Q: Is there an english version of this game?
A: No, none of the Princess Maker games were ever officially
translated and published. Princess Maker 2 is available in
english over the internet, but was never really published.
Q: Patricia turned 13/16 years old, but why is she still a child?
A: Her appearance changes on April 1st 1443 and 1446.
Q: She turned 18 years old, but the game still continues?
A: The game ends on April 1st 1448. The game recognizes the start
of the new year and age always in April, similar to the japanese
school system starting in spring.
Q: I'm always broke, are there cheats?
A: Yes, I have listed them below.

Q: What are 'Demon Points'?
A: A short way of saying Demon Blood Points, Demon Points are
an invisible parameter - similar to the trust she has with
her various marriage candidates.
Q: What are they, then?
A: Demon Points are a hint on how much of a demon Patricia has
become, rather than remaining a perfectly normal human.
Starting in 1443, Cube will tell you about her bear that
will hint at how high her points are - the more often the
bear will talk at the start of the month, the higher her points.
Most of the endings require her Demon Points to be below 99,
some are an exception and require a higher point average.
Q: What parameter is really important?
A: Depending on what ending you're going for, it changes.
Q: How do I influence her starting parameters?
A: Through her birthdate. Refer to the correct section to
see all her starting parameters, depending on her birthdate.

Q: How many events must I see with the princes?
A: As many as possible, if not all of them. Every event
with one of the important NPCs will add + 5 Trust to them,
so the more you see the higher her trust to them.
Q: How do I witness a certain event?
A: Check the correct section for location, requirements
and possible pre-requirements.
Q: Are the events important?
A: Most of them are - especially the events with the
important NPCs, they could determine which ending you get.
Other events either influence her parameters or will unlock
new classes or jobs for Patricia.
Q: When does Patricia draw a masterpiece?
A: It's randomly generated when she takes Art classes.
It can happen a total of three times.
Q: Can Patricia win the Art Exhibition with the sketchy flower?
A: Yes, she did with me. If her Sensitivity was around 130 points,
chances are she'll be able to win the event. If you're not sure,
buy the Oil-based Paint Set from the Item Shop.

Q: How do I get a certain ending?
A: Try to have Patricia's parameters as close as possible
to the ending parameter requirements. Make sure you follow
the strategies and remember the small notes.
Q: How do I get Patricia to marry her father?
A: Aside from the parameters below, make sure to go on
as many vacations with her as you can, avoid meeting
the princes. Keep her Pride and Fame low, below 300.
Q: Which is the hardest ending?
A: Most definitely True Heroine.
Q: Which is the easiest?
A: I'd say the Freelancer Ending.
Q: Do I have to be exactly on the points for the endings?
A: No, it's the minimum it'll have to be to obtain that ending.
Unless noted otherwise you can have much more than those - I managed
to obtain the Princess ending with almost 999 points in Charisma.
Q: Which ending should be my priority?
A: True Heroine. However, I suggest to try aiming for that after
you've played the game at least once. Aim for Princess instead.

+ Princess Maker 4 (Best Hit) +
The original version of Princess Maker 4 was brought out in September 2005
for the Playstation 2. Featuring full voice-acting for every character,
this version had the disadvantage of having to be played on either a
japanese or a modded Playstation 2. As the first version, it did not have
various events and endings that were added in later releases.
+ Princess Maker 4 +
Appearing in July 2006, Princess Maker 4 was brought to the PC.
Available in korean or japanese, this version had several new events and
endings added - among them the 'real' ending of Princess Maker 4,
True Heroine. A fan-made translation patch was available for download
to translate menu options, parameters and town locations. Still containing
full voice-acting, the scenario 'A Day Without Cube' was added.
+ Princess Maker 4 Portable +
October 2006 western Princess Maker fans could rejoice as Princess Maker 4
was released onto the region-free Playstation Portable. Containing full
voice-acting as well as the scenario 'A Day Without Cube' it also had the
events and endings added that were new to the PC version. The Omake menu
was created, including the Album which allowed you to review all the
CGs you had collected during the game.
+ Princess Maker 4 DS Special Edition +
Released in September 2008, the Nintendo DS version was great news for
western fans due to the DS being region-free like the Playstation Portable.
Containing all the previous events and endings, the DS version turned the
game into a stylus-controlled game and adding the feature to touch your
daughter, which gave the game a slightly bad reputation. The DS version
suffered when it came to the voice-acting as nobody had their voice added
except Patricia.

Stylus - the main tool, tap to control the entire game or hold down
at the castle or town to see who you'll be talking to or
which location you are heading for.
B Button - used to display entire speech in speech box.
X Button - used to skip over dialogue, schedule items and others.
Y Button - used to make the speech box in the top screen disappear.
L Button - used to have the displayed information in the top box
change by one line. Can also be done by tapping the box.
R Button - used to have the displayed information in the top box

The Plot [PM-Plo]

The Princess Maker series mixes Dating Sim with Life Simulator together.
Usually a war hero, you take care of a girl at the age of 10 and educate
her until she is 18 years old and chooses her future path, depending on
what you did during the course of the game. Mostly you are the adoptive
or step-father of the girl, although this has changed in later games.

Prologue [PM-Pro]

This kingdom, in close perimeter and contact to the Demon World has
recently discovered magic through the Sage Stones. Realizing how much
power they gain through these, they were harvested from the Demon World.
When explorers ventured into the depths of the Demon Forest, the leader
of the demons - The Maou - became furious at their greed and left with
his demon army to surround the kingdom.
The brave young warrior Isabelle appeared before The Maou and they fought,
until Isabelle offered to sacrifice her life to the demons in exchange
of The Maou returning to the Demon World with his men. The demons returned
and Isabelle disappeared with them.
Thinking that she was kidnapped and required rescue, the king promised any
man who was able to return her to the kingdom great wealth and fame. Among
a group of warriors was you. You were a companion of Isabelle's and there
during that time. When all the other warriors were killed by demons, you
rested at a spring in the Demon Forest and met Isabelle there, looking the
same way she did back then, although ten years had passed. Isabelle cannot
return with you and, instead, entrusts her young daughter to you - wishing
that she be raised in the human world, to live happily as a human.
With the little girl by your side you return to the king and ask for a
small house to live in with your new daughter. And you are determined to
follow Isabelle's wish.

Officially, this is your name although you can change it.
As a warrior, you're known for being a companion of the hero Isabelle
and you take care of her daughter as if she was your own. With a yearly
salary and the help of your demon butler, you raise your daughter to
be whatever you want her to be.
+ Patricia Halliwell +
Officially, her first name is Patricia but you can change it.
The daughter of the hero Isabelle, she has been living with you since she
was a small girl and thinks of you as her real father. She doesn't know
that she is half-demon and that her father is The Maou. Sweet and cheerful,
Patricia can fool you as she is actually quite sad to know know her mother,
whom she believes to be dead.

Your demon butler who was with Isabelle when she appeared to you at the
spring in the Demon Forest. Very polite, he takes care of Patricia by
making sure she is dressed right when the weather gets too hot or cold,
warns you if she becomes rebellious or her demon points get too high.
+ Isabelle +
The brave woman who fought The Maou during the recent war.
She gave up her life to the demons so they would leave the kingdom alone,
but sustained a critical injury during the fight. She was brought to the
Demon World and get several transfers of demon blood - the transfers were
many and she therefore does not count as human anymore. The Sage Stones
in the kingdom are what prevent her from returning there.

Leader of the demons, The Maou gets called Maou-sama although Patricia
is permitted to merely adress him as Maou when she meets him. He is
Patricia's real father. Although he seems cold, distant and mean, he does
care very much for his people and does not wish for war between demons
and humans.

Princes [P-Char]

+ Sharul +
Officially, his name is translated to Charles in english.
Sharul meets Patricia when he comes to pay you a visit, but will introduce
himself as part of the knight's team to her. Quite interested in the daily
routine of town, he often wanders around. Sharul is actually the prince of
the kingdom and will not be officially revealed as such until the final
National Day.

Happy and carefree, Lee also wanders around town a lot to see what's
going on and to waste time. He always asks Patricia out on a date when
they meet - when he tells Patricia that he is actually a dragon, she
thinks that he's joking, but he really is a dragon.
+ Baroa +
The prince of demons. No blood relation to The Maou, Baora is merely
a prince in title - since Patricia is the actual heir but is living in
the human world, Baroa was named successor. He is found either in
Dark Town or in the Demon World, although he tries to stay away from
the demon castle as much as he can.

+ Lize Tolbas +
A young and determined girl, Lize wants to become a great warrior just
the way her father was. She is constantly putting herself through training
and her sense of responsibility is great because of it. When her father
gets killed by demons, starting the second war, Lize vows to revenge his
death and will volunteer as a soldier in the king's army.
+ Christina Ohara Nosari +
While spoiled and angry if things don't go her way, Christina does care
a lot about Patricia. Her family is quite rich and well known among the
kingdom. Christina does not get along well with Lize.
+ Marie Strahlman +
Her father owns the Item Shop. Marie is rather shy and sensitive, often
entering the art exhibition during the festival. However she can surprise
you by turning up at the combat tournament and her sense for business
is well skilled.
+ Karen +
In love with magic and the mystical things, Karen speaks brokenly and
often seems to be daydreaming, talking to things that aren't real.
Rather ditzy and clumsy, she still has a gentle heart.
+ Chris +
An immensily rich man in the kingdom, Chris believes that everything and
anything can be bought with money. He loves business and is very rather
interested in women who display good knowledge on how to run a business.
+ Daratan +
Called the chinese orc, Daratan grants the opportunity to buy his very
exclusive merchandise only to the rich and famous. He can end up ruined,
though, if you let Patricia become too sinister.

Other times it can display her birthday or your current finances. Click

Determining the path Patricia will eventually take when she reaches
adulthood. Parameters are entwined with each other, so while she can
become a well-rounded character, she can also become an expert in a
certain area.

Influences how much HP she will have when she enters the tournament.
Her diet can change her stamina, if it gets too low Cube will change
her diet to increase her stamina again.
+ Knowledge +
Increases the strength of her magical attacks.
The higher her knowledge is, the better she'll do at jobs that
mainly require a certain amount of intelligence.
+ Charisma +
High Charisma can increase her chance of winning the dance contest.
Together with Sensitivity, this can help her win the Most Creative prize.
+ Pride +
Increases the strength of her physical attacks.
+ Moral +
Increases her defense against physical attacks.
When her Moral gets too low, Patricia might become rebellious.
+ Refinement +
Needed to gain audiences with higher set people in the castle.
+ Sensitivity +
Increases chance of painting a good masterpiece and winning the exhibtion.
Together with Charisma, this can also determine her winning chance in
the dance contest - mostly needed to gain the Most Creative prize.
+ Temperament +
Needed for certain endings.
+ Fame +
For every 100 Fame she gets, Patricia will have 5% discount
in all of the human world stores.
+ Martial Arts +
Increases physical attack and defense.
+ Magical Arts +
Increases magical attack and defense.
+ Sin +
When her Sin gets too high, she'll become rebellious.
+ Stress +
Everything aside from time off increases Stress.
When her Stress gets too high, she'll become sick.
+ Invisible Parameters +
Trust to .. can determine, among parameters, who she'll end up with.
Demon Points increase whenever she goes to the Demon World and is not
wearing the Dress of Dragons. Must remain low for most endings, but
needs to be increased for demonic endings.

Her starting parameters will be determined by the date you entered to
have as her birthday. Some parameter sets will make it easier for you
to obtain a certain ending, others might make it harder. Fame and Stress
will always be 0 at the beginning of the game.
Whenever her birthday rolls around, you have the option to buy her a gift
or to not do so. Buying her gifts will increase her trust to you, while
not giving her anything will decrease her trust to you.

It's japanese believe that the bloodtype influences the character of a
person and so here. Her bloodtype will influence her parameters by every
month - personally, I noticed an increased chance of gaining rebellious
behavior if Patricia's bloodtype was B.

Her Behavior [H-Beha]

Generally Patricia is sweet and obedient. Sometimes, when her Moral is
too low while her Sin is too high, Patricia can turn rebellious. When
this happens, she'll change into a punk-goth attire and glare at you
annoyed during the rebellious phase. The phase can be only a month long
or stretch out over the year - repeated rebellious behavior could end up
with her parameters suffering, as well as her fame. Her behavior will
change and you might have a hard time to play right.
To get Patricia to snap out of it, try talking to her and she might
give you a hint on why she became like this. Maybe she's tired of the
classes you make her take, that she wants to try out a new job or maybe
she just wants a nice vacation with her father - if talking won't help,
try to scold her and make her work at the church to increase her Moral.

Patricia will refuse to change into any clothes you might click on.
You do not need to worry about heat or cold, she doesn't get affected
by it when she is rebellious.
+ Special Occassions +
Patricia will refuse to go to special occassions like the Harvet Festival
or the National Day celebration. This can end up with losing an important
parameter or event for a certain ending or missing out on CGs.
+ Classes and Jobs +
Patricia will do half-assed effort in her classes or jobs, mostly just

If the Cat's Eye is in Patricia's possession, Cait Sith will take it back

Demon Points by 1 every month - if you're aiming for high Demon Points,
sell the bracelet.
By doing the above quest, the Demonic Shop will be available in the Shop
menu. The Demonic Shop sells you bottles that increase a certain parameter
for only 50 G - buying from the Demonic Shop will increase Patricia's
Demon Points.

Needed to unlock Daratan's Mansion and will later become important to

where Patricia will meet her mother again - required for the True Heroine

Daratan Mansion [Da-Man]

Invisible at first and must be unlocked. To unlock it, Patricia's Sin must
be at least at 50, you must have at least 5.000 G so Daratan will visit
you and have access to the Demon World.
After Daratan leaves, Patricia should ask who that was just now. She'll
begin fantasizing about the wonderous things that must be in his home.
Go to the Demon World, then to the Demonic Shop. Enter the Demonic Bar
and you'll leave automatically, enter the Demonic Bar again to get a hint
as to how to get Daratan's house to appear.
Send Patricia roaming again and, before the town map appears, she should
have a short discussion with Cube - go to the Hospital and the doctor
will give her glasses that'll sharpen her eyes.
Go to the Demon World and it should be visible now - entering the house
will gain you a CG and Patricia can choose to steal whatever Daratan
usually sells that you haven't bought yet. She can steal once a month,
her Sin will increase by 50 points for every stealing.
Downside of this - Daratan will start selling useless equipment and
will annoy you every month.

Harvest Festival [Har-Fe]

Takes place every September, for the entire month. You must either have
Patricia attend/participate in the festival or choose to rest the month.
September will also be when you get your annual salary - it can vary in
the amount, I've gotten 500 G up to 3.000 G.
In 1440, Patricia is too young to participate in the festival.
You'll gain a few CGs when attending the festivities and choose what
event to visit first.
Dance Contest - Refinement + 5
Art Exhibition - Sensitivity + 5
Picking the Tournament won't change anything. You'll end up there
anyway and Patricia will say that she'd be willing to take on a fighter.
Your answer will influence her parameters.

Stamina, Knowledge, Pride, Martial Arts and Magical Arts are important
for this event. Depending on what you are training her into, you will
need less Martial/Magical Arts.

Sensitivity is the important parameter here, the higher her Sensitivity
points were when she drew the masterpiece, the higher her chance of
winning the event. Her amount of taken Art classes is also important.

Christmas New Year's [X-New]

This festival occurs on the last day of the year, every year.
Due to the religious background and gifts it can be seen as a late
Christmas celebration - but since it's on the last day of the year and
it's also more like a fun event, rather than somber, you can say it's
more like New Year's Eve.
Either way, you gain CGs for almost every year - depending on a few things.
The first two years, Patricia will spend this festival with you and
you can increase her trust with you. The second year, the CG will only
appear if you've given her allowance at least once.
As a twelve and thirteen year old, Patricia will spend it with the girls,
celebrating with firecrackers and singing in a choir.
Her fourteenth year will take place in the church.
Patricia will spend her fifteenth and sixteenth year with one of the
princes, Sharul, Baroa or Lee. She must've met the prince and have
at least one event with him - the prince with the highest trust to her
will celebrate with her.
Her final year Patricia will spend with you again.

Every year in January, the castle will become the main attraction of
the population. The National Day is not really that important, but by
attending it she will gain some trust with the girl who is Patricia's
best friend at the moment.
The National Day in 1445 is important as Patricia will meet Sharul again,
required to unlock all the other events with him. The last National Day,
in 1448, will be a ball. A total of four CGs can be unlocked during
this event - three feature Patricia dancing with Sharul, who will then
be officially revealed as the prince, and one with Christina being
Sharul's partner for the ball.

The Oil-Based Paint Set is supposed to increase Patricia's chance of
winning the Art Exhibition, the Dancing Shoes do the same for the Contest.

From the Doll to the Power Wrist are her birthday presents, although
there are two more birthday gifts which I haven't identified yet.
The gifts are supposed to influence a certain parameter, but I haven't
noticed any difference.

The Summer and Winter Wear are required if it gets too hot or cold during
the year. If you don't have those clothes, Patricia's Stress will increase
when Cube can't change her into the appropriate clothes.
The Dress and Silk Dress can only be worn once Patricia is at least
11 years old. Not sure why, probably to prevent a glitch for her to
be able to participate in the first Harvest Festival.
The Luxurious Dress, Magician Robes and Leather Suit can only be bought
once Patricia is at least 13 years old and has changed her apperance.
The special gowns need to be obtained by the two princes and the final
one can be bought/stolen from Daratan. Those she can only wear once she
is 16 years old and has changed her appearance.
If Patricia is overweight (50 kg and up) she cannot wear any of her other
dresses except her default, summer and winter wear, the battle robes
and the priest robes.

Marriage Endings [Mar-St]

Start with Decorum lessons and take Dance classes on the side,
once you've unlocked them. Increase Patricia's Pride by touching her
hands when she's a child and arms/stomach when she's older. Send her
to work at the Church if Pride and Moral are too low, work mostly
as a Maid, though.
Unlock the Market and Tutor jobs and use those to increase her
Knowledge and Temperament. You can also touch her face to increase
Temperament. Take a break from Dance or Decorum lessons for some
General courses to focus a bit more on Knowledge.
April 1445 onwards, roam around the Town at least once a month and
go mostly to the City Square - most of the events with Sharul are
there. Otherwise go to the Street. Events are always done around October
or November, so take a vacation if her Stress is too high.
If Patricia sings at the Harvest Festival - don't panic!
I got her singing, but managed to end up marrying her off to Sharul.
Anyhow, never let her work at the Sleazy Bar or the Casino.
The Maid Caf� is alright, it's even needed for an event, but stay away
from the actual Dark Town jobs. Make sure her required parameters are
at the minimum or even higher and keep getting events with Sharul.
To get all three CGs with Patricia dancing with Sharul, have the Dress,
Silk or Luxurious Dress and, I suggest, the Beautiful Robe in your
Item Menu.
January 1448, save and begin the Schedule - attend the Ball and have
Patricia wear one dress, get the CG and load. Repeat this for gaining
the other two CGs.
+ Marrying Father +
Start Patricia off with Housework and then focus on Babysitting.
Too much Housework could turn Cube into your rival. Have her take
Dance and Art classes - have her win a Harvest Festival if you're
low on cash.
Mostly go on vacations with her. Go on a vacation at least once
per season - once you have too much money, go crazy and take her
on a vacation every other month or even every month.
Make sure to keep her Pride below 300, her Moral below 350 and her
Fame can't get too high, either. Send her working at the Market
to gain Knowledge and Temperament - Tutor is okay, too, but watch
out for the Moral points. If Patricia's Charisma is too low,
put her into the Beautiful Robe or even send her to work as a Barmaid.
Not the Maid Caf� too often, but use it if she gets her Pride and
Moral too high. The Leather Suit can also help.
If her parameters are high enough, save around December 1447 and waste
the rest of your money on vacations. In February, she should give you
a shoulder massage and ask you if you want to marry her off right away
or for her to stay a bit longer. Option 1 will make her stay longer
and, if all worked out well, she'll propose to you in April 1448.
Re-load, get the shoulder massage again and pick Option 2 and you
should get the Marrying normal Man ending without having to waste
your time for all those years ago.

I strongly suggest to have a backed up save from trying to get
Patricia to marry you. During the shoulder massage scene, pick
Option 2 and she should marry him.
Much faster and easier way than to waste your time with a new game ..

Quite obviously, send Patricia to Magical Arts classes as often as you
can, have her work at the Farm to gain some more Stamina. If her Morals
are too low, send her to the Church - if they're too high, be gentle
to her and stay away from Bloodtype A!
Other than keeping her Stress low, her Knowledge should increase pretty
fast once she is put into a higher class in the Magical Arts. Win the
Harvest Festival a few times for some money and Fame. In higher classes,
Patricia's Sin will increase so make donations to the Church if it's
getting too high.

I actually only got this ending when I failed at getting the
Marrying Father ending .. Again, send her to Magical Arts classes a lot.
Other than that, I can't think of anything ..
+ Artist +
Patricia will be spending a lot of time in Art classes, so make sure
you have the money for it - if you don't think she'll be able to win
the Art Exhibition, buy the Oil-Based Paint Set from the Item Shop
and keep going to Art classes until she graduates from it.
For work, have her work as a Maid or at the Market, for Knowledge,
but what with winning every Art Exhibition, money shouldn't be a problem.
In April 1444, Patricia should gain the Legendary Brush - this item
appears useless, but it's required for this ending.

Got this ending twice, aiming for different things.
I think to obtain this ending she needs to attend every class at least
once, the same with every job. Sending her to the Market a lot might
help, too. Just make sure to not gain too much trust with any of
the possible marriage candidates, the girls or her parameters too high
in a specific area.

Send Patricia to Martial Arts classes the most, make sure she graduates
from it and, once you meet Lise, see as many events with her as you can.
Since most of Lise's events are at the City Square, go there a lot and
to the Restaurant, Street or Item Shop for others. Try to get the event
at the Item Shop where Lise tells you she wants a Katan - April 1443
until March 1444 - and then see it's sequel at the Street - October 1444
until January 1445 - before Lise's father dies.
Have Patricia work at the Market or as a Tutor to gain Knowledge,
or at the Church to increase her Pride and Moral points. Have her win
the Tournament for money and Fame.
Try to not gain access to the Demon World - so stay away from Dark Town
and you will miss out on the CG of Lise becoming a soldier, but you
can unlock another event or two.
Since a lot of Sharul's events are at the City Square, too, try to
avoid him by not attending the National Day celebrations 1445.
