Even the hardest of core gamers will agree that this is a super-tough game, but stick with me and we'll get through it! You'll need lightning-fast reflexes, a heavy tolerance for death, and a burning desire to complete the game to do well here. If you are the kind of person who rage-quits after 10 minutes of not getting through a level, this Might Not Be The Game For You. =============================================================================== [NOT] OPENING NOTES OK so here is a sort of statement of purpose. I am not hardcore. Don't get me wrong, I'm no platforming wimp. After all, I did complete super meat boy 100%. But I'm not on any high-score tables, I couldn't compete in a tournament and expect to win, etc. I'm just like you. And that should be reassuring! Everything that I've done, well, odds are you can do too. I'm not going to say that any of you can first-try XOXO with this guide. It'll still be a long, hard struggle, but stick with me and you can get through. I haven't used any guides or walkthroughs in creating this guide, so all the strategies are entirely my own. It's possible that I haven't done things the best way though, so let me know! I mentioned previously that I'm not hardcore. This guide likewise isn't for the hardcore. The goal here is to get all the band-aids, portals, and A+ times with the least amount of difficulty. If you know of a faster but harder way to complete a level, I won't put it in the guide. I'm sorry if that sounds harsh, but it goes against the grain of what this walkthrough is trying to accomplish. On the OTHER hand, if you know an EASIER way to beat a level that still gets you the A+ time or the band-aids, I would LOVE to hear from you. Drop me a line, and I'll be sure to credit you in the next release! =============================================================================== [MNU] MENU *Start Game: Starts a single player campaign. Unlock 20 badges to get the ability to try out user-made levels! Woo! Seeing as this is non-canonical content, it won't be covered in the walkthru. =============================================================================== [WLK] WALKTHROUGH You start your journey with a single punch. Dr. Fetus seals his fate and smacks your girlfriend in a single move! YOU'LL PAY, FETUS! Remember to complete both the dark and the light worlds! Boss levels need 17 light world levels from that world completed to unlock. You don't have to do them in order, but to play a dark world level you have to beat its light world counterpart. In the final story level, The End, you'll have to beat all 5 levels to unlock the boss on the light world, and a cumulative total of 85 dark world levels to unlock the dark world boss. =============================================================================== [CH 1] The Forest Kinda spooky in here, don't you think? You start in the forest, so the first couple levels are just getting to know the ropes. ------------------------------------------------------------------------------- [1-1] Hello World Bandages: 0 Par time: 3.00 Strategy Take some time to get used to the controls in this level, as it's a nice and easy introduction. You're on the bottom there, that red blob, and that pink blob up top is bandage girl, your main squeeze. You have to go get her. The fastest way to do this is to hold the dash button, jump to your left, and walljump back right onto the platform. I made it in 1.49 my first time. See that guy who appears and grabs bandage girl right out from under your meaty nose? That's Dr. Fetus. The cad! ------------------------------------------------------------------------------- [1-2] Upward Bandages: 0 Par time: 5.00 Strategy This is the level that really REQUIRES that you learn wall-jumping. And you'd better learn it well, because it's going to be invaluable in the levels to come! To make par time, dash to the right, then wall-jump. The best way to walljump when you've got a tunnel like this is jumping from one wall to the other, as this is faster than just using one wall for the jumps. Hop on up there and get your girl! ------------------------------------------------------------------------------ [1-3] The Gap Bandages: 0 Par time: 9.00 Strategy The GAME doesn't even think you'll know about the dash until this level, but if you've been following my guide you'll have used it twice already! So there really isn't a whole lot TO this level. Dash, jump over the big gap, get your lady. Home free! There is no WAY this should take you 9.00 ------------------------------------------------------------------------------- [1-4] Nutshell Bandages: 1 Par time: 9.00 Strategy We are introduced to the elusive and desirable bandage! Huzzah! So this level is a bit longer than the others, and you will actually have to move quickly to get the time limit! I know, I was like :o too. So there are two paths to take, one for the time limit, the other one for the bandage. To get the time limit you'll want to wall-jump up the leftmost path, until the wall on the right runs out. Then walljump up just the left wall until you're high enough to make the jump to the girl. I did this in about 7.30 my first time. To get the bandage, don't worry about speed, just make it out of the initial tunnel, then head over to the right. The bandage will be in a pit on the right of the level. ------------------------------------------------------------------------------- [1-5] Holy Mountain *Warp Zone* Bandages: 0 Par Time: 11.00 Strategy: Gonna be a lot of wall-jumping in this one, so be prepared! Start out by dashing to the right, and wall-jump up the right wall. Try to get one good wall-jump out of the little floating island on the left there. Once you're on top of that, head to the left, and wall-jump up the tunnel there. What's that thing to the left? Go check it out and.. AUGH! Sucked into a black hole! Welcome to the portal levels, which take you back to the CLASSIC version of meat boy. Check out the portal level walkthroughs for more info on that. Once you don't care about the portal, use the wall right before the portal to wall-jump up the last two levels, and dash over to your girl. ------------------------------------------------------------------------------- [1-6] Bladecatcher Bandages: 0 Par Time: 7.00 Strategy This level is all about the long-distance wall-jumps. You'll want to dash to the right, then jump halfway up the wall, and wall-jump OVER the buzzsaw. When you hit the middle platform, run up to the buzzsaw, jump over it and hit the wall behind it halfway up. Wall-jump against that wall once to get more height, then wall-jump away over the tall buzzsaw. If you've been dashing the whole way, you should make the par time pretty easily. ------------------------------------------------------------------------------- [1-7] Diverge Bandages: 1 Par Time: 5.00 Strategy There are two paths here, the one for the bandage and the one for the time. To get the bandage, walljump up the first wall, trying to eventually hit the wall right below the buzzsaw. From there, jump above the saw on the platform, and, holding dash, run left off the platform. You should get the band-aid this way. Then just jump back up, run and jump right to complete the mission. To get the time is a bit tricker. Run to the right into the tunnel, and leap against the right wall. Walljump to the left wall, and immediately jump again. You need to clear the buzzsaw, and the top of the barrier. You'll fall into the next tunnel. There, jump against the right wall, then walljump to the left. Jump against the left wall once for height, then jump over to the right above the saw. From there just jump up to your girl. *****CONTRIBUTED GUIDE***** First, I'd like to thank you for all the hard work behind your walkthrough, secondly I'd like to suggest an alternate route for Lvl 1-7, light world. I use your guide mainly to find out where the bandages and warp zones are located, but for the A+ description on this level I wonered why you didn't mention the much easier AND faster route: Just like when you go for the bandage, walljump straight up the first wall and over the buzzsaw, from there you can just run and jump over an easy gap to get to the girl. FairlyFreakyFeet **************************** ------------------------------------------------------------------------------- [1-8] The Bit Bandages: 0 Par Time: 4.50 Strategy Not too tricky, this one. Hold dash, and leap off. Hit the side of the island in the middle of the saw. Walljump up and over the island, and land on pinky to rescue her. ------------------------------------------------------------------------------- [1-9] Safety Third Bandages: 1 Par Time: 8.00 Strategy Here we introduce a new block and a new concept: the block is the breakable block, identifiable by how it looks sandy, and the concept is being VERY careful about how we get the bandages. Getting the time limit for this level shouldn't be any trouble at all. Remember about walljumping from left to right wall for faster speed, keep the dash button depressed, and you shouldn't have any trouble. To get the bandaid, jump up to the second level just like normal, and dash to the left. Right before you get to the lefthand breakable wall, stop. Jump up past the first couple blocks, THEN walljump off of them. You should hit the right breakable wall further up than the lowest breakable block. Slide down the wall; it should break, and you should be standing on the lowest block on the right side. From there, walk right and get the band-aid. Then using the low blocks that you didn't break on the left side, walljump to the top level, and get the girl. ------------------------------------------------------------------------------- [1-10] The Levee Bandages: 0 Par Time: 7.50 Strategy There's a simple trick to getting the par time in this level. Dash up to the center blocks, and jump onto them. You should hit them and slide up a little bit. By the time you slide back down, the center blocks should have broken, and you can fall through. Walljump up, repeat, and you're through! ------------------------------------------------------------------------------- [1-11] Fired Bandages: 1 Par Time: 8.00 Strategy Oh boy! Your first intro to fire! While fire actually just makes meat more delicious, it also kills meat boy, so you're going to want not to touch it. I mean, if that wasn't obvious. Getting par time on this level is pretty simple, if requiring of a little practice. A good rule of thumb is that you shouldn't ever jump twice in a row on the same wall- you always want to be looking to switch walls. You want to go right first, then straight up, left a bit, up, then back right. This band-aid wasn't too tricky for me for some reason. The main trick is that you want to leave the lower section of wall near the band-aid intact while you jump on top of it. You might avoid jumping on that wall altogether, and reach the top of it from the final platform before your girl (remember to leave a block or two for later!). Once you're on top, slide down the right to get the bandaid, then use the remaining bits of wall to jump back to the left. ------------------------------------------------------------------------------- [1-12] Revolve *Warp Zone* Bandages 0 Par Time: 7.00 Strategy Alright, so fall left off the platform and slide down the wall. Jump to the floating platform in the middle above the fire, then jump up the right wall. There's your girl right on the center platform, so no problem ri.... hang on a minute. What's that over to the left there? Go see! Why... it's a warp zone! Ok so once you've got that, just repeat the process without going past band- aid girl to beat the level. I made it in about 5.12 without much trouble. ------------------------------------------------------------------------------- [1-13] Tommy's Cabin Bandages: 1 Par Time: 7.00 Strategy So walljump up like normal until you get to the first buzzsaw. You can jump over him just like normal, and stand on that little ledge to the left. As soon as it starts heading to the right and you can fall down there, do so to get the band-aid. If you're quick, you can get it, jump back up, and head to the top level, under or over the buzzsaw (time that jump right if you're going over) and get band-aid girl. I got the bandage and the par time in one go! ------------------------------------------------------------------------------- [1-14] Blood Mountain Bandages: 0 Par Time: 8.00 Strategy Don't underestimate how high you can walljump! The key to this level is quickly ascending the left wall. Jump to your left, walljump to the right when the buzzsaw is at the top, and jump over it. You can alternate walls all the way to the top. From there, just drop into the little box, and jump over the buzzsaw as it heads towards you. I managed the level in about 5.82 ------------------------------------------------------------------------------- [1-15] Cactus Jumper Bandages: 0 Par Time: 10.00 Strategy I'm not sure what they're talking about with the cactus thing. It's not the cacti you have to worry about, it's the spinning buzz-saws! Anyway, as soon as the level starts, take off in a dash to the right. Jump over the buzz-saw at the last minute you can, and hopefully that'll carry you halfway up the right wall. Walljump to to the next level, and repeat the process. You want to have only one or two walljumps per level. Don't bother jumping into the tinly alcove on the next-to-top level, by the way. If you need to you can jump over the buzzsaw and hit the ceiling that's only one space above it, no problem. The alcove just slows you down. ------------------------------------------------------------------------------- [1-16] Sidewinder Bandages: 0 Par Time: 9.00 Strategy Wait for the buzzsaw nearest you to spit out one before dropping down, but make it all the way down before the next one comes. In the next portal up, just make sure you jump to the right wall when there is no saw, then jump to the left wall and hope all the way up there. It's a simple process from there of timing your last fall for right after the flying buzzsaw. Whew! Made it! ------------------------------------------------------------------------------- [1-17] Morningstar Bandages: 0 Par Time: 9.00 Strategy I managed this level like this. Run under the first buzzsaw then cower in the right corner until it passes. Jump up and over it, then walljump up the left wall. Jump to the top of the left wall, jump to the island in the center when the top buzzsaw is beneath it and make the last leap to your lady. ------------------------------------------------------------------------------- [1-18] Altamont Bandages: 1 Par Time: 4.00 Strategy To get this band-aid. Imagine that all the buzzsaws are clocks. They are all moving at the same time, which is awful nice of them. We are going to time our movements by these clocks. Jump from the left platform to the top left buzzsaw platform when the hands are on 9:00. Jump from this platform to the middle platform again when the hands are at 9:00. Jump (do NOT fall) to the bottom-right platform when the hands are at 6:00. Fall down to grab the band-aid when the hands are at 12:00. From there, jump as fast as you can over to the right wall, and just time your walljump up to band-aid girl for when the hands are at 9:00. Whew! Getting the optimal time is way easier. Jump to the first platform as soon as you can move, then jump immediately to the second top platform. Wait until the hands are just a little before 9:00, jump to the third, and then you're home. ------------------------------------------------------------------------------- [1-19] Intermission *Warp Zone* Bandages: 0 Par Time: 20.00 Strategy By now you should know enough to be able to handle basic instructions, so I'll just let you know about the general overview of tactics. You'll want to jump right over this buzzsaw on the right wall so you can go R->L->over. The first buzzsaw jump on the left wall and walljump onto the platform that anchors the buzzsaw. Fall off it to the right, and jump over the ground-based buzzsaw when the spinning one is overhead. If you time your jump so that you leap right when you hit the different-colored patch of rock in the next tunnel, you'll leap between all the buzzsaws. In the last segment, remember that you can tap jump very quickly to leap over the spinning buzzsaws, but still not hit the big buzzsaw overhead. I made it in like 12.00 ------------------------------------------------------------------------------- [1-20] Bandages: 1 Par Time: 22.00 Strategy So the test LOOKS pretty intimidating, but take it one step at a time and you'll be fine. Walljump up the left wall to begin with. Remember, you have a looong walljump, so as soon as you see that buzzsaw coming down, leap out, and return to the left wall once it's gone. To get the band-aid, jump to the top of the buzzsaw wall, wait until the buzzsaw shoots out from the left wall, then jump into the top left corner, grab the band-aid, then walljump right back. Fall down the right side of the wall and walljump to the crumbly wall in the middle. Wait for it to break, (don't break the bottom 2 blocks) then jump through, rub against the right side of the breakables until they too shatter, and jump to the right part of the level. This part is just a timing bit. Drop down and run as soon as the buzzsaw goes past you. It may take a few tries, but I can consistently get this level done in 19.00 using this strategy. ------------------------------------------------------------------------------- [1-1X] Oh, Hello Bandages: 0 Par Time: 3.00 Strategy This introduces you to the much more menacing dark world! Notice how spooky it is, how there are clouds of dust, and things are sort of broken down, and also the huge buzz-saws. To finish this level, run quickly up to the right side of the level, and jump left into band-aid girl's arms. ------------------------------------------------------------------------------- [1-2X] Onward Bandages: 0 Par Time: 4.00 Strategy This is a really good time to practice your vertical wall-jump. Don't press right or left immediately after wall jumping, just hold the jump button and you should jump up well far enough to leapfrog over the buzzsaws. ------------------------------------------------------------------------------- [1-3X] BZZZZZ Bandages: 1 Par Time: 10.00 Strategy This doesn't need to be a 10.00 level. The correct solution here seems like it would be a fancy trick, but I was able to do it with no problem, so I assume you will too! Walljump to the bottom metal square on the rightmost wall. From there, carefully jump JUST over the center buzzsaw. It might take you two or three tries, but you'll get the band-aid and be on a trajectory that lands you right on band-aid girl. ------------------------------------------------------------------------------- [1-4X] Plum Rain Bandages: 0 Par Time: 12.00 Strategy Jump all the way across the spides to the opposite wall, walljump up to the next level. From here it's just a series of walljumps until you start heading right again. You should land on the platform after the buzzsaw, jump and catch the wall halfway up. Walljump on that wall once more for height, jump over all the buzzsaws on the top level, and get up to your girl! ------------------------------------------------------------------------------- [1-5X] Creamsoda Bandages: 1 Par Time: 10.00 Strategy The only really trick part of this is the vert first shaft full of buzzsaws. To navigate it properly, run right up without jumping to the right wall. Jump up, which will cause you to slowly slide. Slide up to right underneath the buzzsaw, and then you should be able to walljump up the wall like normal. There IS a band-aid here, but it's hard to see. To get it, get on top of the first shaft, then turn and jump to the right-most wall (left of the shaft you just got out of). When you've slid up as far as you'll go, walljump to the left part of that shaft and slide all the way up to riiiight underneath the buzzsaw there. You should get (and see) the band-aid. Slide back dwon to the right, and complete the level like normal. ------------------------------------------------------------------------------- [1-6X] I Am The Night Bandages: 0 Par Time: 7.00 Strategy It's spooky in here! Run until you're just past the metal pole, then leap to the rightmost wall. Walljump over the spikes pressing left as far as you can go. DON'T try to get more height, just walljump back right. From here, walljump up the right wall to get height, then over the buzzsaws to get band-aid girl. ------------------------------------------------------------------------------- [1-7X] Two Roads Bandages: 0 Par Time: 5.00 Strategy The easiest way to go this time is up the sheer wall right in front of you. Walljump up there, and onto the safe platform up top. Start dashing towards the right, and tap jump right before you get to the buzzsaw to get between the two of them. Make it to your damsel in distress. ------------------------------------------------------------------------------- [1-8X] Big Red Bandages: 0 Par Time: 6.00 Strategy In principle, I can d escribe this level in a way that sounds easy. In reality, it's gonna take a lot of tries. Walljump up the left wall, leaping off and just barely overshooting the first set of buzzsaws. Pull left so that you are pressed against the right side of the wall. Slide down pretty far, then tap the jump button so you go between the two central saws. Hit the left side of the right wall. Jump to the top, then do a gentle hop to the right and your date for tonight. You will probably die a lot here. It's cool though, keep at it and you'll get the time limit no sweat. ------------------------------------------------------------------------------- [1-9X] So Close Bandages: 0 Par Time: 11.00 Strategy I actually did this one on my first try, but I bet I couldn't repeat that performance (I can't, I tried). Hop to the left wall and walljump over the saw. Jump to the crumbly wall, and springboard off it to the next platform. Jump off of the lefthand crumbly wall here to hit the BOTTOM, and only the bottom of the righthand crumbly wall. Leap to the top of the crumbly wall, jump between the saws, and vault the final saw to your honey. ------------------------------------------------------------------------------- [1-10X] Walls Bandages: 1 Par Time: 11.00 Strategy Ok this can be deceptively tough! First leap up and slide up the top 3 or so blocks of the left crumbly wall. Once they're gone, leap over the center crumbly block to hit the wall on the left. Using a combination of walljumps and sliding, get past that wall. Now comes the tricky part. Try to hit as far to the top of the top-right crumbly wall as you can. Ideally you will land on top of the remaining bottom part of the wall, leap over the gap getting the band-aid, and hit the opposite wall. Once there, use walljumps and sliding to get through to your lover. ------------------------------------------------------------------------------- [1-11X] Doused Bandages: 0 Par time: 13.00 Strategy The key to this level is height. Fall down the right side of the cliff, then run right up to the floor buzzsaw on the right. Jump up, and use your slide up the crumbly wall to get as high up as you can before walljumping up to the next level. From there jump back to the right and land on top of the crumbly wall. That should let you jump over the buzzsaws on the left. From there just work your way up and to the right! *****CONTRIBUTED GUIDE***** When I played though level 1-11x, I found it much easier to beat the level with an A+ if, while holding dash the whole level, at the second crumbling wall, you wall-jump while holding right first, before continuing to the next crumbling wall. If you wall-jump quickly enough, you can bounce directly from the fourth crumbling wall to the last one, bypassing the whole spike area. Personally, I found this way a lot easier than the way mentioned in your FAQ. Thanks for the great guide though. -CMC **************************** ------------------------------------------------------------------------------- [1-12X] Fireal Bandages: 0 Par time: 12.00 Strategy Not too tough a level. Fall off the ledge to the left, then walljump to the crumbly wall on the right. Use walljumps and slides to get through it. Jump up to the next wall, and break apart most (but NOT all) of the top of the wall. Jump through, and walljump off the intact top of the wall over to the right. From there it's a simple clime to your lady. ------------------------------------------------------------------------------- [1-13X] Tommy's Condo *Warp Zone* Bandages: 0 Par Time: 12.00 Strategy While there are plenty of buzzsaws, the only real trick comes in avoiding the two going in opposite directions on the topmost hallway. For the others, just make sure you jump over them while they're moving TOWARDS you. For the tricky top ones, get a running start while they are at the very top and bottom of their path, and you should be able to jump through. Now, you COULD just drop down and get band-aid girl (and the par time, too!), but why don't you jump UP, under the top buzzsaw on the metal platform, then jump over the bottom saw to... WARP ZONE! ------------------------------------------------------------------------------- [1-14X] Mystery Spot Bandages: 1 Par time: 14.00 Strategy The key to this level is realizing that if a buzzsaw is coming towards you on the wall, you can walljump, but still move in the direction of the wall you came from, you'll jump right over the buzzsaws. Use this tactic to get on top of the first mobile buzzsaw, then hop to the top. Once up here, you can slide down the righthand side of the left wall, hop over the saw as it heads towards you, wait until the last buzzsaw is travelling up and hop into the nook on the left side, then walljump up to band-aid girl, OR if you want the band-aid, you can jump to the right side of the cabin thing, slide down the right wall, and drop down onto the bottom of the wall once the buzzsaw is moving down. Walljump out to avoid it and land right on the band-aid. Use the trick from earlier to walljump on top of the buzzsaw as it's moving down, then walljump without moving to the right. This should push you out so that you can get back up on the top lip. From there finish the level like before. ------------------------------------------------------------------------------- [1-15X] Kick Machine Bandages: 1 Par Time: 18.00 Strategy This level is about the long jumps. You'll get slowed down too much if you are always trying to wait for the perfect time to jump over each buzzsaw. So start out dashing to the right and long-jumping. You should hit the top of an over- hang on the ceiling. From there, jump to the right edge of the middl level, and long-jump over the rest of the buzzsaws. The rest of the level is just timing. Make sure and dash forward then the buzzsaws pass over you, and leap when they're right at you. You can see the buzzsaw launcher make a little movement before it launches. Stand right in front of band-aid girl until you see that movement, then leap up and over her to get the band-aid. Even with getting the band-aid, I got it in about 17.50 ------------------------------------------------------------------------------- [1-16X] Night Game Bandages: 0 Par Time: 17.00 Strategy This is another one of those spooky levels! There are three columns. You go up the first, down the second, and up the third. The first and third are simple. There are plenty of nooks to hide in, so just time your jumps so you're in the nooks when the buzzsaws fly past. For the second column, stand right by the edge of the platform you're on, and dash off of it the very second the buzzsaw shoots fires (but try not to get stuck sliding on the opposite wall), and you'll make it alright. As long as you get into a rhythm, you shouldn't have any trouble making the par time. ------------------------------------------------------------------------------- [1-17X] The Clock Bandages: 1 Par Time: 12.00 Strategy This level is called the clock, and appropriately it's all about timing. Wait until the first buzzsaw is right about to reach bottom to dash forward. Jump up the right side of the wall and walljump between the two spinning blades, almost hitting the big stationary saw. Jump to about even with the center of the giant saw, and walljump across the level to the right side, there to get the band-aid. If you stay there and time things just right, you can walljump off the island with two buzzsaws connected to it, and over to band-aid girl. If you don't have to worry about getting the band-aid, this should get you the par time too. ------------------------------------------------------------------------------- [1-18X] Whitewash Bandages: 0 Par Time: 5.00 Strategy Sort of the opposite of the blackout levels. Don't be intimidated by the monochrome level though, it isn't too hard. Jump out over the first buzzsaw, and curve back so you hit its right side. YOu can walljump over the top of the central buzzsaw, hit the left side of the next island, and walljump to the lady. ------------------------------------------------------------------------------- [1-19X] The Queener Bandages: 1 Par Time: 17.00 Strategy This level is just like light world 1-19, so you can look at the strategy for that. The only difference is that there is kind of a time limit, by which I mean there are giant whirling spikes of death advancing swiftly to destroy you. Make sure to grab the band-aid above the first floating island, by wall-jumping when you're a little below it. Keep moving and you'll get the par time easily. ------------------------------------------------------------------------------- [1-20X] A Perfect End Bandages: 0 Par Time: 25.00 Strategy Spiky! This level requires that you put your skills from level 1 to good use. Immediately run to the left, stick to the wall, and jump while pressing left to clear the buzzsaw that flies up. That should get you to the top of the first tower. Fall down and hit the first section of breakable wall, then jump back to the wall on the left. Walljump off and hit the second section, and jump back. The rest of this level is just a timing game. Run as soon as the buzzsaws shoot. I was able to make this level in about 2.00. ------------------------------------------------------------------------------- [1-Boss] LIL SLUGGER ***ZOMG BOSS*** Bandages: 0 Strategy Oh DANG it that dang 'ol Dr. Fetus COMPLETLEY torched the dang 'ol forest. Well, there's only one thing for it: RUN! Completely ignore the poor squirrels who are buzzsawed to death. Why are these buzzsaws even HERE? It's a complete mystery to you, gentle meatboy. Keep a couple things in mind during this chase. Thing 1: if there is ever a breakable wall in front of a buzzsaw pit, what you do is jump onto the very top of the wall, then walljump back to safety. The top will break, you'll jump through, and continue on. Thing 2: If you see some buzzsaws, try to get where they can't hurt you- like directly under one anchored in the floor, or just outside the range of one that's in the air, and time your run so that you run through JUST when it passes you. Those two pieces of advice should honestly carry you to the end. Jump up to the little place there, and watch as the machine breaks down, Meat Boy doesn't seem to have Dr. Fetus at all, and Fetus and Band-Aid girl escape! Nooooo! =============================================================================== [CH 2] Hospital Man if you thought the FOREST was spooky check out this place. Old spooky manor, burned out forest, freaky looking planet. Ugh. Well, let's get started! ------------------------------------------------------------------------------- [2-1] Biohazard Bandages: 0 Par Time: 11.00 Strategy This level is all about avoiding the purple spikeys. The only really hard part is the column right before the end- you can't walljump from the left wall all the way to the end, instead jump from the right side of the left wall to the right side of the right wall, and jump to the exit from there. ------------------------------------------------------------------------------- [2-2] One Down Bandages: 1 Par Time: 10.50 Strategy As you might suspect, the big smoky barriers are no-go's. Don't even think about touching them! Do a small hop through the first barrier, slide down the right side of the wall, jump to the hole in the second barrier, and fall off the right side of it to get the band-aid. Cling to the right wall, then wall- jump all the way down to ladylady. ------------------------------------------------------------------------------- [2-3] Memories Bandages: 0 Par Time: 14.00 Strategy This level is really easy if you realize one thing- if you just lightly tap jump as lightly as you can, you'll leap up high enough to clear the saws, but not high enough to hit the spikes on top. ------------------------------------------------------------------------------- [2-4] Blew Bandages: 0 Par Time: 9.50 Strategy There's a simple trick to this level- you want to get in the air current as close to the base of the fan as possible. If you hit it at the top, the current won't be enough to blow you to the next level, but get in there at the base and you'll be fine. Of course, get in too FAR down and the blades will mash you up. ------------------------------------------------------------------------------- [2-5] Big Empty Bandages: 1 Par Time: 16.00 Strategy Don't attempt to go right! To get the band-aid, you want to walljump up the left wall, grab the fan, and ride it all the way to the right side. Land on the bottom ledge, grab the band-aid, and catch the fan back. Now walljump up the left side all the way to the top, and ride the fans (just push forward) to the chick on the right. Repeat without the band-aid to get the time. ------------------------------------------------------------------------------- [2-6] The Grain Bandages: 0 Par Time: 15.00 Strategy This level is called "the grain", as in, "go with the grain". Leap up the left wall, hop off the right side of the top. Drop down the very right hole and into the long shaft down. Hop over to the right, and ride the currents to victory! I made it in about 12.00 ------------------------------------------------------------------------------- [2-7] Hush Bandages: 0 Par Time: 19.00 Strategy As you can probably guess, don't touch the awful lava monsters. Quickly jump up to the right and onto the floating platform. From there it's up to the left, then to the next floating platform, and walljump up to the right. There will be one more floating island to the left of the topmost platform, so get up there and up and to the right. There is your treasure! ------------------------------------------------------------------------------- [2-8] The Sabbath *Warp Zone* Bandages: 0 Par Time: 25.00 Strategy To get a good start on this level, simply dash right off the platform. Keep heading right as you fall and you'll catch the edge so you can wallclimb up. You'll want to walljump over the next series of buzzsaws, no big deal, and then catch the left side of the cavern up. Look to your right up there- you should see a portal! It's behind a hidden wall, so just jump over when you're level with it, and enter! If you've already got the portal, you'll want to slide halfway down the wall in the middle of the cavern, walljump off the right side of it over the pile of syringes, and hop over to your true love. ------------------------------------------------------------------------------- [2-9] Blood Swamp Bandages: 0 Par Time: 11.00 Strategy The one trick to this level is when to jump from floating wall to floating wall, between the saws. Wait until the wall is clear just below the bottom rotating saw, and jump over. Just get purchase on the right wall and you're good. From there, jump to the top, over the slugs if need be, and then hop over to your sweetie. I can get this pretty consistently in about 7.00 ------------------------------------------------------------------------------- [2-10] Johnny's Cage Bandages: 1 Par Time: 12.00 Strategy Meet the lock and key levels! The idea is pretty simple: ye grabs the key and the lock blocks disappear. To start out with, dash-jump to the left, so you hit the top of the syringe shooter. Fall down and grab the band-aid, and be ready to vault to your right when you hit the bottom edge. Float to the center island on the fans, and up to the top-right of the cage to get the key. Jump back down and use the slow-down provided by the fan to float to the center island, and use the left fan to fly back up and into the cage for your sweetie. ------------------------------------------------------------------------------- [2-11] Ghost Key Bandages: 0 Par Time: 9.00 Strategy Dash to the right. As soon as you grab the key, the lock blocks are going to start disappearing. Walljump up the right wall, hop off the left, and just walljump and slide to stay in place until the wall disappears, then fall to the right into the arms of your beloved. Shouldn't be a problem to make it in about 7.00 ------------------------------------------------------------------------------- [2-12] Above *Warp Zone* Bandages: 0 Par Time: 11.00 Strategy Just getting the par time is child's play in this level. Jump all the way to the right, grab the key, and hotfoot back left. Got to beware because now there are buzzsaw launchers, but honestly as long as you just look for when they're coming down, you'll be cool. Getting the PORTAL is kind of another thing. You still got to get the key on the righthand side, and then BOOK IT back to the left. You'll see two upside- down TVs on the top of the screen. A key will fall from the larger one, and you'll have to jump and grab it, and land on the opposite ledge. ------------------------------------------------------------------------------- [2-13] Ulcer Pop Bandages: 1 Par Time: 10.00 Strategy Floating moaning ulcers, pools of toxic blood, locked front door... sounds like a great hospital! It's not too complex of a jumping level, just figure out how high you jump, make sure there are no ulcers in the way, and clear 'em. You should be able to make the band-aid girl in about 7.00 The band-aid is pretty hard to find though! See that key behind band-aid girl? Grab it, and head allll the way back down to the bottom floor. The band-aid is one square to the right of the right-bottom of the hallway. ------------------------------------------------------------------------------- [2-14] Aunt Flo Bandages: 0 Par Time: 16.00 Strategy Gross level name! Quite simple though. Just jump right near the bottom of the fan, to catch the strong updraft. The key is on the right. The second fan from the right will take you up to get the last key, and from there simply fall to the left. The fan will propel you up enough to make it back to the sweetie-pie. ------------------------------------------------------------------------------- [2-15] Gallbladder *Warp Zone* Bandages: 0 Par Time: 19.00 Strategy You start out below the facility, walljump up (remember to walljump and stop moving towards the wall to get over the lip), and instead of going through the tunnel climb up the lefthand wall. There are little islands there, so you should be able to use those to jump up. Once you get to the passageway on the top, jump up to the left and over the lip, and enter the building through the open window on the left to get to the warp zone! If you aren't going for the warp zone, drop down the right side of the tunnel, hop over the island, and slide down the right wall. Jump away from the saw, and hit your princess. ------------------------------------------------------------------------------- [2-16] SYNJ Bandages: 1 Par Time: 15.00 Strategy Look at the floor below where you start. See that thin red line? It's harmless. For awhile. Then it stops being thin, and it stops being harmless. Welcome to the lasers! The bacter-recommended way of beating this level is pretty easy. Fall off the initial place to your left. Walljump up to the next level, and then to the island with the band-aid. Jump over to the right, and stand above the laser there. Start running as soon as it turns off, and jump into the middle safe area if you need to. Band-aid lady is to your right. ------------------------------------------------------------------------------- [2-17] Worm Food Bandages: 0 Par Time: 14.00 Strategy This time you HAVE to deal with the laser! Immediately dash to the left, and walljump as quickly as you can into the safe zone. If you start wall- jumping immediately after the first laser is done, you should be able to make it out before the second laser blast hits. Don't bother leaving the facility, just walljump up either side, between the laser blasts, to reach B-A-G in the middle. ------------------------------------------------------------------------------- [2-18] Destructoid Bandages: 1 Par Time: 16.00 Strategy This is a level where it's fairly easy to get the par time, and REALLY tough to get the band-aid. Well it was tough to figure out, at any rate. To get the par time, just walljump up to the top (the lasers are basically always on, so watch out!), slide down, grab the key, and beat the disappearing floor back to the place where you started, and then fall left once the wall is gone to get your main squeeze. Getting the band-aid requires a little more fancy work. Watch the clock intently. You want to pick up the key at more or less exactly 11.00. Once you get that, run back and stand on the bottom right corner of the lock floor the wall in front of you should be disappearing at almost exactly 20.00. At 20.00-20.50 (almost no time at all!), the lasers will dim, and you can run forward. You're trying to hit that black square in the wall in front of you. Once yout hit it, you'll drop down. Make your way up and left, and you'll emerge in that grinder... thing... room. Walljump up the side, being careful not to hit the saw, jump over the top for the band-aid, and return to where you came from. Position yourself on the diagonal floor piece right by the laser, and wait for 40.00. At that time, leap to the start, and get to band-aid girl. ------------------------------------------------------------------------------- [2-19] Six Feet Bandages: 0 Par Time: 14.00 Strategy QUICKLY dash to the left (or right) and walljump. If you are real quick, you should be able to make it to one of the safe ledges above before the laser fires. Grab the key, keeping in mind that now a third laser will fire from below. Right after it's done firing, drop down into that pit, and when you've got a lot of falling momentum hug the right wall. You will slide right down into band-aid girl's arms! I did this level in like 7.20 ------------------------------------------------------------------------------- [2-20] Day Breaker Bandages: 1 Par Time: 24.00 Strategy The easy way to do this is as follows. Run right, hop up to the next leve, then take the top left window out of the building. Walljump to the roof, then fall right onto the fan. If you want the band-aid, continue to fall down to the right, enter through the ceiling, and hop over to the left for it. Otherwise, band-aid girl is up and to the right, over the floating islands. ------------------------------------------------------------------------------- [2-1X] Back Track Bandages: 0 Par Time: 17.00 Strategy Some seriously tough walljumps here! Remember that if you are close to the huge pile of syringes, you want to be on the bottom of the wall you're jumping off, so that you don't hit the spikes on the ceiling. That IS B-A-G on the wall at the end there, so don't be afraid to leap onto her. I'm pretty good at walljumps, so I first-timed this at about 10.00 ------------------------------------------------------------------------------- [2-2X] Pinkeye Falls Bandages: 0 Par Time: 14.00 Strategy There's a real easy way to beat this level, in like 5.00. Fall right off the cliff, and keep to the right of the barrier. When you're even with the second gap in the syring shooters, start falling right. You should hit the wall right above the second overhang with syringes. Walljump from here over its right side keeping on the same side of the barrier. When you're under that, fall right as fast as you can. You should hit B-A-G. ------------------------------------------------------------------------------- [2-3X] Buzzzzcut Bandages: 0 Par Time: 13.00 Strategy This is a simple level as long as you know the trick; tapping the jump button as lightly as you can will make you jump exactly in between the two buzzsaws that come flying at you every other corridor. Once you know that, you can just leap over every saw that comes your way. The par time should be a cinch. ------------------------------------------------------------------------------- [2-4X] Blown Bandages: 1 Par Time: 14.00 Strategy Look to the top-left of your screen immediately on entering this level to see the band-aid. There's no secret trick to gettin it; just jump out, grab it, and make it back to the main floor. Remember the trick about hitting the blasts of air as close to the fan as possible, and you should get plenty of height for this level. Besides the one at the very beginning, there won't be any annoying fans trying to knock you off course. The par time shouldn't be a problem. ------------------------------------------------------------------------------- [2-5X] Agent orange *Warp Zone* Bandages: 0 Par Time: 20.00 Strategy Wallclimb up the left wall until you're almost at the buzzsaw, then leap across the islands to the right. If you hit the rightmost wall and fall down into the fan, it's blast should carry you to an island with a warp zone! If you've already gotten that warp zone, use the blast to ride up above the next level of syringes. Once there, jump up to where the buzzsaw is. Run up to the wall and jump, using your slide to get above the saw, then jump out. Ride the next blast of air up and to the left, landing on the last island before the top level. Jump up there, and it's a simple series of jumps over syringes to get to your female. ------------------------------------------------------------------------------- [2-6X] Cher Noble Bandages: 1 Par Time: 19.00 Strategy Fall down and ride the blast of air to the left. Make sure to touch down on the last island before the wall, so you can jump over the syringes. Walljump up the left wall. if you time your leap so you jump when you're just about even with the next floor, you can clear all the syringes. Hop up and ride the blast left, leaping up the small islands. Right before you get the band-aid silhouette, drop down right in front of the big fan to get this level's band-aid. Then go get her! The par time might be a little tricky on this level. Practice the last part, because I kept getting stuck there. Fight against the breeze when you need to, just make sure you aren't getting too blown around. ------------------------------------------------------------------------------- [2-7X] The Moon Bandages: 1 Par Time: 30.00 Strategy This level can be kind of tricky! Jump up and to the left, reaching the next level down. There will be a one-block raise in the floor there, stand on that and jump over this whole section. Slide down the right, hiding in the hole while the monster moves past. Jump over the syringes, over the barrier, and slide down the left wall. From here just jump to the bottom level, collecting the band-aid on the tiny island to the left, before jumping right and getting your queen. ------------------------------------------------------------------------------- [2-8X] Grape Soda Bandages: 0 Par Time: 33.00 Strategy There's no real fun way to do this. I managed it by jumping up the left of the first cliff, and walljumping as far up and right as I could go JUST before I reached the little gap up there. That carried me all the way over to some breakable floors. I quickly jumped off of there to the floating block with the monster and dropped down to the other breakable floors. The next section was the familiar "jump on the breakable wall, then back until it breaks, then jump through the hole" bit. Do that twice, and you're at the end! It's kind of a long level, but you've got a long time limit. ------------------------------------------------------------------------------- [2-9X] Centipede Bandages: 0 Par Time: 14.00 Strategy Leap from the initial ledge to the center one with the buzzsaw. The way to get over it is to walljump from about three blocks beneath it, then curve to the right to walljump off of the other wall. Walljump to the top level. I went over top of the buzzsaw and under the next block to avoid the awful monsters. ------------------------------------------------------------------------------- [2-10X] The Kracken Bandages: 1 Par Time: 13.00 Strategy This can be a tough band-aid to get! Fall right off the left side of the ledge, and ride the air current up. You want to start moving towards the band- aid a little before you're even with the bottom of the center island. You should get it at the top of your arc, then immediately turn and get back in the air current. Ride it to the center island, walljump and get the left key. From there, use the current to slow your fall and move you to the center island, grab the key, and jump to the right fan, which will blow you up to the final key. Get it, jump to the center, and drop down. You should be able to get the band-aid and the par in one go, but without worrying about the band-aid the par should be no trouble at all. ------------------------------------------------------------------------------- [2-11X] Spineless Bandages: 0 Par Time: 12.50 Strategy The first part of this level is basically just like 2-11 in the light world. Dash right, grab the key, walljump your way to the top. When you grab the SECOND key it gets tricky. What you want to do is wait until the second vertical part of the second key wall is evaporating. Walljump off the top part of it before it goes, and run along the top of the keywall. Ride it down as it vanishes, and get your girl. ------------------------------------------------------------------------------- [2-12X] Grey Matter Bandages: 1 Par Time: 22.50 Strategy This place isn't so bad to begin with, but its' going to be a MADHOUSE by the end. Jump allll the way to the right, grab the key. Head back, keeping in mind there are four more buzzsaws now. Grab the key above your girl, and head back right. The final key is in the center compartment, with buzzsaws flying everywhere. Before you finish the level, drop down to a hidden place under B-A-G for your bandaid. Walljump without holding a directional button to make it back up! ------------------------------------------------------------------------------- [2-13X] Dust Bunnies Bandages: 0 Par Time: 11.00 Strategy Watch out for the big piles of syringes! The key to this level is to keep moving. Only delay a second or two to let the ulcers move out of the way. Remember at the biggest pile of syringes that the longer you hold the jump button the higher you go! ------------------------------------------------------------------------------- [2-14X] Crawl Space Bandages: 0 Par Time: 31.00 Strategy First hop all the way to the right, and pick up the key. Don't land on the bottom floor, it's all syringes! Ride the new central fan up. There is a key on either side, and a lavamonster crawling around. When it hits the one-space opening, you can dash under it. When it hits the half-space opening, it turns around. Use these facts to get the keys, and return to the right. ------------------------------------------------------------------------------- [2-15X] Insurance? Bandages: 1 Par Time: 32.00 Strategy Hop up to the left, over the buzzsaw. The way to get around the floaty guy is to walljump right by him and use the slide to get above him. Once out, grab the key, then walljump onto the ledge. Grab the next key, and keep ahead of the vanishing blocks, until you slide down into the next corridor. Notice the band-aid that appeared where the blocks used to be. Jump out, grab it, walljump off the patch of open wall under the syringes, and land in the upper corridor. After this point it's just an "avoid the floaty guys" game. Drop down, over the islands, and take a right into the corridor. Jump or duck under the floaty guys, grab the final key, drop down, and git out! If you keep moving, you can make this level in about 23.00 ------------------------------------------------------------------------------- [2-16X] P.S.Y. Bandages: 1 Par Time: 16.00 Strategy Fall off the left of the platform and walljump up to the top of the horizontal laser. After it's done firing leap to the right, and get in the corridor on the top. You can use the middle jump area for safety to avoid the blasts. Before jumping up and getting B-A-G, drop down, cling to the right side of the bit of wall down here, grab the band-aid, and wallclimb back up. ------------------------------------------------------------------------------- [2-17X] Nels Box Bandages: 0 Par Time: 12.00 Strategy There is a really simple way to beat this level in under 6.00. As soon as the clock starts, slide down the left wall. You will make it to the floor without incident. As soon as the center laser stops firing, jump down the center pit, clinging to the right wall. Grab the pink girl at the bottom! ------------------------------------------------------------------------------- [2-18X] Electrolysis Bandages: 0 Par Time: 17.00 Strategy Immediately leap forward, and slide down the incline. When you fall off the lasers should be dimmed, so you can safely hit bottom and jump to the left wall. You will slide up and then down a ways, and when you are at the darker block near the bottom, jump again. You will jump up and land on the little overhang on the right side. Those were the hardest two jumps of the level! From here jump to the left and slide way up, so you are ready to jump to the top next time the lasers cut out. After this, time your jumps for when the lasers will go out. You can let them cycle a few times to get a feel for the timing. You want to be falling towards the lasers on the trip down the left side (stick to the left side) when they go off to make sure you get through. The last trick is to jump towards your lady once the vertical laser cuts out, hit the little bit of wall on the left side, and walljump. Stay in the air as long as you can, and then when you hit the ground the horizontal laser will have cut out. Jump up and get your prize. ------------------------------------------------------------------------------- [2-19X] Tenebrae Bandages: 0 Par Time: 26.00 Strategy Immediately walljump to the left and slide into the safe space. You should be able to walljump out of this hole before the next laser blast. As soon as you get up start to walljump up either side, being aware that the top of the shaft is syringes. Get the key, and wait until all three lasers have cut out. Then make a short hop to the other side, where you can walljump once and get on the other edge. This opens the last two doors, and lets you get the duchess. ------------------------------------------------------------------------------- [2-20X] Solemnity Bandages: 0 Par Time: 36.00 Strategy Hop up into the facility. The key to the locked door is in the hallway to the right underneath the doors. Jump up and to the left. Leave this room by the top-left window, and get the key by entering through the hole in the wall. Jump over the roof, land to the left of the fan. Jump in the fan's blast, and ride it to the floaty islands in the top-right. That's where your quarry is! ------------------------------------------------------------------------------- [2-Boss] C.H.A.D. **ZOMG BOSS FIGHT!** Bandages: 0 Strategy AUGH WHAT IS IT OH GOSH. Ok so it's a horrible blood monster. It has a couple moves, so once you know what it's doing it's not so bad to avoid. It can appear in the center, in which case it's about ready to jump straight up in the air. It can appear at one of the sides, in which case get near it because it's about to jump across the level. It can dash madly from side to side. Just avoid it. The key to beathing this level is understand how the blood rises. It rises either when the blood guy is moving back and forth quickly, or after he is done jumping. What you want to do, then, is to grab the keys while he is jumping, so that you have a long amount of time to get back in position before the blood starts to rise. Get near the center of the screen, until the center blood starts to bubble. Then dash out of the way, grab the key, and start hopping up! First thing's first! Grab the key to the right, and immediately jump back to the center. From there climb the center platform, jump to the platform to the left, and get climbin'! Reach the top of the center platform here, and move down through it. Grab the key on the right, and BOOK IT back up. You'll want to wallclimb the center platform in one jump. Jump to the left, onto the platform there, and ascend the central tower. While the blob is jumping at you, grab the key on the right, which releases the key on the LEFT. Hop over there, and grab it, making sure you don't fall into the blood! The light will end the level, whew! =============================================================================== [CH 3] Salt Factory Salt factory?! This doesn't sound like any place for a little guy made out of meat! :O Well, our loved one is through here, so we'll have to brave it! Stick with me! ------------------------------------------------------------------------------- [3-1] Pit Stop Bandages: 1 Par Time: 9.50 Strategy Welcome to the salt factory! As you might guess, salt isn't great for our meat boy. Sure it makes him tasty, but that is disgusting! This first run though we're concerned with getting the band-aid, so leap up the wall right in front of you, run to the right, and time the jump just perfect so you go in between the two saws. You should be standing right about as right as you can go without landing in the salt. Once back down, jump over the salt pile, time your walljump so you don't hit the buzzsaw, and on the top level use walljumps and sliding to break down the barrier. ------------------------------------------------------------------------------- [3-2] The Salt Lick Bandages: 1 Par Time: 8.30 Strategy Drop down off the right side immediately, and then fall to the left. At the bottom of the pit is a bandage. The rest of this level is a fairly mundane series of walljumps. Remember: sliding up a wall is your friend! ------------------------------------------------------------------------------- [3-3] Push Bandages: 0 Par Time: 16.00 Strategy Meet the conveyer belt! As you'd expect, it pushes you in one direction, in this case right. Your friend in this level is big long jumps. You'll clear lots of salt along the ground if you make long jumps. Be ready for lots of salt shooters. You need to go all the way to the right for the key, and all the way back left for you amore. ------------------------------------------------------------------------------- [3-4] Transmissions Bandages: 1 Par Time: 12.00 Strategy I THINK this bandage is impossible to get with meat boy, so please note that I'm using Josef for the bandage, and meat boy for the par time. You want to stick to the walls as much as possible on the first tower. Recall the trick to jump over the buzzsaws, by moving towards the wall while jumping away from it. Once you get to the top level, fall off the conveyer belt in the middle with Josef. Once you touch the band-aid, jump back up onto the belt. Run to the right, and descend the tower. You want to be on the belts here, so run against the grain. This is much easier with the faster meat boy. ------------------------------------------------------------------------------- [3-5] Uptown *Warp Zone* Bandages: 0 Par Time: 12.20 Strategy This is a tough warp zone to get, so pay attention! When the level starts, move to the left edge of the platform. Pretty soon a key will fall, just to the left, in the gap. Jump and grab it! It will unlock a block at the bottom left of the building to your right. Jump around the building, enter the block, and hit the warp zone! During your next playthrough, just hug the conveyer belts. They will shoot you into the air. Repeat this three times, and grab your girlie at the very top. ------------------------------------------------------------------------------- [3-6] The Shaft Bandages: 0 Par Time: 4.50 Strategy This level is quite simple, but can still be really annoying. Run into the vertical treadmill. You'll want to basically mash the opposite directional button from the wall you're on as soon as you hit each treadmill, to avoid hittin the salt. If you do that, you'll zip right to the top. Easy! ------------------------------------------------------------------------------- [3-7] Mind the Gap Bandages: 1 Par Time: 12.40 Strategy I'm not sure if this portal is possible to get without double jump, so I'll be getting the portal with Comm. Video and the rest of the level with meat boy. The portal is super hard to get. Fall down to the right immediately and catch the very bottom of the treadmill up. You won't make it all the way to the next treadmill, so use your glide power when you're even with the very bottom of it. It will catapult you up over the salt. When you fall, use the glide power when you're even with the portal (below the stop for the treadmill), and float over quickly to grab it! For the par time, this is a launcher level. Jump down to the right, and catch the treadmill up. It iwll launch you to the treadmill on the left of the salt pile. Ride that treadmill over the pile, The treadmill on the right of it will launch you the rest of the way to the right, where you can get your lay-dee. ------------------------------------------------------------------------------- [3-8] Boomtown Bandages: 0 Par Time: 8.30 Strategy Meet the rocket launcher! This is one mean mother. They have a sort of limited homing capability, which you REALLY don't want to test out. This level can be solved best by just a flat-out run. Dash to your right, climb the wall as quick as you can, and drop down and right. Climb the next wall as quickly, grab your girl, get gone! ------------------------------------------------------------------------------- [3-9] Shotzie! Bandages: 0 Par Time: 12.50 Strategy I will admit I did not use the treadmill on the right at all. I ran forward, jumped up and left, wall-climbed to the top, broke the breakable wall and jumped back and forth to avoid the missiles, grabbed the key, dropped down, and got OUT. ------------------------------------------------------------------------------- [3-10] Breakdown Bandages: 1 Par Time: 10.50 Strategy Ok so the strategy for this one: run like mad towards the breakable floor. Once you've run over it, cling to the wall nearest it and immediately walljump away. This should make you a very difficult target for the missiles to hit. Once you're on the bottom floor, wait until the missile has just fired, then run quite close to the wall on the right, jump and slide up it. That should get you the band-aid when you jump off the wall. Break open the last section to get your sweetie! It's actually quite hard to get the par time for this level. To get it, you'll need to stand just to the side of the missile as it launches, then stand on the breakable floor so you fall through right as it breaks open. I did finally manage to get this at 9.23 ------------------------------------------------------------------------------- [3-11] Box Tripper Bandages: 1 Par Time: 9.00 Strategy This is actually a pretty standard run-n-jump level, with the buzzsaws following you. You might need a couple runs through to get the map down cold, but I didn't see anything that required special attention. The band-aid is easy to miss though. Notice how the spikes don't go all the way down to the bottom of the screen. Duck under them by using a wall-slide, and once they're past you'll see a band-aid coming towards you on an up-high string. Wait 'till it's by a tall tower, then walljump up the tower and grab it! ------------------------------------------------------------------------------- [3-12] The Dumper Bandages: 0 Par Time: 11.60 Strategy Kind of a fun level! This is just a big 'ol grindy thing coming after you, with salt bits on either wall, and a buzzsaw shooter in the middle. From time to time, you'll have to jump across the wall to avoid longer salt areas in the wall. Time your jumps so you jump right after a saw fires. Your girlfriend is on the left eventually, just something to keep in mind. ------------------------------------------------------------------------------- [3-13] The Bend Bandages: 0 Par Time: 15.00 Strategy Not too difficult a level, for me anyway. It's four huge buzzsaws coming after you in a counter-clockwise direction. Use walljumps and wallslides to not fall into the blades of the big guys, and generally let them go ahead before you jump. Just follow their clockwise path to get to your sweet petunia. ------------------------------------------------------------------------------- [3-14] Gurdy Bandages: 0 Par Time: 14.80 Strategy That shaking can be pretty annoying, but don't let it get to you. Jump to the first platform, then up to the second. Big jumps are your friend in this level. After the third platform, it's just down a hole to get your main squeeze. ------------------------------------------------------------------------------- [3-15] Vertigo Bandages: 0 Par Time: 14.80 Strategy If you're good with your vertical jumps, this level is no sweat. The only real trick is the moving vertical platforms, but they moved into place just perfect for me. Your squaw is all the way at the top. ------------------------------------------------------------------------------- [3-16] Mono *Warp Zone* Bandages: Par Time: 14.80 Strategy To get the warp zone, jump to the first platform, and stay there while your transport goes to the right. A portal will open and slowly move up to get you. When that's over with, do a long jump over to the right, break the walls at the top and then the bottom, leave and walljump up the right side of the tower. Jump across to get the key, fall onto the moving platform, and jump to your valentine when you get the chance. ------------------------------------------------------------------------------- [3-17] Rustic Bandages: 0 Par Time: 10.50 Strategy If at all possible you want to stay in the center; there are two hyper-speed missile launchers on the two sides. Walljump up and grab the key right on top of you, then fall back down to get the second key that was under you to begin with. One final ascent takes you to the lady love. Keep in mind that you'll be using the walls a lot, so don't wallslide. ------------------------------------------------------------------------------- [3-18] The Grundle Bandages: 1 Par Time: 17.00 Strategy The par speed strategy for this level is pretty simple- run as fast as you can to the right, jumping or ducking under any buzzsaws, grab the floating key by walljumping up the right wall, run back, and wait for the key wall to get destroyed, then jump through and exit. To get the band-aid, do all that, but before you get band-aid girl, jump up and right, run along the ceiling, and drop down on top of the band-aid. ------------------------------------------------------------------------------- [3-19] Dig Bandages: 0 Par Time: 17.00 Strategy This level is all about avoiding the missiles as you break through the break- able walls. If you look closely, you'll see some blocks where the middle block is eaten through. These are the ones you want to break through. When you are at the bottom level, you want to touch the blocks there, and jump a little so the missile launcher doesn't see you behind the unbreakable block. Once through there, stick to the wall, let it push you up, and then move very slightly to the right so you enter into your girlfriend's treehouse with ease. ------------------------------------------------------------------------------- [3-20] White Noise Bandages: 1 Par Time: 20.00 Strategy A toughie to be sure! Jump to the right and catch the conveyer belt up. Run back and forth to avoid the missile launcher in this chamber, then break the brick in the top right. Leap out, and look for the key under the ground-based launcher. It starts an excruciatingly slow process of breaking the locks by the exit. Before you leave though, grab the key behind your girl and head back up and left to get the band-aid. Once you've done that, or in later play-throughs, just exit. ------------------------------------------------------------------------------- [3-1X] Step One Bandages: 0 Par Time: 23.00 Strategy Ok this can be a tricky level, but stick with me and we'll get through it no sweat. Jump to the bottom of the left wall, then leap off, and fall just to the left of the first buzzsaw. Walljump up to the top of the level, run to the right, and grab the key. Now fall back down to the left, run, and time your jumps so the buzzsaw has just passed overhead when you jump. Do the 'ol jump forward then back trick to take out the first crumbly wall, and use jumps and slides to get past the second. Don't fret if it takes you a couple tries to get the par time, it took me a couple too. ------------------------------------------------------------------------------- [3-2X] Salt + Wound Bandages: 0 Par Time: 16.00 Strategy Nothing in particular that's fancy about this level. You'll want to get good at vertical walljumps. Jump up the left side as much as you can, and if you need to avoid an area of salt that's near the left wall, remember about wall-slides. ------------------------------------------------------------------------------- [3-3X] The Red Room Bandages: 1 Par Time: 16.50 Strategy To get the band-aid, fall off the right side of the platform, break the left- most block, and slide down to grab it. Walljump immediately, and jump back to the platform. Once that's done (and on subsequent playthroughs)... Your best friend is long jumps in this level. Try to clear as much area as you can, and make short tall jumps to get over the buzzsaws. Don't run along the floor too much, because it's all breakable (except for the floor right by the low-hanging buzzsaw). You want to move as fast as you can, because again the par time is tough to make. ------------------------------------------------------------------------------- [3-4X] Assemble Bandages: 0 Par Time: 20.00 Strategy The treadmills make this level tough. It's best to do a couple playthroughs and really learn which way they go, so you can anticipate and avoid the buzzsaws. This is set up just like 3-4, with some of the buzzsaws going a different speed or direction. The only real thing to look out for is when you unplug the center of the level, you want to head all the way to the right, which is where your chica is. ------------------------------------------------------------------------------- [3-5X] Wasp Bandages: 1 Par Time: 28.00 Strategy I hope you remember how to use the treadmills for long vertical jumps, because that's KIND of important in this level. Start out by falling down to the depression on the right, and riding the treadmill up. Go slightly right to avoid the bottom saw, then into the little room. Jump up and to the left. You want to start going up at the fourth arrow from the bottom. This should carry you between the saws to the platform above. You can jump off to the left and carefully get the band-aid, or if you've already got it, jump to the next level for the key. Then fall down to the left, slide into the chamber there, and get the next key. To finish the level, fall to the right, slide up the whole length of the treadmill, and get B-A-G. ------------------------------------------------------------------------------- [3-6X] Not You Again Bandages: 1 Par Time: 20.00 Strategy This level sees you going up and down like a kid on a trampoline. It requires some timing and coordination, but nothing you can't handle. Hit the treadmills, pressing the directional button away from the wall you're on as soon as you hit the treadmill. It should propel you safely to the top treadmill. You'll want to walljump off this to grab the first key. Fall back down, moving slightly right and left to avoid the salt. Grab the key on the bottom right, then repeat the procedure to jump back up. Note the band-aid high above the tower. You'll have to walljump off the top- left lip to get it. The final key is here, so simply drop back down to complete the level. Your girl is to the left. ------------------------------------------------------------------------------- [3-7X] Pluck Bandages: 1 Par Time: 15.50 Strategy This level IS beatable with regular meat boy, but I'd recommend using a different character, one with float or double-jump. Head to the right and grab the key from the right of the platform, then be ready 'cause a key is dropping down in the gap to your right. To get it with meat boy, fall onto the platform to the right, and time your jump so that you are at the top of your arc when the key drops. Move quickly back left and catch the bottom of the treadmill, and ride it up and to the right. If you start from the fourth arrow down, you can ride between the buzzsaws and catch the band-aid here. To the right, there is a repeat from earlier. Grab the key, then leap out as the second key falls. You can see where it falls from this time, which is nice. Catch the conveyer belt up and get to band-aid girl! *****CONTRIBUTED GUIDE***** just thought I'd add some additional insight into the Dark Salt World level "Pluck" (3-7X). I too had some serious trouble beating it with Meat Boy, but knew there had to be a better solution than resorting to a double jump character. Rather than grabbing the first key on the platform and then jumping out to get the next key as it falls, it's even easier to jump OVER the first key and go straight to the treadmill. If you hit the treadmill on the sweet spot, you will grab the platform key as you're projected upwards, and the second key will fall right as you're passing by it at the apex of your jump to the middle platform. It sounds complicated, but it's even easier than using a double jump character to try and grab the key as it's falling. -Jux An easier method for world 3-7X [Pluck] using Meatboy: After getting extremely frustrated at trying to catch the key, I found a nifty little trick that may make it easier for some. Basically, instead of running right and grabbing the key right away, jump OVER the key, and hold left to get on the treadmill. If you land on it around the second or third arrow from the bottom you will launch up, grab the key, and as you move towards the center platform the second key will drop onto you. On the way over the saw blades keep falling past the 3rd key, and land on the treadmill around the fifth or sixth arrow from the bottom, and ride it up. You'll get the third key, and as you're jumping over to the platform with Bandage Girl the last key will fall on you. I was able to get the par time on this level using that method. You can use it if you want, I just figured I'd share the tip since you've taken the time to write up a FAQ for the rest of us. -Patch ************************** ------------------------------------------------------------------------------- [3-8X] Salt Crown *Warp Zone* Bandages: 0 Par Time: Strategy The warp zone here is accessible with regular meat boy, but only if you BOOK IT. Dash to the right, wallclimb up, slide down the next right wall, jump over the missile, and enter into the newly broken wall. Get out the passage to the right, up onto the roof, and slide down the left wall to get the key. Hide against the right wall down there so the missile can't see you, then walljump back up. Once you're in the tunnel, jump right before the missile fires while running to the left. The missile will miss and you'll hit the wall of the next chamber on the left. Jump this this wall, and slide down the unplugged chamber to get the warp zone! Whew! When you've got that, just walljump up the wall where the key was, hop over the incoming missile, drop down the left side, and bob's your uncle! ------------------------------------------------------------------------------- [3-9X] Goliath Bandages: 0 Par Time: 21.00 Strategy Again, I didn't use the treadmills on the right. I just walljumped up the left side while avoiding missiles, and did walljumps and slides to clear the breakable wall. Line up the jump carefully over the pit, and mind the rocket on the roof. Once you've got the key you can just fall to the left off of the top corridor and fall to the right, where your baby momma is. ------------------------------------------------------------------------------- [3-10X] Exploder Bandages: 0 Par Time: 18.00 Strategy This one should look familiar- and in fact it is just like 3-10. The missiles fire slowly enough that they should only get off one shot per level. The only real trick here is avoiding them as you jump back up. For that, jump to the outside wall, and as soon as the missile fires walljump. You should hit the grating on the opposite side, and slide up to the next level. Your top girl is on the top floor. ------------------------------------------------------------------------------- [3-11X] The Salt Man Bandages: 0 Par Time: 24.00 Strategy RUN! Oh run to the right! Some tips: You can jump over the first island with the huge salt pile entirely, and land in the narrow corridor. When you get to the call corridor with the salt, remember to hold your wallslide for as long as you can slide, that should help you get past that. At the top there, grab the key and drop down through the now unlocked door when the buzzsaws are to your right. Now it's a dash to the left! This should be pretty much the same. You'll have to jump to the wall to the right and walljump over the huge pile of salt from the beginning. ------------------------------------------------------------------------------- [3-12X] Hellevator Bandages: 0 Par Time: 11.60 Strategy I'm gonna be honest. I hated this level, and I think you will too. Spikes following you up the wall, salt on the walls, a missile launcher in the middle, and to top it all off, a very limited time to grab the key that opens the gate up top. Step by step, this is what I did. Start by jumping to the left, walljump twice and slide down so that the missile misses you. From here, walljump to the right and keep jumping up, going under the buzzsaw on the right that sticks out. After that buzzsaw, you'll see the key slightly above you head. Quickly walljump to the left, up all the way to your girl. Expect to die a LOT here. ------------------------------------------------------------------------------- [3-13X] Black Circle Bandages: 0 Par Time: 40.00 Strategy An annoying level, but NOTHING after the previous one. This is all about timing. You have to keep right behind the buzzsaw in front of you for the first part. Use wallslides to slow yourself down, and sort of stick close to the buzzsaw behind you, giving the buzzsaw in front of you some room. Once you get to the roof, fall off to the right and onto the platform below. Get right next to the raised platform in the middle, and as SOON as a saw passes over it jump up and book it to the left. Let another saw pass overhead, then start jumping up the lefthand side of the wall, getting at least to your invulnerable lady. ------------------------------------------------------------------------------- [3-14X] Salmon Bandages: 1 Par Time: Strategy Start out by getting on the horizontal moving platform. Wait until the vertical one in front of you has gone down into the saw and back up before jumping to it, then jump from the single block to the bottom-right. From there you should be able to see the platform with the key. Jump and grab it, back to the single block, and jump up and to the right along the platforms. Once you get in the building, Place your dropdown RIGHT between the two saws. You CAN get the band-aid down here with meat boy by timing a walljump off the right side of the moving platform just right, but I don't know why you wouldn't just get it with Ogmo. Go right to victory! ------------------------------------------------------------------------------- [3-15X] Vertebreaker Bandages: 0 Par Time: 27.00 Strategy I don't know what this level thinks you need all that time for- I did this in 13.00. The trick is to stay on the outside of the building, whether that be the mobile spike launchers or just the regular walls. Time your jumps to stay with the spike launchers, but that's about the only mystery. Your madmoiselle is on the top-right. ------------------------------------------------------------------------------- [3-16X] The Chaser Bandages: 1 Par Time: 24.00 Strategy Called the chaser I guess because you chase after the whirling spikes. Jump to the right onto the moving platform as soon as it's safe, vault over the spikes, and break the walls through sliding. When the moving tunnel goes under this area, climb on it, ride it to the key, and on the way back quickly wall jump up the right side, grab the band-aid, and hop down. Ride the platform back, jump over the final buzzsaw, and you should make it home in time for the par! ------------------------------------------------------------------------------- [3-17X] Ashes Bandages: 0 Par Time: 11.50 Strategy This level shouldn't be bad at all as long as you stay in the middle and wall- climb up. Staying in the middle really limits the amount of time the missile launchers can see you, and you can walljump high enough to move from platform to platform. Walljump up, grab the key, fall down, grab the key, jump up to your mate. ------------------------------------------------------------------------------- [3-18X] Bile Duct Bandages: 0 Par Time: Strategy This level is all about rhythm. The buzzsaws are going to be coming from the same place every time, so doing the level over a few times should let you really get the jumping down. There is a key in the top left, and it's retracting, so you're gonna want to book it over there as fast as you can. At the same time, you want to jump a lot, because the bottom floor is destructible, and you want to save it for the trip back. Once you get back to the left wall, walljump on it and avoid the buzzsaws until the wall disappears, then go grab your long-lost love. ------------------------------------------------------------------------------- [3-19X] El Topo Bandages: 1 Par Time: 17.00 Strategy Alright this level was ANNOYING to me. I think you might find it somewhat the same. There are rocket launchers that launch pretty frequently firing at each of three levels. Once you get to the bottom, there is a spikepit. We'll do two runs; the first for the band-aid, the second for the time. For the first run, cave in the left side of the top level, then the right side of the middle level. This keeps only one rocket firing at you at a time. Move to the bottom level, trying to keep one block between the rocket launcher and you on the floor, slide up the shaft doing walljumps whenever there is a spike, and reach the ceiling. The real reason for having the blocks set up like that becomes apparent; the key opens up a little nook waaaay back inside where you started from. Go back, timing your jumps carefully and not exposing or breaking too much of what you set up before. On the top level where you started, there is a single solid beam in the background that goes from right to left. Get even with it on the right wall, walljump left, and jump up. Get the band-aid, and get out! The par time run is much the same, only you can do more or less down the middle of the breakable floors, as you don't care about coming back up. ------------------------------------------------------------------------------- [3-20X] Sweet Pea Bandages: 0 Par Time: 25.50 Strategy Jump up to the left, catch the treadmill, and have it launch you between the saw and the salt into the room. This next bit is a series of running through corridors while being fired on. Just jump away when you see the missile coming. The last hard bit is when you drop down and to the left. This missile launcher fires pretty quickly, so you'll want to be nimble. Grab the key from the center island, while the floor veeery slowly disappears, and hop over the incoming missiles. Your lady is just to the right there ------------------------------------------------------------------------------- [3-Boss] Brownie **ZOMG BOSS FIGHT** Strategy This is a frantic race! Follow that brownie guy, as he knows the way out. He'll probably be moving faster than you, but that's ok. I didn't really get hung up at any particular place in this level. You ALWAYS want to be dashing, and jumping over as many obstacles as you can. Before long, you'll get to the top, so good luck! =============================================================================== [CH 4] Hell Alright! Time for a DUEL! You come out swinging aaaand.... you lose. Ouch. Well, time to claw our way out of the firey pits, eh? Let's have at it! ------------------------------------------------------------------------------- [4-1] Boilermaker Bandages: 0 Par Time: 11.00 Strategy Well this is kind of a mean welcome to hell! Lava! Spikes! You'd think we were in... well, I guess we are in a torture realm. So start out by falling to the right, the goal is to jump over the lava pits, walljump, dash under the buzzsaw, and wall slide-n-jump before the vertical buzzsaw gets down. From there it's a pretty simple leap over the pit, and a slide down. ------------------------------------------------------------------------------- [4-2] Brindle Bandages: 1 Par Time: 23.00 Strategy A "keep with the floating platform" level. This level will go easy for you if you actually go much faster than the platform. Leap ahead until you get to the platform with the big ceiling. Ride the platform under that, walljump up the left wall, grab the band-aid, slide down and walljump to the next platform to the right. Fall off onto the floating platform on the right at the nearest opportunity, and grab B-A-G. ------------------------------------------------------------------------------- [4-3] Heck Hole Bandages: 0 Par Time: 11.50 Strategy This is a "keep ahead of the lava" level, and BOY does it come up fast. Practice your walljumping to finish this. When you come to the floating island in the middle of the level, I found it easier to go up the left side. Other than that, use a lot of wallslides and walljumps, and you should clear the level without much difficulty. ------------------------------------------------------------------------------- [4-4] Hex Bandages: 0 Par Time: 8.50 Strategy The first gate will creeeeak open, and rush out and walljump to the right wall. Slide up it, and the ball of lava should pass you by. Jump up to the top, and slide down the right wall. When you're at the bottom, jump over. Wait until the platform is next to you to step on it. Walljump up the left side of the buzzpit, jump over, and fall down onto the moving platform to walk right home to your honey. ------------------------------------------------------------------------------- [4-5] Pyro Bandages: 1 Par Time: 12.00 Strategy This is another level that teaches you about the lava balls, this time that they can jump from side to side. Jump through the two buzzsaws when the platform is at its lowest. When you drop down the pit, there will be a lava ball that is jumping from left to right. Avoid it, walljump up the right side, and there is your prize! ------------------------------------------------------------------------------- [4-6] Leviathan Bandages: 1 Par Time: 8.00 Strategy Jump to the left and climb to the top of the wall there before you get hit by the lavaball. From here you can jump to the right and land on the top-right island. You can jump right thorugh the top island when the pounder is down. If you want the band-aid, drop in the hole on the jutting out part as soon as the buzzsaw starts moving to the left, and drop down and get it. Otherwise, slide down the very righthand wall to the platform beneath, and jump over to your lady. ------------------------------------------------------------------------------- [4-7] Rickets Bandages: 0 Par Time: 17.00 Strategy This is one of those levels where the par time is probably a lot more than you need. Dash to the right, and go to the very right side of the buzzsaw as it is raised. As soon as you can scurry under the next saw when it goes up, dash there so you don't get sawed. For the next part, don't forget how to use the long wallslides. The last part is a repeat of the first, then it's success. ------------------------------------------------------------------------------- [4-8] Weibe *Warp Zone* Bandages: 0 Par Time: 16.00 Strategy You can make the warp zone here, but you have to move QUICKLY. Bolt up the first area, jump over the falling lava balls while running full tilt, and time your walljumps so that you just scrape the roof over them as they fall. On the third level, right before you start to run to the left, there are crumbly ceilings on the roof. Jump up a couple times to break them, and the portal is right above those. You should just get there as it starts to vanish. Otherwise, just head to the left, jumping over lava balls, and you should make it to your main squeeze with no sweat to make par time. ------------------------------------------------------------------------------- [4-9] Deceiver Bandages: 1 Par Time: 6.00 Strategy Introducing the portal! It's a pretty simple idea. You jump in the one side, and come out the other in the same direction going the same speed. To get the band-aid, jump above the bottom portal, heading to the left a bit. This should net you the BA, so head to the right as soon as you can. To get to the top of the level, dash to the right and enter the bottom portal in a jump. This will get you to the top. You want to dash as fast as you can to the right, then turn and run left and jump into the top portal. This should get you into the bottom platform. Hit it, run and jump left, and get you finished. ------------------------------------------------------------------------------- [4-10] Ball N Chain Bandages: 0 Par Time: 15.00 Strategy Remember the thing about the portals- you go out the way you came in. Walljump up the right wall, through the left portal into the right. Jump up and left through the left portal, grab the key, then fall down into the portal. Jump on top of the left portal to fall down, catch the platform, and ride it right. You know about jumping over lavaballs, so do that until you get to the right of the tunnel, and jump down and right into the lower portal, and you should pop out on top of your gal. ------------------------------------------------------------------------------- [4-11] Oracle Bandages: 0 Par Time: 12.50 Strategy Not much to this level. The upper right portal goes to the lower right, and the upper left to the lower left. Get a running start and jump up and right through the first portal, which should carry you to the lower right one. Repeat this in the right portal to get the key. Then just jump through the portals, going left each time. You should make it to your ballerina with no sweat. ------------------------------------------------------------------------------- [4-12] Big Brother Bandages: 0 Par Time: 10.80 Strategy These eye-beam guys are a pain, but with a little luck this level won't be any trouble. You want to jump up the left wall in two jumps, then jump into the middle. This should cut off one of the eye beams. Keep moving clockwise down and around to get the key. Just repeat the process going counter-clockwise, (and this time stopping in the middle of the path between the wall), and you'll get back to her. ------------------------------------------------------------------------------- [4-13] Lazy Bandages: 1 Par Time: 11.50 Strategy This one is kind of tricky. You want to jump lightly on the left side, (jump quickly), to keep most of it intact. Take out the top and bottom of the area where the band-aid is, and walljump right to get the key from the top of the level. Move back up the right side of the level, jumping left, into the hole in the top of the band-aid area, grabbing the band-aid, and leaving down the bottom hole. Grab the key from the bottom of the level, head back up to the left, and exit! When going for par time, just run the two clockwise tracks around the level at top speed, remember to hop lightly to keep the floor intact. ------------------------------------------------------------------------------- [4-14] Adversary *Warp Zone* Bandages: 0 Par Time: 17.50 Strategy This is another one where you really have to rush to get there. There are eyebeams, so you'll want to wait for it to get cut off by the block you are hiding behind, then drop down and move forward (or jump and move forward) to the next block. Right before the band-aid girl, there is a block on the ceiling that is broken. You'll want to jump up there. Run to the left, and there is a warp zone there. If you aren't getting the warp, just dash ahead and get your prize. ------------------------------------------------------------------------------- [4-15] Abaddon Bandages: 0 Par Time: 9.00 Strategy Meet the great granddaddy of the rocket launcher. The tooth launcher! Every time one of these monsters hits a wall, it breaks into a bunch of little teeth, that go in a circle to try to consume you. The key is in the top-right part of the level, so go there. Try to make sure the toothrocket hits the left side of the little hill protecting you back there or you're toast. ------------------------------------------------------------------------------- [4-16] Bow Bandages: 1 Par Time: 12.00 Strategy This level can be really annoying until you learn the tricks. Trick to get past the eye beams. Run to the right, jump up touching the crumbly wall and walljump to the left wall where the beams can't get you. Delicately jump off and fall between the gap into the right section. Wait until the left beam disappears, then run to the right ahead of the right beam. Jump before you get to the wall so the left beam doesn't get you later, then you're out. If you want the band-aid, crash through the breakable wall while avoiding the mouth-launcher, run to the left, and jump to the top-left. There is a key up there, and it opens a block RIGHT above where you started out. That means (gulp) heading back down where you came from. Escape the eyes in the same way as you did the first time down, grab the band-aid, and book it out. ------------------------------------------------------------------------------- [4-17] Lost Highway Bandages: 1 Par Time: 12.00 Strategy To get the band-aid here, fall off the left side of the level, and walljump up to the top section. The band-aid is up here. Slide down and right and back onto the floor. You CAN do this with meat boy, but I'd suggest using Ogmo or another double jumper. As for the rest of the level, and the par time: dash under the portal, wait for a lavaball to come through it, and jump straight up into it. Run to the left, hop the saws, and slide down the left wall. Wait until a lavaball shoots through it, then jump up through it. Run to the right, jumping any lavaballs, and get your lady. ------------------------------------------------------------------------------- [4-18] Boris *Warp Zone* Bandages: 0 Par Time: 24.50 Strategy This warp zone is pretty easy to get to. Ride on the moving platform until you the first black mouth shoots at you. At that point, jump across the gap and land on the floor to the right of the shooter. You should fall into a hole there, and move right to get to the portal. If you're done with that, ride the cart down, switching between being on the cart and walljumping to avoid the black mouths. The last part of this level is you walljumping over the buzzsaws, and that is just a timing issue. As in, make sure the platform is there when you finish your fall. ------------------------------------------------------------------------------- [4-19] The Hive Bandages: 0 Par Time: 14.00 Strategy An annoying level, but not too tricky. Run to the right over the breakable walls and walljump off the edge here. That will let the big mouth miss you. Now the platform will start slooowly moving down. The trick here is if you stand on one side of the platform and run to the other when the mouth is coming for you, it will go through the platform, hit a wall harmlessly, and you can just ride the platform down to the end, get out, and get the shorty. ------------------------------------------------------------------------------- [4-20] Babylon Bandages: 1 Par Time: 22.00 Strategy This is just a little sampler of all The Worst Things. Section 1: Get on the platform, then walljump over the spides as the platform rolls underneath. Jump in the portal to end. Section 2: Just a bunch of jumping lavaballs. Walljump up far enough that they are under you, then leap over. Section 3: Lava rising and falling. Wait until it's almost at bottom before you try to cross this section. Section 4: Eye. Run out and jump to the right, then go counter-clockwise around the room, getting the key, and escape. Section 5: Shooter. Do the trick of drawing its fire, then jumping away right as the missile explodes. Jump to the top of the chamber, walljump across to get the band-aid, and break the floor for your donna. ------------------------------------------------------------------------------- [4-1X] Gretel Bandages: Par Time: 19.00 Strategy A heck of an introduction to the dark world in hell! Walljump up the right wall, then do a looong jump to that island. Try to drop between the leftmost two buzzsaws, down to the plane there. Hop the spinning buzzsaw, and catch the exending platform out. Hop lightly onto the platform below, then dash to the left, and jump right at the end. You'll make it onto the next island, and it's just a dodge the buzzsaw game from there. ------------------------------------------------------------------------------- [4-2X] Golgotha Bandages: 0 Par Time: 16.50 Strategy A fast-paced level! Start by jumping to the moving platform. Jump to the lefthand wall of the first ting you pass and over the buzzsaw onto the lower platform. Jump from platform to platform, up onto the left wall again, and through the saws into the passage. Wait for the moving platform to pass by before dropping down. From there, jump up to the lefthand wall and over the buzzsaw onto the lip of the metal lava holder. Jump onto the platform, and ride it to where it goes down and you can jump onto the wall there. Jump quickly between the buzzsaws and up to B-A-G. ------------------------------------------------------------------------------- [4-3X] Char Bandages: 1 Par Time: 12.00 Strategy This is that jumping level from before, only silhouetted. Make two walljumps against the left wall, then jump to the right. I still found it easier to take the left path on the forked path. Jump right underneath the buzzsaw, and walljump while pressing right. Continue up, sliding down the wall at the end to get the band-aid. Continue, jumping up right before the lava on the lefthand wall through the buzzsaws to your black beauty. ------------------------------------------------------------------------------- [4-4X] Altered Bandages: 1 Par Time: 17.50 Strategy This first section is easier if you remember that you can lightly hop over the saws. Once on top just fall to the right, and lean to the left. You'll fall in the crevice. It's delicate jumping work getting the band-aid here, but get a little below it and walljump to the right, turning back as soon as you get it. From here, it's a simple jump down, hit the platform, vault the buzzsaws, and get out! ------------------------------------------------------------------------------- [4-5X] Wicked One Bandages: 0 Par Time: 14.00 Strategy The only real tough part in this level is the very first part. You'll want to wait for a second, then leap to your right, walljumping off of a falling wall. Jump onto the stable platform, and wait for the wall to come down again. Walljump off of it between the buzzsaws. From here, just dodge the lavaballs which move in predictable patterns and get your bonita at the end of the stage. ------------------------------------------------------------------------------- [4-6X] The Gnashing Bandages: 0 Par Time: 19.00 Strategy The real way to do this level is to do it with a double or triple jumper. To do that, just jump along the outsides, and get to B-A-G on the lower right. Easy! If you are determined to do it with lonely meat boy, you'll have to time it just perfect. There are holes in the structure, and you have to be exactly between the two buzzsaw areas when they come around. Go into the lower-right one when the buzzsaws are to the left, then alternate every time. ------------------------------------------------------------------------------- [4-7X] Thistle *Warp Zone* Bandages: 0 Par Time: 18.00 Strategy I don't THINK you can get this warp zone with meat boy. Instead, be captain Video. Jump off the level to the right, down below the platform, and float to the first gap between saws. There the warp is, so fall down and hit it. This will probably take a couple tries. Otherwise this is entirely a timing level. Run between the buzzsaws, sticking close to the right-hand side of the one you're under. Once you're to the vertical part, just remember to lightly tap jump to get around the saws. Try to jump up when the big buzzsaw is on the left, and slide down the other end of the shaft. Repeat the dashing from the beginning, and you're through! ------------------------------------------------------------------------------- [4-8X] Billy Boy Bandages: 1 Par Time: 19.00 Strategy This is kind of a tricky jumping level. Head up quickly and run to the right. Stand even with the third red column on the lower level and jump up when the buzzsaws are away. Run left to get the band-aid, then head back right. From here, it's a game of jumping at the right time to avoid the lavaballs. Jump over the one on the next level up when it's just about come off of the bottom level. Jump over the two balls when they're almost together before they hit the buzzsaw, then jump out into the open before two more can cream you. Leap over them as you head to the left, then jump back up right to get the girl. ------------------------------------------------------------------------------- [4-9X] Glut Bandages: 0 Par Time: 10.50 Strategy Jump through the bottom level of the buzzsaws, walljump off the top of the post there, through the top level of the buzzsaws, and hit the portal. From there, over the buzzsaw, avoiding the one that comes down in a triangle, and walljump (DON'T touch the floor) at the bottom level. You want to hit the bottom right portal goign straight down or a little right, going left will kill you. Grab princess peach and get. ------------------------------------------------------------------------------- [4-10X] Gallow Bandages: 1 Par Time: 17.00 Strategy I'm not sure that you can get the band-aid here using meat boy. To get the par time, jump to the left wall then hop up to the right, into the portal. Drop down out of the portal, then jump up into it. Climb up, get the key, and drop down into the poral. Circle around the saw and drop down into the portal to get on the moving platform. From there, walljump up and time your jumps so you avoid the lavaballs. Jump acros the gap to get to the girl. To get the band-aid, have a double jumped jump down and jump again right as he gets the band-aid, you'll see it before the final jump that takes you to B-A-G ------------------------------------------------------------------------------- [4-11X] Surrender Bandages: 0 Par Time: 16.50 Strategy A tricky series of jumps, but trivial once you learn to do it. Dash-jump through the right portal, which should spit you onto the right wall with a buzz-saw on the left. Walljump down to the bottom of the left wall, then walljump all the way to the right, under the buzzsaw over there. Jump while pressing the directional button towards the right, to get you over the saw, and grab the key. Simply repeat the process to get your girl on the left. ------------------------------------------------------------------------------- [4-12X] Beholder Bandages: 0 Par Time: 18.50 Strategy An incredibly annoying level (at least for me), there is at least a set path that will take you through this level in one piece. Run to the left, wallclimb up until the eye's beam hits the block. Then drop down (you should be on the other side of the beam), and wallclimb on the right wall. Jump over the eye and get the key, and the door will open. Run up into the middle of the pillar quickly before the beam gets you. Now jump off between the beam and the lava, and go right to get the key. Getting back to B-A-G requires exactly the same techique, inverted, as you just used. Good luck! ------------------------------------------------------------------------------- [4-13X] Oblivion Bandages: 0 Par Time: 23.00 Strategy This was another super-annoying level for me. The key to getting par time is to keep the breakable floor between the middle two unbreakable blocks on the ground intact. You'll want to make three clockwise passes through the level. The first one try to jump as far to the left as you can to keep the floor intact. Jump up the left wall, trying to land on the unbreakable blocks on the wall. Jump to the right, get the key, and slide down the right. You'll get a second key along the wall, and that will unlock the centermost key. It will fall, and bounce once. It will break the breakable block it falls on, so after it bounces you'll want to jump and grab it in mid-flight. Jump up and over again. Getting the middle key unlocked the right key. This is where the trick to getting par comes in. Edge out slowly (the beam should keep almost hitting you), and grab the right key. Keep edging to the left, so the beam is following you closely, and you should be able to grab the left key as it falls. Quickly jump up and out, and you should just make the time limit. ------------------------------------------------------------------------------- [4-14X] Old Scratch Bandages: 1 Par Time: 20.00 Strategy The opposite of the previous time you did this level, this is just a keep-away from the eyes. Run to the left, walljump on the right wall, jump level with the eye, then jump over it. Duck under the barriers, then quickly jump up and right so that the beam is broken, moving right the whole time. Jump to the top-right corner and quickly slide down to avoid both beams. Keep alternating sides all the way down. To get the band-aid, jump between the eye and the right buzzsaw, and move clockwise around the eye, grabbing the band-aid when you're at the top-left. Once you've got it, repeat the trick for getting away from the eye backwards on the bottom, jumping to your honey at the end. ------------------------------------------------------------------------------- [4-15X] Bone Yard Bandages: 0 Par Time: 11.00 Strategy This level is all about dodging ability. There are two keys, hanging to the right and left of the central pillar, and you have to walljump from the opposite walls to get them. The whole time the mouth-rockets will be firing at you. The real key to getting away from them is to keep moving a lot. Always be jumping, and trying to move at 90 degree angles from the rockets. If at all possible you want to be a long distance from them when they explode so you can dodge their scatter shots. The par time isn't too hard to get on this level provided you keep moving. ------------------------------------------------------------------------------- [4-16X] Starless Bandages: 0 Par Time: 11.50 Strategy The key to this level is to keep moving. Jump up and to the right, and you'll be getting fired on a LOT by the mouth rockets. Also make sure to jump well over the spike pits. Get to the right, break the breakable walls, wallslide and jump to avoid the missile, and slide down. The bottom part is a keep-away from the eyes. Run left, slide up the wall to break the breakable parts, jump to the right, and then back through the hole. Stick to the right side of the wall until the right eyebeam is cut off, then run left, jump up, and to the lady. ------------------------------------------------------------------------------- [4-17X] Invocation Bandages: 0 Par Time: 18.00 Strategy A dodging level! Jump up the rightmost shaft, and wait for a lavaball to come until you jump over it. Jump straight up (walljump) into the portal, and jump over a lavaball as it rolls out of the top tunnel. Hop over the center saw as a ball travels under it. The rest of the level is just dodging the balls and some long walljumps at the leftmost side to get to the lady. ------------------------------------------------------------------------------- [4-18X] Sag Chamber Bandages: 1 Par Time: 29.00 Strategy Man if you thought OTHER levels backwards were difficult and lame, wait until you see this one! Walljump the first area in a HURRY to grab the band-aid on the right-top wall, then jump over onto the platform. Try not to slide down the wall, just fall down. Then repeat the process on the next buzzsaw platform. After this you'll be walljumping and waiting for the platform to rise up. While you're doing this, the mouth rockets will be firing at you. Try to waljump out pretty far so they go far away from you. When the platform starts moving out and up again, jump on it. There'll be one more buzzsaw platform to jump before you can get to your sweet cakes. ------------------------------------------------------------------------------- [4-19X] Long Goodbye Bandages: 1 Par Time: 14.00 Strategy You've basically played this level before. The think that they're upping the challenge by having there only be breakable walls on the top level, but since you know the secret trick of standing on the lowering platform and moving right and left so that the mouth passes you by and hits the lower level, it's the same difficulty. Before you leave the level, break open the bottom-left breakable wall for a band-aid! ------------------------------------------------------------------------------- [4-20X] Imperial Bandages: 0 Par Time: 31.00 Strategy This is the same level as 4-20, but with a few added challenges. It's a tough level, so be prepared to do it over a few times! Area 1: The jump-over like before, but this time with more buzzsaws to cut you up. The trick is jumping JUST over the buzzsaw in the middle, and not flying right into the buzzsaw there. Area 2: Jump when the middle lavaball is beginning its descent, and you can jump between the middle and right lavaballs, and make it clear. Area 3: Again, make sure the lava is going down when you attempt to jump through, and it's the same except you don't have the luxury of a place to rest. Area 4: Run to the right, jump up and have the ey beam broken by the block there. Then drop down, and do a clockwise circle around the eye, grabbing the key from above it. Area 5: Break the floors just like before, drop down and get the girl of your dreams! ------------------------------------------------------------------------------- [4-Boss] Little Horn **BOSS FIGHT OMG** Strategy This guy is pretty tough, but does follow a predictable strategy. Memorize it and you'll be fine. 1: Smashes his hand to the left, so stand on the right 2: Swipes his hand right. Jump when he smiles 3: Smashes his hand to the right, stand to the left 4: Swipes his hand right, jump when he smiles 5: Slams his head into the level, so stand on either side 6: Slams his hands on the outside of the level, so stand near the center (but on one of the raised parts) 7: Slams his hands on the inside of the raised parts, so stand towards the outside of either level 8: Smashes his hand to the left, then swipes it right 9: Smashes his head into the center 10: Smashes the outside then inside 11: Smashes the outside then inside 12: Smashes his head into the center After that's over with, Dr. Fetus... uh.... blows up hell. Man! That guy is SO angry! =============================================================================== [CH 5] The Rapture So after Dr. Fetus blew up the uh... the world... and also hell? It's time to take him out! In post-apocalyptic cityscapes! Woo! =============================================================================== [5-1] The Witness *Warp Zone* Bandages: 0 Par Time: 22.00 Strategy The portal is pretty easy to see here, but you'll have to dash to get it. Drop down off the right side and fall slightly right to go between the buzzsaws. The next section is a regular "jump over buzzsaws" kind of deal, so just keep runnign. There will be times where there are two saws, a fast one and a slow one- if you have to jump there, try to be below the slow one. On the column that has a fast and a slow buzzsaw on either side, jump right on top of the slow one, then walljump up. Just jump up, walljumping off the edge of the floor the portal is on, to get to it. Otherwise head to your right, snaking down the final series of levels. On the bottom level to the right, you can get over the buzzsaw if you jump and hit the ceiling right before the buzzsaw hits you. ------------------------------------------------------------------------------- [5-2] Evangel Bandages: 0 Par Time: 13.00 Strategy Introducing the beacon! These glowing balls push you away from them, allowing you to make longer jumps if you jump on top of them. Start out jumping over this one, then slide down and jump right, using the beacon to push you between the saws. Jump over to the right wall with the beacon, walljump up, and finish. ------------------------------------------------------------------------------- [5-3] Ripe Decay Bandages: 1 Par Time: 18.00 Strategy Meet the dark side of the beacons- they can push you up, but they can push you down, too. To get past the first wave of saws, make sure that you are jumping NOT totally under the beacons, or they'll just push you down. Use the first beacon to get through the buzzsaws and land on the central platform. Jump up and use the second beacon to propell you above the saw on the wall. Slide down to get the band-aid. Make sure as you dash through the next corridor that you can jump up and hit the ceiling without the buzzsaw being overhead. Finally, you'll walljump to right below the final buzzsaw, hop to the other wall, and up to the last girl in the world. ------------------------------------------------------------------------------- [5-4] Rise Bandages: 0 Par Time: 13.50 Strategy The strategy to this level is jumping right above the beacon and sticking to the wall, and letting the beacon push you up the wall past the buzzsaws. When you get out of the building, wait until you are moving up away from the beacon to jump left and catch the second one, as it has to push you past the buzzsaw to the left and you don't want to have downward momentum. Just jump up and grab your empress to finish things. ------------------------------------------------------------------------------- [5-5] Panic Switch Bandages: 1 Par Time: 12.50 Strategy This level introduces the ground-breaking, jaw-dropping concept of... THE SWITCH. On retrospect, I think we might have seen these once before in hell, but I probably thought it was a key. Oh well, it does exactly the same thing as a key. See that gray thing? Mash it and you get a series of walls opened. So jump to the top level. If you want the band-aid, DON'T hit the top button, instead run all the way to the right, get on the overhand there, and do a dashing jump as far left as you can go from the leftmost part on the overhang. You should just get the band-aid. To finish the level, hit the switch, and race the disappearing blocks to the right. Walljump from the left side of the little nook in there to get in the last tower. Hit the switch, and fall down and to the right to get your chica en su hacienda. ------------------------------------------------------------------------------- [5-6] Left Behind Bandages: 0 Par Time: 11.00 Strategy Kind of a short level here. Jump up to hit the switch, and through the new opening. Slide down the wall to hit the switch and walljump over to the overhang, jumping through THAT opening. The switch there opens the way to your lady. The trick to getting past the final buzzsaws is to get a good dashing start and just lightly tapping jump. ------------------------------------------------------------------------------- [5-7] The Fallen *Warp Zone* Bandages: 0 Par Time: 23.00 Strategy The way to get the portal is much the same as the way to finish the level. Jump right, and press the switch on the wall. Ideally, you will catch the key as it falls (and in fact you must do this to get the portal). Jump through the opening on the top right and into the next section. If you want the portal, note that there is an opening here in the very top right. Quickly jump to it, and fall down into the portal. You should just make it. If you don't care about the portal, hit the switch on the right wall, and another key will fall from the top. Try to jump out and hold position about in the middle of the area to get it. Jump out of the building, and fall down. You'll have to jump up a buzzsaw path to get back into the left building, but once you do it's just a short jump onto Mrs. Meat Boy. ------------------------------------------------------------------------------- [5-8] Descent Bandages: 0 Par Time: 20.00 Strategy This is a buzzsaw level, and it helps to be in position before you have to be. Here is how I did it: Between the left and right buzzsaw -> all the way to the left -> between the left two buzzsaws -> SLIGHTLY to the right -> stand just to the right of the leftmost buzzsaw for the next two -> stand in the center and hop if the saws are coming for the next two -> you CAN squeeze between the left two vertical saws. After this section, it's just a regular hop between saws that'll take you to B-A-G. ------------------------------------------------------------------------------- [5-9] Abomination Bandages: 1 Par Time: 19.50 Strategy Introducing the doppleganger! He looks about like you, only somewhat lumpier, and also he lives only to destroy you both in an explosion of meat and blood. So there's that, too. The band-aid is pretty well hidden in this level, so you'll have to be creative to get it. Look at the first skyscraper to the right. See those buzzsaws in the windows? You can jump in a hole in the wall there to get it. Jump through, slide down the other side, and continue on. The trick to dealing with the dopplegangers is to let them charge you, and jump a second before they do, flying over them. Don't run at them, let them run at you. You'll probably want to do two runs, one where you get the band-aid and a speed run where you ignore the upper level and just run down below. ------------------------------------------------------------------------------- [5-10] Grinding Mill Bandages: 0 Par Time: 15.50 Strategy This level is called the grinding mill because of what you do to your enemies! In the center, a key will be slowly falling, and while it falls, dopplegangers will be swarming down to attack you. Every time they do, you'll want them to chase you, then run over, slide up the wall behind the buzzsaw, and walljump away. They aren't as nimble, and should get splatted. Grab the key, jump between the saws, and get out! ------------------------------------------------------------------------------- [5-11] Heretic Bandages: 0 Par Time: 18.50 Strategy The way to get the par time on this level is to dash towards the buzzsaws in the tunnel, and just lightly hop when you are almost to the leftmost one of each pair. Jump more heavily over the central doppleganger, and he'll splat harmlessly on the rightmost saws. Once out jump over the doppleganger there, and down into the bottom-right tunnel. Press the button, and wait for a second until two dopplegangers fall down. Don't even bother going up into the tunnel that opens this time. Just jump back up to the left of the beacon and let the dopplegangers splat themselves on the uh... larvae? Whatever that stuff is. Once that stuff's done, walljump up the right side, and hop through the saws when they're centered, and grab the prize. ------------------------------------------------------------------------------- [5-12] 10 Horns *Warp Zone* Bandages: 1 Par Time: 16.00 Strategy Even with just regular meat boy, you can just baaaarely reach the bottom left corner of the first floating island you start under. Hit it, and then walljump up the left side of the cliff to get easy access to the portal. Once that's done, head over the bridge to the right. Make sure you dash when it appears, because it fades in and out. The rest of this level is a speed-and- precision jumping test. The two walls will disappear, so jump quickly up them when they're there. I don't THINK you can get the band-aid in this level using meat boy, so pick a double-or-triple jump character. Once you're past the walljumping part, slide down the lefthand wall, jump off and double jump once you hit the band-aid down there, and then... When the three-panel island appears, jump to it, and jump as far up and right as you can, you should just be able to sqeueze between the two saws. That's it for this level! ------------------------------------------------------------------------------- [5-13] The Lamb Bandages: 0 Par Time: 20.00 Strategy This level is all about finding a rhythm. Once you play it a couple times you'll know when the blocks are going to appear and disappear, maybe once a second for each set. Once you get the rhythm down, it's easy to just jump knowing that the blocks are about to appear. On the wall sections at the very top, walljump twice off of the ones on the left, then once onto the righthand ones. ------------------------------------------------------------------------------- [5-14] King Carrion Bandages: 0 Par Time: 30.50 Strategy The "avoid the maggot" section can be totally bypassed by jumping right right away and falling down while pressing the left directional button. Once down here, there is some walljumping while avoiding the carrion king. This guy swoops in big lazy arcs around you, so he isn't too bad to avoid. You don't want him to start turning small circles around you, so try to run far away from him to keep him moving in big circles. Grap the key by walljumping off the rightmost wall, then grab the last key in the locked room to the left. Walljump up the final section, remembering to walljump right below the buzzsaws and then walljumping and using slides to avoid them. B-A-G thanks you! ------------------------------------------------------------------------------- [5-15] The Flood Bandages: 0 Par Time: 13.50 Strategy This level can be a bear, because you can't slow down and have to make precision jumps. "The flood" refers to the flood of maggot eggs following you from the left, and by that I mean "AAHHHHHH!" You have to keep running. When you hit the vertical part, jump off the right wall to the left, then over the maggot pile. The tunnel is a real bear, but keep dashing and you should be able to make the long, low jumps it requires. The final section isn't too bad, just a big maggot pile that's simple to jump over. Get B-A-G out of here! ------------------------------------------------------------------------------- [5-16] Rotgut Bandages: 1 Par Time: 30.00 Strategy There is a trick to this level. You want to get the carrion kings to stop following you, and you can do this by getting a lot of distance between you and them quickly. Drop down the right, and wait until the king flies after you. Jump up and to the left, and when it arcs up that way quickly go down-right. With any luck, it'll fall asleep, and you can fall to the bottom platform and jump over the beacon to the next level. This is a precision jumping section, so just dodge the buzzsaws. Slide down the right wall until you are about even with the beacon. Jump out and catch it, and lead the carrion king here back left. WHen he arcs around you here, quickly hop to the right, riding the two beacons to the next (easier) dodging section. When you're at the top of that, you'll see a becaon blocking your path. You have to walljump off the right edge of the pit to make it across, and you'll still have to jump from the left edge. Before you get the girl, take a jump to her left, get the band-aid, and let the beacons push you back into her. ------------------------------------------------------------------------------- [5-17] The Kingdom Bandages: 0 Par Time: 23.00 Strategy This level introduces a few new players to the game. First up is the 'ol quad rocket launcher. I actually don't mind this one as much as any of the homing missle launchers. It'll fire to all the four directions, then turn and fire all four diagonals. The missiles aren't homing, and you can see which way it's pointing, so it's not too hard to avoid. Once you're over those, jump over the homing missile down to the right. See that different-colored wall there? That's a wall that can only be broken by a missile. Let the homing launcher do the work, jumping right before it hits you. There are buzzsaw shooters that track you in here, but they fire slowly so as long as you keep running it shouldn't really be an issue. Make it to the end and get your damsel in distress! ------------------------------------------------------------------------------- [5-18] Gate of Ludd Bandages: 1 Par Time: 17.00 Strategy The band-aid is high up in this level. You CAN get this with just regular meat boy, but I'd recommend against it. To get it with meat boy, jump up above the first buzzsaw, launch yourself out towards the band-aid, and catch the beacon to land on the right wall. It's way easier to do with a double or tiple jumper, where you can just get it from floating in the regular beacons. When that's done, grab the key by floating between the beacons, and then pick one (probably the right one) to float on, moving back and forth to dodge missile attacks until the wall is gone and you can rescue the prisoner. ------------------------------------------------------------------------------- [5-19] Wrath Bandages: 0 Par Time: 29.00 Strategy A series of rooms with varying levels of peril! Break open the blocks to expose a homing saw launcher. Try to be far from it on the ground when it fires, to jump and avoid it. Fall down the next area and run along the ground so the missiles break open a piece of the ground. Walljump up and stand by the breakable walls so that they are broken by the next salvo. Press the button and get ready to dodge the incoming missiles, then drop down. Run quickly through the room as soon as one set of missiles fires. Be ready to jump any missiles following you on ground level. Wait until the walls first appear to walljump up. The last section is simply a repeat of the first. Get your girl! ------------------------------------------------------------------------------- [5-20] Judgement Bandages: 1 Par Time: 32.00 Strategy This level is a good summary of the world everything you've learned from this world. Don't move at first, as dropping down will help improve your time. Jump over the carrion kings here, luring them all as far to the left as you can, then take off dashing to the right so you distract them all. The next section is one of those timed jump sections, where you need to get the rhythm for when the blocks are going to appear and disappear before you jump. Once you get that rhythm it's not a hard section. After that, in the building to the right, the homing launchers will cave out the floor for you, I'd recommend letting them get two shots in. Jump over the saw down there and onto the final floor. You can dash quickly over the floor as it appears to get to B-A-G, but before you do try to attract all the dopplegangers over to the right, then jump down, run past them, grab the band-aid, and walljump back up. Run over the floor now, get your girl, and get gone! ------------------------------------------------------------------------------- [5-1X] The Clot Bandages: 0 Par Time: 30.00 Strategy A black and red start to the world! The first section is a run and jump over buzzsaws. Remember to use the top of the ceiling to move you long horizontal distances over the saws. I know that it LOOKS like you're supposed to jump right into B-A-G's arms, but don't. The real trick is to drop down the right wall there, and navitage the next maze of buzzsaws. Remember when there are two buzzsaws and you have to jump between them that jumping while holding the directional button towards the wall you just jumped from will get you past the saws. There are some breakable walls up at the top- right here, so break them and jump down. ------------------------------------------------------------------------------- [5-2X] Loomer Bandages: 0 Par Time: 17.00 Strategy You have to use the beacons very carefully in this level. To start with, jump right, slide down the left wall, and hit the beacon RIGHT above its center. This should boost you up to the next level. Drop down, slide down the shaft walljumping as you go, and again jump right above the becaon. It should propel you between the top two saws. Jump at the sweet spot again on the last beacon, to push you up past the first buzzsaw on the left. Walljump to the wall on the right, then up to the girl. ------------------------------------------------------------------------------- [5-3X] Spank Bandages: 0 Par Time: 35.00 Strategy This dang level surely "spank"ed me! Took me like 30 tries to get through the sucker. There are two keys, to the right and to the left. I went to the right first, so so will this guide! Head that way, and you'll see some moving beacons and buzzsaws. The trick is to only jump if one of the following is true: 1) The beacon is moving down or 2) The beacon is moving up and the saw is moving towards you. You want to jump far and fast into the beacon, and you should get through ok. Jump up dodging the saw and get the key, then run down and repeat the process. Go to the left now, using the becaons to hover you through the buzzsaws in the middle. Here, jump if the beacons are moving down, or if they are moving up and the saw is moving towards you. Grab the second key, return to the center, and blow this fruit stand. ------------------------------------------------------------------------------- [5-4X] Alabaster Bandages: 1 Par Time: 27.00 Strategy This level is all about beacon mastery. Start by walljumping up the right wall, and using the beacons to slide you up the left wall past the buzzsaws. Jump right on top of the center to achieve this. Once that's done, jump to the right wall, hop down below the first saw, stick to the left wall and hop over the saw under that, and fall down and grab the key. Walljump back up, and head to the left. Jump waaaay over to the left, past the beacon, and grab the wall at the bottom of the left structure. There is a band-aid down there, so grip it and wallclimb back up. Use the beacon to hover you past the two buzzsaws (hardest part of the level for me, just remember to start heading left before you pick up much updward momentum), and use the inner beacon to move to the top-right where your bonecita waits. ------------------------------------------------------------------------------- [5-5X] Nix Bandages: 1 Par Time: 18.00 Strategy The first section in this level is the most frustrating, just because you have to time one jump absolutely perfectly. To get the band-aid, activate the switch, then drop down, walljump up the right side of the level to get the band-aid, then quickly run out of the shaft and walljump back to where you started from before the floor comes back. Next, activate the button and dash to your left, jumping over the buzzsaws and not stopping for anything. There will be a flashing electrical spark thing before the end. You need to jump and hit it, just the very bottom of it, and land back on the floor so you can finish running and drop down both of the open shafts. The rest of the levels is fairly simple. Run and jump right before you hit the bottom saws, walljump and hit the transformer in the last part, then walljump up above the saws to your honey. ------------------------------------------------------------------------------- [5-6X] Ripcord Bandages: 0 Par Time: 12.00 Strategy Got to keep moving fast on this level because the doors close just about as soon as they open, it seems! First walljump up the left side and hit the trigger there, jump through the opening on the wall, and then circle back and cling to the left side of the wall there. Hit the button midway across the pole there, and drop down to hit the second button on the wall to the left. Hop across to the right wall. Jump up, moving through the new opening, then hit the button on the left wall and climb through THAT new opening. Avoid the saws, and hit the button that's hidden on the piece of wall jutting down one to the left of the framework wall. The three walls to the girl will open, each with a buzzsaw above and below. Wait for them to open, then lightly hop through all three to get her! ------------------------------------------------------------------------------- [5-7X] Downpour Bandages: 0 Par Time: 15.00 Strategy You HAVE to be able to grab a falling key to complete this level. Jump to the first tower, and hit the button there. It will release a key from the top. Grab it when it's just started to fall and BOOK IT right. The key there will be released, and you have to be hanging on a wall and ready to jump out and get it as it goes by. Once you've got that, drop down to the left, wait until a buzzsaw shoots underneath, and charge through the passageway there, jumping buzzsaws when you're right next to them. Wallclimb up and grab your female. ------------------------------------------------------------------------------- [5-8X] Downer Bandages: 1 Par Time: 26.00 Strategy This is like level 5-8 from hell. On steroids. On hell-steroids, from steroid- hell. if you are asking me "Bacter, was this level sent by the devil to eat my babies?" I would have to respond "I don't know. Its devil-mouth was too full of your babies for me to ask it." Ok so it's doable though. Start out Between the right two buzzsaws, the run to the absolute right. Go between the right two again, and squeeze between the right two buzzsaws on the next part. I swear it's possible. This will let you fit in the gap in the right side. Dash to the left, and when your platform is about to hit the top of the next rung of spikes, jump and slide down the wall. Start on the left side here to avoid the moving spikes, then run right, getting the band-aid from below the central buzzsaw. For this next part, walljump to stay on top of all the spikes until you see an opening, then jump through it. Once you're to the bottom, take your time and run forward one saw at a time. You'll get there! ------------------------------------------------------------------------------- [5-9X] Swine Bandages: 0 Par Time: 40.00 Strategy This one is pretty simple. There are going to be a large number of dopplegangers chasing after you, and breakable walls at the bottom of each partition. YOu want to slide down (or up) each of these, making sure to do lots of walljumps. You want to collect all the dopplegangers in one heap. When you get to the end, walljump up and grab the key, then take off running to the left. With some luck, you'll leave behind all the dopplegangers. Jump up to the hallway where the B-A-G is, and there will be two dopplegangers rushing at you. If you wait until you almost run into them before jumping, you can jump over them and get to her! ------------------------------------------------------------------------------- [5-10X] Pulp Factory Bandages: 1 Par Time: 15.00 Strategy You'll need two runs of this level- one to get the bandage, one to get the par time. You want to stick close to the center pit with the buzzsaw in it. There will be keys dropping down from above, and dopplegangers falling from all sides. When a doppleganger drops, hop to the opposite side, and they'll fall in the pit. You want to get all the keys to open up both sides. When you do, hop up the right side to get the band-aid, and up the left side to get the band-aid girl. ------------------------------------------------------------------------------- [5-11X] Blight Bandages: 1 Par Time: 25.00 Strategy A tricky jumping level! For the first part, sneak under the left buzzsaw when it's going up, then into the center when the center saw goes down. Jump to the top-right, and walljump off so you land when the saw is down and right saw is going up. Run and tap jump through the middle, then repeat the process. RUn all the way to the right, tap the button underneat the left buzzsaw, then run back and walljump off the left wall through the buzzsaws, hitting the other button. Let the beacon propel you onto the right wall, where you leap through the saws in kind of a hurry. Jump behind B-A-G, and slide down. Attract the dopplegangers to you before running left off the ledge, getting the band-aid, and jumping back up to finish out the level! ------------------------------------------------------------------------------- [5-12X] Canker Bandages: 0 Par Time: 26.00 Strategy To start out DASH to the right. The bridge will disappear but you'll hit the wall and be able to climb up. Then take off for the right and wallclimb up the bits there to get to the top. Now, instead of going right, you jump left and between the two buzzsaws. Try to land on the diagonal part of the next island, wait for a buzzsaw to go overhead, then follow it, jump between the saws and onto the platforms. Time your jumps get the key, and start jumping back to the right. There will be one more disappearing platforms part before you get to the lost love. ------------------------------------------------------------------------------- [5-13X] Halo Of Flies Bandages: 0 Par Time: 25.00 Strategy This is like the jumping level in 5-13, with some extra buzzsaw fun! It took me a lot of practice to get this level down, but there aren't actually a lot more tricks. On the section that is four platforms on top of each other, you just jump off of one right before the next one materializes, so you land on it. Also remember, walljump once on the lefthand walls, twice on the righthand one. ------------------------------------------------------------------------------- [5-14X] Necrosis Bandages: 0 Par Time: 60.00 Strategy They give you a LONG time limit for this level, but I was able to do it in about 40.00. To start with, drop down the shaft. You'll want to walljump to the left side, and then you can pretty much fall down the rest of the way, if you get in the middle. Wait for the carrion king to charge you, then jump on the islands, leaving the first one in the dust. Lead the second one to the island on the bottom of the screen, then go wallclimb up the shaft on the right and grab the key. Return across the bottom of the screen, drawing the carrion kings away from you by going right for a bit. Wallclimb up the shaft you fell down to start with, and from there it's just a hop skip and a jump to the finale! ------------------------------------------------------------------------------- [5-15X] Choke Bandages: 0 Par Time: 15.00 Strategy What's that? You thought you were good at precision jumping? You know NOTHING of precision jumping! Not until you've finished choke! There is a lightning-fast wall of maggots screaming after you, and half of the floor and ceiling is deadly egg sac clusters. You'll want to keep dash on the whole time. This level will take a lot of practice! The only real "trick" is right at the end, there will be a run-and-jump with a maggot crawling across the ceiling. Let it crawl a little ways before jumping, because you can't make the jump if it's on top of you. You need to be a little bit ahead of the wall at that point. ------------------------------------------------------------------------------- [5-16X] Coil Bandages: 0 Par Time: 32.00 Strategy Start out this level by walking left and falling down to the island there. Distract the carrion king by jumping up and left, then falling down and right. Use the beacon to get to the middle column. When you're there, you'll be walljumping. If the two saws come down at an angle, always be jumping from the side that the highest buzzsaw is on. Once you're through, slide down the left wall and jump out, attracting the king carrion. Leave him in the dust, and take the two beacons over. Wait until the buzzsaw has shot up before walljumping up. You'll need to walljump off the right lip of the gap to get over, try to land on the piece of concrete right on the other side of the saw. Dash left to the end hopping buzzsaws, probably with a king carrion hot on your tail. You can do it! ------------------------------------------------------------------------------- [5-17X] Stain Bandages: 1 Par Time: 27.00 Strategy This is another level where you should have two playthroughs- a band-aid and a par time play. The band-aid can be tricky to see. It's in a hole between the first and second walls. To get it, jump to the top of the first wall, and attract a missile. While dodging bullet fire, jump above the missle, then stand by the ground above the band-aid. When the missile comes around, run left towards the first wall. The missile should, with a little practice, hit the ground on top of the band-aid, freeing it for access. From there, jump to the right side of the second wall, and attract a missile to run into it. It hsould break open, allowing you to dash in and hit the button (beware the saws!). Run to the right, under the new missile fire, and jump the buzzsaw. Hit the wall at the end and get a missile to run into it. Repeat this process just twice more to get her and get out! ------------------------------------------------------------------------------- [5-18X] Stain Bandages: 1 Par Time: 19.00 Strategy Another doozie! I guess we should be expecting them at this point. There is a set way to finish this with par time. Run left right away, and jump up on the left bottom platform in between bursts. Walljump from the left wall to the left top platform during a diagonal burst, grab the key, and settle on the rightmost platform. The rest of the game is just hopping when the two horizontal bullets come at you, with a possible exception of an interruption from the moving shooter above. The very second that the disappearing key platform allows it, jump in and get your hostage. ------------------------------------------------------------------------------- [5-19X] Magog Bandages: 0 Par Time: 41.00 Strategy Yet another bear of a level. When avoiding the first buzzsaw, get a rhythm down and always jump RIGHT as it's firing, so you can slide down the breakable walls without getting splatted. The next two parts should be fine, with jumping buzzsaws and escaping rocket death. To get throug the multicannon room, wait until the cannons just fired diagonally, then dash in, hopping over projectiles and jumping over the cannon when it's firing horizontally. To scale the walls, walljump off the bottom left corner of the wall before the wall appaers, then quickly scale the wall when it does. Break open the last two breakable walls, keeping in mind that the final buzzsaw launcher moves much more slowly than does the first one. WHEW DONE. ------------------------------------------------------------------------------- [5-20X] Quietus *Warp Zone* Bandages: 0 Par Time: Strategy To get the warp zone in this level, you first have to walljump up, break through the walls, and push the button behind the zone. After that's done, get ready for an intense running section! You'll probably have to do it several times to get the timing down right. Once that's over with, it's a regular jumping on disappearing blocks while being shot at by buzzsaws. Got to love a game where that statement makes sense! Anyway head to the left to enter the portal. If you already have the portal, you can use the blocks around it as a jumping- off point, to move right over the buzzsaws. Once there, jump through the saws and hit the button up top. Then jump down through the floor, and do one final very tight jump over a buzzsaw. And you're through! That's it for the regular levels! Huzzah! You are surely the master of meat! ------------------------------------------------------------------------------- [5-Boss] Larries Lament **Boss Fight OMG!** Strategy Aw man that stupid button does EVERYTHING! Ok so we got some idiot worms charging for us. Time to SURVIVE. Ok there are three things that these guys can do. They can, at any time: -Burst from the ground (spraying maggots around after the first one dies), and lunge after you that way -Run along the ground, eating everything in their path -Just pop and look around going hurrrrr You want them to do the first thing. Stand a distance away from the saws, to draw them to come up there, then run in to the saws. If you're lucky, one will leap at you. Run under him as he crashes down, and he'll hit a saw and get buzzed. Just chip them away one by one this way and they'll fall soon enough. =============================================================================== [CH 6] The End He thought he could get away, just like any other time. He was wrong. Dead wrong. Time to show fetus the door. =============================================================================== [6-1] The Pit Bandages: 0 Par Time: 30.00 Strategy Not too tough a level for the intro. Hop to the center of the level, then on the bottom level head all the way to the right. The key will be hanging down on a kind of fishing pole over the edge. This lets you go to the middle level on the left, walljump over the saw, and get the key from the fishing pole on the left there. This opens the top level on the right. Head up that way, and it's just a buzzsaw-dodging game to beat the level. ------------------------------------------------------------------------------- [6-2] Schism Bandages: 0 Par Time: 44.00 Strategy This is a walljumping kind of level. Head to the left, hug the wall down and then just drop. This next part is a tenuous series of jumps over a big pit. Look down for more platforms, then drop to them. Take a big jump to the right at the island's bottom, and walljump up on the vertical walls. Grab the key, drop down, and begin to jump back up. Just about every vertical wall can be used as a walljumping platform. You'll need to remember how to slide and jump effectively to get past the buzzsaws. You may need a couple tries to get par time on this one. ------------------------------------------------------------------------------- [6-3] Echoes Bandages: 0 Par Time: 34.00 Strategy You're collecting keys in this level, and they are all around buzzsaw clocks! Jump right on the moving platform to get to the first one, it's in the building on the right. You'll want to enter right as the hand passes, then jump up where you'll be safe. Wait for the hand to pass you again and leave quickly. Repeat this once more with the building up top. You'll then ride some platforms to the right. The trick with the two-clock is to swiftly enter and wallslide up while the hands are away from you. Where the key is you'll be safe, so you can wait 'till the coast's clear to drop down. Your girl is there, and she's almost safe! ------------------------------------------------------------------------------- [6-4] Gently Bandages: 0 Par Time: 33.00 Strategy You want to proceed gently indeed in this mission! Well, as gently as you can while running full-tilt. The first and hardest part of this deals with the swinging clock-buzzsaws. Remember that under them is safe, and for the fast- moving one in the big chamber, the corners are safe. Run quickly and you should be ok. The last part is just jumping buzzsaws, which you should have ample practice with. Grab your girly in the top of the level. ------------------------------------------------------------------------------- [6-5] Omega Bandages: 0 Par Time: 44.00 Strategy You know... it's not that this level was EASY. It was hard, no doubt about it. It's just that there have been much harder, and for the final light level before the boss.... oh well. On we go. This whole level is basically a lot of walljumping. Remember to keep in mind that you can jump close to the wall by holding the directional button in to walljump without hitting a saw on the opposite side, and that you can leap out far by holding no directional button to get around saws that are jutting out. The only part that gave me particular trouble was right at the end, and I would caution people to take the first buzzsaw jump on the second level down at the very end very slowly. Other than that, good luck! ------------------------------------------------------------------------------- [6-1X] Detox Bandages: 0 Par Time: 40.00 Strategy Alright NOW we are getting into some serious levels. Start this one out by falling to the right and navigating between the two buzzsaws. Wait until the gap in saws comes on the box on the next level, and jump to the right wall then left corner to avoid the saws. Dash across the box and jump over the two saws as they come towards you. There are now three keys you have to collect, one on the right and two on the left. For the first one on the right, run and jump right after the saw swings past you, get the key and circle back, staying in the safe area of the saw's handle. The top left key is unprotected, simply jump over some saws to get it. Jump out to get the third key as soon as the saw touches the key, and jump back to land. Your lady is in the middle. ------------------------------------------------------------------------------- [6-2X] Ghost Tomb Bandages: 0 Par Time: 50.00 Strategy This is another kind of walljumping crash course. You basically did this level before, on 6-2, but without some extra buzzsaws to make things fun. Two places tripped me up. On the bottom left hand of the level, you're meant to jump to the leftmost wall, then walljump all the way to the one vertical piece on the island itself and jump from there. On the return trip, fall all the way to the bottom of the wall immediately above and to the right of the island's bottom (and the piece of wall right before the very end) before jumping. ------------------------------------------------------------------------------- [6-3X] From Beyond Bandages: 0 Par Time: 70.00 Strategy Hooo this is a toughie! This one took me like 45 minutes of straight play to get. It's basically the reverse of 6-3. Jump up and into the clock tower, resting on the pedestal in the middle, and jumping down quickly. There are three keys you'll need to get, and this is the order I got them in. Jump to the rightmost level, where you enter the room, and follow the saw around. Jump across it to get the key, and leave. Take the platform over to the left, jumping to the top left corner when you get there. Drop down, quickly dash to get the key, and jump to the top-left corner of the room to protect yourself against the swinging buzzsaw. From there, ride the platforms back up. There will be a clockwise-moving buzzsaw and a key above it. There is a buzzsaw where the moving saw is anchored, so you'll have to continuously walljump moving in a clockwise manner until the gate opens again. Then ride the platforms back, jumping onto the small section of wall, and using that to get over the big clock area. Fall into your girl's arms! ------------------------------------------------------------------------------- [6-4X] Maze of Ith Bandages: 0 Par Time: 50.00 Strategy I didn't find Ith's maze (whoever Ith is) as difficult as the other dark levels, but you ARE on a tight schedule. You need to run to the other end of the hallway, dodging the swipe from the buzzsaw arm, then walljump onto the next level. Do this three times, and don't hesitate, i.e. each level should only allow one rotation of the buzzsaw arm. Once past this, wait for the big hand to swing by and scale the top of the maze. Run along the bottom then jump to the next level. Keep in mind that the left corner of the second level of the maze is a safe place. Keep running, staying away from the buzzsaw hands, and get out of the maze. In this next part, you should time things so that you jump over both of the buzzsaws on the bottom at once, time things so that the moving buzzsaw is over the stationary one when you jump. The rest of the level is a buzzsaw avoidance jumping level, and you have ample experience at that kind of thing! ------------------------------------------------------------------------------- [6-5X] No Quarter Bandages: 0 Par Time: 60.00 Strategy This last of the dark world levels is tricky indeed! You did a level much like this back in 6-5, but there are many more buzzsaws this time. You'll want to jump to the top quickly and dash in the small tunnel by jumping to the left, try to time this when the hands have just passed it by. After that first section, it's a basic buzzsaw avoidance course. I would like to mention that after the first building you're in, there are two buzz- saws to the left on a tunnel and a building protected by two buzzsaws to the right. I found the best way to get in the tunnel to be to wallslide slightly up the right side there, and then walljump over the lower saw. Keep at it, go slow if you have to on the last building, and you'll get there before too long! Good luck, I believe in you and so does band-aid girl! ------------------------------------------------------------------------------- [6-Boss] Dr. Fetus **Boss Fight OMG!** Strategy To begin with this is an avoid-the-obstacles fight. Run to the right, and dodge fetus' two rockets. Run down, jump up the right wall as soon as you possibly can, then make your way up. The blades will stop to let you get up to the top platforms in this next section, so take advantage of that. You'll then jump down, slide down the left wall, and jump over. Keep jumping until you drop way down, and are in a big room with a button on top. You'll want to wallclimb and hit the button, which opens up a compartment with another button in it. Go press that. Ok, so Fetus is done for, but you still have to escape! This section doesn't really have any tricks, it's just a difficult run-and-jump section. There's no time limit, so just use all the tricks you've acquired to get out. Good luck! ------------------------------------------------------------------------------- [6-BossX] Dr. Fetus **Boss Fight OMG!** Strategy This is much the same as the previous Dr. Fetus Boss Fight, only with more spikey death. Actually LOTS more spikey death. There are extra spikes along the edges in the first part, so you'll definately want to walljump between them. In the next section, don't worry about the spinning buzzsaws, but just walljump from the right wall to the top right lip on the chasm. From there drop down. This time you need to drop to the floor level, hopping over one spike, onto the left wall, over the center saw, and onto the right wall. Hop up there, and wait for the saws to move on. This last part is pretty similar, just a walljump, avoid-the-saws kind of part, get to the buttons, press them, and presto you've completed the quest! =============================================================================== [CH 7] The Cotton Alley Imagine... if the world were different. Imagine... if Dr. Fetus hated band-aid girl more than meat boy. Imagine... if she rescued HIM, instead of being the helpless prisoner. Imagine... THE COTTON ALLEY =============================================================================== [7-1] Pink Noise Bandages: 0 Par Time: 11.00 Strategy This first level should introduce you to the kind of difficulty we are going to see in the cotton alley. TOUGH. Hop over the saws to begin with, then walljump to the right then left, then over. Use the clear patch of wall to the left to vault the central saw, and make sure you hit the wall to the right. Jump over the final wall of saws from there, over the last ground saws, and get your dude ------------------------------------------------------------------------------- [7-2] Run Rabbit Run Bandages: 0 Par Time: 13.00 Strategy This level is FRANTIC. Drop down to the right and start dashing, and you should be ok. Notice that you are running a little bit faster than the buzzsaws. In order to not smack into the front one, DON'T just stop running. This technically can work, but it's more likely that you'll get splatted by the buzzsaw that's following you. Instead, stop running for a second or two, which should drop your speed by enough that you'll be ok. The real trick to this level is going from the top level to the bottom one. I managed it by taking the top level ALMOST hitting the saw in front of me, then sliding down the right wall, walljumping once when I was on the launcher, and dashing left. You CAN'T stop on this bottom level, you'll have to use the stop dashing for a second trick. Your fella is on the left, get him! ------------------------------------------------------------------------------- [7-3] Spinal Tap Bandages: 0 Par Time: 23.00 Strategy While it may LOOK really intimidating, this level isn't so hard. Dash to the right, then jump over the first saw as soon as the small saw passes over you. Do the same for the next saw. This should put you about halfway through the level. The trick to the rest is staying close to the center saws, jumping over when the center is clear. You should make it without much trouble to meat boy! ------------------------------------------------------------------------------- [7-4] Stag Bandages: 0 Par Time: 26.00 Strategy There are two parts to this level- the bottom and the top part. To get past the bottom, it's important to note that while the buzzsaw goes all the way to the left, there is a place to the right where you can stand. I tended to stand to the right, wait until the saws were coming at me, then jump to the right side of the next platform. Eventually, you'll get to the next section, where you just run under the buzzsaws and leap the flying saws as they approach. ------------------------------------------------------------------------------- [7-5] Tommunism Bandages: 0 Par Time: 30.00 Strategy BOY are there a lot of those gross floaty guys in this level. Six of them in fact. There are two main ways to get across the level. You can jump across the bottom, landing on the island in the middle. This is good if most of the floaters are on the top of the level. The second way is by walljumping up the left side and leaping to the right. This is good if the blobs are diffuse or concentrated on the bottom. There isn't much to this level- it's just jumping back and forth a lot. Note that while it's possible to hide in the little halls to the left and right, SOMETIMES the blobs can get into them. ------------------------------------------------------------------------------- [7-6] Panic Attack Bandages: 0 Par Time: 7.50 Strategy This level is called panic attack because that is what you have! Get the key and start dashing to your right. You don't want much height on any of the jumps until the last two, what you want is long low jumps. It will take you a couple tries to get the timing down, but once you do this is a relatively simple level. ------------------------------------------------------------------------------- [7-7] Tunnel Blower Bandages: 10.50 Par Time: 10.50 Strategy This level requires some competency with the airstreams. You'll jump off to the right, and when you start getting some upward momentum, float between the saws, and float up to get the key. Jump back down, get the airstream to the right, and ride it up past the right buzzsaw. Jump up and get your fella. ------------------------------------------------------------------------------- [7-8] Pig Latin Bandages: 0 Par Time: 26.00 Strategy This level sees you jumping past a bunch of angry blobs while doing a lot of walljumping. Jump up and over the first wall, slide most of the way down the right side of it, and wait 'till the coast is clear to leap through the saws. TO get up the middle wall, jump from the top of the block you are on, and slide up into the tight section. From there just walljump, staying behind the blobs. Once down the other side, just repeat the first section but in reverse. The toughest jump is probably from the middle-right island to the right wall, so don't worry if that takes you a couple tries! *****CONTRIBUTED GUIDE***** I know of a MUCH easier and faster way to clear 7-8 (Pig Latin). Most of the red blobs can be avoided entirely as well as most of the level. At the start, just make your way to the wall at the bottom of the level on the left with the buzzsaw on top of it. From there, simply make one walljump all the way across the bottom of the level to the same wall on the right, completely skipping 75% of the level. From there, just make your way up to Meat Boy and job done. -JFinn *************************** ------------------------------------------------------------------------------- [7-9] Hatch Bandages: 0 Par Time: 21.00 Strategy This level is all timing. None of the jumps you have to make are particularly hard, and all the buzzsaws fire at regular intervals. Try to jump from the side of the rooms that have upward-facing treadmills, that makes all the jumps just a bit easier. There are three rooms, you'll go center/left/right. All the rooms have a key dangling from their center, so to get it you'll have to jump up and over. Not too tough a level. ------------------------------------------------------------------------------- [7-10] Bullet Bob Bandages: 0 Par Time: 32.00 Strategy A frantic dash between different sides of the level, you're after the keys. The lower two level keys are hidden behind breakable walls, the upper level keys behind doors that are unlocked by the lower level keys. Once you get the upper keys, keys will drop from the ceiling, and these open the doors to meat boy at the top. A good trick to keep in mind is that if you are on one edge or another, one of the missile launchers won't fire at you. The only time you have to be in the middle is when you are jumping to the top to get meat boy, so watch out for the missile launcher that you were hidden from previously, as it will be off-rhythm with the other two. ------------------------------------------------------------------------------- [7-11] Train Eater Bandages: 0 Par Time: 18.00 Strategy If this is a train, it is the worst. train. ever. You'll want to run back and forth in a tiny look to throw off any incoming missiles. Let the blades advance so you have most of the salt track open to you, so you can jump over them while keeping ahead of the rockets. Watch out for the saw launchers, but they don't fire often enough to really be a threat. ------------------------------------------------------------------------------- [7-12] Peel Bandages: 0 Par Time: 11.60 Strategy Just a run/twitch level. Dash to the left when a buzzsaw comes by, and slide up the wall. Jump as soon as one passes overhead, then jump in the ceiling to avoid the next one. Fall down and wallslide on the left part of the shaft, running left and jumping as soon as you can to avoid the saw. Keep running left, jump into the next section, and jump up and go up to your man. ------------------------------------------------------------------------------- [7-13] Pepto Bandages: 0 Par Time: 22.00 Strategy This is a level with a swiftly-rising sea of pepto bismal. Gross! The trick to this level is (after the first two levels), running to the edge of a wall, jump-sliding all the way up as far as you can, and clearing the whole level in a single bound. Other than that, this is just a quick walljump type level. I didn't have any trouble with the par time. ------------------------------------------------------------------------------- [7-14] Watchtower Bandages: 0 Par Time: 40.00 Strategy Aw man I had hoped we were done with these stinking eyes for good! The point of this level is to grab the four rotating keys that are circling around the eye. Run to either side, walljump up, and hopefully grab one or two of the keys per jump. Don't take out too many of the wall pieces, you'll need them for multiple jumps. ------------------------------------------------------------------------------- [7-15] Lock Out Bandages: 0 Par Time: 24.00 Strategy Oh boy, oh boy. It's our old friend, the screaming mouth-launcher. Yee-haw. This level sees you collecting keys as you jump between levels. You'll want to keep away from the launchers as much as possible (on the other side of the wall), because that gives you more reaction time and means that the ones on the same side as you can't see you to fire. Leap from the walls just as the missiles are about to hit, because that will put you the furthest distance away from the launcher when it explodes. ------------------------------------------------------------------------------- [7-16] Hopscotch Bandages: 0 Par Time: 20.00 Strategy This level makes sure you know how to use the beacons! In order to get enough bounce off of them to make you shoot over the taller buzzsaws, you'll want to enter the repulsive field at an angle, letting you get close to the center. Keep bobbing up and down on it, and it should carry you through. Sometimes you might have to go ahead of it and circle back under the buzzsaw you just passed, but watch out, if you get too close to the center it'll rocket you up very far, and that's hard to control. ------------------------------------------------------------------------------- [7-17] Lead Sheets Bandages: 0 Par Time: 20.00 Strategy This level is the final word in rotating cannons. There are six of them per level, three on the top and three on the bottom. They are staggered. This level is fairly simple if you stick to one rule: Jump between launchers when they are facing up and down, stand underneath them when they are firing diagonally. ------------------------------------------------------------------------------- [7-18] Oobs Revenge Bandages: 0 Par Time: 21.00 Strategy This is the level that has you getting around the Carrion Kings, or, uh, "oobs" as I guess they are called. You'll be jumping across a lot of breakable floors to get to the key on the right. My suggestion is to step very lightly, as you'll want most of this to be intact for a dash back left once you have the key. One good way to do this is to walljump off the top right corner of the four-square boxes, that should carry you a good distance to the next one and let you jump the carrion king. ------------------------------------------------------------------------------- [7-19] The Rash Bandages: 0 Par Time: 17.00 Strategy There is a definite track you have to run to be able to complete this mission, but it's not too hard once you get the hand of it. Start out dashing left, jumping over the hard-to-see saw there. Hit the first button, make sure to jump and hit the second one over the buzzsaw, the third on the other side of it, and wallslide up and hit the fourth. You want to jump onto the right wall and slide just up over it, so you don't hit the buzzsaws on the top there. Dash right, hitting the first buzzsaw towards the exit. The second one is at the bottom-right corner of that ceiling, and the third and fourth can be toggled by walljumping. In this last section, the first button is in the track you run, the second is on the floor later, and the third and fourth are achieved by walljumping up. Make sure not to hit the buzzsaws on the ceiling OR floor in the final section, and dash to your kidnapped man. ------------------------------------------------------------------------------- [7-20] 4 Letter Word Bandages: 0 Par Time: 45.00 Strategy One of the rare few, a level where getting the par time is significantly harder than just finishing the level. This isn't anything you haven't done before, just a lot of fancy buzzsaw-dodging, but you really can't slow down at all and still make par. Remember: Only jump over saws that are moving towards you, not away from you. In the level with the three saws moving vertically, remember that you can go over as well as under them. Jump at the last possible second to evade the stationary saws. That's it: you should be able to do this level without too much difficulty! Good luck! ------------------------------------------------------------------------------- [7-1X] White Noise Bandages: 0 Par Time: 60.00 Strategy They give you PLENTY of time to get par time on this level, so you might as well use it to set up your jumps. Start by going up, then jumping right wall- left wall - up to the top. There is some regular buzzsaw-hopping on the upper level (slide along the ceiling remember), and you'll want to slow your descent on the right side with walljumps. The rest of the levels is just a tough series of walljumps over the saws. Jump on the right wall below the saw, then left, right, and over. Land between the two saws on the wall you just leaped, jump through the middle, slide up to below the saw there, then vault the final saw and get your dude. ------------------------------------------------------------------------------- [7-2X] The Flipside Bandages: 0 Par Time: 60.00 Strategy A seriously tough level! They give you plenty of time for par, so don't worry too much about speed. In fact, this is one of the only levels where I DON'T recommend running! Walk towards the right, jumping quickly over any buzzsaws. If you are getting out of rhythm, jump straight up a few times to get set. The jump up is again the hardest part, and I don't have any special tricks beyond just "time it really well". Continue left, jumping as you go, and you'll get to prince charming in no time! ------------------------------------------------------------------------------- [7-3X] Organ Grinder Bandages: 0 Par Time: 60.00 Strategy This level gave me almost no trouble at all, though I could see how it could be really hard. Follow my path to victory! Walljump left, right as soon as you can, then left as soon as you can, then back right. From there, go R->L->R very quickly. After this point, I just walljumped up the right wall, sliding for a second if a saw was about to hit me, and that carried me all the way to the top! ------------------------------------------------------------------------------- [7-4X] The Tower Bandages: 0 Par Time: 60.00 Strategy This was actually a really easy level for me too. You will be walljumping up a tower while lots of buzzsaws fall at you. Remember, you can walljump for a loooong time in the air. You'll want to use the long distances to fly between the saws. DON'T jump out of the tower, because the nature of the tower means you probably won't be able to walljump back in (you'll get stuck in the edges). ------------------------------------------------------------------------------- [7-5X] Waiting Room Bandages: 0 Par Time: 60.00 Strategy This one is a lot like 7-5, only bigger. You'll be running back and forth between the left and right getting the keys. There are more blobs in all the rooms to the left, but for me they were all clustered on the ceiling, so I was basically able to just leap through them without much trouble. If they are down low you can always walljump up and over them. ------------------------------------------------------------------------------- [7-6X] Bone Machine Bandages: 0 Par Time: 60.00 Strategy I was able to scale the tower in the following way: Run to the left, slide up, walljump over the first buzzsaw, get right below the second, and leap up and right. You should just clear the saws on the other side. Walljump up once, leap over the center saw, then go R-L-R. Walljump up the left side of the narrowing tunnel, then alternate sides you jump up until you beat the level. ------------------------------------------------------------------------------- [7-7X] Going Up Bandages: 0 Par Time: 60.00 Strategy This is a pretty appropriate description for this level! Step to your right and ride the airblast up. You'll want to stay about in the middle of the level, so you can ride between the saws. When you pass four of them, you'll slow down and see another fan. Move over to it JUST enough to catch the blast up. Repeat this twice, and you'll get up and land on your prize at the top. ------------------------------------------------------------------------------- [7-8X] In Line Bandages: 0 Par Time: 60.00 Strategy To make this level a lot easier, do most of it with jumps. Jump from the left platform to about the middle of the level, falling in between two of the blobs. Walk with them a short way, until you can jump up, grab the right side of the wall, and walljump over to the key. Repeat this process to get back. It's somewhat harder as now the blobs are going against you, but jump into about the middle, fall in between two of them, jump up to the left, quickly jump and grab the left side of the wall, and jump left to the drapped bro. ------------------------------------------------------------------------------- [7-9X] Salt Shaker Bandages: 0 Par Time: 60.00 Strategy The one trick to this level is knowing when to start pulling away from the conveyer belts up. It's maybe an inch or two past the stop of the salt pile in the middle. You can actually walljump over the salt pile to the right wall once you're in the middle, so try for that. The second conveyer belt is just like the first, and you avoid the saws in the same way, by going left-right-left. ------------------------------------------------------------------------------- [7-10X] Masterblaster Bandages: 0 Par Time: 60.00 Strategy This is a twitch-reaction type of level. You basically want to be wallsliding the whole time you're vertical, and running while horizontal. You can tell the missile launchers are about to fire because they sort of seize up and swell a bit. There aren't a lot of fancy tricks to this level. If you are entering a hallway with two rocket launchers, try to enter the hallway right when one of them is about to fire, so you get two that are firing at the same time. Other than that, just dash and get your broseph! ------------------------------------------------------------------------------- [7-11X] Thumb Bandages: 0 Par Time: 60.00 Strategy This level is even a little more frantic than Train Eater (7-11), because you've got a bunch of walls to navigate and get in your way. A good rule of thumb is to keep far ahead of the blades, as far as you can. This is just a "memorize the level, and jump in the correct ways" kind of level, so I don't have any particular tricks, besides jumping under the first vertical-moving buzzsaw when it's on it's way up, so you can quickly jump under the second one as well. ------------------------------------------------------------------------------- [7-12X] Pink Bandages: 0 Par Time: 60.00 Strategy The first part of this level is pretty straightforward- drop down and go counter-clockwise, keeping away from the buzzsaws. You're trying to get around to the top-right corner, where there's a key. Once you get it, you'll want to use the the spaces inside the center of the level and the bottom which opens when you get the key to avoid the saws. Be sure and jump to the next hole as SOON as the saw passes you. You want to head back to where you started, jump up the new chimney, and get your guy. ------------------------------------------------------------------------------- [7-13X] Bleach Bandages: 0 Par Time: 60.00 Strategy This is another rising-tide level, only stupid buzzsaws are on the walls in all the best places to jump! As long as you keep moving quickly, this level shouldn't be awful. A good trick is jumping from the bottom of one floor directly onto the middle section of the next floor without walljumping over the buzzsaw on the wall you came from- you can use this on the first floor to get an early lead! ------------------------------------------------------------------------------- [7-14X] Bandages: 0 Par Time: 60.500 Strategy Friggin' eyes! To finish this level, dash to the left, slide up the wall, walljump over the eye, and land on the block above it. From here, jump up and left, then right onto the floating block. Run right, get the key, and jump down onto the floating block over the right eye. From there fall down and left and get to your dude at the bottom. ------------------------------------------------------------------------------- [7-15X] Patience Bandages: 0 Par Time: 60.00 Strategy This level looks insanely enough, and in fact would be without my secret tips! In order to beat it, DASH to the left as soon as the level starts, wallclimb and jump out the grab the key. As soon as you get it, twist back left, and dash left when you hit the ground. Jump and walljump immediately. What you want is to get on top of the first protrustion from the left wall. Once there, the leftmost and rightmost shooters can't see you, so all you have to do to avoid being hit is to jump whenever the center one fires, and it will dash itself against the floating block in front of you. It may take a couple tries to get to there, but once you do victory is yours! ------------------------------------------------------------------------------- [7-16X] Curls Bandages: 0 Par Time: 60.50 Strategy There are only two sets of saws in this level, but they are doozies! I beat the level like this. Jump out to the beacon, coming in at an angle on the first saw. Use that boost to go over the first saw. Be bounced up again to get over the second saw, and get under the third one on the dip down. The last section was reversed. I got through the first saw on a dip down, and hopped over the second and third saws. I just bobbed up and down vertically on the trip between them. ------------------------------------------------------------------------------- [7-17X] Bullet Proof Bandages: 0 Par Time: 60.50 Strategy There are two levels, an upper and a lower. The lower level was, for me, much much harder, because the guns were closer. Run quickly under the lower launcher, then jump up high in the air, and dash to the right. once you hit the wall, jump to the left side, and slide up. There is more distance between you and the guns on this level, giving you more time to dodge. Just run under the second one right after it has fired before, and you'll make it fine. ------------------------------------------------------------------------------- [7-18X] They Bite Bandages: 0 Par Time: 60.00 Strategy My suggestion for how to beat this level is to get all the carrion kings to chase you before you get the key. Get them all on your tail, walljump up one of the sides, then quickly drop down and grab the key. With any luck, they'll be far away from you and fall asleep, and not make it back in time before the walls and floor disappear and you get your king. ------------------------------------------------------------------------------- [7-19X] XOXO Bandages: 0 Par Time: 60.00 Strategy This is it: the grand pooh-bah of all annoying, difficult levels. Smack the Switch on top of you and the floor will take off, disappearing through the level. The catch? When it gets to somewhere on the third floor, the wall will start RE-appearing at a frantic clip. This thing took me FOREVER to do, so don't stress if it doesn't work for you to begin with. You want to let the disappearing blocks in front of you, giving them some room. When you are able make a fast (dashing) low jump by tapping the jump button lightly. Quickly, VERY quickly, jump up the walls to the next level and keep going. This strategy will last you until you get to the top floor. Here, you want to WALK, not run, and tap the jump button when you are past the buzzsaw and almost to the end. You will get a rhythm down if you do it enough. Congrats for passing this level, this makes you a meat boy god! ------------------------------------------------------------------------------- [7-20X] Brag Rights Bandages: 0 Par Time: 60.00 Strategy Here it is, folks. The very last level! (If you are playing them in order). While no slouch, I personally found XOXO much harder. But that could be just me. You'll be racing back and forth, outrunning some giant buzzsaws that are chasing you. There isn't any new strategy here- you've all outrun your share of buzzsaws to make it this far. Don't jump more than you have to, don't jump over anything moving the same direction as you are, keep your wits about you, and you can do this. I believe in you. Meat Boy believes in you. You are... THE MEAT CHAMPION!!! =============================================================================== [PTL] Portal Levels Scattered in the normal levels are special Portal Levels. You can identify these by swirling vortexes in the levels. These vortexes (vortexi?) don't stay open forever, so rush and grab them when you see them! Inside, you'll find various levels of old-fashioned graphics, along with a slightly different control scheme. Running is harder to stop, and jumping can be harder to control too. A portal opens on the main screen, so if you fail you can just go back and select the level from there, which is nice. The level packs come in 3s, and you must beat all three to win. You only have 3 lives to complete each level, and progress doesn't save. Fortunately, all your lives are restored every time you beat one of the levels. There are four portals per world. Two regular portals and one character unlock portal in the light world, and one portal in the dark world. This is like a tour through history, if history was all about Meat Boy. Enjoy! ------------------------------------------------------------------------------- [P1-1] Sky Pup 1-1 Portal Found in: 1-5 Bandages: 1 Strategy You're gonna have to get used to the control scheme in these portal levels- it's a big trickier. It takes longer to slow down and stop, and the jumping is harder to control. Anyway for this level, start off by heading to the left. Wall off the left edge of the platform, then hug that wall down to a little overhang. Try to jump out and hit that band-aid. The best way is to center yourself above it, and try to fall straight down. It takes some practice, so don't worry if it takes you a few times. After you get it, wall-jump back up to the top of the platform. Run off the right side onto the platform below, then off the left side of there. There is a one-black area where you can stand to the left of the buzzsaws. Stand there, hold dash, and jump over the buzzsaws to the area on the right. From there it's a simple walljump up to your lady. ------------------------------------------------------------------------------- [P1-2] Sky Pup 1-2 Bandages: 1 Strategy Just in case that last level wasn't enough for you. This bandage I found to be incredibly tricky to get. To start with, you'll want to fall off the left side of the edge on the platform below. If you don't care about the band-aid, just slide down the right side of that platform, hold dash, and jump across. Jump up to get the girl. If you DO, you'll want to try to do a jump like you did on the last level, by which I mean one where you end up going not very fast, as far above the central area as you can be. This will give you plenty of room to fall vertically down and get the fall lined up just right. From there, jump to the end. ------------------------------------------------------------------------------- [P1-3] Sky Pup 1-3 Bandages: 0 Strategy The hardest part of this level for me was getting inside the central hollow tower. You want to slide down either wall, and then jump out to the platform on the side you slid down. Watch out for the flying buzzsaws! Once you're there try to time a jump so you're jumping right as the buzzsaw fires. Remember to hold dash, and you'll jump and land on the central platform. From there, wall-jump up into the tower, being mindful of the buzzsaws that fly onto the edges. Once you're in here, you'll want to dash and jump, hitting the outer-most wall, and use that as a platform to jump and hit the inner wall. Wall-jump up to the top segment, being aware that there are more buzz-saws in here. You'll want to time this last section right too. As soon as a buzzsaw passes, jump and land on the wall right by where the saw was, then wall-jump the opposite direction and hit bandage girl. Whew! =============================================================================== [P2-1] The Commander! Part 1 Accessed from: 1-12 Bandages: 0 Strategy This level is just a basic "time your jumps" type of level. Remember to hold jump for longer jumps, and let it go for shorter jumps. You'll want to use short jumps over the flashing blocks. ------------------------------------------------------------------------------- [P2-2] The Commander! Part 2 Bandages: 0 Strategy This level is all about timing your jumps. Run at the first section, and jump right before you hit the left of the flashing bit. Jump for as long as you can without hitting the top, and right before you hit top, release the jump button. You'll fall through, in sort of an upside down V. Slide off the right side of the platform and press left as soon as you do. You should just barely make it to the lower level. Here, repeat the process from the top level to beat th' level. ------------------------------------------------------------------------------- [P2-3] The Commander! Level 3 Bandages: 0 Strategy This isn't as bad as it looks. Dash and jump to the left, and you'll find yourself sticking to the ceiling. Time this so you come to rest right over the center island. You'll fall right on it, then dash jump left again. Walljump up, and essentially repeat the process, sticking to the ceiling until you're right over the island. Beat this sucker, and you unlock Commander Video! =============================================================================== [P3-1] [Hand Held Hack] Level 1 Accessed From: 1-19 Bandages: 0 Strategy This is just a timing level. You can tell exactly where the buzzsaws are gonna fly because of the blocks that jut out. Jump beneath them, then walljump up and over as soon as the buzzsaws hit. If you start falling off the right side right as the buzzsaws hit, you should be able to make it down to band-aid girl in one clean fall. ------------------------------------------------------------------------------- [P3-2] [Hand Held Hack] Level 2 Bandages: 1 Strategy MOVE IT MOVE IT ON THE DOUBLE! This first part is a frantic race against time. You want to avoid sticking to the sides of the walls as much as possible, because that slows you down. If you'll notice down below, those buzzsaws are carving away at the floor you need to get the band-aid (which is halfway between the saw shooter and band-aid girl). I can typically made it right when the buzzsaw is destroying the block the band-aid is on. Grab the band-aid, doing some wall-jumping off the edge of the crumbling floor if necessary, and make the exit! ------------------------------------------------------------------------------- [P3-3] [Hand Held Hack Level 3] Bandages: 1 Strategy Jump to the center blocks and slide down until you hit the center island. The blocks should melt away, and you can dash-jump and wall-jump up to the middle level. There's no time limit for these levels, so don't be shy about waiting until the timing is right. You want to run into the narrow bit of the tunnel RIGHT after the buzz-saw passes by. Jump to avoid it as it flies by, and run to the next section. On the top level, one block to the right of the floor-based buzzsaws is always safe, so try to stand there. Be sure to grab the band-aid which comes right after the center floor-buzzsaw. Make it to your girl and you GONE. If you bought meat boy from steam, you get Head-Crab! Woo! =============================================================================== [P4-1] Space Boy Level 1 Accessed from: 1-13X Bandages: 0 Strategy This is a precision jumping level. The path is really clear (right, right, up, up, up), so I can't really say much besides remember that you want to get as much height as possible before dropping down and hitting the center of the blocks. ------------------------------------------------------------------------------- [P4-2] Space Boy Level 2 Bandages: 1 Strategy This is more of the same. There's no par time limit, so don't worry about not just walljumping from block to block- you can hit the side of them, then walljump up to the top. Look to the right of the fourth block you jump on: there's a band-aid. The easiest way is to slide down the right side of the fourth block, catch the band-aid in a wall-jump, then settle on top of the fourth block, and jump all the way back up. ------------------------------------------------------------------------------- [P4-3] Bandages: 1 Strategy Lots of walljumping in this section. If you have a choice (and you have a choice), try to take the upper path as opposed to the lower path. The reason for this is the band-aid right above band-aid girl at the end. Ideally you want to land on the floating crumbly block right in front of the band-aid, then make the leap to it, fall off that block, and hit your chica. =============================================================================== [P5-1] The Bootlicker! Level 1 Accessed from: 2-8 Bandages: 0 Strategy For this series of levels you are Jill. This is very important. While you are falling, press jump again to stop any downward momentum you have. This allows you to float long distances. This first level is just letting you get used to that. Leap out into the center of the spikes going down, put on the breaks halfway down and float down to the bottom. Also float over the next spikepit. ------------------------------------------------------------------------------- [P5-2] The Bootlicker! Level 2 Bandages: 0 Strategy A bunch of columns with spikes on the top. For each column, walljump off the right side of the previous column, then float over the spikes. This essentially repeats itself for all three levels. You can change direction while pressing jump a few times if you need to lower your elevation. ------------------------------------------------------------------------------- [P5-3] The Bootlicker! Level 3 Bandages: 0 Strategy For this last level, just keep pressing jump to slowly float down the spike blocks and it shouldn't be any trouble. The next column is a pretty straight- forward walljump to avoid the spikes, then repeat the first area's floating. Once all three areas are defeated, you unlock Jill! She will come in SUPER handy! =============================================================================== [P6-1] [Castle Crushers] Level 1 Accessed from: 2-12 Bandages: 1 Strategy This is a fairly typical buzzsaw type level. It shouldn't be any problem at all for you to walljump and avoid it. Make sure and grab the bandage in the left- most window. ------------------------------------------------------------------------------- [P6-2] [Castle Crushers] Level 2 Bandages: 1 Strategy The solid looking blocks are the ones that won't crumble when you hit them. Make sure you notice the bandage in the middle left window! Otherwise, this is just a regular jump-up type of level. Don't take out all the crumbly blocks at once! ------------------------------------------------------------------------------- [P6-3] [Castle Crushers] Level 3 Bandages: 0 Strategy This level can be kind of tricky. You want to be ready to walljump on the corridors that have buzzsaws the very INSTANT the saw passes overhead. Then it's a mad dash down the corridor to try to jump above the launcher before it fires again. It takes some coordination and practice but you'll get it! =============================================================================== [P7-1] The Blood Shed Level 1 Accessed from: 2-15 Bandages: 1 Strategy Your shed is under attack by lavathings! Crap! Jump up to the top level of the shed to get the key, then slide back down to bottom level. There are going to be two groups of four lavathings, and before you leave the hut you want them both to be inside. Once it's safe, run out, jump up the right wall, hop over your girl, and slide down the left wall to get the band-aid. Hop back up and grab her, and you're through! ------------------------------------------------------------------------------- [P7-2] The Blood Shed Level 2 Bandages: 0 Strategy I found this level to be a lot easier than the first one, if only because you know where all the lavathings are. Beware the block that's halfway in the lava though! There is a lavathing on it, but you can't see it until it's coming to get you. Just hop from box to box. ------------------------------------------------------------------------------- [P7-3] The Blood Shed Level 3 Bandages: 1 Strategy Quickly hop up the stairs! There are some lavathings gonna chase you right up it. When you get to the top, jump over to the right on that floating wall, and notice the band-aid to the right. Slide down the right side, then wall- jump and grab it. Return to the top of the wall, jump to the center, and follow the islands up to the lady. =============================================================================== [P8-1] (1977) Level 1 Accessed From: Level 2-5X Bandages: 1 Strategy This should be a familiar kind of level by now. You'll jump into the blocks in the middle of the level, the top three, and walljump back to the ledge you started from. When all three are erased, jump on top of the middle wall, and then jump to the next side from there. Look out for the band-aid on the top level, right after the center blocks. ------------------------------------------------------------------------------- [P8-2] (1977) Level 2 Bandages: 0 Strategy To start off with, wait until the two lasers fire, then jump down in between them and touch the crumbly wall to dissolve it. Jump over the incoming fire, and fall down to level two. Wait until the lasers fire, then jump down and touch the ground on either side. Jump over the incoming laser blast again, and fall down to level 3. Hide in the hole there if need be, and grab the gal. ------------------------------------------------------------------------------- [P8-3] (1977) Level 3 Bandages: 1 Strategy In case you get disoriented here (like I did), the black and maroon squares you can move through, the bright red squares are solid. You'll be doing a lot of wall-jumping, under fire here. Remember: Walljump while holding the move button towards the wall you just jumped off of to just get around the blasts, wall-jump not holding a directional key to get around overhangs. Don't just get B-A-G on the left side! Make sure you fall down all the way to get the band-aid first. =============================================================================== [P9-1] Cartridge Dump Level 1 Accessed from: Level 3-5 Bandages: 1 Strategy To get the band-aid here, you'll have to cling to the side of one of the two floating blocks and wall-jump off of it. You'll be able to snag the band-aid at the very top of the arc, and still make it to the other block. Get your lady. ------------------------------------------------------------------------------- [P9-2] Cartridge Dump Level 2 Bandages: 0 Strategy Same principle for completing this level as there was for getting the band-aid in the last one. You got to wall-jump to make it through. Jump from the very top of the lefthand wall, and you'll hit the right wall. Jump up to get yo ------------------------------------------------------------------------------- [P9-3] Cartridge Dump Level 3 Bandages: 1 Strategy Gonna sound like a broken record here, but this is ALL about wall-jumps. You'll need to jump off the very top right corner of your starting block to make it to the lefthand wall, walljump off the top-right corner of that to get the band-aid, and then you can just regular jump down to your princess. =============================================================================== [P10-1] Tunnel Vision Level 1 Accessed from: Level 3-7 Bandages: 1 Strategy To get the band-aid, slide down the left wall until the very bottom, then walljump without pressing a directional button. Once you get the band-aid, return quickly to the ledge. The next three buzzsaws should be taken slowly. Jump carefully over the first, go under the second, over the third. ------------------------------------------------------------------------------- [P10-2] Tunnel Vision Level 2 Bandages: 0 Strategy Just some more carefully timed jumps. Keep in mind that the second and the third jump only require a small tap on the jump button to get out. ------------------------------------------------------------------------------- [P10-3] Tunnel Vision Level 3 Bandages: 1 Strategy This is just a reversal of level one. Everything is the same, including how you have to get the band-aid, except that you need most of the wall intact to jump up, so don't break it all! =============================================================================== [P11-1] The Jump Man! Level 1 Accessed from: Level 3-16 Bandages: 0 Strategy This whole world is basically set up to show off Ogmo's double-jump, so use it to get over the spikes, and down to the lady. ------------------------------------------------------------------------------- [P11-2] The Jump Man! Level 2 Bandages: 0 Strategy Same kind of deal here. The spikes on the bottom require the most timing, give them a wide berth to make sure you get enough height to clear them. Past that just go slow and use your double jump for every jump. ------------------------------------------------------------------------------- [P11-3] The Jump Man! Level 3 Bandages: 0 Strategy The toughest one for Ogmo. Walljump out and use your double jump to hit the lefthand wall beneath the spikes. This gives you your double jump back, so walljump out, double jump back, repeat. =============================================================================== [P12-1] Kontra Level 1 Accessible from: Level 3-8X Bandages: 0 Strategy The trick to this level is to keep moving. Those missile launchers will be coming after you for basically the whole level. Keep away from them, and remember to try to move at right angles to them. If they are coming at you from above or below, move right or left, and vice versa. Drop down to the left to get the key, and the lady is on the top right. You might have to do some fancy walljumps off of the floating platforms. ------------------------------------------------------------------------------- [P12-2] Kontra Level 2 Bandages: 1 Strategy There are two keys, one on the top left, one on the top right. You'll want both of them. Time your jumps so that the missiles hit the wall below you. Getting the band-aid and getting the girl are accomplished in the same way- walljump to right below the buzzsaw, then walljump to the wall across from it, and slide up. Get the band-aid, get the girl, get ye hence! ------------------------------------------------------------------------------- [P12-3] Kontra Level 3 Bandages: 1 Strategy There are three keys you are interested in here- the bottom left one, which explodes the blocks you start on to reveal a band-aid (walljump off the nearby floating walls to get it), the bottom-right, which takes out one of the blocks between you and your woman, and the top-left one, which takes out the other set. Once you've got all those keys and the band-aid, fall down into her arms. =============================================================================== [P13-1] Brimstone Level 1 Accessible From: Level 4-8 Bandages: 0 Strategy Wait until the first and third lavaballs are in the air, then jump under to get past the first and third pits. For the second pit, just wait until the wave of fireballs has started, then jump behind it and ride it to victory. ------------------------------------------------------------------------------- [P13-2] Brimstone Level 2 Bandages: 1 Strategy This level LOOKS pretty crazy but I actually didn't have much of a hard time with it. Wait until you see a break in the lavaballs and jump to the left, sliding down the wall to grab the band-aid. When you see the same break in the action, jump back up, walljump up to the right, and slide down to the woman. ------------------------------------------------------------------------------- [P13-3] Brimstone Level 3 Bandages: 1 Strategy To start this level out, dash to your left, and jump at the last second to get the band-aid. Once back on the bottom level, stand all the way to the right, wait for the ball to roll over you, and jump up. Time your jumps, stand all the way to the left before jumping to the next level, and you'll make it to B-A-G before too long! =============================================================================== [P14-1] The Key Master Level 1 Bandages: 0 Strategy The trick to this level is getting onto the top of the block, then staying there, falling down the levels as the blocks go away, and jumping over the buzzsaws. ------------------------------------------------------------------------------- [P14-2] The Key Master Level 2 Bandages: 1 Strategy This is another walljump level. There are four keys circling, and one band-aid in the exact center. If you go down to the fifth block from the bottom and walljump, you can make it out to the band-aid in time and jump back to hit the wall. You'll get all the keys and the band aid lady too. ------------------------------------------------------------------------------- [P14-3] The Key Master Level 3 Bandages: 1 Strategy Head left immediately and walljump up. Try to end on the lip right between the two corridors. About a half-second after the right buzzsaw fires, follow it. You should hit bottom right before the bottom one fires, and you can head right. Once there, time your jumps to avoid the buzzsaws, and clear out all the crumblys. There is a band-aid in here, so break the bricks and find it! Once that's done with, it's more of the same buzzsaw-dodging to get out. =============================================================================== [P15-1] The Fly Guy! Level 1 Accessed From: Level 4-18 Bandages: 0 Strategy Ok this is your time as flywrench. It'll take some getting used to. You are a lot slower than normal, and your animation is bizarre, but you get a triple jump and you can slide up walls just by pressing against them and pressing jump. Slide up a wall here, and jump into the center to get band-aid girl. ------------------------------------------------------------------------------- [P15-2] The Fly Guy! Level 2 Bandages: 0 Strategy In this level slide down the wall, using your wallcling to keep your height if need be. Go up either side, using your triple-jump to get over the edges. ------------------------------------------------------------------------------- [P15-3] The Fly Guy! Level 3 This level is a bit like the others. You'll want to jump up, using one of the corners of the shooters as a springboard, and make it over the top. Jump down, and use your triple jump to glide to the center where your final woman is. =============================================================================== [P16-1] MMMMMM Level 1 Accessed From: Level 4-7X Bandages: 0 Strategy A series of precision jumps to start off with! Remember to take your finger off of the jump button when you get close enough to the top on the long jumps. It's pretty short, so no big deal. ------------------------------------------------------------------------------- [P16-2] MMMMMM Level 2 Bandages: 1 Strategy Walljumps are the big trick here. Remember that if you don't hold the directional button towards the wall you just jumped from, you can do a jump that's long enough to clear the big jut-outs. To scale the flashing stuff in the middle, do a jump from one wall to the other that ends right about even with the flashing. You should slide above it. Another jump from one side to the other gets the band-aid. ------------------------------------------------------------------------------- [P16-3] MMMMMM Level 3 Bandages: 1 Strategy This one can be tricky before you figure it out. Two huge blinking blocks fire from the corners. Predict where they are coming from, don't be on the very edge of the path when the do fire, and you'll do fine. There is no way the blocks can hit you where the band-aid is, so before getting your ragtime gal, jump over her, get the bandage, then jump back up and finish the level. =============================================================================== [P17-1] The Skyscraper Level 1 Accessed From: Level 5-1 Bandages: 0 Strategy There are two main parts to this level- the dodging of falling buzzsaws and jumping over spikes. The spikes are pretty simple as long as you take it slowly, and remember to lightly tap the jump button. Just the lightest tap will get you over all the spikes in this level. Jumping the buzzsaws isn't too bad, until you've got the final key and are jumping up the walls and have to jump right between the two of them. Try to give it a few inches of space, and tap the directional button towards the wall you came from. It might take a few tries! ------------------------------------------------------------------------------- [P17-2] The Skyscraper Level 2 Bandages: 1 Strategy This is a devilishly tricky jump and avoid level, where you'll have to get adept at knowing exactly the right amount to just barely avoid hitting the spikes. To get past the long spikes, start from a block or two below the cross-beam, and jump almost to the top. Once you get to the top, slide to the right and get the key, then slide alllll the way back down. There will be a hidden way to go. Don't think about trying to walljump back up that way either- that's what the spikes are for! You'll have to re-do the level, but you'll get the band-aid. ------------------------------------------------------------------------------- [P17-3] The Skyscraper Level 3 Bandages: 1 Strategy Just another jump over the spikes type level. It's all gravy until you have to run and jump very quickly over the raised floor level, or the buzzsaw that normally passes over you will splat you! Make sure and grab the band-aid by the exit by jumping veeeery carefully right up to the band-aid. =============================================================================== [P18-1] The Guy! level 1 Accessed From: Level 5-7 Bandages: 0 Strategy These levels introduce you to The Kid, from I Want to be the Guy. He's a double jumper, but doesn't suffer from the speed penalty that Ogmo does. In short, he's just simply a better meat boy. These levels are all about using the double jump to its fullest. In this first level, don't be shy about using it every time you do a walljump on the vertical tunnel. It might take a couple tries, but you'll get the timing down. Remember, for precision jumping using a double jump can help you get RIGHT where you want to be! ------------------------------------------------------------------------------- [P18-2] The Guy! Level 2 Bandages: 0 Strategy This level is tough! It took me many tries to get through it. There are two basic strategies. If you are on the outside shafts, the spikes are relatively far apart, and you should stay in the middle, skittering back and forth once you get past the spikes. On the inside levels, run back and forth more drastically, dashing from one side of the platform to the other once the bottom of your platform touches the spikes you just passed. ------------------------------------------------------------------------------- [P18-3] The Guy! Level 3 Bandages: 0 Strategy The toughest of the three levels! The spikes will come FLYING at you, and the only way to dodge them is by being at the very tip top of your jump when they come. You'll want to jump over them while at a small running start so you can move right while jumping on the first and third levels, and stand still and run while the spikes are past on the second level. Complete this bear and The Kid will be all yours! =============================================================================== [P19-1] Sunshine Island Level 1 Accessed From: Level 5-12 Bandages: 1 Strategy If you do a dash jump waaaay to the right you can catch the ledge right under the buzzsaw. Walljump from there and you'll make it over the saw, grabbing the band-aid in the process! This is honestly just about as easy as moving through the bottom island. Jump over the top of the island, and observe the hollow island to the right. Fall down between the two buzzsaws but be moving to the right or left to get past the second middle buzzsaw. Walljump when you're under it to get in the middle again. Jump back up, sliding past the second buzzsaw, and you'll get to the top. From there it's simple getting to princepessa. ------------------------------------------------------------------------------- [P19-2] Sunshine Island Level 2 Bandages: 0 Strategy For this second level, jump to the small walls to the left or right, and from them walljump onto the center island. Climb to the top, and you'll have to drop down and dodge the buzzsaws as the floor breaks. It's annoying, but nothing you haven't been doing for hours now. Once you grab the key the walls around B-A-G will break, but so will the key islands near her. Don't worry though, you can still walljump from the walls to the left and right to her. ------------------------------------------------------------------------------- [P19-3] Sunshine Island Level 3 Bandages: 1 Strategy An easy way to finish this level, though it takes some practice, is to jump off of one-block wall that's before the breakable walls to the right. If you walljump there you can catch the wall higher up where the band-aid is, grabbing it and jumping up the gap in the floor to get the key. Now fall back down, break the wall, jump up moving counter-clockwise, and get through the leftmost breakable wall by wallsliding and jumping. Get into there, avoid the spikes, and close the chapter on Sunshine Island! =============================================================================== [P20-1] Meat is Death Level 1 Accessed From: Level 5-20X Bandages: 1 Strategy As you might suspect, the propellers in this level push Meat Boy upwards. Start by going left and getting the key from inside that building, then jump to one square over the starting platform's position on the right wall, and slide down. This should let you slide right under the wall and up onto the other side. Delicately walljump up and grab the band-aid before climbing high on this wall, and sliding down using the same trick as before to pass to the next wall. From here, grab the next key, and jump up and over the ceiling of the level to move on. ------------------------------------------------------------------------------- [P20-2] Meat is Death Level 2 Bandages: 1 (NUMBER 100 WOOO!!!) Strategy This section is just one trick repeated three times. First, climb down, jump the gears, and get the key. Remember to use the "mash against the ceiling to jump over the floor gears" trick. Once the fan is open, use it to propel you up to get the band-aid, then to the next level. The remainder of this level is just using the "jump gears, get key, ride fan" trick, until the last time the fan becomes a girl. Just like magic. ------------------------------------------------------------------------------- [P20-3] Meat is Death Level 3 Bandages: 0 Strategy For this final level, the key is not to let the fans blow you up too far, or you'll have too much momentum going downward and get diced up by the fans. Slide down the left wall, jump onto the fan, and get blown upward, until you're just over the buzzsaw. Catch the next fan, wallclimb up the right side, and grab the key. Repeat the process in reverse, then it's just a simple series of jumps over the buzzsaws to your lady. And that's that! Congratulations on beating all the portal levels! =============================================================================== [NGW] Negative Wooooooorld Are you ready for the ULTIMATE CHALLENGE? These levels are tough as nails. There is one per world. To find them, enter just a normal easy level, and die over and over until you see band-aid girl start to look glitchy and make weird beeping sounds. Grab her like normal then, and you'll be transported into a world somewhat like the portal worlds. Like portal worlds, you get 3 lives, but unlike them, there is only one area. Also unlike them, it is INSANELY hard. ------------------------------------------------------------------------------- [NW1] -1 |> ._. |> Strategy Ok this is totally doable, so just focus! For the first series of columns, the thing to keep in mind is that as long as you are continuously moving towards the wall you are currently on, you can walljump off of it, over a buzzsaw, AND miss the spikes on the other side. That should get you to the top of that first tower. Make a small hop off and try to hit the left side of the floating wall. Jump to the other side of it, and hop to the next one. Continue this until you get to the right tower. You can walljump up the left side of it to see what you're in for. It's nothing special, just some frenetic jumping. Keep your eyes on the top of the screen, and when you see a buzzsaw coming towards you just jump to the other wall. This will carry you to the top! ------------------------------------------------------------------------------- [NW2] -2 |> ._. |> Bandages: 0 Strategy Head to the right immediately, and hop up to the level with the buzzsaws shooting at you. Be cautious here, you want to get their rhythm before you progress. You should be albe to use the fact that they fire asymmetircally to your advantage, and clear them. This whole next section is about using the fans. Remember what you've learned from the levels before- you want to jump on them right near the base. For the third and final one, ride it up and slightly to the right so as not to hit the spikes. This one was easier than the first one, at least for me! ------------------------------------------------------------------------------- [NW3] -3 |> ._. |> Bandages: 0 Strategy It's helpful if you can drop down the first shaft without wallsliding, because then you can catch the platform over and up quickly, without having to worry about the missiles circling you. Once you are on the platform going up, the missiles should miss. Wait until you're at the top, then jump left to the horizontal platform, jump left again to have the missiles hit the wall, and walljump back to the wall on the right. The top of it will be open now, and you'll HAVE to fall through without hitting the spikes. On the other side is an area pretty much identical to the one you just came out of so... do the same things. In the tower to the right of this area is your own band-aid girl, so slide down there and get her! ------------------------------------------------------------------------------- [NW4] -4 |> ._. |> Bandages: 0 Strategy I actually didn't have too much trouble with this level! It may look daunting, but with a little luck you'll be able to get it down without too much trouble. First jump far to the right, and walljump off the island there. You'll be walljumping up this whole section, a good rule of thumb is to always jump to the next highest level. Once you're to the top you need to jump exactly into the spikepit- even a little bit of variation to the right or left will spike you. This is probably the toughest part. Edge to the right as you fall and you'll be near a series of columns that make you jump to avoid lavaballs- jump as soon as the one going up is past your jumping area, and get into the nook. Just be quick and repeat that going up and down and this section shouldn't be bad. If you can get past that, the last bit is just jumping over lavaballs, and you've had plenty of practice at that. A full-speed jump should get you over both of the balls travelling together on the top level. Then it's the lady! ------------------------------------------------------------------------------- [NW5] -5 |> ._. |> I actually found this to be the easiet of the negative world missions. Maybe I had been playing long enough that I had some more skills than normal? Anyway, it's a race up one building, out the middle, down between them, and up the other one. Through it all there will be spikes on the walls, and missile launchers shooting at you. Remember to get around the spikes to use the slide beneath them, then walljump and slide up the opposite side trick. Don't just jump as soon as you're able to, either. What you want to do is time your jumps so they avoid the missile fire, so jump RIGHT about when the missile is on you. ------------------------------------------------------------------------------- [NW6] -6 |> ._. |> This one you will be dashing about the entire time, because of the spikes coming towards you. A good right-facing jump should clear you of the first two saw cannons. The next part, with buzzsaws shooting down, requires some timing but gets much easier when you get into the middle or right of it. Wait until the platform comes for you, and ride it over. The last obstacle to your girl is a dang missile launcher, but you've come this far, and won't let that stop you. Let it fire once, then quickly wallump up and grab her! =============================================================================== [SRT] Secrets Guide (Bandages, warp zones, character unlock levels) Alright time for the nitty gritty. You don't necessarially want to know HOW to get all the bandages and warps, but you want to know WHERE they are. Detailed strategies for getting all the secrets can be found in the walkthrough section for the specific levels. ------------------------------------------------------------------------------- [BAG] Band-Aid Guide There are 11 band-aids in the light world, 9 in the dark, for a total of 20 per world. Have a level you think is particularly hard? Want to know how to do a certain trick better? Want to know where something in particular is? Let me know, and the most common questions I'll put here! =============================================================================== [RKS] Closing Remarks/Credit/Help Out First off, credit where it's due! I didn't use any walkthroughs for this game, but diygamer has an excellent guide to achievements and band-aids that I used on a couple occasions to locate one that I had a hard time finding. Props you guys! Whew! This ended up being WAY bigger than I thought it was going to be, but I think in the end it is a total walkthrough to one of the hardest platformers out there. I hope it helps everybody! I don't have any major revision plans for this walkthrough, but I'll certainly update content with any suggestions you guys have. About that... So: How much do I love you guys? 6423 deaths worth. =============================================================================== [CPW] Copywight Because I find including copyrights on privately published online FAQS silly, at least until people start paying me to do this, I will simply say that the use of this document without crediting me will cause wights to haunt you. Specifically, the copywights. They HATE people who steal stuff. As long as you give me credit, use away!
