Credits/Thanks 8.) Author's Input =================== 1.) Introduction =================== PeTeRL90: Howdy and welcome to our Fishing Guide for Atelier Iris 3: Grand Phantasm. This idea was actually x_revenge's, and after going through his guide and helping him fix some things, he gave me permission to post this and change anything I felt needed to be changed, but I submitted this as a co-author guide because like I said, this was his idea and I feel he should get some of the recognition for this, if not most of it or all of it. This guide will cover what items and fish reside in each fishing area. x_revenge (taken from his previous version): This faq is not by any means ''the best'' or anything. At the time I started writing this, I had just found out how you can fish and it's also my first Faq (Yay!), so cut me some slack, will ya? There ARE region changes (I think mostly in names) so if you see something that is exactly that but is called something else, it might be THIS case. If something like that is happening, then I cannot help (maybe you should ask for a PAL-NTSC Changes FAQ). One last thing, there may be times I have missed something. If so, then e-mail me (see the ending of the Faq). However, to do that you must be sure that it's not a region change. We are trying to help people, not confuse them. =================== 2.) Fishing Basics =================== As the guide has pointed out, this guide is about fishing. You'll be able to start fishing once you get the Fishing Pole after completeing the Combat Exam quest. In order to fish, you basically go to any map and look for the fish icon. This is the fishing spot on the map. Some Alterworlds have two of them, so make sure to look around. To fish, simply cast the line and wait until you get a snag. You'll then get a bar at the bottom of the screen with a red line. You need to stop the moving cursor in the red line in order to successfully catch the fish or item in the lake. Monsters also rest at the bottom of the lake, so watch it. The length of the red line is dependant on the item or fish that you've snagged. For example, if you happen to snag a monster, the red line will be a long one. The speed of the cursor is also dependant on the item or fish that you have snagged. =================== 4.) Fishing Spots =================== This section will list the fishing spots, what fish and items can be caught there, and if there's a quest involved with any of the fish you catch. Difficulty = How difficult it is to catch the said item or fish. This means how large/small/fast/slow the red bar and cursor is. Easy means generally a large, slow to medium bar whereas hard means a smaller, more faster red bar and cursor. Frequeny = This represents how often you'll snag a certain fish or item. Quest = Which quest the fish is required for. Client = Which client requested the fish you need to catch. Reward = What the reward is for said quest if there is one involving the fish or item. Monster Battle Difficulty = How easy or hard it is to fish up a monster, not how hard/easy the battle is. Field Bonus = What field bonus you can obtain by fishing. ========================== Ancient Forest of Valtessa ========================== Items you can get: ------------------ 1.) FAQ =================== Q: Why can't I catch the fish/item listed in the place I'm fishing at? A: The fish/item is random when you snag something, so be patient and keep fishing for it. Q: What do the Field Bonuses mean? A: Fished [#] times means you must fish that many times before you can achieve that field bonus. Fished up [#] boots means you must fish up the number of boots it has listed. The same goes with fish. Q: Is there a spot that has a higher amount of a certain fish if there's more than two fishing spots? A: Probably, although I never did find a King Tuna at the 2nd Level Terrace fishing spot. =================== 7.) NIS America: For publishing this in the states. x_revenge: This idea was his originally and with his permission to submit and revise this, I changed a few things around, but most of this is still his content and thus I'm giving him most of the credit. The Atelier Iris 3 message boards: You guys have been more than helpful. And a huge thanks to you, the readers. Without you guys I wouldn't be making these in the first place. x_revenge would like to thank: Cogito and thundercloud82: For giving information on some of the fishing spots. Thank you to all the readers (this was from his previous version before I fixed it up, so I put it in here as well) ---------------------------------------------------------------------- Author's Input | ---------------------------------------------------------------------- If you want to do something to make me happier then please go here and click the link to the bottom of the page to sign the pledge to be fur-free: http://www.peta.org/feat/ChineseFurFarms/index.asp I advise you to not watch the video, the contents inside are too gory. You can also go around signing petitons protecting the right of people and animals, if you do that then you'll make me happier than you would if you sent me money.
