I'm going to try to cover all the parts to growing plants, what tools you need, when things become available, etc. Most people don't realize how important plants are in this game until they need them, so I decide to make life a little easier and try to help out the gaming community I love so much by making a guide all about the plant life in the game. _______________________________________________________________________________ Plants [PLAN02] _______________________________________________________________________________ There are meny different types of plants in Viva Pinata, seeds, flowers, weeds, vegetables, bushes, trees and fruits. All the plants except fruit come from seeds, which you can get from the shop or from seedos. As you go up in level more seeds will become available to purchase in the shop. Planting -------- To plant a seed pick it up and drag it to a surface that it can grow on. If a seed can grow somewhere then a trowel icon will appear next to your tool icon, tap the icon to plant the seed. If you can't plant the seed then the trowel icon will be crossed out. If you don't plant your seeds and leave them on ground that they can grow on and don't touch it for a long time then the seed will plant itself. To find out what a seed can grow on select it and look at the top screen, what the seed can grow on will appear like the requirements of a pinata. Watering -------- Once you plant a seed you will need to water it until it's fully grown. Plants that need to be watered will have a raindrop icon in front of them when you select them. The icon will have a arrow on it which tells you if the plant needs more water, there are several parts to this, if the arrow is all the way to the left then it needs water soon or it will die, if it's part way to the left then it would be a good idea to water it, if it's in the middle then it's just right, if it's part way to the right then it's good you don't need to water it for awhile and if it's all the way to the right then you didn't listen to me, I told you not to water it again. If you water it all the way to the right it will die. From time to time it will rain in your garden, when it does your plants will get watered a little. Getting Rid Of -------------- There are many different ways to get rid of plants. You could not water them or water them too much, sell them, let pinatas eat the seeds or buds, or beat them to death with your shovel. If you want to get rid of a tree you will need a special shovel head to chop it down or you can sell it and if you want to get rid of seeds you can hit them with your shovel to destroy them or poke them with it and they will go bad, this can help if you have a lot of weed seeds. Also whenever you leave a seed on the ground it can't grow on for a long time it will go bad and disappear. Fruit & Vegetables ------------------ To get fruit or vegetables you have to fully grow them from seeds. Vegetables grow like flowers exsept when you fully grow it instead of a flower you get a vegetable. Frut on the other hand grows from trees and bushes, in order to get fruit you have to fully grow a tree or bush then either wait for it to fall off or buy it from the shop. Once you grow fruit or vegetables you will be able to buy them from the shop, so if you send fruit or vegetable seeds from one profile to one that doesn't have them yet and grow them then you will be able to buy that fruit or vegetable on that profile. Below is a list of all the plant life in the game, enjoy. +------------------------+===========================+------------------------+ | | SEEDS [SEED03] | | +------------------------+===========================+------------------------+ I've set it up in four parts, name, level, cost and sell. Name is the name of the item, level is what level you get the item at, cost is how much it is to buy the item and sell it how much it sells for. ------------------------------------------------------------------------------- Name: Daisy Seed Level: One Cost: 2 Sell: 1 ------------------------------------------------------------------------------- Name: Buttercup Seed Level: One Cost: 2 Sell: 1 ------------------------------------------------------------------------------- Name: Turnip Seed Level: Two Cost: 2 Sell: 1 ------------------------------------------------------------------------------- Name: Carrot Seed Level: Two Cost: 2 Sell: 1 ------------------------------------------------------------------------------- Name: Bluebell Seed Level: Three Cost: 6 Sell: 3 ------------------------------------------------------------------------------- Name: Poppy Seed Level: Three Cost: 6 Sell: 3 ------------------------------------------------------------------------------- Name: Tulip Seed Level: Three Cost: 30 Sell: 15 ------------------------------------------------------------------------------- Name: Thistle Seed Level: Three Cost: 12 Sell: -7 ------------------------------------------------------------------------------- Name: Chilli Seed Level: Three Cost: 20 Sell: 10 ------------------------------------------------------------------------------- Name: Pumpkin Seed Level: Three Cost: 12 Sell: 6 ------------------------------------------------------------------------------- Name: Apple Seed Level: Three Cost: 50 Sell: 25 ------------------------------------------------------------------------------- Name: Hazelnut Seed Level: Three Cost: 75 Sell: 38 ------------------------------------------------------------------------------- Name: Blackberry Seed Level: Three Cost: 50 Sell: 25 ------------------------------------------------------------------------------- Name: Sunflower Seed Level: Four Cost: 20 Sell: 10 ------------------------------------------------------------------------------- Name: Waterlily Seed Level: Four Cost: 30 Sell: 15 ------------------------------------------------------------------------------- Name: Watercress Seed Level: Four Cost: 12 Sell: 6 ------------------------------------------------------------------------------- Name: Poison Ivy Seed Level: Four Cost: 20 Sell: -12 ------------------------------------------------------------------------------- Name: Corn Seed Level: Four Cost: 6 Sell: 3 ------------------------------------------------------------------------------- Name: Bird Of Paradise Seed Level: Five Cost: 72 Sell: 36 ------------------------------------------------------------------------------- Name: Bullrush Seed Level: Five Cost: 56 Sell: 28 ------------------------------------------------------------------------------- Name: Toadstool Seed Level: Five Cost: 42 Sell: -26 ------------------------------------------------------------------------------- Name: Venus Pinata Trap Seed Level: Five Cost: 72 Sell: -45 ------------------------------------------------------------------------------- Name: Banana Seed Level: Five Cost: 140 Sell: 70 ------------------------------------------------------------------------------- Name: Fir Seed Level: Five Cost: 75 Sell: 38 ------------------------------------------------------------------------------- Name: Gooseberry Seed Level: Five Cost: 75 Sell: 38 ------------------------------------------------------------------------------- Name: Orchid Seed Level: Six Cost: 90 Sell: 45 ------------------------------------------------------------------------------- Name: Snapdragon Seed Level: Six Cost: 42 Sell: 21 ------------------------------------------------------------------------------- Name: Monkeynut Seed Level: Six Cost: 105 Sell: 53 ------------------------------------------------------------------------------- Name: Gem Seed Level: Six Cost: 225 Sell: 113 ------------------------------------------------------------------------------- Name: Nightshade Seed Level: Eight Cost: 140 Sell: 70 ------------------------------------------------------------------------------- Name: Oak Seed Level: Eight Cost: 275 Sell: 138 ------------------------------------------------------------------------------- +------------------------+===========================+------------------------+ | | Flowers [FLOW04] | | +------------------------+===========================+------------------------+ I've broke this list into six parts. Name, sell, F, bud, hour and catalyst. As you might guess name is the name of the flower and sell is how much you can sell it for, "F" is short for fertilizer and tells you how much you can sell the flower for if you use fertilizer on it, bud is how much you can sell the flower bud for, hour is how long it takes for the flower to grow in game time and catalyst is what kind of fertilizer you can use on the flower. All flowers grow on dirt, grass or long grass except three which are, watercress, waterlily and bullrush. These three flowers grow in water and thus don't need to be watered. ------------------------------------------------------------------------------- Name: Daisy Sell: 10 F: 13 Bud: 5 Hour: 6 Catalyst: Yellow ------------------------------------------------------------------------------- Name: Buttercup Sell: 10 F: 13 Bud: 5 Hour: 6 Catalyst: Yellow ------------------------------------------------------------------------------- Name: Bluebell Sell: 30 F: 39 Bud: 15 Hour: 7 Catalyst: Blue ------------------------------------------------------------------------------- Name: Poppy Sell: 30 F: 39 Bud: 15 Hour: 5 Catalyst: Red ------------------------------------------------------------------------------- Name: Tulip Sell: 150 F: 195 Bud: 75 Hour: 5 Catalyst: Blue ------------------------------------------------------------------------------- Name: Sunflower Sell: 100 F: 130 Bud: 50 Hour: 6 Catalyst: Yellow ------------------------------------------------------------------------------- Name: Watercress Sell: 60 F: 78 Bud: 30 Hour: 4 Catalyst: Green ------------------------------------------------------------------------------- Name: Waterlily Sell: 150 F: 195 Bud: 75 Hour: 4 Catalyst: Blue ------------------------------------------------------------------------------- Name: Bird Of Paradise Sell: 360 F: 468 Bud: 180 Hour: 5 Catalyst: Red ------------------------------------------------------------------------------- Name: Bullrush Sell: 280 F: 364 Bud: 140 Hour: 5 Catalyst: Brown ------------------------------------------------------------------------------- Name: Snapdragon Sell: 210 F: 273 Bud: 105 Hour: 6 Catalyst: Blue ------------------------------------------------------------------------------- Name: Orchid Sell: 450 F: 585 Bud: 225 Hour: 7 Catalyst: Green ------------------------------------------------------------------------------- +------------------------+===========================+------------------------+ | | WEEDS [WEED05] | | +------------------------+===========================+------------------------+ There are but four parts to this list. Name, cost, bud and hour. Name is the name of a name got it? good. Cost is how much it is to get rid of the weed, bud is how much the weeds bud sells for and hour is how long it take for the weed to grow. Weeds are bad so what's her face in the shop will not buy them, if you try to sell them to her you will have to pay her instead. And if a full grown weed dies it will leave two to three seeds behind. ------------------------------------------------------------------------------- Name: Thistle Cost: -7 Bud: 30 Hour: 6 ------------------------------------------------------------------------------- Name: Poison Ivy Cost: -12 Bud: 50 Hour: 6 ------------------------------------------------------------------------------- Name: Venus Pinata Trap Cost: -45 Bud: 180 Hour: 7 ------------------------------------------------------------------------------- Name: Toadstool Cost: -26 Bud: --- Hour: 7 ------------------------------------------------------------------------------- +------------------------+===========================+------------------------+ | | Vegetables [VEGE06] | | +------------------------+===========================+------------------------+ We got five parts this time. Name, Sell, F, hour and catalyst. Name is the name of the veggie, sell is how much you can sell it for, "F" is short for fertilizer and tells you how much you can sell the veggie for, hour is how long it takes to grow by game time and catalyst is what fertilizer the veggie will want. Something to note is that vegetables can only grow on dirt. ------------------------------------------------------------------------------- Name: Carrot Sell: 25 F: 50 Hour: 6 Catalyst: Red ------------------------------------------------------------------------------- Name: Turnip Sell: 25 F: 50 Hour: 6 Catalyst: Brown ------------------------------------------------------------------------------- Name: Pumpkin Sell: 150 F: 300 Hour: 7 Catalyst: Red ------------------------------------------------------------------------------- Name: Chilli Sell: 300 F: 600 Hour: 7 Catalyst: Red ------------------------------------------------------------------------------- Name: Corn Sell: 75 F: 150 Hour: 6 Catalyst: Yellow ------------------------------------------------------------------------------- +------------------------+===========================+------------------------+ | | Bushes [BUSH07] | | +------------------------+===========================+------------------------+ It's four parts again, you should know the first three by now but to be thorough I will say it once more. Name is the name of the bush, sell is how much you can sell it for, hour is how long it takes to grow in game itme and grows is what fruit you get from the bush. Bushes are basically short trees, they work the same way. Grow them and you'll be able to buy their fruit in the shop. ------------------------------------------------------------------------------- Name: Blackberry Bush Sell: 100 Hour: 9 Grows: Blackberry ------------------------------------------------------------------------------- Name: Gooseberry Bush Sell: 150 Hour: 9 Grows: Gooseberry ------------------------------------------------------------------------------- Name: Nightshade Bush Sell: 280 Hour: 9 Grows: N.Shade berry ------------------------------------------------------------------------------- +------------------------+===========================+------------------------+ | | Trees [TREE08] | | +------------------------+===========================+------------------------+ This list is broke into four parts. Name, sell, hour and grows. Name is the name of the tree, sell is what you can get if you sold it, hour is the length of time it takes for the tree to grow in game time and grows is what you can get from the tree. Trees take the most time to grow, they can grow on dirt or grass (Short or long) and once they're fully grown can be worth a lot. After you grow a tree it will produce frui on a daily basis and live for a long time. ------------------------------------------------------------------------------- Name: Apple Tree Sell: 280 Hour: 21 Grows: Apple ------------------------------------------------------------------------------- Name: Hazle Tree Sell: 150 Hour: 21 Grows: Hazlenut ------------------------------------------------------------------------------- Name: Banana Tree Sell: 280 Hour: 21 Grows: Banana ------------------------------------------------------------------------------- Name: Fir Tree Sell: 150 Hour: 22 Grows: Fir Cone ------------------------------------------------------------------------------- Name: Monkeynut Tree Sell: 210 Hour: 15 Grows: Monkeynut ------------------------------------------------------------------------------- Name: Gem Tree Sell: 450 Hour: 27 Grows: Gem ------------------------------------------------------------------------------- Name: Oak Tree Sell: 550 Hour: 30 Grows: Acorn ------------------------------------------------------------------------------- _______________________________________________________________________________ Produce [PROD09] _______________________________________________________________________________ This section is devoted to produce, how to get it, what it costs and what it sells for. I know what you're thinking (No I don't mean literally) this is a guide for plants so what's produce doing in here? well most of the produce comes from fruits and vegetables so it's only right to include it. There are two ways to get produce, you can harvest it from pinatas or have Bart transform fruits and vegetables into it. Once you obtain produce you will be able to buy it from the shop just like fruit and veggies, note that you obtain the bone at level five and have to buy it from the shop to begin with. Harvesting ---------- There are three pinatas you can harvest produce from, buzzlegum, moozipan and goobaa. In order to get what you want from them you have to feed them certain flowers then direct them to their harvesting station, to get a harvesting station have Willy build them for you. This is a short list of what you need for each pinata: Buzzlegum > Buttercup > Honey Hive = Honey ----------------------------------------------------------- Moozipan > Sunflower > Milking Shed = Milk ----------------------------------------------------------- Goobaa > Watercress > Shearing Shed = Wool Transforming ------------ In order to transform fruits and vegetables into produce you have to have Bart. Once you unlock him tap on the basket icon then tap the Bart icon, tap on the items you want to transform then tap the check box when you're done, note that it costs 100 coins per item you try to transform so even if you can't transform an item you still have to pay. You can also transform the produce you get from pinatas into new produce, which you will have to do to beat the game. Below is a list of all the items you can transform and what they transform into. Apple > Toffee Apple | Carrot > Carrot Cake ----------------------------------------------------------------- Pumpkin > Jack O Lantern | Blackberry > Jam ----------------------------------------------------------------- Corn > Bread | Bread > Sandwich ----------------------------------------------------------------- Honey > Medicine | Toadstool > Mushroom ----------------------------------------------------------------- Banana > Banana split | Milk > Cheese ----------------------------------------------------------------- Monkeynut > Peanut Butter | Gem > Rainbow Gem ----------------------------------------------------------------- Gooseberry > Gooseberry Fool | _______________________________________________________________________________ Tools [TOOL10] _______________________________________________________________________________ In this section we will talk about tools, when/how you get them and what they do. There are only five tools in the game which are the shovel, watering can, fertilizer, grass seed and paving. There are five fertilizers and two types of grass seed and you start with one of them. There's a lot of watering cans and don't get me started on shovels, shovels are broken into two parts, heads and handles and you get them at separate times. There is also paving but you get only one of those. Shovel ------ The shovel will be your most used tool as it can be used in a lot of ways such as, destroying buildings or pinatas, removing grass and rubble, digging for water and fending off ruffians are a few of the things you can do. As I said up top the shovel is broken into two parts, heads and handles. The handle part of the shovel determines the strength of the shovel when you hit something and the head of the shovel determines what you can do with it. Fertilizer ---------- fertilizer helps bing out the potential in plants, but you can only use it on flowers and vegetables. To get fertilizer you have to direct a taffly to a piece of frut or a vegetable, when he's done doing what he does tap the fertilizer to place it in your tools icon, when you want to fertilize something tap the tool icon then tap the fertilize icon, a list of the fertilizers you have will drop down, then just select the fertilizer you want to use. If you use fertilizer on a flower it will grow two extra buds and if you use it on a vegetable it will grow to twice the size. You can hold up to nine bags of each fertilizer, if you try to take any more it will disappear. Watering Can ------------ The watering can will be your secend most used tool. You start with the worst can that holds only a little water and takes a long time to refill, as you go up in level you will be able to buy different cans from the shop. As the cans get better they will do different things such as holding more water, filling up faster or never running out of water. In order to get a watering can you have to buy it from ether Lotties or Ivors shop. Grass Seed ---------- There are only two different types of grass seed, short and long. You start with the short grass and later you can buy the long grass from the shop. To use the grass seed tap the tools icon then the grass seed icon, then tap on the grass seed you want to use, when it's out drag it over the spot you want the grass at. To remove grass that you don't want anymore just select the shovel and use the dig ground function to remove it, but if you have long grass and you use that function it will leave behind short grass insted of dirt. To save time you can use the function so that you are leaving behind dirt then move the shovel over the long grass, it should go straight to dirt. Paving ------ Pavings a weird one, it's not in the encyclopedia but it's in the tools icon, maybe the games designers just missed it. Anyway, you can get paving at the shop for 200 coins for 100 pieces and you can hold up to 500 pieces. To lay paving down tap the tool icon then tap the paving icon, paving works the same way as grass seed but you can only put it on dirt. To remove paving use the shovel like you would to remove grass. I listed all of the different the tools below except paving because I have said eveything I can about it. +------------------------+===========================+------------------------+ | | Shovels [SHOV11] | | +------------------------+===========================+------------------------+ Becaues the shovel is broken into two parts I made two difforent lists. One for handles and one for heads. H A N D L E S ------------- This list is broken into only two sections, name and level. Name is the name of the handle and level is what you get it at. You are given all of the handles except the Platinum Handle, which you have to buy at Ivors shop for 1125 coins. ------------------------------------------------------------------------------- Name: Freebie Handle Level: One ------------------------------------------------------------------------------- Name: Iron Handle Level: Two ------------------------------------------------------------------------------- Name: Bronze Shovel Handle Level: Four ------------------------------------------------------------------------------- Name: Silver Handle Level: Five ------------------------------------------------------------------------------- Name: Platinum Handle Level: Six ------------------------------------------------------------------------------- Name: Gold Handle Level: Seven ------------------------------------------------------------------------------- H E A D S --------- It's the same deal with this list but three sections this time, name, level and does. Name is the name of the head, level is what level you get it at and does is what the head lets you do. Again you are given all of the heads except the Dastardos Head with you buy at Ivors shop for 2100 coins. ------------------------------------------------------------------------------- Name: Freebie Head Level: One Does: It does nothing special ------------------------------------------------------------------------------- Name: Pond Head Level: Four Does: You can dig ponds ------------------------------------------------------------------------------- Name: Treecutter Head Level: Five Does: You can chop down trees ------------------------------------------------------------------------------- Name: Dastardos Head Level: Seven Does: You can stun dastardos ------------------------------------------------------------------------------- +------------------------+===========================+------------------------+ | | Fertilizers [FERT12] | | +------------------------+===========================+------------------------+ This list is set up into two parts, name and from. Name is the name of the fertilizer, and from is what you can get the fertilizer from. If fruit or veggies go bad then you won't be able to make fertilizer with them. ------------------------------------------------------------------------------- Name: Red Fertilizer From: Apple, Carrot, Chili, Pumpkin ------------------------------------------------------------------------------- Name: Blue Fertilizer From: Turnip, Blackberry, N.Shade Berry ------------------------------------------------------------------------------- Name: Yellow Fertilizer From: Corn, Banana ------------------------------------------------------------------------------- Name: Green Fertilizer From: Acorn, Gooseberry ------------------------------------------------------------------------------- Name: Brown Fertilizer From: Fir Cone, Hazelnut, Monkeynut ------------------------------------------------------------------------------- +------------------------+===========================+------------------------+ | | Watering Cans [WATE13] | | +------------------------+===========================+------------------------+ I've set this list into four parts, name, level, cost and does. Name is the name of the watering can, level is what level you can get it at, cost is what you pay for it and does is what the watering can can do. ------------------------------------------------------------------------------- Name: Rusty Level: One Cost: 0 Does: It does nothing special ------------------------------------------------------------------------------- Name: Tin Level: Two Cost: 225 Does: Holds more water ------------------------------------------------------------------------------- Name: Gold Level: Three Cost: 750 Does: Holds more water ------------------------------------------------------------------------------- Name: Glass Level: Five Cost: 1575 Does: Doesn't run out of water ------------------------------------------------------------------------------- Name: Everpour 5000 Level: Five Cost: 2700 Does: Won't overwater a plant ------------------------------------------------------------------------------- Name: One Pour Wonder Level: Six Cost: 4125 Does: Water once and it's done ------------------------------------------------------------------------------- +------------------------+===========================+------------------------+ | | Grass Seeds [GRAS14] | | +------------------------+===========================+------------------------+ With only two grass seeds this is a sort list. It's set up into four parts, name, level, cost and does. Name is the name of the grass seed, level is what level you get it at, cost is what you pay for it and does is what the grass seed does. ------------------------------------------------------------------------------- Name: Short Grass Level: One Cost: 0 Does: Makes short grass ------------------------------------------------------------------------------- Name: Long Grass Level: Two Cost: 225 Does: Makes long grass ------------------------------------------------------------------------------- _______________________________________________________________________________ Garden Help [GARD15] _______________________________________________________________________________ In this section you will see what decorations and pinatas you should put in your garden to help your plants, how plants affect some pinatas, tips on getting coins and other things. Decorations ----------- There are four decorations that can affect your garden in some way, the most famous of these is the Captain's Cutlass which will keep out all of the ruffians from you garden. The three other decorations are the Dastardos Scarer, Lantern O Loot and the Water Waiver. the Dastardos Scarer will make it take longer for dastardos to get to your garden which will help if you have a sick pinata. If you have a Lantern O Loot in your garden it will increase the value of coins found in the garden and if you have a Water Waiver in your garden it will cut in half the amount of water plants take to grow. Pinatas ------- Besides the three pinatas that you get produce from and the taffly there are two other pinatas that can help in your garden. The first one is the shellybean which will eat any seeds you leave on the ground, that might sound bad but if you have a lot of weed seeds in your garden then it will eat them for you. The second one is the cocoadile which can help with your flowers and vegetables, if you direct it to a growing plant it will cry on it, which works the same way as using fertilizer. Evolving -------- There are nine pinatas that you can evolve into new pinatas by using plants, five of them need to eat flowers, three need to eat fruit and the last one needs to eat a veggie. Once a pinata evolves it can't change back so be careful when you evolve a pinata. The evolved form will be in Gretchens shop so you can buy more of them instead of just evolving. Note that you have to feed the lickatoad an N.Shade Berry then hit it with the shovel to evolve it. Here is a list of the pinatas that evolve and what you need to feed them to make it happen: Sparrowmint > Buttercup > Candary -------------------------------------------------------------- Quackberry > Gooseberry > Juicgoose -------------------------------------------------------------- Newtgat > Chilli > Salamango -------------------------------------------------------------- Horstachio > Blackberry > Zumbug -------------------------------------------------------------- Flutterscotch > Poppy > Red Flutterscotch -------------------------------------------------------------- Flutterscotch > Bluebell > Blue Flutterscotch -------------------------------------------------------------- Flutterscotch > Buttercup > Yellow Flutterscotch -------------------------------------------------------------- Flutterscotch > Watercress > Green Flutterscotch -------------------------------------------------------------- Lickatoad > N.shade Berry > Shovel Hit > Lackatoad Coin Tips --------- There are a few easy ways to make coins with plants, such as growing a lot of trees and bushes then selling the fruit, using fertilizer on flowers or veggies and selling the seeds that seedos gives you are great ways to make some coins. I believe the best way to get coins is to plant a lot of orchids and fertilize them, if you have a gooseberry bush and a taffly or a cocoadile then the fertilizing part will be easy. Sprinkling ---------- When you get to level four you can hire a sprinkling, a sprinkling is someone who will come into your garden and water your plants so you don't have to. It costs 400 coins to hire a sprinkling and if you don't like having to watch your plants then she's the best thing for you. If you want to get rid of your sprinkling just select it then tap on the crossed out icon and pick yes. The sprinkling will start work at 6AM and end work at 6PM. _______________________________________________________________________________ FAQ [FAQX16] _______________________________________________________________________________ In this section I will try to answer all of your questions about the game, the guide, plants and anything eles that might come up.
