4 - New Characters
---------------------------

Ein Selnert
The 1st Knight of Dominion and the leader of the Star Grail Knights, she is
also the original model for the protagonist of the novel series Carnelia.
Actual powers and abilities are unknown, however everyone who knows her
holds her in great respect. Her nickname is "Carnelia", and she was the
instructor of both Kevin and later Ries back when they were knights in
training.

Lechter Arundel
Lechter is not a part of the main quest. He exists in the game as part of
Klose's moon door, as well as making an appearance in Olivier/Muller's star
door. Lechter is a lazy and careful senior student at Jenis Academy, who
somehow managed to become the previous president of the student council.
However despite the carefree and lackluster appearance, a sharp mind and
secrets beyond face value is suggested. After Lechter left Jenis Academy, he
was next seen working as the personal assistant of Girias Osborn, and seems
to know much of the inner workings of the Iron Blooded Vizar. It is strongly
suggested that Lechter will play a key role in the up and coming "Legend of
Heroes 7".

Erika Russel
Tita's mother and daughter of the genius scientist Professor Russel. Erika
has a quick temper, a sharp tongue, and does not hesitate to use either. She
does not get along with her father, but totally adores Tina as well as all
other "cute" things. While she is usually very serious, she becomes very
competitive against her father on scientific inventions, and enters "Destroy
mode" with glowing eyes whenever Agate is mentioned.

Joe Russel
Husband to Erika and father to Tita, he gives the impression of strong,
reliable and steadiness, something that surely works well with Erika as a
partner. Generally a bit less soft spoken than his wife, he is a fellow
scientist on the same level as Erika and Professor Russel. 10 years ago Joe
used to be a bracer, but had to give it up due to a severe injury. It should
be noted that Joe was the teacher for Cassius when he gave up the sword and
took up the staff.

Girias Osborn
The fabled "Iron Blooded Vizar" of the Erebonia empire, a genius politician
who, using blitzkrieg and heavyhanded tactics manipulated the Empire to take
over several free states. Has the utmost confidence of the Emperor and
controls 70% of the Empire military, Osborn was mentioned numerous times in
SC but never shown.

Gilbert Stein
Remember him? He was the secretary of the Ruan mayor back in FC, thrown into
jail for collaborating with the mysterious men in black, later revealed as
the intel corps. During the chaos of the coup d'etat and the subsequent
Bracer attack, he escaped, only to come back as a minor boss aboard Glorius
in SC, having joined the Ouroborous. During the sidequest of the captured
Jenis Academy, he was defeated by your guys but saved by Performer 0,
Campanella.
In the 3rd, Gilbert comes back again, and totally deserves an honourary
mention for being the GREATEST character ever, with his stereo archetype,
classic lines and personality. His soliloquy in the final chapter is EPIC.

Schwarzritter
The name in German means literally "Black Knight", a suitable alias for his
appearance. Of course with that sword and hair, I wonder who he is indeed.

Lord of Phantasma
The antagonist of the game, a villain wrapped in mysterious whose true
identity is revealed late game. The Lord entered Phantasma and wrested
control, and dragged Kevin, Ries and many of their companions into Phantasma
for some yet unknown purposes.

---------------------------
5 - Legend
---------------------------
This game, being Japanese, uses a lot of Japanese specific ways of
communication including honorifics, suffixes and a lot of
expressions/emoticons not very often seen in the West, and unless you are a
fan of Japanese pop culture, more specifically Japanese games, manga (comics)
or anime (cartoons), some terms and symbols I use may seem unfamiliar. Below
are the explanations of they mean. If you find a term I used in the main
walkthrough that I have not explained, just email me and I will credit you
and fix the problem.

-dono => Japanese suffix that confers utmost respect, usually reserved for
feudal lords and nobles. Ries starts off addressing Kevin as "Graham-dono",
or "Sir Graham" in the closest equivalent. While this confers respect, if
used between friends or those with intimate relationships, it can be seen as
insulting, or in Kevin's case uncomfortable, being called in such a
respectful but distant way.

-sama => Japanese suffix/honorific, usually deferential and meaning that you
respect the person being addressed as so, however is not as respecting as -
dono. Used usually for those of a higher social position.

Onee/nee-san/sama => Onee or simply nee means older sister. -san is an
honorific equivalent of Miss/Ms/Mrs in English, which -sama confers more
respect. Whenever Kevin and Ries refers to their onee-san, they are
referring to their dead elder sister, blood related for Ries, non-blood
related to Kevin although he treats her just like family.

6.1 - Chapter 0 - The Star Grail Knights (Gralz Ritter)
---------------------------

Septian Calender Year 1203
Approximately half a year after the Liber Arc incident,
Above the Erebonian Empire airspace
Lanford company's new model luxury airship Lusitania

The Legend of Heroes -
Sora no Kiseki the 3rd

It's a party aboard the airship, and it seems like a masquerade ball is the
dress code as everyone is masked. The host gathers everyone's attention and
starts a speech, thanking everyone for attending this party hosted by the
GENLAD company, which is to commemorate the GENLAD company's 10th birthday.
The host then asks the man of the hour to come say a few words.

We are centred on a masked man (our HERO) and woman standing along the side.
The woman comments on how boring the speech is, but for the sake of
formality he should at least pretend to be listening, since he must know
about the key person of the party. The masked man replies that it's HELLMAN
GENLAD, an opportunist who used the Hundred Day War as a springboard to
gather riches and catapult himself into the forefront of the business world,
one of the few notable merchants in the business world with the nickname
"Merchant of death" for his dealings in weaponry. From a few years ago he
started cooperating with the Lanford company and has since become it's
director. Masked man then notes that although HELLMAN's resume is very
impressive, the real person leaves the audience a little disappointed, but
pudgy and balding. Masked lady is surprised that the masked man can say such
things, for even if they had masks on, he'd still get targeted by the men in
black (MIB) stationed everywhere on the ship for such a remark. Masked man
laughs and says that someone like him will probably get kicked off the ship,
straight through the window. Masked lady finds the man interesting and
wonders if perhaps he was a reporter, or maybe even a politician. Masky
laughs the question off, and looks about in wonderment, for its hard to
imagine such a ballroom a few miles in the air. Lady says that it DID get
publicized as the world's largest airship, to which Masky fills her in that
the entire ship is 120m long, and it is the largest ship, at least on the
surface world (he means the world everyone sees). Lady smiles and remarks
that even though he's so young, he's already so used to playing the game
since he's using ambiguous and mysterious references to gain women's
attention. Masky concedes, and says that he'd better make an escape before
she figures out more truths about him. The lady seems very interested in
this interesting fellow, and invites him to talk afterwards. It's seldom
that a chance comes to talk with someone you don't even know the face of, so
afterwards why don't they talk s-l-o-w-l-y in his room. Masky answers that
if he can fool the Goddess's eyes, it would be his honour to "chat"
afterwards, and won't ask for the reason she won't talk in her room, earning
a "yada~" from the lady.

The lady walks off to get a drink and talk to other guests. Masky looks
around and sees the party in full swing, and figures that now is the time to
strike. The target's room is on the top deck, and proceeds to leave the
ballroom. Just as he leaves, he feels almost as he was watched, but
convinces himself that it must be his imagination. (Of course, that faint
shadow of a man a glimpsed was also a figment of our, the players',
imagination.)

Get to the top deck and you'll be stopped by two men in black who informs
you that ahead is the master's private room and for him to turn back. Masky
commends them on doing a good job, but laments that they have quite bad luck,
and then proceeds to enchant them to sleep. After the two guards are down,
Masky notes that even the Hunters have deteriorated, with these two of such
a low level. Seems like this job will be easier than most, and enters the
room.

Inside the room, find a few switches around the room, then type in ORPHEUS
as the password to open the hidden door. After Masky types the code, he
notes that with such a password, there is a high chance that the target this
time is related to "those people" (he means the Ouroborous). Enter the
secret door and Masky notes upon the pedestal his target, the Necklace of
Fools, a forbidden ancient relic that allows the wearer's lies to seem
mostly believable to all listeners, a relic much too dangerous for a mere
weapons merchant. As soon as he recovers the necklace however, alarms sound
and a door shuts on him.

Outside in the private bedroom, 3 MIB rush in, who suspect that the two
former guards were gased or doped to sleep. They wonder about the
possibility of accomplices although security footage showed only one person
entering, and so decide to detain the guests. Masky's voice then comes
through, laughing. One of the MIB kicks the door and asks him what the hell
was so funny. Masky says that he apologizes for his rudeness earlier for
assuming the Hunter team has grown weak, for these members look very well
trained to deal with all sorts of situations. MIB replies that Masky was the
one with balls for trying to make off with private property, and tells Masky
that Master GENLAD was not known for his mercy, and he'd never get off
easily. Masky replies that the invitation to stay is lovely, however he
already had plans for tonight. With that, a dark energy spear pierces
through the door, visibly denting it. MIB are surprised at how a single
person could do that to the blast doors that can even stand direct orbmental
cannon fire. Masky tells MIB they should stand clear of the door, and that
this skill was hard to control. Following two more shots, the door breaks
and Masky (Kevin Graham) walks out. MIB wonder what a priest of the church
is doing here. Kevin says that he's a real deal full-on priest, and that if
the three wants to confess their sins since they all look to have pretty
dark pasts, he'll charge them extra cheap. MIB rallies and resolves to
attack Kevin, who laments why they couldn't play along with the joke "how
can you charge for confession", but then admits that since he's running
short on time anyway, better get started. A battle ensures.

After the battle, MIB gasps at the power of the church, and their special
operative branch the Gralz Ritter (German, means Star Grail Knight) that was
only heard through rumours. Kevin smiles and decides not to ask them the
sort of rumors Grail Knights get, and tells the MIB not to worry. His only
target was their master, so they should peacefully sleep. MIB all faints,
one of them gasped "you....monster". Kevin tells himself that since he's
retrieved the target item, he should finish up the business at the ballroom.
A pity it is to have to stand the masked lady up, since she seemed to have
such a nice body yet could not gain the satisfaction she seeks from her
husband, but resolves that he shouldn't play with TOO much fire. With that,
Kevin starts back towards the ballroom, meeting several enemies along the
way.

At the doors to the ballroom, another pair of MIB block his path. MIB
proclaim that upon their name as the North Hunter team, they cannot allow
Kevin to advance any further. Kevin recognizes that name, and it was indeed
a real and quite famous hunter group. Kevin also says he's heard about their
country, but wonders if they can compromise a step here. MIB yells back that
he'll never understand their country, and that for the young and old
starving and poverty ridden back home, they cannot afford to lose any
reputation here. Kevin gives up, saying that it is indeed a cruel world, and
that since the two parties cannot resolve this peacefully, he'll go full
power.

Inside the ballroom, GENLAD wonders what the commotion is, to which the MIB
explain that someone powerful has intruded. GENLAD panics and yells at MIB
that it's for that reason he hires the MIB, so kill the intruder if they
must. "That won't do at all", and with that Kevin walks into the ballroom
bow in hand. GENLAD sees the priest from the church and almost immediately
recognizes him as a Grail knight, to which Kevin says it's indeed expected
for someone with forbidden relics to know about his (Kevin's) organization,
holding up the necklace of fools. GENLAD panics some more and demands it be
returned, but it's the property of only the goddess and cannot be given to
mere mortals to handle. GENLAD orders his lackeys to kill Kevin, but they
get knocked out. Kevin then states that under the law of the church, he know
arrests GENLAD for illegal possession and usage of forbidden ancient relics.
GENLAD threatens that even if it's the church, if they attack him, the
director of the Lanford company, there'll be hell to pay. Kevin interrupts
as they've already talked with the company, and it seems that GENLAD used
the relic on the company as well, and has caused a lot of problems all over
the place. Since someone like GENLAD no doubt has a lot of enemies, why
don't he just give up quietly. GENLAD screams and tries to escape but Kevin
dashes forward with a kidney punch (FALCON PUNCH), knocking GENRAD out, with
Kevin saying it's so bothersome apprehending his targets alive. Just then, a
whole team of hunter soldiers, no longer MIB but with full battle gear
dashes into the ballroom and tells Kevin to give it up. There was a whole
battalion worth of soldiers up here, and on an airship there was no escape
even with a hostage. Kevin commends on the reaction speed of the Northern
Hunter group, and says that both parties are very lucky this time. If they
(hunters) were recognized by Kevin as true "outlaws", he would have to
"punish" all of them. Kevin then applauds their efforts, and tells them to
continue working hard for their country, provided they don't end up as the
Church's target. Following that, Kevin (hostage in tow) jumps right through
the window and disappears from view. Hunters in the ballroom marvel at the
sort of people the Grail Knights have.

Standing to the side, a person with a full faced mask smiles and talks to
the air that Kevin Graham is surely entertaining, however the games are only
just beginning. "For the king, is just beginning to awaken".

Septian Church, Star Grail Knights special combat vessel, "MERKBA" unit 5

Kevin comes into the bridge of the vessel and is greeted by two squire
knights (Sai and Max) who were operating the ship. They commend on another
job well done, and Kevin agrees that this job was easier than norm, although
he missed out on a chance to see nirvana with a suppressed older woman. Sai
and Max seem already used to these sort of antics from Kevin, and warn him
he'll get in trouble if the higher ups hear about such escapades. Kevin
retorts that they were too serious, and has no idea why serious-minded
squires were partnered with him, who was in his own words very "carefree".
The squires reply that no matter what, Kevin was a member of Dominion (more
on this later) and required a suitable amount of backup support, including
the MERKBA vessel. The number of squires Kevin have is also below the
average, and Max wonders if they could apply for extra hands. Kevin
respectfully declines as that would be difficult when he moves alone. The
squires plead Kevin to trust them a little more, like in the Liber Arc
incident where all the squires managed to do was transport the "Salt bolt".
Kevin eases their egos by telling them that transportation of "salt bolt"
was already a paramount task, although he mutters to himself that if he
moved carelessly, "they'd" take notice. Kevin then orders the team to head
back towards ARTERIA (Church headquarters), and calculates they should
arrive today afternoon, as it was already early in the morning.

At this time a signal lights, and Squire Sai reports incoming transmission
from Ein Selnert (they used a title here that I'm not familiar with, so I
will refer to her as "Leader" Selnert from now on) in ARTERIA. Kevin thinks
to himself that considering her personality, a transmission now won't be any
sort of good news, but he still orders the transmission to connect.

Selnert appears on screen and asks Kevin for a status report. Kevin explains
the target, necklace of fools, and comments that this case does have
something to do with the "snakes", however it's only a discarded tail.
Selnert notes that everything pretty much went according to plan and
commends Kevin for a job well done, and tells him he can come back to rest
well. At least, that's what she hoped she could say, but she has another job
for Kevin. Kevin asks if it's "outlaw" business, but she replies it's only
item retrieval. Kevin needs to go and retrieve something currently residing
under the church in Grancell. That means there's a high probability it has
something to do with the Aureole. Since there was still the prisoner, Kevin
orders MERKBAS to continue to ARTERIA and he will go to Grancell himself.
Selnert then mentions that for this case, he gets a new squire knight, and
that fate indeed was a wondrous thing. She reassures that the squire had
outstanding achievements and will not pull his leg. All being said, Selnert
cuts the transmission. Kevin was shocked beyond words, but Max and Sai are
joyous that someone new will be joining up. Kevin grumbles how he couldn't
believe such a person could end up the model for the protagonist of the
Carnelia novels. Sai wonders if publishing novels with such a character is
good, as it will expose the existence of the Grail Knight organization.
Kevin explains, that given the ridiculousness and fantastical nature of the
novel, it acts as an excellent camouflage, not to mention the protagonist
dies in the end. The real person would never die so easily. In any case,
Kevin leaves the squires with their orders to take the prisoner to ARTERIA,
and to drop him off at some self-governed state, preferably one with an
international airport.

Same day, afternoon, ZAMURIA continent west, airspace approximately 500
miles from Liberl.
International Airliner "Gretna"

Dorothy was taking pictures of birds as they flew alongside Gretna, although
unlike Jeeg, they could not keep up with the airship's speed and dropped out
of sight soon, although "they were still so cute <3". Kevin comes out of the
cabins and is surprised to bump into Dorothy on an international flight, and
says hello. Dorothy greets him back but seems to have forgotten his name.
She then tries to remember, and finally recalls "Mr Springonion Graham".
Kevin even went along with it, saying "yes, you can bake it, steam it,
excellent sidedish, wait WRONG". Dorothy laughs and tells him it was a joke,
and renames him Claypot Graham (Claypot sounds similar to Kevin in Japanese).

Inside the cabins, the two are talking about what they were doing here.
Kevin is on his way to retrieve something in Liberl, and Dorothy is on her
way back from material collection for the magazine. Seems Nial told her to
go alone, and Kevin notes how brave and trusting Nial is, although with new
responsibility, even Dorothy will grow to become reliable. Dorothy smilingly
goes "leave it to me", yet mentions that she was only meant to go to the
Bose markets, although in the end she still did well. Kevin gets curious and
asks more, and it seems that Dorothy should have only went to Bose, but fell
asleep on the airship and upon waking was already at the Calvard capital.
Kevin retorts that that wasn't the sleep's fault, she just entirely took the
wrong ship, and asks about how long she stayed there, and about expenses and
VISAs. Dorothy explains that someone from the Liberl Embassy in Calvard was
at the airport and picked her up, and there were a lot of friendly people
during the material gathering trip so money was not a problem either. Kevin
wonders if Nial is worried, and Dorothy replies that she contacted the
magazine office yesterday, and it seemed like he had a bad stomach ache, and
makes the decision that "smoking so much must be bad for him." Kevin didn't
have the heart to tell her that it was more likely caused by severe mental
breakdown instead of smoking. At this point the female attendant notifies
via PA that they will be landing in 30 minutes. Dorothy still wants to take
some more photos, so Kevin tells her he'll walk around a bit, and leaves her.
Talk to all passengers and you'll automatically go to the next scene.

The airship lands and Kevin and Dorothy leaves. Dorothy exclaims that
although Calvard was good, the air in Liberl was the best. Kevin too, is
surprised at how peaceful and serene everything is considering the magnitude
of events a mere 6 months ago, and notes that it must be the stability of
the nation. Dorothy explains that it was because it was the Queen's country,
and that "women are very strong when in a pinch." Kevin admits that, coming
from Dorothy, it sounds so convincing, and yet so unconvincing. Dorothy asks
about Kevin's homeland ARTERIA, and Kevin replies that ARTERIA is not his
actual homeland, but merely the headquarters of the church. Being so, many
people from all over the continent gather there. Before Dorothy can ask any
further, a "DO-RO-THY" comes from the side and in comes Nial, very pissed
why a Bose trip turned into the Calvard Republic excursion. Dorothy wonders
if she has sleepwalk syndrome, earning her a big "SLEEPWALKING DOESN'T
EXPLAIN CHANGING AIRSHIPS!!" from Nial, who then starts gasping. Dorothy
tells Nial to smoke less, and mentions that his birthday was last Friday, so
she took some pictures of a cake, which she ate. Just a picture of a cake,
no presents, nothing at all, and apparently it was only because Dorothy
wanted to have some cake. On the side, Kevin muses that the pair always
seems so lively, and that seeing this pair really makes you feel you're in
Liberl.

Nial finally notices Kevin, and the first conclusion he reached was that
Dorothy went to ARTERIA and broke the glass of a revered church, though
Kevin explains that they only met on the airship, and that he's here for
some church business. Nial and him exchange a bit of pleasantries, then
tells him he'll come and say hello in the church in a few days. With that,
he drags Dorothy away asking for what materials she gathered, to which she
replies she took a picture before each meal. Kevin then muses what the other
companions were doing at this time, and that apparently Estelle and Joshua
went on a trip to other countries.

"Father Graham," a voice breaks Kevin from his reverie, and he turns to find
Lieutenant Seed waiting for him. They exchange some pleasantries and we find
out that Seed is about to be promoted to Colonel, although he feels he's not
up to the task. They then begin towards the church, as Seed must handover
the item as per protocol, though it's kept somewhere "special". Seed also
mentions that there's someone, a civilian volunteer, that he'd like to
introduce Kevin to, as she was instrumental to the recovery of this item.

At the church, Kevin and Seed enter to see the priest of the church and a
female in white. Kevin says hello to the priest, but the woman starts off
asking Kevin's age (22), then taunts at how young people can already take
key positions in the Grail Knights society, "mister number 5 Dominion, Kevin
Graham-san". Hearing this, Kevin's face darkens, and the woman taunts
further that to change faces at such a level, he still needs more training,
unless this was also a part of his mask. Seed politely asks "Professor
Russel" if she could keep her pointed jabs to a minimal which she flat out
refuses, since Kevin was here to take what they worked so hard to recover,
and reminds Seed not to call her the same name as that old man. Kevin then
puts two and two together and realizes that this woman is in fact Tita's
mother. Introductions then take place.

Seed, Kevin and Erika are talking as they walk down a LONG flight of spiral
stairs. Kevin tries to make small talk about how he thought Tita's parents
were out of the country, to which she retorts how could they not come back
with such a big event happening at home. Although by the time they heard
about the incident and rushed back, it was already over, muttering how
without them around, the stupid old geezer did whatever he wanted.
Apparently she's very pissed that Professor Russel even took little Tita up
onto the floating capital, and even allowed that "red-haired delinquent"
approach her little princess. When asked if red-hair meant Agate, she snaps
never to mention that name again, and (eyes glowing) vows to upgrade the
machine capabilities to completely destroy Agage Crosner next time.
Professor Russel seems to be out of the country at the moment, so they've
asked for Erika to come help with all matters pertaining to the Liber Arc.
Erika then wonders how long the stairs are (as long as it takes to finish
the script), and Kevin assures her it's almost ending, although to continue
further onwards, Erika and Seed need to agree to certain "constraints". The
constraints in question was akin to a mental suggestion that whatever they
see, they cannot tell to those they do not trust completely, as Seed needs
to report to his superiors and such. Kevin asks them to think about that,
and casts his magic. Following that, he reaches an apparent dead end, and
chants "Under the name of the Goddess of the Sky, here be the conveyor of
the Septian. Golden glow of the sky, silver glow of knowledge, with the
reason of life grant unto us the true path" (or something like that, very
hard to translate). A shimmer, and a door appears from the wall.

Kevin thanks them for agreeing to the constraints, for if they did not truly
think that in their hearts, they would not be able to see the door. Kevin
invites them in as the door opens.

Singularity of Origin

Seed and Erika were surprised that such a place existed far below the
Grancell church. Kevin proceeds to explain that the Singularity of Origin
was created as per the agreement between the septian church and the Lieberl
Kingdom, existing for only one purpose, to suppress the functions of ancient
relics, so that the outside world was not affected. Seed wonders if there
are other locations of this place in Liberl, which Kevin does not refute,
though he was not at liberty to divulge any further information. Erika
wonders at the meaning of the "singularity of origin", and asks if the
"origin" was ARTERIA. Kevin is silent for a few moments, and says "as
expected of Professor Russel's daughter", which gets Erika riled up. Taking
aside theories, she was better in the application science, as she was the
head designer for both Capol (the super computer) and Aserlys. Getting back
onto the main topic, the item on the pedestal was the item in question, the
ancient relic recovered from where Liber Arc fell, retrieved a mere three
days ago.

Memory, 3 days ago
The memory is of Erika and head technician Gostof talking as they attempted
to salvage an item estimated at the size of a cat in the lake. They had
pinpointed the location to about 100 square meters, although the water was
deep and progress was slow. Erika, Gostof and Seed also talked about the
ancient relic, and Erika is especially pissed at the attitude of the church
that's akin to "it's a relic, give it to us" without regard of the host
country. After all, the ancient relics can cause phenomenon that cannot be
explained using science, and so poses much interest to the scientific
community. Further talk was postponed as Erika controls the mechanical arm,
and with a few minute adjustments retrieve a glowing box.

Present day, Singularity of Origin

After Erika explains the events leading to the discovery of the relic, she
then states that the relic has already lost its orbmental reaction. Hearing
this, Kevin understood the reason she wanted to see him in person, as an
ancient relic that has lost its orbmental powers are not included in the
Agreement between Liberl and the church. Seed adds that the orbmental
reactions disappeared while transporting the item to the church, but they
still stored it here per protocols, and asks Kevin what to do now. Seed, on
behalf of the Liberl government, wants to have all rights to the relic,
while Erika insists that as the discoverer, Liberl should keep it. Kevin
explains that relics that lose their orbmental power are effectively black
boxes that cannot be analysed using any current technological means. Erika
still insists on keeping the relic, for it was closely related with that
incident which basically overthrew all common sense, and is directly related
with the secrecy with which the church treats the relics. In addition, the
Ouroborous obviously has totally superior technology to Liberl, the leading
runner in orbmental technology, and thus having a clue towards their obvious
technology gap cannot be ignored by her and the entire scientific society.
The final ultimatum to Kevin was basically, whether or not the Church will
hand over this "metallic cube" to Liberl.

Before Kevin can answer however, a girl's voice gently recites "Twas but
from the source of doubt that evil was born. The evil then ran across the
fields and over the mountains, and finally spread calamity in the sky. From
the bible verse 2, 'The released calamity'." The owner of the voice was a
sister of the church, who then walks forward and apologizes to Kevin for
being late, introducing herself as Ries Argent, his new squire knight from
the church. Kevin is shocked speechless at this point, while Erika is also
surprised and yells that she won't be deceived or beaten. This causes some
confusion for Ries, but Erika further explains how "terrifying the Grail
Knights were, to use such a pristine young girl to blunt their offensive,
however I have backup!!" and holds up a picture of Tita (so cute <3). Ries
mentions how cute Tita was, and Erika rants on of how cute Tita was, so no
matter how cute Ries is she was already immune to cuteness. Ries is sort of
lost to this compliment while Erika elaborates that this "cool demeanor that
still has left some stains of childishness, the concealing yet alluring
Sister dress covering a soft youthful body just escaping girlhood
[nosebleed], what destructive power." Ries, cool as ice, calmly asks Kevin
for introductions, knocking him out of his reverie. After introductions,
Ries immediately asks them to hand her the relic, shocking everyone with her
bluntness. Ries continues that she's just doing this to save "Graham-dono"
the trouble, and that, even if the powers were lost, this is a relic
directly linked with the Septuangt and cannot be given to common people.
Erika fights back, stating that there is nothing in the Agreement that
allows them to take the item, although Ries counters that there was nothing
that allows Liberl to take the item either, and that if the Agreement was
obeyed to the letter, this relic should be left where it was, under no one's
authority. Erika then bitterly asks if "you mean to take this relic no
matter what, and we're not even allowed to complain about it." Cool as ice
Ries gives the affirmative, that "in simple words, yes, that is exactly what
we mean." The two fighting women then both ask Kevin what he thinks should
be done (poor guy). Kevin admits that of course he really does want to
retrieve the item, but Liberl has given him a lot of help in the past and he
wants to pay them back somehow to. Either way, there lacks any conclusive
evidence to say who the relic goes to.

Then, the relic emits a strange noise, and the screen goes off-color for a
while, although only Ries and Kevin seemed to notice that. Following this,
the relic starts shining a dark light, and the matter was settled. Formally,
Kevin states that according to the Agreement between the Septian church and
Liberl, he will now be retrieving the ancient cube shaped relic of unknown
type, aliased "Cube" (Arca in game, but it means Cube), and thanks both Seed
and Erika for their cooperation.

By the time Kevin and Ries left the church, it was already night, since
after that apparent end, Erika continued to argue, even going so far as to
say "if you're taking the cube no matter what, then leave the girl here",
and laughs that Ries wasn't even Anelace. Ries seems quite withdrawn,
answering monotonously and following a respectful distance behind Kevin.
Kevin notices the atmosphere and wonders if Ries-san was angry to which she
suddenly loudly states "Graham-dono, just as you have changed in the five
years of your role as Dominion, I too have changed in this time. Right now I
am only a squire knight of the Grail Knights, an existence solely dedicated
to protecting and supporting you.", softly adding that he shouldn't worry
about her feelings, else all she's done would have been for naught. After a
slight silence, she notifies Kevin that the final international flight for
the day was leaving, and they should hurry towards the airport, until a loud
"GGGGRRRRRRRRR" freezes both in their tracks. Kevin wonders what that was,
to which Ries quickly states "it was your imagination. You must be tired,
Graham-dono, to hear things where there is nothing. Perhaps you should have
a nice rest- [GGGGGRRRRRRRRRR] -rest on the plane..." Kevin bursts out
laughing at this point, that THIS was the Ries he knew, who's tummy always
growls so loudly when she was hungry. Ries (with a blush, kawaii <3) meekly
says that it was a mere biological sign and that, for her to be unable to
control it was proof of her immaturity as knight. Kevin wasn't done laughing
yet, reminiscing how Ries would always get hungry and sneak into the kitchen
and end up with a scolding. With a curt "Enough!" Ries turns and leaves,
though Kevin quickly catches up and tries to apologize, though she replies
"no need to apologize, there's nothing less sincere or trustworthy than
Kevin's apologies." Kevin then asks her for a favor, to stop using such a
formal way of speech with him, and that it's so uncomfortable if even Ries
uses it. Ries asks what if she refuses, to which Kevin matter-of-factly
explains that he'll kneel on the ground and latch onto her leg until she
agrees. Ries notes that he's still the same, and says that if he so commands,
she will obey. Kevin quickly explains that it wasn't a command, just a favor.
Ries finally gives in, though she warns Kevin that only the way of
addressing him has changed, and that the fact remained their relationship
was of a Dominion and a squire. Kevin agrees, and softly mumbles that indeed,
it was impossible to return to the days of old. However, he suggests that
before they head to the airport, they should stop by the mall and buy some
bread for the trip, earning a wholehearted agreement from Ries.

Afterwards, Kevin and Ries walk out of the mall, with Kevin exclaiming he
couldn't believe Ries took seriously EVERYTHING left in stock. Ries defends
herself, saying that it was the will of the goddess, compared to being
wasted at the end of the day, the food will serve a higher purpose keeping
her going. Kevin hypothesizes that Ries most likely blows all her salary on
food, but she says "Don't worry, there are not many girls with a love for
limited special prices like me ^^". It must be quite a surprise for the
service attendants to see a church sister grabbing all the specials. Ries
tells Kevin to shut up and go to the Airport so she can start on the food,
but Kevin's attention was caught to the side. After seeing Kevin, Ries
notices too that there was someone following them, and quietly asks if they
can beat whoever it was until they were half-dead, a fitting punishment for
delaying her meal. Anyway, seems like our heroes will be missing their last
plane tonight as they walk to some place more fitting for a showdown. Ries
does note that the stalker seems to be a complete amateur, yet seems to show
some proof of training as well.

Later at the docks, Gilbert looks around, and wonders where the two he was
following went off to. Kevin and Ries comes out behind him, and Kevin
recognizes him. Gilbert was surprised they saw through his "totally perfect
stalking techniques". Ries asks about him, and Kevin introduces him as a
member of "snake", though only the tip of the tip of the tails. Ries agrees,
further analyzing that no matter how you look at it, he has the air of a
grunt/cannon fodder in his very pores, and can be categorized as the try
hard never give up but always self-destructs in the end type. Gilbert gets a
bit pissed that a little girl will say such of him and raises his gun,
though Ries does one slice of her long extendable sword and disarms him.
While Gilbert was surprised at how fast she moved, Kevin asks if the Templar
sword was her chosen weapon of choice, just as he chose the crossbow. The
templar sword is a weapon used by the church, a sword with its blades
connected by a metallic wire with extending capabilities. Kevin then starts
to interrogate Gilbert on why he, a man on the wanted list, was following
them. Gilbert tries to defy, but Ries gets VERY pissed when she's hungry,
and he admits that he didn't plan on following them. He had to do an
emergency landing here, and saw them by chance and decided to follow them.
Kevin then asks about the vessel he must have rode in, and Gilbert admits
that it was right here, with the G-Apache dashing out of the water on
command. A fight ensures.

The fight deserves a mention, since Gilbert has the BEST attack of the game.
No it's not an S-break. Basically, he'll first prostrate himself on the
ground and ask for your forgiveness, then inch forward to try to shake hands,
saying "come on, let's get along together", until he then grabs your hands
and goes apeshit, with words "idiot, dumbass, who'll fall for this sort of
attack, if only you weren't here, I'm an elite you know, curse you, take
that" and a bunch of other stuff I couldn't catch.

After the battle, Gilbert is flabbergasted that you defeated his custom unit.
Kevin commends Ries on having grown very strong, though she brushes it off,
saying it wasn't even one thousandth of onee-san yet, although Kevin feels
the same way for himself. Anyway, seems Gilbert has no cards left to play,
Kevin asks him to give himself up. Gilbert asks if he'll be given to the
Liberl army, and Kevin does offer him an alternative of coming to ARTERIA,
though he wouldn't be able to guarantee his life.

At this point, the screen once again goes odd colored, and this time even
Gilbert notices the anomaly. Ries and Kevin wonder what it was though a
voice above alerts them to another presence. Standing on the roof of a
nearby building was a silverhaired swordsman with jet-black armor, complete
with a facemask. The masked knight says "It has been a long time, Kevin
Graham, bearer of the Stigma and sinner walking the eternal path of dark
punishment." Kevin is very surprised at his words and demands to know who he
is, but a bright white flash from the cube blinds everyone, and all that was
left were the masked knight's parting words. "This way, the "King" (lord) is
resurrected, the door towards hell will open. Come, sacrifices, you who
wonder in doubt and fear, to bear torment and be consumed by the eternal
flames."

Kevin and Ries are on the ground. Kevin awakens first and quickly tries to
rouse Ries, who feels very sick and aweful. Kevin instantly gets very
worried, but Ries explains that she's reached her limit for hunger, and
needs to eat now. Kevin tells her to at least take notice of the situation,
to which she replies eating is the basis of all actions. She remembers that
there was a strange man, a bright white light, and looks around.

They were indeed in a library sort of room, floating in a background of
infinite stars, and the onscreen words names the place as the Garden of
Recluse. "Looks like this mission is going to be much more troublesome than
we can imagine..."
