THANKS ^_^ SECTIONS IN THIS GUIDE: &I - A note before we start. &II - My thoughts on the game. &III - Story. &IV - Characters. &V - Walkthough. &VI - Simplified Walkthrough. &VII - Special Thanks. SECTION &I - A NOTE BEFORE WE START: This is my first time writing a walkthrough for a bishoujo game, so please send me any comments or suggestions at [email protected]. Note that I won't use any silly ASCII designs to make this guide pretty, nor will I go any more into detail on things than absolutely necessary- in order to avoid spoilers and wasted space. However, I will post the sentence prior to a choice being made as well and the list of the possible choices. If this bothers anyone please let me know, I've rarely seen guides use this method but I've felt many times in the past that I'd have liked them to. I will be placing notes that I feel are important to using this guide surrounded by asterisks (***), please pay careful attention to anything I note, as it might affect things quite a bit. This game guide is copyright 2007 by Lysander Daringer. It will be posted in my private blogsite, my Yahoo360, and also on GameFAQs.com, you may use it for personal use, link it to a friend or two, copy it to your computer, whatever- but please don't reproduce anything from this guide, or post it anywhere else on the net. The only places this guide -should- be posted are the three locations I just mentioned, and if I find it anywhere else I won't be too happy. Now that that's clear, on with the show. SECTION &II - MY THOUGHTS ON THE GAME: Wind is a wonderful bishoujo game for people who like rather deep, very emotional stories. It has excellent background music (including songs with vocals, which is rare) and three anime-style movie scenes which NNL and Insani fansubbed beautifully. The creation of these movies had the very wonderful Makoto Shinkai assisting, so they of course turned out very well. The backtracking system (scrolling back to read past text) was also done very well, as not only do the voices repeat but the backgrounds/CG backtracks along with the text- also at any point you can right click and return to the current text. Nearly every character in this game is voiced, including most males (aside from the main character) and even all of the non-important characters such as the school teacher and folks walking down the street have voices. There are many moments when there may not be CG or even on-screen characters, where the main character may simply be looking up at the clouds or at the living room, but this shouldn't discourage anyone as the game more than makes up for it with the quality of the CGs that they do have. I should also note that this game does not have very many h-scenes, in fact there's a total of 6.5 adult scenes in the entire game, with each ending usually having 1 scene total. Due to this, I recommend this game mostly to the fans of renai (love-romance) games, not to people who like having an adult scene every five minutes. All in all it is ranked in my top 3 for the most emotional and moving bishoujo games I've played, and I've played and gotten all the endings for over 30 of them. SECTION &III - STORY: Wind -A Breath of Heart- is a story about a guy named Makoto Okano, who at the age of six had to leave his hometown of Kazune with his mother and sister. Just before leaving, he made a promise with his close childhood friend Minamo; first that they would definately meet again, second that until they met again they wouldn't get married to anyone else- and third that if Makoto felt that Minamo had grown into a "good woman", that he would marry her. As a parting gift, Makoto also entrusted Minamo with his harmonica, telling her that he would be able to hear her play it from any distance, and that he'd be able to find her again. Several years later at around the age of sixteen or so and while living in a new city, Makoto's mother suddenly disappeared, leaving both him and his sister Hinata with only the money she had in her savings account and no idea where their mother had gone. More than half a year passes with no word from her, so Makoto and Hinata decide to move back to Kazune. Several months after moving back, Makoto had forgotten his textbook at school and went to retrieve it. While in the classroom, he noticed that one of the windows were still open and reluctantly walked over to close it. It was then that he could suddenly hear the beautiful sound of someone playing the harmonica, and filled with a very powerful sense of nostalgia, he ran off to find the source of the music, and the memories he'd nearly forgotten. SECTION &IV - CHARACTERS: *** There are two highschools in Wind, usually simply referred to as the "west building" and "east building" since the schools are sitting right next to eachother. Although the schools both share the same cafeteria and gymnasium, students not going out of their way to do so will rarely have the opportunity to meet students from the other school, except on days of special events such as the Athletics Festival which both schools hold together. This is not really important as far as the guide is concerned, but I just wanted readers to understand what I mean when I say "east building" or "west building" here. *** Makoto Okano - The main character, very honest and hates breaking his word, but also a bit mischievious and can't stand losing. After a little over ten years he finally returns to his hometown, perhaps in some way feeling that he may find his mother there. He's a third-year highschool student and goes to school in the west building. Has no known special abilities. Minamo Karukaze - A childhood friend of the main character. She's very gentle and emotional, although she's also shy and sometimes has a hard time voicing what she really feels. She's practically an idol in the east building where she's a third-year student, and is well known not only as being someone who's always kind and helpful, but who would reject any guy who asked her out. Her ability is to call the wind at will. Hinata Okano - Younger sister of the main character. Hinata is very energetic, and has the habit of saying "unyu" whenever she's surprised. She's always upbeat and extremely athletic- she also has the special ability to jump higher than some two-story buildings. She's a second-year student in the west building. Nozomi Fujimiya - A second-year highschool student in the east building, and the older sister of Wakaba Fujimiya. She comes off a little tomboyish and is quite energetic. She knows kenjutsu well enough to dominate anyone in kendo matches, although her true nature is very feminine and quite a contrast to her appearance. She and her sister both work in "One Day", a small cafe' with a very quiet owner. She has the ability to send shockwaves through the air by swinging any sword-like object. Wakaba Fujimiya - A second-year highschool student just like her sister Nozomi, Wakaba acts much more mature than those around her and is often called upon when people need help. She's very kind and soft-spoken, and is always looking out for her sister and others. She has the ability to heal injuries. Hikari Tsukishiro - She appears to be a first year highschool student, but not much is known about her. She's often found looking at the sky or observing others, but her cold attitude makes her rather unapproachable. She runs a shop called September Place, seemingly all by herself. The shop is very unique for having many special items that can't be found anywhere else. Anything else about her is unknown. Tsutomu Tachibana - The best friend of the main character and in the same class, he speaks in a rather strange accent despite having grown up in Kazune. He's very foolish and doesn't bother hiding his impure intentions most of the time, but thanks to his photographic memory he aces all of the school's tests without studying much at all. He's almost always around his childhood friend Kasumi, although he's never happy about it and complains openly. He has no known special ability. Kasumi Shoukouin - Childhood friends with Tsutomu and in the same class as him and the main character, she's very intelligent and is part of the Student Council. She's typically the one who puts Tsutomu in his place when he makes a ridiculous comment, but despite her extreme hardwork and dilligence, he always scores a bit better than she does on tests. She's kind but also strict and realistic, her ability is to see and feel people's emotions (when she has her glasses off). SECTION &V - WALKTHROUGH: *** Even if you do not want to get Minamo's path first, I recommend you play up to the "Save #2" in this path before moving on to the path of the girl you like. All other paths use this path as a base, and if you deviate from it I can't guarantee that you'll get all of the CGs. *** ----------------------------Minamo's Path---------------------------- *** There are two choices to make during the prologue; the prologue ends with the third question here on April 19th (neither of the first two questions really matter). Note that you should have the background music always turned on, at least a little, because if you have it muted it won't play any music during the videos that play (and you won't be able to skip them your first time through either). Also- after getting any ending, you'll be able to skip the prologue altogether on any subsequent new games. *** If that's the case... - I'll just wake her up. [Choose This] - I'll poke her ten times in a row! Hinata: "What's the name of the constellation that Polaris is a part of?" - Gyouza. [Choose This] *No Difference* - Yakuza. - Pizza. I can still sense that Minamo is depressed so I... -Ask her what's bothering her. [Choose This] -Say nothing. Hinata: "So are you in?" - I'll definately study with Hinata and the others. - I'll think about it. [Choose This] *** I'm really not sure that these questions actually affect anything, but for completeness here's the answers. On every playthrough I made in the game, I always chose these answers correctly, so you may want to as well. You don't need to do them individually though, just remember the answer is strangely always the second option. This can be contributed to Tsutomu's personality in my opinion. *** Tsutomu: "What is the correct word that would fit in this sentence?" - Left - Right [Choose This] - Height Tsutomu: "How many articles are there in the Formulary of Adjudications?" - 49 - 51 [Choose This] - 53 Tsutomu: "Among the religions of the Sassanid Dynasty, which one became widely popular with the citizens of the Roman Empire?" - Christianity - Mithraism [Choose This] - Hinduism Tsutomu: "What is the abbreviation for the term 'Nongovernmental Organization'?" - PKO - NGO [Choose This] - FAO Tsutomu: "Two plus five times ten equals what?" - 17 - 52 [Choose This] - 70 *** This ends the useless-questions from Tsutomu ^_^ *** Something is still bothering me. My promise with Hinata... what should I do? - Suggest a joint birthday party. [Choose This] - Don't bring up any ideas. SAVE #1 Okay, now that I have finished that, I'll... - Participate in the 400 meter dash. [Choose This] - Watch the scavenger hunt. - Try the tug-of-war. But then I have a twisted idea... - Just draw a lot as-is. - I'll mention Hinata's study group! [Choose This] That leaves me to take care of the remainder of today's cooking. What should I do? - Make my own dinner. - Eat out. [Choose This] It seems like a nice day today. What should I do? - Get up. - Sleep in. [Choose This] SAVE #2 I am by myself. What should I do? - Call out to Minamo. [Choose This.] - Call out to Hinata. - Call out to Hikari. - Continue to relax alone. Now then, who shall I invite? - Minamo. [Choose This] - The Fujimiya sisters. - Hinata. - Tsuyomu, baby! *** Minamo's ending path starts here, there won't be any more choices to make. Enjoy! *** ----------------------------Hinata's Path---------------------------- *** This is quite simple, since Hinata is the character you'll get by default if you screw up getting anyone else, I honestly recommend simply loading save #2 and choosing "Hinata" for the last two answers. All of the CGs that aren't obtained from doing this you'll get later on when we do the final path in the game. *** LOAD SAVE #2 I am by myself. What should I do? - Call out to Minamo. - Call out to Hinata. [Choose This] - Call out to Hikari. - Continue to relax alone. Now then, who shall I invite? - Minamo - The Fujimiya sisters. - Hinata. [Choose This] - Tsuyomu, baby! *** Hinata's ending path starts here, there won't be any more choices to make. Enjoy! *** --------------Fujimiya Sisters' Paths (Nozomi and Wakaba)-------------- LOAD SAVE #2 I am by myself. What should I do? - Call out to Minamo. - Call out to Hinata. - Call out to Hikari. - Continue to relax alone. [Choose This] Now then, who shall I invite? - Minamo. - The Fujimiya sisters. [Choose This] - Hinata. - Tsuyomu, baby! *** After this you will be presented with one extra question, this decides who's path you'll take to the ending *** SAVE #3 Makoto: "You don't have to answer me now. Anyway, it's getting late." - Insist on walking Nozomi home. (Nozomi's path.) - Stay and watch over Wakaba. (Wakaba's path.) *** Choose either, play through, then choose the other and you'll have both endings here. *** -----------------------------Hikari's Path----------------------------- *** This is the most complicated one, and you can only get this path once you've gotten the other four. Despite what people think, you DO NOT need to start a new game for this ending, however, it's best to do so since you can get most of the missing CGs while you play through. For those of you who don't care about the missing CGs, simply load Save #1 here and follow from that point. For the others I'll be starting from the beginning. *** *** Go ahead and skip the prologue *** I can still sense that Minamo is depressed so I... - Ask her what's bothering her. - Say nothing. [Choose This] Wait a minute. I recognize the girl who's sitting on one of the benches. What should I do? - Call out to Wakaba. [Choose This] - Don't say anything. Hinata: "So are you in?" - I'll definately study with Hinata and the others. [Choose This] - I'll think about it. Something is still bothering me. My promise with Hinata... what should I do? - Suggest a joint birthday party. - Don't bring up any ideas. [Choose This] *** There is a new option in the next set of choices, which is why you had to get all the other four endings first. This is also where Save #1 continues from *** Okay, now that I have finished that, I'll... - Participate in the 400 meter dash. - Watch the scavenger hunt. - Try the tug-of-war. - Just walk around the area [Choose This] But then I have a twisted idea... - Just draw a lot as-is. [Choose This] - I'll mention Hinata's study group! That leaves me to take care of the remainder of today's cooking. What should I do? - Make my own dinner. - Eat out. [Choose This] It seems like a nice day today. What should I do? - Get up. [Choose This] - Sleep in. I am by myself. What should I do? - Call out to Minamo. - Call out to Hinata. - Call out to Hikari. [Choose This] - Continue to relax alone. Now then, who shall I invite? - Minamo. [Choose This] - The Fujimiya sisters. - Hinata. - Tsuyomu, baby! *** The final ending starts here, and you should only be missing one CG from the collection when it's done. Also, now that you have all the endings, you'll also have access to the special features such as free background images as well as several amusing story additions (on the DVD version, I'm not sure about the CD one). I won't be including the special features in this guide because they're rather straightforward, and since Insani and NNL didn't translate them. *** ------------------------------MISSING CG------------------------------ Now that you have all the endings, here's how you get the last CG you'd be missing if you followed this guide from start to finish. Load Save #1 if you started a new game for Hikari's ending- but if you loaded that save for Hikari's path (in other words if you have 4 or so missing CGs at this point), go ahead and start a new game now and play Hikari's path from the beginning up until the Athletic Festival, then choose this answer to get the final CG. Okay, now that I have finished that, I'll... - Participate in the 400 meter dash. - Watch the scavenger hunt. - Try the tug-of-war. [Choose This] - Just walk around the area. *** When you come to the next question, you should be finished getting all of the CGs, congratulations! ^_^ *** SECTION &VI - SIMPLIFIED PATH GUIDE: If you don't like the fact that I've shown the question as well as all of the answers available for each choice in this guide, then this section is for you. This is exactly the same as the paths above, except that I left out the notes and simplified things as much as possible. --Minamo's Path [Choice 1] - I'll just wake her up. [Choice 1] - Gyouza. [Choice 1] - Ask her what's bothering her. [Choice 2] - I'll think About it. [Choice 2] - Right. [Choice 2] - 51. [Choice 2] - Mithraism. [Choice 2] - NGO. [Choice 2] - 52. [Choice 1] - Suggest joint birthday. SAVE #1 [Choice 1] - 400 meter dash [Choice 2] - Mention Hinata's study group. [Choice 2] - Eat out. [Choice 2] - Sleep in. SAVE #2 [Choice 1] - Call out to Minamo. [Choice 1] - Minamo. --Hinata's Path LOAD #2 [Choice 2] - Call out to Hinata. SECTION &VII - SPECIAL THANKS: I wrote this guide in about 3 or 4 hours after initially getting all of the endings, and I didn't really have help from anyone. However, I would like to thank my friend NovaProspekt for letting me know that Makoto Shinkai helped with the videos, because without that information I might not have been so fired up about playing it- and thus might not have been fired up enough to write a guide for it. I initially started writing this guide because I didn't find any decent ones around on the internet, and I felt that despite this game having no distribution in the United States or Europe, there would be enough english-speaking people playing it using the patch to warrant having a guide up on the net. I would like to thank Insani and NoNameLosers for creating the patch so that we can enjoy this wonderful game without knowing Japanese, and I would especially like to thank Minori for creating this game in the first place. Again, any comments/suggestions should be sent to [email protected]. Thank you for playing the game and for reading this guide, and please support Minori by buying this game if you haven't already. @Guide Copyright 2007 Lysander Daringer

Wind: a Breath of Heart - Re-gratitude: FAQ/Walkthrough by LysanderD
Version 1.0, Last Updated 2007-04-24 View/Download Original File

Hosted by GameFAQs
Return to Wind: a Breath of Heart - Re-gratitude (PC) FAQs & Guides
