1) Introduction
=================================================
This guide is simply to help all you people starting MapleStory. I will be guiding you through Maple Island, which you will
be a Beginner, and then you are free to do as you choose. I do not want anybody to to start blaming me
because I "Screwed up a beginner." Especially since you have a free choice not or to follow this guide.

2) Downloading the client
=================================================
This is one of the most easiest things to do. Go to www.maplestory.com and select your version.
Click it, then go to "GAME DOWNLOAD" and download the game.

3) Starting the game
=================================================
So you've downloaded the client blah blah blah. If you have firewalls installed on your computor. Either
turn them off, or put MapleStory as an exception. Start up MapleStory, and select your world, and channel.
Now if you have charecters in that server already, they will be there, otherwise, click "Create a Charecter"
Now you pop up to a screen that has a plain Beginner, which you can customize to your liking. On the right,
you choose your name, and stats. Make sure to press "CHECK" to make sure your name isin't already taken.
Now the stat roll. Below the name section, there are 4 stats which look like this:
STR
DEX
INT
LUK
These are your base stats. If you see below them, there happens to be a dice. Click it and it will re-roll
your stats. I'll be nice and allow you to choose your class early. Below will be the things you need to roll
for a class.
If you plan to be a Warrior, roll your stats like so:
STR: *
DEX: *
INT: 4/5
LUK: 4/5
You need a 4/5, 4/4, or 5/5 roll to get the best outcome of your Warrior. The reason behind this is because
Warrior's specialize in STR(Strength), and they need DEX(Dexterity) to hit stuff. Make sure your STR is higher
then your DEX though.
If you plan to be a Bowman, roll your stats like so:
STR: *
DEX: *
INT: 4/5
LUK: 4/5
You need a 4/5, 4/4, or 5/5 roll to get the best outcome of your Bowman. Bowmen need DEX to hit things with
bows, plus the DEX determines the power of a bowman's attack. STR is needed to breeze through Maple Island(keep STR at 30)
If you plan to be a Magician, roll your stats like so:
STR: 4/5
DEX: 4/5
INT: *
LUK: *
Same reasons as above. Magician's need nothing to do with STR and DEX. They need a heck load of INT(Intelligence) if they want
to do a lot of damage. LUK(Luck) helps because when they die, they lose less EXP, and they might avoid things.
Make sure your INT is higher then LUK(note that your LUK needs to be your Level + 3)
Lastly, the Theif. I give xChrome of Supercheats.com credit because I have no clue how the Theif goes
except Attack-wise that is.
STR: 4-5
DEX: *
INT: 4-5
LUK: *
Reasons being, the Theif uses LUK to calculate the damage. They don't need Stength or Intelligence..
After you've rolled your desired stats, it's time to start the game. Onwards to Maple Island!

4.1) Maple Island
=================================================
So you've started the game, rollled your stats, yadda yadda yadda. Gladly you've stepped foot on Maple Island.
You see a lady with a Lightbulb over her head.(strange game eh?) Double Click on her, and follow her instructions. It
gets you QUICK EXP,(Experience Points) these are called Quests. I suggest you do all available on Maple Island.
Run around and use CTRL to attack monsters and gain EXP. When you level up you get AP(Ability Points) to put into 3 skills
which I will discuss later. When you make the Job Advancement(after this stupid Island.) you get 5 SP(Skill Points)
I bet you happen to be wondering, "I wanna be a Mage, when should I get off the Island?" or
"I wanna be a Bowman, Warrior, or Theif, when should I get off?" Glad you asked. Since Magician's have the
toughest time with the Island, train till Level 8, and get your butt off that Island. If you wanna be another class, get off
at Level 10.

4.2) Beginner Skills

Here are the Skills that a Beginner gets:
Name: Three Snails
Description: Hurls a snail shell to deal damage.
Name: Recovery
Description: Recovers HP over time.
Name: Nimble Feet
Description: Increases your speed for a short time.
Now for the Skill Tables:

Three Snails Master Level: 3
Hurls snail shells to attack monsters from a long distance.
Level 1: Snail Shell -1, MP -10, Damage 10
Level 2: Blue Snail Shell -1, MP -15, Damage 25
Level 3: Red Snail Shell -1, MP -20, Damage 40
Recovery Master Level: 3
Enables the user to recover hp constantly for 30 seconds
(Terms between skills: 10 minutes)
Level 1: MP -10, Recover Hp 24 in 30 seconds
Level 2: MP -20, Recover Hp 48 in 30 seconds
Level 3: MP -30, Recover Hp 72 in 30 seconds
Nimble Feet Master Level: 3
Enables the character to move around quickly for a short amount of time
(Terms between skills: 15)
Level 1: MP -10, Speed +10 for 4 seconds
Level 2: MP -15, Speed +15 for 8 seconds
Level 3: MP -20, Speed +20 for 12 seconds

5) Beginner Builds
=================================================
Yes, zomg there is more then one Beginner build!
Beginners only get 6 AP total, Level 1-7, 1 AP per level. So that means you can max 2 skills, or just go Hybrid(Which is stupid anyway)
For a warrior, take this damn build:
1- Recovery 1
2- Recovery 1
3- Recovery 1
4- Nimble Feet 1
5- Nimble Feet 1
6- Nimble Feet 1
My reason behind this is because:
Warrior's specialize in Strength, and not INT, so you don't have a lot to waste on Three Snails.
You might be recovering a lot, so Recovery helps. Nimble Feet is better then Three Snails.
For a Magician, take this build:
1- Recovery 1
2- Recovery 1
3- Recovery 1
4- Three Snails 1
5- Three Snails 1
6- Nimble Feet 1
As a Beginner, you won't have Mage powers, so Three Snails at Level 3 launches a Red Snail Shell,
which a Mage without Magic can't hunt. But they can hunt Green Snails and Blue Snails insted. Nimble Feet
is a stupid filler.
For a Bowman, take the same build as a Warrior, same reason's apply, and the same goes for a Theif.

6) Tips, Strategies, and more while leveling
=================================================
So Maple Island, only 5 Monsters to hunt, whoopie. The highest EXP you can get for killing a monster is 15,
from a big Orange Mushroom, not the tiny Shrooms. Wow, we have a lot of options. Warrior's use STR, which is a breeze
on Maple Island. Bowman need 30 STR to breeze through the Island as well. That leaves Mages and Theives. Oh dear.
Well, Mages, you can hunt Red Snails and Orange Mushrooms, but that takes WAY too long, so why bother? You have 4-5 STR, good luck.
Theives, meh, they have a little trouble. Unless you wanna be a Strength Theif, Maple Island will be a little tough.
Here's my suggested places to train for leveling:
Levels 1-5: Quests, Jr. Sentinel place, Snail Hunting Ground I, Snail Hunting Ground II, Snail Hunting Ground III
Levels 5-8: More quests, Field West of Amherest
Levels 8-10: Quests, if any left, Tomato Field, Mushroom Field
