Build-A-Lot Non-Fancy Super Efficiency Guide Welcome to the Build-A-Lot Non-Fancy Super Efficiency Guide. It is Non-Fancy, because I see no point in making this guide look nice. It will contain information necessary for you to finish all levels of Build-A-Lot with super efficiency, and that's it. In that regard the copyright is that there is no copyright. Do whatever you want with this guide, aside from gaining some form of advantage using my work as your own. If you post this somewhere, and drop an e-mail to [email protected] to let me know I will be grateful. So, this guide is not for those who have no idea how to upgrade a house or something basic like that. It is for people who want to finish all of the levels, whilst earning the super efficiency award, and whilst maximizing their career earning all at the same time. This means some of the levels will be really challenging, and you will usually end up finishing the level very close to the efficiency marker, so hang on to your pants. I will not waste any time on the tutorial levels, as if you can't finish those at super efficiency you should probably watch Teletubbies instead. Level 4 - Pleasant Valley 1 of 3 Starting resources: - Money: $50,000 - Workers: 3 - Materials: 500 - 1 Rambler - 3 Empty lots Immediate goals: - Draft the Colonial blueprint - Own 1 Colonial - Own 2 Ramblers - Rental income of $6,000 Goals revealed (that is, the goals you do not know about when you start the level and are revealed when you get close to completing your original goals): - None Steps: 1. Sell the Rambler. 2. Draft the Colonial blueprint. 3. Build Colonial 1. 4. Sell Colonial 1. 5. Order 1,000 materials. 6. Build Colonial 2. 7. Build Colonial 3 + upgrade Colonial 2 (1/3). 8. Upgrade Colonial 3 (1/3) + upgrade Colonial 2 (2/3). 9. Upgrade Colonial 3 (2/3) + upgrade Colonial 2 (3/3). 10. Upgrade Colonial 3 (3/3). 11. Buy the empty lot, or one of the Ramblers, whichever is offered. 12. Build Colonial 4 on the empty lot, or instead of the Rambler you have just bought. 13. Upgrade Colonial 4 all the way to three stars (3/3). 14. Buy a Rambler. 15. Upgrade this Rambler all the way to three stars (3/3). 16. Buy the other Rambler. Starting career earnings: $0 Ending career earnings: $591,000 Level 5 - Pleasant Valley 2 of 3 Starting resources: - Money: $50,000 - Workers: 3 - Materials: 600 - 3 Empty lots Immediate goals: - Own 3 Colonials - Rental income of $10,000 Goals revealed: - None Steps: 1. Build Colonial 1. 2. Get +1 worker. 3. Build Colonial 2. 4. Sell Colonial 1 immediately after it is built (it should be selected whilst it is constructed to ensure a swift click on the sell button). The reason you have to hurry is that since this is the level that teaches you what a great thing it is, when one of your houses becomes damaged, the first house you leave alone for like 2 seconds will become damaged automatically. 5. Build Colonial 3. 6. Wait a second after Colonial 2 has been built, so that it can become damaged. Repair it. 7. Order 1,000 materials. 8. Sell Colonial 3. 9. Buy an empty lot / Rambler, whichever is offered. 10. Turn this latest purchase into a Colonial. 11. You now have two Colonials. Do not upgrade them yet. Instead, buy two more offered items, and turn them into two more Colonials. 12. You now have four Colonials. Immediately after you get a round of rent upgrade all of them (1/3). If you are a swift clicker, all of the upgrades will finish before the next round of rent. 13. Order 100 materials. 14. Immediately after you get a round of rent upgrade all of your Colonials (2/3). If you are a swift clicker, all of the upgrades will finish before the next round of rent. 15. Your rental income is now $9,600, just below the goal. Upgrade one of the Colonials, then wait a second after the workers start, and upgrade another. Select one of the two-star Colonials, and as soon as the first three-star Colonial is ready - whilst the second one is still being upgraded to three-stars - upgrade this third Colonial. Select the last two-star Colonial, and as soon as the second three-star Colonial is ready, upgrade this last Colonial. This will ensure that before you complete the goals, and win the level all upgrades will finish, and you will end up with four three-star Colonials. Starting career earnings: $591,000 Ending career earnings: $1,195,800 Level 6 - Pleasant Valley 3 of 3 Starting resources: - Money: $75,000 - Workers: 3 - Materials: 750 - 5 Empty lots Immediate goals: - Draft the Post Office blueprint - Own a Post Office - Rental income of $12,000 Goals revealed: - None Steps: What a coincidence, you have five empty lots, and the exact amount of materials to build five Colonials. We will do so, but make sure that Colonial 1 and 2 are built as close to the curve in the road as possible. The reason for this is it takes your workers the most time to get to those lots. The best would be to have as many lots on the right hand side (where the road enters the screen, since your workers will arrive from there) as possible. Definitely at least three, where you will build Colonial 3, 4, and 5. You want quick access to these for your workers when they upgrade these houses. If most or all of your lots are on the left hand side restart the level. 1. Build Colonial 1. 2. Get +1 worker. 3. As soon as he arrives build Colonial 2. 4. As soon as Colonial 1 is ready, build Colonial 3, and sell Colonial 1. 5. As soon as Colonial 2 is ready, build Colonial 4. 6. Colonial 1 should be sold sometime now, immediately offer Colonial 2 for sale. 7. Order 1,000 materials. 8. As soon as Colonial 3 is ready, build Colonial 5. 9. Colonial 2 should be sold around now, and something should have been offered. If you are lucky, it will be the empty lot, if not, the Rambler. Buy it, and turn it into Colonial 6. 10. You now have four Colonials. Immediately after you get a round of rent, upgrade all of them, starting with those that are to the left, since the ones on the right will be reached by your workers practically instantly (1/3). 11. The upgrades should finish before you get another round of rent (this method will be referred to as the rent-upgrade timing trick), when you do so, upgrade the houses again (2/3). 12. Regardless of anything up for sale, do not buy it. Buy 1,000 materials instead, when you have the money, and upgrade your Colonials again, in two rounds (3/3). 13. Check the timer. If it has not reached the letter 'N' in DEADLINE yet, buy the next offered item, and turn it into a three-star Colonial. You will probably get a damaged house sometime during this, take care of it (I will not mention things like this unless they are important for some reason). 14. When the timer reaches the middle of letter 'N', buy the next available thing. Whatever it is, it will be turned into the Post Office, so demolish it (if the rent is due very soon you might want to wait that 1 or 2 seconds to get the money for this building). 15. You now have the place for the Post Office, and you should have enough materials left for it. It requires 350 materials, and 4 workers. If you do not have enough materials, order as much as you need. If one of your houses becomes damaged right about now, do not fix it yet, unless you are really short on cash for the blueprint (you should not be, with the rent-upgrade timing trick). 16. Draft the Post Office blueprint, as soon as you have the $25,000 for it. 17. Build the Post Office. Starting career earnings: $1,195,800 Ending career earnings: $3,142,800 Level 7 - River Glen 1 of 4 Starting resources: - Money: $75,000 - Workers: 3 - Materials: 750 - 4 Empty lots Immediate goals: - Draft the Tudor blueprint - Own 2 Tudors - Own 1 three-star Rambler - Rental income of $16,000 Goals revealed: - None Steps: 1. Draft the Tudor blueprint. 2. Build Tudor 1. 3. Build Tudor 2. 4. Sell Tudor 1. 5. Order 2,500 materials. 6. Build Tudor 3. 7. Sell Tudor 2. 8. Build Tudor 4. 9. Get +3 workers. 10. Buy the first thing you can (with a little luck it will be a Rambler), and turn it into Tudor 5. 11. Sell Tudor 3. 12. Now you have quite a bit of money ($150,000+), workers, and materials (2,000+). Start upgrading your existing Tudors using the rent-upgrade timing trick, buy everything you can, and turn them into three-star Tudors. If you start to be low on cash, sell one of the Tudors you have built after demolishing another building. If you can, spare the last Rambler, as you will need it, but if you have demolished it already, do not worry. Keep your eye on the timer, and when it reaches the 'N' in DEADLINE, purchase the next available item, and turn it into the three-star Rambler. You should have ended up with four three-star Tudors, and a three-star Rambler. Starting career earnings: $3,142,800 Ending career earnings: $4,591,100 Level 8 - River Glen 2 of 4 Starting resources: - Money: $25,000 - Workers: 3 - Materials: 1,000 - 5 Empty lots Immediate goals: - Own 4 Tudors - $150,000 in cash - Rental income of $25,000 Goals revealed: - Own 1 three-star Colonial Steps: 1. Build Tudor 1. 2. Build Tudor 2. 3. Sell Tudor 1. 4. Order 2,500 materials. 5. Build Tudor 3. 6. Sell Tudor 2. 7. Get +3 workers. 8. Build Tudor 4. 9. Build Tudor 5. 10. Sell Tudor 3. 11. You should now have plenty of money ($200,000+), 6 workers, and plenty of materials (around 2,000). There is still a lot of time left, so start upgrading your houses using the rent-upgrade timing trick. Unfortunately the route of your workers will practically ensure that you will fail the rent when you upgrade your Tudors from two to three stars. 12. Buy everything that is offered, and turn it into a three-star Tudor, EXCEPT for the Colonial. If you buy that, upgrade it to TWO stars, and leave it there. You might run out of materials, buy a 1,000 bunch (you probably will not need more than that, if you do, handle the problem). 13. You can safely buy everything, even Tudors, as your rent will be very high, and even if you hit the right-hand edge of the letter 'L' in DEADLINE with no money you will be able to accumulate the $150,000 if you have at least 5 three-star Tudors. 14. When you buy the last Tudor, upgrade it to three stars, and in the mean time, upgrade the Colonial to three-stars. You should have at least 6 three-star Tudors, if you were lucky / quick / good, you might have ended up with 7 three-star Tudors. Starting career earnings: $4,591,100 Ending career earnings: $7,234,700 Level 9 - River Glen 3 of 4 Starting resources: - Money: $100,000 - Workers: 3 - Materials: 2,000 - 5 Empty lots Immediate goals: - Draft the Workshop blueprint - Own 1 Workshop - Employ 6 workers - Own 5 Tudors upgraded with three stars Goals revealed: - None Steps: 1. Build Tudor 1. 2. Build Tudor 2. 3. Sell Tudor 1. 4. Order 2,500 materials. 5. Build Tudor 3. 6. Draft the Workshop blueprint. 7. Sell Tudor 2. 8. Build a Workshop. 9. Get +3 workers. 10. You should have a lot of cash, so start buying the smaller buildings, and turn them into Tudors. 11. When you get below $100,000, sell one of your Tudors. 12. Continue and buy up all the small houses, and turn them into Tudors. 13. Start upgrading your Tudors with stars using the rent-upgrade timing trick. 14. You will probably run out materials in the mean time. Order 1,000. You will need more later, but 2,500 is overkill, even with the damages. 15. When you have 4 three-star Tudors, DO NOT upgrade the fifth one to three stars, only two. 16. When you are almost out of time, upgrade any two-star Tudors to three stars. You should end up with 7 three-star Tudors in the end. Starting career earnings: $7,234,700 Ending career earnings: $10,686,400 Level 10 - River Glen 4 of 4 Starting resources: - Money: $75,000 - Workers: 3 - Materials: 750 - 6 Empty lots Immediate goals: - Draft the Library blueprint - Own 1 Library - Rental income of $30,000 Goals revealed: - Own 2 Ramblers upgraded with three stars Steps: 1. Build Tudor 1. 2. Build Tudor 2. 3. Sell Tudor 1. 4. Sell Tudor 2. 5. Order 5,000 materials. 6. Something will probably be up for sale now, so buy it. 7. Build Tudor 3. 8. Sell Tudor 3. 9. Right about now another item should be up for sale, buy it. 10. You now have a lot of money, and materials, so get new workers, and then simply start upgrading and buying everything, and turn them into three-star Tudors, EXCEPT for the two last Ramblers. Upgrade them to three stars, to complete the in-game goal. 11. When the end is getting close, draft the Library blueprint, and then build it on the lot of your last acquisition. Starting career earnings: $10,686,400 Ending career earnings: $15,181,100 Level 11 - Evergreen Park 1 of 5 Starting resources: - Money: $150,000 - Workers: 3 - Materials: 1,000 - 4 Empty lots Immediate goals: - Own 2 Estates - No empty lots - Rental income of $35,000 Goals revealed: - None Steps: 1. Build a Tudor. 2. Draft the Estate blueprint. 3. Sell the Tudor as soon as it is complete. 4. Get +2 workers (yes, two, and not three, because the first offered item might be a Colonial, and not an empty lot, and buying +3 workers now will leave you with insufficient funds to buy the Colonial - if this happens you will loose money when you sell something at the same time). 5. Build Estate 1. 6. Sell Estate 1. 7. Something will probably be up for sale now, buy it, but do not demolish immediately. 8. Order 5,000 materials. 9. Build a Workshop (if you have something that is not demolished now would be a good time to do so, as you have two workers that do nothing whilst the others build the Workshop). 10. Something might be up for sale again, buy it but do not demolish it yet, as you should first build Estates. 11. Build Estate 2. 12. Sell Estate 2. 13. Build Estate 3. 14. Get +3 workers. 15. Get +3 workers again. 16. Build Estate 4. 17. You now have plenty of resources and two Estates, so start upgrading those using the now well known trick. Also start buying up everything and turning them into three-star Estates. MAKE SURE you always have at least one empty lot, or else you will finish the level prematurely. If a building is being demolished, the lot counts as empty, so as soon as you start demolishing a smaller house you can start building an Estate on the other empty lot. 18. It is likely that right before the end one of the existing Estates will be offered for sale, you should have enough money to buy it. Before you do that if you really want to hit the most career earnings you might have a chance to upgrade the previously acquired Estate to one star. You should end up with 6 three-star Estates, 1 one-star Estate, and 1 Estate. Starting career earnings: $15,181,100 Ending career earnings: $21,111,900 Level 12 - Evergreen Park 2 of 5 Starting resources: - Money: $75,000 - Workers: 3 - Materials: 750 - 6 Empty lots Immediate goals: - Own 1 Workshop - Inspect 1 house - Own 4 Estates Goals revealed: - $250,000 in cash Steps: Try to be quick about the first four steps. Meaning, when you build the first house, aim for a lot in the middle, as your workers will get there the fastest. As soon as it starts building, select another empty lot in the middle, and hover your mouse over the build Tudor button, and as soon as Tudor 1 is ready, click it, then sell Tudor 1 immediately. The reason for this hurry is that sometimes you can sell the second Tudor before anything gets offered (usually the Rambler is the one), and can order 5,000 materials instead of 2,500. This might make it possible to finish the level with an additional fully upgraded Estate, netting you $390,000 more in career earnings. Only for perfectionists 8-) 1. Build Tudor 1. 2. Build Tudor 2. 3. Sell Tudor 1. 4. If you are not a perfectionist, order 2,500 materials. If you are, do not order anything yet. 5. Sell Tudor 2. 6. If you are a perfectionist, order 5,000 materials now. If you have already ordered the 2,500 materials in step 4, buy the offered item (make sure it leaves you above $120,000, which is needed for the +6 workers after the Workshop is built). 7. Build a Workshop. 8. Get +3 workers. 9. As soon as they arrive, build Estate 1. 10. Get +3 workers again. 11. Build Estate 2. 12. Sell Estate 1. 13. Build Estate 3. 14. Something should be offered sometime now, buy it, and turn it into Estate 4. 15. You will probably also need to order another 5,000 materials. 16. Now you have three Estates, and a lot of materials. Start upgrading the Estates, and inspect them (you might fail in collecting the rent during inspection). 17. Now starts the fun part. Most of the houses that are not yours are Tudors. This means you will have to keep your cash over $150,000, to buy any that is offered. But you also need to keep your cash below $250,000, or you win the level. The easiest way to do so, is to keep oredering materials. Always aim for an amount (usually 1,000, sometimes 2,500) that will leave you with the right amount of cash. Keep an eye on how much rental income you will receive, so that you do not accidentally end up with too much money. 18. When the timer reaches the middle of letter 'L' in DEADLINE, you will have just enough time to upgrade a no-star Estate to a three-star Estate. So anything you purchase from now on will probably not get upgraded all the way (inspection is not that interesting, as it does not raise the value of a house). You should end up having 8 three-star Estates, probably all of them inspected also. If you are really really lucky / quick / good, you might have ended up with 9 three-star Estates. Took me about fifteen tries for the sake of this guide. I have once epic failed by $5,000... Starting career earnings: $21,111,900 Ending career earnings: $27,893,400 Level 13 - Evergreen Park 3 of 5 Starting resources: - Money: $100,000 - Workers: 4 - Materials: 1,000 - 5 Empty lots Immediate goals: - Own 1 Bank - Rental income of $40,000 Goals revealed: - Own 2 three-star Tudors Steps: 1. Get +1 worker, and +250 materials. 2. When the worker arrives build Estate 1. 3. Build Estate 2. 4. Sell Estate 1. 5. Order +5,000 materials. 6. Sell Estate 2. 7. Something might get offered now. If it is something small, a Rambler or a Colonial, buy it, but since you don't have all that many workers yet, do not demolish it. 8. Get +3 workers. 9. Build Estate 3. 10. Get +3 workers (you might have a chance to demolish that house if you bought it earlier). 11. Something might get offered again, if it is something small buy it. 12. Sell Estate 3. 13. You now have a lot of everything, so start building and trick-upgrading Estates. The layout of the level is terrible, you will fail quite a bit of rent, especially with the three-star upgrades. One thing that might help is the letter-trick. When you receive a letter, send your workers to do something, and then immediately open the letter. This pauses the timer for everything, including DEADLINE, but your workers can still move, and get to their destination. You can thus spare a second or so (they will not start their task until you close the letter of course). 14. When you have the chance, buy the two Tudors. Do not demolish them, as the hidden goal is to have two of these upgraded to three-stars. This is good, since you can stop upgrading the second Tudor after two stars, and thus have an easy way to almost instantly finish the level. 15. When the timer reaches the 'I' in DEADLINE, your next purchase should be the one that you turn into a Bank. When you get it, demolish it, and draft the Bank blueprint. 16. Build the Bank, and when the timer is almost up, upgrade the second Tudor to three stars. You should end up with at least 6 three-star Estates, quite probably even 7, aside from the two Tudors and the Bank. Starting career earnings: $27,893,400 Ending career earnings: $34,608,300 Level 14 - Evergreen Park 4 of 5 Starting resources: - Money: $100,000 - Workers: 4 - Materials: 1,000 - 6 Empty lots Immediate goals: - Own 5 three-star Estates - No empty lots - Rental income of $75,000 Goals revealed: - $500,000 in cash Steps: 1. Get +1 worker, and +250 materials. 2. When the worker arrives build Estate 1. 3. Build Estate 2. 4. Sell Estate 1. 5. Order +5,000 materials. 6. Sell Estate 2. 7. If something small is offered around now, buy it, but do not demolish it yet, as you have very few workers. 8. Build Estate 3. 9. Get +3 workers. 10. Build Estate 4 (you might have a chance to demolish that earlier building now). 11. Sell Estate 3. 12. Something small might be offered again, buy it, and demolish it if you can spare the workers. 13. Get +3 workers. 14. Build Estate 5. 15. Get +3 workers. 16. From now on it should be obvious that you have to buy and turn everything you can into a three-star Estate, whilst making sure you do not run out of materials (try to buy them in 5,000 bunches). It should not be a problem with all the experience you have by now. Your last purchase should be around when the meter reaches the right-hand side of the letter 'L' in DEADLINE, as you will still have time to upgrade it to three-stars and get the required $500,000, even if you had almost none after the purchase. You should end up with 11 three-star Estates. Starting career earnings: $34,608,300 Ending career earnings: $42,284,550 Level 15 - Evergreen Park 5 of 5 Starting resources: - Money: $100,000 - Workers: 4 - Materials: 750 - 6 Empty lots Immediate goals: - Own 1 Bank - 1 Bank donating to charity - Rental income of $80,000 Goals revealed: - None Steps: 1. Get +1 worker, and +500 materials. 2. When the worker arrives build Estate 1. 3. Build Estate 2. 4. Sell Estate 1. 5. Order +5,000 materials. 6. Sell Estate 2. 7. If something small is offered around now, buy it, but do not demolish it yet, as you have very few workers. 8. Build Estate 3. 9. Get +3 workers. 10. Build Estate 4 (you might have a chance to demolish that earlier building now). 11. Sell Estate 3. 12. Something small might be offered again, buy it, and demolish it if you can spare the workers. 13. Get +3 workers. 14. Build Estate 5. 15. Get +3 workers. 16. Since you have easy control over immediately winning this level (you can do so with one click when setting the Bank to donate) it is not that hard to figure out where to go from here. Start upgrading your Estates, buy everything you can, and turn it into another three-star Estate. It also makes sense to build a Workshop on this level when you have at least four Estates, and inspect them, so that you do not have to fool around with repairs. The property taxes are enough of a headache, but at least you can get rid of that with one click and no workers. While the DEADLINE is going to be very close, it is not all that hard to finish the level with a Bank, a Workshop, and everything else turned into a three-star Estate (11 of them). Starting career earnings: $42,284,550 Ending career earnings: $52,152,350 Level 16 - Lakeside 1 of 5 Starting resources: - Money: $100,000 - Workers: 4 - Materials: 750 - 6 Empty lots Immediate goals: - Own 2 premier lots - Rental income of $85,000 Goals revealed: - No empty lots - 3 three-star Tudors Steps: 1. Get +1 worker, and +500 materials. 2. When the worker arrives build Estate 1. 3. Build Estate 2. 4. Sell Estate 1. 5. Order +5,000 materials. 6. Sell Estate 2. 7. If something small is offered around now, buy it, but do not demolish it yet, as you have very few workers. 8. Build a Workshop (you might have a chance to demolish that earlier building now). 9. Build Estate 3. 10. Get +3 workers. 11. Build Estate 4. 12. Sell Estate 3. 13. Something small might be offered again in the mean time, buy it, and demolish it if you can spare the workers. 14. Get +3 workers. 15. Build Estate 5. 16. Get +3 workers. 17. This level is actually easy to win, so start upgrading / buying and turning everything into a three-star Estate, except for the two Tudors. You will probably need to sell one of your Estates to get another 5,000 materials, or cash, but other than that you should not have a hard time. Upgrade the two Tudors, and turn the very last Estate into the third three-star Tudor. You should end up with a Workshop, 3 three-star Tudors, and every other lot should have a three-star Estate. Starting career earnings: $52,152,350 Ending career earnings: $60,963,250 Level 17 - Lakeside 2 of 5 Starting resources: - Money: $100,000 - Workers: 4 - Materials: 1,000 - 7 Empty lots Immediate goals: - Own 1 Mansion - $1,000,000 in the bank - Rental income of $100,000 Goals revealed: - None Steps: 1. Get +1 worker, and +250 materials. 2. When the worker arrives build Estate 1. 3. Build Estate 2. 4. Sell Estate 1. 5. Order +5,000 materials. 6. Sell Estate 2. 7. If something small is offered around now, buy it, but do not demolish it yet, as you have very few workers. Definitely draft the Mansion blueprint in the meantime. 8. Build a Workshop whilst the blueprint arrives (you might have a chance to demolish that earlier building now). 9. Get +3 workers. 10. Build Mansion 1. 11. Sell Mansion 1. 12. Order +5,000 materials and +6 workers alltogether. 13. Start building Mansions, buying whatever you can and upgrading your Mansions. When you start to be low on cash, sell one non-upgraded Mansion. Also keep an eye on materials, as Mansions consume them rapidly. 14. This level is easy, you can finish with a Workshop and a three-star Mansion on all other lots without too much trouble. Starting career earnings: $60,963,250 Ending career earnings: $79,355,550 Level 18 - Lakeside 3 of 5 Starting resources: - Money: $100,000 - Workers: 4 - Materials: 1,000 - 4 Empty lots Immediate goals: - Own 3 Mansions on premier lots - No empty lots - Rental income of $150,000 Goals revealed: - Own 2 two-star Estates Steps: This level is almost identical to the previous one, except for one small detail, you will need 2 two-star Estates too. Just follow the steps described for the previous level, build two Estates at the beginning, and make sure you spare two Estates, whilst turning everything else into a Workshop and fully upgraded + inspected Mansions. When you get the first, upgrade it to two stars, then inspect it. When you get the second one, upgrade it to one star, then stop. This way have an almost immediate means to finish the level. You might want to inspect it, so that it does not become damaged. It will loose the inspection when you upgrade it to the second star, but that is not a problem, since inspections do not raise the value of houses. Starting career earnings: $79,355,550 Ending career earnings: $95,944,850 Level 19 - Lakeside 4 of 5 Starting resources: - Money: $100,000 - Workers: 5 - Materials: 1,000 - 6 Empty lots Immediate goals: - Own 7 Mansions - Inspect 5 houses - $1,000,000 in the bank Goals revealed: - None Steps: Again this level is pretty similar to the previous two. You have 5 workers at the beginning, so you do not have to order one to build an Estate. Do so immediately, then order 250 materials, sell the first Estate, build the second, sell it, Workshop, +5,000 materials, +9 or so workers, everything turned into a Mansion, you know the drill by now. You should finish with a Workshop and a fully upgraded Mansion on every lot but one. Near the end, when you have everytihng but the cash requirement, keep ordering materials to keep you below 1 million dollars, but around or above 600,000 that is needed to buy a Mansion that is for sale. Starting career earnings: $95,944,850 Ending career earnings: $116,532,750 Level 20 - Lakeside 5 of 5 Starting resources: - Money: $100,000 - Workers: 5 - Materials: 1,800 - 7 Empty lots Immediate goals: - Own 1 Saw Mill - Rental income of $180,000 Goals revealed: - Own 1 three-star Tudor Steps: Finally, something to stir things up a little. The Saw Mill. You will definitely want to build one of these on every level from now on, as you can save a lot of time, and millions of dollars on materials with it. Start by ordering two extra workers, and you can build a Mansion right after they arrive. Sell it, of course, and use the money to draft the blueprint for the Saw Mill, and order 2,500 materials which will be enough for the Workshop, the Saw Mill, and the second Mansion, which you should also sell immediately, to have cash. After that, keep turning everything into Mansions, whilst keeping an eye on the amount of materials you have. From here on, just stick to the usual deal with Mansions. It is easy to finish this level within the super-efficiency marker with a Workshop, a Saw Mill, a three-star Tudor, and every other lot with a fully upgraded Mansion. Starting career earnings: $116,532,750 Ending career earnings: $134,774,650 Level 21 - Granite Springs 1 of 5 Starting resources: - Money: $100,000 - Workers: 5 - Materials: 1,800 - 7 Empty lots Immediate goals: - Own 1 Fire Station - Own 2 Estates on premier lots - $4,000,000 in the bank Goals revealed: - None Steps: Whoa, four million in the bank? Things start to get serious. No worries, it is possible to finish this level almost perfectly (you might be able to do a perfect run, I gave up after a couple of tries). Remember, how I said for the previous level that you should always build a Saw Mill from now on? Scratch that for this level. Here we go. 1. Build an Estate. 2. Order 500 materials. 3. Sell the Estate. 4. Build a Workshop, and whilst it is being built, order 5,000 materials. 5. Get +3 workers. Get more later on, but about 11 should be enough for most of this level. 6. Start building Mansions and selling them. Buy the small houses in the meantime, demolish them, build a Mansion in their place and keep selling them. 7. When you have about two million in cash, build a bank. 8. Continue to sell Mansions. 9. When you are around three and a half million, build another bank. From now on, only buy houses and materials if you remain around (preferably above) three and a half million. This means you will have to pass on some houses that are for sale. Build Mansions when you can, and keep them from now on (upgrade and inspect them of course). 10. One more thing is important on this level, you will need two Estates on premier lots. There are three premier lots and it seems they always have a Tudor and two Mansions on them. Turn the Tudor into one of the Estates. When you buy one of the premier Mansions, keep it, and turn the second one into the second Estate instead. 11. You should be able to finish with a Workshop, a Fire Station, two banks, two premier Estates, and almost every other lot with a Mansion (you will almost surely run out of time before you can acquire the last Mansion, so build the Fire Station instead of the Mansion you buy before that). Starting career earnings: $134,774,650 Ending career earnings: $160,136,100 Level 22 - Granite Springs 2 of 5 Starting resources: - Money: $100,000 - Workers: 5 - Materials: 1,000 - 7 Empty lots Immediate goals: - Own 1 Saw Mill - Buy 3 upgrade permits - Own 3 four-star Mansions Goals revealed: - Own 5 three-star Estates Steps: 1. This level is a lot more peaceful than the last one. Start by building an Estate. 2. Order 500 materials in the meantime. 3. Build a Saw Mill. 4. Sell the Estate. 5. Order 5,000 materials. 6. Build a Workshop. 7. Get +3 workers. 8. Build a Mansion. 9. Sell the Mansion. 10. Start getting extra workers (I had 17) and building / upgrading Mansions (get permits for them and upgrade them to four stars when you have the money). You have a Saw Mill, a Workshop, and need 5 Estates. This leaves you with 9 lots for Mansions which you should get first of course, then get on with the Estates. It is easy to finish this level with a Saw Mill, a Workshop, 9 fully upgraded (this time it means four stars) and inspected Mansions, and 5 three-star Estates. Starting career earnings: $160,136,100 Ending career earnings: $176,886,650 Level 23 - Granite Springs 3 of 5 Starting resources: - Money: $100,000 - Workers: 5 - Materials: 1,000 - 8 Empty lots Immediate goals: - Own 1 Tudor on a premier lot - Own 1 Estate on a premier lot - Own 1 Mansion on a premier lot - Rental income of $200,000 Goals revealed: - None Steps: Another easy one. Follow the procedure for the previous level keeping the premier Tudor as the last building you erect (I just had to write this word down somewhere). You should finish with a Saw Mill, a Workshop, all the required buildings (four stars for all, except for the Tudor) and all other lots with four-star Mansions. Starting career earnings: $176,886,650 Ending career earnings: $196,086,000 Level 24 - Granite Springs 4 of 5 Starting resources: - Money: $100,000 - Workers: 5 - Materials: 1,000 - 6 Empty lots Immediate goals: - Have $2,000,000 in the bank - Own 5 Colonials Goals revealed: - Own a four-star Estate Steps: Suspiciously easy goals for a level this much into the game... but alas, you will only have a small extra task revealed to you. 1. Build an Estate. 2. Order 500 materials in the meantime. 3. Build a Saw Mill. 4. Sell the Estate. 5. Order 5,000 materials. 6. Build a Workshop. 7. Get +3 workers. 8. Build a Mansion. 9. Sell the Mansion. 10. You should really know the drill from here, that is, upgraded Mansions. There are 17 lots in this level, you will need two for the Workshop and the Saw Mill, five for the Colonials, and one for the Estate, leaving you with nine lots for Mansions. Definitely aim for the premier lots with these, as the required buildings can be build anywhere. You should end up with the required buildings, and fully upgraded Mansions on all other lots, except for one. Starting career earnings: $196,086,000 Ending career earnings: $214,180,100 Level 25 - Granite Springs 5 of 5 Starting resources: - Money: $100,000 - Workers: 5 - Materials: 1,000 - 8 Empty lots Immediate goals: - Own a Museum on a premier lot - Rental income of $250,000 Goals revealed: - None Steps: 1. Build an Estate. 2. Order 500 materials in the meantime. 3. Build a Saw Mill. 4. Sell the Estate. 5. Order 5,000 materials. 6. Build a Workshop. 7. Get +3 workers. 8. Build a Mansion. 9. Sell the Mansion. 10. Regular drill from here on. Can be finished with a Saw Mill, a Workshop, a Museum on a premier lot, and all other lots containing fully upgraded Mansions. Starting career earnings: $214,180,100 Ending career earnings: $238,643,950 Level 26 - Summit Ridge 1 of 5 Starting resources: - Money: $200,000 - Workers: 5 - Materials: 2,000 - 6 Empty lots Immediate goals: - Own 1 Castle - Rectal income (not a typo) of $275,000 Goals revealed: - Own 3 four-star Tudors - Own 4 four-star Estates Steps: 1. You have a significant boost in starting resources compared to the previous levels, so you can build a Mansion immediately after ordering extra workers (+2 is enough but you can get +3. The amount of money you could save by waiting for the Workshop is miniscule). 2. Order +100 materials. 3. Sell the Mansion. 4. Build a Saw Mill. Castles consume materials at a crazy rate, so you will need tens of thousands for them. 5. Order +5,000 materials, and build a Workshop. 6. Build another Mansion, then sell it. 7. Get extra workers, extra materials, and draft the blueprint for the Castle. 8. Build one as soon as you have all of this, then sell it. 9. Start building / upgrading Castles. You have altogether 17 lots, two needed for the Saw Mill and the Workshop, seven for the required Tudors and Estates, leaving you with eight for Castles. If you are a perfectionist, aim for Castles with all premier lots. 10. When all lots not owned by you are required for the Estates and the Tudors, switch to building these (some can also be bought). It is not too hard to end up with all the required houses, plus fully upgraded Castles on all other lots, including the premier lots. Starting career earnings: $238,643,950 Ending career earnings: $269,542,250 Level 27 - Summit Ridge 2 of 5 Starting resources: - Money: $100,000 - Workers: 5 - Materials: 2,000 - 5 Empty lots Immediate goals: - Own 3 Castles on premier lots - Own 3 four-star houses - Rental income of $350,000 Goals revealed: - None Steps: Oh well, almost completely back to the fewer resources. You need three premier Castles and there are three premier lots, so that kind of settles it. On the other hand the requirement for four-star houses will be met by your premier Castles anyway. 1. Get +2 workers. 2. Build a Mansion. 3. Order +100 materials. 4. Build a Saw Mill. 5. Sell the Mansion. 6. Order +5,000 materials. 7. Build a Workshop. 8. Start getting more workers and materials, whilst building Castles on every available lot. Sell the first one to have cash. It is actually harder not to win this level before owning every lot in the neighbourhood, then not winning in before the super-efficiency timer runs out. Just remember that a lot counts as empty even if the building on it is getting demolished. If you are a perfectionist, demolish your Workshop near the end, when no empty lots are available anymore, and rebuild it as the very last building, and thus have time to upgrade all Castles to four stars (only recommended for crazy people). Starting career earnings: $269,542,250 Ending career earnings: $318,078,900 Level 28 - Summit Ridge 3 of 5 Starting resources: - Money: $100,000 - Workers: 5 - Materials: 2,000 - 6 Empty lots Immediate goals: - Own 5 Castles - Own 1 Saw Mill - Rental income of $400,000 Goals revealed: - None Steps: Regular drill. Repeat steps 1-7. for the previous level, then start building and upgrading Castles. It is hard to get a fully upgraded Castle on all extra lots, but maybe you will make it. Starting career earnings: $318,078,900 Ending career earnings: $362,172,250 Level 29 - Summit Ridge 4 of 5 Starting resources: - Money: $100,000 - Workers: 5 - Materials: 2,000 - 7 Empty lots Immediate goals: - Own 1 bank - $5,000,000 in the bank - 18 empty lots Goals revealed: - None Steps: This one is special, and thus, real fun. A challenging one too. You will need to raise a lot of money, whilst destroying every building in the process, leaving only one bank standing in the end, and nothing else. The trick here is that if you only have banks, and no buildings they will pay you a very small percentage as interest. So build a bank and then a Castle, and keep building them in pairs (after starting the level the usual way, see steps 1-6. for level 27). A Workshop is not necessary for this level, so is upgrading houses. It just takes too much time, workers, and materials. When you have five Castles, and four banks, stop building banks. Instead, kick back, and let your money go above three million. After this, keep your money near this amount (preferably above), and buy every house you can. Do not do anything with them, just let them pay the rent. When the end is near, you should have close to five million in the bank, so start buying extra workers, and start demolishing everything. Banks take more time to be demolished. I had over 35 workers by the end of the level. Leave the last bank standing. Starting career earnings: $362,172,250 Ending career earnings: $381,747,700 Level 30 - Summit Ridge 5 of 5 Starting resources: - Money: $100,000 - Workers: 5 - Materials: 2,500 - 6 Empty lots Immediate goals: - Own 1 Ice Rink on a premier lot - Rental income of $400,000 Goals revealed: - Own 4 three-star Estates Steps: 1. Back to the usual deal, but this time no extra materials are necessary, since you start with 500 more. So get +2 workers. 2. Build a Mansion. 3. Build a Saw Mill. 4. Sell the Mansion. 5. Buy +5,000 materials. 6. Build a Workshop. 7. Get +3 workers. 8. Build a Castle, then sell it. 9. Regular drill from now on, extra workers, materials, upgraded Castles everywhere. Keep the second premier lot you acquire unoccupied for the Ice Rink. Keep in mind that you will need the last four lots for the Estates. Starting career earnings: $381,747,700 Ending career earnings: $423,651,700 Level 31 - Palm Grove 1 of 5 Starting resources: - Money: $100,000 - Workers: 5 - Materials: 2,500 - 6 Empty lots Immediate goals: - Own 1 Surf Shop (the game does not specifically mention it, but it needs to be built on a premier lot - as the image of it suggests when you read the level description) - Employ 12 workers Goals revealed: - Own 6 four-star ramblers - Own 1 Colonial on a premier lot Steps: The goals seem a bit too easy for the 30th level... This time you will get quite a few extra building-requirements. 1. Get +2 workers. 2. Build a Mansion. 3. Build a Saw Mill. 4. Sell the Mansion. 5. Buy +5,000 materials. 6. Build a Workshop. 7. Get +3 workers. 8. Build a Castle, then sell it. 9. Regular drill from now on, extra workers, materials, upgraded Castles everywhere. Keep in mind that both premier lots will be needed, so no Castles on those. Even if you fool around like I did, and need to demolish a few Castles for the Ramblers you should be able to finish with all requirements, fully upgraded, and your Castles also fully upgraded on all other lots. Starting career earnings: $423,651,700 Ending career earnings: $460,245,850 Level 32 - Palm Grove 2 of 5 Starting resources: - Money: $100,000 - Workers: 5 - Materials: 2,500 - 7 Empty lots Immediate goals: - Own 3 Castles on premier lots - Pwn (not a typo again, getting tired of guide-writing) 4 four-star Mansions - Own 5 four-star Estates Goals revealed: - Yeah right, with this many required buildings we do need extra goals... There are 20 lots on the entire level, and we already know what we have to do with 14 (requirements + Saw Mill + Workshop). There are three premier lots, and we also already know what to put on them. Steps: 1. Get +2 workers. 2. Build a Mansion. 3. Build a Saw Mill. 4. Sell the Mansion. 5. Buy +5,000 materials. 6. Build a Workshop. 7. Get +3 workers. 8. Build a Castle, then sell it. 9. Regular drill from now on, extra workers, materials, upgraded Castles. This time only six Castles can be built altogether (including the one you have sold), as the other lots will be required. When you are done with them, start throwing up the Mansions, and when you have enough of those, the Estates. You can finish with all the requirements plus Castles on all other lots, with everything upgraded all the way. Starting career earnings: $460,245,850 Ending career earnings: $498,994,600 Level 33 - Palm Grove 3 of 5 Starting resources: - Money: $100,000 - Workers: 5 - Materials: 2,000 - 6 Empty lots Immediate goals: - Own 1 Cinema on a premier lot - $10,000,000 in the bank Goals revealed: - 10 inspections - Own 8 houses Steps: 10 million in the bank? Sweet. Plus we start with 2,000 materials again, so do not forget to order the extra 100 to have enough for the Saw Mill after the Mansion is built. On the other hand the extra goals will be completed anyway, so that makes this one a piece of cake. 1. Get +2 workers. 2. Build a Mansion. 3. Order +100 materials. 4. Build a Saw Mill. 5. Sell the Mansion. 6. Order +5,000 materials. 7. Build a Workshop. 8. One Castle one bank until you have four banks as on one the previous levels. This is actually easier to win then that one was, as you will have a lot more money, if you let it go above five million, and keep it there, before starting to buy up everything. This time upgrade the Castles too. You might want to set one of the banks to donation so that you do not have to fool around with property taxes, which are also quite hefty for four-star Castles. If you are a perfectionist, demolish your banks near the end, and build an upgraded Castle instead of those too. Starting career earnings: $498,994,600 Ending career earnings: $561,956,250 Level 34 - Palm Grove 4 of 5 Starting resources: - Money: $100,000 - Workers: 5 - Materials: 2,000 - 6 Empty lots Immediate goals: - $10,000,000 in the bank Goals revealed: - Own 5 four-star Mansions Steps: 10 million in the bank? Sweet. Wait... 1. Get +2 workers. 2. Build a Mansion. 3. Order +100 materials. 4. Build a Saw Mill. 5. Sell the Mansion. 6. Order +5,000 materials. 7. Build a Workshop. 8. Start building Castles and selling them until you have about five million. Then build a bank. From now on, keep your cash around five million, only buying what you can afford, and turn it into a fully upgraded Castle. Except for the Mansions. With the one you have built at the beginning, there should be exactly five. Upgrade them all the way except for the last one, this way you will have an almost instantenous way of winning the level. Every other lot can have a fully upgraded Castle (maybe even demolish your bank and throw one there too, but it is true that you could do so with your Workshop and Saw Mill too). Starting career earnings: $561,956,250 Ending career earnings: $624,561,200 Level 35 - Palm Grove 5 of 5 Starting resources: - Money: $100,000 - Workers: 5 - Materials: 2,000 - 5 Empty lots Immediate goals: - Own 1 Marina on a premier lot - $15,000,000 in the bank - Rental income of $500,000 Goals revealed: - None Steps: Final level of the game. I have expected a harder one. Just do the usual drill of the last levels, sell Castles after the first steps up until you have above five million, build a bank, then start buying / building / upgrading Castles when you have the cash to do so. Congratulations for beating Build-a-Lot super-efficiently! Starting career earnings: $624,561,200 Ending career earnings: $697,070,750
