To my Summon Night: Twin Age FAQ. Twin Age is the latest installment in the Summon Night series recently released on the DS, it sports a "free- style" battle system whereby you tap an enemy to attack, or touch an empty space to signal your character to move to a certain area on screen. The versatility is vast in this game compared to previous titles. If you like "Ragnarok Online" then I believe you'll love this game! What you'll find in this guide are the usual offerings you'll find in any other profesionally written FAQ you see on GameFAQs.com. There's the main walkthrough, the extras section (skills, side quests, etc) and a couple more stuff to help you waltz through this game without much trouble. I hope you enjoy whatever I've compiled. Take the time to look through, who knows, there may be something that you do not know? For further clarification just refer to the game's instruction booklet everyone have one, right? ################# NEW CHANGES [NC!] ################# As of 19th June 2008, this guide will reflect Aldo's scenario instead of Reiha's. Since I already played as Reiha in my other save file, I told myself: "why the freakin' hell did I play as Reiha again? I might as well replay as Aldo and re-do the whole guide!" So, that's how all these changes came to be. I've also reformatted the walkthrough section it looks slightly better and less wordy now. The changes below has already been implemented: o Better text/walkthrough. o Improved grammar, less typos (I try my best). o Less talking, more to the point. o A better, small and compact FAQ. o FAQ now reflects Aldo's scenario. o 76 characters MAX. --------------------------------------------------------------------------- ############################# CHARACTERS DESCRIPTIONS [CH!] ############################# Summon Night allows you to switch between two characters. Aldo and Reiha, and you're also allowed to bring in a third party member, though, you won't be able to control them directly, they will act on their own. Aldo is more to physical while Reiha is proficient in magic. PLAYABLE CHRACTERS ------------------ 8 playable characters including both main heroes: Aldo and Reiha. The rest are additional members to bring along, so in a given battle you're allowed up to 3 characters + 2 types of Summon Beasts. o ALDO (PHYSICAL) Aldo is a Summon Beast, summoned by Reiha 7 years ago during an accident Reiha lost her father and has since been living with Aldo, she treats him just like her younger brother; the only family she ever have. Aldo is more to physical delivering damage upfront via various equipped weapons. He has many skills at his disposal, depending on the weapon you equip, (Sword, Axe or Lance) you can use different skills. If you like your battles swift and quick then playing as Aldo is recommended. He adores Reiha very much. o REIHA (MAGICAL) Aldo's older sister. If you read the booklet prologue then you will know that Reiha is the very girl whose powers got out of control and caused the accident to happen 7 years ago. In the midst of the disaster she summoned a Summon Beast. Reiha is magically inclined meaning she's very apt at casting spells and causing hurt from afar, if you love your magic then you will definitely enjoy using Reiha. She loves Banna Berry. o NASSAU (PHYSICAL) The leader of the Garbah tribe of Kascuza. Nassau is the childhood friend of both Aldo and Reiha, he's open-minded and straightforward speaking whatever is on his mind, he also has issues trusting humans. His manners towards his grandfather is not something you should follow in real life. Nassau will join your party shortly soon after you have reached Marbado. He has high HP and average SP but his skill with the axe is second to none, basically another helpful powerhouse to have around in your party. He got some attitude problems when it comes to trusting humans. o AYN (MAGICAL) Another childhood friend of the above three characters, being both a Priestess and a Princess have its ups and downs, but with friends like Aldo, Reiha and Nassau, Ayn is never alone. Ayn is able to sense Spirits much stronger than anyone else thus allowing her to "harness" extremely powerful healing magic, Ayn is only useful in normal melee battles during boss fights 1/3 times she'll struggle and die leaving only you and your partner behind. Always fear of being left all alone. o TICA (PHYSICAL) Tica is an apprentice Summoner, she joined your party under the order of Sir Zarham. She has a lot to hide from the crew but she's not exactly a vile person, there are times when the group is in trouble she lend a helping hand whether out of goodwill or not is another story. If her portrait was any indication at all Tica is an Archer, so that classify her as a physical class. Lapdog of Sir Zarham. o LILA (MAGICAL) An arrogant Summoner who pay no heeds to the words she chooses to converse with others, she has offended Nassau a couple of times. But truth is she is the one that cares most about the Kascusza (according to Ticah anyway). Lila is another magical character much like Reiha, the only problem is, she has low Support Rank you gotta work on that if you want Lila to be more co-operative. Adores Mardin very much. o MARDIN (PHYSICAL) He joins your party pretty late in the game, Uncle Mardin here is an Ex- Summoner, exiled due to a certain reason. He's more to physical and pro- tecting the party from harm. Out of all the characters I enjoy having him as my third party member the most, next to Millisar. I mean Nassau isn't too bad but Mardin's better. He's a cool and composed kind of person always analyzing and insist on seeing two sides of a story. You youngsters should learn from him. Don't be a Nassau ok. o MILLISAR (PHYSICAL) After he was betrayed by Ghardib, Millisar decided to join your party after Reiha and everyone convinced him that we have to work together. Millsar like Mardin is another physical-type character. Another party member I like to have around they're able to defeat most enemies in no time making level-grinding more bearable, Nassau isn't too bad but Madin + Millisar kicks so much more ass than anyone else in the game. NON-PLAYABLE CHARACTER ---------------------- Characters that made the game slightly more bearable... o CARAWAY & SAFFRON Two idiots that are on a mission to perfect their magical skills, Reiha think they're apprentice Summoners. Well, I think otherwise. They do provide your party with side quests every now and then. o NEMO The owner of The Dolphin Song he provides Reiha and Aldo with various equipments and other various goodies. At times you'll run errands for the guys in the form of side quests. o STORE CLERKS They're triplets you see them often at The Dolphin Song, one of them is a Summon Night know-it-all. o INGIELL A wise old man, foster parent to Aldo and Reiha and grandfather to Nassau. Ingiell was approached by Mardin to care for the two heroes a long time ago. He has fulfilled his promise and both kids are now traveling with Mardin. o ARLUS "Golden Arlus," a funny man and Lila's partner. At times he may seem weird but he's a good man with an amazing heart that say ridiculous things. Enjoys eating Lila's lunch leaving behind only the box. o PHICRA & GHARDIB Two Summon Beasts who are on a mission to return to their own World, they try to convince Aldo to join their side, but with Reiha around that's not gonna happen. Their action to return home created a "hole" in the world. --------------------------------------------------------------------------- ########################### CHARACTERS STATISTICS [CS!] ########################### Characters overall performance in battle are determined by the various stats found in the Status screen. By equipping weapons, armors and accessories you are able to increase or decrease both Aldo & Reiha's stats. I'll explain what does each attribute means. ATTACK (ATK) <-- CHARACTER'S ATTACK POWER ----------------------------------------- Determines one strength, you can increase or decrease this stat by equipping weapons, skills such as "RAGE" or "ATTACK UP" will temporarily increase your attack power for a short period of time. The higher the value, the more damage your character will inflict upon the enemy. Certain accessories do affect this stat as well (POWER BAND). --------------------------------------------------------------------------- MAGIC (MAG) <-- CHARACTER'S MAGICAL POWER ----------------------------------------- Determines one magical prowess, you can increase or decrease this stat by equipping armor and accessories. The higher the value, the more potent your magic attack will be. Certain accessories do affect this stat as well. --------------------------------------------------------------------------- DEFENSE (DEF) <-- CHARACTER'S PHYSICAL DEFENSE ---------------------------------------------- Determines one character's defense against normal physical attack, you can increase or decrease this stat by equipping armors. Skills such as "GUARD UP" will temporarily increase your defense for a short period of time. The higher the value, the less damage you will receive from enemy physical attack. Certain accessories do affect this stat as well. --------------------------------------------------------------------------- AVOID (AVO) <-- CHARACTER'S ABILITY TO AVOID ENEMY ATTACK --------------------------------------------------------- Determines one's ability to dodge against enemy attack. Skill like DODGE MASTER for Aldo will permanently increase your evasion, it is a PASSIVE skill so no activation or whatsoever required, just purchasing it will do. The higher the value, the better the chances of success to avoid enemy attack. --------------------------------------------------------------------------- ACCURACY (HIT) <-- CHARACTER'S ACCURACY --------------------------------------- Determins one's accuracy, in other words the higher the value, the lesser the chance for you to miss. The passive skill "HIT MASTER" for Aldo will permanently increase his accuracy. --------------------------------------------------------------------------- WAIT (WAI) <-- THE TIME CHARACTER MUST WAIT BETWEEN ATTACKS ----------------------------------------------------------- The lesser the value, the faster your character will attack. You can increase or decrease this stat by equipping weapon and armor. --------------------------------------------------------------------------- SPEED (SPD) <-- CHARACTER'S MOVING SPEED ---------------------------------------- The higher the value, the faster your character will run on screen. --------------------------------------------------------------------------- RESISTANCE (RES) <-- CHARACTER'S RESISTANCE AGAINST DIFFERENT ELEMENTS ---------------------------------------------------------------------- Displayed in %. Anything with a negative (-) means that one particular character is weak against an element. So, if Aldo has a -50% to his Water stat, he will receive 50% more damage when is hit by Water magic. Certain accessories do affect this stat as well. --------------------------------------------------------------------------- ############################ CONTROLS & NAVIGATIONS [CN!] ############################ Most of the action requires you to use the Touch Screen. The controls are not complex or hard to understand. I'll briefly explain some of the controls in the game below. NINTENDO DS LITE _______________________________________________________ | | | _________________________________ | | | | | | | O O | | | . . . | | . . . | | . . . | 1 | . . . | | | | | | | _________________ | | | | | | | |_________________________________| | | | |_______________________________________________________| (___________________________|________________________||_) | | | 3 _________________________________ 4 | | _ | | | | _| |_ | _________________ | X | | |_ o _| | | Y A | | |_| | 2 | B | | | | | | | O O | 5 | | | | o START | | |_________________________________| o SELECT | | | |_______________________________________________________| ASCII Art by defunct32 1. TOP SCREEN: Display the party's stats and other useful information. Refer to this to check your party's health and the command to perform certain skills will also be displayed here during battle. 2. TOUCH SCREEN: For more information just scroll down a bit to the "Tips & Hints" section. 3. D-PAD (Directional-Pad): Use this as opposed to the Stylus to navigate the Overworld Map. Can also be pressed to advance conversation. 4. A, B, X, Y, L + R: From what I remember (I'm so lazy to refer to the booklet) A, B, X, Y will advance a conversation, to speed through lengthy talk sessions hold down B + R. 5. START & SELECT: Press START to pause the game during battle or when in dungeon, pressing SELECT while the game is being paused will switch the top screen from "bar view" to "numerical view." Pressing START during conversations will allow you to backtrack past dialogue up to a certain point. This is useful if you're going to make a "Dialogue/Conversation FAQ" or something like that. --------------------------------------------------------------------------- ################## TIPS & HINTS [TH!] ################## Summon Night: Twin Age utilizes a "Real-Time" battle system whereby every- thing happen all at the same time, it's not that hard to follow but it can be intimidating when you're in a boss battle and everything is all over the place etc, etc. What I've compiled here are battle tips and some pointers which I've discovered during my gameplay (some are of course taken from the in-game tutorials or the instruction booklet), they may or may not be useful, you be the judge of it. I'm only sharing what I think is best! If you've a better suggestions or tips to share, then send me an e-mail. Full credits will be given, so please leave behind your name or internet alias. ------------------- E Q P / S K I L L S B A S I C S -------------------- 01. EQUIPMENTS -------------- Upgrade your equipments whenever possible. In this guide I'll inform you if I do purchase/create anything at the shop. It's important that you keep up with your equipments, as enemies grow stronger you'll need stronger equipments to fight. 02. OBTAIN SKILL POINTS ----------------------- There are 3 ways to earn skill points: o Leveling Up. o Defeating Bosses. o Clearing Events. Skill points can be used to purchase and upgrade your skills. 03. PURCHASE SKILLS ------------------- In order to use skills or magics you'll need to purchase them first, access the Main Menu and tap the "Learn and Confirm Skills" button. The skills are divided by Ranks, higher ranks does not mean powerful or great. What matters in this game is how you level up and use your skills. When it comes to Aldo purchase only skills that you know you'll use, there's no point in investing points into Axe and Spear when you're only going to use Sword skills. BUT! If you wish to get Aldo's Rank 11 skill you gotta unlock every other attack skills for each respective weapons. (Thanks to Jason Keller for this information!) When it comes to Reiha please make sure to maximize her healing spells, such as HEAL and SUPREME HEAL, RESTORE is handy but it is not needed in the long run of the game. Don't overspend. Purchase only WHAT YOU NEED and not what you want. This also can be apply in real life. ------------- S E T T I N G U P Y O U R P A R T Y ------------------ 01. SETTING UP YOUR PALETTE --------------------------- Palette can be set at any time during the game, whether in the Overworld Map or during melee/boss battles. There are two sets of palette one on the left the other on the right, each housing 6 slots so you've 12 slots to fill up. How you choose to arrange them is up to you, but I suggest having only 10 important skills and 2 restorative items (1 HP type, 1 SP type). o Access the Main Menu. o Choose "EDIT COMMAND PALETTE." o Only 3 options matter: SKILL LIST, INVENTORY and HERO'S COMMAND PALETTE. o Tap your desired skill from the list. o Tap one of the empty slots on the right. o Arrange and organize however you want. o Save your game. 02. CHOOSING YOUR PARTY MEMBERS ------------------------------- You can't directly control your 3rd party member in battle, but, it's advisable that you bring along the right member during certain chapter. In this guide I'll state who to bring. Still, ultimately it's your choice whoever you've chosen to bring. 03. CONJURING BEASTS -------------------- You can conjure beast to help aid you in battle, there are requirements to be met before you can conjure and summon the beast(s) into battle: o Defeat the enemy you wish to conjure o Make doubly sure it's available in the Bestiary* o Have at least one FLASK available o Must have the monster dropped item in possession, check Bestiary. o You must be higher level than the beast you're going to conjure. Go to the Overworld Map open up the Game Menu and choose to "Conjure Beast." Pick your choice of monster and then pick your partner, the higher the rank the better the chances of success, also different ally will result in different conjuration. So far, I'm not able to get anything out of the box. But I do get multiple conjured beasts in one single session with high ranking ally. Now to summon beast in a battle, you must set the monster in the Command Palette just like how you would set magic and items, summoning them works the same way just tap the desired monster and then tap an empty space. There you have it! *Monster(s) not in the Bestiary are not available for conjuration. ----------------------- B A T T L E B A S I C S ------------------------ 01. MOVIING ----------- Tap an empty space in an area to move your character, sliding against the edge of the screen will activate Auto-run. Which is useless. 02. ATTACKING ------------- Tap an enemy to attack, your character will attack it until the enemy is no more, unless you direct him or her to do something else. 03. PERFORMING SKILL/MAGIC OR USING ITEM ---------------------------------------- Bring up the Command Palette by tapping the brown arrow on the lower left and right of the screen, and tap your desired skill, refer to the top screen to view on how to successfully perform the skill. Different skill have different way of doing it. Using item works the same way, tap the item and then tap an ally. 04. SAVING ---------- Saving is important the moment you get a chance to save, do it. In the Overworld Map tap the compass logo on the lower right to bring up the Main Menu, tap the "Red Book" to save your progress. In dungeons if you wish to suspend your game just tap the "opened book" on the upper left and choose the "Blue Book." Suspend and Cold Hard Save work differently. Suspending your game means you're saving it temporarily, at the Title Screen choose CONTINUE instead of LOAD if you choose to load then your temporary save will be gone. Saving your game means your data is forever there... Unless you deleted it or progress and overwrite it with a much recent data. Save Point in this game took the form of an erected (hmm?) blue crystal, when you see one, tap it to save your game. 05. REIHA --------- When using Reiha remember to apply the "Hit N Run" tactic, meaning tap an enemy, scored a hit, RUN! If you stick around and wait for Reiha to recharge to perform her next attack the enemy will have already land a nice hit on Reiha. 06. "THE HEALING STRATEGY" -------------------------- The AI in this game are decent but they're also determined by Ranking, the higher the rank the more support your ally(ies) will provide. What I like to do in boss battle(s) is to play as Reiha and make her cast Heal on the others. This is a sure-fire way of making everyone's healthy and get their doses of healing spell. If you ran out of SP, quickly run to a corner and use SP CHARGE or TASTY TEA. 07. REGAIN SP FOR FREE! ----------------------- Yes you can regain/restore your SP for free! How? By just standing around, even if you walk around your SP will regain ever so little. Or you can use SP CHARGE both Aldo and Reiha have it in their skill tree, purchase and upgrade it to the max level whenever you can. ----------------------- M I S C E L L A N E O U S ------------------------ 01. LEVEL UP ------------ The higher your level the better your party overall battle performance will be. It's recommended to at least level up 2 to 3 levels after every Chapter, you'll also earn skill points to be used later for obtaining or upgrading skills. That's killing two birds with one stone. 02. HIDDEN TREASURES -------------------- Hit every pots, crates and vases you see, they may hold valuable healing items or materials for forging your equipments. 03. DELETING SAVED GAME DATA ---------------------------- Hold down your stylus anywhere on an empty space in the save screen for 10 seconds to delete your saved game data. Be warned that once deleted, there's no freakin' way to get it back. 04. "STANDING STILL" -------------------- Holding down any direction on the D-Pad, and tapping anywhere on the screen will allow your character to attack on the spot without ever moving around. 05. "LOCKED SKILL" ------------------ Holding down any direction on the D-Pad then tapping an icon skill/item in the Command Palette will cause the cursor to be locked on that particular skill/item, so you can continue to use that skill or item over and over without having to retap the icon again. This is useful against crazy-ass boss battle. Especially with Reiha, abusing her healing spell without ever having to retap is always good. Here's a step-by-step version: o Set up your Command Palette first o Then open up your Command Palette o Hold down any direction on the D-Pad o Tap a skill of your choice o The skill/icon and cursor will turn blue; it is now locked o Let go of the D-Pad You can walk around, hit vase, pots, etc. If you wish to select another skill just tap that locked skill and you're free to choose again IF you do hold down the D-Pad or either one of the A, X, Y and B buttons your character'll stand on the spot and peform the skill. Play around! 06. SELL STUFF FOR "CASH" ------------------------- Short of gold? Then just sell off old equipments and/or materials, you almost always have abundance of materials in your possession. I sold some of mine and got like 10,000+ worth of Gold. --------------------------------------------------------------------------- W A L K T H R O U G H [01^] As of 19th June 2008, I've reformatted this guide to reflect Aldo's scenario instead of Reiha's. Since I find this FAQ rather "talkative" for my own taste bud. The fact still remains that whoever you've chosen to play as doesn't really affects anything in the long run, same plot, just different dialogues, and perhaps different treasures too? -----------------W A L K T H R O U G H B E G I N S----------------------- ################################### CHAPTER 00: THE CHANGING WIND [CW#] ################################### You'll start the day with Aldo being all full and then you'll get a full portrait of your hero. Reiha will step out and make a small scene, Aldo had forgotten to wash the dishes, you'll read Aldo's thought about Reiha yeah... She is not your sister by blood but you're still close as family. After some talking Reiha will ask you to grab some Banna Berries along the way: o Of course o What a pain Pick the first and you'll learn Reiha has a weird obsession with Banna Berry. A Wind Spirit will gather around the young heroes, you'll also learn of another vital character: INGIELL. He's the leader of the Garbah Tribe. The screen will then switch to the OVERWORLD MAP. -NOTE--------------------------------------------------------------------- Most of the time it doesn't matter which option you choose. Often times they will net you the same end result. But during certain chapters, the choices you make will have a different outcome. In those situation I'll warn you in this kind of "note box." -----------------------------------------------------------------END NOTE- ------------------------------------------------------------------------ / S U M M O N N I G H T: T W I N A G E -- O V E R W O R L D M A P / ------------------------------------------------------------------------ o----------INFORMATION WINDOW----------o | | | NEW AREA: SPIRIT HILL | | LEVEL UP: NONE | o--------------------------------------o Anything marked NEW is where you should be headed to advance the story, the game will also tell you how to navigate the Overworld Map with the Stylus personally I think using the D-Pad is way better. Double tap the NEW area to advance the story. ------------------------------------------------------------------------ / S U M M O N N I G H T: T W I N A G E -- S P I R I T H I L L / ------------------------------------------------------------------------ Aldo seems to be enjoying the breeze when he spotted a couple of Spirits gathering nearby. He will attempt to listen, well, it's Ingiell. You'll learn a couple of things: Princess Ayn's Celebration & The Coming of Age for both heroes... An event will happen whereby the Spirits got out of control and the message was cut short. An enemy approaches... -NOTE--------------------------------------------------------------------- Chapter 00 + 01 are both tutorial chapters take this opportunity to understand/absorb whatever the game will tell you, the tutorials are well implemented if you ask me. I won't explain anything unless there's a better way of doing things. -----------------------------------------------------------------END NOTE- You'll be drawn into a battle. Look at the top screen do you see Aldo's stats? It's displayed as bars if you want it to be displayed as number value then press START and then SELECT then press START again to unpause. There you go! After you've defeated the enemy Aldo will feel all sluggish and out of breath (since he's a Summon Beast, it wouldn't be surprising if he is greatly affected). Just when you thought it couldn't get any worse, three more appear before you! Thinking you're done for Reiha, your sister came to your rescue. You're now able to switch between the two characters. -NOTE--------------------------------------------------------------------- To switch characters just tap the icon in the upper right to start controlling the other character. You're not able to swap under these circumstances: o Your character is off the screen (running away somewhere) o Your character has 0 HP (will return after a long time) -----------------------------------------------------------------END NOTE- After the fight Reiha will explain that she felt something was amiss when the birds flew away from the hills... Something bad is happening "like what?" Like this... ------------------------------------------------------------------------ / S U M M O N N I G H T: T W I N A G E -- W I N D S P I R I T / ------------------------------------------------------------------------ o---------INFORMATION WINDOW-----------o | | | BOSS: WIND SPIRIT | | RECOMMENDED CHARACTER: REIHA | | REWARD: 1x CLOTH VEST OR CLOTH ROBE* | o--------------------------------------o The Spirits will gather together with the Darkness to form a pudgy sprite, this is a Wind Spirit corrupted by evil. Aldo will urge Reiha to run away but Reiha refuses: o Let's fight together! o Don't strain yourself! Pick the first choice! Use Reiha in this fight I find it easier to fight from afar than head on. The game will also introduce you to the COMMAND PALETTE what you need to know about this function is that if you want to use items or skills you'll need to set this up first in the Main Menu. For now put aside all these worries and concentrate on removing the enemy boss! Don't forget to use Banna Berries on yourself (or rather Aldo) when you're low on health! This is another easy fight though I know it gets intimidating when you see the green bar depleting really fast, but don't fret keep those bearries coming and you'll overcome this joke of a battle. -NOTE--------------------------------------------------------------------- *I don't know whether this is a glitch or not, but apparently when I play as Reiha I get different results with the reward. I restarted 3 times and this is what I get: REIHA: 1ST TIME: PURPLE ROBE ICON / CLOTH VEST 2ND TIME: PURPLE ROBE ICON / CLOTH ROBE 3RD TIME: BROWN VEST ICON / CLOTH ROBE The CLOTH VEST from my 1st try changed to CLOTH ROBE, while the 2nd try remain unchanged, the third time it changes to CLOTH ROBE again, is anyone crazy enough to further verify whether this is a glitch or simply just an issue the developers overlooked? My guess is that who you choose to finish the boss will determine the outcome of the reward. If you picked Reiha then no matter what you'll always end up with a CLOTH ROBE, if you picked Aldo you'll get the CLOTH VEST. My guess anyway, otherwise, no biggie! :) -----------------------------------------------------------------END NOTE- ------------------------------------------------------------------------ / S U M M O N N I G H T: T W I N A G E -- E N D B A T T L E / ------------------------------------------------------------------------ After the battle the heroes will attempt to calm the spirits down they succeeded in doing so (pretty good huh?) The chapter will end with the two of them going to meet Ingiell the next day! -NOTE--------------------------------------------------------------------- At the end of every chapter (excluding some) you'll get a "Talk To" screen, this is just one of those interactive extras the developers shoved in for you I think it affects your ally's SUPPORT RANK. The higher the rank the more supportive they are in battles. -----------------------------------------------------------------END NOTE- For now you only get to talk to Reiha... ------------------------------------------------------------------------ / S U M M O N N I G H T: T W I N A G E -- C H A P T E R E N D / ------------------------------------------------------------------------ --------------------------------------------------------------------------- ############################ CHAPTER 01: TORN APART [TA#] ############################ Event Areas are marked as a "red box/rectangle" if you want to advance the story then just proceed to the specially marked areas. Simpler version: o RED AREAS: AN EVENT WILL OCCUR o BLUE AREAS: PROCEED TO THE NEXT AREA IN A DUNGEON o GREEN AREAS: PROCEED TO EXIT OUT OF A DUNGEON OR SHOP After the short conversation make track to your south and enter the Red Area. Both Reiha and Aldo agree that the ocean is safe to travel, just when you're about to head out Aldo will notice a crate lying around. He'll immediately recognize the mark, it belonged to the Bahal Tribe's, a family of Kascuzsa merchant. You're about to return the crate when the "Owner" appears he'll tell you his sad story, and mention something about "wave of bargains." ALDO: REIHA: BANNA BERRY HEAL DASH THRUST SPARK SHOT BANNA YOGURT FLAME BURST That's how I set up my palette, however you choose to arrange your palette or whatever skill(s) you wanna use is entirely your choice. Your next course of action would be "The Dolphin Song" A.K.A. shop. Once you are inside you'll be greeted by a cherry voice! Talk to the Merchant (the guy just now) and he'll tell you another sad story of his, lend a listening ear and you'll have to make a choice: o I'll go. o There's no time. Ok, that was me being stupid. Anyway... A huge wave will hit both of the heroes, the party of two will split. Aldo awakens alone along the shore only to find Reiha missing, not good... when Aldo walks over to the right a couple of spirits will gather. Aldo attempts to send a message to Reiha saying he's headed for Marbado. You'll get two choices here: o About the creatures o About the filth I picked "About the filth" if you chose the other one, let me know how the conversation turned out, or if there are any funky new events. A new tutorial will pop up telling you about the Main Menu. Absorb whatever you can. Head right if you wish to go to the Overworld Map otherwise just head north for an event. Some purple spirits will gather and swirl around Aldo, the Janar Stone is glowing so that means your sister shouldn't be too far off. -NOTE--------------------------------------------------------------------- You should explore every nook and corner of a dungeon, break every crates, pots and vases you see, most, if not all contain something valuable from berries to gold ($). -----------------------------------------------------------------END NOTE- - ABADA CANYON: AREA 1 - There's nothing here. You should just go all the way left and up to the next area. - ABADA CANYON: AREA 2 - You'll encounter FATOAD and GRASSRAPTOR here. There are 2 treasure chests in this area: "100 G" and "BANNA COOKIE." - ABADA CANYON: AREA 3 - An event will occur where Aldo's Janar Stone glows really brightly. Upon hearing something Aldo straightaway assumed it is Reiha. But is it really your sister? There's a Save Point here, so go ahead and save your game! And if luck would have it your sister magically walks up to you. You ran up to her and gives her a hug. After a small talk a group of "Yodomies" will crawl up to you. -NOTE--------------------------------------------------------------------- Area 6 has another path that you can take once you've defeated the boss here, revisit this area and go all the way to the left. -----------------------------------------------------------------END NOTE- ------------------------------------------------------------------------ / S U M M O N N I G H T: T W I N A G E -- " Y O D O M I E S " / ------------------------------------------------------------------------ o---------INFORMATION WINDOW-----------o | | | BOSS: "YODOMIES" | | RECOMMENDED CHARACTER: ALDO | | REWARD: NONE | o--------------------------------------o You may use SPARK SHOT if you want, but if you equip Aldo with "DASH THRUST" that skill can really bring down a Yodomi or two. He will reward you with a BANNA YOGURT. Anyway what's with the "youse?" Another kickass typo? Or is that just how he speaks? Either way there's nothing to buy in store so, don't bother checking. Head out. Before entering MARBADO FOREST, let's take some time to upgrade our skills access the MAIN MENU and etc... Here's what I've purchased or upgraded: ALDO: ----- UPGRADED DASH THRUST PURCHASED SWORD DANCE PURCHASED SWORD MASTER REIHA: ----- UPGRADED BOTH SPARK SHOT AND HEAL PURCHASED BOTH AQUA AND FIRE SHOT* It seems to me that in order for you to proceed to the next rank, you have to purchase every skills that's available in the previous rank. So, for example: If I want to advance to RANK 2, I have to purchase every skills available on RANK 1, likewise if I desire to purchase anything on RANK 3, I've to purchase everything in RANK 2 before any skills are available on RANK 3. The "white line" that connect the skills together also matters as you purchase a new skill the gray line will turn to white to signify that "you're almost there." I can't say I am 100% sure about this, but that's how it looks to me. If you've got other confirmed theory(ies) regarding Skills, then e-mail me. Where there is an * it means I've ADDED IT TO MY COMMAND PALETTE. You don't have to follow me but if I believe a certain skill is needed in the next map then I'll inform you. ------------------------------------------------------------------------ / S U M M O N N I G H T: T W I N A G E -- M A R B A D O F R S T. / ------------------------------------------------------------------------ o----------INFORMATION WINDOW----------o | | | ENEMY(IES): GRASSPIDER | | BIRGUS | | FLOWERSPIDER | | | | BOSS: YODOMIES + OVERSIZED YODOMI | | | | TREASURE(S): FRESH JUICE x2 | | IRON ORE | | WARP WING | | BANNA COOKIE | | 150 G | | 350 G | | BANNA YOGURT | | | | NEW CHARACTER ALERT: NASSAU | o--------------------------------------o - MARBADO FOREST: AREA 1 - GRASSPIDER and BIRGUS roam this area, two treasure chests: one containing "FRESH JUICE" the other "IRON ORE." The exit to Area 2 can be found directly north from where you found the IRON ORE. - MARBADO FOREST: AREA 2 - Aldo will spot something, you're near Marbado. Reiha is confused and Aldo will explain, if you're playing as Reiha you'll get a cat with a fish in its mouth instead. Two options are available: o Reiha o The past I picked "The past." I've never tried the first but the second one will give you a nice little conversation. A treasure awaits you in the form of "WARP WING." And another one as "BANNA COOKIE." Treasure don't seem kind of appealing, no? Later in the game you'll get better treasures to fuse with your weapons. Atfer you're done looting find the next area. -NOTE--------------------------------------------------------------------- You can use WARP WING to get yourself out of dungeon in an instant, access the MAIN MENU and look in the upper right corner of the screen. There's a logo: a "runnin man," tap on it to use a single WARP WING. -----------------------------------------------------------------END NOTE- - MARBADO FOREST: AREA 3 - Save Point. Take this opportunity to save! - MARBADO FOREST: AREA 4 - "350 G" and "150 G" can be found in this area (treasures). Otherwise there is absolutely nothing to do here besides killing all the monsters for EXP points. - MARBADO FOREST: AREA 5 - A lot of changes since the last time the heroes visited Marbado, worried for everyone you decided to make haste to the village itself. "FRESH JUICE" is obtainable from a blue box known as treasure chest as well as "BANNA YOGURT." Why are food kept in a box? - MARBADO FOREST: AREA 6 - Save Point. Like always whenever you see one, tap on it to save. - MARBADO FOREST: AREA 7 - An event will occur. Roads are changing this is how bizarre things are getting, Aldo will notice Nassau's secret hideout. After a little bit of talking a group of "Yodomies" + a huge one will crawl out of the hideout. Feeling overwhelmed you thought of running, when... "Woah, woah, woah. Aren't you forgetting someone?" "NASSAU!" Yep! A new character, only thing is you will not be able to control Nassau directly, the only way to really affect his action is to raise his SUPPORT RANK. Aldo will tell a little bit of a backstory JUST A BIT about Ingiell. Soon after you'll get two choices: o A disaster? How? o Why didn't you go? Both options will lead you to the same kind of conversation albeit just A LITTLE BIT different, if you asked about the disaster Nassau will explain if you pick the other one, Nassau will explain too. Pick either one it doesn't really matter. I choose to talk to Nassau. ------------------------------------------------------------------------ / S U M M O N N I G H T: T W I N A G E -- C H A P T E R E N D / ------------------------------------------------------------------------ --------------------------------------------------------------------------- ########################### CHAPTER 03: GUARDIANS [GD#] ########################### The three adventurers will have a small talk about Princess Ayn and Ingiell, supposedly where there is Spirits, there's bound to be trouble, usually the place with the most Spirits is the safest place to be, but not now. Worried about Ingiell, Nassau decided to head for the shrine, but not without our two kickass heroes of course! The scene will then switch to an old Kascusza. This is Ingiell, he will immediately sense danger as the Spirits are out of control. Alas being old has its disadvantages, the old guy gasped for a bit. Asthma perhaps? Nassau joined you! Awesome! Back on the Overworld Map. ------------------------------------------------------------------------ / S U M M O N N I G H T: T W I N A G E -- O V E R W O R L D M A P / ------------------------------------------------------------------------ o---------INFORMATION WINDOW-----------o | | | NEW AREA: SHRINE | | LEVEL UP: MARBADO FOREST | o--------------------------------------o As of right now my current level for both heroes is 7, I went to the MARBADO FOREST to level up to at least level 8 (I hate odd numbers), but uh... this is not an issue with odd numbers but I recommend for you to train a bit. How far you want to push the envelope is up to you. Now head on over to The Dolphin Song to do a side quest for our dear Nemo. Talk to him and you'll get the usual two options: o Sure. o We're kind of busy... Pick the first, leave the shop, and Marbado Forest will have a new marking called "EVENT." Head on over. ------------------------------------------------------------------------ / S U M M O N N I G H T: T W I N A G E -- S I D E Q U E S T 0 2 / ------------------------------------------------------------------------ o---------INFORMATION WINDOW-----------o | | | NAME: RESCUE THE STORE CLERK | | REWARD: CLUELESS 2 | | LOCATION: MARBADO FOREST | o--------------------------------------o Basically what you need to do here is to escort the Store Clerk out of the forest, it's an easy task. The only tip I can provide you with, is, don't bother killing all the enemies (unless you want the EXP points). Just hack away any of those who gets in your way, make haste for the exit and you should be ok. Heal the clerk whenever necessary. Don't die ok?! Once you're done with the side quest, go back to The Dolphin Song to purchase new armors for your heroes. WOODEN PLATE for Aldo and TOUGH TUNIC for Reiha, no weapons to purchase... as you can see I don't really bother buying any healing items as they're quite expensive and, besides, you'll get a bucketload of them when you "crack" open vases/pots/crates in dungeons, also not forgetting Reiha's healing magics. My advice is for you to save your Gold for equipments instead! I did purchase some Banna Berries during my early gameplay but not anymore. -NOTE--------------------------------------------------------------------- Using WARP WING will not work, I mean it DOES WORK but the Store Clerk will mention about you not being fair and you'll waste a WARP WING. Screw this "biarch!" -----------------------------------------------------------------END NOTE- Leave the store. It's time to purchase and/or upgrade your skills: ALDO ---- UPGRADED DASH THRUST PURCHASED WIND RES. Those are the skills I've purchased and upgraded, you don't have to follow me, your game, your style. But I suggest you upgrade your HEAL spell and purchase all ELEMENTAL SHOTS. Go to the PARTY SELECT screen and tap Nassau. Save your game! I don't think it matters as I believe both options will net you the same end result. But in case you're wondering I picked the 2nd one. After a small talk you're able to control the party again. - SHRINE: AREA 1 - The ROCK TURTLE here can hide inside its shell when it does, all physical attacks are rendered useless unless, of course, you have some crazy ATK stat otherwise let Reiha do her magic. 2 chests: one of them is "BANNA YOGURT" (smooth and creamy) the other treasure chest on the left (all the way) is empty. Still check it out. It's really cool, it's not everyday you get to open an empty chest. - SHRINE: AREA 2 - A scene'll occur introducing you to a new enemy called the D'UHM, statues that are powered by Spiritual energy. Supposedly they're there to keep humans and the Yodomi out. But considering the situation with the Spirits now, most likely, yes if you've guessed it, the thing will attack you. And no this is not a boss fight! I know the way the camera zooms in + the tense music kind of suggests a huge fight is coming up but no... The D'uhm is just another enemy for you to finish to rake in the EXP points. "200 G" is up for grab as well as a "FLASK" for conjuring beast in this area. - SHRINE: AREA 3 - Aha! A Save Point. Aren't you lucky? You should go ahead and save. - SHRINE: AREA 4 - SKY D'UHM is here eh, nothing in particular just felt like informing you. A huge RED AREA can be found here, go on ahead and proceed. Ingiell's charm was found on the floor and beat up, this could only mean one thing: your grandfather is in big trouble. A "WARP WING" can be found in a treasure box as well as "FRESH JUICE" in this area... I bet it's no longer fresh though. After you're done treasure hunting make your way to the next area. - SHRINE: AREA 5 - "500 G" is up for grab as well as "TASTY TEA" in a box! Other than that there's nothing else. - SHRINE: AREA 6 - Save Point! If Reiha is low on SP then stick around by leaving your DS alone, go away and make some juice or coffee then come back. - SHRINE: AREA 7 - There's no sign of Ingiell or Ayn? The screen will scroll to the left... "try some of these" kickass! Seems like Ingiell is busy fighting. The party will run to the old guy and Nassau will get some sort of scolding get ready for another easy fight! ------------------------------------------------------------------------ / S U M M O N N I G H T: T W I N A G E -- P R T C T I N G I E L L / ------------------------------------------------------------------------ o---------INFORMATION WINDOW-----------o | | | BOSS: D'UHM + "YODOMIES" | | RECOMMENDED CHARACTER: REIHA | | SPECIAL OBJECTIVE: PROTECT INGIELL | | REWARD: NONE | o--------------------------------------o I strongly suggest for you to control Reiha instead of Aldo (if you've been using him all this while). Let both Nassau and Aldo do the attacking while you keep Ingiell and everybody safe by abusing Reiha's healing spell. The D'uhm will almost always try to chase Ingiell around, so keep following the old guy, so you can easily heal him whenever necessary. ------------------------------------------------------------------------ / S U M M O N N I G H T: T W I N A G E -- E N D B A T T L E / ------------------------------------------------------------------------ Once this is over, Ingiell will immediately thank both Aldo and Reiha, Nassau got a dressing down from his grandfather for bringing the young heroes into the Shrine... but was countered by Nassau, both ended up apologizing and the corniness end when the topic of Ayn pops up. The Princess is in THE THRONE for the ritual, but since THE THRONE is where the Spirit King resides this means that the place is the most purest of place for Spirits... that would mean that it is also the most dangerous place to be given the current situation with the Spirits. Cut to the chase after much chatting everyone will agree to go save Ayn. The Chapter will then end. ------------------------------------------------------------------------ / S U M M O N N I G H T: T W I N A G E -- C H A P T E R E N D / ------------------------------------------------------------------------ --------------------------------------------------------------------------- #################################### CHAPTER 04: THE PRINCESS' WISH [PW#] #################################### Reiha is worried about the condition of the Spirits, if it gets any worse things may not be so simple... You gotta reassure her or she won't stop her senseless whining. o Stop using the Spirits o Stabilize the Spirits If you're in foul mood then pick the first, if you're feeling kind pick the second. Nassau will urge both heroes to put aside those worries, besides, this is not the time to be all dilly-dally since Ayn is all alone by herself at the throne. ------------------------------------------------------------------------ / S U M M O N N I G H T: T W I N A G E -- O V E R W O R L D M A P / ------------------------------------------------------------------------ o----------INFORMATION WINDOW----------o | | | NEW AREA: THRONE | | LEVEL UP: SHRINE | o--------------------------------------o A new area will open up, but your first stop should be The Dolphin Song, buy some new equipments for your heroes. To complete the whole recipe add a dash of stupid questions and a twist of lame answers: o In a safe place o In a dangerous place o In a boring place o In a stupid place I don't remember Swordcraft Story having these kind of Q & A, at least they were more fun and "upbeat." Pick whatever you like. - THRONE: AREA 1 - A lot of ELEMENTAL D'UHM roam this area. You can find "CLOTH" as well as "BANNA YOGURT" in this area. - THRONE: AREA 2 - D'UHM are crawling like ants here and you'll meet AQUA SPIRIT too! Two treasure chests awaits you "TASTY TEA" + "300 G" money is never enough. This area have two paths for you to take. One is AREA 3 the other is AREA 4. - THRONE: AREA 3 - Save Point! Again we see food being stashed away in a box. How tasty or fresh can those food be? - THRONE: AREA 5 - AREA 5 has two parts, one is accessible via AREA 3, and the other via AREA 4 "300 G" and "BANNA YOGURT" can be found in AREA 5. I suggest you pass the yogurt and pick up the "300 G" instead. In other words don't bother going through AREA 4 to get to the other part of AREA 5, just go straight to AREA 3 (Save Point) and up to AREA 5 the place with "300 G." I can't believe this game made me go out of the way to get a YOGURT stored in a rotten box. Screw you developers! - THRONE: AREA 6 - Another Save Point. Make all your last minute preparations here. - THRONE: AREA 7 - You will see Ayn performing some kind of magic... she is trying to calm the Spirits. You'll get a nice portrait of Ayn. Ayn's magics failed to pacify the Spirits instead a huge mama octopus was born. The two heroes will run to the Princess A fight is inevitable... ------------------------------------------------------------------------ / S U M M O N N I G H T: T W I N A G E -- K R A K E N / ------------------------------------------------------------------------ o---------INFORMATION WINDOW-----------o | | | BOSS: KRAKEN | | RECOMMENDED CHARACTER: REIHA OR ALDO | | REWARD: DODGE QUILL | o--------------------------------------o All three of your ally will rush to the boss to attack it, your job here is to keep their health in check, Ayn will occasionally perform her healing magic but don't depend on her too much she's liable to get hit too (and die), so control Reiha and abuse her Heal spell as much as you can! Keep this up and the giant octopus will be no match for you. Another easy battle won. ------------------------------------------------------------------------ / S U M M O N N I G H T: T W I N A G E -- E N D B A T T L E / ------------------------------------------------------------------------ After a fight, Reiha, Aldo and Ayn will attempt to calm the Spirits down watch a spectacular (hahaha) scene where the three sprites shine into awesomeness. They succeeded in pacifying the Spirits... after much talking Nassau suggested to everyone that we investigate what is casuing all of these for fear that people like Ayn and Aldo will be greatly affected. Mainly because: 1) Ayn is a Priestess so her spiritual power is strong making her susceptible to be corrupted by the darkness, 2) Aldo is a Summon Beast whose affinity with Spirits is pretty much strong too. You'll get two choices: o Find the cause o Talk with everyone I picked the first choice, everyone will agree to delve further into the case you'll get a "TALK TO" screen, talk to anyone you like, I choose to speak with Nassau. ------------------------------------------------------------------------ / S U M M O N N I G H T: T W I N A G E -- C H A P T E R E N D / ------------------------------------------------------------------------ --------------------------------------------------------------------------- ############################### CHAPTER 05: DOMAIN OF MAN [DM#] ############################### Ayn will join you in this Chapter. After a small talk Nassau will suggest that we discuss this over with Ingiell, the screen will fade out to the Overworld Map. Just double tap on EVENT to advance the story. Ingiell will step in and a corny scene will occur. After that's over, the Princess will mention about what she saw in her vision the party will then decide to head for the land of the Humans to investigate. Ingiell mentions Mardin. You'll get a little backstory from Aldo. ------------------------------------------------------------------------ / S U M M O N N I G H T: T W I N A G E -- O V E R W O R L D M A P / ------------------------------------------------------------------------ o----------INFORMATION WINDOW----------o | | | NEW AREA: AMNIO'S PASSAGE | | LEVEL UP: SHRINE | o--------------------------------------o I suggest you level up your party 2 levels higher... If you do not want then it's time to set up your skills and whatnot. Here's what I've purchased and/or upgraded: remember, you don't have to follow me. I'll keep reminding you and be a constant nuisance, I'm sure you're wondering If I'm always going to repeat the same thing then why bother putting up all these? Well, it's for those who're really curious about what I do with my characters (skills/equipments/level wise). ALDO ---- UPGRADED SHOCKWAVE UPGRADED AXE MASTER x2 PURCHASED EARTH RES. REIHA ----- UPGRADED SPARK SHOT UPGRADED HEAL x2 PURCHASED FLASH (TO REACH THE SPELL RESTORE) UPGRADED ALL ELEMENTAL SHOTS PURCHASED RESTORE* Head for The Dolphin Song and talk to the Store Clerk right in front of the counter you'll get another side quest. ------------------------------------------------------------------------ / S U M M O N N I G H T: T W I N A G E -- S I D E Q U E S T 0 3 / ------------------------------------------------------------------------ o----------INFORMATION WINDOW----------o | | | NAME: I AM HUNGRY! | | REWARD: TASTY TEA | | LOCATION: THE DOLPHIN SONG/FRONT CTR | o--------------------------------------o You can either buy BANNA YOGURT over the counter or give one of yours, just be sure you have spare BANNA YOGURT in your "backpack." And no, Store Clerk it's perfectly alright to ask for something strange, and besides, asking for food isn't strange especially if you're broke. Hm... I don't know if you realized? But if you wish to know more about the game (battling, tips, etc) then there's a "Summon Night know-it-all" on the left side of the shop. Talk to her to waste more time. Go to the counter and talk to Nemo, this time instead of buying weapons, I suggest you create one (or two) tap the hammer icon, and pick HARD AXE for Aldo and METAL ROD for Reiha, create AQUAPYR RING for both Aldo and give Reiha the DODGE QUILL don't forget FEATHER ROBE for Reiha and STURDY VEST for Aldo. That should do it! Leave the store and go to AMNIO'S PASSAGE. ------------------------------------------------------------------------ / S U M M O N N I G H T: T W I N A G E -- A M N I O ' S P S G E / ------------------------------------------------------------------------ o----------INFORMATION WINDOW----------o | | | ENEMY(IES): CAVE TURTLE | | WORKER ANT | | SOLDIER ANT | | EARTH SPIRIT | | | | BOSS: OVERGROWN SPIDER | | | | TREASURE(S): WARP WING | | BANNA YOGURT | | FLASK | | TASTY TEA | | 600 G | | | | BRING ALONG: AYN | | | | NEW CHARACTER ALERT: --- | o--------------------------------------o The moment you step inside the passage Ayn will scream, she is afraid of the Yodomi. Aldo will attempt to ease Ayn's worries, and of course life is never complete without trivial questions & answers o I'm here to protect you o Honestly, I'm scared too o Seriously, I don't care Haha, you don't get a third choice. It'd be nice though. Be the nice chap that you are and choose "We're here together" after soothing Ayn's heart, Nassau will complain about his rotting hair the group of 3 will advance into the passage. - AMNIO'S PASSAGE: AREA 1 - CAVE TURTLE should be an easy enemy to overcome, in fact I believe every single enemy (including the so-called boss) are easily overcome. Avoid standing over the purple marshes (or swamps) unless you enjoy seeing your HP going down. "WARP WING" can be obtained in this area as well as "BANNA YOGURT" getting the yogurt may require your life to be in danger cause the treasure is surrounded by swamps. There's two paths for you to take. The one in the north-west will lead you to AREA 2 with a Save Point. The one on the right (north-east) will lead you to AREA 3. - AMNIO'S PASSAGE: AREA 2 - Save Point! - AMNIO'S PASSAGE: AREA 3 - "FLASK" for conjuring beast can be found here. There's nothing else. So backtrack to AREA 1 and head for the north-west exit: AREA 2 for a Save Point. - AMNIO'S PASSAGE: AREA 4 - An empty chest awaits you in this area (well, it's better than storing some strange food inside and calling it FRESH or TASTY, right?) you can find the enemy EARTH SPIRIT here too. Um... talking about TASTY, you can find "TASTY TEA" in this area as well. AREA 4 split into two paths, the one in the middle leads you to another part of AREA 3 with "300 G" up for grab. There's quite a bit of enemy for you to tackle through though but hey it's all for EXP sake. Do whatever you want. - AMNIO'S PASSAGE: AREA 5 - Save Point! You know the drill? Seeing as the next area is marked with a "red box" you should make sure that both Aldo and Reiha's HP/SP are fully charged. Once you're done prepping your party, save one last time and head out! - AMNIO'S PASSAGE: AREA 6 - ------------------------------------------------------------------------ / S U M M O N N I G H T: T W I N A G E -- O G S / ------------------------------------------------------------------------ o---------INFORMATION WINDOW-----------o | | | BOSS: OVERGROWN SPIDER | | RECOMMENDED CHARACTER: REIHA OR ALDO | o--------------------------------------o You can either control Reiha or Aldo, if you wanna play it safe then use Reiha (heal, heal, heal!), if you want this battle to end quickly then switch to Aldo. Ayn will most of the time aid the party with healing magic so HP is not really a problem here, in fact this fight is never a problem to begin with. What the hell? Just bash him good and he will go down in no time. ------------------------------------------------------------------------ / S U M M O N N I G H T: T W I N A G E -- E N D B A T T L E / ------------------------------------------------------------------------ The chapter will come to a close with Nassau being all unreasonable. ------------------------------------------------------------------------ / S U M M O N N I G H T: T W I N A G E -- C H A P T E R E N D / ------------------------------------------------------------------------ -NOTE--------------------------------------------------------------------- The enemy boss in "AMNIO'S PASSAGE" actually re-appears if you visit the place again, you can take this fabulous opportunity to level up! -----------------------------------------------------------------END NOTE- - AMNIO'S PASSAGE: AREA 7 - Yes! There is AREA 7. AREA 6 is the place where you fought the big boss, revisit "AMNIO'S PASSAGE" and you'll fight the boss again, once you've defeated it you can now freely access AREA 7 by going all the way NORTH. You can find "600 G" in AREA 7. --------------------------------------------------------------------------- ############################ CHAPTER 06: THE HERMIT [HT#] ############################ Everyone will discuss about this Sir Mardin, seems like Ingiell trusts him a lot so does Aldo and Reiha, Ayn as well. Nassau as always has a lot of issues with trusting humans, so a lot of jabber going on, and then you get two choices: o Nassau has it right. o Listen to Ayn. I picked the second one. Aldo will stand up for Mardin and Ayn hopes he hasn't move anywhere else... The Dolphin Song will disappear and a brand new icon appears: "MAP CHANGE." You're stepping into Humans territory. I switched Ayn with Nassau (strongly recommended). Double tap on MAP CHANGE to proceed with the storyline. ------------------------------------------------------------------------ / S U M M O N N I G H T: T W I N A G E -- A L C H E I N / ------------------------------------------------------------------------ o---------INFORMATION WINDOW-----------o | | | NEW AREA: DIONA DESERT | | LEVEL UP: AMNIO'S PASSAGE | o--------------------------------------o The Dolphin Song will reappear there's nothing to purchase there. I equip Reiha with TERRA RING, Proceed to DIONA DESERT and an event will occur... wait! I can't remember where the hell I got that TERRA RING though? You should take this opportunity to purchase SP CHARGE for Reiha, if you're already level 14 and above. Get POWER CHOP for Aldo as well, if you're using any other weapon then purchase whatever necessary. ------------------------------------------------------------------------ / S U M M O N N I G H T: T W I N A G E -- D I O N A D E S E R T / ------------------------------------------------------------------------ o----------INFORMATION WINDOW----------o | | | ENEMY(IES): SAND CRAB | | CAMARON | | CREVETTE | | EBI | | FIRE SPIRIT | | | | BOSS: MARDIN | | | | TREASURE(S): GOLDEN ORE x2 | | 400 G | | BANNA YOGURT | | ENER-Z DRINK x2 | | TASTY TEA | | 800 G | | | | BRING ALONG: NASSAU | | | | NEW CHARACTER ALERT: MARDIN | o--------------------------------------o Both heroes are happy to see Knuckle Rock for it signifies that they're closer to meeting Uncle Mardin! It's time to get a move on. - DIONA DESERT: AREA 1 - There's quicksand here, it won't literally "eat you up" but it does slows you down. A lot of SAND CRAB in this area, they're easy to handle, so not much to worry here. You can grab a "GOLDEN ORE" here, it's a material for equipments making. "400 G" is also up for grab! - DIONA DESERT: AREA 2 - "BANNA YOGURT" in a hot burning desert kept in a box (must have melted and smell real bad?) can be found in AREA 2 as well as "ENER-Z DRINK." AREA 2 has two paths for you to take, one with a RED AREA, the other is a BLUE AREA leading to AREA 4. AREA 4 is just a small area with another "GOLDEN ORE" up for grab I suggest you just go for it. - DIONA DESERT: AREA 3 - You'll meet two humans: CARAWAY AND SAFFRON, two idiots on a mission to master the art of magics. Watch the scene and save your game. - DIONA DESERT: AREA 5 - Yep! You're in AREA 5, AREA 4 has already been explained in AREA 2. There is another path for you to take to get to the other part of AREA 4, the exit to that is just north of where you came in. In this part of AREA 4 which is the top part you can find "800 G." Once you're done here head back to AREA 5. Still here and in this section. You can find "ENER-Z DRINK" + "TASTY TEA" in AREA 5. There's nothing else here head on over AREA 6. - DIONA DESERT: AREA 6 - Save point! Make sure Reiha has her HEAL skill equipped as well as TASTY TEA so you can quickly recover 200 SP, SP CHARGE is recommended as well, just for your information Mardin is almost invincible to magic attacks. Do whatever you want with Aldo. In the next fight you'll be controlling Reiha once everything is ready go on ahead and proceed to the next area. - DIONA DESERT: AREA 7 - You will get a nice portrait of Uncle Mardin... A flashback will occur, a little history about how everything came to be with Reiha and Aldo. After quite a bit of verbal exchange, Mardin will challenge you to a fight! ------------------------------------------------------------------------ / S U M M O N N I G H T: T W I N A G E -- M A R D I N / ------------------------------------------------------------------------ o---------INFORMATION WINDOW-----------o | | | BOSS: MARDIN | | RECOMMENDED CHARACTER: REIHA | | REWARD: NONE | o--------------------------------------o Brace yourself for a long fight! Since Mardin is a physical type character he will charge at you to inflict damage. Instead of relying on Aldo to fight control Reiha instead. Try your best to stay away from Mardin but make an effort to stay close to both Aldo and Nassau. As both guys are busy whacking Mardin you should busy yourself with healing the rest! If you're ran out of SP, go as far away as you can and use TASTY TEA or SP CHARGE once you're set go back and provide healing magic to the others. Rinse and repeat and this battle will be over (it's quite a long battle) it's ok to die on the first try, I died a couple of times before I actually win. ------------------------------------------------------------------------ / S U M M O N N I G H T: T W I N A G E -- E N D B A T T L E / ------------------------------------------------------------------------ By defeating Mardin you've convinced the Ex-Summoner that you're strong and are able to fend for yourselves. Nassau's being the unreasonable Kascuza that he is still refuses to trust Mardin. Mardin will explain to you about a couple of things and you'll get two options here: o The reason he was exiled o What's wrong with Spirits Both options will net you the same kind of conversation, so choose whatever you will. Mardin will further explain that both Reiha and Aldo were involved in the Summoner's top-secret project. Read on to find out more... The chapter will close with everyone staying over at Mardin's. This is quite a short chapter. I chose to speak with Mardin. ------------------------------------------------------------------------ / S U M M O N N I G H T: T W I N A G E -- C H A P T E R E N D / ------------------------------------------------------------------------ --------------------------------------------------------------------------- ################################ CHAPTER 07: SHIFTING IDEAS [SI#] ################################ Mardin will leave the house to investigate the Catheirns, he has ordered everyone to stay home... but, you know that will never happen right? Nassau will vent a little bit more about his hatred towards humans, particularly the Summoners. After the chitchat the Overworld Map will have an event marked over "DIONA DESERT." ------------------------------------------------------------------------ / S U M M O N N I G H T: T W I N A G E -- O V E R W O R L D M A P / ------------------------------------------------------------------------ o---------INFORMATION WINDOW-----------o | | | EVENT AREA: DIONA DESERT | | NEW AREA: EOS FOREST | o--------------------------------------o Head for "DIONA DESERT" and the game will shift to the party at Mardin's house, the whole place will shake indicating an earthquake. Nice. Everyone decided to check things out. A new area will pop up -- "EOS FOREST." Don't go there just yet! Visit the shop first and talk to Caraway and he'll mention something about a "GENIUS SODA," apparently drinking one would make an individual smart? Offer to bring him one and you'll start the 4th side quest of the game. ------------------------------------------------------------------------ / S U M M O N N I G H T: T W I N A G E -- S I D E Q U E S T 0 4 / ------------------------------------------------------------------------ o----------INFORMATION WINDOW----------o | | | NAME: I NEED SOME GENIUS | | REWARD: NASSAU VEST | | LOCATION: THE DOLPHIN SONG/CARAWAY | o--------------------------------------o "GENIUS SODA" can be found in EOS FOREST (as a treasure) make doubly sure you don't use it or something, and there's no rush in bringing in the soda to Caraway (no harm in letting him be stupid for a while longer right?). Complete EOS FOREST first then you can pass Caraway the soda. Anyway enter EOS FOREST and let your adventure begin... ------------------------------------------------------------------------ / S U M M O N N I G H T: T W I N A G E -- E O S F O R E S T / ------------------------------------------------------------------------ o----------INFORMATION WINDOW----------o | | | ENEMY(IES): BOGFROG | | BEETLE JR | | MR. After the annoying banter the screen will switch to two new characters: TICAH AND ZARAHM, only Ticah is usable... Did I spoilt you? I hope not so severely. - EOS FOREST: AREA 1 - Avoid the marshes as always this place looks kind of familiar? Did they recycle this map from "AMNIO'S PASSAGE?" Sweet, you guys! BOBFROG, BEETLE JR and MR. BEETLE roam this area (and no, you won't get to meet MRS. BEETLE) but that's not important, what is important is the "GENIUS SODA" which can be found in this area, you wanna help someone be smart right? BUT! That can wait. Let's take our time to explore this minimalist "labyrinth" of a forest. FLASK is also obtainable but it's surrounded by marshes, only grab it if you actually use it to conjure beast otherwise another man's junk is not exactly another man's treasure. Get what I mean, get what I mean?! Well, there's nothing else here. - EOS FOREST: AREA 2 - The enemy WIND SPIRIT can be found here, every spirit seems to run away from you so killing them for an entry in the bestiary can be a pain if the map have poison marshes like this one. Anyway, "800 G" is up for grab as well as "ENER-Z DRINK." - EOS FOREST: AREA 3 - Save Point. Rest up, heal your HP, restore your SP completely then save! - EOS FOREST: AREA 4 - "ROOKIE 1" can be found in this area as well as... -NOTE--------------------------------------------------------------------- Any item that ends with a number are usually for enhancing your weapons, you can enhance weaponry at The Dolphin Song. Tap the sword icon and you're ready to do your thing! Enhancing works the same way as creating. So, there's no real need for me to teach you right? -----------------------------------------------------------------END NOTE- "1000 G" the treasures are getting better right? - EOS FOREST: AREA 5 - "WARP WING" surrounded by marshes it's worth getting and I suggest you do so, this one is the one that's located in the NORTHWEST area of the map. The one located in the middle right is EMPTY and it's also surrounded by marshes, unless you get high opening an empty chest I recommend that you leave it alone. - EOS FOREST: AREA 6 - Save Point! Do the usual routine of healing everyone. Make sure you equip Reiha with TASTY TEA and SP CHARGE and possibly her high ranking spells. I do hope you did some nice skills preparation in the Overworld Map just now? I will now no longer (or perhaps rarely) do any of those "UPGRADE or PURCHASE SKILLS" thing. - EOS FOREST: AREA 7 - ------------------------------------------------------------------------ / S U M M O N N I G H T: T W I N A G E -- Z A R A H M / ------------------------------------------------------------------------ o---------INFORMATION WINDOW-----------o | | | BOSS: ZARAHM | | RECOMMENDED CHARACTER: REIHA | | REWARD: NONE | o--------------------------------------o Get the conversation out of the way and you will fight ZARAHM, all thanks to Nassau for being a prick, even if he's a human he's still a beast for having that kind of hairstyle. If Mardin pisses you off, Zarahm can make you throw your DS across the room. You can use the same strategy you used against Mardin for Zarahm. In case you're lazy I'll re-explain below: Zarahm CAN push you to the edge with his SLEEP magic, the good point about this is that when you're sleeping, you actually recover HP ever so slowly but under no circumstances should you let Reiha fall asleep. She's the only healer you are able to control don't you ever forget that. The trick here is to run away as far as you can WHENEVER you see Zarahm charging for some kind of magic, it could be a WIND spell that causes damage or the dreadful sleep spell! Your motive here is to just heal with Reiha (use the top screen to check everyone's health), reocver your SP with TASTY TEA there's almost no time for you to charge with SP CHARGE but if you could then it would be awesome, otherwise just rely on TASTY TEA. Keep this up and Zarahm will go down in no time. ------------------------------------------------------------------------ / S U M M O N N I G H T: T W I N A G E -- E N D B A T T L E / ------------------------------------------------------------------------ The party excluding Nassau will attempt to "heal" Ticah. Once the Spirits have calmed down a tone or two, Aldo's bandana will drop. You'll see the brand on Aldo's forehead, Zarahm noticed and look sort of surprised... Watch the scene and everyone will leave both Zarahm and Ticah alone. Ayn is depressed that humans are afraid of the Kascuza, well if you ask me the only thing I'm afraid of is Nassau's hair. Beat that! o Don't worry about it. o They just don't know you. Pick whichever. I picked the 2nd one. ------------------------------------------------------------------------ / S U M M O N N I G H T: T W I N A G E -- C H A P T E R E N D / ------------------------------------------------------------------------ --------------------------------------------------------------------------- ############################## CHAPTER 08: A HUMAN GIRL [HG#] ############################## Ticah will join your party under the orders of Zarahm, everyone will be suspicious of Ticah. Follow the conversation and you'll get two choices: o She'll try even harder. o She's not strong enough. I picked the first. And then you get another 2 choices: o Yes! o No! I believe if you choose "Yes!" Nassau will leave the party and his SUPPORT RANK will go down. I'm not sure what happens if you choose "No!" I picked the first choice just to piss Nassau off :) and it doesn't bother me if his SUPPORT RANK go down or up anyway. You'll be at the Overworld Map. ------------------------------------------------------------------------ / S U M M O N N I G H T: T W I N A G E -- O V E R W O R L D M A P / ------------------------------------------------------------------------ o---------INFORMATION WINDOW-----------o | | | NEW AREA: CATHEIRN 7 | | LEVEL UP: AMNIO'S PASSAGE | | EOS FOREST | o--------------------------------------o Give Caraway the "GENIUS SODA" and he will exchange it for a "NASSAU VEST" how in the world he got the vest (and Nassau's at that?) is beyond me? Go talk to the girl at the counter and choose to make your equipments, you should have enough materials for weapon making. Get whatever necessary and buy LEATHER VEST for Aldo, leave the shop. In the Overworld Map choose your party (either Ayn or Ticah both are ok) be sure to make necessary preparations for your skills. If you're at level 24 then upgrade "SP CHARGE" for Reiha. If you're not you can either go level up or go upgrade something else (ALL ELEMENTAL SHOTS & "HEAL" SPELL PLEASE UPGRADE TO MAX LEVEL IF POSSIBLE). Purchase "WATER RES." to gLNT access to "HEAL SUPREME" which is a better version of "HEAL," and purchase "THUNDER SHOT" to have access to "SP UP," likewise if you're able to buy then go ahead, otherwise wait for the appropriate level. Do whatever you want with Aldo. Once you're all prepped up, go on ahead and visit CATHEIRN 7. ------------------------------------------------------------------------ / S U M M O N N I G H T: T W I N A G E -- C A T H E I R N 7 / ------------------------------------------------------------------------ o----------INFORMATION WINDOW----------o | | | ENEMY(IES): STONE CRAB | | AQUASENTINEL | | FIRESENTINEL | | AQUASENTAUR | | FIRESENTAUR | | FLAMESENTAUR | | FIRE SPIRIT | | | | BOSS: FLAME DRAGON | | | | TREASURE(S): BANNA WIGGLY | | GENIUS SODA x2 | | STUDENT 1 | | 900 G | | ROOKIE 2 | | TOUGH RUBBER | | 1500 G | | | | BRING ALONG: AYN OR TICAH | | | | NEW CHARACTER ALERT: --- | o--------------------------------------o More Spirits talking and Ticah will run upfront, you'll see a scene akin to when you first visit THE THRONE or was it the SHRINE? - CATHEIRN 7: AREA 1 - STONE CRABS roam this area, also there's this spikey thing that when you walk or stand over them you'll lose some sweet HP, so if you don't enjoy seeing your life being drain away don't stand on them... Unless there's some kickass treasure to be had! Walk up ahead ignoring the spikey thing on the left, you'll meet up with an AQUASENTINEL, nothing to worry about since he has WATER affinity counter that with some hot FIRE. There's a treasure chest surrounded by spikes it's a "BANNA WIGGLY" if you love these sort of stuff then go ahead, otherwise I personally think it's not worth hurting your life over a WIGGLY (*jiggle jiggle*). If you go over to the right side of the map you'll meet FIRESENTINEL, counter them with AQUA SHOTS and they should go down in no time. The "GENIUS SODA" is found in the northwestern part of the map! - CATHEIRN 7: AREA 2 - You can find the enemy FLAMESENTAUR and AQUASENTAUR in this area. A treasure containing "STUDENT 1" is obtainable in the middle right of the map. An enemy called the FIRE SPIRIT is also found here, if you look at the bestiary there's two entries: one is 23 the other 34, both are different in a sense one is corrupted the other is wild. Huh? Don't ask me, the Bestiary is bad in this installment. "900 G" is up for grab in the top middle of the map. AREA 2 branches two paths: one is located on the left, the other on the right. LEFT: AREA 3: Empty room leading to another area. RIGHT: AREA 5: Room with a Save Point. Let's start with AREA 3 first, the path one the left. - CATHEIRN 7: AREA 3 - Just go on up ahead to AREA 4. - CATHEIRN 7: AREA 4 - You can find "ROOKIE 2" as well as "TOUGH RUBBER." You're done... THAT'S IT! Backtrack to AREA 2 and take the right path to AREA 5. - CATHEIRN 7: AREA 5 - Save Point! Make any preparation that you may want to do. - CATHEIRN 7: AREA 6 - In the topmost part of the map on the left you can grab yourself some "1500 G" on the right is a "GENIUS SODA," this map seems pretty generous with its treasures, and they're all not that bad. Don't you think? - CATHEIRN 7: AREA 7 - Save Point! Heal up and get everything ready, your usual "HEAL" spells ("SUPREME HEAL" INCLUDED) and "SP CHARGE." Save your game and proceed. - CATHEIRN 7: AREA 8 - Nassau will step in just in time to save Ticah, he will mention something about ending this together (or something like that) truth is he's not even there to help out the rest. Who's the real pain here? ------------------------------------------------------------------------ / S U M M O N N I G H T: T W I N A G E -- F L A M E D R A G O N / ------------------------------------------------------------------------ o---------INFORMATION WINDOW-----------o | | | BOSS: FLAME DRAGON | | RECOMMENDED CHARACTER: ALDO OR REIHA | | REWARD: NONE | o--------------------------------------o The FLAME DRAGON may look kind of intimidating but he's notthing big really. If you brought Ticah with you then I suggest you control Reiha to have her heal everyone (the AI is good, but NOT THAT good). If you brought Ayn instead then controlling either Aldo or Reiha is fine. I brought Ayn and didn't have much trouble when it comes to healing. The trick here is to abuse AQUA SHOT (why do you think I asked you to max all ELEMENTAL SHOTS?) so if you wish to end this quick then controlling Reiha is recommended. ------------------------------------------------------------------------ / S U M M O N N I G H T: T W I N A G E -- E N D B A T T L E / ------------------------------------------------------------------------ Nassau and Ticah made up their mind to accept each other as friends. The usual three will attempt to purify the Catheirn... will they succeed? That's for you to find out. Lol. Once you got the conversation out of the way, you'll be brought back to the Overworld Map. "DIONA DESERT" will be marked as EVENT. Save first if you want and double tap on "DIONA DESERT." Another scene occur before you turn in for the night. Talk to anyone you want. ------------------------------------------------------------------------ / S U M M O N N I G H T: T W I N A G E -- C H A P T E R E N D / ------------------------------------------------------------------------ --------------------------------------------------------------------------- ############################### CHAPTER 09: SEPARATE WAYS [SW#] ############################### *Dun dun dun* everyone here will go their separate ways... Nah! I don't know... Maybe? Perhaps? I think so? No matter. The highlight of this conversation is that, no matter how they explain the situation you just need to know 2 things: o There are many Summon Beasts. o They destroyed a couple of facilities. The conversations is kind of annoying, seems to me like everyone is in their own world talking crap, like for example: Ayn keeps repeating about how "darkness" and "Spirits" are corrupted and suffering respecitively while Mardin, is busy analyzing "what's going on." Nassau is in his own world dissing the humans and Ticah keep feeling sorry for herself/everyone else. Reiha and Aldo observes in disbelief. It may look like they're actually discussing together, but believe me they're not paying attention to one another. Well, at the very least they gives you a funny scene. The screen will switch to the Overworld Map double tap on "EVENT" to move on. You get two choices that actually matters (drastically I might add). o Mardin's suggestion o Ticah's suggestion Yes, if you pick Mardin's suggestion you'll follow his lead, if you pick Ticah's suggestion you'll follow her lead. I chose Ticah (since I've already chosen Mardin's in my other save file, and no I won't put both paths in this guide -- I'm lazy, y'all!). ------------------------------------------------------------------------ / S U M M O N N I G H T: T W I N A G E -- O V E R W O R L D M A P / ------------------------------------------------------------------------ o---------INFORMATION WINDOW-----------o | | | NEW AREA: OREANO PLAINS | | LEVEL UP: CATHEIRN 7 | o--------------------------------------o Pay a visit to the shop before you decide to advance the storyline, there is a side quest for you to do. Talk to Saffron (one half of the "Idiot Gang") and she'll mention something about "MANA ROBE." Buy it and pass the Robe to her and you're done. This is what you get after spending 2260 G? Seriously! After you're done with the quest, take time to buy some new equipments, as of right now the only one that benefits is Aldo with "FULL CRUSH" an axe weapon. I created it. No armor whatsoever to purchase get out of the shop and visit "OREANO PLAINS." Oh.. OOPS! Now: enter "OREANO PLAINS." Two Summoners will hinder your progress Ticah mentions something about "FUGATIVE" summon... Nice! Some arguments and Aldo reveals himself as a dude... Mardin asks you to run away and you did! Now, you find yourself in "OREANO PLAINS." - OREANO PLAINS: AREA 1 - The enemy HERMITORT hides in its shell when he's sad... What kind of Bestiary entry is this? Anyway, you can find "BANNA WIGGLY" + "1000 G" in this area, there's nothing else here. - OREANO PLAINS: AREA 2 - One empty chest. One "TIGHT SHORTS" equip it on Aldo right away! One or two stats might go down but it's nothing major to worry about. The "TIGHT SHORTS" offer Aldo some great defenses. - OREANO PLAINS: AREA 3 - Save Point! Do your thing! - OREANO PLAINS: AREA 4 - The item "BEAST SCALE" is in a chest as well as "1600" worth of G! There's nothing else here so, move on. - OREANO PLAINS: AREA 5 - "MYTHRIL ORE" as well as "GENIUS SODA are up for grab here. - OREANO PLAINS: AREA 6 - Save Point! The first move is where it blasts laser from its tail in a arc-shape formation going from "left to right." The second is where it cuts you up in a thrust, both moves are stupid and shouldn't bother you at all, hack away at him and everything will be over before you knew it. ------------------------------------------------------------------------ / S U M M O N N I G H T: T W I N A G E -- E N D B A T T L E / ------------------------------------------------------------------------ Everyone will leave Mardin behind and move on ahead... ------------------------------------------------------------------------ / S U M M O N N I G H T: T W I N A G E -- C H A P T E R E N D / ------------------------------------------------------------------------ --------------------------------------------------------------------------- ################################## CHAPTER 10: MISUNDERSTANDING [MD#] ################################## Watch a magnificent scene between 2 Summoners and a Summon Beast, a new character appears before you "ARLUS" and no, you won't get to use him but it'd be cool... CORYN: AREA 1 - There's "BANNA WIGGLY" in this area, there seems to be a swamp of this "BANNA WIGGLY" thing? Is it that good? But I'm really against storing food product in a treasure chest. Anyway, you can find the enemy "DRAGONISH" here the funny thing about this enemy is the entry in the Bestiary... "Looks like a dragon, but it isn't." OH?! "GENIUS SODA" is available for you to take. Grab it, drink it and become smart like Caraway. - MT. CORYN: AREA 2 - Get richer by "1100 G" as well as the ability to warp out of dungeon with "WARP WING." - MT. CORYN: AREA 3 - Save Point! You know the drill. - MT. CORYN: AREA 4 - "STUDENT 1" for weapon enhancing can be found here. "FLASK" for conjuring beast is also here, I wanted to ask: how many of you actually bother to conjure beast and summon them in battle? - MT. CORYN: AREA 5 - "1700 G" as well as "GENIUS SODA" are here for you to loot. - MT. CORYN: AREA 6 - Save Point! Like always make any last minute preparations here... Did I mention you'll be fighting two bosses? Make sure "TASTY TEA" is all set, bring in your BEST magic (ELEMENTAL SHOTS & some HIGH RANKING) with you and proceed. - MT. The "GARUDA" affinity lies with the WIND, so some EARTH SHOT would do some good, it's only impressive in design, but not all that amazing on the battlefield. You should be able to bring him down in a moment or two. A scene will occur and you'll meet a new character... You may have already been spoilt (not by my guide) by the instruction booklet... Yes, she is Lila and you'll be fighting her. ------------------------------------------------------------------------ / S U M M O N N I G H T: T W I N A G E -- L I L A / ------------------------------------------------------------------------ o---------INFORMATION WINDOW-----------o | | | BOSS: LILA | | RECOMMENDED CHARACTER: REIHA | | REWARD: NONE | o--------------------------------------o This battle may take quite a while. Lila has some of the most impressive skills at her disposal, one is similar to Reiha's "FLAME BURST." One is a DASH THRUST much like Aldo's spear skill and the last is "IFRIT'S BREATH" something like a breath of fire spewing in your face. (did I missed out anything else?) If you're not careful your party can go to Hell here. You should control Reiha and have her abuse her healing spell as much as you can, Ayn will be handy in aiding you with healing magic as well (now, do you see why I asked you to bring Ayn along?) Lila is not that hard but she tends to run around and then casting magic (which will make her invincible, and you should be stepping away). Other than that just keep up with the healing Lila should go down in a while... ------------------------------------------------------------------------ / S U M M O N N I G H T: T W I N A G E -- E N D B A T T L E / ------------------------------------------------------------------------ Once you've defeated Lila Mardin will pop up. One is to listen to Lila, the other is not to. If you choose to listen Lila will join you, otherwise you won't get to use her for a little while. By the way, choosing no for an answer will net you a SUPER funny scene (in my opinion). If you want to know NOW then jump to the "Funny Moments" section. Regardless of your answer Nassau will still leave the group. Oh! I picked no for this one. The shop will also have new equipments for you to purchase... or rather MAKE. If you wish to save your G then it's recommended that you make them. Get whatever weapon you like for Aldo (depending on what skill you use for him). Buy "CARNELI WAND" and "RIBBON DRESS" for Reiha. Leave the shop. SCRATCH THAT! You don't really have that many choices. Bring Ayn along. - TUPAROTH CHASM: AREA 1 - "BANNA WIGGLY" is the first treasure I got in this area. Seems like for the past few chapters I've been getting Wiggly?... There's nothing else here so go to the next area. - TUPAROTH CHASM: AREA 2 - "2 ATK SCROLL" for enhancing your weapons can be found here. You can also get richer by "1200 G." AREA 2 have two exits for you to take... One is at the bottom (all the way) leading to AREA 4 with a Save Point, the other is in the NORTWEST part of the map leading to AREA 3. We're taking the latter. - TUPAROTH CHASM: AREA 3 - There are two reasons why you should come here, one is the treasure "SPARK MARBLE" and the other is to collect enough "HYPER GLUE" (hit the crates & boxes). Once you're done with this place head back to AREA 2 and go all the way south to get to AREA 4 with a Save Point! - TUPAROTH CHASM: AREA 4 - Save Point! Do you thing! - TUPAROTH CHASM: AREA 5 - A small scene will occur Lila awakens all shocked and surprised... "you sucker-punched me" haha! She will run towards a lunch box and immediately knows that it's her partner Arlus... - TUPAROTH CHASM: AREA 6 - Another "BANNA WIGGLY" awaits you patiently in a treasure box. That is all in the next area an event will occur. - TUPAROTH CHASM: AREA 7 - Watch the scene as Aldo go slightly out of control and Millisar removing his cape to introduce himself. Quite a bit of drama here. After a bit of verbal exchange Millisar will invite you to visit the Catheirn, something inside will definitely change your opinions of the humans. Oh really? There's no boss fight for this chapter. There's a lot of ELEMENTAL enemies in "CATHEIRN 11" so you want to arm Reiha with all of her ELEMENTAL SHOTS? Your choice. - CATHEIRN 11: AREA 1 - The first treasure I receive from this area is a "BANNA WIGGLY" what did I do to deserve this? Huh?! The second chest contained a better treasure: $ "1300 G." - CATHEIRN 11: AREA 2 - Seems like "BANNA WIGGLY" is hot stuff, or maybe it sucks so much, people seal it away in a treasure chest? Well, at the very least they should've locked it! A "FLASK" can be found on the lower left part of the map. It's surrounded by spikes, whether it's worth the risk or not to get it is up to you. If you ask me, I say, leave it unless you love making beasts... - CATHEIRN 11: AREA 3 - Save Point! But some bosses like MARDIN and ZARAHM are no pushover, so I provided some better tips to overcome them. If you have any out of this world strategies you wanna share with other players then send me an e-mail and I'll add your contribution with full credits. Don't forget your kickass name or alias, please make it short, sweet and simple I won't accept **~~12*dArK_H0lY_ PrInzess* of Hope *& drEamZ12~~** as an alias, give me those crap and I'll replace it with "Miss Potato." CHAPTER 06: THE HERMIT ---------------------- o---------INFORMATION WINDOW-----------o | | | BOSS: MARDIN | | RECOMMENDED CHARACTER: REIHA | | REWARD: NONE | o--------------------------------------o Ok, Mardin can be surprisingly hard... or rather it's suprising that the difficulty took a sudden jump here. What you need to prepare are these couple of things: BRING IN NASSAU. BE PREPARED FOR A LONG (QUITE) BATTLE. REIHA: SP CHARGE, TASTY TEA, HEAL (LV. 4 & above). There's not much to prep when it comes to Reiha her job here is to heal everyone and keep her SP in check. If you're running out of "fuel" then refill with TASTY TEA or recharge with SP CHARGE. Keep her away from Mardin but at the same time stay close to your other two comrades, give them the necessary healing power. ALDO: Out of the three available weapons (SWORD, AXE & SPEAR), the SWORD got the widest variety of skills as compared to the other two (AXE & SPEAR). If you're using SWORD then I recommend you upgrade SWORD DANCE to level 4 and above, LAND SLASH is good but it's too random to hit, you can aim but you can't stop Mardin from dodging by running around, right? So, SWORD DANCE is your best bet. If you're using SPEAR you can try DASH THRUST but it's risky since you'll be lunging right into him if he hits you repeatedly you can health can go down fast! AXE is SLOW but it gives you that additional difficulty that you've been looking for in this game? Bottom- line you can use whatever weapon you want BUT I STRONGLY RECOMMEND for you to use SWORD. STRATEGY IN POINT-TO-POINT FORM: o Play as Reiha (control her) and make her heal whenever necessary. o Keep her away from Mardin, but stay close to your other party members. o Use TASTY TEA or SP CHARGE whenever necessary! --------------------------------------------------------------------------- ################### FUNNY MOMENTS [FM$] ################### This game has its moments, most of them are memorable and some are really hilarious like the one scene when Aldo dressed up as a girl, priceless. I've compiled here what I think is funny, if I missed out any scenes, dialogues or moments, and you'd like me to add it to this section then just drop me an e- mail! Thanks! 01. HEEEY! WAIT FOR ME!! ------------------------ If you leave your other party members too far behind and proceed to the next area without them, they'll scream for you to wait for them. 02. TICAH FAINTING (CHAPTER 07: "SHIFTING IDEAS") ------------------------------------------------- I thought this was funny, in chapter 07: "Shifting Ideas" you will meet a new character called Ticah. After the fight with Zarahm the party attempt to "heal" the fainted girl, they succeeded and as soon as Ticah recovers she fainted again, the conversation following that is kind of humorous. 03. ALDO DRESSING UP AS A GIRL (CHAPTER 09: "SEPARATE WAYS") ---------------------------------------------------------- 04. HERE LET ME DRAW YOU! (CHAPTER 11: "AS A SUMMON BEAST") ----------------------------------------------------------- When you're given two choices whether to follow Lila or not, choose no and you'll get a funny scene where Nassau attempted to draw Ticah... The downside to this is that, you won't get to use Lila for a while, but it's not biggie. If you want a good laugh then there's no harm choosing no for an answer. --------------------------------------------------------------------------- M I S C E L L A N E O U S [04^] You'll find things that'll enrich you about the game such as the ever-so- awesome FAQ, the Links section and so on. Please take the time to look through especially the FAQ, chances are, your burning hot questions may have already been answered. ######################### QUESTIONS & ANSWERS [QA+] ######################### Got a question? Send it in, my e-mail address can be found both at the top and at the bottom of this guide. Please do take the time to read through the FAQ. They're not in order. Q: Where did you get all the names of the bosses? I don't see them in the Bestiary? A: Bosses don't get an entry in the Bestiary... They're too cool for that, I gave them all the names. :D - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - Q: This game is so straightforward and obvious, I don't think we need a guide. You're wasting your time, besides I'm able to complete this game in less than 19 hours, I can complete it even with my eyes closed. A: Oh?! Is that right? You actually bothered to read my guide, find my e-mail and tell me about this? If you don't need a guide then I supposed you shouldn't be lurking around at the FAQ section of Summon Night: Twin Age. Ah-ah! If you're going to say it's my right wherever I wanna surf" then I can say the same thing: "it's my right if I WANTED TO make a FAQ for a straightforward and obvious game. In other words, piss off Mr/Miss Potato. And playing a game with your eyes closed? That's quite a feat in the history of gaming. I'm so impressed I'm puking stars. - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - Q: How old are you? A: 23 - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - Q: Ew! Your guide is ridden with spoilers! A: That's just too bad then. I'm honestly not that good at covering up, besides it's not all that easy to make a spoiler-free guide you know. And I don't get why people are so hot and bothered if they're spoilt? Maybe it's just me? But it's not like your life will be permanently damage if you read some spoilers? - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - Q: How many chapters are there and roughly how many hours? A: There's 21 chapters (including chapter 00). I've logged about 16+ hours in my other slot I'm at Chapter 15 or so now. UPDATE: I completed the game at 19 hours. - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - Q: What's your next FAQ? I'm liking the way you write your guide! A: Thanks! My next one would be FINAL FANTASY TACTICS ADVANCE 2: GRIMOIRE OF THE RIFT. - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - Q: The story's kind of lame. A: That's not even a question. But if you ask me, story don't matter. As long as the gameplay is fun then it's all good in my book this applies to FFTA 2: Grimoire of the Rift as well. There's a lot of bitching from the fans about how lame the story is. *sigh* just give and take. You can't have the best of both worlds. Oh! Please go purchase a copy of FFTA 2! :) - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - Q: Help!! Mardin's killing me! A: I did provide some strategy for overcoming Mardin. But, yes Mardin is a jerk and I'm surprised at the sudden increase in difficulty... all I can say is: play as Reiha and heal as much as you can. It's ok to die on your first try. Leveling up prior to this fight also helps a bit. - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - Q: God why won't you accept ~~12*dArK_H0lY_PrInzess of Hope & drEamZ12~~** as an internet alias? People are trying to be creative! A: Creative my ass. They're just being stupid, and asking me these kind of questions is even stupider than stupid. Go away! - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - Q: This game is too easy, is there any trick to make it hard? A: No idea. I do read at the forums that many people who've played the Japanese version finds it awful that the US version has been dumbed down. But then again this game was aimed towards the young ones (10 years and below) hence is why I think they reduced the difficulty. Hmmm... I take back the "No idea" I said earlier. How about you go try playing a Low-Level Game? Don't upgrade your equipments and limit your skills usage (or don't upgrade or purchase any skills)? I bet this'll make the game so much harder that you'll piss in your pants, get some diapers ready! Just in case. --------------------------------------------------------------------------- ####################### GLITCHES & ISSUES [GI+] ####################### Not limited to glitches and issues, it could be in-game typos, graphical issues, or any other funky stuff that happened in game. If you discovered anything that I do not have here, then please e-mail me about it, and I'll add it here to the list. Leave behind your name or alias so I can properly credit you. Thank you! TYPOS ----- Minor issue but they spelt fugitive as "fugative" this happened in Chapter 8 or 9 when Aldo dressed up as a girl to avoid the Summoners. They were stopped halfway through when 2 Summoners approaches them for questioning. GRAPHICAL --------- In chapter 6: "The Hermit" during the scene where Mardin brought both Aldo and Reiha to Ingiell, his character portrait does not have any "Summonite" attached to the side of his head, but his sprite shows that he has both "Summonite" on. BESTIARY -------- It seems to me that the Bestiary is kind of messed up, some of the sprites are confusing especially the "D'uhm series." There's a lot more but I don't have time to really sit down and list them out, I'll get back to this when I am more free. --------------------------------------------------------------------------- ########### LINKS [LI+] ########### A wealth of links for your reading pleasure. So, updates for this FAQ and reply to e-mails might be late. But, don't start panicking ok I receive them, I just need to read and update accordingly. My one and only e-mail address is - defunct32athotmail.com. Where subject is concerned please insert something relevant. I don't mind e-mail chat. I don't mind questions. my only concern are people who can't properly use the English language (grammar-wise) everyone make typos, every single one of us make mistakes every now and then. My advice is for you to double check your e-mail before sending it out. If you're going to be critical please be constructive, calling my FAQ stupid and useless without a note on how to improve is dumb, since I never forced you to read my guide anyway, you can always go read someone's elses, be my guest. --------------------------------------------------------------------------- ########## BLOG [FB!] ########## FAQ Blogging! Well, I do have a Livejournal account but I rarely log in there but if you wish to add me as a friend on that site, then e-mail me your URL and I'll personally add you. Otherwise, you don't have to read all of these, they're just random ramblings. Haha. 11 MORE CHAPTERS TO GO! // 2:20 AM 27/06/2008 --------------------------------------------- More power to me! I'm completing the main walkthrough of this guide soon, once I'm done with this guide I only need to tie up the loose ends such as the "ITEMS LIST," "BOSS STRATEGIES" and whatnot. So if you're reading this and would like to help lame ol' me then please do so! THANKS a bunch. Anyway I got a call from one of my friends telling me he already grabbed a copy of FINAL FANTASY TACTICS ADVANCE 2: GRIMOIRE OF THE RIFT. Ugh! I was filled with so much desire to go get that game back then, but I'm short of cha-ching, so I gotta wait for "payday" lol. This is what my friend told me: "Ok I guess I can comment about the game. I've played about 1hr 50 mins. I must say that this game is about the same as Luminous Arc, but maybe a bit better and bearable... good soundtrack + good animations, pretty smooth. If I must rate then I give this game somewhere around 8.3?" Luminous Arc? LUMINOUS ARC? Noo... While I may like L.A. I don't think that game is anywhere near or comparable to the FF series, L.A. needs to be more polished and more finished, the first one feels kind of rushed! I hope the new one (L.A 2) is more complete. Hm... *marks calendar* 01st July 08 -/- - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - 2 MORE WEEKS! & JUST LET GO... // 4:04 AM 21/06/2008 ---------------------------------------------------- I'm always up late into the wee morning. I can't sleep... Anyone got any cure for this thing called insomnia? Don't ask me to count sheeps ok! Don't ask me to count pigs either. Anyway I'm pretty pysche for the arrival of Final Fantasy Tactics Advance 2: Grimoire of The Rift (that's quite a mouthful). I've been dreaming day and night (probably why I can't sleep?) it's freakin' crazy. I know how everyone is disappointed with the lack of a story with the game, but oh well, can't we give and take just this once? It's the FF series even I know how stale the installment is getting. We bitched, we moaned and we cursed, but we still ended up buying, right? And then we bitch, we moaned and we cursed again on fanboard (like GameFAQs/spot) when is this gonna end? It's kind of sick having to read the same topic over and over again. "the story blows" "square is milking the series" "i'm disappointed with the story" "man this is not epic" "is this the same as FFT for the ps1?" "we need an EPIC story" "no... it's another lousy game with crappy story" "been there done that" "same game, slightly better mechanism worse story" "should i get this?" "how's the story?" "what kind of sequel feels the same as the original?" Well just shove it down your whiney throat! You're still gonna eat it no matter how played out, crappy or repeated the plot is... -/- - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - WHOA! I HAD A BLAST // 4:34 AM 13/06/2008 ----------------------------------------- Haha! Never knew this game could be this good! I invested about 3 hours last night purchasing and upgrading a lot of skills. Hmm... the gameplay reminds me a bit of that MMPORPG game called "Ragnarok?" Is that it? Anyway... Right now I'm at Chapter 8 but I am playing on a clean slot for this guide and have just reached Chapter 3. I've also discovered this weird ass glitch or something like that with the reward we earn in Chapter 00. -/- - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - BOUGHT THE GAME // 5:01 PM 10/06/2008 ------------------------------------- I grabbed a copy yesterday and invested about a couple of hours in, it's good glad I purchased it, yeah. I wasn't too keen about Summon Night cause I dislike that weird "left to right, right to left" battle system they had on the GBA, until a friend showed me a couple of vids on Youtube. ;) Since GameFAQs lacking some SN:TA guide I decided to create one of my own I hope this turns out well *crosses fingers*. -/- --------------------------------------------------------------------------- ####################### FAMOUS LAST WORDS [LW+] ####################### As of writing this FAQ I am still in the progress of completing this guide so this is not much of a goodbye, but since I'm already here I might as well say my piece.
