Question for Virtual Villagers: A New Home

Hello everyone,
I just started Virtual villagers and I have bought both 2nd level construction and farming.. Can someone tell me in what order should I continue to purchase technology? And what does Science technology do for my village and villagers? Thanks lots....

Science allows you to gain tech points faster. (You can see what each of the technologies will do for you, more or less, if you hit the red question mark button next to each technology name.) I like to do the 2nd level of construction and farming first, then science, then medicine for longevity. Then, if my people are having trouble keeping up with food, I'll do the 3rd level of farming, but if not, I try to make it to the 3rd level of science next, since it makes everything else come quicker. I don't bother with even the 2nd level of spirituality until I have the 3rd level of science, farming, medicine, and construction unless somebody dies (It depresses me to watch the sad little bodies decomposing out in the open.), and I don't worry about fertility at all until I already have absolutely everything else. You might invest in the 2nd level of fertility earlier if you're impatient about how many tries it take to get your people making babies.
