I. VERSION HISTORY
~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
V1.0 (8/12/06) New release.
-=-=<>=-=-
II. PURPOSE OF THE GUIDE
~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
I am writing this guide to help explain the system of progressing through the
game's quests that we use on Multiplayer Diablo 2. In it, I hope to teach people
to become better at rushing someone, and to let new players know what to do and
where to be during a rush. The Rush walkthrough will be in a series of steps.

NOTE TO READER - The level requirements for the Ancients' quests in the 3 modes
changes as you go. In Normal, it is 20. In Nightmare, 40, and in Hell, 60. I did
not know where to put this to get it seen by everyone without typing it in twice
so, I put it right at the top.

III. RUSHER TIPS
~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
This section will give you pointers on what character types make good rushers.
First off, let me say the NO character who cannot Teleport is an efficient
rusher. It is very irritating to the rushee when they have to wait a long time
for a walking character to find where they're going. A Sorceress should ALWAYS
be able to Teleport. If your character is not a Sorceress, equip them with an
Enigma armor. It allows anyone to Teleport. Now I will list some character
builds that are good at rushing. To see how to make these characters, look for a
guide on Gamefaqs.com. They are a lot of good ones there.
1. A Blessed Hammer Paladin (AKA Hammerdin) is hands down the best rushing
character. They are fast casters so they Teleport quick, they block most hits to
them, so they won't die so easy, and they can kill any monster that isn't a
Magic Immune Animal Class monster.
2. Any Sorceress besides a melee Sorceress is great for rushing in Normal and
Nightmare difficulties. In Hell difficulty, they have problems with immunities
to their element type in monsters.
3. A Bone Necromancer is also a good rushing character. Similar to a Hammerdin,
they use a magical attack too. So they can kill anything but a Magic Immune. The
difference is that they can't kill ANY Magic Immunes. The hammer a Paladin casts
is a blessed thing. It will hurt an Undead or a Demon no matter what. The
advantage a Bone Necromancer has over the Hammerdin is their attack can be shot
a good distance. So basically, killing ability was sacrificed for more range.
4. A Wind Druid. See my guide on the Hurricane Druid for this build. No special
notes about this character aside from being good at killing things.
IV. PERSPECTIVE OF THE RUSHER
~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
This section will teahc you how to do a rush quickly and efficiently. It will be
a walkthrough of what to do in each of the 5 Acts to get a person through the
difficulty setting they are on. This is written under the assumption that this
Rush is being done for free. If it is not being done for free, you will either
accept the item payment before the rush is started, or after act 2. If you're
doing this rush for the forge, you will have to do the Hellforge quest in Act 4
and collect the runes/gems. I will include the way to do this at the end of this
section. Let's get going.

Act One

V. PERSPECTIVE OF THE RUSHEE
~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
Getting a rush involves a lot of waiting. Most of the time, you will be sitting
in town waiting for a Town Portal from the Rusher. This section is written under
the assumption that the person rushing you is giving you waypoints as you go
along. If this is not true, skip over the steps that involve getting waypoints.
The golden rule about getting a rush is STAY DEAD if you die while your partner
is killing a boss or something for you. You will get the quest if you have not
hit escape if you died close enough to the boss. Reincarnate after the Rusher
gives you the OK. The details of how to do the Hellforge quest (common payment
for rush) is at the end of this section.
Act One
<>:<>:<>:<>
1. Get the Catacombs Level 2 waypoint.
2. Wait for a Town Portal from level 4.
3. Go in and watch Andariel die.
4. Go back to Town and talk to Warriv.
5. Select Go East from the menu when Warriv is done talking.
Act Two
<>:<>:<>:<>
1. Get the Halls of the Dead Level 2 waypoint.*
2. Wait for a Town Portal from Halls of the Dead Level 3.*
3. Open the chest if it's not open already and pick up the Horadric Cube.*
4. Get the Far Oasis waypoint.
5. Wait for a Town Portal from the Maggot Lair Level 3.
6. Open the chest if it's not open already and pick up the Staff of Kings.
7. Get the Lost City waypoint.
8. Wait for a Town Portal from the Claw Viper Temple Level 2.
9. Click on the Tainted Sun Altar to break it and pick up the Claw Viper Amulet.
10. Put the Claw Viper Amulet and the Staff of Kings into the Horadric Cube and
transmute them. If you think you lost the amulet, you are probably equipped with
it.
11. Talk to Drognan and Deckard Cain when the Horadric Staff is made.
12. Get the Arcane Sactuary waypoint.
13. Wait for another Town Portal from the Arcane Sanctuary.
14. Go in and watch The Summoner die.
15. Click on the book on the pedestal and go through the red portal.
16. Go to the waypoint just outside the red portal and go back to town.
17. Tell the rusher the sign of the True Tomb of Tal Rasha from your quest log,
quest number 6.
18. Wait for a Town Portal from Tal Rasha's Tomb.
19. Put the Horadric Staff into the Orifice on the floor.
20. Wait for the wall to get a hole blasted into it and go into the hole.
21. Watch Duriel die.
22. Go through the hallway after Duriel dies and talk to Tyrael.
23. Go back to town and talk to Jerhyn in the palace.
24. Talk to Meshif by the place where the Town Portals appear.
25. Select Sail East when he shuts up.
Act Three
<>:<>:<>:<>:<>
1. Get the Travincal waypoint.
4. Wait for a Town Portal from Durance of Hate Level 3.
5. Watch Mephisto die.
6. Pick up the Mephisto's Soulstone from his body.
Act Four
<>:<>:<>:<>:<>
1. Get the River of Flame waypoint.
2. Wait for a Town Portal from Chaos Sanctuary.
3. Wait in the middle of the pentagram on the floor and avoid dying.
4. Watch Diablo die. To avoid being killed by his Flame Nova, go north and on
the corner of the wall just outside of the pentagram is a piece of outhanging
wall. Hide behind it.
5. Talk to Tyrael and go to Harrogath.**
Act Five***
<>:<>:<>:<>:<>
1. Get the Ancients' Way waypoint.
2. Wait for a Town Portal from either the Ancients' Way again or the Arreat
Summit.
3. Activate the Altar of Heavens of the Arreat Summit and watch the Ancients
die.
The Hellforge Quest
<>:<>:<>:<>:<>:<>:<>:<>
1. Wait for a Town Portal from the River of Flame.
2. Search the floor for the Hellforge Hammer.
3. Click on the Hellforge in the middle of the area to put Mephisto's Soulstone
on it.
4. Click on it three times with the Hellforge Hammer equipped to break it.
5. Back away and let the Rusher have the gems and the rune.
* Only do these steps if you do not have a Horadric Cube.
** This is where you stop if you are playing Non-Expansion Diablo II.
*** Do not do this Act until you are level 20 or higher. There is a level
requirement on the Ancients' quest.
VI. GLITCH RUSHING
~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
Remember where I wrote that you have to be level 20 to do the Ancients' quest?
You do, but there is a way to bypass this quest and defeat Baal anyway. This is
called a glitch rush. A glitch rush is worth the time it takes to do for one
reason. You can be level 60 in just 4 hours this way! I will tell you how this
is accomplished in this section. This is written for both the Rusher and Rushee.

Glitched Baal Quest
<>:<>:<>:<>:<>:<>:<>:<>

1. Get your Rusher and someone who needs their normal Baal quest done who has
beaten the Ancients but not Baal yet.

2. Have the Rusher Teleport down to The Throne of Destruction from the
Worldstone Keep Level 2 waypoint and get into Baal's Throne Room.

3. Clear the room of the initial monsters that are in there and cast a Town
Portal in a corner of the room.

4. Kill all five waves of monsters that Baal spawns.

5. Go into the Worldstone Chamber after Baal runs away.

6. Kill Baal once the person who needs their quest is done.

The Rushee should have been in the party and in Harrogath this whole time.
Repeat this process in Nightmare difficulty to get to Hell difficulty. Then get
a rush in Hell up until Act Four. After you reach Act 4, join public Chaos Runs.
Those are experience gaining games that let your experience skyrocket up until
Level 60! From level 20-25 experience will be slow. I don't know why. Well,
there you have it; how to rush, get rushed, and how to glitch rush. I hope it
helps. This guide better make some of you better rushers!
