There is only one way to get it. BUY IT. The only way you can get gotenks capsule is to have a black (I think) membership card, and buy the darn thing.
It took me forever to get him.
If you play through dragon universe as goten or kid trunks, it should be unlockedi n the storyline somewhere.
Ignoranceisbliss is wrong -- you cannot play in DU as Goten or Kid Trunks. You just have to buy it from the skill shop.
P.S. Ignoranceisbliss you must be thinking of budokai 2 when you gave the answer above.
To get gotenks you need to play gokus du then you have to fuse to vegito then you go to one of the citys and you talk to bulma then you get an invetation to the tourament you will fight gotenks and you fuse with vegeta to become gogeta and you have to beat him after that you get gotenks and you go face omega shenron and earn him to and then you got gotenks and omega shenron okay
He is a "Shop-Only" character....the capsules are only available through the shop.
Yup you can only buy it from the shop and you must have a gold or black membership card

There are two ways I remember getting a chance to buy gotenks capsule one was by exiting du after the fight between gogeta and him at the world tournament and the other was getting a black membership card which you can find somewhere on the map after your first 2 or 3 playthroughs with a character
