This feature becomes unlocked when you have completed Arcade mode using ALL the starter characters. Team Battle mode is the only unlockable mode in the game.
When you complete the following tasks the corresponding character will become unlocked.
Duck King:
Complete Arcade mode using ALL the starter characters.
Mr. Karate:
Complete Arcade mode without losing a round or using 'continues'.
