The following procedure requires editing a game file so it is advised that you create a backup copy of the file. Use a text editor to edit the 'ysf_win.ini' file which is located in the '/documents and settings//application data/falcom/ysf_win/' directory. Find the '[game]' heading and change the following lines to:

Start a new game or load a saved game and Time Attack mode will now be available (you won't have to clear the game at least once). Press one of the following keys to activate the corresponding effect.

Gain 1 Level:

Press F2

Gain 1,000 Gold:

Press F3

Gail 1,000 Ravaal Steel:

Press F4

Maximum HP:

Press F5

When you complete the following tasks the corresponding feature will become available.

Unlock Time Attack Mode:

Complete the game.

Unlock Hard Mode:

Complete the game under the Normal difficulty setting.

Unlock Nightmare Mode:

Complete the game under the Hard difficulty setting.

Unlock Inferno Mode:

Complete the game under the Nightmare difficulty setting (this requires the patched version of the game).

Unlock Alternate Costumes for Elena:

Complete the game to unlock a new costume for Elena. The costume unlocked will depend on the difficulty setting. To access them, enter the 'Configuration' screen and then right click Elena.
