Dismantle Loot

When you have a piece of gear in Outriders that becomes obsolete but has a useful mod attached, it is possible to dismantle it in order to craft that mod onto other gear. Weapons and armor are dismantled from your inventory, the resources gained from dismantling are as follows:

Iron:
Dismantle weapons.

Titanium:
Dismantle Epic and Legendary armor parts and weapons.

Leather:
Dismantle armor parts.

To dismantle a piece of gear in Outriders click the 'Mark' option by using the right stick on your controller, once marked, an item can be broken down by clicking the 'Dismantle Marked' option at the bottom-right.

Replay Missions for Better Loot

If you complete a mission in Outriders and are not happy with the quality of the loot you picked up you can always revisit the same location or talk to the same person who originally gave you the mission and replay it as many times as you desire until you get the Legendary or Epic gear you want.

Get Decent Gear Early

Outriders has an 'Auto Loot Minimum Rarity' setting which is set to 'Epic' by default. Make sure before you begin your game you go to 'Gameplay Options' in 'Settings' and change it down to 'Unusual', which is basically the equivalent to 'Uncommon' in other games.

It is recommended that you do this because when you begin the game you will not find any 'Epic' gear but having the setting on 'Unusual' will enable you to quickly kit out your character with decent gear in your first few missions by automatically looting it at the end of a mission. You can always up the setting to 'Epic' later in the game.

Change World Tiers

As you progress in Outriders the World Tier will increase. When this happens the enemies that you encounter will be stronger and the loot that they drop will be better. It is important to remember that if you are struggling with a particular enemy or boss you can nearly always manually drop your World Tier to give yourself the edge. You can also increase your World Tier if you want to increase the intensity of the game and chase the best loot. Play around with the World Tiers to get the type of game experience you want. You can manually select your World Tier in the Game Menu. Make sure you claim the one-time rewards you receive for unlocking new tiers.

Explore Everywhere

Exploration in Outriders is rewarded so make sure you search the ruined world of Enoch as you follow the storyline. There are chests filled with decent loot you will find useful stashed all over the place, so it is worthwhile spending some time poking around to see what you can find.

How to Heal in Outriders

There are no healing potions in Outriders that you collect or craft which will replenish your health. In order to regain your health you must kill enemies, when you do so a green animation near your bar will immediately appear to indicate regeneration to your health. The class of character you choose to play will determine your ability to heal during the game.

Technomancer:
Health is replenished every time damage hits.

Tricksters:
Health and shields are replenished by killing enemies in close range.

Devastator:
Health is replenished by killing enemies in close range.

Pyromancer:
Health is replenished every time a marked enemy dies via abilities.

Craft Gear that Supports your Playstyle

The crafting mechanic in Outriders becomes available once you have progressed through the main story and rescued Dr. Zahedi from First City. Once rescued Dr. Zahedi and crafting will become available at every stop along your journey in the campaign.

The ideal time to craft is shortly after a new Outriders World Tier is unlocked as you will have received higher-level items. Crafting can be used to strengthen specific powers if you have a preferred loadout, buff your character to be more effective amid the mob and even add powers that aren't typically available for the class you have chosen. As crafting costs resources you need to make sure that what you craft supports your playstyle.

Keep Moving

In Outriders it is more beneficial to keep moving and finding new angles from which to attack from rather than to stay in one place behind cover. Staying behind cover too long will quickly result in the enemies flanking you which will lead to you being overwhelmed as you will be attacked from all directions. It is also important to remember that while you are cowering in cover you are not taking advantage of your unique heals which requires you to kill enemies. See our How to Heal in Outriders tip for more details.

Try Out Different Character Classes

Once you clear the prologue in Outriders you will have to choose the character class you want to play. There are four different character classes from which to choose from and each comes with their own unique strengths. There is no best character class, so it is recommended that you experiment with them all in order to find the one that best suits your play style.

Technomancer:
This class can savage enemies from long and mid-ranges, and support their teammates with their gadgets and gizmos.

Trickster:
This is 'assassin' class that excels at disrupting enemies with hit-and-run attacks.

Devastator:
This class is basically a tank, great for soaking up hits while taking down enemies at close-range.

Pyromancer:
This class is particularly effective mid-range, enveloping mobs of enemies in blazing fire.

How to Get Legendary Loot Early

The first two opportunities you will have to get Legendary loot in Outriders is from the boss fights against Captain Reiner and Gauss.
