correct time, strum across the whole of the guitar. Homerun===[HOMER]============================================================== Are you ready for some major league action? Have you perfected your line drive? Your batting skills will be put to the test by our pitcher's knuckle ball and backdoor sliders. You'll have ten balls to grab as many bases as possible, and score a minimum of twenty points. Go and slug it out on the park! For this game the objective is to get as many bases as possible, unless you can score a home run! Look at the minimap to see the locations of the fielders. Then take note of your direction gauge below yourself. Hit the ball as the line on the gauge reaches the direction where there are limited fielders on the map. For example if most of the fielders are concentrated at the right side of the map hit the ball as the pointer on the gauge is at the left to avoid all the fielders and score the most bases. Once you have hit the ball you'll need to cover the bases. Use whatever running motion you want as long as you stay in view of the camera. Flapping your arms like a madman is the most effective yet embarrasing tactic! Knockout===[KNOCK]============================================================= Can you last three rounds in the ring against the best boxers in the world? Avoid each pugilist's punch and land as many blows as you can to KO the competition. Listen out for the combo tune which signifies each opponent's weak spots, but if you start to see stars it won't be long before you're counted out. Try pushing the stars off the screen to beat the count. After your first match you will ecounter the speedbag minigame. Hit the bag as quick as you can to score high. Using a cushion or similar object is a sneaky effective trick here. After your second match the heavy bag minigame will be played. Hit the bag as hard as you can each time and then hit it just as it returns to it's starting level position to score the highest points. After your third match will be the final minigame. Hit the sparring mitts as hard and as fast as you can to send them away successfully. If you can see that the opponent is about to hit you simply duck out of sight of the camera. You will be dealt no damage and this is quite an effective yet sneaky tip. Your Opponents Dil "The Destroyer" Kumar He may not look it but he's a dangerous boxer with speed on his side, and you may find it difficult to keep up with him, so stay on your toes and keep moving. As the is the first opponent you face he is the easiest, a nice introduction into what knockout has to offer. A few hits to the head will bring this guy sharpish, three knockdowns will be lights out for Dil! Igor "The Indestructible" Ivanov Just as is name suggests this lad can take a beating, however don't get too complacent because he doesn't mind hitting back. Watch out for his spinning hook attack. A little more difficult than your last opponent, but you'll have got into the game now so this wannabe shouldn't be a challenge for you! His "spinning hook attack" can be easily seen coming so don't get too worried! Jonah "The Juggernaut" Johnson Have you ever tried boxing a bear? Well, Jonah is just as tough. If you hit him as hard as you can he will just keep coming forward. This guy knows no fear and feels no pain. Predictably this is another step up in difficulty from your last fight. Same methods still apply and are still as effective. This is when you may have to start to not go for the knockouts and try to minimise your risky manouvers as you may well have to win on points in both this and the following match. Linton "Lights Out" Lambert Raised on the streets, this mountain of a man is the whole package; stamina, speed and power. Unbeaten in all his fights, only his feet have ever touched the canvas. If you beat Lambert, you will be a true champion of champions. And then you can look just as handsome as Linton! Anyway this will be the most difficult fight you've had and this guy can really take a hammering. Winning on points will most probably be your way to victory so make sure you don't get hit as this guy hurts. Alot. Bubble Pop===[BBPOP]=========================================================== Pop all the bubbles as quickly as you can, but don't pop the red bubbles! Simple, yet strangely satisfying. Watch out for the bomb bubbles and detonate them at your peril - sometimes they can help you, but they can also cause a chain reaction that could wipe out a whole load of red bubbles. This game is pretty much common sense and a relaxing way to cool down after a heated boxing match. Simply pop the blue bubbles but not the red ones. You will encouter a few minigames for your troubles that shouldn't cause you any trouble enjoy! DIY===[DOITY]================================================================== Fancy yourself as a bit of a handy man? Or do you just like the idea of destroying stuff with power tools? Either way you're certainly going to like DIY. You're going to have to do a professional job to score big in this game. Try and find the best technique for each of the different disciplines. The Tasks Build new wall Here you will have to build a new wall 3 layers high. There will be transparant "ghost" bricks indicating where you need to place your bricks. Grab the bricks from the top of the screen and place them on top of the "ghost bricks" to complete that section of the wall. Tile the Bathroom Make some motion over one of the sections to turn the tile over. Turn all of the tiles over to complete tiling the wall. Be careful when moving over already tiled areas as too much movement will untile them again and you will take a hit to your performance bar. Hammer down the floor boards Simply hit the top of the nails with your hand to hammer them in. Be quick to complete all the nails given to you before they go away or your performance bar will decrease. Fix the leaks in the basement Rub over the holes in the pipes to stop the water pouring out. If the water gets too high use the pump at the bottom of the screen to get the water out. Demolish the wall Put your hands at the two holes in the wall then when the game starts move your hands outwards to demolish the wall. Once you have completed destroying the wall a new one will appear. Keep destroying the walls for more points! Shred the garden waste Knock the branches into the shredder but keep everything else out otherwise you'll lose some of your performance bar. Watch out directly above the shredder as bad items will usually appear there. Chainsaw the logs Grab hold of the chainsaw and cut the logs up to complete the level. The more logs you successfully cut up the more points you will score! Pneumatic Drill Chase the drill through the streets and get it under control to keep the fines down! Pump your arms as fast as you can to chase down the drill! If you don't manage to catch it your performance bar will pay for any damage caused. Drummin'===[DRUMS]============================================================= Beat out some rhythms on the drums. Keep up with the icons to get the best score possible. If you peform well enough you'll have to prove your skills against the king of drumming in the boss drum contest. It's all about timing and getting into the swing. Similar to the Air Guitar game only this time with drums. The single hit is the same principal as the single pick and the sustained hit is the equivilant of the strum. Goal Attack===[GOALA]========================================================== The goalkeeper is always the last line of defence, so don your keeper's gloves, make yourself as imposing as you can and try to stop the strikers from scoring. In each game you'll have a target number of balls you must save to proceed to the next round, so be ready to dive all over the goalmouth to keep the ball out. This is quite a difficult game. Moving closer to the camera will make your body image bigger letting you make better saves and move faster. Secret Agent===[SECRET]======================================================== Rotting in a dank, dark cell is no way to spend your life, but you're going to have to be careful if you want to escape from the enemy castle. Sneak around and collect all of the equipment you need for your break-out attempt, then avoid the searchlights and CCTV cameras if you don't want to get caught. The first task here is to collect 6 hacksaws. Simple enough avoid the cameras or move very slowly past them. If the camera is on the saw your after let it go there will be others. After this is another similar task asking you to get 8 ropes. The searchlight does the same as the cameras so be aware. Another collecting mission for 8 keys this time. There will be 2 spotlights in this level so try to keep 1 hand free at all times. A new type of level now. There will be a coloured lock displayed at the bottom right of the screen. Activate the same coloured lock on the screen by moving your hand to unlock it. Unlock all of the locks to continue. Don't worry about running out of time you will not get game over but you will have all the locks relocked. Destroy the alarm systems at the top of the screen when they are behind the guards back. You need to collect 6 disguise pieces here. The pieces dissapear very quickly here so if you don't think you can make it don't take the risk. You need to collect 12 keys in this mission. Same pricipals as the rest. A new level here it is still collection but there will be a laser here. Stand still until the laser passes over you and then collect the codebreakers. If time is running low or you or having trouble touch the spider and it will give you a power up that disables the laser for a few seconds. Another new level here. You are given a code at the start of the level and you have to enter it using the dials at the left, top and right of the screen. The code required and the code you are currently on is displayed at the bottom of the screen. The left dial alters the first number, the top dial alters the middle number and the right dial alters the last number. Another minigame here, touch the bottles to distract the spotlights and while they are gone destroy the lights at the top of the screen. Another collection level this time your after 20 key cards. The second coloured lock level same soloution as last time. Then it's te final collection mission of the game after collecting 12 explosives. Table Tennis===[TABLE]========================================================= Can you be the undisputed champion of the ping-pong table? Take on talented table tennis experts in the coveted challenge cup. Set your sights on gold because it's the only way you are going to win against the four opponents we've lined up for you. Yell at the top of your lungs at the same time as you hit the ball to give it an extra boost of speed. Is it really fair that you have to hit the ball with your hand? Feel free to pick up a tool of your choice, a book can work quite effectivly. Your Opponents Suzi Swift You'll need to get up so early to catch this girl you may have to stay all night. She moves around the table like lightening, so you'll have to hit the ball into space if you want to get the better of her. Max Armstrong With a powerful right arm, it's obvious that this lad takes the game seriously. The best way to catch him out is to wait until he does a pose and blast then blast the ball past him. Dragon Pants Jim He may not look it, but this boy is a table tennis prodigy, and he can bend the ball any way he chooses. Watch out for his patented "Dragon Smash" or you'll be left wondering how you lost so quickly. Master Pong He may look old but Master Pong is a ping pong master! Watch out for his power shots and spin attacks. You'll be a master if you manage to beat him! Kung 2===[KUNG2]=============================================================== In the land of the Orient, highly trained martial arts experts are always on hand to kick you where it hurts or karate chop you down to size. If you're looking for a fight then these guys will take you on! Minigames and Bosses Ice Breaker How solid are your attacks? Check out the power of your punches by smashing up blocks of ice. A clean hit to the centre of the blocks will break through the whole lot. Room of Traps Quick reactions are the key to this game, so watch out for the statues as they open their mouths, and it will give you the split second you need to avoid the attack. Escaping Nija Don't let any of the nija escape. Your reflexes will have to be super fast to get a super score. Tengu Always ready to punish the arrogant, Tengu uses his flaming sword attack to good effect, damaging all those that get in his way. Tengu also has the power to turn to stone, making himself indestructible, so you'll have to wait for a good opportunity to hit him. Retsudo Master of the ninja, Retsudo has created a house of traps to foil any would-be assailant. He prides himself on his mechanical prowess and he won't show his face for long, so you'll have to be quick to catch him. The only time he makes himself vunerable is when he's triggering one of his traps, so strike while your still standing. Hydra A beast of legend, the Hydra has three heads each with it's own special power; fire, ice and lightning. If you come face to face with this demon of the deep, strike as soon as you see it emerge from the water and dodge it's devastating attacks. If you defeat the Hydra your Kung 2 quest will be complete. Mr Chef===[MCHEF]============================================================== Can you handle the heat of the kitchen? You're going to have to keep your customers well fed if you're going to succeed in this game! Grab and drag all the ingredients from the top of the screen and build them into the perfect burger. Upon completion of an order, the bin icon at the top of the screen will rotate and become a bell icon, wave your hand over the bell to send those dinners to the diners. If you make a gastronomic mistake then wave your hand over the bell/bin icon at the top of the screen to junk the food and start again. If you prove yourself in the kitchen, the current master chef may challenge you to a "cook off". Good luck and start building those burgers - yum-yum, my tummy's growling just thinking about it! Ok for this game there will be your ingredients at the top of your screen and your orders at the bottom. Match the ingredients to the order and hit the bell button at the top of the screen to complete the order. After your time is up for the first restraunt section you will be taken to a minigame. You have to mix the milkshakes. Do whatever you want to spin the shaker around and complete the task. After this you will be challenged to a cook-off by the current master chef. You will first have to chop a pickle by moving your hand up and down in a quick motion. Next will come the tomatoes, crush them in whatever way you want moving closer to the camera making your chosen crushing tool bigger works effectivly. Finally will be the cheese grating, use a similar technique to the pickles only in a diagonal direction. After all of that you will be back at the restraunt taking orders. This time you will have two new igredients at the top of your screen pancakes and ice cream. Completing the previous restraunt level will bring you to the ice juggler minigame. There will be lots of ice cubes falling from the top of the screen and you will have to knock them into the jug in the middle of the screen. Good Luck! Next will be another cook-off same things to do as last time you'll be back to burger making in no time! Well here you are back at the restraunt with two new ingredients replacing the other ones. Tomatoes will now replace pancakes and ice cream is now replaced with pickles. Later on after finishing your orders you will come to the soda fountain minigame. Push the lever to the left to make the soda flow faster and pull it back to stop the flow of soda. Please note you will recieve no points for overfilling a glass and you will lose time. After this you will come to your final cook-off it's the same as usual, complete it to complete this game! Monkey Bars===[MONKY]========================================================== Get inside your Monkey Machine and hit the corner buttons to swing your way to victory. Collect as many bananas as you can and watch out for the cherries for some super bonus points. If you are quick enough, the Blue Monkey Machine will challenge you to a race, but don't let him beat you or he'll laugh in your face - be warned, his breath is foul! =================================MULTI PLAYER================================== Bomb Dodge===[BOMBD]=========================================================== Hit the bomb around the screen but don't let it explode on your section or you'll be out. Weight Lifting===[WEIGT]======================================================= Wave your hands just under the weight to lift it to the top of the screen. The first competitor to raise the weight is the winner. Chopper Landing===[LANDI]====================================================== Hit the landing pad at the top of the screen when the helicopter's directly above it's centre. It's all about accurately landing your helicopter, so timing's vital. Building Crush===[CRUSH]======================================================= Fancy yourself as a demolitions expert? You're going to have to find a good technique to crush the building in the fastest time. Runnin'===[RUNIN]============================================================== Get those arms and legs pumping, because it's going to take a lot of effort to get round the track in record time. The first across the finish line is the winner. Sunflower===[SUNFL]============================================================ Help your sunflower grow by using your green fingers to wave over the rain cloud to water the plant. The first to make thier flower grow to the top of the screen will be the winner. ==================================PLAYROOM===================================== Colouring===[COLOR]============================================================ Have you ever fancied yourself as an artist? See what masterpieces you can create by moving your whole body around. Pool===[POOLY]================================================================= Make up your own rules to play but don't get snookered! Who can pot the lot? Who can get the biggest break? How fast can you sink all the balls? Take turns with a friend or play by yourself - it's up to you. Sonic Sub===[SONSB]============================================================ Use your voice to move the submarine around and underwater world. The pitch of your voice controls the sub's depth and your volume controls it's speed. Sonic Goo===[SNGOO]============================================================ Manipulate the on-screen effects with your voice or any type of noise. The more noise you make the more the screen will distort. Try experimenting with as many noises as you can think of. Citrus Fighters===[CITRS]====================================================== Try to knock the other characters off their fruit to find the best fruit fighter! The faster you move your fruit towards the opponent, the more you'll inflict, but be careful because if you move too fast your fighter might fall off. Wizard===[WIZRD]=============================================================== Cast spells with a flick of the wrist. How many spells can you conjure up? Use coloured opjects to trace out different shapes and create a little bit of magic on your TV. Chameleon===[CHAME]============================================================ Blend into your surroundings with this super special effect. When the countdown is displayed at the start of the effect, move out of view of the camera and when the effect has been initialised, move back in front of the camera and see what happens. Solar System===[SOLAR]========================================================= Travel around the solar system exploring strange planets. Each of the planets has its own unique atmosphere so it might do something strange to your image. Just like the chameleon effect you'll have to stand out of view of the camera during the countdown, no spacesuit required! ====================================EXTRAS===================================== Spytoy===[SPYTY]=============================================================== Another new feature for EyeToy: Play 2, SpyToy turns the camera into your very own security device. Set it up and see what you can catch on film using the different modes. Alarm Mode Want to frighten intruders away? Then this is the setting for you. Enter your secret code number, activate the system and then simply leave the TV on. Anyone that enters the view of the camera will get quite a shock as the alarm sounds and warning graphics appear on-screen, letting them know they've been caught on camera. Stealth Mode This mode lets you keep an eye on who's been sneaking about. Turn the TV off this time and anyone coming near the camera will have their picture taken without them knowing a thing. Look through the pictures in your own time and see what's been happening behind your back. Time Lapse Mode Use this mode to take a whole series of snapshots. Check out the comings and goings over a whole day or experiment making time-compressed movies. Spy Games Why not try using SpyToy to create some real life stealth games. Place an object in front of the camera and activate Alarm Mode. Then take turns with friends to see who can steal the object away without triggering the siren. Video Messaging===[VIDEO]====================================================== Have you ever fancied yourself as a movie star? With Video Messaging you'll be able to record directly from the camera to a memory card. Follow the on-screen instructions to select the length you want to record and then act your heart out.
