Hello and welcome to Africa. This Guide will tell you all you need to know.
I made this guide for two reasons: my love of the game, and the fact that
there is only one ps2 FAQ and it's not finshed and was abanndoned. Let's go
see what we can do here.

Now that you have started your safari, allow me to tell you how to survive
here.

Remember to use adreneline mode! note that you can use adreneline for all
dangerous (red) animals without penalty. if used on a game animal (green),
you will actually take credit for the trophy. you can, infact, hunt *most*
of the game by using only adreneline. but many of your targets are not
dangerous.

You map is VITAL. Let me say it slowly: V-I-T-A-L. On expert, it is good for
looking at terrain features and finding the best route. on novice and
advanced, it will show animals in range. make good use of this piece of
equipment!

0. Where is my health bar?!?!?!
 this is perhaps the most important thing of all. your health bar is the
heartline moniter above the adreneline bar.

1. where are the animals?
 this is actually not that big of a problem. I once wasted a good 5 hours
trying to find the last Lechwee. so? use your head! where do you THINK they
will be? where does your tracker say to look? what does your guide say?

2. why did I fail the big five mission?!
 try to find the "Trophy animal. It is larger and darker than the others."

Hunt 5 Turtle Dove in the Palm Forest
 -just walk and shoot when your reticle turns red

Hunt 3 Impala near the Karoo Plateau
 -there is a 50-50 chance of the rhino attacking you AS YOU START WITH NO
WARNING, or it might just sit there. If it attacks you right away, the only
option is to restart. IF HE DOES THAT AND YOU FINISH THE MISSION, he will do
that everytime you play that mission in Open Safari.

Track and hunt 1 South Cape Kudu
 -there are many wild dogs here. you must be careful. I suggest using one of
my strategies (towards the end of the guide).

Hunt 4 Duiker on the Vaal River
 -these little devils are really hard to kill. It's NEARLY impossible to
get a insta-kill, and they take at least 4 decent shots from .243 (recomended
firearm).

Hunt 2 Warthog on the Lesotho Highlands
 -this SHOULD be easy. unfortunately, there are 3 wild dogs between you and
your quarry. and when you find the warthogs, the cover is so thick you can't
even see them. and when you shoot, 2 warthogs will attack you!

HUnt 5 Wildebeast on the South Cape Plains
 -if you want some extra padding for points, then you should shoot the darker
ones. a one-hit kill is almost assured.

Hunt 4 Springbok near the Karoo Plateau
 -this is a herd hunt on foot. grab a shotgun and fire! if you want to be more
sporting, then follow the herd until you see green dots with circles. these
are the regualr targets. the other were just freebies. blast away. a shotgun
works nicely for these antelopes. I don't know why.

Hunt 1 Trophy Rhino near the Karoo Plateau
 -first, you will see 1 rhino (sometimes 2). do NOT shoot. there is a third
also. do NOT shoot that one either. sneak around (or you better be an
adreneline junky) and you will eventually find a wild dog. luckily, you're
too far for the 3 rhinos to hear you. take the dog out and head farther along.
you will eventually come to see a watering hole and a dark rhino. FIRE! you
cannot get a headshot from this location, so shoot until you run out, and fire
again.

Hunt 3 zebra in the Petrified Forest
 -this should be easy enough for you, but watch out for the leopards, they're
everywhere. you actually must break through a WALL of thee leopards, then you
must take on of two paths, both of whcih have leopards guarding them. since
you will use adreneline mode VERY OFTEN, I must point out that if you use
adreneline mode too late, and the animal reaches you WHILE IN ADRENELINE MODE,
you will die instantly. very unlike a leopsard, as they normally have to
attack 3 times to kill you

Hunt 1 Trophy Leopard in the Petrified Forest
 -this is perhaps the easiest big five. the right leopard is brownish and
easy to spot. MAKE SURE YOU SHOOT THE TROPHY. also, it's in this little
glen and you will go one-on-one with him. (see this: the Duel) Note: he's in
the northeast corner of the map.

Hunt 5 Egyptian Geese
 -these are the largest bird you will shoot and the easiest to hit. go nuts.
use the 12 gauge on these or you'll require multiple shots. the pistol works
nicely as well.

Hunt 5 Hartebeast in the Kalahari Desert
 -simply do that same as the wildebeast drive and this should be easy. just
be careful when you pick which path to take!

Hunt 5 Klipspringers in Damaraland
 -these little rats are just as annoying as duiker, if not MORE. there are 5.
there are wild dogs everywhere.

Hunt 3 Steenbuck along the Orange River.
 -these are a hunter's worst nightmare. yet ANOTHER tiny creature! these
little scamps muderous to track down. luckily, you will only ever find big
five in there respective locations. In other words, leopards are only in the
Petrified Forest (thank God).

Track and Hunt one Gemsbok
 -I must say this is the MOST annoying track&hunt of all of them. ranks right
up there with the LITERALLY endless stream of wild dogs in the rhinoceros big
five level.

Hunt 3 Kudu at Damaraland.
 -Kudu? KUDU?! Seriously, WHY MUST IT BE KUDU? Kudu are always followed by
legions of wild dogs. LEGIONS!

Hunt 2 baited Leopards
 -this is somewhat difficult because there are 5-6 leopards and 4 of those are
at the bait, while 1-2 prowls about (one is sleeping on a rock). the number of
leopards is NOT confirmed.

Hunt 3 Lechwee in the Okawango Delta
 -you are in SEVERE danger. you must adreneline ALL buffalo or you WILL die.
also of note, they will not follow you in the water. take advantage of that.

Hunt 2 zebra in the Okawongo Delta
 -learn to love this location. thank God there aren't nearly as many buffalo
in this level.

Hunt 2 Ostirch on the Chobe Savanha
 -WARNING! There are 5 elephants close together. only 1-2 will actually charge
however. the two ostrich are together as well, on a small ridge.

Hunt 5 Buffalo on the Makagika Saltpan.
 -these guys are tougher, but they are still on shot-kills. bring to bear a
.416 and they're toast.

Hunt 1 Trophy Elephant
 -this is when the big five tend to one-shot you. the elephant, buffalo, and
often (not always) the rhinoceros will take you out in one shot. make sure
you shoot before they charge.

Track and Hunt 1 Bushbuck
 -the only danger on this map is a lone elephant. Unfortunately, it's right
where the final track is, as well as nearly on top of the bushbuck. Kill the
elephant immedately, or you will face great horrors towards the end of this
mission.

Hunt 5 Supur-winged Geese
 -not as large as egyptian geese but still large. note that all birds except
for the turtle dove recommend the 12 gauge as opposed to the .410. I perfer
handgun hunting. But you may find it to challenging when you fire one bullet
instead of having a spread of birdshot. You must aim better, lead your
targets, and don't give up! Fact: handguns will use more ammo in wingshooting
than shotguns. Another Fact: rifles CAN be used in this mode but they suck
harshly.

 -yes, 3 buffalo. thankfully, the trophies are somewhat near each other.
WARNING!: duel doesn't work for these monsters! they take to many shots to
kill! remember to use the right pistol (.500) and the right gun (same as the
jeep hunting; .416).

Hunt 3 Baited Hyena
 -this is actually quite difficult. you see, hyena's actually wil steal the
bait faster than the leopards. and they seem to do more dammage when they
attack you. get ready for a showdown!

Hunt 2 Trophy Lions
 -This is dangerous. The lionesses will attack on sight. However, the two
Trophy animals are side-by-side at the watering hole. ADRENELINE IS VERY
IMPORTANT IN THIS MISSION!!!

congratulations:
YOU HAVE COMPLETED THE GAME! Now all modes are unlocked for all
locations and animals. To do the actual safari over again (with cutscenes),
you must start a new game. No, I mean a new PROFILE.
