1.                                Introduction

This is the second in a series of four adventures in the John DeFoe quadrilogy
by Yahtzee. The games can be downloaded for free from the developer's website:
http://www.fullyramblomatic.com/games.htm. Based four years after 5 Days a
Stranger, former cat burglar Trilby has now become a paranormal investigator
for the Special Talents Project after the strange events in the DeFoe manor.
In Trilby's Notes, Trilby suspects that the spirit of John DeFoe wasn't killed
in the manor, so he travels to a isolated hotel in Wales to investigate.

2.                                Walkthrough

===============================================================================


SIMONE'S APARTMENT

The game starts in the hall outside Simone's apartment. Walk to the right door
and KNOCK three times. USE the LOCKPICKS on the door to enter the apartment.
Walk to the window and OPEN the BLIND. The lightning illuminates a body on the
floor. LOOK at the BODY to see that Simone has been killed.


NORMAL HOTEL

After a cutscene, Trilby arrives at the Clanbronwyn Hotel and is invited into
Professor Abed Chahal's room. ASK ABOUT the IDOL to enter the alternate hotel.


ALTERNATE HOTEL

Walk west. Go down to the ground floor and walk through the doorway to the
lobby. Walk west. OPEN the DOOR to enter the bar. Walk to the counter and GET
the PLIERS. OPEN the DOOR and walk west to the dining room. Walk to the
skeleton and USE the PLIERS ON the NAILS. OPEN the DOOR to enter the bathroom.
GET the ENVELOPE to get the pills. EAT a PILL to return to the normal hotel.


NORMAL HOTEL

OPEN the DOOR to enter the dining room. Walk east twice to the lobby. TOUCH the
PAINTING to see a flashback of Matthew in the DeFoe manor in 1821.


DEFOE MANOR FLASHBACK

GET a BOTTLE from the cabinet. SLIDE the PAINTING UNDER the DOOR. Walk to the
right door and OPEN the DOOR. After a cutscene, walk to the left door and OPEN
the DOOR. After another cutscene, the game returns to Trilby.


NORMAL HOTEL

Walk to the desk and GET the MATCHBOX. Walk north through the doorway to the
stairwell. Walk up the stairs to the first floor and go through the doorway
on the right. Walk below the heat sensor and LIGHT a MATCH. Walk to the fire
escape door and OPEN the DOOR to enter the back garden. GET the CROWBAR. CLIMB
up the ladder to return to the hall. Walk through the left doorway to the
stairwell. Walk down to the ground floor and go through the doorway. Walk west.


ALTERNATE HOTEL

Walk west to the dining room. Walk to the boarded door and USE the CROWBAR ON
the BOARDS. EAT a PILL and then open the door to enter the antique room.


NORMAL HOTEL

GET the BOTTLE of speedy cola on the table. TOUCH the CHISEL on the table to
see a flashback of Mbouta on the Sea Angel in 1789.


SEA ANGEL FLASHBACK

Walk to the man near the boat at the right side of the ship. POINT at the
CHISEL to get the chisel. Walk back to the left side of the ship and CLIMB down
the ladder to the hold. USE the CHISEL on the crate to carve the idol. CLIMB up
the ladder. Walk to the right side of the ship to return to Trilby.


NORMAL HOTEL

OPEN the DOOR to return to the dining room. Go through the right doorway and
OPEN the DOOR to enter the bar. ASK SIOBHAN ABOUT the SEA ANGEL: She tells
Trilby to meet her in room 2A. OPEN the DOOR to exit the room. Walk east and
north to the stairwell. Go upstairs to the second floor and walk through the
right doorway to the hall. OPEN the DOOR to room 2A to talk to Siobhan.


ALTERNATE HOTEL

When the tall man kneels in front of Trilby, KICK the TALL MAN.


NORMAL HOTEL

Walk to the desk and OPEN the BAG to read about the Omalley shipping company. A
flashback is shown of Jack Frehorn in his house in 1778.


HOUSE FLASHBACK

GET the GUN on the desk. Walk downstairs to see the tall man playing the piano.
SHOOT the TALL MAN to return to the hotel.


NORMAL HOTEL

OPEN the DOOR to enter the hall. Walk west to the stairwell. Go downstairs to
the bottom floor and walk through the right doorway to the lobby.


ALTERNATE HOTEL

Walk west twice to the dining room to see Lenkmann. GET the MEAT on the table.
OPEN the left DOOR to enter the kitchen. OPEN the top DOOR to enter the cellar.
USE the MEAT on the beetles. DRINK the WATER to return to the normal hotel.


NORMAL HOTEL

Walk upstairs to the kitchen. Open the right door to enter the dining room.
Walk to the second door from the right and OPEN the DOOR to meet Abed in the
antique room. ASK ABED ABOUT the UNICORN. TOUCH the UNICORN. A flashback is
shown of Owen Somerset in the Unicorn Inn in 1581.


UNICORN INN FLASHBACK

ASK the INNKEEPER ABOUT a ROOM four times: He tells Owen to take the upstairs
room. OPEN the left DOOR to enter the bedroom. Walk to either bed and SLEEP.
GET the SHEET from the left bed. Go downstairs. USE the SHEET ON the FIRE.


NORMAL HOTEL

OPEN the DOOR to enter the dining room. Go through the right doorway. OPEN the
DOOR to enter the bar. ASK ABED ABOUT the HEAD: He wants a drink. OPEN the DOOR
to enter the hall. Walk west. OPEN the left DOOR to enter the kitchen. OPEN the
middle door to enter the cellar. GET the BOTTLE of wine. Go upstairs. OPEN the
right DOOR to enter the dining room. Go through the right doorway to the hall.


ALTERNATE HOTEL

EAT a PILL. OPEN the DOOR to enter the bar.


NORMAL HOTEL

OPEN the DOOR to exit the bar. DRINK the COLA. OPEN the DOOR to enter the bar.


ALTERNATE HOTEL

GET the HEAD. EAT a PILL. OPEN the DOOR to exit the bar.


NORMAL HOTEL

Walk east to the lobby. GET the LEG. Walk to the door behind the desk and USE
the LOCKPICK. OPEN the DOOR to enter the office. GET the LEG. OPEN the DOOR to
exit the office. OPEN the right DOOR to go outside. GET the ARM. OPEN the DOOR
to return to the lobby. Go through the top door to the stairwell. Go upstairs
to the third floor and walk through the right doorway to the hall. Walk to 3C
and OPEN the DOOR to enter Trilby's room. GET the ARM. OPEN the DOOR.


ALTERNATE HOTEL

Walk through the left doorway. Go upstairs to the top floor and ATTACH the
LIMBS to the dummy. EAT a PILL and go through the doorway on the third floor.


NORMAL HOTEL

Go upstairs to the top floor and OPEN the DOOR to go outside. GET the PAPER. A
flashback will be shown of Boyle on Clanbronwyn Island in 1501.


CLANBRONWYN ISLAND FLASHBACK

GET the STONE. THROW the STONE at the tall man.


ALTERNATE HOTEL

Go downstairs to the ground floor and walk through the doorway. Walk west twice
and OPEN the left DOOR to the kitchen. OPEN the DOOR to the cellar. CLIMB DOWN
the HOLE to enter the cavern. TOUCH the STUMP. A flashback is shown of Cabadath
on the Clanbronwyn Peninsula in 55 BC. After the flashback and the cutscene,
wait for the tall man to appear. As soon as it is possible to type commands,
try to STAND. When the tall man walks toward Trilby, DIE to complete the game.

BRANDY BOTTLE
  Found in the cabinet in the DeFoe flashback. It is automatically given to
  Roderick near the end of the flashback.


CHISEL
  Found by pointing at the chisel on the deck of the ship in the Sea Angel
  flashback. It is used on the crate in the hold on the ship.


CROWBAR
  Found on the table in the back garden of the normal hotel. It is used on the
  boards in the alternate dining room.


GUN
  Found on the desk in Jack's room in the house flashback. It is used to shoot
  the tall man.


LOCKPICKS
  Available at the start of the game. They are used to unlock Simone's
  apartment door. They are used to open the office door in the normal hotel.


LUMP OF MEAT
  Found on the table in the alternate dining room after the house flashback. It
  is used on the beetles in the alternate cellar.


MATCHBOX
  Found on the desk in the normal lobby after the DeFoe flashback. A match is
  lit below the heat sensor in the first floor hall.


PAINTING
  Available at the start of the DeFoe flashback. It is put under the door.


PILLS
  Found in the alternate bathroom. A pill can be eaten in the alternate hotel
  to return to the normal hotel.


PLIERS
  Found in the alternate bar. They are used on the nails in the alternate
  dining room.


PORCELAIN ARM (L)
  Found in Trilby's room in the normal hotel after getting the bottle of wine.
  It is attached to the dummy at the top of the alternate stairwell.


PORCELAIN ARM (R)
  Found outside the normal hotel after getting the bottle of wine. It is
  attached to the dummy at the top of the alternate stairwell.


PORCELAIN HEAD
  Found in the alternate bar after getting the bottle of wine. It is attached
  to the dummy at the top of the alternate stairwell.


PORCELAIN LEG (L)
  Found in the normal lobby after getting the bottle of wine. It is attached to
  the dummy at the top of the alternate stairwell.


PORCELAIN LEG (R)
  Found in the normal office after getting the bottle of wine. It is attached
  to the dummy at the top of the alternate stairwell.


SHEET
  Found on the bed after sleeping in the Unicorn Inn flashback. It is used on
  the fire.


SPEEDY COLA
  Found on the table in the normal antique room. It can be drunk in the normal
  hotel to return to the alternate hotel.


STONE
  Found in the Clanbronwyn Island flashback. It is thrown at the tall man.


WINE
  After the Unicorn Inn flashback and Abed has been talked to about the head,
  the wine is found in the normal cellar.
