Expect anything pirate to be way overcostly, so be funded if you plan to go far. Another sidenote will be that everything else will drop in price, so this will benefit all the non-Pirates. -P2A-------------------------------------------------------------- This guide may not be reproduced under any circumstances except for personal/private use. One of its divisions depends more on DEX, while the other needs more STR.) If youre planning on making the Knuckle user, an Infighter, heres what you need: *INFIGHTER:* DEX = LVL + 5 STR = All other SP And if youre planning on the Gun wielding Gunslinger, your going to need *GUNSLINGER* STR = LVL DEX = All other SP So plan ahead With all the other standard class guides, try to land a 4/4 on INT and LUK, but a 5/4 or a 4/5 will work for you lazy people too. -P3C- ----Pirate Skill allocation---- Here are the skills: -=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=- Quick Motion [Passive, 20]: -=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=- Description: Similar to Nimble Body Level 1: Increases Accuracy +1, and Avoidability +1 Level 2: Increases Accuracy +2, and Avoidability +2 Level 3: Increases Accuracy +3, and Avoidability +3 Level 4: Increases Accuracy +4, and Avoidability +4 Level 5: Increases Accuracy +5, and Avoidability +5 Level 6: Increases Accuracy +6, and Avoidability +6 Level 7: Increases Accuracy +7, and Avoidability +7 Level 8: Increases Accuracy +8, and Avoidability +8 Level 9: Increases Accuracy +9, and Avoidability +9 Level 10: Increases Accuracy +10, and Avoidability +10 Level 11: Increases Accuracy +11, and Avoidability +11 Level 12: Increases Accuracy +12, and Avoidability +12 Level 13: Increases Accuracy +13, and Avoidability +13 Level 14: Increases Accuracy +14, and Avoidability +14 Level 15: Increases Accuracy +15, and Avoidability +15 Level 16: Increases Accuracy +16, and Avoidability +16 Level 17: Increases Accuracy +17, and Avoidability +17 Level 18: Increases Accuracy +18, and Avoidability +18 Level 19: Increases Accuracy +19, and Avoidability +19 Level 20: Increases Accuracy +20, and Avoidability +20 -=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-= First Strike [Active, 20]: -=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-= Description: Punches an enemy once. Dash is actually a buffed down way of the mage teleport, and works by double tapping the arrow key. This will become a habit for you and you will dash everywhere later on. I didnt max First strike, because even though it hits 230% damage, the back flip hits 130% to 6 enemies. This allows for huge mobbing. First strike is basically the warrior power strike, and only hits one enemy. Feel free to replace it with back flip kick, but I personally think back flip kick is more handy. ------------------------------------------------------ -P4C- Now along the lines of a Bowman/Assassin mix, your ranged pirate - the Gunslinger /GUNSLINGER\ PIRATE LVL_SP_SKILL 10 _+1_Dash 11_+3_Double Shot 12_+3_Double Shot 13_+3_Double Shot 14_+3_Double Shot 15_+3_Double Shot 16_+3_Double Shot 17_+2_Double Shot (MAX) ___+1_Quick Motion 18_+3_Quick Motion 19_+3_Quick Motion 20_+3_Quick Motion 21_+3_Quick Motion 22_+3_Quick Motion 23_+3_Quick Motion 24_+1_Quick Motion (MAX) ___+2_Dash 25_+3_Dash 26_+3_Dash 27_+1_Dash (MAX) ___+2_Backflip Kick 28_+3_Backflip Kick 29_+3_Backflip Kick 30_+3_Backflip Kick ------------------------------------------------------------------------- You can see the similarities, but the Gunslinger can perform all of his/her attacks way faster, meaning dash is a huge help too. Being a ranged attacker, the accuracy bonus on Quick Motion helps, while double shot is basically a powered down faster lucky seven. The gunslinger is the fastest class in the game, and its 4th job has the most interesting skill I have ever seen. ------------------------------------------------------------------------- -P5A- So thats it for our first Pirate job, lets get cracking on the second job... Excited? You should be! -/\- -\/- For the Second Job Advancement, return to Kairin at level 30. When you agree to take the 2nd job test, you will enter a map with a number of conveyor belts and a large number of octopus monsters. You must kill the octopus monsters with (your normal attack...?) when taking the Infighter test and with Double Shot when taking the Gunslinger test. If you can't hit the octopus with your main attacking skill, you'll know you're taking the wrong test! Continually defeat the Octopuses until you have collected all 15 of the items and then return to Kairin. You will depart the training room and be on the Bridge once more. Talk to Kairin again to complete the job advancement. ///2nd JOBS!\\\ -P5B- Alright, chosen the Infighter? If not scroll down below all this towards the Gunslinger. The infighter: a hyped cross Bandit/Page/Dragon knight If you choose to be Low Dex, you could deal the most damage in the game, but with all the same set backs, plus you need 20 Dex in the first place, to become a Pirate, you need to be heavily funded, and have buying smarts too. You need to scroll everything regularly, so if your still a beginner at scrolling, dont bother going low-Dex, besides, this new class should still prove to be exciting, without trying low-Dex. Also, there wont be any maple guns and knuckles until the next anniversary, which might be around the same time that the pirate is actually released with the way these patches are going. You have all the buffs early on, which makes for a great standard attacker, and from what I have found out a combo Screw Punch/Backwards blow Is one of the best attacks, when your at 70 Screw Punch + Backwards blow + Double uppercut = MASS MOB DAMAGE + GODLY SINGLE DAMAGE. All of these attacks include the knuckle booster, with the mastery, to provide the best damage possible.Later on, you should have enough HP to make MP recovery very effective, which pretty much eliminates MP pots. Dont really bother with Oak barrel, you can if you want, but its just a nerfed Dark sight that fails horribly in big mobs. Screw punch takes a charge, but from what I have read, its only a second to two seconds, and its highly worth it at 420% to 3 monsters. If youre a beginner, or even a Veteran, I highly recommend this build. ----------------------------------------------------------------------------- -P5C- Ah, the Gunslinger, if you wanted the infighter instead, you should scroll back up, other than that lets get started. The Gunslinger: a hyped Assassin/Sniper/mage with crazy speed This is the class that I chose personally myself, so its the most in-Depth. To begin with, lots of people hate the Gunslinger, saying its an Assassin rip- off, and all the lovers of the Gunslinger counter with its godly speed, so lets take a step back and look at it. Yes, it has bullets that recharge like an assassin, Yes its probably going to replace the assassin as being THE kser, No, it doesnt have the same damage as an assassin, and in fact its damage sucks at the early stage, T.T. BUT IT HAS THE SPEED OF THE GODS! Its the fastest class. Period. It is a ranged fighter, and as we all know, they will do less damage than full- out Physical fighters, but the enemies cant get you can they!? It works like Flash jump, allowing for effective battle strategies, and fast returning after a huge amount of damage. The buffs came after, and then I had a dilemma between Fatal Bullet and Decoy, but ended up going with decoy because of the stun damage. Bomb Toss is useless with decoy, and is hard to get used too. Bomb toss and decoy work almost the same damage, but decoy gives a stun, which helps allot more. Run in battle- Decoy stun- Withdraw outta there- spam Fatal Bullet or Bomb toss.Dont forget that your standard double shot is still extremely fast, and your standard attack will be boosted with your gun booster. The gunslinger is my new favourite class, with priest following, then dark knight. The speed of this guy is just... insane. -P6A------------------------------------------------------------------------ Training Spots Levels 10-20 \Slimes/ In these early levels, slimes are great. The infighter build soon finds that he/she can take slimes out with one kill. A gunslinger can soon ks them, and scare people away. There are two good places to train on slimes, 1:The slime tree in Ellinia -This is at a map that is the 3rd map south of Ellinia. At the far left side there are trees that have black holes in them - press the up arrow at these, and soon you'll find the Slime Tree. But apparently everyone already knows about the slime tree, so it can get crouded 2:Henesys Hunting ground I -Find an empty channel or a spot with one person and spawn kill em all. The spawn is excellent here, although it can get a little crowded. Levels 20-25 \Orange mushrooms|Pigs/ You really have a choice here, for the serious Infighters, pig beach might be the right choice for you, but the newer gunslingers might want to stick to Orange mushrooms. Kerning city is a great spot for the mushrooms, and pig beach is located at the map "Split Road"which is where the roads from Henesys, Kerning and Lith Harbor meet. I'massuming you're coming to Pig Beach from Henesys, so you're starting on the rightmost side of the area. Travel until you see the last ladder, which will be at the leftern side. Go up it and travel a bit to the right, and you'll see a patch of yellow flowers. Press up here and you'll be at Pig Beach. Levels 25-30 \Kerning Pq|Pigs|Ant tunnel/ Try the kerning PQ. Surprisingly many people want a pirate on their team, so you'll probably be picked up fast. another option would be to stick with pigs. Gunslingers should be able to handle pigs now, and Infighters should have no problem. easy exp. If you really feel that your bored of pigs, you can probably try the beginning of Ant tunnel, but you would need to bring some pots, and a return scroll outta there. *Class Change d(^_^)b hurrah* Levels 30-50 \Monster carnival|Ant tunnel/ All the answers for you are in the monster carnival, its the best exp at these levels, and it has great beneifits if you play smart. Because of your new Job status, you'll probably be picked up fast. Rank Win Exp Lose Exp A 30,000 10,000 B 25,500 8,500 C 21,000 7,000 D 7,000 1,000 If you collect maple coins, buy a spiegalmen necklace, and scroll it full with the marbles, i have seen some sell for a good 25m (fully scrolled). So its great money, great exp.If you seriously SERIOUSLY hate Pq'ing then keep on the Ant tunnel, but i wouldnt recommend it levels 50-70 By now, your class starts to shine. Try the ludi maze Pq, or you could go kill red drakes. By now, its really up to you, and you can pretty much kill what you want. ---------------------------------------------------------------------------- -P7A- -Updates- -Released in KMS (korean version), a few videos are circling on youtube. just type in"maplestory gunslinger" or vice-versa with infighter for some sweet videos. -so it seems that a few translations got loose over ther internet, and im sure for gunslinger that decoy might be called invisible shot. A few other names were released for the different skills also, but they will be updated along with the game patches, and/or hidden-street updated translations. -I just recently found out more about the rechargable bullets, it seems you can add elements to them (fire, water etc) to infuse mp and an element with each shot, for increased elemental damage. pretty cool eh? -They recently changed the names of the 3rd and 4th job pirates - Boxers - Buccaneers - Sharpshooters - Valkyries - Captains - Vipers - Outcasters - Captains -rumors? or facts? pirates to be released with 0.59 (rumor?) -P8A------------------------------------------------------------------------ This guide is created by Valenthyne, with the help of many online resources such as / -Basil Market -Hidden street -General Google information -Wikipedia A special thanks goes out to -Azure2112 for drawing my ASCII -Gamefaqs, and any other websites, for hosting this guide *and specially* YOU!
