1.0 INTRODUCTION
----------------
Well this is my first guide. The game itself is pretty linear so I thought
that any kind of step-by-step guide would be fairly redundant. Most puzzles
are fairly straight-forward and the most difficult aspect of this game seems to
the boss battles. Hence the creation of this boss guide! Pretty nifty, right?

----------
2.0 BOSSES
----------

------------------------
2.1 Mission 1: Monastery
------------------------

2.1.1 The Boss Monk
---------------------
This boss is unnamed, but hes the boss of the guys you have been
killing. Youll notice him immediately as has golden armor and is protected by
a shield. Also, the little cut scene introducing him doesnt hurt ;)
When you first encounter this boss, hell comment on how youre a creature of
the dark and promptly switch on the lights. If youre quick, you can charge
your infernal power up once before the lights drain your mana. Once charged,
shoot him. After you get the quickie out of the way, hide behind a crate. I
found that the one on the far side of the room furthest from the boss works
best as he tends to miss you and the crate completely, meaning the crate wont
be destroyed and youll be free to do your dirty work.
Only shots using your infernal power will damage this boss. Since he
turned on the lights, youll have to turn them off to let darkness fill the
area again. When you hear the boss reload, begin shooting the lights out.
There are three lights in the room you need to hit, each hanging from the
ceiling on three of the corners of the room. The one hardest to spot is behind
the boss, while the other two are on adjacent corners. Once the lights are
out, the darkness will build up your mana. As soon as your mana hits twenty,
charge your infernal power and shoot the boss.
At this point in time, the boss will miraculously replace all the light
bulbs in the room (dont ask me how) and youll have to rinse and repeat the
procedure until hes dead. Should only take about 3 or 4 hits

2.1.2 Another Boss-type Monk
------------------------------
This boss is very similar to the first boss except that there are no lights to
shoot out to build up your infernal power. Instead, simply kill all the
weakling guys he brings with him to build up your mana. Keep in mind that the
troops he brings will respawn endlessly so there really isnt much of a reason
to focus on killing them all until after you defeat the boss. So kill a few
weaklings for mana, charge up an infernal shot, shoot the monk, and repeat.

---------------------------------
2.2 Mission 2: Grey Rock Refinery
---------------------------------

2.2.1 Major Elena Zubrov
------------------------
Elena is a Russian agent who is, not surprisingly, trying to kill you. After
chasing her for a while, you finally battle her in the sewers. Elenas attacks
are all ranged attacks, and she has two stages.

Stage 1:
Elena and you start out separated by a gap, forcing you to attack her from a
distance and giving you a relatively small area to move. On your side of the
gap are a few electrical boxes which you should destroy if you get the chance.
I recommend NOT using these for cover, as Elena throws explosives at you and
they will detonate on these. However, if the explosives hit a wall, theyll
bounce harmlessly away. Therefore, your best tactic is to simply roll out of
the way of incoming explosives.
Elena will follow a simple routine of hiding behind cover, peeking out to lob
some explosives at you (which have a blue glow, for whatever reason), and then
cart wheeling to another point of cover. When shes doing her cart wheels is
the best time to attack her, as shell generally be out in the open. Just
dodge her explosives and hit her when shes moving between cover to send her to
state 2.

Stage 2:
After you do enough damage, Elena will jump down to a lower level in the
sewer, and youll jump down after her (quite a distance, I would say). Elena
will now pull out twin rocket launchers and attack you with those. The tactic
to beat her here isnt much different than before. Though the cover is
slightly better here thanks to some more room, it is still much, much better to
dodge her missiles by rolling out of their way. After Elena fires her two
missiles, shell spend a great deal of time reloading. She will remain
stationary for the entire reload cycle so use this time to attack her. After
reloading, Elena will run to another point of cover, aim her rockets at you,
and fire. Just dodge the rockets and shoot her while shes reloading and
youll be done with her in no time.

2.2.2 Professor Wolf
--------------------
Youve been chasing after Professor Wolf for quite some time and now youve
finally caught up to him. Wolf definitely lives up to his mad scientist motif.
Professor Wolf has three stages to his battle.

Stage 1:
Initially the professor will send waves of enemies after you. Dont
fret though since these enemies have all the speed and coordination of the
undead and a head the size of a beach ball. Simply shoot them in the noggin
when they get in range. One shot will do it. If they get too close, their
heads will explode, killing them and hurting you, so dont let them get close ;)
Near the base of Professor Wolfs machine are a series of orange
test-tubes which stick out. Charge up some infernal shots and destroy every
last one of these. Use the cannon-fodder trotting around to rebuild your mana
supply when you need. After all the test-tubes are destroyed, its time for
stage 2.

Stage 2:
After a short cut scene, you will hear Luciuss previous advice concerning
your power to move objects (hint). Before you put your supreme powers of
telekinesis to work though, youll notice that the room is now spinning. On
top of that, there are moving silver panels on the floor which will damage you
when you step on them. This puts a little twist on those walking zombies
youve been avoiding, but fear not. Along the wall there is an alcove where
there is no zombie-spawning capsule (though it looks exactly like the alcoves
with capsules). Jump into there and youll be safe from zombies and completely
free of the rotating floor.
Enter telekinetic mode and target the floating spheres in the machine. These
spheres were previously protected by a force field but now theres nothing
stopping you from removing them from the machine and dropping them from a
height. After smashing all the orbs to bits, the machine will explode and
Professor Wolf will be quite angry with you.

Stage 3:
After another short cut scene, Professor Wolfs chair will sprout jets and fly
at you. Meanwhile, the professor will take pot shots at you with a laser
pistol. Fear not, for the zombies are no more and the area is quite dark,
giving you a demonic aura with which to build up your mana.
You need to shoot Wolfs chair in the rear. Dodge Wolf long enough to build
up enough mana to teleport (fifteen, in case you forgot). Circle-strafing
around the center machine works well. Then teleport behind the professor and
quickly (very, very quickly) aim at the Professors back and fire to do some
considerable damage to his chair before he turns around. If he turns around
while youre teleported, youll get another chance to hit his rear when you
teleport back (though you wont have any slow-motion to assist you so youll
have to be even faster). Rinse and repeat until he is no longer amongst the
living.

---------------------------------
2.3 Mission 3: Malovia Steelworks
---------------------------------

There really arent any bosses or even mini-bosses in this level. You
can just blast your way through this mission.

--------------------------
2.4 Mission 4: HMS Liberty
--------------------------

2.4.1 Mini-boss: Walker Mechs
-----------------------------
Youll find these guys in the aircraft carriers hanger. They bring to
mind the walker from Aliens which Ripley used to shove the alien queen into
the airlock, except these guys pack awesome laser cannons. There are three
mechs in all. First you fight just one and then two more show up after the
initial one is destroyed.
Destroying them is relatively straight-forward. Simply lure them near a PAIR
of jet fuel containers and then shoot the barrels to cause them to explode. Be
sure to shoot only jet fuel containers which are standing in pairs as the
individually placed ones dont have any effect on the walkers.

2.4.2 Admiral Jones
-------------------
Admiral Jones is the commander of the HMS Liberty and is non-too-happy that
youve been systematically killing off all of his crew. Youll find him at the
end of the deck of the aircraft carrier in an attack helicopter. He will fly
around shooting you with either machine-gun fire or missiles. Be sure you roll
out of the way of any incoming fire. It shouldnt be too hard to figure out
what kind of attack hes going to use against you. He will keep his distance
when using missiles and do a fly-by when hes using bullets.
Anyway, look around on the deck for crates of ammo. Inside you should find
rocket launchers and rocket ammo. Now just put those rockets to some good use
and blast Jones out of the sky. Dont bother using infernal power or anything
special here. Just try not to miss too often with the rockets and dodge all of
the admirals attacks and youll be off to Mission 5 in no time.

------------------------------------------
2.5 Mission 5: Etherlight Satellite Center
------------------------------------------

2.5.1 Carlos
------------
Carlos is, for all intent and purpose, an angel.

Stage 1:
Like Professor Wolf, hes sealed himself inside a shield and you have to
destroy his machinery to lure him out. Youll notice that now you are no
longer losing mana from an angelic aura. However, you will need to kill the
endless number of enemies Carlos sends at you to generate some mana. Typically
two or three flying guys will show up. Just blast them out of the sky to build
up some mana and then use your infernal blast on the generators surrounding
Carlos (you know, the big pillar-like things). Two blasts should be enough to
destroy each generator. After each wave of enemies, you have some extra time
to suck the life out of them if you need to, so feel free. Plus its a great
way to get max ammunition for the heavy beam cannon.

Stage 2:
After you destroy the generators, the shield surrounding Carlos will collapse.
Needless to say, hes non-too-happy about that set of circumstances and turns
his attention toward you. Carlos will then transform into an angelic creature
which looks reminiscent of Tron (you know, that 80s movie).
Anyway, theres not really too much you can do at the moment as his angelic
aura drains your mana fairly quickly so just roll-dodge all his attacks. His
basic two attacks are a heavy beam cannon and one of those aura grenades that
sort of look like a snow globe. He does have a third move where a shockwave of
blue flames radiates outward from him, but that move only destroys any dark
flames; it actually harm you.
Lucius will come on the radio from time to time telling you to use the dark
flames to build up your infernal mana. Dark flames look like red spiral
columns and since just about everything in the entire room is blue, they
shouldnt be hard to miss. Dodge Carlos attacks long enough for a couple of
dark flames to appear and then make a mad dash for them before Carlos destroys
them. Once in the flames, youll see that your health and mana regenerate
rapidly, so dont even bother trying to dodge anymore and just unload infernal
blasts into Carlos. Eventually Carlos will destroy the dark flame with one of
his moves and youll have to run to the next dark flame or wait for Lucius to
send you some more. After a little bit of fighting Carlos should fall.

2.5.2 Lucius Black
------------------
Your former employer is most pleased with your work. However, Barbara doesnt
want Black to use the machine to take over the world and you side with her
(besides, shes well endowed and obviously used the goods to brainwash Lennox).
Lucius is not too pleased by your sudden traitorous action and strips you of
all your demon powers, leaving you completely mortal again. Lucius then morphs
into his true form: the devil.
First things first, avoid all of Lucius melee attacks. Roll-dodging out of
the way works pretty well but if you let him get too close, hell insta-kill
you, which is a bad thing. For ranged attacks, Lucius will throw fireballs at
you, which are extremely difficult to dodge. Theyll even hit you through
walls if youre too close to the wall. Luckily they dont do too much damage,
but youll probably have to run by some medical lockers to replenish your
health at least once during this fight.
Okay, after the cut scene, dodge Lucius long enough to unload a good number of
shots into him. Eventually he will fall to one knee. At this point in time,
look for a computer panel with a yellow light on it. Run over to the panel and
activate it. This will disable the security system allowing you back up the
ramp as well as extend a ramp to give you access to the mind control device.
Now that the security field is deactivated, you have access to several crates
and lockers along the outer perimeter of the room which contain ammo and
med-kits. Feel free to use them as needed.
Run up the ramp to the catwalk and run out to the device. Use the device to
arm a control node on it and then run back down to the bottom of the ramp.
Blast the daylights out of Lucius again and make your way back to the yellow
console and activate it. The device will rise and a new catwalk will extend.
Run back up the ramp to the new catwalk and activate the device, then run back
down and beat up Lucius again. Activate the console one more time and run up
to the device to trigger the final control node.

Congratulations, youve just finished Infernal.

3.0 FAQ (Frequently Asked Questions)
------------------------------------

Q. What is Infernal?
A. Infernal is a third-person shooter in which you play Ryan Lennox, a former
agent of light turned dark by unfortunate circumstances.

Q. Would you recommend Infernal?
A. Depending on whom you ask, Infernal is either a pretty good game or a very
lackluster one. I tend to side with the former way of thinking as Infernal is
a fun, action oriented game with some great visuals and interesting gameplay.
Its by no means perfect, but I found it quite enjoyable.

Q. Did you notice at the start of Mission 4 there is no body in the chair next
to you but as soon as the cut scene is over, there is a fresh corpse just
waiting for you to try to drain it?
A.	Yes, I did.
