Oninaki is an RPG game where you play the role of a Watcher named Kagachi, a young man who has the ability to peer into the Beyond and is tasked with ensuring that lingering souls of the dead are properly ushered into the underworld for reincarnation. As a Watcher, Kagachi is also a supernatural inquisitor who drops judgement and determines how people die, he does this by going back and forth between the Living World and the Veil, an alternate dimension overlapping with the real world that is essentially a spirit world. Check out our Oninaki cheats and tips to help you explore through and reach objectives and areas where your aid is needed.
Below is a collection of hints and tips that will help you to progress in the game. These include the best ways to farm Feltrite and Project Points. As well as these hints and tips we also have a mini-guide here which goes into more details on some of the tips we have below:
The Daemon you begin with is Aisha, a katana-wielding girl who has an effective dash/dodge and some decent damaging abilities. As you progress through the main story of the game other Daemons will become unlocked, each of which will come with their own unique powers and abilities. Make sure you choose ones for your party that best suit your game style and continually boost their abilities whenever possible so they are powerful enough for the later parts of the game.
You are able to have four Daemons in your party and they can easily be switched with other Daemons in your inventory by finding a save point and changing them from there. As you can only have four Daemons in your party it is advised that the one's you keep are those that you use the most.
Unlike most games Oninaki allows you to change the difficulty setting after you have started the game. If you find yourself unable to get past an area for one reason or another you can always find a save point and change the game to a lower difficulty and then return to tackle the problem. Then after you have cleared the area you can go back to the save point and return the difficulty to its initial setting.
As you progress through the game you will pick up lots of equipment and weapons. Manually check your iventory on a regular basis to esure that there is not a better item there than the one you are currently using. It is essential that you always use the best possible gear at all times.
There are two ways that you can heal in Oninaki, you can use the Healing Incenses that can be found in chests or as loot from killing enemies or by visiting one of the save points that can be found scattered thoughout the world.
Your health will slowly replenish as you progress through the main story of the game defeating monsters. Although the increase you recieve each time you defeat an enemy is marginal it will add up over the long run.
Daemon lore becomes unlocked by unlocking a Daemon Lore node in a Daemon's skill tree. Check out our Daemon Lore Guide to find out everything you need to know about it.
Each of your Daemons comes with active and passive skills slots that enable you to assign them active and passive skills to increase their effectiveness during battle. You can assign three active skills to each Daemon and once you activate them a countdown will appear on that specific active skill and you will be forced to wait until it is ready to use again. Passive skills work differently, when equipped to a Daemon they will grant you bonuses all the time and affect all the Daemons in your party. Make sure you always have passive skills in all your Daemons slots. Check out our Soul Stones Guide to find out how they are used to upgrade Daemons to make them more powerful.
To be able to Fast Travel you need to have access to save points, these are the tall pillars or obelisks scattered thoughout the world. When you approach a save point you will be healed by the healing sphere and if you then press X (PS4) or A (Nintendo Switch) you will be able to move through the 'Options' menu and choose the 'Fast Travel' selection and almost immediately travel to any of the saved points you have visited. Check out our How to Complete the Lost Souls Side Quests guide to find out how you can easily complete these tasks which can be found scattered throughout the world.
We hope these tips help you out in the game, but for further help, try our beginners guide, we also have some FAQs for Oninaki, you can also submit your own questions there for other players to answer.
