by mast3r ch33f 93

hi fellow supercheaters,welcome to my devil may cry 4 walkthrough,by me mast3r ch33f 93.

Mission 1: A Crazy Party A tutorial level, enemies will enter the room and you have to kill them. This is a good time to practice attacking with both guns and swords.

Mission 2: The Blood LinkThis mission has more of the enemies that you fought in the last mission, and some others called the wrath. These can be identified by the hump on their backs. They have bombs, and they explode with they're killed. Try to kill them at long range using your guns.

Boss: Hell VanguardHe uses a teleport ability. He will often attack by teleporting right next to you, then hitting you with his scythe. The easiest way to kill him seems to be attacking him at a distance with your guns.

Mission 3: The Devils TowerAs the mission starts, there will be two enemies on a roof ahead of you. They are armed with bows and can do a large amount of damage. You should take these two out before you fight the other enemies here. Use a jump kick to reach them.

Once you've defeated the two on the roof, you can work on the other enemies. The blue barrels will explode if you shoot them, so use them to take a few out.

Inside the club are numerous red orbs that you can get by smashing anything and everything in the place. Smash the dart boards to reveal a panel that you can go to. Hit the runes on the panel with your sword and you'll unlock the rear door. Go through the door and grab the shotgun.

Fight through the rear of the bar. You can use the pole here to your advantage. You'll be fighting Hell Sloths here. They teleport as you fight them.

Exit the bar, and there is a blue orb fragment on the ledge to your right. There is also a door to Secret Mission 1: The Exorcist here.

Down the street, next to the dumpster is a Divinity Statue. Use the red orbs you've colleted to buy skills here.

Boss: Cerberus,Cerberus is as giant three headed dog. Each of his heads is vulnerable, as are his two front paws. You must first clear an area of ice before you can attack it.

Attacking his paws enough will cause him to fall.

He uses several different attacks:

Head butt
Paw swipe
Jump attack
Ice blades
Ice breath
Earthquake He usually does this attack when he's around health. Before this attack he yells "You aren't human!"
Roar, which causes ice to fall from the ceiling.
Defeating Cerberus will reward you with a weapon, also called Cerberus.

Mission 4: The Unwanted OneHead up the stairs to the blue door, and go through it. You'll have to fight your way through this room, and the next one in order to proceed. Once all the enemies are defeated, the door will unlock.

In this next room, destroy the statues and runes to activate the elevator.

The enemies in this next area have ranged attacks. The pipes above you, near the door have a blue orb fragment.

Go through the green door, up the ramp to the yellow door. Past this is a bridge. As you cross it, it will crumble and you'll land in a room full of enemies. When you've defeated them, use the teleporter. On the other side of the teleport, go through the red door. On the other side of the door is Gigapede.

Boss: Gigapede,You can attack Gigapede with guns, or you can jump on its back and attack with melee weapons.

Mission 5: Of Devils and SwordsIf you have the Special Edition, there is a fight with Jester here.

Go through the door on the upper level. Use the Astronomical Board on the pedestal. Head down and pick up the Vajura. You can then use the panel in the center of the room to jump back to the top.

Go through the blue door. Use Vajura on the crank to use the elevator. At the top, go up the stairs to the Soul of Steel.

Now head back down, and cross the pit.

The red skull near the elevator leads to Secret Mission 2.

Once you're in the elevator, bad guys jump will jump onto it. Push them off before they weigh down the elevator and it falls.

Boss: Agni and RudraFocus on one boss, then the other Parry trick to make them drop their sword

You can get them to hit each other by jumping in the air above them.

As a reward for defeating theses bosses, you'll get twin swords called Agni and Rudra.

Mission 6: Family Ties You'll be presented with three trials. You must pass two to continue on with the game. If you do all three, you'll receive the Artemis gun.

Trial of SkillThe orange staircase leads to the Trial of Skill.

Run toward the goal, avoiding spikes. At the end, pick up the essence of skill, then fight the enemies that attack you.

Trial of the WarriorThe green staircase leads to the Trial of the Warrior.

Fight the enemies you find here. They are protected by shields. Activate the runes on the wall to temporarily disable the shields.

Trial of WisdomThe stairs in front of the purple stone lead to the Trial of Wisdom.

In this trial, there are three rooms. In each room are three doors. You'll have to select one of three doors to continue on to the next room. Choose the wrong door and you'll not only be attacked, but you'll have to start at the beginning.

Each door has a number of lights above it. In the first room pick the door with 4 lights. In the second room, pick the door with 2 lights. In the third room, pick the door with 3 lights.

Mission 7: A Chance MeetingLook around this area for the red skull that starts Secret Mission 3:Death From Above. It's in the hallway, you can jump up to an alcove to the statue where it starts.

There is a blue orb fragment near the door, on one of the ledges.

Jump down the pit, go through the door at the bottom. This will take you to the library. Next to one of the pawns is the Orihalcon Fragment. You only have to kill the pawn that the fragment is next to, you can leave the others alone if you like.

Go outside of the library and use the red jump pads to get to the top. Enter the green door.

In the rafters of this room, above the door, is a blue orb fragment. Once you have it, go through the door, then in this next room, go through the smaller of the two doors.

In this next room, as you approach the statues, you'll be attacked. Fight them off, then pick up the Siren's Shriek.

In the next room you'll find a combat adjudicator. You'll have to fight off another swarm of enemies.

Go up the stairs and take the elevator up.

Find the flaming door, and use Siren's Shriek on it. This will unlock the door.

Go up the stairs, then activate the rune. This will reveal a sphere. Attack the sphere using combos, it will drop the Crystal Skull. When the Skull drops, you'll be attacked by more enemies. Kill the leaders, the others will respawn until the leaders are dead.

Head back to the big door to the divinity statue. The boss comes next.

Boss: Vergil,Vergil has excellent blocking, and is difficult to kill with Devil Arms. You must wait for him to attack, then strike. When you do, you can hit him repeatedly.

The other way to do it is to use guns to hit him from a distance. This allows you to stay out of range of his attacks.

Mission 8: A Renewed FearThis level has yellow liquid that will hurt you if you touch it.

You'll need to collect 4 tusks. The first is on the ledge to your right when you start the mission. The other is on the other side of the room. There is also a blue orb fragment here. Run around the area and destroy all five orbs.

To access Secret Mission 4, drop down the pit, then go to the red light.

On one of the ledges as a crack in the wall. Go through it and use the divinity statue. Next to the statue, you can attack the wall to open a passage to proceed.

Keep going until you encounter Gigapede. It will chase you, keep going until you reach a hole too small for him to continue. Once you're there you can turn and attack him if you wish. If you defeat him, you'll get 1000 red orbs.

In this next area, just keep killing enemies. The orbs they drop will go into the thing in the middle. Once enough orbs have gone into it, the enemies will stop coming and the Ignis Fatuus can be picked up.

There will be two passages ahead. One has the Cerberus Combat Adjudicator. The other has another gigapede who will chase you to a door. Either go through the door, or fight the gigapede. Use Ignis Fatuus to go through the door.

Boss: Heart of Leviathan,There are three hearts. The red heart, and blue heart are attackable. The center heart is not. You must attack either the red or blue heart, and once it's destroyed, then you can attack the center heart for a brief period. If you have Devil Trigger, activate it for this attack. After that period, the center heart will close and you'll have to repeat the process.

Mission 9: Faded Memories,Cross the bridge. In the first room you'll have to fight three spiders before you can continue.

Do through the door and you'll find a divinity statue. There is a blue orb fragment nearby.

mirror puzzle solution:Smash the crystals with the red Xs to direct the beams as indicated.Next up is a light and mirror puzzle. You must destroy the correct mirrors to proceed. To reset the puzzle, hit the rune at the top to reset it. You must smash two mirrors: the left mirror of the top row, and the middle mirror of the bottom row.

Dash through the hall. You'll want to go as fast as you can to avoid the arrows that will be shot at you. You'll also want to avoid the spinning pillars.

Go through the door and turn left. You'll see a waterfall, remember its location because you'll have to come back here later. Continue on to the Nevan combat adjudicator. You can jump to the area above the adjudicator to get Sprial.

Go through the door next to the divinity statue. Watch out for more spinning columns. Next up is a fight with spiders, and you'll pick up Ambrosia.

Head back to the waterfall you passed earlier. Behind it is a passage. Find the red skull to get to Secret Mission 5: Destroyer

There is also a Devil Star down one of the paths.

Continue on, use Ambrosia to open the door, and get ready for a boss fight.

Boss: NevanHer ranged attacks are easy to dodge if you keep moving.

She has a shield made up of bats that are on her. The best way is to disable this shield is to attack her with a sword. Once you do, the bats will fly away for a few seconds. When they do, activate DT (if you have it) and attack. Do as much damage as you can in those few seconds.

When she's almost dead, she switches tactics. She teleports to the center of the room and drops her bat shield. If she touches you, she will not only drain your life, but also heal herself. Be sure to stay away from her, use your guns to finish her off.

If you don't finish he off quickly, she will reactive her bat shield. This time, it's somewhat stronger. Again, use your sword to attack the shield, then use DT to attack her.

The reward for defeating her is the lightning enchanted guitar.

Mission 10: The JobHead back to the statue just before the Nevan fight. Equip the guitar and use in on the other statue in this area to get a blue orb fragment.

Next to this statue is another statue, use the stone mask there to extend the bridge. On the far end of the bridge is a Neo-Generator.

Next to where you got the generator is a skull that starts Secret Mission 6: Flight of the Demon.

Head back to the beginning of the level and go through the blue door.

Continue on past the spinning pillars. You'll have to fight two Dullahans. Go throught the garden to the storeroom. Here you'll have to kill all the enemies that attack you before the door will unlock.

Use the generator on the bridge to put it in the correct position. Go through the yellow door.

Mission 11: RevengeThe first room is filled with gears, and you'll have to fight a couple of enemies. There is a Devil Star on one of the ledges here. Secret Mission 7 also starts in this room.

Head to the corridor, where there is a blue shard in the pipes above you.

In the next room, jump on the sword to get to the walkway above you. In this area you must find two blocks, then push them into a holes in the wall. Look for a wall with cracks in it.

Now head down the stairs. Under these same stairs is a statue that you can destroy. It will give you a blue orb fragment.

Hop on the wagon transport platform. Some enemies will attack you as it moves. It will take you to a divinity statue, and a boss fight.

Boss: BeowulfThe less health he has, the harder he fights. He moves slow, but hits hard.

Mission 12: Hunter and HuntedHop back on the transport platform. Again, enemies will attack you as you ride it. At the end of the ride, head all the way back to the bridge.

Cross the bridge and go through the door. Here you'll find a Vital star and a divinity statue. Head down the stairs. The boss is next, but if you have the special edition, you'll have access to a Jester fight here.

Boss: GeryonIn the first part of the fight, he'll charge you repeatedly. Simply dodge and shoot him. After a while, the bridge will fall into the arena. After this, he'll change tactics.

Once in the area, he will alternate between two attacks. He'll stand there and launch bombs at you. He'll then disappear and chase you while he drops red orbs that slow you down if you touch them. You can use whatever weapons you feel most comfortable with.

The reward for defeating him is the Quicksliver style.

Mission 13: Chaos' Warm WelcomeThe first room has plenty of enemies to warm up on. After you've defeated them, head down the stairs. Along the stairs is a red light, which is the entrance to Secret Mission 8.

Go to the bottom of the stairs, and go through the corridor. Here you'll find a light puzzle. You must destroy the left mirror on the top row, and the center mirrior on the second from the top row.

Now break the wall and go into the hallway. Break the mirror here, then go back and get the Orihalcon. You can use this to open the large door nearby to get to the boss fight.

Boss: VergilThis fight is very similar to the last time you fought Vergil, except that he has Beowulf now. Use whatever strategy worked for you last time.

Mission 14: DriveHead up the long path until you reach Beowulf. At the top of the path is a statue. If you use Beowulf on it you'll get a blue orb fragment. There is a divinity statue at the bottom of the path.

Take the elevator up and go through the door. You'll find yourself in a long hallway. Near the two blue torches is Secret Mission 9.

Continue on to the next room where you'll have to fight a wave of enemies, then go down the stairs. The statue at the bottom has a green orb.

Get on the platform and it will take you to the other side. Fight through all the rooms here until you reach the garden. Here, a pillar of blue light that will take you to the boss bar from the beginning of the game.

Go outside and head down the street to finish the mission.

Mission 15: The GatecrasherMove forward through two rooms and two fights. You'll be fighting demons called "Fallen." To defeat them, you must first cut off their wings, then hit them in the stomach.

To activate the elevator, you'll need three Orihalcon Fragments.

Go up the stairs to a red orb fountain, use it, then go down the stairs.

Move forward to the rune, activate it, then head back to the room where you fought the spiders. You should find that a clock has appeared. Turn it one time, and one time only. You'll be attacked by more spiders, then head through the door that unlocks.

You should end up somewhere called the gear room. It's called that because it's a room full of gears. Make a note of this room's location, you'll have to return here later.

Secret Mission 10 is located here. To activate it, strike the rune clock. A sphere will descend, which you should attack.

Drop down to the bottom, and go through the door. At the end of the hall is an Orihalcon Fragment.

Head back to the gear room and turn the blue clock once. Go to the door at the top of the room and get the Orihalcon Fragment. Head back to the gear room.

Hit the clock again and go through the door you originally came in. Grab the Orihalcon Fragment, and head back.

Hit the clock one last time, go through the blue door and down the spiral staircase. Here you'll find a blue orb fragment.

Now head back to the elevator. Taking the elevator will complete the mission.

Mission 16: Win or LoseTake the right path to the blue door. Keep going until you find a rune clock. Hit it once and a globe will drop down. Attack this globe and you'll get a Golden Sun. Secret Mission 10 is located in this room, if you haven't done it already.

Now head back to the elevator and go through the red door opposite of the divinity statue.

Go down through the crack in the wall. You'll find two runes. Activate both of them and two orbs will drop down. You must hit one orb so that it smashes into the other. This will produce an Onyx Moonshard.

Return to the elevator at the beginning of the level and use the Golden Sun and Onyx Moonshard to open the door.

Head forward, down the stairs, and through the red door at the bottom.

Boss: LadyShe'll try to shoot you with her handgun and use her rocket launcher. The rockets do a good deal of damage, but they can be easily dodged. The handgun does minimal damage, so it's best to ignore the handgun shots and worry about dodging the rockets.

Try to close the distance between you and attack her with your Devil Arms. She has good ranged attacks, but she's weak up close.

The reward for defeating her is Kalina Ann, a rocket launcher.

Mission 17: Inner Demons As you begin this level there is a Vital Star S above you.

Head down the corridor. At the end is a door and a crack in the wall. Going through the crack is optional. Here you'll find a replay of Trial of the Warrrior. You must hit the runes to deactivate the shields to attack the enemies. The reward is a yellow orb.

Back in the hallway, head through the door. In this room, called the God-Cube chamber, is a red orb crystal and a Combat Adjudicator statue. To use the statue you have to hit it with a combo from Beowulf.

If you have the special edition of the game, you have the option to fight Jasper fight here.

Use the cubes to go up one level and use the door there. Follow the path to a blue orb fragment. Head back to the God-Cube chamber and continue up. Go through the door at the top of the chamber.

Next you'll have to go through the Trial of Wisdom again. For this trial you'll have to run through a corridor filled with moving spikes.

Past the Trial of Wisdon is a jump pad that will take you up a level. Here you can jump into the rafters and get to Secret Mission 11.

Move forward to the boss fight.

Boss: DoppelgangerTo hit him you must open a window cover in the room to shine light on him. To open a window you have to hit it the cover several times. This will move it out of the way and shine a light in the room. Once you hit him with the light, he'll be stunned for a moment. The lights stay on until the Doppelganger closes them.

He has an attack that puts a black circle under you. When this happens move out of the circle.

The reward for defeating him is Doppelganger style.

Mission 18: Invading HellMove forward across the bridge.

The first major fight is a chess battle. You can take the pieces out one at a time, or attack the king. The king is well guarded, but killing him will destroy all the other pieces as well. After this fight is over, a mirror portal appears in the center of the room.

Go through the portal and continue forward to another mirror. Before you go through the mirror, look behind it. There is a giant statue, next to it is a red orb pedestal and Secret Mission 12.

Head through the mirror. Here you'll find tablets of different colors. Each takes you to a boss that you've defeated already.

Black: Doppelganger
Blue: Geryon
Green: Agni and Rudra
Orange: Several enemies and two Hell Vanguards
Light Blue: Cerberus
Purple: Nevan
Red: Leviathan's Heartcore

You must defeat any combination that forms a circle in order to advance. There are many different combinations, some of them are listed below.

Blue (Geryon), Green (Agni & Rudra), Orange (Hell Vanguards), Purple (Nevan), Red (Leviathan), White (Beowulf), Yellow (Gigapede)

Defeating all nine of them will get you a blue orb.

Mission 19: Forces Collide This level starts off with a conventional fight. Once you've defeated the bad guys, use the portal.

This next room is filled with mirrors. Ignore the enemies you find here, instead look at the mirrors. Dante's reflection appears in only one mirror. Find that mirror and smash it. After you do this, Dante's reflection will appear in another mirror, which you should also find and smash. Repeat this until a mirror appears in the center of the room. This mirror acts as a portal.

In the next room, kill all of the enemies before time runs out. You're fighting Abysses, and time is measured by the hourglass. If you kill them all before time runs out, a path to a mirror portal will appear.

Follow the path of mirrors, go across the bridge to the divinity statue. At the statue spend all the money you have on items and skills. This is your last chance in the game to by anything. When you're ready, proceed on to the boss fight.

Boss: ArkhamArkham himself isn't all that hard. His attacks consist of punches and kicks which are easily avoided. The real problem is his minions. They're suicide bombers who run up to you and explode. You'll have to kill them at a distance. The good news is that they stop spawning after a while. One good strategy is to avoid Arkham at first and focus on his minions, then go after Arkham once the bombers are dead.

Halfway through the fight, Vergil will show up and help you. If you like, you can plug in a second controller and have a friend play as Vergil.

Mission 20: Screaming Souls This mission is just the boss fight.

Boss: VergilVergil has great defense and does a lot of damage, especially when he's in Devil Trigger mode.

Use any and all items in your inventory against Vergil. You'll need every edge you can get, and you won't really need them after this fight.

When he goes into Devil Trigger mode, the best thing to do is back off and concentrate on not getting hit. Wait until he goes out of DT to attack.

After this fight is over the game credits will play. Don't put down your controller however, because enemies will appear and attack you. You have to keep fighting as the credits roll. If you kill 100 of them, you'll see a hidden scene at the end of the credits.
