On Level 5(DS) I rescue that guy but he keeps shooting me and my men.

In order for the hostages to stop shooting your men you must first kill the first two men manning the 50 cals then there should be one man in a bunker under thhe tree and two on the opposite side of the house and any stragglers outside of the house.
Then creep around to the front of the house and kill the one man you see standing in the window. You should then be able to catch the hostage without him shooting you.
