He is found when you rest, you will catch him stealing your food so he gives it back. Go ahead and let him join your party! DELMAIR RALLYHORN - He is NEEDED to complete the mausoleum against those Rotten Beasts Why? Because he can attack faster in his "White Tiger" mode. FATHER JON - Quite Useful. I don't know. Your choice whether he joins you or not. He can be found in Myth Drannor in the second section. SWORD WRAITHS - The guys you battle from the start of the museum. ROTTEN BEASTS - They are the reason you need Delmair. Can be found in the mausoleum. CAPTAIN FFLAR - It is HIGHLY recommended not to kill him because he's good amd he will give you something SHADOWS - They are the guys that are all black. Can be found in mausoleum. WIGHTS - The guys that are with the shadows most of the time - The guys in the black tank tops. HAGS - Ladys that look sweet on the outside but look ugly when they attack! Can be found in MD CHIMERAS - The three animal-headed monsters. Who doesn't know the name of those guys anyway? In MD OGRE SLUGS - They are in the Mage's Guild. They are hard to kill, even with Delmair. But they do lots to you. They are the green looking fellows with a beard and all that. WATCHGOSTS - The skeleton ghosts in the green robes and the Chris Crocker hair. They too are in the guild. SCALADARS - They are the scorpions which are found in the guild. San-Raal (From Eye of the Beholder II) - Chaotic Neutral - Elf Male - Default Darkstar - Neutral Good - Human Female - Lady covered in the green stuff you can only see her eyes. ============================= 6. Tips/Stuff you MUST know! ============================= Well if you expect to win the mausoleum, you MUST have a thief in your party. And you need Delmair. =============== 7. Walkthrough =============== I will try to explain everything as clear as possible. Enjoy! :) ================= a. The Graveyard ================= REWARD FOR CLEARING - Nothing. Nothing at all except access to the mausoleum and the forest. MONSTERS - Grave Mist NPC ENCOUNTERS - N/A Well this is easy, just find the axe, cut down the trees and make your way through the forest. Your characters will inform you if you are able to cut down the trees by saying "Some of these trees dont seem all that sturdy to me. I wonder". The way I always find the axe is by going through the outskirts of the graveyard. If you find a LOT of grave mists (Ghosts) you are in the right place. Now after a random amount of steps you will come across Florin Falconhand and his troops. You can say anything to him. It really don't matter. ================= b. The Mausoleum ================= REWARD FOR CLEARING - Amulet of Friendship. MONSTERS - Sword Wraith, Rotten Beast, Fireball Machine, Wights, Shadows NPC ENCOUNTERS - Isharn Hammerfell Well, make sure you go get Delmair first and I will walk you through these rooms (from the enterance). Well at the other side from the enterance there will be a plaque that reads "Four Bones Down Will Show The Way" which means that four bone levers will need to be pulled down. There are four of them. One in every four passages. The rooms which they hide in requires a gold key. But you now have to find the keys. Picks don't work anymore. When you enter the rooms which need the golden key, the switches can be found from an illusionary wall in the room. Just press a small button from the southeast corner of the wall to open it. If it is a switch that has a plaque on it, you found the right one. You can pull it three directions: Up, Middle, or Down. Well, remember what the plaque said - Four Bones Down. So pull the switch in the down direction if you see it. Here are the room walkthroughs. Left Room 1 - When you enter there will be two doors to your left and a plaque in between that says "Pray for the dead" and a Prayer scroll as well. You can use your own prayer spell if you want. What it does is allows you to go through the two doors completely. Anyways from the start of the room, keep on going forward and turn right and go into the dead end and shut the drawer. It is a generator for Sword Wraiths. Kill them by using Burning Hands or Fireballs. If they make you weaker just ignore the message. I kept going on. There will be another Generator. Close it. Later in the room, open a door it will have a ditch in it. Fall into the ditch. Find the lever and pull it. It will trigger a teleporter with a gold key next to it. Take the key and hurry out before you get toasted. Now go into the teleport and go forward and go through the passage you see first. It contains the gold key room. Open the door with your gold key. The illusionary wall will be in the middle of the wall (facing south in the room). Pull it down. Now exit and now we go to... Left Room 2 - Make your way through this room until you see a pressure plate with a plaque on top which says "HEADS UP!" face South and run through the passage until you run into a switch. Pull it down quick before you get crushed. You won't die but you will get a chunk of your health taken off. Now the place after this was real hard for me for a while because you keep attempting to go through the passage but you get teleported back. ARGH! SON OF A GUN, WHAT AM I SUPPOSED TO DO!? Well that's what I'm here for. Right before this room is a illusionary wall. Open it up and pull the lever. Whoops its stuck. Well, this is where you need your thief - have your thief pick it with their lock picks to pull the switch down and now you can go through. One of the big black dudes has a Gold Key. You will later come across a scroll on the ground at a dead end. DON'T PICK IT UP. Why? Because it will explode if you pick it up. By the way its a Resist Fire scroll. When you first enter the Gold Key room. The illusionary wall is right in front of you. Push the button, pull the switch down and you are good to go. Now, let's go to: Right Room 1 - Make your way through the room until you come across a plaque which reads "NOT ALL NEED WEIGHT" Here's what to do: Place an item on the second, third, and fifth plate. Now you can continue on. Now turn right, go forward twice, and turn right to find the illusionary wall which requires a key. And ooh a sword. BUT WAIT! Don't put it in your inventory. Why? Because its cursed! So just leave it alone. Now find the gold key door and enter the room. There is another sword however it is NOT cursed. So go ahead and use it if you like. The illusion is right in front of you if you enter the room and turn right. Remember to close the generators! Now we are at: Right Room 2. Well you will come across many levers. Pull all kinds of combinations to open up the passage behind the plaque. Sometimes you need to pull levers up and others down again to do it. Well after all of that, go forward and look for a room with a door on the left and right side. Go through the left and press the illusion right in front of you and get the last key. Now find the Gold Door and go through it. And press the buttin on the wall in the corner and pull the switch down. Let's go back upstairs. WHOA! The passage opened up! Well lets go through the left part And go to: Basement 1 - Well lets go and face 2 new enemies - Shadows and Wights. They can easily be killed but can easily be deadly. Why? Because of their level draining. One or two Burning Hands spells will take them out, Well go thorugh the stairs at the end. Open the door but before you go in use a fireball to knock the shadows out. Let's go in and AGH! CAN'T BREATHE I AM POISONED! Hurry and kill the rest of the enemies and pull the switch to stop being poisoned. Now finish off the enemies in the other rooms. Now go look for a place where you will find a button that has a plaque on top which reads "PRESS BUTTON FOR SERVICE" press it and fall down into the pit. Pick up the gold key and enter the gold door next to where you pressed the button. There is an illusionary wall in the corner. Now find some slime on the floor and move through it. If you can't move fast, its not your computer, its the slime thats slowing you down. After you find a door around there, kill all the enemies and find Captain F's nameplate. You need it to avoid a fight with him. Now go back next to the place with the button and the plaque. Now go to the left side and you will find a plaque that says "THE SPIRIT MOVES IN DIFFERENT WAYS" keep going forward until the hole goes right up to you. Go backwards, then into the door to encounter Captain Fflar's ghost. He's stupid because he thinks he's actually alive but you need his nameplate for proof. Proof that he is a ghost. He says that he was going to make his "last stand" against the evil that attempted to take over his city. You tell him that he died a hero though. Talk nice with him and he wil give you the Medallion of Friendship which makes the trees think you are their friends and lets you go through the trees. OK now I don't know how trees can think if they don't have a brain but okaay. Now go to the enterance and go through the right side. Another plaque will say FOR EVERY PATH THAT MAY BE TAKEN ANOTHER SURELY SHALL BE GIVEN. You will find to corners. Hit the left and stand on the pressure plate in the middle of the room. Now kill all the monsters and find a "Rod Fragment" now hit the plate again from behind the plaque. Now you should know what I am talking about. Alright now after you find all three rod fragments and an orb which you should have found from an illusionary wall from the other section, go find a place that has a big stone carving with three lines and a circle. Place the orb in the circle part, and place the three Rod Fragments you picked up into the lines. Now a plaque has appeared behind you. It says something like "RESTORETH THE SOUL". Now turn around again and find a Restoration Rod. Use it to get your lost levels of experience and strengh back. Well, now that we are done lets move through: ============== c. The Forest ============== REWARD FOR CLEARING - Access to Myth Drannor. This is the place where you should have found Delmair and asked for the Copy Protection code (See 9). Anyways from the place where you were asked the Copy Protection routine, go left and click on one of the holes that are on the bottom until you find a Everburning Torch. You DON'T NEED TO DO THIS if you have the Medallion. Now look around for the right passages. If you can't find the right passages. look for maps on Google. That's what I did. Now you will be moving and Hey Why Can't I Go!? Because you are facing an invisible enemy called a Greater Feyr. They turn visible when they attack you. Now once again, try finding the right passages. This time through those thorns. Make your way until you find a ghost man who gets mad at you because you cut down the forest trees. No matter what you say to him you can't kill him and he can't kill you. He claims that he has served and protected the forest and will continue for the rest of eternity. Anyways, after that he will then ask your party to choose a book. Choose the book of Arcane deeds to gain a level. Unless you want to lose one, I wouldn't want to lose a level. Why? Because you will need as much experience as possible just to get through: ================ d. Myth Drannor ================ REWARD FOR CLEARING - You must clear the other parts of MD first. MONSTERS - Hags, Chimeras, Wyverns, Trolls NPC ENCOUNTERS - Rex, Father Jon Here you will be fighting 3-headed-creatures. What are they? CHIMERAS. And what about the ladys who look nice but grow an ugly green face when they attack? Those are hags. On the right part of the first section (The place you enter) you will find a saurial cleric named Rex. He is good not evil so it is up to you whether he joins your party or not. But remember you can only have 6 people in your party. However in the top left corner of this place is the place you must go to first. And that is... ================ e. Mage's Guild ================ REWARD FOR CLEARING - Gain access to Lathander's temple. MONSTERS - Ogre Slug, Watchghost, Water Elemental, Stone Giant Grate Monster?, NPC ENCOUNTER - Bugenius Well when you first get to the enterance the game states that you should go in and see what it left but there is "Scant Cowardice" in running. Just enter. Now memorize the "True Seeing" becuase there are lots of illusions in this place. Now first, you will be surrounded by three teleporters. Go through the one in front of you. Now you will come across these ghosts in green robes and Chris Crocker's hair. These are called Watchghosts. Luckily, they are easy to kill with Delmair. Now look around for Trobriand's Ring. To wear it, go to one of your character's inventory and place it on one of the two tiny squares. This will allow you to attract th Scaladars to not attack you but come to you. Now go back to the enterance and go through the left teleporter. Now time to meet a new enemy: Ogre Slugs. They can do some hefty damage upon your party. Swords work the most damage on them. After you cleared out the area, find a button and press it. It will reveal an entirely different place. Next you will find some books: A book on the seasons and Trobriand's journal. You can keep them if you wish. Otherwise, just put them back. Now when you go back through the teleporter from the start that was in the middle. Now cast True Seeing and see a place with four signs that have teleporters next to them. Now the signs will say stuff like "To Save The Realm, the heat of summer". Well here is what you do after you go through the teleporters, you will be in a room full of Watchghosts. Well, I hope you have mages with you my friend, or I am afraid that this mission is over. That is unless you cheat. Well, after you kill the Watchghosts, open the doors around you. There will be teleporters through each door with tapestries next to them. Here is which one to go through depending on which sign teleporter you went through (Hope that makes sense) Sign With Teleporter - Teleporter with Tapestry to go through Summer - Tapestry with sun Autumn - Tapestry with tornado Winter - Tapestry with mountains Spring - Tapestry with water OK now go forward through the passage just granted to you. Now you will find Bugenius. He tells you all this stuff you don't really need to know about. If you don't have a mage in your party, then you have no choice but to let him join or else you can't continue the game. Well now Scaladars (Scorpions) are going to come to you like they love you or something. Well this is what's cool: You can attack them and they won't attack you since you are wearing Trobriand's Ring. Well sadly, you will have to give that up to continue the game. After all the Scaladars are dead, find a niche with a sign on its left and right. Put the ring in there and a passage will replace where the niche once was. There will be a pulling rope with a door on its left and right. Pull the rope and go right. Go find a grate. There will be scaladars behind the grate to the left and right. ======== 7. Q/As ======== Q - ARGH! Something is jammed, I can't open it! A - Calm down. You just need a thief in your party or a Giant Strength potion to do the job. Just pick it and you are free! Q - Hey I see some videos on YouTube where the players don't use their mouse to turn. How do I do that? A - Turn off Num Lock and use the 7 and 9 keys on the pad. Q - Are there any NPCs I should keep? A - Yes. Keep Delmair. His White Tiger skills are VERY EXTREMELY helpful. Even in the later levels... Q - Would the game be easier if I had only mages, fighter/mages and fighter/cleric/mages? A - Yes, its quite helpful, but don't forget a mage/thief! Q - CRAP! Those sword wraiths keep making me weaker!!!!! A - Just ignore it. No matter how much they do it. Just don't bother. That's what I did. Q - Do you like this game? A - Yes, but not as much as Eye of the Beholder II. But most people who have seen/played this game hate it. Q - Your walkthrough didn't help me at all! YOU SUCK! A - Calm down and just e-mail me. I can help you!!! And don't say any insults to me or I won't help you. Q - Have you completed this game yet? A - Sadly, no. I'm stuck in the guild. Q - How do I tranfer characters from EOB1? A - OK this is tricky: Transfer your characters from Eob1 to Eob2 to Eob3. Just look for the character tranfer utility in the game's file. Q - In the mausoleum, under the switch that needs to be pulled down, the plaque over it says "SEALED DOWNSTAIRS UNTIL DEFEAT IS BROUGHT TO HIM" who am I supposed to defeat? A - Noone, ignore what the plaques say. They are useless. You will not be sealed downstairs. So Don't worry. Its just something about Captain F. Q - Why didn't you post the Copy Protection in this walkthrough? A - Because its illegal. Let's just leave it at that. If you want it, e-mail me. My e-mail can be located at the top of this walkthrough. Q - You're serious? ANYONE can post your FAQ on ANY page!? A - Sure, as long as they get the websites ok then I don't mind. But if you don't and get in trouble, it won't be my fault. Q - Why was this not a good game? A - Well, because of a LOT of flaws and stuff in this game. Like, most places you can't rest at. And the character's faces look like they are mad. In Eob1 and 2 they looked so happy. And also, don't you think the game is kind of short? Q - Will you NOT permit someone to post this guide on a site? A - Yes. If I get banned from a certain site, then they are NOT allowed to post this unless they unban me. Its only fair. Q - In the forest I try to go forward but I can't. Why can't I continue? A - Because you are really standing in front of a monster known as a Greater Feyr. they are one of the hardest enemies in the game. Q - Will you be posting a FAQ/Walkthrough for Eob2 and 1? A - for 2 yes, for 1 no. I am in the middle of the 2nd one as a walkthrough, Q - What's your real name? How old are you? Where do you live? A - Well, I don't really want to do this but, my real name is Nicholas Kalata, I am a 13-Year-Old Male, and I live in Lake Stevens, Washington. I will NOT give out any further info about myself for my safety. ================================ 8. Hints and Cheats - MUST SEE! ================================ OK here are some cool cheats: NPC Portraits from Eye of the Beholder II Name your character after one of the NPCs from EoB 2 to get their face in Gameplay. Cheats (Regular) Go to the prompt for this game (I don't know how, please e-mail me on how to if you know) and type in SET AESOP_DIAG=1 and press stuff. =========================================== 9. Copy Protection (Journal Entry Answers) =========================================== If you want the copy protection answers please e-mail me. My e-mail can be found at the top of this walkthrough. ================== 10. Contacting Me ================== Well, my e-mail is [email protected] (can be located at the top) and if you are going to tell or ask me something, make sure you name the subject Eob3, Eye of the Beholder III, Eye of the Beholder 3, or To Doommaster1994 =========================== 11.
