If it is the little one, you have to empty it, or if it still don't work, then I think you should save then restart the ps2 and then see what happens. If it still donest work ask your mom. XD I allways do.

I had that problem to, So I havd to restart the whole game. I don't think you can do anything else.

I had the same problem the only way to bypass this glich without restarting the whole game.is when you're small bin is full.just put it in you're family invertory then n click on it again and put it back the bin will be empty again...
